Hi everyone, I'm David Duchovny. Join me on my podcast Fail Better where we use failure as a lens to reflect on the past and analyze the current moment. I speak with makers and performers like Rob Lowe, Rosie o' Donnell and Kenya Barris, as well as thinkers like Kara Swisher and Nate Silver to understand how both personal setbacks and larger forces impact our world. Listen to Fail Better wherever you get your podcasts.
Coolap Ulaisak
Lemonada.
David Duchovny
Also with that Fire boy. Woo.
Coolap Ulaisak
Welcome to the end of an era. This is the final episode for now.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
For now of Add to cart.
Coolap Ulaisak
The show about what we buy and buy into and what it says about who we are. I'm your auntie Coolap Ulaisak.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And for the final time ever in the history of aunties, I am your auntie Susu Galubu Sushi Park.
Coolap Ulaisak
Finally, your real name revealed.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
My government name right there for everyone to see. Is this the final, final, final episode? One, two, three. Yes, maybe.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
The answer is we simply don't know. Or maybe know, but we all really don't know.
Coolap Ulaisak
We don't know. We don't know anything.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Today though, in honor of this, I don't wanna say ending. Cause right. The end is just the beginning is the end. Right.
Coolap Ulaisak
Which is a book your husband wrote.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Thank you. Know what?
Coolap Ulaisak
I'm always plugging, my friends.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Always plugging. Partnership. This is five years of pod marriage. Today we are recording in person. Really? For the third time in add to carte history. First time was with Janie and Paul in Santa Barbara.
Coolap Ulaisak
That's right.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Right. And then we did the Noye House.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah, that live show.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Live show. Yes. And it was. I said it may be our final live show. And it still may be our final live show. Yeah, that too. And it's only fitting then.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
For so many reasons. This serpent circle comes to a close as the mouth eats the head or the butt and it comes. It comes full. Do you know what I'm saying?
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah, that's a movie.
David Duchovny
Like an Ouroboros.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's right. Whatever that is.
Coolap Ulaisak
Two girls, one cup.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
We're the Two Oroboros.
David Duchovny
Just like Two girls, one cup.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Two girls, one cup for the oldies. You know what I'm talking about. We.
David Duchovny
You mean Human centipede?
Coolap Ulaisak
Thank you.
David Duchovny
I was going to say human caterpillar. Oh, I can't wait until it turns into a beautiful human butterfly.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
A shit, shit butterfly again. Perfect intro. And so we all knew that we couldn't end this run.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah. Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Without this guy. This guy is only one.
Coolap Ulaisak
Who is this guy?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
There's only one on the list, by the way.
David Duchovny
I could not be more thrilled to be here. What an honor it is to be here for the final episode of ADD to Cart. And I think at this moment, right now.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah.
David Duchovny
We should announce. Just take these shovels.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
Dig a shallow grave for this show because. Boom. Play the theme song. Welcome to another episode of Zook's Cubes. I'm Jason Mantzoukas. I'm your host. I'm here with my co hosts, Suchin Pack and Cool Off Eli Sog. We're gonna cover all of the best gear, cubes, packs, potions, and everything else. Let's go. ADD to Cart is dead. Zoox Cubes lives forever.
Coolap Ulaisak
I'm sweating.
David Duchovny
I'm, like, out of breath.
Coolap Ulaisak
I'm sweating from watching you out of.
David Duchovny
It's Sunday afternoon. I'm not. I can't muster. I'm 52 years old. I can't muster this kind of. This kind of energy.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Should we take a nap?
David Duchovny
My first item is a sleep mask.
Coolap Ulaisak
You know, we need to also mention who our sound engineer is.
David Duchovny
Oh, boy.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Do we have to sound engineer?
David Duchovny
I never respect the engineer.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
The concierge.
David Duchovny
And so it only makes sense that today our engineer is Scotty Ox Manning the. Manning the Ox.
Coolap Ulaisak
You know, I told you guys this, but let me tell the Carters. He was like, what I can do is turn it on and walk away.
David Duchovny
Yeah, that's his whole deal. Turning things on and walking away.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's our.
David Duchovny
That's what I did to cool up. Wait a minute. I was told his mic wouldn't work.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
On the mic.
David Duchovny
I was promised his mic would not work.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
All right, I'm turning myself off again.
David Duchovny
What Scott says every night before bed.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay, so let me just Billboard what we're doing today.
David Duchovny
I love it.
Coolap Ulaisak
Mainly to you and sucha.
David Duchovny
Yes. I have no idea. Me neither. I brought stuff. I'm thrilled, by the way, much like the Neue House show, I'M so excited to do this live. Sure, it's fun to do it on Zoom, but boy, to be in the same room, the crackling electricity. This is all I want, is to be here with you guys today, not Scott, but with the both of you. So thrilled to be here. Let's get into it.
Coolap Ulaisak
Let's get into it. So, Jason, you actually helped produce the show you suggested. Go to the Carters. Go to the Zoox cubers. The cube heads.
David Duchovny
Oh, yeah, the cart heads.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah, the cart heads. What are their Zook's cubes.
David Duchovny
What are their burning cues for the cubes?
Coolap Ulaisak
And I got them, baby.
David Duchovny
You do?
Coolap Ulaisak
I got them. And we're gonna be talking about them throughout the show.
David Duchovny
I love it.
Coolap Ulaisak
We're gonna go through Sue's overnight bed quickly.
David Duchovny
Sue's cues. We got the cardhead cues and Sue's cues. Do we have COOs?
Coolap Ulaisak
Qs, we have COOs. COOs.
David Duchovny
We have COO. Oh, I am starving.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Don't mind if I do.
David Duchovny
Don't mind if I do.
Coolap Ulaisak
You brought two bags?
David Duchovny
I brought two bags. I was instructed to bring, like, a personal item bag and some of the items. And in a way that what I've brought is illustrative of how I do pack that bag quite often for a trip.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, boy.
Coolap Ulaisak
It's perfect.
David Duchovny
To juxtapose, I'm assuming with suchins packing methodology.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That is a bold assumption.
David Duchovny
Which I'm assuming is just that. Glad trash bag wrapped up around the.
Coolap Ulaisak
That's around your neck right now.
David Duchovny
Shoddily wrapped up in a zip tie.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
My name like a kindergartner going on a field trip.
Coolap Ulaisak
And if we have time, I mean, that could take up the whole. The whole show, I hope. I brought my toiletry bag to also.
David Duchovny
I also have a new toiletry bag idea to pitch you, but I'm not sure if it's gonna work. I'm not sure it's gonna work for you is what I mean.
Coolap Ulaisak
Interesting. Interesting. I like this. I like this idea.
David Duchovny
Also, my presumption is that this being the last episode, it can be as long as we want. So I brought a full meal. I brought a sleeping pad. I'm here for the. I'm assuming this is like a church. Lock in. We will be here overnight.
Coolap Ulaisak
Let's ask the pastor if that's cool.
David Duchovny
Scotty, I have to go in about five minutes. No, you have a hard out. You brought two bags, you say so.
Coolap Ulaisak
A baba Black sheep minus one.
David Duchovny
Oh, boy.
Coolap Ulaisak
All right, bye.
David Duchovny
And you know, he's been sitting on that since I said, two bags. I said two bags. And he was like, oh, I got something for that.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But this isn't.
David Duchovny
This isn't even my show. Stop talking to me if you don't want it. Yeah, it's true. Anytime we open it up to Scotty, we're guaranteed all of the wordplay he's been sitting on since last we talked to him, which will be exactly when you'll notice your numbers dropping off.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay, well, let's begin. Let's begin with, you know, how do we. Should we do Sue's bag first or Jason's bag?
David Duchovny
What do you think? Yeah, I was gonna say, what's the. Do you wanna go through stuff first? Do you wanna go through Q's first? Because Qs might bring up stuff. How do you wanna. You know, I don't think there's a wrong way to do this.
Coolap Ulaisak
Maybe we. You know what? You brought up the toiletry bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
Oh, yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
And maybe we start with mine. And we said it. Because I would say that I settle somewhere in between the two of your styles.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Jason, you're being very generous to. To me. Which I appreciate. On our last episode, let me remind everyone, gentle gloves as we exit. Yes.
Coolap Ulaisak
Because Jason is at an extreme. Yours packing style, it's sterile.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's dry.
Coolap Ulaisak
It's dry.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's many cubes.
David Duchovny
No. I'm all about pragmatism and practicality. It is not a passionate affair. I am packing with the austerity of a machine.
Coolap Ulaisak
That's right.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And Suchin, I would say that's passion. Yes.
Coolap Ulaisak
And for Suchin, it is soup. Yeah, it is soup. And her bag is a pot.
David Duchovny
And it's the kind of soup that the restaurant makes with all the leftovers.
Coolap Ulaisak
It's slop.
David Duchovny
It's slop. It's slop. Your methodology. Your methodology.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And by the way, a lot of ways, the best kind of soup.
David Duchovny
I don't disagree. In a lot of ways, I'm sloppy, like, in my life. You know what I mean? Like, I'll slop up my food or, you know, I mean, like, chopping everything up and throwing it in. But for packing for a trip, for wanting to know where your stuff is and how it's best accessed. Boy, is slopping terrible.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
Because more often than not, I'm assuming, Suchin, you are just emptying everything to find one thing.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And again, we've gone over a lot of this, so we'll just breeze over this. But I tried a version of the most cubicubes I could at one trip, and I Was worse.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Because I didn't know what was in any of these. They were like silent, quiet little mouses in a bag. And I had no idea where anything was. I was opening, closing things all the time. We talked about this. I was like, if it was a cube that was completely see through. My entire thing was see through. Maybe. Which is why they do make those. They're called Ziploc bags for sure. So we don't have to reinvent that.
David Duchovny
And I travel with Ziploc bags. I love a Ziploc bag. But it is.
Coolap Ulaisak
And you. Let's just remind everybody. And you have them in so many different sizes.
David Duchovny
Oh yeah, I do. And I have them in so many different sizes. And that some of the items I've brought are upgraded versions of my Ziploc bags.
Coolap Ulaisak
I cannot wait. Wow. We are really billboarding.
David Duchovny
We have so much to get to.
Coolap Ulaisak
Sliding off their chairs.
David Duchovny
But I will say. Cause I agree with you suchin there is a way in which if. Especially if you buy like a packing cube set.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
That all are identical and then you pack all your clothes into them and you pack and you don't know what's what. And so for me, I differentiate in terms of, okay, all my white shirt, like my shirts, my tops, my. This. They are in this square nomadic cube. All my pants, all my things that are that size, they fit in this tule cube. Like they. It's about what fits in what. And then I know, oh, that's pants, that's shirts, that's outerwear, that's. And that's all underwear and you know, pajama wear. Types of workouts.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You have a written out key that's just all memory.
David Duchovny
I now just pack it specifically. I use specific cubes for specific purposes. So I'm rarely like, where is that thing? You know, Because I pretty much know underwear. All that stuff's in military.
Coolap Ulaisak
It's military.
David Duchovny
It's. And it's also like, I also buy bags that are set up for my suitcase so they fit well. It's not like, wow, oh, I didn't.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Even know that was a thing.
David Duchovny
I got all this extra room or all this. It'd be better to just. Anyway, it doesn't matter. We can get into it. Let's get into it. Cool up.
Coolap Ulaisak
This is. I'm going to be showing my. Yeah, I guess it's my dopp kit. This is something I've used for over a decade now.
David Duchovny
Wow.
Coolap Ulaisak
I have not found something that improves upon it. It's made by Le Sac. I don't think it's made anymore.
David Duchovny
Yeah, sure. Okay.
Coolap Ulaisak
I don't think it is.
David Duchovny
There are things like it. Yes, there are things like it.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yes, there are things like it. So this is. This is my dopp kit. It is four compartments. Like in a roll, there are four plastic compartments. They can Velcro off each compartment. But I just wanted to kind of show you guys what I'm up to.
David Duchovny
It's great. It's great.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Now, are these four compartments like anything goes or. This is for this. This is. Are they themed?
Coolap Ulaisak
They are themed. This one here in the middle here is all face stuff. Various face.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Got it.
Coolap Ulaisak
I know I've got a lot of things going on here. This is hair.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Okay.
Coolap Ulaisak
This is. This is teeth.
David Duchovny
Do you get in a place and everything gets ripped off and put on the thing? Or you hang this.
Coolap Ulaisak
You can hang it.
David Duchovny
You can hang it.
Coolap Ulaisak
But unpack. I'm an unpacker.
David Duchovny
Yes. So you put all the different things that I need all these things out?
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah. Some things get left behind, you know, like, that I am not going to use, but for all the face stuff that I'm going to be using that comes out. But if things are. I'm just going to use on occasion, I just need to be prepared. Yeah, yeah. And this is sort of kind of like random stuff. Nail stuff. I've got thigh rescue anti friction stick for my thigh. My lack of thigh gap. I have all these things now. I think, Jason, you're gonna be really grossed out here. This part. I kept it real. I have just thrown my toothpaste, a.
David Duchovny
Loose toothbrush and toothpaste. That seems wild.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This is.
Coolap Ulaisak
I had to. I wanna point it out. Could I hide it? I could have.
David Duchovny
That seems wild.
Coolap Ulaisak
I know that you would have a problem with that.
David Duchovny
Why not just put a little even, like, wrap. Saran Wrap. The. The mouth part. That's my only thing is, you know.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It'S in with not putting a shoe in that.
David Duchovny
Well, but who knows? Maybe there's something that's, like, acidic. Maybe there's a thing in there that you shouldn't be putting in your mouth. Maybe it's got makeup or something that's like a. You know, like a. One of these things that's.
Coolap Ulaisak
I don't keep my battery acid in here.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Right. Nail polish remover.
David Duchovny
Yes or. Yes. Or maybe you keep a battery in there. I don't like a lithium ion battery.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah. You never know because you had to finger jam it last minute. You're like, okay, batteries for everybody at boom.
David Duchovny
That's the first Finger jam of the episode.
Coolap Ulaisak
Ding, ding, ding.
David Duchovny
It's a drink.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay, I just wanna also bring up our first that this is the toiletry question came up and Megan Powers Temple asked, hey Zooks, what are your favorite toiletry bags?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Cubes.
Coolap Ulaisak
So just know that that was also in the midst of things, but please analyze me.
David Duchovny
Okay, so I love this. You know, and this is. This is very reminiscent of what I was gonna pitch you, which is because we've talked about this. Off. Off pod. Yeah, that's right. We talked about this as a wanting to replace this. Or I think it was maybe with.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Danielle we were talking about to fall asleep. You know, in person. I have to say I do enjoy.
David Duchovny
Really the how dare you. I mean, but people can look at the video and look at the loving looks that Soochin is giving us. Just wrapped this feels a lot like a tool roll, you know. And so there are versions of this now that are. That you could get as a what are ostensibly a tool roll. And it just wouldn't be as bulky and it would be a little bit lighter probably.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay, but look at all of the things that I have.
David Duchovny
Yes. But what I am noticing is that everything you have is in its. You don't decant into anything.
Coolap Ulaisak
This was a question.
David Duchovny
Great.
Coolap Ulaisak
This was also a question.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Decant.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay, so Joan Garrett asks travel size toiletries or decanting what is the Zoox way.
David Duchovny
Okay, so great question. Whoever asked that question, I feel like don't Garrett. So. And I'll ask it to you. Cool up. Just because we're looking at your kit now.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yes.
David Duchovny
Do you always have this packed with all this stuff or did you assemble this for the show slash for a trip? Or are you packing and unpacking this every trip?
Coolap Ulaisak
The only thing that I will unpack is probably this full size deodorant.
David Duchovny
Otherwise everything stays here for next trip.
Coolap Ulaisak
That's right.
David Duchovny
Got it. Love that. Okay, so for me. Okay, so two things I know we were talking about, like what do you change? I've ch. I have changed my dopp kit just recently. I have huge news. Evergood's toiletry pack out. Bellroy dopp kit in.
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh, Bellroy from Australia.
David Duchovny
Yep. Okay, so Bellroy.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
So Acticard is done, right? We fit. I mean, we're not full.
David Duchovny
Yeah. It's over. Zukes.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This is Zuke's cub. I just wanna just. Just like.
David Duchovny
This is Zuke's cube.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Pour one for Rip.
David Duchovny
Yeah, Rip.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
By the way, I don't want to prolong the death, but I just realized we are not in Nazikar.
David Duchovny
No. We have. We are firmly in the Cuba verse.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Good. Okay.
Coolap Ulaisak
The Cub.
David Duchovny
We're in the Cubaverse. Suchin. Anyway, so I for years used the Peak design travel Dopp kit, which opens like this and sits on your table or the whatever. And you can access all your stuff, but it's narrower and bulkier, so sometimes it would be a problem in closing the suitcase. So the Bellroy, a little bit of a wider footprint, but much easier. And I'm decanting into sea to summit. Whatever. These are little tubes. Not tubes. They're flat, which I like better because everything can flat pack in here. My asthma inhaler, my pulse ox, my pulse ox meter. Yep, yep. My EpiPen, my hair product, you know, all of these things can just flat go in this pouch. Then it's got room for your little doodads, your little mustache trimming.
Coolap Ulaisak
Trimming.
David Duchovny
Your tweezers, your little.
Coolap Ulaisak
What's that for? Earplugs.
David Duchovny
Earplugs, yes, earplugs. Not, not, not. Not for. Not for music, not for sound, but truly just plugs. This is usually toothbrush and toothpaste. And then this is like a big open all the things that are technically liquids.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You got lotions.
David Duchovny
Lotions, eye drops. You know, any of the. Anything that you would. That they might be like, you got to pull that out kind of a thing, babe. That's it. That's the whole thing. And if it all fits in there and it is very easy. It's so much flatter than the one I used to have, which was narrower but taller.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay, I see that. Okay. So it's interesting. There's two things I want to point out.
David Duchovny
You can hang it.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay.
David Duchovny
I don't.
Coolap Ulaisak
You don't.
David Duchovny
I don't normally, you know.
Coolap Ulaisak
Do you unpack when you arrive at. To your destination?
David Duchovny
I do not. I live out of. I use my suitcase as like a drawer. I luggage rack open. All the cubes get opened. So I'm look, it's as if I opened a drawer and it's all right there. I don't mind if my stuff is visible. I don't need to put everything away and have the room be like, oh, it's tight.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's tidied up now.
David Duchovny
You know, I don't like moving in.
Coolap Ulaisak
I need that.
David Duchovny
Maybe if I'm there for weeks, if I'm on a job or something like that.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah.
David Duchovny
Not if I'm just there for three nights or something. I'm not going to put. And I'm also too nervous about bedbugs.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Correct.
David Duchovny
Bedbugs really rocked me in New York. Like, it really scared me. It was so present, so prevalent. I knew so many people that had such miserable times with bedbugs that since then I'm like, oh, no. I will go so far as to. If I'm in a hotel or someplace that I don't like or think is sketchy, I will do the thing where I put all my bags in the bathtub or on the bathroom where there are fewer bedbugs. Anything away from upholstered things, chairs, anything just on a desk or in the bathroom.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay. Okay. Since you showed us some decanted.
David Duchovny
Oh, yes.
Coolap Ulaisak
Hair products.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Is that the word they're using in the industry?
David Duchovny
Yes.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Is decanted.
David Duchovny
The cube biz.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
In big cube.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's what they say.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
To decant, it's wine.
David Duchovny
Yeah. You decant from a larger. From a larger into a smaller inside.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Of a wine industry conference.
Coolap Ulaisak
Make it relatable to you. You decant face lotion into a jam jar. Jam jar. Or you've described a clean hot sauce container as well.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Correct.
Coolap Ulaisak
Or a mouthwash.
David Duchovny
Do you recall that hot sauce is the crazy one? Because the remnants. You're not getting any heat.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
No. And if you did, it's mouthwash, you know.
David Duchovny
Sure.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's not like I put my spicy. My Hoo Ha cream in there.
David Duchovny
Okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I mean, I would.
David Duchovny
Where do you put the Hoo Ha cream, out of curiosity?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Something milder. I mean, before the Hoo Ha butter, you know, German butter or something like that.
David Duchovny
German butter can. A can.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Like some sort of, like, canister.
David Duchovny
Like. Oh, some sort of old German canister.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's what Germans like to butter out of canisters.
David Duchovny
And that's where, you know.
Coolap Ulaisak
And she washes it for.
David Duchovny
So for you, you are juggling. So for you, you're juggling quite a lot of. Okay. In the German canister is the who hot cream. In the hot sauce container is the mouthwash.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Most of the time, I'm not decanting.
David Duchovny
You're just bringing the item itself. You're buying travel size and you're bringing.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You're buying travel size or. Yes, I'm putting it in a hot sauce jar. Yeah.
David Duchovny
So you're bringing glass.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, yeah. Glass is good.
David Duchovny
That's insane.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Why?
David Duchovny
Yeah. Has it ever. Has a glass jar ever broken in your bags?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Never.
David Duchovny
That's amazing.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
Okay. Then I take it back.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And they're like the hot sauce jar that you speak of specifically. And the jam jars I keep for other little things. You know, it could be pills. It could be an earplug. They're small.
David Duchovny
An earplug. Just one.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Well, because I.
David Duchovny
That seems like something that would happen to you is just. Oh, I found the one earplug. It's okay. I'll just sleep on the other ear.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Well, because I'm a side sleeper.
David Duchovny
Of course.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
So I plug the one that's out.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's airing.
David Duchovny
Why wouldn't you.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And then the one that's on the bed already.
David Duchovny
That guy. And guess what? Guess what. You never move. You never move while you sleep. No, I never. I never start sleeping on one side.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And wake up on the other times. I'm switching earplugs throughout the night. It would take. It would. It would impress you. It would impress.
Coolap Ulaisak
So then it brings me back around. Why not have two air.
David Duchovny
Why not have two? And in fact, why not have multiples of two?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
No, I just like the one.
David Duchovny
Cause I mean, like, here's the thing, as I just showed you, I have two right here. Right.
Coolap Ulaisak
So this cute little tiny.
David Duchovny
This little guy kind of sits right on the bed.
Coolap Ulaisak
Does that make you horny?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I have. No, the opposite.
David Duchovny
You're dried up. Get that hoohah cream. Get that hoohah cream.
Coolap Ulaisak
That German buttercaster.
David Duchovny
Find the German canister.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I'm exfoliated. It's so dry that the top layer has come off.
David Duchovny
Wow. Okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
From the.
David Duchovny
It looks great.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
The drought.
David Duchovny
Everybody go to the video.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I'm seeing the case for that. I just, I, you know, I marvel at. I mean, the reason why this topic is so fascinating is because you obviously don't lose things.
David Duchovny
You know what? It's very true. I rarely lose things. And when I do, it's one of the only times I'm genuinely angry.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
Even though, you know, you have a backup for a backup.
David Duchovny
Correct. You know, it feels like a failing. In other words, that's what I mean.
Coolap Ulaisak
Personal.
David Duchovny
So for me, you're right. Suchin. What I do is the minute I get to the hotel.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
Either I will take a tom bin tray, which I will frequently bring, which.
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh, we've talked about the tom bin tray. Of course. I use it as.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Well, that thing. I tried that thing once.
David Duchovny
Other thing I bring to tom bin. What is the other thing is the tom bin tray. I think is incredible because you can do a quick. Like it's a. For a pocket dump for anything. You know, I never have my pockets full of stuff. I can always just throw my pockets into a tray, cinch up the tray and pack it out. And that's great. And when I get to the next hotel, open up the tray and the quick stuff that I want. But even better. Not even better, but for like bedside. What you're talking about Sujin having the earplugs or my asthma inhaler or whatever. I got this.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, no.
David Duchovny
Which is a tiny tarp, which is totally flat.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You got a handkerchief size.
David Duchovny
Handkerchief size piece of dyneema, which is waterproof.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You love it.
David Duchovny
Snaps together into a tiny tray.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, God.
David Duchovny
And so this tiny tray becomes.
Coolap Ulaisak
Here it comes. He's doing a demo. He's doing a live demo.
David Duchovny
Okay, So I want that there. You know, I want this there.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
What is the surface area of a night table for you at your typical hotel? Look how small this is. No, but then where's your Tom bin tray?
David Duchovny
On the desk. This is next to the bed.
Coolap Ulaisak
This is a valet.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This is her sleep. The Tobin tray becomes a desk valet and then that becomes your bedside.
David Duchovny
Oh. Oh. And how is that exasperating? Everything has a place.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
What goes on the desk tray versus the bedside tray?
David Duchovny
The things that. Okay, great question. Thank you, Soojin.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Thank you. You know what? Oh, Lord, look at him. Look at him shuffling through his garbage bags on the street corner. Wait, the buses are going by.
David Duchovny
So here's my Tom. Here's my Tom, baby.
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh, he got it in white. I didn't know you got it in white.
David Duchovny
I got it in white. Don't worry about it.
Coolap Ulaisak
Roll it white with a little black piping.
David Duchovny
Okay, so. So. And I've got a bunch of stuff in here for the show. So this isn't how I would normally pack it, but here's my curiosity. Will you cool up your bag? Right?
Coolap Ulaisak
Yes.
David Duchovny
I've just started using these and I'm not quite sure how exactly to implement them, but I think you guys might like them. Cool up especially.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But.
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh. Oh, yes.
David Duchovny
Are you familiar with the cadence jars?
Coolap Ulaisak
I am familiar.
David Duchovny
This I think is pretty cool. This is a form factor that I like. It is very watertight. You can put your potions and lotions in here or pills and the rest. And it's very water tight. Very. It's never gonna leak. And they all have magnets, so it all sticks together. You don't lose them all over the place. You know, this I like. These I think are very cool. And they totally just slide right into one of these guys.
Coolap Ulaisak
Slide in flat.
David Duchovny
Slide in flat to this. So this is an. I just brought these as an example of like. Oh, I got a bunch of these and I've started using them. I haven't quite figured it out, but especially the little pill ones and stuff. Very good. I like it. But suchin. To answer your question, what's this on the desk? It is.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
So he's got his tom bin tray. Oh, Lord. He's emptying his pocket. It's my pockets.
David Duchovny
When I come home at night. It's my pocket dump. So that I don't lose any of the elements that I want to keep track of.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
The things that is the desk, my wallet. So dude, when you pack that, it's empty, it's flat. It's just for your pocket stuff.
David Duchovny
Correct.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Because you can't.
David Duchovny
Because I. I don't want to lose anything on a trip.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Especially fanny pack.
David Duchovny
Not all of it. I'm not. I don't want to be. Stuff can get lost in the fanny pack or I can. I don't want to be like, oh, I'm sure it's in the fanny pack. I want to be like, no, my wallet is here. My headphones are here. All of the things that I need are this and if I want.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And then you repack. Don't do that.
David Duchovny
I can just be like, don't do that.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Don't boo me.
David Duchovny
Toss this in the backpack if I'm running late. What? It's a classic. Boo.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But then you have so many bags out.
David Duchovny
But I'm only carrying two. This in the backpack. Everything goes in. Everything has a place. Yes. What's the matter? Why are you so upset?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But that stuff in the tray has to go in the fanny pack.
David Duchovny
Well, yes, and it will when I get dressed and I'm ready to leave. Oh, boy.
Coolap Ulaisak
Some of that stuff is going to go into steps.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
There's a lot of stuff that stuff.
David Duchovny
Some of the stuff goes in pockets.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Got it.
David Duchovny
Some of the stuff goes in. And some of the stuff will end up in the fanny pack. You're right, you know, but I want to make sure I have it for it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
How many hours a day on a trip are you making love to your cubes?
David Duchovny
Oh, so okay.
Coolap Ulaisak
Just contending your cubes only when.
David Duchovny
When they're in the mood, looking bit.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And then how many hours a day be honest are you unpacking, touching, feeling your cubes.
David Duchovny
It is a. Here's what I'll say.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Like sometimes a romance that comes.
David Duchovny
Sometimes you're on tour, you do a great show, you feel great, you come back and the cubes are like, you were great tonight. You were so funny. They loved you. Toronto loved you. And I'm like, Cubes. I don't know. I thought I started strong, but I started to get tired because of jet lag. And maybe the second half wasn't funny and the cubes are like, the second half was even funnier. And then next thing you know, just, I'm plowing through these cubes. I'm just like, I'm just showering with the cubes. I'm doing it all.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I'm done. I think that break. Give this a break. I mean, wrapping.
David Duchovny
I'm only saying on this is just the lube cube, but we can move on.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Let's take a break at lube cube.
Coolap Ulaisak
And when we come back, Soochen will show us her bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
No, I don't want to do that. Yeah, you're gonna.
Coolap Ulaisak
No.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Hey, Julia, Louis Dreyfus here. If you listen to me on my Wiser Than Me podcast, you probably already know that I'm an investor and an evangelist for the mill food recycler. There are a lot of reasons to love mill, but for me, it's all about the impact. Keeping food out of the garbage is one of the most powerful things we can do to help the planet. Every single day. We're talking banana peels, carrot tops, old takeout. When that stuff heads to the landfill, it becomes a huge driver of climate change. If you already compost, great. But of course, course, there's the smell, the flies, the running to the curb every day with a little leaking compost bag made of cornstarch. That's where mill comes in. It makes keeping food out of the trash as easy as dropping it in. It can handle nearly anything from a turkey carcass to like 20 avocado pits. It works automatically while you sleep. You can keep filling it for weeks and it never, ever smells. Mill makes dry, nutrient rich grounds that you can use in your garden and add to your compost feed to your chickens. Or mill can get them back to a small farm for you, but you kind of have to live with mill to really get it. And that's why they offer a risk free trial. Go to mill.com wiser for an exclusive offer. Koo. As you know, I just got back from another trip to Mexico City. It's apparently my home away from home. So I'm just going to say my biggest checklist item of the year is going to be to learn Spanish with Rosetta Stone. I mean, I love this.
Coolap Ulaisak
I love this so much.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's like, why am I in this city? Why is this language being spoken so beautifully? I need to get in it.
Coolap Ulaisak
You know, be a part of it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
There's no way to really get into the nooks and crannies of a city other than to learn the language.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yes, yes. I love that. It's your shopping addiction that has brought you to a higher place, a place of betterment and a place of education. COO I just talked about Quince in a recent episode about door shoes and in summer I'm living in these Quint's Water Repellent Suede clog mules. My door shoes always right by the door. But you already know it. We are a Quint's Lovin podcast.
Coolap Ulaisak
Guilty. That's my name. In this day in economy, I want gorgeous things that will last. And I needed to refresh my baby girl Emmy's summer wardrobe and I sure did. I got her Count em. Not one, not two, but three different swimsuits from Quints. I'm talking the long sleeve zip up rashguard. One piece in flamingo palms. I'm talking a tankini and long sleeve Raglan rashguard set in strawberries. That's three pieces honey and a long sleeve tie one piece swimsuit in what version? Under the sea. So cute. Got little sea creatures with little ruffle bottom. It's adorable.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I love a ruffle bottom. I haven't even told you. Koo I have to fill my suitcase with gifts to bring back to my Korean relatives. And so for my OG aunties I'm doing the Quince hydrolyzed collagen powder because they are obsessed. And then I got this really cute Italian leather crossbody clutch for my cousin so they're all just going to get quints.
Coolap Ulaisak

Susu Galubu Sushi Park
AKA knife.
David Duchovny
Yeah. Play it again, Scotty.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Wait, Scott, we're gonna need a different song for Lube's cubes.
David Duchovny
That's not an invitation to get on the mic.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's a remix.
David Duchovny
Oh.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Lubes. Lubes.
David Duchovny
We're having fun.
Coolap Ulaisak
All right, Suchin, show us your bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Let's put a timer on this real quick. No, I don't want to belabor this. It's just gonna be too much material for you.
David Duchovny
We're having fun.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, I know. It's just gonna. It's just. We're gonna be here, like you said, a sit in.
David Duchovny
Great.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This is my. Let's travel.
Coolap Ulaisak
You had one night in la. You brought your daughter up to see the stray kids at Sofi.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Correct.
Coolap Ulaisak
Stayed at a friend's house.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I like a tote. I mean, I have done zippered ones. And I get this is a risk.
David Duchovny
Yeah, that's what I was gonna ask. I like a tote like that as well. Have I lost. I need a zipper.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah. Have I lost entire bags in this bag on the plane? 100%. Was it my daughter' and she had her ipod in there. Yes.
David Duchovny
So. So cool. So cool.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But.
David Duchovny
So why not continue to advocate for this as a method?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Because.
David Duchovny
So this is both chaotic and costly.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yes. Redundant, chaotic, costly. That's my bumper sticker. But the thing is, is I see it all. Not unlike your desk valet and your bedside. I just. It was easier for me to rifle through this than my mini bags.
David Duchovny
Yes, I get that.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And so I. Yeah. I mean, guys, it's simple. It's simple. This is gonna be quick.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I got my food bag.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay.
David Duchovny
So your food bag looks like it is. Yes. It's a realreal. It's something came from the realreal. I don't mind reusing that. That's great.
Coolap Ulaisak
I wanna see what she has. Various chocolates. Three kinds of chocolate.
David Duchovny
Now, why.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Coolap Ulaisak
And tinned fish.
David Duchovny
Okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Protein.
David Duchovny
Yeah, that's fine.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Recently been falling in love with. By the way, add to cart. Natural catch. Spicy yellowfin tuna filets.
David Duchovny
Yeah. Okay, great. Now, I ate the corn chips that go. You pointed at the tuna as if the corn chips go with that.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, they do.
David Duchovny
They're part of that. That's the meal.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's the kit.
David Duchovny
That's the kit.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Usually I open that up and I dip the corn chip in it. I use the tin that it comes in as my bowl.
David Duchovny
As your bowl. I don't mind that. Yeah, that's great. But okay, okay, great. And it cinches and you use the chips as your fork or spoon. Okay, great.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
Because I only say that because, you know, I travel with travel. Travel chopsticks and boy is it. Do they come in handy all the.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Time and you wash them after every trip.
David Duchovny
Absolutely.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
See, that's where I would then. And then I would leave it in the drawer and never to be seen again.
David Duchovny
The other version of it is which I used to do before I got. Got the travel chopsticks, which is just a little bulkier, which is just throw three pairs of takeout chopsticks in your bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's more my style.
David Duchovny
Disposable, basically. You live a disposable life. You're contributing to the nightmare that we live in. In terms of climate change though, it's sure just, just, just keep chucking stuff out.
Coolap Ulaisak
Unless you forget. Don't you remember that she buys underwear and then throws them away?
David Duchovny
I love that. But I think that is hot. I love that because I think it's.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Hot because that's too much eye contact for this.
David Duchovny
Because I just think it's like, listen, it's because I think for listeners, for me and for a lot of listeners that's about like, oh, where is suchin traveling and where can I find those? Where can I find those? Where are the trash cans? I can find that underwear and ooh la la. I just.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And let me tell you, you know, it's there no market for that. There is the market.
David Duchovny
You're gonna. By the way, you're gonna hear from the cart heads.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
There's a market types of underwear. And let me tell you from experience from 20 plus years of traveling, there ain't a market for that.
David Duchovny
Little do you know, on the dark web there are like.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Again, the dark web is we're good, we're full. We're full. We got lots of, lots of demographics or different underwear that underwear. We actually don't have one. Okay, one take.
David Duchovny
So here we are creating a market. Just a loose plastic bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Well, what is that loose? But don't you find that.
David Duchovny
Oh, I. Oh, I don't mind you having it. Oh, I don't mind you having it. I just didn't know if it had a purpose. Okay, great.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Underwear.
David Duchovny
So here's the thing. If I'm gonna do that.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But by the way, I'm done. I'm done with the tuna tin. Yeah, yeah. Sneaking up the joint.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Put it in here.
David Duchovny
I love that. But why not? Why not Ziplocs for that? Because then you really are sealing away the odor or the wet or the whatever.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Because it's. Most of the time this is trashed immediately. You can carry a trash bag.
David Duchovny
I get it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's fine. You know, when you travel, you accumulate it. You got a napkin from here, blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, I can't. So then I put it in. And then so generally, like before I board a plane or after, I've got a nice little trash. Trash bag.
David Duchovny
Okay, now here's. And I want. I would ask you, urge you suchin. To. Oh, yeah, of course. To answer me truthfully. How often.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This is not truthful.
David Duchovny
How often are you in a situation where you're like, hang on, something in the bag stinks.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, yeah.
David Duchovny
And then you find that there is one of those trash bags that you've.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
In a cone of honesty shoved down there from days ago in a cone of honesty and safe space.
David Duchovny
This is a safe space.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
When you said that, the first instance that came to mind was, you know, I love boiled or roasted sweet potato as an airplane snack.
David Duchovny
Great.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I bring that skin on. It comes in its own pouch.
David Duchovny
Yes.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Nature's pouch.
David Duchovny
Sure.
Coolap Ulaisak
You just put it right in one of those.
David Duchovny
Nature's pouch. Oh, we all love finger jamming into nature's pouch.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I love it. And again, no waste. Yep, there we go. So I give and I take.
David Duchovny
Oh, yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I give and I take some of things.
David Duchovny
I think you think you're insane. And I don't. I just worry you're making it more complicated on yourself. But please. Yes. You've got your boiled sweet potato.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's where we. That's where we draw swords.
David Duchovny
Correct.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Tip to tip.
David Duchovny
Yes. I can't wait until we're married.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Tip to tip. We've been married and divorced, by the way. Twice. We tried it again.
David Duchovny
I would believe that about us.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
We tried it again and it didn't work.
David Duchovny
We were young then. Now we're young. We can figure this out. Second time shorter.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yes, Second time, shorter.
David Duchovny
Huge mistake.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It was three years the second time.
David Duchovny
A week. Oh, it was. It was not good.
Coolap Ulaisak
It was.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
The next morning we said, let's. Why?
David Duchovny
What are we thinking?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
What are we doing with this?
David Duchovny
Yeah. It ended with a high five.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yes. Ended with a high Five. That's that, right?
Coolap Ulaisak
I answer that question.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
No, let's finish it. About.
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh, yeah, the sweet potato. You did all the sweet potato.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
So what do I do with that skin?
Coolap Ulaisak
What do you do with that skin?
David Duchovny
What do you do with that skin?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Well, I put it in my bag.
David Duchovny
It's a trash bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, but I guess it was. I didn't have enough trash. Cause I also like to fill it up.
David Duchovny
See, this is the problem half.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And in this clue, I am sometimes carrying trash in my bag for days.
David Duchovny
Yes, for days. Okay. See, that's where I'm gonna push back. So that's where I'm gonna push back. Both from the position of cleanliness it was slicing. And also, you're just carrying trash.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It was like this in Korea.
David Duchovny
Okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And hot, humid, moist. And it was in the bot. And I thought it was an empty clean bag for days. And I just kept going in here, just taking advantage and being like, it's.
David Duchovny
Not bad, but something's rotten.
Coolap Ulaisak
Something is rotten in Denmark.
David Duchovny
Let me be clear. It is off. Because something I'm carrying is rotting. I'm carrying, like, something that is actively.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
For a long time. Because it was just the peel. I like to gnaw it right to the edge. You know what I mean? I like to get all the potatoes. She's.
Coolap Ulaisak
She's very tantric with her potatoes.
David Duchovny
But here's the thing. I eat the skin of potatoes.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It just depends on what mood I.
David Duchovny
Oh, okay, okay, okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You know, sometimes I'm feeling. That's.
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh, my God, they're getting married again.
David Duchovny
Hang on. Like, we both love eating that skin, right? Hang on. Who here's a minister?
Coolap Ulaisak
Scott.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Universal life. Third time's a charm.
David Duchovny
Rule of threes.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Anyways, and I got home.
David Duchovny
Oh, God. All the way. You went all the way through the trip?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yep, through the trip.
David Duchovny
So I want to be clear. I want to be clear. The method you are advocating for allows you to both lose things easily that have items in them that are high value, up to many hundreds of dollars.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
And you frequently, because you said one of the first things I thought of, you frequently find yourself frequently, is a stretch carrying.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
So I would dial that back in.
David Duchovny
Satiety carrying. Rotten.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Trashy. Yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
So.
David Duchovny
So here's just a couple of things, because I'm gonna try and attend to your personal style.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Please. That's all you. You're so generous.
David Duchovny
You use Ziplocs as trash because they're transparent.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
I mean, you're gonna know.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This is my problem.
David Duchovny
Trash is in there.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This is My problem, babe? I pick up plastic bags around town.
David Duchovny
Why?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Just whatever. Before I can be like, no, I have a bag. Okay. It's already in the plastic bag. And I got it. And then I'm like, this is a wig waste. So let me decant.
David Duchovny
Okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Let me decant. Okay.
David Duchovny
Here's a perfect example. That what you are holding.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I put it in my.
David Duchovny
Okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Food bag.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And then I'm like, I got this. I can't just. What? This is a perfectly good bag.
David Duchovny
I agree with that.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
The Ziploc is too precious.
David Duchovny
No. Oh, this is interesting. This is interesting. Till, why do you have perceived value around Ziploc?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Perforated. I have. Have perforated zips for non liquid.
David Duchovny
Sure, sure.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And then pristine zips. And those are separated.
David Duchovny
I understand what you're saying. Here's what I'm gonna advocate for.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Okay.
David Duchovny
I'm not saying throw that plastic. White plastic bag away.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
To me, that's a perfect example of have that ready for muddy shoes for. Or the equivalent thereof, dirty shoes, dirt. You know, a wet jacket or something. Right.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
By the way, we're married. Sometimes. That's what. That's what happens. I'm not carrying rock.
David Duchovny
But what I'm saying is for your food trash, so as to not be carting it around. Carting. Use a Ziploc because you'll see there's trash in there.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Shake hands and part ways. Okay.
David Duchovny
Because. Because you're not willing to change many.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Pouches to keep track of. What language do I speak? This is what we use is add more pouches.
David Duchovny
Well, but. But when you open my bag, you only see four things. You see a million.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Another pouch.
David Duchovny
No, I just added Ziplocs.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's a pouch.
David Duchovny
Whoa. This is wild. You think Ziplocs are a pouch, but you the best. But you're shoving anything that comes to your. So you're saying. Yeah, if a person in a store handed you Ziplocs, you'd be like, this is valuable. I should hold onto this. If you bought M&Ms. And they handed you a pouch of Ziplocs with it, you would be like, I have to keep this. This is treasure. But you wouldn't purchase. Purchase Ziplocs on your own.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's about the seal, baby.
David Duchovny
It's about. I think it's.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's about the seal.
David Duchovny
What do you mean?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I can reuse it. This. Right? So if somebody handed me at a 7:11, a Ziploc type of bag, hand them to yourself. I would get them and I'd say, I would use this for months, maybe years, again and again, if it was an open one so cheap.
Coolap Ulaisak
You can buy so many gallons too, now in theaters.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Can we move on? Can we move any on?
Coolap Ulaisak
Can we move?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
All right, let's be quick.
David Duchovny
Yeah, go.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Got that. Got that. That's it.
Coolap Ulaisak
I got that.
David Duchovny
You've got two cubes. You've got a tom bin cube.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I don't know what's. I have to open it to see what's in this one. Yeah, this is.
Coolap Ulaisak
What'S in there. Sue, why are you silent?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This is my vibrators.
David Duchovny
It's just vibrators.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This is my bag of dildos and vibrators. Now this is my toiletry bag.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
So that's my toilet bag.
David Duchovny
Toiletry bag. Now, my question is. Because it does this. And I'm just asking. I don't think this is. You have to. Or anything like that. That cube has things at the end so you can have it as a little bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And I've done that.
David Duchovny
Okay. That's what I would do.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I've done that. I love that.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah.
David Duchovny
And then this is. I like the versatility of that bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's all favorite.
David Duchovny
Yep.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And this is.
David Duchovny
But I agree, it would be great a la the bag you're looking at currently if you could see what's inside of that.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Correct.
David Duchovny
You know what I mean? That would be correct. But unless you're like, that's always my toiletries. It's always my this.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And it's not. That's the difference between you and I is I'm not organized enough in life.
David Duchovny
Sure.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's the nicest way of putting it. Where this bag is always used for this. It's just the wind.
David Duchovny
Yes.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Whatever mood, the whims. Sometimes I feel like I don't need to be so tidy. Cause I'm just going away for a night so I don't have to be like, oh, I gotta move this into a smaller bat feet. For sure.
David Duchovny
For sure. And if I was doing that similar. If I'm going away for the night or if I'm not airplane traveling, if I'm just driving to a weekend getaway, I'm chucking stuff in tote bags, much like you are. I'm chucking, like, for the car. I don't need everything being cubed and everything. Because I don't have a limitation. I'm not trying to. My limitation on myself is always. I don't want to check a bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Right.
David Duchovny
That's it. So in order to not check a bag and bring the amount of stuff I'd like to bring. To me, organizing it means I can just bring.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And I don't check bags either. And I do it my way.
David Duchovny
Yes. Which is to lose stuff as you go. By the way, you're always coming home with less stuff. I don't know. I'm always coming home with less stuff.
Coolap Ulaisak
No, like my daughter's ipod, but she's buying, too. So that's the other thing.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, yeah, we've talked about this. I go out of the country, no bags. I come back, yes, more bags. And I checked more bags.
David Duchovny
Now, how often, out of curiosity, are you. Are you bringing an empty bag every time to fill, or are you buying a bag there to fill?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
50. 50. Okay, 50, 50. It sort of depends. It sort of depends on what size pillow I've got, how long I'm staying for.
David Duchovny
What do you mean, what size pillow you've got?
Coolap Ulaisak
She brings a pillow, you bring a pillow.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, I have. The pillow is non negotiable.
David Duchovny
What are you bringing? Like, what's the version of a pillow?
Coolap Ulaisak
I mean, she's got a bean pillow.
David Duchovny
Okay. A buckwheat pillow. Okay. I have no problem with that. For years I slept on a buckwheat pillow. Love it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah. I need a buckwheat.
David Duchovny
Oh, but heavy. The only problem with that is very heavy.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
No, you're right. Guess what? You can also. And I've done this many times. No, that too. But as I leave, sometimes underwear, in different countries, I also leave buckwheat.
David Duchovny
Oh, yeah. Buckwheat. Or the pillow itself, you mean?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
No, I empty.
David Duchovny
You empty the buckwheat.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, into. I mean, I.
David Duchovny
So you keep the pillowcase and just order more buckwheat.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Correct. And.
David Duchovny
Or do you have like a buckwheat bin in your garage that you have a shovel for and you just ask the kids to shovel some more buckwheat.
Coolap Ulaisak
She's got a food bag and she's got.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I know you like to paint me as a Neanderthal. As an uncouth.
David Duchovny
A Neanderthal. Not at all.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
She's an uncouth cave woman.
David Duchovny
No, no.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But it's not a barrel of hot buckwheats waiting to be filled. Buckwheats.
David Duchovny
Is that the plural of buckwheats?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yes. No, I just purchase more buckwheat fills.
Coolap Ulaisak
If ever I were to lose track of you, just a trail of the wreckage of your presence. I'll find that. I'll find you.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, there are a lot of things. I realize this is not for everyone or anyone. I leave a nice tip for housekeeping.
David Duchovny
Sure. Same.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And when I tell you, I.
David Duchovny
But that's just because you're leaving so many pairs of dirty underwear strewn about the room.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I mean, you could be specific. Or buckwheats.
David Duchovny
Sure, sure. Or buckwheats. Cause that's a bitch.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Imagine that's a bitch. I was once in a hotel in Hawaii.
David Duchovny
Might as well explode. Glitter everywhere.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I was in a hotel in Hawaii and I misjudged the amount of buckwheat that was in this. And you know the hotel trash cans by the desk, you know, they're for little tissues receipts. And I started to. And I lost control.
David Duchovny
Oh, no.
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh, wow.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Because buckwheat. Once it was.
David Duchovny
And you just blasted buckwheat all over the place.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It was a murder scene.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
Wow.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And I looked back and I was like, damn, I'm a. A beast.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I'm. I'm. It's just not in me to be.
David Duchovny
That rock those Hawaiian. Those Hawaiian hotels where rock stars are and they've seen. They've seen everything and they're like, look at this buckwheat all over the place. And these big filthy underwears.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Freak.
David Duchovny
There's so many tins of fish.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Also, why I do not stay in name brand hotels. I have probably been banned from. And this is, this is my bag that always is in my tote bag. And I don't 100% know what's in here.
David Duchovny
But you. You know that it's like it's the equivalent of your junk drawer.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, yeah, exactly. And I travel with it.
David Duchovny
And what would you want to travel with more than the contents of your junk drawer?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Well, because sometimes I like today I was like, I don't love the lipstick right now.
David Duchovny
Why do I have a key fob for an Audi?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah. And I'll to have rifle through this. And I'm like, I love this lip liner. And I forgot I had it.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And there you go.
Coolap Ulaisak
It's magical. Like Mary Poppins bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Ready? And so it's a delight.
David Duchovny
But. But the problem is that what's so interesting you're prioritizing the discovery of. Oh, I love this lip liner.
Coolap Ulaisak
What is that?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I think it's just. No, I think it's toothpaste. Like a little mini toothpaste in here.
Coolap Ulaisak
We got a tape measure by the.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Way, would love that.
David Duchovny
Cause you're always trying to get the square footage of whatever hotel you're going to do.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
By the way. Have you ever how many times I've been like, how big Is that thing.
David Duchovny
Oh, now who are you talking to? Cause most of us have an answer. Most of us have the answer. You don't need the tape measure. That tape measure belies mistrust.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And I will pass this on to whoever I'm traveling with. Said measure it for me.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And here.
David Duchovny
Yeah, there you go.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You. It's just various things. Earplugs, blah, blah, but this. I never not have some sort of insect spray.
David Duchovny
I think that's great. Yep.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And again, I don't know if this is science, but, you know, a lot of, like, deet free will use essential oils. And so in my mind, I'm spraying down a hotel room and my bag things around my bed in hopes that.
David Duchovny
Bedbugs are not into it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Critters are like. It's just too much of a. Of a barrier. And so I like that.
David Duchovny
I will piggyback off of that and say the thing that. Oh, I think I maybe even talked about it on. On here. If not the bug bite thing. The bug bite sucker.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Sucker. We use that.
David Duchovny
I bring one of those with me in my little toolkit. The way. Similar to your bug spray. Yep.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Salt.
David Duchovny
What is. Oh, salt. Yeah. Great. I don't mind that as a. Here's what bothers me about whatever this is. Right.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Salt.
David Duchovny
It's salt. But it is such a bulky package for such a small amount of salt, like, you could show your Ziplocs, James. Well, you could instead have salt in this. Look. Have salt in this. She just crumpled it up and she's right. But that's not how it exists in your bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, I'm just saying it's as small as that.
David Duchovny
Yes, but it doesn't exist in that form. Factor in your bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
In theory.
David Duchovny
He said, not in theory. In practice. I'm talking about in practice. Is this. I'm talking about in practice. When is it filled? Has it ever been filled?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Why would it be filled otherwise? It has room to breathe.
David Duchovny
Think about.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It has room to breathe.
David Duchovny
Salt doesn't breathe. But salt doesn't need to breathe.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
If I needed it. If I needed it to breathe.
David Duchovny
You're giving it more surface area for failure. Into one of your surface area for failure.
Coolap Ulaisak
We're gonna take our second break, and we will be back with more of your questions. Carter's Ages ago, when a listener turned us on to Rakuten, we didn't know then how Rakuten's simple concept of saving money and earning cash back while adding to cart would become such a mantra for the show.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Why just the other day Koo. I bought all the summer outfits for the kids on H and M and got that gorgeous email. You know what I'm talking about?
Coolap Ulaisak
I sure do.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That Rakuten cashback was on the way. 32 bucks straight into my paypal account. Baby.
Coolap Ulaisak

But it's, you know, summers in Capri, dinner al fresco.
Coolap Ulaisak
You get what I'm pouring here? Oh please, please get me four cups. And sue, the best part is you can have all that fun that chic tastes without waking up the next morning a dehydrated husk from too many cocktails.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Koo. Can I just share because you are an aesthetic being. I am just seeing the Le Spritz cans filled with high quality botanicals. I'm talking yuz, elderflower, rosemary, all these gorgeous babes lined up in my she shed fridge. I'm liberated. I am anew.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah, I love this for you. I'm upping my bar cart game with Ghia's original aperitif. Remember I got those gorgeous cocktail glasses from moma last year. I'll pour Ghia over ice in them with a splash of sparkling water, squeeze in a lime and I am San Tropez, baby. Plus I'm still kickboxing in the AM like a champ.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park

Coolap Ulaisak
We are back on Zook's Cube.
David Duchovny
I love it.
Coolap Ulaisak
Formerly known as Add to cart. Jason, we've got more questions.
David Duchovny
Great. What do we got?
Coolap Ulaisak
Is gonna bring up some more of your stuff. Amy Tribes asks, how do I make my husband use the cubes I bought for him?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, God.
David Duchovny
Boy, that's tough. I think what I would do would be to start. Well, I think it would be to find if there are any elements that are for him annoying, like I don't know where my underwear and socks are. Start with something that he would you believe he would genuinely like organized. Don't think you're going to take someone from suchin to me. You're not going to fully cube his pack out and he's going to be like, oh my God, you did it. But start with whatever is annoying and make that not annoying. And then he'll be on, theoretically, he'll be on board for, oh, it is nice to know this is here and this is there and oh, that's cool. Okay, now I kind of get it. I think you, you have to step people into it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But couldn't you live in a world side by side? Oh, soup and seal.
David Duchovny
Oh, for sure.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Soup and seal live on the same block. And you seal yourself in.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And I air myself out.
David Duchovny
Here's the point.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And we live side by side. And you do you and I do me. And that is entering your 50s.
David Duchovny
Here's what I'm gonna say. As someone who is very much in their 50s, if you and I were to take a trip, I don't care that you have a chaotic nightmare in your suitcase.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Be honest. Do you?
David Duchovny
But what I Do care about is if you're taking up part of our vacation day to go to a pharmacy, to go to an underwear store to get stuff.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
What about you making love and figuring your couches?
David Duchovny
I don't want to do errands on our vacation because I want to take our vacation and just connect and do. And do sex stuff and eat good meals. I want us to read at the beach. I don't want to be like, oh, no, I don't have eye drops. Where weird. Do they even have the comp. The version of medicine that I use in this country.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, my God, how fun. What an adventure. Hold my hand, let it skip, skip to my doo doo doo.
David Duchovny
And I'm like, why are your hands so sticky? What is the. Why do your hands.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Let's figure that out.
David Duchovny
You were just rooting around in your tote bag and your hands are sticky and smell like fish. Why?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You know why? Because I had a tuna fish snack. Come on. And we go skip doody doo to the Lisbon cvs. Who knows what that's called?
David Duchovny
Sardines and such. I don't want to go.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
We go to sardines and such. And you're like, oh, my God.
David Duchovny
Why is the pharmacy called Sardines and such?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You write that in your little notebook. You incorporate that in your next.
David Duchovny
I mean, I do have a little notebook.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I know you do. And you incorporate that. Do you see this? It's a creative exercise filled with wonder, delight, and expansive energy.
David Duchovny
Imagine a world in which we're in Lisbon and it's beautiful. And we can instead go to the museum and have a long wine filled.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Stop there.
Coolap Ulaisak
She hates museums. She only wants to go to the Gift.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But both on the way. We go to sardines and such.
David Duchovny
I don't want. That's where we're gonna. That's why we're breaking up again.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Two second shot.
David Duchovny
It's never a two. How dare you. How dare you suggest it's a two second shot.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
No, it's not.
Coolap Ulaisak
Cause you're reveling. You're looking at every.
David Duchovny
You're like, oh, my God, I found the best sunscreen here.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
One question only, okay? And that's.
David Duchovny
You're holding up two fingers.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's it. One question only. Do you not find joy in discovering international flavors of toothpaste? And that's it. Before you answer, a lot is on the line between you and me.
David Duchovny
Okay?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Between you and me here, Soochen.
David Duchovny
I'm connecting with you. I'm here. I'm here.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Remember, we're holding hands. Sticking hands. We're stuck together now. We're at sardines and such. The Lisbon pharmacy.
David Duchovny
There is nothing that I like more than international toothpaste. What the only thing I want is. You know what I don't want?
Coolap Ulaisak
Want?
David Duchovny
I don't want to go to bed being like, what the is this?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But that's.
David Duchovny
I don't want to start my day.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Being like, that's funny. What the is this to be like? They made that out of toothpaste. What a wonder.
David Duchovny
But it's not a wonder.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But sometimes. Sometimes you'll get an iris and clover. Who knew extracted toothpaste from Italy?
David Duchovny
Okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And you're like, I didn't know that. That flavor in my mouth. So here's what I'm gonna bring me joy.
David Duchovny
Here's what I'm gonna say.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And I'm not gonna rob you of that because I love you. I love you.
David Duchovny
I love you. I'm not gonna rock sujin. I love you with all of my heart. I love you with all of my heart. Now let's say I'm gonna do that. Let's say here's what I would do for you, and you're what I would.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Do, and you're gonna love it.
David Duchovny
You discovered that you loved this Italian iris and clover toothpaste. What I would do then, upon arriving home, I would find out how to order that toothpaste for you. I would order it in bulk so that you would always be able to travel with this flavor that you like. That seems like to me a gift.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And that's.
David Duchovny
You don't have to think about it anymore. It is.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It is.
David Duchovny
It's why it never worked out. It's heartbreaking.
Coolap Ulaisak
All right, let's move on to another song. Another song?
David Duchovny
Another song.
Coolap Ulaisak
Another question. Anna felt him. Asked does felt him.
David Duchovny
She hardly knew him. Come on, Anna.
Coolap Ulaisak
Come on, Zoox. Do you have leftover space around your packing cubes? She gets awkward empty spaces.
David Duchovny
Okay, so sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. It depends on the trip. You know, the best version of it, I will say to Suchin's point is I would like to always have some empty space because you don't know. You might pick up stuff along the way. And the worst thing to do is to have a fully packed out suitcase and thus be able to put nothing new inside of it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Don't leave the house, then. Don't travel.
David Duchovny
I try and get cues cubes that fit in the measurements of my suitcase so there isn't too much extra space when I pack my Cubes in. In my suitcase. There are. There are sections left over that I now have figured out. Oh. Alongside my shirts, it's very possible for me to put my extra pair of glasses case and the little speaker that I travel with that will slot in perfectly next to this. So I will fill the space with appropriately sized other pouches or other elements, if that makes sense.
Coolap Ulaisak
I do the same. It's fun. It's like playing a Jenga.
David Duchovny
Yeah. It's a puzzle.
Coolap Ulaisak
And you finger cram, you know, you do.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, I mean, so much space.
David Duchovny
Oh, yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah. For me, space is like. That's where the freedom is. Is to fill.
David Duchovny
But how often are you like, fuck, I didn't bring a sweatshirt every single time. Okay. And so that you would rather dedicate time on your trip to finding a sweatshirt.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, but that's. That's where my trip is.
Coolap Ulaisak
That is the trip that's the juice of life for her.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's the trip.
David Duchovny
I forgot about. The juice of life.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah. The jol. Is. Oh, my God, I forgot a sweatshirt for the plane. I'm going to need something cozy. I go to the sweatshirt store at the airport.
David Duchovny
So you're. This is financially irresponsible.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, my God. This is.
David Duchovny
So you're buying clothing at the air. Who buys clothes at the airport?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And then every time I put it on, I'm like, remember that time?
Coolap Ulaisak
Remember that airport?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Cute little airport in Montana.
David Duchovny
Here's what I mean. I'm gonna be fully honest. If I showed up to the airport and I realized I didn't have a sweatshirt, I would go home. Guy would be like, I don't deserve this trip. I don't. No, no, no. I don't deserve this trip. I showed up foundationally unprepared.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
IPad time. IPad time at all airports for this. Of like, I.
David Duchovny
For shop. You're like, I gotta stop by the Spanx store. I gotta stop. I'm always shocked when there's a Spanx store in there. I'm like, what is this?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
For what is the volume? How much are they selling?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That certain travelers love to sort of discover.
Coolap Ulaisak
Is the cube for the body?
David Duchovny
Yeah, it is, I guess.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
It's a container.
David Duchovny
You can fit more into it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's right.
David Duchovny
It's making more space.
Coolap Ulaisak
It's a compression cube. Now he understands.
David Duchovny
But. Yeah. Okay, okay. So to the point, I have something that is for the. How cold it gets on the plane.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Okay.
David Duchovny
Okay. So one of the things that I. It's not a cube or something like that, but I bring A buff or a gator, which is like a tube of like merino wool or something. Performance that just goes around. You throw it around your neck and you like zip up your whatever. You've got something. And it is so great for the this is blowing on you version of.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And he's like in your head. Yeah, yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
You like this idea?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I love it. But I will have lost it on the last trip to Italy, so I will have to go to the buff store here in France.
David Duchovny
Yes. You're not going to get a. That's the bummer. You're not going to get a buff in France. Unless you're like finding the REI of France.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, but then I'll get some sub. Now you're in this cashmere shawl that I can fashion into a buff.
David Duchovny
Well, but now you're carrying a bulky shawl around the deal.
Coolap Ulaisak
She generally uses her cashmere sweaters as scarves. Scarves.
David Duchovny
Got it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Same material.
David Duchovny
Wild stuff.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah. I mean, it's in the.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay. Jason, Rebecca Liddy asks, does he bring an iron slash steamer or does he have a way to fold white oxfords to be crisp?
David Duchovny
So great question. No, I don't and I don't travel with either of those things. I did get a travel steamer at one point and it was just too much. It was too bulky. They don't make them small enough. Maybe they now do because this was a while ago. No, what I will always do is just ask the hotel. Almost all the hotels have an iron and an ironing board and most of them now if you ask for it will give you a steamer. So. And then the other trick is to. Sometimes you can just run the shower hot, hang your white shirt or your whatever and the wrinkle will come mostly out.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Agreed?
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Agreed.
David Duchovny
Agreed. Wow. Okay. A rare.
Coolap Ulaisak
A rare agreement between the two of you. Okay, we've got a gear cue from Katie Farrar. How does he feel about the silicone infinity tools like model M O D L? Are you familiar?
David Duchovny
I don't know what it is. Is there a picture?
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah, I'm to. I'll send you a. A link. It's. It's. Or what kind of multi purpose strap items. So let me send you.
David Duchovny
Oh, I know what this is going to be. I bet I know what this is going to be. This is those. It looks like a chain. A rubber chain. Yeah, I know what that is.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
So it looks like a rubber chain and it's made out of silicone.
David Duchovny
Yeah. It's like a bungee cord.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yes.
David Duchovny
Is essentially what it is.
Coolap Ulaisak
She loves a bungee cord.
David Duchovny
I know that I don't carry these, but this actually perfectly sets me up for two of the things that I am here to talk about.
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh, wow.
David Duchovny
Which is the. Hold on. Okay, this is Ziploc.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
What's in it though?
David Duchovny
And Ziploc. Okay, great. So this one is rubber bands. Oh, boy. Now I don't. To be clear, rubber bands. To be clear, I don't carry. I don't travel with this. All of this. Right. I travel with a quarter size version that has all these.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Okay.
David Duchovny
I brought this for us.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
So for the listening audience, Jason has pulled out of one of his pouches. Don't ask me which one. Don't ask me which one. A Ziploc bag. And then emptied onto the table an array of black rubber bands in many sizes from teeny tiny finger width to larger.
David Duchovny
Right.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
For cube width.
David Duchovny
Yes.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
What the would you need this stuff for?
David Duchovny
Okay. You would be shocked how often it is, shockingly how often having a rubber band comes in useful. For example, holding your flip flops together, like in a. Packing them or something. You know what I mean? Holding shoes, your.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Your thing is packed so tight. Of course they're. But are they in a bag?
David Duchovny
But they're always together. But they're always together.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Are they in a bag?
David Duchovny
Yes. And then you. But. Or shoes. You can put shoes in. I don't have a shoe bag with me. You put shoes in a bag, put this around it, and it gives it. It makes it a little smaller, makes it a little more compact. Both of these are that. This is the other. This is the other.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I'm not on this train. Don't even pretend.
David Duchovny
This is the other thing. A Velcro strap. A Velcro strap that you can put around something.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Name one thing you put that around.
David Duchovny
I do this with shoes a lot, actually, with shoes and boots. Where I'll put them in a thing and.
Coolap Ulaisak
Or.
David Duchovny
Or this can go around. Roll up your belt. Put this around it. Your belt stays rolled. Toss it in.
Coolap Ulaisak
It needs things secured.
David Duchovny
I want every. I don't want things coming undone. I don't want. I want it to stay where it is.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You're traveling on current aviation.
David Duchovny
No, no, no. I'm traveling on dirigibles.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Exactly.
David Duchovny
I travel only on dirigibles where all.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This jostling that's happening, where you're just. Your shoes are. Are becoming apart.
David Duchovny
It's not that they're flying apart, but it is nice to have stuff compacted. If I can. Like you put two shoes In a bag. They're loose in there, right? You know what?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Let's get used to.
David Duchovny
You know what?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Let's get this.
David Duchovny
Let's play this game. So this is a Bellroy packing cube. Okay? New Bellroy packing cubes. I can't remember what this one's called. Are terrific. And I don't remember. That's okay. I'll do mine.
Coolap Ulaisak
He's like, I just want your dirty shoes, Scott. Thanks for helping.
David Duchovny
So let's say I put my shoes in.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I want to know how much space.
David Duchovny
Why did he look around the room for shoes if he didn't want. Well, and then I just was like, I'm just gonna do mine. Doesn't matter.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I'm gonna get out my tape measure.
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh, my God.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I'm getting out my tape measure. I told you I need to measure this. Yes, please measure this.
David Duchovny
Let's use it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Okay, so here we are. And I'm measuring the width of this. It's about 7 inches. Inches in width.
David Duchovny
It's about 7 inches in width.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Okay, now let's. Let's see what you do with that.
Coolap Ulaisak
Wow. Look at him. The concentration.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And by now, by the way, I've already bought 18 toothpastes. While you're fingering and you're fondling and strapping your cube, the amount of time. Oh, my Lord.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay, measure it. Measure it, sue, come on.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Okay, measure it.
Coolap Ulaisak
Sujin.
David Duchovny
Look at her. She doesn't want to do it because she knows it's better. She knows it's so much smaller.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Hold on.
David Duchovny
How much?
Coolap Ulaisak
Hold on.
David Duchovny
Oh, now what is it? Hold on.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I said hold on. Yeah, it's four, five inches at the smallest. But at the.
David Duchovny
That's not it. That's not bad. That's.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
At the top. It's six and a half inches. You've lost half an inch at the top.
David Duchovny
You're measuring the empty space of the bag, and you know it. You're cheating. She's so mad that it works.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Look, look.
David Duchovny
Go ahead.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I'm hitting. I'm hitting solid.
David Duchovny
Okay.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Almost six inches here. Hitting solid.
David Duchovny
I'm still gonna be able to fit it in a smaller space, am I not?
Coolap Ulaisak
He's such a. Technically.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You are technically.
David Duchovny
Oh, she doesn't.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I will say an inch.
Coolap Ulaisak
The bag now has more sort of hourglass features, much like Marilyn Monroe.
David Duchovny
What a babe.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Coolop. Ever the Switzerland. Ever the Buddha of Zook's Cube.
David Duchovny
So anyway, having, like, little Velcro straps or rubber bands are great for organizing things, keeping stuff on track.
Coolap Ulaisak
I mean, I have this stuff to, like, organize my cords and such, like, in my office. But I don't necessarily travel with these guys. This is a thing.
David Duchovny
These are just. I grabbed the bags that I have a ton of these in. I only bring. I just bring a handful of these.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Of course, Yes.
David Duchovny
I decant these into smaller Ziploc.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Again, you guys, I just see a man.
David Duchovny
And you can end it there.
Coolap Ulaisak
Jason, before we move on, two of our listeners are loving you on Taskmaster.
David Duchovny
Oh, yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
Taskmaster and Scott and I are caught up. We love it too. It's such a thrill to watch you on.
David Duchovny
Thank you.
Coolap Ulaisak
It's amazing. Remember, you talked about. We've talked about Taskmaster before.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Which one was that?
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh, Jason, tell her what the show is.
David Duchovny
Taskmaster is a British panel show that is five comedians. It's hard to explain, but it's dead simple. If you watch it, it is five comedians are sitting in a studio. There's two comedians who are the hosts, and everybody has been given the same impossibly ridiculous tasks to accomplish. They have filmed you trying to and usually failing to accomplish these tasks. Masks. And then they edit that together. Show it to everybody. And everybody watches you fail in person. And then everybody kind of roasts each other, if that makes sense.
Coolap Ulaisak
Kids would love it.
David Duchovny
It is very family friendly. It is very funny, very silly. Did you guys ever watch. Nailed it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
David Duchovny
It has the energy of that. Like, you're not.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's like, lovable.
David Duchovny
You're not expected to win. It's not a. It is a competition or a game show, but not really. The tasks are just opportunities to riff and Love that.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Okay.
Coolap Ulaisak
Super funny in it. I love. I love the cast around you. Oh, they're all such a good time.
David Duchovny
Incredible, incredibly funny people.
Coolap Ulaisak
Scott, you want to say something?
David Duchovny
No. Now you want me to say something? Making room for Scotty holding space for me.
Coolap Ulaisak
I always do, baby.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Jason, jam.
Coolap Ulaisak
Sarah M. Asks, what's the next Monopoly Deal?
David Duchovny
It's in here. I brought a new game.
Coolap Ulaisak
All right.
David Duchovny
I couldn't remember if I had also mentioned there was another old game that I also love and travel with called Dutch Blitz. Did I talk about that? That's what I thought. Okay. So I brought a new game which is much in the same vein as Monopoly Deal. It is a board game that has been cardified. Have you guys ever played the game sequence?
Coolap Ulaisak
Yes.
David Duchovny
Okay, so there is now a board game, rather a card game version of sequence called sequence stacks. That is. Hold on. I'm just gonna find it here.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And I just want everyone to know that he is rifling through his many pouches, is unable to find. Oh, of course. No pouch. He's looking at his fourth pouch. Oh, this is because.
David Duchovny
It's because I was very disorganized when.
Coolap Ulaisak
I. Oh, no, no.
David Duchovny
When I had to do the.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
He's gonna go real mad.
Coolap Ulaisak
I feel it. This reminds me of Taskmaster. It's a lot like the season of by the way.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This is me go and breach. Trip me on everything.
David Duchovny
I took it out. It's here. I just took it out when we were doing the so. So this is the way you have in your room. It's in a clear Ziploc bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
By your rules.
David Duchovny
You should have seen it immediately. Well, it was in my Dopp kit, inexplicably, because it used to be in this, which I'd emptied out to put my shoes in to illustrate something.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It doesn't matter, does it?
David Duchovny
This is the whole failing of your system as well. It's not a fail. How dare you?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Too many pouches.
Coolap Ulaisak
You're like Rob Seychelles over here.
David Duchovny
Oh, wow. At least my feet work, and my.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Work here is done.
David Duchovny
Anyway, Sequence stacks is the game. It is a card game that is that you just need the chips and the cards, and it is a blast. It's super simple. It's dead simple, but I'm not going to explain it right now, but get it, get it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Is it, like, speed?
David Duchovny
You mean a game speed, or is it quick?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, like, no, it's not, like, frantic.
David Duchovny
It's much more like Monopoly deal. Like, you're strategizing, but it is quick. It's not like, oh, it takes two hours to play. It's not like. It's not like Monopoly deal. It's. Each round is 20 minutes, 15 minutes, whatever, you know? So very doable in that regard.
Coolap Ulaisak
Ooh, what an answer. Okay, so Stephanie Nero asks, current house shoe slash, clogs of choice. Let's see if there's an update.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
J.
Coolap Ulaisak
She personally loves the Halflingers.
David Duchovny
I don't know what that is. Oh, I don't know what that is. I'm still rocking a Birkenstock Zermatt. Unless it's the summer and then it's too hot because of that shearling inside. So I'm just wearing Birkenstocks in the house.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay. I thought this was something you kind of brought up before.
David Duchovny
Okay, so this looks like a glare up.
Coolap Ulaisak
That's what I'm thinking.
David Duchovny
You were zebra up before, which I like, but glaremat.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Glare up.
David Duchovny
Yeah, they're all like, Nordic Felted wool.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yes. This is German.
David Duchovny
I love these. The only thing is I need, if I'm gonna be around the house more, I need just a little bit more for arch support. Yes, I have a pair of those. These were big when I was at Middlebury and when I was in college, this was the crunchy granola.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It feels very Middlebury.
David Duchovny
Yes, Very, very Vermont hippie. Crunchy granola girls wearing these. Very cute. So that's a real blast from the past. But I need a little, I need that arch in a little bit of arch. Unfortunately, as a flat footed 52 year old.
Coolap Ulaisak
Speaking of Middlebury.
David Duchovny
Yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
You've been touring with. How did this get made? Dinosaur improv. Sarah M. Asked. Favorite chaotic Jess Stories from tour. Jess Sinclair.
David Duchovny
Oh, wow.
Coolap Ulaisak
You got anything?
David Duchovny
So many. So, so many. I mean, St. Clair on tour is truly unhinged. She is.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I feel that we would be similar. Is that not. Because whenever I, that's the girl that I'm like, you know what I'm talking about?
David Duchovny
Sister out of her mind on tour. She needs.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And you love it.
David Duchovny
I love it. But it is, it's so much because she will be like, oh, you know, we'll all get to the theater and you know, we'll have, you know, been in a hotel that's, you know, five blocks away, so it's convenient. She'll be like, I don't know, I, I got an Airbnb and it's, it's in some apartment building downtown and I don't know, it feels really sketchy and I'm a little nervous and I'm like, why, why did you do all that? What are you doing? Why? You know, it is, it really is. She is on tour. It's you, it's giving herself, it's as if she's giving herself challenges. She, if she's dabs. Because yes, you know what? Tour could be. You know what? I'm gonna stay in this hotel, I'm gonna watch the movie we're talking about tonight. I'm gonna order room service, I'm gonna walk over leisurely. I, I, it's gonna take me 10 minutes. Boom, I'm there. And she's like, I don't know. The Uber didn't know where I was and I had to order two Uber. It was absolute. Every day was madness, was like unparalleled madness. I want to be clear of her own creation. All of it was needless.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And if you did a, what do you call it, a post review of the tour and you say, how was that? For you. And she would say, time.
David Duchovny
She had a blast. I mean, we all had a blast. She was fantastic. She was having so much fun.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah. Yeah. All of that is. It's part of the fun.
David Duchovny
But I think part of it for her is. Yes. Constructing a situation in which she feels perhaps under threat. Because I think Jess needs to exist in a constant state of fight or flight in order to feel like.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's called being a woman.
David Duchovny
In order to feel like she's alive.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yes. It's called the female identity.
David Duchovny
It's like when she rented an apartment in New York City and made me come with her before she rented it to see if I thought that it was safe enough or if she could get grabbed between the subway station and the apartment and what she told me when we got there. Because the. It was like, four blocks away. The. It was like four city blocks. Not. It was not. Nothing crazy. But she was like, I think that if I start running at the top of the subway steps, I can run in a full sprint until I get to that building. I won't have to slow down and other words. And I was like, so did you spritz her? You don't have to do that. You're fine here. You can just walk to the building. But she felt as though. I'm getting grabbed here, man.
Coolap Ulaisak
Wow.
David Duchovny
Wow.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Amazing.
David Duchovny
And she did get grabbed, though, by the events of September 11, which she lived three blocks from. You could cut that.
Coolap Ulaisak
No, keeping it.
David Duchovny
Keeping it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Can't run fast enough for that.
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh, Jason, we're wrapping up.
David Duchovny
We're not wrapping up. I have so much stuff left.
Coolap Ulaisak
What are you talking about?
David Duchovny
I have so much stuff that I haven't talked about.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You can't possibly have more stuff.
David Duchovny
This Evergoods packing cube, which has two different sides. It's beautiful. It's neon orange one side, underwear, one side, like T shirt and sleep shorts. So, you know, boom, this comes out, and it's got all those essentials, and then it goes off to the side. Great. I'm very much trying to be off my phone. This is a big one for me.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Me.
David Duchovny
This is not a cube or anything like that, but this is a. I'm trying to be off my phone as much as possible. Even though I'm not a social media person or anything like that, it is very easy for me to get sucked into just the news app or just, like, just looking at it. Just look. Looking at it too much. So I got this thing that I. Now when I'm in the plane or on a. In a Car or if I have downtime or whatever, I will now instead of pulling out my phone, I will pull out, I got a. A phone size E reader. It's basically a Kindle. Like a Kindle. It's just not a Kindle brand, it's not an Amazon brand, but it is basically just an E reader. So that now instead when I'm pulling something out to, you know, mindlessly look at it, I'm mindlessly looking at a book, you know, which I'm in my mind, I'm like, no, no, no, I want to be reading more books. And since I got this thing, I've read like four books this year, which is. I haven't read four books in a year and probably a decade.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, Just squeezing in that time, just.
David Duchovny
Like getting a couple chapters at a time.
Coolap Ulaisak
What is it called? What's the name of the device?
David Duchovny
It's called a Boox and it's B o o x. Palma 2 p a l m a two books. Palma 2. And it's great. It's super lightweight. It hooks up to. I just hooked it up to the Kindle app, but you can hook it up to like the library apps to Libby or Kanopy or any of those. And then also like I save long articles to instant paper. I have hooked it up so I can read a long New Yorker profile. Something that I was like, oh, I do want to, I do want to read that article. And so that a lot of times now on planes, I will just crush like all long form articles or a bunch of stuff instead of watching a bunch of videos I download, you know? Exactly.
Coolap Ulaisak
And how big, I'm curious, is the font for you?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Are you, do you want me to get out my tape measure?
David Duchovny
It's pretty big. I mean, I keep the font pretty big.
Coolap Ulaisak
I need it pretty big. I'm just curious.
David Duchovny
Let me see.
Coolap Ulaisak
So it's just like, it's big and then you just scroll.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's the size of a very large iPhone.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yeah.
David Duchovny
Yes, yes, it's the same. Can I interject? So you're just reading stuff on your phone. What do you mean? That's a phone and you're just reading.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Stuff on your phone.
David Duchovny
Yes, you're right. But it's not junk I'm reading. Okay, I'm not.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I just want to be clear.
David Duchovny
You're reading stuff on your phone, you've.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Traded one phone for another phone and.
David Duchovny
Now you're reading stuff on your phone. Yes, but what I've done is I've traded a phone that only gets that for me, it's a dumber phone. Yes. It doesn't get any email. It doesn't get any text. It doesn't give me YouTube. It doesn't. You're sending articles to it, and now you're. How can I get rid of this mic? You're bragging. You're bragging about all the books you read, and now you're admitting you're sending articles to it. Next you're going to send videos to it. No, no, no, no. It's only books and articles. What an. What an.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Recipes. That's it. Books, articles, recipes.
David Duchovny
Okay, so I'm at that size.
Coolap Ulaisak
That's pretty good. It's pretty good.
David Duchovny
Of.
Coolap Ulaisak
This is interesting.
David Duchovny
One of the James. One of the James Crumley. The Milo. Milo Dragovich books. Detective books. Fantastic. But yeah, no, you're right. I am still looking at a device. It's just a device that is e ink instead of illuminated so I can read it in bed. And it's not like keeping me up. It's not activating me that way. And it's not trash. I'm not looking at. At YouTube or nonsense. I'm looking at a book.
Coolap Ulaisak
These are strategies to trick yourself into being. Yeah.
David Duchovny
Oh, I don't love it. I don't think it's great. I mean, I'd love to just sit and relax and look at nature, which I try and do, but raw dog. Yeah, I'd love to raw dog everything. I mean, not all of us can raw dog stuff like you, Scotty. What else?
Coolap Ulaisak
What other things do you want to show us? Jason does not want us to end.
David Duchovny
I. I did bring gifts. Gifts.
Coolap Ulaisak
What?
David Duchovny
You guys gave me a wonderful Christmas gift of a beautiful toolbox.
Coolap Ulaisak
Yes.
David Duchovny
In which I keep all of my gear. Travel like these. All these things, rubber bands. All this stuff came out of the toolbox. That's where I keep all that stuff. So that if I need to refill or I need to boom it go, I go straight there. Not in the toolbox. But for you guys, I brought got. Okay. I didn't wrap them, but here.
Coolap Ulaisak
Okay.
David Duchovny
This is in my opinion and suchin a great Ziploc here. Not water.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I was say do.
Coolap Ulaisak
You can take my bag.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Now, this is a perfect shoe.
David Duchovny
Yes.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Bag for me.
David Duchovny
Agree. Yeah, agree. Now, you could also. It doesn't matter. You could also just get a shoe bag that will be your shoe bag forever.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
No, no, no, no. That's too much of a commitment. I don't like it. I like to be free. I told you. I like to Be free. I like to be uncommitted. I like to be a harlot in the streets.
Coolap Ulaisak
She just straight up took my bag.
David Duchovny
This is okay.
Coolap Ulaisak
Wow.
David Duchovny
This is unquestionably the best, like sleep mask for a flight you've ever had. Really incredible.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I thought I fell in love again when you said eating.
David Duchovny
That's why there's a puddle under your chair. Because I said e ink.
Coolap Ulaisak
I just want to call out. He didn't have a chance to. He said form function at least twice. And I wasn't able to talk about that. But he said form function twice.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I don't know that this episode is even listenable. Because we're talking, but man, some things come out of your mouth.
David Duchovny
This episode is more than listenable. People will jerk off to this episode.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
People. Be specific.
David Duchovny
Soochin will jerk off to this episode.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Whoa. This is high tech. First of all, the material.
David Duchovny
Oh, tell me more.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's very sleek. My problem with my sleep mask is the free one that I get on an airplane and it always leaves the dents or it moves around. But this is a very sleek material.
David Duchovny
And once you. The eye guys. The eye guys. The eye cups are adjustable so you can fit it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Eye cups.
David Duchovny
So you can fit.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
What is this called?
Coolap Ulaisak
They're detachable molded eye cups.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh.
David Duchovny
Go ahead.
Coolap Ulaisak
Wow. Go ahead, put that on.
David Duchovny
I mean, you might want to do it under your headphones. You fucking maniac.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You love it.
David Duchovny
I do.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You love it. You want to crawl over this table.
David Duchovny
I do.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And eat ink me.
David Duchovny
I would love. I would love to examine your form and function.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
There is no light.
Coolap Ulaisak
Light. Yeah.
David Duchovny
And that's with cans on.
Coolap Ulaisak
That's with cans on. There's a thermo regulating fabric. There's a peekaboo layer.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Peekaboo layer.
Coolap Ulaisak
And Jason. Jason. He is.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
The cups come off. The cups come off too.
Coolap Ulaisak
Look inside here. Look inside here. There are noise reducing earplugs.
David Duchovny
There are.
Coolap Ulaisak
Wait.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It comes with its own pouch. Oh, my God. He's so excited. He's tearing.
David Duchovny
He's tearing.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You guys. He's tearing. He looks like a kitty. Little boy. Misty eyed.
David Duchovny
I got you something. With its own little pouch.
Coolap Ulaisak
Look at that. This is a nice pouch. Not just like a throw away. There's Velcro involved.
David Duchovny
There's trash. It's not gonna rip. It's not gonna. I mean, there's a hook.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
The pouch alone is worth the box cut.
David Duchovny
Two suchins filled the pouch with old tampons.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Tuna fish.
Coolap Ulaisak
No.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
What's different from what you're saying? Hey, tuna fish.
Coolap Ulaisak
That's what we call you, baby.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Wow. Wow.
Coolap Ulaisak
This is amazing.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You know what? I just had a little hit of something and I'm gonna share because again, safe. I just was. I looked at this and I said, this is so nice. Yeah, it's too nice for me.
Coolap Ulaisak
Oh, no.
David Duchovny
You know what I mean? Okay, give it back. I'll give it to somebody else. I'll give you trash. I forget. I could have brought you, right?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
And I would have just rolled with it. I wouldn't have paused.
David Duchovny
See, I think what's interesting is I.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Said, am I worthy of this?
David Duchovny
I think you should think about more things as you are worthy of nicer versions of some of the stuff you're carrying.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
This is what you're trying to tell me?
Coolap Ulaisak
Finally.
David Duchovny
Yes.
Coolap Ulaisak
This run of I left you at.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
The hotel two days in and you've divorced me again. Oh, boy. To think about.
David Duchovny
What's the other thing I was going to share? You. Because when I get to a plane.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah.
David Duchovny
I. I don't want anything under my seat. Right.
Coolap Ulaisak
I want to keep it hanging on a hook.
David Duchovny
So. Oh. So one thing I will say, I bring a flat water bottle.
Coolap Ulaisak
Wow. Never seen that before. Never seen that before.
David Duchovny
This is a memo.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I want to know how you got there. I want to know how you got to the flat water.
David Duchovny
The first thing I want to say is the. The eye mask is called a turtle eye mask. I know you talk about stuff like that. This is a memo bottle. M E M O.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's a flat.
David Duchovny
They make a plasticky version of it that's very lightweight. And this is the metal version.
Coolap Ulaisak
I mean, it's matte black, of course. I love it.
David Duchovny
And it's flat. And that's great for packing, you know, if you want to be. If you're somebody that travels with a water bottle, it can be bulky and eat into your bag if you're putting. You know, so have this and it's great.
Coolap Ulaisak
I think what we're. There's a lot of things we're gonna walk away with after this episode. But I think more than your other appearances, there has been a focus on flat.
David Duchovny
Oh, yeah. This is perhaps the only portion of my life that I like flat things.
Coolap Ulaisak
That's right. Because you are on record.
David Duchovny
Oh, yeah.
Coolap Ulaisak
He likes that ass popping.
David Duchovny
Everything else. Jiggling everything else. I want it jugsy. But when I pack, I want it flat as a pancake. Give me that flat butt. But for everything else, I want it G cups, baby. Boom, boom, boom, boom. So when I get To a plane. I. I take out. Maybe I'll take out this water bottle. But I open my bag and I pull out a tote bag. And the tote bag.
Coolap Ulaisak
This is a tom bin.
David Duchovny
This is a tom bin tote bag, zip top tote bag. And the tote bag has everything I will need at my chair. At my chair.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
The backpack then goes up above. Up above. And then this is your. And you hang that from.
David Duchovny
With a hero clip on.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
What. What do you hang on the seat.
David Duchovny
In front of me?
Coolap Ulaisak
We have photos. He's shown the stuff.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
But what if the person in front of you reclines planes?
David Duchovny
It doesn't matter. It's the same. It's. I mean, it doesn't. It's just there. Okay. You know, and it's just.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's like flapping around and you're like.
David Duchovny
No, what am I, what am I? Who am I flying with? It's flapping around and you're just. The plane's not doing a lot of like, sudden.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I don't know, it just flapping around. You're like, oh, God. You know, you think it's gonna get up to my face and. And you're gonna tie your shoes and the thing is swinging.
David Duchovny
Did I take my shoes off on a plane Suchin. Absolutely not.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, yeah, that's the first thing I.
David Duchovny
Oh, you know what I do? You know what?
Coolap Ulaisak
I pass. No, you don't.
David Duchovny
You know what I stir up.
Coolap Ulaisak
You don't take your shoes off.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Of course I do.
David Duchovny
You shouldn't. You know why? Because planes are the most disgusting places on the planet.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I gotta air my pigsies out.
David Duchovny
Calling them pigsies is so upsetting.
Coolap Ulaisak
You're keeping a sock on?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yes, of course I'm okay.
Coolap Ulaisak
Wait a minute.
David Duchovny
Are you going to the bathroom and socks? No. Are you one of those piss sock people?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
That's disgusting.
David Duchovny
Yes, I know it's disgusting.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
No, I. I'm in and out of these bare feet. I have socks on and I take them out and I just usually crisscross applesauce it.
David Duchovny
Oh, so you're putting your dirty, grubby, plain feet. Socks. Now. Up on your chair. Next on your pants.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, that's fine. I mean, the pants are going to come off.
David Duchovny
And what, are you gonna wash them? Are you washing them?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I'm licking them.
David Duchovny
Are you washing them?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I'm not licking them.
David Duchovny
Are you washing them?
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Them.
David Duchovny
Those pants and socks. What, they just go jammed straight into a suitcase is my guess.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Working on them.
David Duchovny
Just jam. How. How often do you come back from a trip with Pink eye is my question.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It has only happened twice.
David Duchovny
Here's something I would believe that. Here's something I've started bringing with me. Little flat pack. Right.
Coolap Ulaisak
Flat again.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Oh, God.
David Duchovny
Open it up.
Coolap Ulaisak
What's inside?
David Duchovny
Hotel slippers. Hotel slippers. So I can have slippers at the hotel.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Yeah, but that's not hot.
David Duchovny
Even if they don't provide slippers.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Hotel grunge on that.
David Duchovny
Yeah. That's why you Clorox wipe them. You Clorox wipe them, and they go in their little case.
Coolap Ulaisak
Do you.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
To be honest, do you Clorox wipe your pants?
David Duchovny
Every pain. All the time. My pants? No. Here's what I do, though. The minute I get to my destination, everything I'm wearing on the plane goes to laundry. So I'm constantly getting. Or I do it in the sink with. You know, I'll travel with laundry detergent.
Coolap Ulaisak
Jason uses a towel one time. And if anything touches the ground, it's filthy.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's filthy.
David Duchovny
It's trash. Now, the other thing I do, which is part of the tom bin ecosystem, is they've got all these O rings.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
Don't say that you can hang.
Coolap Ulaisak
Well, there's form functions.
David Duchovny
You can for form, and for function, you can hang their little pouches off of here. So inside my tote bag. He is hard right now, inside my tote bag is a little pouch. And this little pouch has stuff in it. But. But this one has a flashlight on it. So you can just. You can use that. I've discovered this little triangular pouch I'm obsessed with. And it just holds another pair of AirPods. Extra AirPods.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
It's like a dumpling. Because I consider you a friend. We need to save him from himself right now before he's too far.
David Duchovny
How frequently am I like, oh, my AirPods are dead. Wait a minute. Boom.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
For those listening.
David Duchovny
And I know exactly where they are.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
You clipped on a cord inside of a tote bag, a tiny zippable, A little triangular pouch, 2 inches by 2 inches. That's on a long clip. And then you clip that to the. Oh, my God.
Coolap Ulaisak
Well, you love bungee cords and carabiners and all that stuff, so now look at that Sujin. You don't think I think she liked it?
David Duchovny
And ask your. Look at. Look at me for a second.
Coolap Ulaisak
Why'd you put salt in that?
David Duchovny
Do you think you could find a use for that? You don't. You're rejecting it because it comes from me foundationally, you reject it. But I think if you came across that in a store, you'd be like, oh, I could use this. I could. I know exactly how I could use this. I could roll up my salt exactly like cool up said and jam it in there. And then it's always there. I know exactly. It's always hanging in my tote bag.
Coolap Ulaisak
That's our show. Thank you to Jason Mantzoukas. Thank you to this episode's engineer, Scott.

Thank you both for having me so much. This has been one of my all time favorite things to do with you both and I genuinely am out in the world so frequently and people will say zooks cubes to me or they'll, they'll, they'll, or they'll ask me a cube related question. That is so wonderful and makes me so happy. The only thing that I am genuinely interested in talking to fans about is cubes. I don't want to talk about my podcast. I don't want to talk about my career. I just want to talk about packing. So thank you for giving me me a platform. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for being so wonderful. Suchin, I don't know what you're up to, but I am captivated by it. This has been one of my favorite things. It's really the best. I'm devastated. My hope sincerely is that we can do a series of Zoox cubes specials.
Coolap Ulaisak
I think we're doing it.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
I think this is it. We did it.
Coolap Ulaisak
No more.
Susu Galubu Sushi Park
All more.
