Has a product come into our add to Cart universe more perfect for me than Ghia? Ghia is the non alcoholic aperitif that is changing my whole summer happy hour vibe. I can now sparkle and pop with the rest of the cool gang.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Sue, I love when there's something that lets you come out of your coffin. You can pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop out of that coffin. And you can even cut Ghia with your sparkling beverage of choice. A spritz of lime and you're alive. Sue. Friends, Ghia is the botanical booze free drink that tastes satisfyingly bitter and grown up. And the best part? You won't regret your life choices the next morning.
Soojin Park
If you still want a little zing at your next get together. This is an elevated drink with ingredients that read like a midsummer night's dream. Elegant elderflower, sumac, chili, rosemary. You get the drift. It is so chic.
Kulap Vilay Sak

Boy, do we have an incredible ad to queue today. It's a new pod called what we Spend where each episode a person documents a full week of their lives and all the ways money factors in people.
Kulap Vilay Sak
From across financial spectrums, from a long haul truck driver to a marketing director to a teacher's assistant. It's all the ways they make money, spend it and the emotions they have along the way.
Soojin Park
It is such a fantastic listen. Listen to what We Spend An Odyssey original podcast available now wherever you get your podcasts.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Lemonada.
Soojin Park
Also with that fire Boy, wait.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Welcome to another episode of Add to Cart, the podcast where we discuss what we buy and buy into and what it says about who we are. I am your auntie Kulap Vilay Sak.
Soojin Park
And I am your other auntie, Soojin Park. And I say it with the soft voice.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Oh, this is the most.
Soojin Park
I say it with the gentle voice.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Your edges have been sanded round.
Soojin Park
Let me tell you, there will be no decibels from me today. It will be calm.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Npr, like soothing.
Soojin Park
That's right.
Kulap Vilay Sak
I've put on my poutylist right now, but go ahead, keep going. Go, go.
Soojin Park
And we're under siege. We're not in a different way. Guys, we have a very big announcement. Coolop. You do it. I thought I would and yet I'm not going to.
Kulap Vilay Sak
You're not going To. Okay. All right. Okay, guys, let's all circle up. Let's circle up here. Let's all take a knee.
Soojin Park
Aunties have a big announcement.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Big announcement. Everyone, gather round. We are having a team meeting here. Okay. You know, Coach sue and Coach Koo have something to say. Number one, we love you guys. All right. We love you guys.
Soojin Park
We love your work.
Kulap Vilay Sak
We love what you're up to. We love your support of us. But it is with a heavy heart that I am tasked with saying that we are wrapping the show up as we know it. As we know it. Sue.
Soojin Park
Producer Tony said maybe this will spark some sort of divorce conversation. Trauma. And Ku and I are married into the afterlife.
Kulap Vilay Sak
That's right.
Soojin Park
So, everybody, I apologize if that brought up some bubbly feelings. We're together. We're just going to say goodbye to add to cart as it stands for now in this iteration.
Kulap Vilay Sak
That's right. That's right. Sue. Sue suu. Oh, Sue.
Soojin Park
Five years.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Five years.
Soojin Park
Come on. Are you kidding me? We almost made it to legal forever in California laws.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Oh, sure, sure. She's talking about common law marriage. But again, sue and I, our relationship, stronger than ever.
Soojin Park
We have made it stronger than ever. I would say even stronger. Oh, yeah. We're now out on this dinghy on our own.
Kulap Vilay Sak
On our own. We are.
Soojin Park
We are at sharing one paddle. Sharing one paddle, looking for the other one. Taking turns just spinning our canoe.
Kulap Vilay Sak
That's right.
Soojin Park
Yeah.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Our canoe is circling. It's a tight circle. And yeah, look, look, we're really proud of what we've done in these five years, Sue. We've won awards.
Soojin Park
We've been in Times Square. Yeah, My face wasn't up on a billboard even when I was in Times Square.
Kulap Vilay Sak
See, see? We've done things, Sue.
Soojin Park
We have done things. We've done things on awards.
Kulap Vilay Sak
We've been featured by Apple and Spotify numerous times.
Soojin Park
Remember that talk show?
Kulap Vilay Sak
We were on a talk show.
Soojin Park
Well, my body was on it, but, boy, was it early. Let's not roll that clip.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Oh, here it is, guys. Look. We started during the pandemic. Our country's still in crisis, and, you know, at least we're alive, Sue. That's one way that let's. Let's look for these silver linings, Sue.
Soojin Park
We wanted to make sure that we celebrated Asian American Heritage Month.
Kulap Vilay Sak
We did that. We sure did.
Soojin Park
Five years of that. Every week we sit in front of this mic, I have no idea what will come out of our mouths. And at the beginning of this journey, that was one of the most Frightening and unsettling propositions.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Absolutely. Because you weren't used to being the subject. Suchin Pak, MTV CNN correspondent. She was the journalist. But it's been my role.
Soojin Park
Never on cnn.
Kulap Vilay Sak
The tables have turned. I thought you were on cnn. No, I thought you did stuff on cnn. Did you do like a documentary on cnn?
Soojin Park
No. I mean, if I did, I don't remember it.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Okay, well, there's time. There's time. You've got time now.
Soojin Park
Okay, but my point is, the tables.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Turned and you became the subject and this became the documentary on Suchin Park.
Soojin Park
Right. And it has gone on for four and a half years. Too long. We're done. You know what I mean? Like, I cannot believe that we. I have lasted this long and have shared so much and yet could share another five years. It may. As of this recording, we are still figuring out what is ADD to cart. Because we have this great audience.
Kulap Vilay Sak
We do. We've got a catalog of episodes.
Soojin Park
Catalog of episodes. And now I know that this is a healing and safe place so I can share. And boy, do I have a big update.
Kulap Vilay Sak
What?
Soojin Park
On my bladder. And I'm not gonna drop it here.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Oh, my gosh.
Soojin Park
You know, I'm gonna leave you guys hanging.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Wow.
Soojin Park
Because there's more to that story. And that's how I started this journey.
Kulap Vilay Sak
She's not gonna drop her pee here. She's gonna hold that bladder. Just gonna hold it for another time.
Soojin Park
Thanks to Modern medicine. What I am.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Okay. I don't know about you guys, but my interest has piqued and I want a follow up. Well, what we know right now, folks, is we definitely need a break. We just need a break. Look, I say heavy heart, but I'm gonna be honest. My load is lightened.
Soojin Park
Well, the workload is lightened. But it is weird. Cause I go through my days just tabbing and saving for future records. I'm like, oh, this is gonna be a fun one. And it's been weird to do like the countdown. I'm like, what is gonna happen to this compulsion? Like, I'm gonna go off the rails if I don't have somewhere positive and constructive to pour this Descartes energy into.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Well, that's very scary that it was actually very scary.
Soojin Park
That's the heavy heart.
Kulap Vilay Sak
That is hard. Yeah.
Soojin Park
Because we have created, at least for ourselves, an outlet. Yes. What I call a mental stopgap. Because it should go into professional help.
Kulap Vilay Sak
But it's almost like ADD to CART for un. For me, I think this is true for me too. Is sort of a Liminal space. And in between.
Soojin Park
An in between. And nobody's surprised to hear this from us at this moment, since we're all just reporting from the coffins. We all know that we're always in the in between.
Kulap Vilay Sak
That's true.
Soojin Park
But most importantly, we're going to be updating you guys and keeping in touch, light touch. Because as KU said, we need a break.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Know that.
Soojin Park
Yeah.
Kulap Vilay Sak
The summer shall be off for the most part.
Soojin Park
Oh, God, yeah. Everybody's summer should be off. Yeah, true.
Kulap Vilay Sak
And then we just might return. Same, same, but different. We don't know, but probably. I mean, come on, we've had over 200 plus episodes. It's gotta go somewhere, right? So it's really, really important.
Soojin Park
Wait a minute. We've got all these people listening. We've got our die hard carders out there.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Sure.
Soojin Park
Why don't you guys DM us? What is the version of this that could be fun? I don't know. Maybe they have some ideas. We don't know. Is it a newsletter? Is it a podcast? Is it a video thing?
Kulap Vilay Sak
Is it all of the above?
Soojin Park
Is it all of the above?
Kulap Vilay Sak
Is it IG Lives?
Soojin Park
Is it a sock line?
Kulap Vilay Sak
What is it?
Soojin Park
I'm. I thought no ideas were bad ideas at this point.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yeah, sorry, I just didn't expect that one. But okay. Sockline.
Soojin Park
Is it Zooks Cubes?
Kulap Vilay Sak
He's already suggested that we rebrand it as Zooks Cubes. Well, it already came out Zeux Cubes without Zook Every week.
Soojin Park
Yeah, that. But is it something. You know what I mean? Is it something else is what we're saying? Or is it the same, different version?
Kulap Vilay Sak
Is it Auntie's After Dark? Is it, oh, is there a place in a space where we can truly let our hair down? Wear panties and bras are cap.
Soojin Park
I'm less than the wind. Okay, all right, calm down, calm down. You're frothing.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Well, I thought there was no bad idea. So you can say sock line in this. With these tariffs, what's more ridiculous?
Soojin Park
No, I'm gonna. I'm gonna learn how to knit.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Oh, okay.
Soojin Park
It will be limited run.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Let's just say, oh, wow, Auntie's limited here. There it is. There it is. It's really, really important. Nibblings for you to follow us on. Add to Cart Pod on Instagram and our new website. Join our email list. Sign Sue. Let me finish this. I said it's really important. Okay, Okay. I want our listeners our devotion.
Soojin Park
Start again. Start again. I wasn't laughing at that. This is something Edited.
Kulap Vilay Sak
This is.
Soojin Park
We can't afford to edit it.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Moving forward. We're marching forward.
Soojin Park
Try it again. Go ahead, do it. Do it again. Live.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Okay. This could be.
Soojin Park
See this could be a version. Is it live like this? Do you want this unedited? Us is. It's a sport not for the faint hearted. Injuries. There's soreness. You'll hate it at times and every morning. That'll be a rough start to a day. But at the end will you feel better? Will you feel more agile? Will you not have pineo porous? What's it called? Osteopenio. I don't know. Penioporis.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Does that have to do with your dick has holes. Poor dick. Poor dick.
Soojin Park
This is not what you're doing is pitching after dark and that's not what this is. We're actually in the light Omeoporous. That's what you said. Listen, it's called something like that where you like not. It's not full on osteoporosis.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Somebody said it right because it wasn't me.
Soojin Park
But it's like the step before anyway. We're sidetracked.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Keep on track me Go ahead.
Soojin Park
Yeah, do it again. It's really important.
Kulap Vilay Sak
It's really, really important. Niblings for you to follow us on add to cart pod on Instagram. I know all of you aren't doing it. Okay? I'm auntie. No bullshit.
Soojin Park
What are you doing? Well by the way, it's the only place you'll be getting us in a while way too.
Kulap Vilay Sak
We got a new website. We got a new website. So at the end I'm gonna tell you that address and I want you to join the email list just so you can be updated on what our new form is.
Soojin Park
Why the suspense?
Kulap Vilay Sak
See, you haven't bought it yet. We don't know what the website is.
Soojin Park
We don't have a website. But we're going to have one by you hear this and then you will know what it is. Yeah. As soon as I purchase it.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yeah. Because right now we're doing.
Soojin Park
Yeah. I didn't want people to think that we were doing some like you know, some bullshit marketing suspense thing we don't know. I didn't want you to think that we were trying to keep you in the dark on purpose to wait till the end of the episode. We have to also wait till the end of the episode.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Suchin Pak. This is what I predict is that you and I. You and I together are two headed hydra. Okay? We're an add to cart monster.
Soojin Park
Correct.
Kulap Vilay Sak
And yes, this is ending, but pretty soon we're gonna open a new vein. Suchin. We are gonna open a new vein and we are gonna have a new form. You and I don't know what it is, but we rarely know what anything is or what is happening at any given time. But the true delight.
Soojin Park
The true delight for listeners and for us, I think, creatively, is that we're going to be doing it on our own. So if there were some rules before.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yeah, no guardrails.
Soojin Park
Now there's no guardrails and no support. So God knows what you're going to get. And that, too, like the hardcore Die Hard Carders, is exciting.
Kulap Vilay Sak
In the meanwhile, we're not saying goodbye in this episode, so if you're not.
Soojin Park
No, no, no, no, no, no. By the way, I wanted to.
Kulap Vilay Sak
I know you did.
Soojin Park
Cool. Said I think we owe them some time and some thoughtfulness. And I said I was going to push end record, so. So Cool up has thoughtfully programmed.
Kulap Vilay Sak
I just feel that, like, let's have this month together, Sue. Yeah, let's have. Let's end this rom com. Correct. Okay.
Soojin Park
Okay.
Kulap Vilay Sak
All right. Let's have a full act. Okay, so we've got this month, the month of June. This is Sue. This is your time of power. This. It's summertime.
Soojin Park
Oh, yeah.
Kulap Vilay Sak
You love summer.
Soojin Park
I love summer.
Kulap Vilay Sak
You love it. And so we've planned three to four warm, wonderful shows for you. I say three to four, because bangers. Yes. It's all depending on Zook's scheduling.
Soojin Park
Oh, that was a surprise.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Well, let's billboard. Let's build some excitement here, Sue. Let's keep them excited, waiting, you know.
Soojin Park
Oh, right, right, right.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Like, hey, something's coming out. Let's billboard. Yeah, Billboard this ending run.
Soojin Park
Okay. Don't know what that means, but I'm gonna do it.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Okay. Sue, do you have anything else you want to say at this time before we take a break? Do you have any feelings or thoughts or.
Soojin Park
No, I think socks are coming.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Socks are coming. And I just want to say that this has just been such a rewarding podcast to do on every level. I loved everybody we worked with at Lemonada. My relationship with sue has just really. I don't. You know, I'm so excited to. To just use my personal time to just spelunk deeper and dive deeper into that relationship, you know, get the business side out of it, you know, now it's just pure friendship. Pure.
Soojin Park
There wasn't that much business going on, let's be honest, for five years, lest anyone have any misconceptions about our relationship. We have been dry humping for five years and coming back for more and that's our break.
Kulap Vilay Sak
That's beautiful. Let's take a break on that note and we'll be back in a few.
Soojin Park

Carter's it's my absolute delight in life when I get to tell you about something that I love and it's affordable. Let us tell you about Goodr. They sell sunglasses that start at just 25 bucks and they're so substantial. Cool. Look at this pair I brought to Mexico City with me. It's the limited edition wristband Wanderlust. Now the frames kind of have almost like this rubbery coating on it that make them anti slip and bounce.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Ooh, so chic. And you can just throw them in your suitcase and not worry about scratches or dings on overpriced sunglasses. They're polarized and so damn cute. Hey Julia, Louis Dreyfus here. If you listen to me on my Wiser Than Me podcast, you probably already know that I'm an investor and an evangelist for the Mill Food Recycler There are a lot of reasons to love mill, but for me, it's all about the impact. Keeping food out of the garbage is one of the most powerful things we can do to help the planet. Every single day. We're talking banana peels, carrot tops, old takeout. When that stuff heads to the landfill, it becomes a huge driver of climate change. If you already compost, great. But of course there's the smell, the flies, the running to the curb every day with a little leaking compost bag made of cornstarch. That's where mill comes in. It makes keeping food out of the trash as easy as dropping it in. It can handle nearly anything from a turkey carcass to like 20 avocado pits. It works automatically while you sleep. You can keep filling it for weeks and it never ever smells. Mill makes dry, nutrient rich grounds that you can use in your garden, add to your compost, feed to your chickens, or mill can get them back to a small farm for you. But you kind of have to live with mill to really get it. And that's why they offer a risk free trial. Go to mill.com wiser for an exclusive offer.
Kulap Vilay Sak
We are back on add to cart. Sue, should we start with you and we'll just like go back and forth or what? How do you feel?
Soojin Park
Yeah, let's do it.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Okay.
Soojin Park
You know, we. I want to start an add to cart with a good old remove from cart.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Oh, okay.
Soojin Park
And as we slide into the summer months, you know, a lot of parents understand the pain of having to set up play dates for young children. And setting up playdates for young children at this age requires that you communicate with another adult. And that adult is in charge of your child's best friend.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Right.
Soojin Park
Remove from cart. Or actually also what do I do about a cart when the parent that you interact with is someone you don't like?
Kulap Vilay Sak
Uh huh, uh huh.
Soojin Park
Someone. Every time you have to reach out to them, you get a pit in your stomach and you don't want to do it. In any other circumstance in my life, staring at the barrel of 50 years old, I'd be like, fuck this. There's no very few times when I'm responding to a text or a call or an email where I'm doing it despite the pit in my stomach.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Right. It's almost like you are hostage to the situation.
Soojin Park
But yeah, the alternative is, is my child doesn't get to see her best friend, so I have to put on wet, soggy, big ass panties every single time I interact with this parent. Do you Know what I mean? Have you had this experience yet?
Kulap Vilay Sak
No, not yet, but this is my first.
Soojin Park
Okay, that's pretty good. You know, I've had a good run. I've had 10 years with one and 12 with the other. And this is the first time where I'm like, this sucks.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, it's interesting as Emmy is in her first year of preschool and she's doing it part time, there's certainly, you know, a community of east side cool parents at our preschool. Luckily for me, one of our best friends kids are there. There's a few people that know that we know this is a slightly different suit, but just like, I can kind of when going to, like, parent events or open houses and stuff, like, you can kind of see, like, these, like, weird sort of clicks that form and like, I don't know. And part of me is because I'm so much older, period, where it's just like, I have my friends and so it is something that, you know, has come up in therapy, if I'm being honest, which is like, oh, it's like, yeah, I've set up my life to only be around people I like and are interested in. And I do see coming down the pipeline having to socialize, communicate, connect with people who aren't my cup of tea. You know what I mean? Which I kind of felt like I was past, but now totally understand that that's not the case.
Soojin Park
Yeah. Your kids sort of drag you into a lot of things that you thought, oh, okay, school is done, homework is done. After school, camp is done. You know, you went through all that. Yeah. And you're like, oh, I have to do it all over again. Yeah, you have to do it. And it's worse because your decisions aren't your own. Now it's Every decision is. Is a consensus, there's another partner involved, there's your kids involved. Yeah. So, yeah, it is kind of interesting how, like, I find myself in these situations. I'm like, how what? I didn't see this coming. But you're right, there's a lot coming down the pipeline, and this is definitely one that I did not see coming down the pipeline. And I don't know. Truthfully, there's isn't. There is no answer to this. I just have to deal with it.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yeah.
Soojin Park
And it's interesting because what I want to do is put it on my daughter, who's 10.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Sure, sure, sure, sure, sure, sure, sure.
Soojin Park
And be like, you fucking text that guy. He's the worst. But I can't do that.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Okay.
Soojin Park
And by the way, she loves him.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Okay, what's the. Can you give me a sense of dynamic? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Soojin Park
The dynamic is if I'm reading into it. And by reading into it, I mean trusting my gut.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Okay.
Soojin Park
Instincts. Yeah, instincts. Which is very interesting. Reading into it, like, has such a negative connotation when it just means you're. Sometimes that it means you're trusting your instincts. But when I interact with him, I'm like, oh, I'm just a dumb mom. Female figure.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Oh, gosh.
Soojin Park
In the way now on a much more surface level, it's like very curt. Very like. Nope, Can't. Sorry. Not even. Sorry. No. You know, it's a lot of that. And I'm like, okay. Oh, okay. Well, that was weird because I did that for you when you asked. But okay. And yeah, so it's a very strange dynamic.
Kulap Vilay Sak
So a little self serving. A little. Yeah. You said Kurt a little.
Soojin Park
Yeah, it's very short.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Abrasive.
Soojin Park
Abrasive, Correct.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Self serving. Did I say that already?
Soojin Park
Yeah.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Not very cooperative.
Soojin Park
Yes. Not very. That's what it's more like. It's not about the self serving part. It is. It's just like the cooperation. I'm like, I mean, we all recognize that these two are attached to the hip, and so who cares about our relationship? You know what I mean? I'm not looking to have, you know, mutual family time. I'm just saying let's try to coordinate, you know, their time together and make it as easy as possible. But anyway, so the solution that I offer, if this is a possibility, and we'll see how this goes, is I have now offloaded all communication with this family to my husband.
Kulap Vilay Sak
That's right. That's right.
Soojin Park
And I came to him. I didn't want to do it, and I didn't know if it was a big ask. It wasn't. And he had no idea that this dynamic was going on. Because I felt kind of crappy talking about it because it was like, no, you know what I mean? It just. I didn't want my feelings towards this person to in any way shape their friendship.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Sure, of course.
Soojin Park
So I hadn't told anyone. So when I expressed what was happening, he was like, happy to do it. So anyway, that's my removal.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Great to hear. That is fantastic. And Mike will make it a game if, like, if ever he was bothered.
Soojin Park
Oh, yeah, it's already again. Because he's like, by the way, pleasant texts, long explanations.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Oh, gosh.
Soojin Park
Which is why I go back to my first instinct.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yeah.
Soojin Park
Which Was like, oh, this guy. I got it. I got. Mm. Because the other thing is, is when you have kids, and this is a whole other episode, when we talk about feminism, when we talk about gender equality, it stops at your children's school. You will never have a room parent that is a man you will never have anyone. I don't even think there's anybody on the pta, at least in my school, that is a man you will never have. Very rarely. That's not true. I had one father at the bake sale last time. I mean, it is so rare. I'm not saying none. I'm saying you're just saying your name. I could name two dads that I see on a consistent basis, either in person or their names on an email. Yeah, it's crazy when it comes to child rearing. It doesn't matter how. How much I fight for it and march for it. It's like you walk into a different planet when it. And it's crazy because there are times when I'm just like, whoa, wow, there are no dads here. Yeah, A lot. I'm like, wow, this is crazy. Like, again, and I wonder.
Kulap Vilay Sak
I think it's likely it will change. I will say that there's, like, in our preschool right now, there's. I would say it's half and half, but that's just like, I'm talking about drop off. Everybody's there for like the. The spring dinner or whatever. But like, of course, the liaison between parents and. And the school is. Is a mom. Generally. I think somebody who is getting a meal train together is. Is a mom.
Soojin Park
Like, you know, I'm part of so many group chats.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yeah, that involves WhatsApp, man. So many. What's that?
Soojin Park
So many group chats that, like, I'm like. And it's a different group chat with the same people, but it's a different topic. So there's one or two. And I don't think Mike is part of one group chat. And not to say he. I mean, he's a very involved parent. I'm just saying when it comes to, like, the school stuff, this guy, there are just certain things that I'm like.
Kulap Vilay Sak
No, Scott isn't joining WhatsApp.
Soojin Park
No, he isn't. Mike doesn't even have. The other day, I had to call him an Uber.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yes.
Soojin Park
He doesn't even have that. I mean, Mike doesn't have that. He doesn't have that. His phone isn't on.
Kulap Vilay Sak
No, it's not.
Soojin Park
Anyway.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Anyways. That's a whole other episode It's a whole other episode. Sue, I have to tell you about something. At the time of this recording was like a week ago. At the time that you listeners are going to hear this, it was a month ago. But regardless, I gotta talk about my floor seats at Beyonce. I have to talk about it.
Soojin Park
Okay, okay, yeah, tell me.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Oh, Sue. Okay, so months ago, this is a remove from cart. I simply got fucked by dynamic pricing during the Beyhive pre sale. Okay, now, Sue, I know even though you were a journalist at MTV News, we all know that you're not much of a music person, but yeah, the.
Soojin Park
M did not stand for music for me.
Kulap Vilay Sak
But back in the day, you know, when you were in a fan club, one of the perks were, is that you would get early access to tickets. It wasn't that you would essentially be taxed by what Ticketmaster does, which is dynamic pricing, which they. If there's a lot of people on the site too, which of course there are, they. The prices of the seats go up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up. And they say that's to fight against scalping, but then they get to do the scalping.
Soojin Park
That's fucking bullshit.
Kulap Vilay Sak
It's such fucking bullshit. We were recording and I got into the pre sale an out like an hour late. It was so hard to get in. And then when I was in, I felt so pressured. And then I got these tickets that were so expensive, but they were like, it's at Sofi and it's like the top level is 500. So I got a pair of in level 300 and they were so expensive that like, I was sweaty. Like, I added to cart. And then I walked into where Olivia was sitting, my assistant, and she's like, are you okay? And I basically sort of toppled over because I was so like, yeah, there's too much adrenaline. Yeah, you were fighting for your life. I was robbed. I felt like, so pressured and I felt robbed.
Soojin Park
Oh, this is every time I buy an airline ticket.
Kulap Vilay Sak
And then what was so horrible? Like, my sister got tickets that day and then she got another pair, like the next day. And this was like the Citibank presale. And she basically got the same tickets, but on the other side for like three times less. And I was just like, so upset, like so mad, and was hoping that maybe I was getting some sort of like VIP experience. It's like, nope, nope. So I was just really bummed out. And they'll say, the Ticketmaster will say, well, it's the artist that sets the price. It's like, well, no.
Soojin Park
Like, no way. Are you kidding me?
Kulap Vilay Sak
The artist sets the base price, but you are doing this dynamic pricing that's like, it penalizes fans, basically. But there was a happy ending because add to cart TikTok telling people to upgrade seats. So people on TikTok were like, call and see if you can upgrade your seats. And so basically, Ticketmaster's policy is they will upgrade. Like, you can switch seats for, like, a fee. Like, a $10 fee for equivalent or more. And when I initially called, there wasn't much inventory for something that was equivalent or more. And it was like, seats that were. They weren't together. I'm like, I want to go with Scott. So I was like, okay, well, can I. If I'm in 300, can I get seats that are in Section 200? They're like, no, because that's less. I'm like, but there are better seats. Like, why can't they.
Soojin Park
Oh, because you paid so much. You were so price gouged.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yes.
Soojin Park
That the only other place is in her dressing room.
Kulap Vilay Sak
It's just so crazy. So then I was like, I want to talk to your supervisor. Let me talk to your supervisor. So finally, the next day when we called or a couple days later, basically, tickets opened up. Like, they had been holding on to a bunch of tickets. Sue. And they opened up, and then there were two. Like, we got two front row tickets. So basically, I paid. At first, I was stubborn because I was like, I'm not giving one more dollar. And then Scott's like, yeah, but we. Like, what will your pride do in terms of, like, our view? And I did end up paying a little bit more, but, like, then I got tickets that were actually the ticket value.
Soojin Park
Like, yes.
Kulap Vilay Sak
So then it was like, holy shit. Add to Cart making eye contact with Beyonce. I will post pictures, you guys. Like, I posted some stories that went away, but on our add to cart, I will post pictures. We'll post video. Like, I made eye contact, Beyonce. Okay, I made eye contact. I left my body. I went into the rafters. Like, I was gone. And sue, not only was I gone, but camera caught me, and my little face for, like, half a second was on the huge screen. And I'm looking. I'm getting texts from Olivia, who's there with her friend in one section. Sang and Roy are in another section.
Soojin Park
Like, cool up.
Kulap Vilay Sak
You were on the big screen, and you're like, it was so derpy my face the entire time. And we'll send you so many photos. It's all the same.
Soojin Park
Just enthralled Gone, gone, bye, goodbye.
Kulap Vilay Sak
I was like. And Scott caught one picture of me. I was just dancing and he got a photo of me and I'm just in ecstasy. It was either this ecstatic face or just truly just. She's shocked. Yeah, yeah. Her soul has been lifted and only a husk remains. That was my two. And it was like a three hour show. We were so close. At one point, Blue Ivy was dancing right in front of me. Like, there was just. Her daughter is amazing. She's 13 and she's got so much poise. It was an unbelievable show and I think nothing else matches it. So I'm going to end this section by saying I'm going to remove from cart buying tickets ahead of time. I'm going to remove my cart because fuck Ticketmaster. And honestly, Beyonce a little bit because she's part of this, because you're agreeing to this. But you know, you know what I'm saying. It's like, it's not just tickets because the artists allow it, but it's mainly Ticketmaster that I have a problem with and because. Why? I just also want to say that the original tickets I got, again, for a crazy amount. An amount that equaled front row tickets in section 300 on my same aisle. Like, tickets were available for $120.
Soojin Park
What?
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yeah, that's. It's not cool. It's so not cool. So it's better to just buy tickets the day of the week of. Than to mess with dynamic pricing?
Soojin Park
Because of the dynamic pricing. Yeah. No, but also, why does this.
Kulap Vilay Sak
No other industry does this.
Soojin Park
How is this legal?
Kulap Vilay Sak
It can't be legal.
Soojin Park
But when you buy a car, they're not like, well, there's a lot of people looking at this car.
Kulap Vilay Sak
There's a lot of people on this lot. Yeah.
Soojin Park
Nobody does this.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Like, it's robbery. But I also am like, am I removing from cart going to concerts at all? Cause I just. Nothing is ever going to compare to this. Like, and this is, by the way, all of this is just dripping with privilege. Absolutely. And I'm gonna pile on that privilege and say that I've seen everybody that I ever wanna see.
Soojin Park
And on top of it, you can't say that because you're married to a music's number one fan.
Kulap Vilay Sak
This is going to come up after the break. Why? I'm going to see you in Santa Barbara in a little bit. Let's just say, like the weekend of my birthday. He's going to a festival on his own.
Soojin Park
Yeah, yeah.
Kulap Vilay Sak
He's going to a Musical festival.
Soojin Park
You got to lock eyes with Beyonce. So. Yeah, yeah, go fuck yourself.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yeah, basically. So. Okay, bye guys. Let's take a break and we will be back.
Soojin Park
Coo. As you know, I just got back from another trip to Mexico City. It's apparently my home away from home. So I'm just going to say my biggest checklist item of the year is going to be to learn Spanish with Rosetta Stone. I mean, I love this.
Kulap Vilay Sak
I love this so much.
Soojin Park
Like, why am I in this city? Why is this language being spoken so beautifully? I need to get in it, you.
Kulap Vilay Sak

Soojin Park
There's no way to really get into the nooks and crannies of a city other than to learn the language.

Kulap Vilay Sak
You get what I'm pouring here? Oh, please, please get me four cups. And sue, the best part is you can have all that fun, that chic taste without waking up the next morning a dehydrated husk from too many cocktails.
Soojin Park
Ku, can I just share because you are an aesthetic being. I am just seeing the Le spritz cans filled with high quality botanicals. I'm talking yuzu, elderflower, rosemary, all these gorgeous babes lined up in she shed fridge. I'm liberated. I am a new.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yeah, I love this for you. I'm upping my bar cart game with Ghia's original aperitif. Remember I got those gorgeous cocktail glasses from moma last year. I'll pour Ghia over ice in them with a splash of sparkling water. Squeeze in a lime and I am San Tropez baby. Plus I'm still kickboxing in the AM like a champ.

COO I just talked about Quince in a recent episode about door shoes and in summer I'm living in these Quince water repellent suede clog mules. My door shoes always right by the door. But you already know it. We are a Quint's Lovin podcast.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Guilty. That's my name. In this day in economy I want gorgeous things that will last. And I needed to refresh my baby girl Emmy's summer wardrobe and I sure did. I got her Count em. Not one, not two but three. Three different swimsuits from Quint's. I'm talking the long sleeve zip up rash guard one piece in a flamingo palms I'm talking a tankini and long sleeve Raglan Rashgart set in strawberries. That's three pieces honey and a long sleeve tie one piece swimsuit in what version? Under the sea. So cute. Got little sea creatures with little ruffle bottom. It's adorable.
Soojin Park
I love a ruffle bottom. I haven't even told you Koo I have to fill my suitcase with gifts to bring back to my Korean relatives. And so for my OG aunties I'm doing the quince hydrolyzed collagen powder because they are obsessed. And then I got this really cute Italian leather crossbody clutch for my cousin. So they're all just gonna get Quince?
Kulap Vilay Sak
Everything with Quince is half the cost of similar brands and they only work with ethical factories. Stick to the staples that last with elevated essentials from quince Go to quince.com addtocart for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.com addtocart to get free shipping and 365 day returns. Quints.com addtocart sue, we are back and I just really want to talk about some upcoming summer travel that you know I know you're doing a lot. Memorial Day weekend I was going to spend part of it with sue, because we're heading up to Santa Barbara again. And that's going to be like my birthday, Mother's Day all wrapped in one. Because again, Scott put in the calendar months ago that he'd be going to a music festival in Pasadena. So I'm looking forward to another road trip and I'll see my Sue. My nephew Kai is visiting for a month. My sister and brother in law are coming. They're gonna be coming out together, the three of them, for a week. But then Kai basically will stay here dropping off.
Soojin Park
Yes.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Which will be really fun. I don't know what we're doing.
Soojin Park
Oh, you know, you're gonna. You're gonna stack it. Coupons and coupons on stacks and stacks.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Stacks on stacks. And then lastly, because around this time, Add to cart will be on hiatus. So I just want to let you guys know that Emmy's going back on a plane in July. We're going on a Mexican beach family vacation with other families. Like, cute. And I briefly want to say, hey, folks, you probably already on top of this, but add to cart. Global Entry. Are you doing this for Korea, Sue?
Soojin Park
I hope I have Global Entry.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Great.
Soojin Park
Is that what you mean?
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yes. Good. Because Global Entry, what does it get you? No processing lines, no paperwork. You get expedited entry benefits to other countries. It's available at major US Airports. Reduce wait time. Already baked in is TSA pre check. And for certain AMEX cards, you get fully reimbursed. So check that out. And free application fees for kids under 18. So in these times that I don't have to describe for you, get on this sooner than later.
Soojin Park
Yes. And also, do you know about Mobile Passport Control?
Kulap Vilay Sak
No. Tell me everything.
Soojin Park
Okay, so for those of you who for some reason don't have Global Entry, there's mpc, Mobile Passport Control. It's totally free. It's an app, I think, run by some arm of the federal government. And the line for that I find, at least in the past, and now I'm blowing up the spot. So guys, just. Okay, calm down. Is as short, if not shorter than Global Entry. And that line, at least coming back into la, for example, is the line that diplomats use.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Okay, this is a high.
Soojin Park
I don't have no idea if it's the same in other airports. But what I'm saying is it's a different line than the regular line, and everybody has access to it, but so few people know about it. So that's another hot tip. If for some reason you're listening to this Global Entry is great because it's so big and there's no BS like the sign finding the MPC line when you get off of that plane, if you don't haven't used it, they make it a little bit difficult and I don't know if they do it on purpose or not. Whereas with Global Entry, it's like Global Entry. Boop. You scan it and you're gone. Yeah. So that's another sort of like if you for some reason don't do Global Entry, there's this route you could possibly explore.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Thank you, Sue. Oh my gosh. Wow, sue. This is the end of another episode of Add to Cart.
Soojin Park
That's right. And there'll be more.
Kulap Vilay Sak
Yes, of course there'll be more. We are marching towards the end of the show as we know it. Just to reiterate and listen, Koo was.
