Quince is getting my money, girl. Quince is getting. They got it. They got my money. Take my money, please. I'm like, they thank you for being a sponsor, but also you should thank me. I'm giving more than I'm getting.
B
And that's anti math. And plus, summer is all about getting dressed right? And it's two words. Easy breezy. You want simple, classy and sweat free options.
A
Carter's. We all know the drill. Quince makes elevated essentials using premium materials, 100% European linen, organic cotton, washable silk, and prices everything 50 to 80% less than similar brands. They work directly with ethical factories. Cut out the middlemen and pass the savings straight to you.
B
Summer linens start at 32 bucks. There's organic cotton sweaters for nights at the bonfire. My go to wreck right now is their organic cotton gauzy pant, which is the definition of easy breezy. Plus it packs down to like just a little cotton ball. Also, stop shopping elsewhere for a bedding, bath and furniture because guess what? Quince has it better and without the markup.
A
Oh, Suchin, if I could tell you all that I've been doing. If you could know all the bedding, you brought up European linen. Yeah, I know. Let me throw. I also got some bamboo sheets for Emmy. Okay. B
Coo. You know what I did this year to thank all of my daughter's teachers, right? These teachers working so hard.
A
So hard.
B
I got a box of six curated white wines. You know, I answered a bunch of questions about how sweet or dry I wanted them. What flavor profiles. I mean, everything from vanilla to fruity to nutty. It was so fun. And then bam. Delivered to my door and handed out to the teachers.
A
Right?
B
That's what they want. They want a crisp glass of wine after a hard year's work.
A
I hope you gave them each six.
B
That would be great.
A
That's what they deserved.
B
Yes, they actually did deserve that you're right. Next year. Next year. Mental note.
A
It's so important to reward our teachers and also if you can suck up to them. Good job, sue. Firstleaf curates all their bottles, which are award winning and not always at a local store. A
also with that fire boy. Welcome to another episode of @Deskart. I am your auntie, Kulab Vilaisak.
B
And I'm your other auntie, Sujan Park. We are deep into summer now. We are full five fingers, five toes in.
A
That's right, we are.
B
There's no bear crawling on the beach. Bear crawling on the beach. We are ass up. We are looking at all the Instagram posts of like, this is how I'm gonna do summer with my kids. I'm not cooking. I'm not clean. Have you seen these? Are you on this algorithm?
A
No. This is so fun to see. What algorithm? I mean, that hasn't hit me and tell me what this woman intends to do with her children.
B
They all do. They'll come up. They do a laminated piece of paper that they put up on their say. And it's like a game. It's like, if you're hungry, then these are the things that you can make yourself. If you're bored, then these are the activities you can.
A
You know what I mean?
B
It's like, set it and forget it.
A
Okay.
B
I mean, isn't that fantasy?
A
I mean, your children have to comply to that. I mean, you have to, like, onboard your children for that. Like, that's not something you're gonna drop on them.
B
And you're like, they're like, mom, Mom, I'm hungry. And you're like, no, no, no.
A
Go to the.
B
Go to the refrigerator. Go to the board. What happens when you're hungry? You're like, wait, what? Where? Which. Which refriger? Where? Where?
A
Refriger the refrigerator.
B
I put it up inside the. The, you know, the main house.
A
Go Ahead and go.
B
Go to the refrigerator there. Get out of my adu. I'm working.
A
Wait. The refrigerator inside. Wait.
B
And then you're like, forget it. Absolutely forget it. They haven't even got to the list. Like, what is this fantasy?
A
You set the idea of this and then you forget that idea?
B
No. Oh, my God.
A
So it is. So it is.
B
Set it and forget it. It still is. Wait, we have to do our own version of this. Because I'm like, wow, this is actually a really great idea. And then I started to walk through the scenario.
A
Yeah, with your actual children and not fantast. Disney Creatures today.
B
We were recording. And my wonderful lazy ass children. And summertime. 11am they're not up. So he's still sleeping. So I was like, okay. I put post its in the ADU because that's where they live. And I said, I've left out your breakfast. This is what you got to do. Scramble the eggs. There's the butter. You know, they can figure that stuff out. But I left everything out. I prepped it the night before. I pulled it out this morning. I might as well cook it. Yeah, I might as well cook it. Then as I'm coming here to set up, Kai gets up and he's like, oh. And I'm like, I'm recording right now. I told you this. All the stuff is in the adu. What stuff? And then that's. And I'm like, yeah, you can't. And what are you gonna do?
A
You're gonna be like, what do you
B
mean you're not a robot?
A
Yeah. What do you mean? That's not.
B
Yeah. Anyway, I just wanna release anyone from that algorithm that I am so deep in about parenting hacks, which, again, I know this are a scam, but we all fall for it because we think, is there a way that someone else is doing this that is easier? Blah, blah.
A
There isn't. That isn't staged.
B
That it's all fake.
A
Yes, it's all. It's a different type of storytelling.
B
No. And the thing about it is, I don't want to set myself up for that. I want to be easy breezy mama summer 2026.
A
But I don't know if that's who you are.
B
Watch me. Guess what? Guess what. Easy breezy mama. Step one is stop with that. Stop with the fantasy of the expectations now. Easy breezy mama when you don't have expectations. Now we're going into something that. That we can work with.
A
Okay? We're in a different flow.
B
I'm not at a level 10 when he's like, what do you mean? What breakfast? And I'm like, did you not see the post? So anyway, Easy Breezy Summer 2026.
A
Number one.
B
Number one,
A
I'm rooting for you. Is I guess the only thing I can say,
B
I guess at the end of the summer, all I can do is ask my kids, was this an easy breezy mama? And I will ask that the day before they Start School on August 18th, and I will record it on my cell phone, and then I will drop that answer.
A
Whoa. Whoa.
B
This is.
A
Wow. To have an arc like this for the summer. This is. Thank you. It's like, it's. You know, Widow's Bay is done. I loved it so much, and now I can look forward to this finale.
B
Terrifying. I didn't know that was gonna be a scary show. I've not slept. I only got through probably episode three, and I was like, wait, this is scary.
A
Oh, you know that I can't watch it.
B
Don't tell me what happened.
A
I won't. Promise.
B
Because I had to turn it off. I was like, I somehow just stumbled into it because I love that actor so much.
A
You talking about Matthew Rhys?
B
Yes.
A
It's my friend Katie Dipple's show. It's incredible. I watch scary. So, Sujin, I watched the finale full daylight. Full daylight. And sometimes I have to take breaks. I have to pause because that's not what the filmmakers want. But I'm a chicken shit.
B
No, so am I. I started the third episode, and that's when I realized, oh, this is like a totally different show than I thought it was gonna be. Slept in my son's room. I mean, I. This is like. This is a problem. Anyway, it's so good.
A
Add to Q, add to cue.
B
Okay.
A
Okay. You have something to call out. You have something to call.
B
Before we get into it, I was like, wait, I'm looking for certain things. And I'm like, why am I not using this army that we've collected here of wackos? I need a great sandal for the summer. 10,000 steps. I can't have anything between my toes. So it can't be a thong. And it can't be obviously hideous. I've been looking. I have.
A
I want this too, by the way. I also want this. Listeners, Carter's, please, if you don't mind
B
the in between toes. I have it coming just as a backup. The Tevas, the one that Mary Kate and Ashley wear, you just searched those. So a friend of mine had those, and I tried them on, and I was like, oh my God, these are so comfortable. And they weren't really, really rubbing in between. So I was like, okay, I have those as a backup but I'm looking for a non thong sandal. And I've looked and number one, either they're sold out because everyone has the same thought process idea.
A
Okay.
B
Yeah. And like there's a brand called Baird. It's an Australian brand that has got incredible ratings but all their good looking ones are sold out. Or it's a brand that has all the qualifications but looks like a old lady shoe.
A
No, no.
B
This is where I'm at. So if you guys have any suggestions. 10,000 steps. Summer sandal. Cute. Preferably without the in between toe. Okay. That's all. That's what I'm asking ourselves.
A
Are you also asking for feet pics?
B
I mean, I don't want them but if you.
A
I'm just curious for feet pics, if
B
that somehow completes the circle for you, be my guest. I will do nothing with it. And. And I don't want it, but I will take it.
A
Okay, great.
B
Too clarifying. Clarifying.
A
This is clarifying. Like this was her. What if like this was Soojin's kink and this was such a weird way of finding out.
B
Oh God, I wish this was my kink. At least I could talk about it in public.
A
At least people would be understand, There'd
B
be support groups, there's apps.
A
There's apps for that.
B
There's worlds I could join and not
A
feel like a freak.
B
I wish.
A
Oh my God. All right, let us dive into our first cart. Sue.
B
Let's do it.
A
Come on.
B
My cart.
A
Yeah, let's. I want to know about this.
B
I'm so excited to bring you my cart because I know you're going to be excited and you're. I know you're going to be adding to your kit. So just let me walk this back. We are now in summer. Full summer. Okay. And we are doing the sunscreen, right, ladies? We are, we must, we must. And I'm talking about the reapplication and all of that. Now what I surmise is happening in my old age is that there's less skin turnover. And so what's happening is I'm just slathering on mineral sunblock over dead skin cell. And. And it's just like layers and layers. Like a archaeological site.
A
Wow.
B
Without the bottom layer being cleared and then the sunscreen coming on. So eventually what's gonna happen is gonna be deep cystic pimples, acne, all those like especially on my Chin around my nose. Like, yes, blackheads. But even almost just, like, bumps of, like, just clogged dirty pores.
A
Okay.
B
Huh? If this is your kink. Cause it's mine, then you're gonna be very excited. So I went to a facialist. I mean, and she just was like, wow. Sweating. Really sweating. She was a Russian lady sweating. Dead silent. At first, she was kind of like, oh. And then. And then it was like she had
A
to put her back into it.
B
She had to put her Russian back into it. And. And I actually enjoy extractions. This was like, okay, I need to do something different. So we had a long conversation, and I said, I'm not normally. Like, this isn't normally this process. And she was like, your age. I hate to hear turnover. She's like, my guess is it's just sunscreen. And, like, you think you're getting your skin clean, and your skin is clean to a certain level, but you need to go deeper, especially for summer. So I said, say no more. Kink factory is open. I know what to do for this. So I have. This is my cart. Is a new summer routine. And this is where you're finding yourself.
A
Okay.
B
And the first thing you have to understand is that we on this pod are a double cleanse pod.
A
That's right.
B
If that is a new concept to you, we're trying not to judge, but you need to get on this train, especially during the summer when you're slathering on sunblock. So the first cleanse is an oil cleanse that breaks up all the product, all the sunscreen, the waterproof, the sweat, the makeup, the setting spray, whatever you're doing. Yep. Shellacking yourself all day long. On top of all day long, you gotta have an oil cleanse. And so I have a cleansing balm. I've used lots. Some great, some not. I can't sit here and be like, oh, I think they're fine. I don't know that you need anything fancy. However, Prequel had like, a maybe, like, Memorial Day sale, like, a bundle and save. And so I was like, you know what? I've been interested in a bunch of their products. I ordered a bunch of. And this Prequel first cleanse oil cleanser. Have you tried this? It's a gel.
A
I've not heard of Prequel before.
B
What?
A
I don't know.
B
Okay.
A
Because I rely on you.
B
Thank you. This is the new naturium.
A
Okay.
B
I didn't realize I was bringing Game Changer.
A
Okay.
B
Oh, Prequel's a game changer. Oh, so I love naturium. Still use Naturium for a lot of things. But prequel is like, that's the level we're at. So it's like super affordable. I think they launched at Target. It's a dermatologist, very trusted dermatologist who created the brand and all the formulas. And so it's at that price point, but it's at that efficacy. The packaging, I mean, they. Some of their stuff comes in glass bottles. Like, it's nice stuff is what I'm saying. I've used the only prequel product before I. I started to dive into it with this sale was their vitamin C. And their vitamin C is great. I have it. I re up it. It's fantastic. So this is their cleansing oil.
A
It's just, it's great for a standard size 6.5 fluid ounces. It's $20.
B
$20. So we're talking like drugstore prices. Yeah. So the thing I like about this is that I have a cleansing bot that I use. I just get it at Amazon. It's a Korean one. And it's great. It's. It's a bit thicker.
A
Okay.
B
And what I thought started to realize was I feel like I need a more fluid oil cleanser that is going to lather and really, really, like, break this up.
A
Okay.
B
Because I feel like the cleansing balm's great for winter when your skin is a little bit, you know, needs more hydration. Not that this is dehydrating at all, but anyway, I just really like this formula. So I'm breaking. You're doing your first cleanse with this.
A
Yes.
B
Okay, so let's get that out of the way and then let's talk about the real nut here is the exfoliation process. So you both, you need a. Both chemical exfoliation and you need a physical exfoliation.
A
You need a chemical one. Okay. All right, I'm following you. Okay.
B
I'm only bringing new stuff, so I don't. I'm using my naturium that I love. That's the chemical exfoliation. But the physical exfoliation, that's the new thing I'm bringing. And it is a game changer. It is the brand Dermalogica, which is,
A
we all know forever.
B
Yeah. And they have this rice based powder. Have you ever used something like this?
A
Yes.
B
It's a powder. Yeah, it's a powder. And you can. You add a little bit of water to it and then it makes a paste and you scrub your face with this.
A
Nope, I take it back. I haven't tried something like this. So when you Put it in your hand. It is powder.
B
Like, it's dry.
A
No, this is also new to me.
B
Okay. It's a dry powder.
A
Copy that.
B
And what activates it is any kind of liquid.
A
Okay.
B
Okay. So you add a little bit of water. I mean, I even sometimes add it just to the oil cleanse.
A
If I'm like, you need to get going.
B
Yeah, I need to get going. But the powder has. When you add water to it and liquid to it, it has all of these activ. So salicylic acid, the rice brand, is actually what the powder is. There is skin brightening stuff. So what I love about this is that not only do you get the physical exfoliation, but then all those actives, they're completely stable because there's no liquid in them. So they're stable. And then you add it, and then it activates. Right. So that powder doesn't go bad. So I did a link here for you, which is just. And that's what I have. Just their small little travel size, which I think is so perfect because you can get the big refill. They have a refillable pouch. And then you just refill this, like, small travel thing that you can, you know, interesting. Have in different travel bags, whatever.
A
And so that's smart.
B
And this isn't like, you know, like those scrubs that, you know, the same St. Eve apricot scrub we used to have with those giant granules. This is almost. You can't almost even feel it.
A
Like, you know what I mean?
B
It's. It's has a grainy texture, but the more liquid you add to it, the softer it is, the less liquid, the more grainier. So you kind of have to, like, figure out what your skin texture is and what you can tolerate, but it's very, very gentle. And that is the physical exfoliation. Now cool up. You're gonna either do the chemical one day or you're gonna do the physical.
A
You're not gonna do both?
B
I'm not gonna do both.
A
Makes sense.
B
You're not gonna do both.
A
Makes sense.
B
And you can do this as many times a week as you want. Yeah. Meaning that, like, you decide, like, you got everybody's skin is different, sensitivity wise, whatever you're adding. And then generally on those days that I'm exfoliating either way, then the next thing I put on is not gonna be something for me, at least something like with harsh chemicals, you know what I mean? Meaning that like, with high active. So, like, meaning maybe after I do this at night and I do the Physical exfoliation. I'm not gonna necessarily go in with my tretinoin. You know what I mean? Like, then I'm gonna be very gentle with my skin because this is.
A
Because it's new. Because it's new. It's baby.
B
It's.
A
It's baby. It's baby girl.
B
And I have to say, I've been doing this now for about a month, and I have been exfoliating a lot. Now, I have a strong hand. You know that.
A
You have a strong, deliberate hand.
B
To my Russian lady, is she going to say you've burned your face off, perhaps in patches? Do I feel my skin is a completely different texture? 100%. Is there any cystic acne? Do I have blackheads? No.
A
Okay.
B
Am I going to continue this path? Yes.
A
Well, I'd also like you to go to her. And without any explanation, say, this summer, was I easy breezy mama record the answer.
B
By the way, the person to ask to get the right answer is a Russian facialist. Because anybody that is not a Russian facialist and over 60, she Be easy breezy. Oh, God, she be easy breezy. There's two things we don't mess about here on this pod. Good deals and good sleep. Now, if you think you're a bad sleeper, maybe that that's just not true. It could be that you're sleeping on a crap mattress.
A
At Helix, they understand every sleeping beauty has different needs, desires, dreams. Which is why before you even think about what mattress you want, they ask you important questions like what temp do you run? Are you a side sleeper? Do you have lower back pain? And then they suggest the perfect mattress for you.

Which is why I'm in a very fulfilling relationship with my new Helix Midnight Elite Advanced hybrid support. Not too squishy, but firm enough to support my aching back. But we're not here to freak anyone out. We're here to gently but firmly remind you that function Health has got you.
A
Listen, most of us are familiar with the basic cholesterol check at our annual physical. But that's only a small part of the story. There are tests to count particles in your blood that can build up. There are genetic factors that can be tested for. And almost no doctor includes systemic inflammatory markers in an annual exam.
B
And this is where function fills in those blanks. They offer 160 plus lab tests a year, including the cardiovascular markers that tell a more complete story about where your heart health actually stands. Because knowing what's actually going on inside your body is the first step to getting ahead of any health problems. Check your health the way I do. So the cleanse the thing and this is because you guys, what I'm asking you to do is a lot. But what I'm telling you is, is that this sunscreen is just sitting on your face and you're just like doing a 3 second like cleanse at the end of the day. The dirt, the sweat, it's just you're not getting it clean. I can't have that.
A
It is interesting because you both like saying put on more sunscreen. You must put on more sunscreen and then you must take it off and
B
then you must take it off and it's a process. But you know what we talked earlier about, what is it that you do to take care of yourself? How do you touch grass?
A
Right?
B
This is how I touch grass.
A
This is how you touch grass.
B
A rice bran polish on my face.
A
But there's more stuff here that I'm seeing.
B
So then, so then all of that is happening. And then in my little squirrely brain, I was like, okay, so what are, what are we doing to make sure that like, you know, now that you've exfoliated your skin and this new baby skin, just make sure that at least for me, I have had experiences that my skin is very porous. My skin is so sensitive to bacteria, to all this stuff. Right. Over time. And so I was like, you know what, I need some sort of like a spray after I do this exfoliation that will make sure that any bacteria on my face, like it's just as clean as can be. Just like that extra step to like seal it kind of also to like after I clean everything, this is my brain and this is where I go like maybe there's like, you know, I maybe exfoliated a little hard on a little patch. And if there's like any bacteria from my hands, like, I don't want that in that area. Oh wow. You know what I mean? So then I go in with a hypochlorous spray. Now hypochlorous, we've talked about it on our pod. It's a natural topical. People use it for skin, for surfaces. It's just an antimicrobial antibacterial thing.
A
I mean it's pretty wild. Because what you're saying is that you're gonna use an acid spra your face and that's right, it's a, is very
B
misleading because once you look into it, it is a very, it's a natural occurring sort of antibacterial. It's very, very mild. You can use it on babies and surfaces. Like it's just the, the gentlest, the mildest.
A
Okay.
B
And like Tower, for instance, the first time I did this, I used this tower 28. It was something I was gifted on the high end, you know, does like a hypochlorous face mist spray. Like, like all of the brands do this. You could spend $60 on a bottle
A
of this or get it on Amazon. So Sujin uses the Briotech pure hypochlorous acid spray and cleanser. It says that it's a multi purpose cleaner, it's family approved, it's pet friendly. So for a four fluid ounce bottle, it is $9.89 right now because of a deal. But it hovers around there. That's pretty affordable.
B
Yeah. And this stuff is at least in the research that I've done, I tend to think, and I know this isn't the most environmental friendly way, but like the smaller the bottle, the better because it does kind of not go bad, but the efficacy, you lose the efficacy of it.
A
That's really interesting. I don't think I ever think about it that way.
B
Yeah, some things, you know, like you don't want to get a vitamin C serum. Like for me, I'd rather get 10 travel size vitamin C serums and one big vitamin C serum.
A
Right.
B
Because the big one is just constantly being oxidized in light. Yeah, yeah. And all that stuff. And so hypochlorous acid I think works the same way. It may not be as like unstable as vitamin C and it may be quite stable, but I've just read different things about it. So anyway, have I even looked into, during COVID I looked into like getting a hypochloris like machine because you can just make it out of water.
A
You know what I mean?
B
Like, it's just like water molecules like rearranged.
A
So now we're a scientist, so now we're a chemist. That's what we're up to. That's the things we're doing in Santa Barbara.
B
We had a lot of time. We had a lot of time back then. I, I did consider it for a second. It wasn't like cheap. I remember it was like a couple hundred bucks or something like that. And I was like, I don't know about that. I don't know if I'm like all in. But anywho, this is what I'm doing. Listen, you know, to each their own kinky kink. And so then I feel like my face is as clean as it can be.
A
But then what's the next step?
B
I mean, then the next step is whatever.
A
Well, no, the new day is you gotta put on another, you know, okay,
B
this is at night.
A
This is at night. Okay.
B
I only do this at night.
A
Okay.
B
And so then you put on whatever moisturizer, whatever, blah, blah, blah. Okay. What I'm also bringing to the table because of course the sun rises.
A
Well, the sun rises, the rooster crows.
B
I wish that I had brought my bottle to where I'm sitting right now.
A
Why?
B
To show you how crazy this sunscreen is. So in the prequel bundle that I bought, I wanted to try, of course, their sunscreen, which. Click on that link. How much is this sunscreen? It is so inexpensive.
A
For 1.7 fluid ounces, it's $22.
B
$22 for like a good size. And this is a mineral sunscreen. And I've talked about sunscreens. I've used a lot of sunscreens. I generally almost always use mineral. And I'm always looking for that holy grail of a mineral sunscreen that doesn't peel, that is instantaneously rubbed in, that isn't drying and isn't greasy. Yeah, yeah. Mineral sunscreen, I think, is a really hard thing to figure out. This sunscreen is, I think, probably top two best mineral sunscreen that I've ever used.
A
What's the top?
B
I mean, I would say that it's like this and like, there was another Korean one that I was using. I can't remember the name of it. And I came to the pod and I was like, this is a game changer. That's still a fantastic sunscreen. I'll find it. But we're talking about new stuff here.
A
Yes. Right now you're talking about new stuff, New discoveries.
B
Well, I'm surprised.
A
You know, I get my new source from Instagram and all my news comes from Instagram or sometimes TikTok.
B
Trusted news source.
A
Yeah, trusted sources. Trusted sources. And I am a little surprised it didn't come from you, which I know there was an announcement that the FDA is allowing new ingredients in our sunscreen. I mean, this is your beat. Suchin. Like, why aren't you. I don't understand. Why aren't you making announcements?
B
And speaking of, you know, they opened a Olive Young in Pasadena.
A
I am aware. And they will be opening one in the Culver City Westfield Mall store.
B
But you guys have to also realize, related to what you're saying, the formulas are different. Yeah, yeah. I am not intuited in those formulas.
A
I know.
B
I'm not interested in those. In those sunscreen formulas. So, yes, they are approving that. That's not my beat. My beat isn't government. That's not my beat.
A
All right, I stand corrected. I apologize.
B
My beat is mineral sunscreen at an affordable price. Doesn't it affect formula with an elegant.
A
Oh, pardon.
B
Elegant.
A
Pardon moi.
B
It has to be elegante. I have tried everything, and most the time I look like the inside of a coconut. Yeah. And I live with that. And my daughter has told me that I can no longer pick her up from school.
A
When you look like Chalky Mommy, she
B
said, that is you look quote unquote, crazy mom. But sometimes, if that's what you're testing out and that's what you look like, you gotta get out the door. Chalky mom, guess what? Chalky mom related to Easy breezy. Am I going to have a baby? Flip out that this is not invisible like the like, like the bottle says.
A
I mean, what do you care? You don't have to look at yourself.
B
Exactly. That would be a you problem.
A
Let's take a quick break and we'll be back on Etikari.
B
This is a paid message from GoFundMe. Meet Juan Naula. When his son was hospitalized for a viral infection, Juan started a GoFundMe to pay for medical expenses.
A
It was 5k to pay the bill for my son and I need only 22 hours. It was amazing. People really trust on GoFundMe.
B
How did Juan raise $5,000 in less than a day? He posted a short video on GoFundMe telling his story in 30 seconds.
A
30 seconds. Be specific, be quick and tell. What are you going to be using the funds for? I was nervous to do it because it doesn't feel okay to ask money. But you shouldn't be nervous. Sometimes you just have to do it and see the results. We were able to save my son's life thanks to gofundme that we still have my son with us.

A
Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here for Mint Mobile. Now I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited Premium Wireless for $15 a month is back. So I thought it would be fun if we made $15 bills but it turns out that's very illegal. So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try@mintmobile.com Switch upfront payment
B
of $45 for three months, $90 for six months or $180 for a 12 month plan. Required $15 per month equivalent taxes and fees. Extra initial plan term only greater than 50 gigabytes. Me slow when network is busy. See terms.
A
Such and back. We are back on add to.
B
I'm Auntie Cuckoo and I am Auntie on the beat. On the SPF beat.
A
Yeah, your beat is what you beat on your face.
B
Cannot wait till you try this sunscreen. I'm not going to say anymore because you're going to try it and you're going to text me and you're going to be like holy.
A
I'm 100% going to do that. And also I'm noticing in every link of the prequel that there are like eczema friendly and like approved by eczema associations. And I'm 100% going to send this to my friend who that's a real issue for him.
B
No, it's a fantastic brand. Like, I've tried now a lot of their products and so far I will be repurchasing everything I've bought. Anyway, so last thing before we get to your cart, because I do want to get to your cart.
A
Of course.
B
Okay. Okay. What are we doing about our hair? Oh, yes, and my hair. What I'm struggling with now is gray popping out. And I'm not talking like a silver fox like you, where it's just like the same texture as the rest of my hair. I'm talking about witchy, curly Brillo scouring pad strands.
A
Yeah.
B
And I'm not going to dye my hair. Certainly not for that. Those strands. I mean, maybe eventually if I get like large patches. But I'm talking about there's just strands now. You know what I mean? Just strands at the, at the park. And so I was doing the hair mascara, but now it's a little bit more than the hair mascara. There's a few more strands. So I started to go down this route of like, is there something in between where it's not a hair dye, but it's like something that will cover this gray? I stumbled upon this brand. I have no idea if this brand has been around forever. Have you ever heard of it? It's called overtone.
A
No, I'm not familiar because I'm not
B
a. I don't dye my hair anymore. So maybe this is something that, for people who dye their hair, they're like, oh, yeah, I know this. So this is called a color depositing daily conditioner. I have it in espresso brown. And I wanted something that was non toxic, that was, you know, acted like a conditioner. This. I cannot say more positive things about this. So it goes on. Like you see it, there's a lot of color. It's very pigmented. And you put the conditioner in like you would any conditioner and then you sit with it. I sit with it for like 20 minutes and I just apply it kind of right around where most of my grays are. And then you just wash it out. And it is a fantastic conditioner.
A
Like has like, it's making all your hair soft.
B
Yeah, yeah. So soft. So then it is covering, I would say about like 70% of it.
A
Wow.
B
Which for like a temporary conditioner, it doesn't bleed out. I was like, oh, is this gonna show up on my, you know, on My clothes. And you know, that doesn't do any of that. It is non toxic. It's so lovely. And the other thing. So it does cover like 70% of the grays, but it's also making them not crazy looking, meaning that like they're laying down flat with the rest of my hair. Cause I was getting.
A
I mean, that's the issue is. And that's been my journey too, is figuring it's the texture. It's not even like, you know, of course, have I been blessed by my silver placements and the way that often people think that I've chosen this bellaged. Yes. And that's not the case. But what I've contended with is the texture and.
B
Yeah.
A
And retaining moisture and all of that. So, yeah, that's really the key piece. So this is incredible.
B
Yeah, this is doing that. And then the other thing for I've only used this color is that it does, like create a gloss.
A
Nice.
B
Nice. So then the rest of your hair is like shinier, like glossier. And I'm here for it. It's so easy. I don't want to sit in a salon. I don't want to hair mascara.
A
I'm also looking at this website. And so for your purposes, but also if you're feeling like you want to walk down memory lane to your days at MTV when you were doing Man Panic, they also have overtone, also has things like extreme magenta. They have other colors, other pigments. So if it's not even about the silvers and you just want to look like, you know, TRL, such and PAK.
B
Nobody.
A
2000s.
B
Absolutely not. One person listening, they can appreciate what they saw 20 years ago.
A
So you're leaving. You're saying you're leaving it behind. You're not.
B
I think we are all as a culture.
A
Okay. There is a lot of reboots, a lot of things rebooted.
B
And some things should just be boots, you know.
A
Okay.
B
Booted right out. And that would be it. But I did have a moment of that as it. As I squeezed it out of my hand and it was quite dark. I was like, is this gonna be all over my pillows? Like for all of the 2000s, every single bedsheet, pillow, cover and towel. Manic panic.
A
No.
B
And it's not.
A
And so it's a new day and
B
it's a new dawn.
A
Wow.
B
We've grown technology,
A
if anything.
B
But what? That's my beat.
A
That's your beat.
B
I brought you urine technology.
A
Yeah, you have.
B
And I bring you hair color conditioner technology. These are my beats.
A
These are your Beats.
B
So that's kind of my. My. My summer beauty refresh cart. I'm done.
A
This is huge. These are all huge. Amazing.
B
I've been sitting on some goose eggs, as they say in the biz, and I've been waiting to bring them to you, my best Faberges.
A
Oh, my goodness. And we have cracked them open, and we are scrambling eggs like Suchin's Kids are not. What eggs?
B
What fridge? I mean, to be fair, we have a lot of fridges on this property. We have covered that ground.
A
I can't imagine. You were like, they're in your father's deep freezer with the meats. I mean, I. Okay, all right. They're kids. If it's not in front of them,
B
it's like, no, no.
A
You know, Suchin Po. It's my turn, and it's my cart.
B
Yes, yes, your cart. Let me dive in.
A
Let us dive in. The category is the hits and misses While auction. Add to carding.
B
Wait, while auction.
A
Sujin, are you aware the R L Spear Company? The R.L. spear Company? Now, my dear friend oft mentioned on the pod, Kevin Sesha. Mother's Korean, he father's white. He let me know about this site, and it has become sort of a side pastime. And what they do is so that this is specific to California and western US Businesses. It essentially is like when companies are closing and liquidating. You know, it could be office furniture. Right. Or what I'm into is, like, usually in California, places like the WB or different types of studios will get rid of their wardrobe. And so it is a auction site where you can bid on these items.
B
Wait, I'm on this site? You already clicked on something random?
A
Yes.
B
And they're like. The bids are like a dollar.
A
Yeah, that's where it starts. Of course, they get higher, and sometimes they don't, though, depending on the things. Now, I brought up Kevin Sesha. Has he gotten an amazing suit there? Yes, he has. Has he also gotten a full knight's armor that he. I don't even know where he put it. Just an erect knight, metal knight that
B
he got that there's a lot of, like, major motion picture studio, wardrobe, department sales.
A
Yes. And then there'll be like, oh, then it could be prop houses. Right. It could be that. It could also be this medical company is going out of business. It's just random businesses like that where you can just bid on things. So the auction that I'm gonna discuss with you today is one that I feel pretty cocky about. Pretty Cocky about. So this is. Was the HD Buttercup warehouse liquidation.
B
No way. Wait, HD Buttercup is out of business?
A
Yes. Are you familiar it was in the Helms Bakery? Of course, yes.
B
HD Buttercup. If you are lived in Los Angeles, this was like the place to go with. It was like super high end, very design forward, gorgeous furniture.
A
So this is brand new luxury furniture and designer decorations. And there was no preview available. So what does that mean? Sometimes you can go. And I've done wardrobe stuff where you could potentially go check stuff out before you bid. Not doing that because these warehouses aren't nearby. But this one wasn't even allowed. So I am looking for some new home goods and I got some good stuff. So sue, let us go down.
B
Wait, how did you find out that HD Buttercup was doing this? You were already on the site when you sign up. Oh, you get.
A
You get an email and it says what auctions are coming up.
B
Oh, no. Yeah, yeah. I gotta tell you this right off the bat, I'm very excited to hear about this, but I actually have reached my email alert limit. I'm gonna have to take one off to add this.
A
You know what I mean? Yeah.
B
Like, I cannot manage the amount of alerts that I'm getting.
A
Oh, I know.
B
And I do it to myself and I'm like, there is this store in Dallas. Do I need an alert from the store that I have never been to, But I love what they sell in Dallas. Yeah, I need it. I need it. Am I buying things from there?
A
No, but you need it.
B
But do I like to look at. Oh, this is a brand I haven't heard of. Like, they have, like, incredible curations. I'm like, oh, Then I.
A
And so it's part of your research. You know, it's your beat.
B
Okay, so you have added this to your email. This is your beat now. This is part of the production beat.
A
Yes. And in this episode, I look better than in the next episode. So that's a headline to make sure that you listen to the next episode. This is almost like a little bit braggy. And then next episode is where you come. Well, it's where everybody shrugs and everybody will ask why. This is actually admirable.
B
Yeah. Okay. You're thinking that our listeners are like, this is. I'm in for this. The next episode. That's when some of them just, like, not the hardcore just gotta tap out.
A
Or it's just pure entertainment for them. They're not gonna tap out, but they're not gonna agree with anything that I've done.
B
And we both have many times come to the table with such fare where it's entertaining or disgusting to some, and then for others, that's where they get their jollies.
A
Let's be in the here and now. Let's be in the here and now.
B
Let's be in the here and now. Okay, sorry, sorry. Go ahead. This age. Tell me what you got.
A
Buttercup, warehouse liquidation. Okay, so here are the hits. This is where I feel like, okay, pad my luck.
B
Start off strong.
A
Let's start off strong. Okay. Yeah. So suchin, I needed some more kitchen stools, and I got these organic modernism. That's the brand stools. New in the box. Retail price is 5.99 each.
B
Yeah, I mean, it's HD Buttercup.
A
It's HD Buttercup.
B
Those were the price. Those were the prices then.
A
So I got two for 78.65 each and another pair for 88.58 each. Brand new in the box.
B
Every time your little tush sits on these, money is inserted into the bank.
A
That's right.
B
Kind of like the rakuten.
A
It's just like it.
B
It's just like it.
A
It's just like it. I like this. I'm like, God, I'm a.
B
So I'm a master at wedding.
A
That's how I feel.
B
Wedding. I'm so excited, you know, and that's amazing. To get four stools for those prices.
A
Yeah, for that price, you know, and there. There were many more available. And so, you know, when you're having that experience of like, I'm putting in a bid and then at, you know, of course, as the auction is winding down, other people are bidding as well, and.
B
Oh, yeah, what is the strategy? Do you put in a bid and then you wait till the very last to closing or like 5 minutes before?
A
How do you. Well, there's interesting strategies, especially because this was. Again, this was a liquidation sale. So there was a lot. I. Sometimes I had some strategies. I don't know if it was the right strategy was like, sometimes once you put a bid on it, you. You're watching it. Right, Right. And you're also. You could also not bid on something and watch it as well. But as things start to heat up, I kind of like want to show that I'm sitting on this and I want to keep it low. I'm sitting on this, but I'm going to. If you try to bid above me, then know immediately I'm going to bid.
B
So that.
A
And that strategy is so that they get off and go to the other Stools. But if it goes too high, then I'm switching to other stools. Like, this is a. This is like. While this is happening, you guys, I had a Los Angeles pool party, and at one point.
B
Did you though? Cause you weren't there.
A
I was holding my phone mentally. My sister's boyfriend goes. Cause I told her about it, what I was up to, and my sister's boyfriend was like, what's going on with cool Ops? She's so, like, quiet. Like, she's on her phone. I was like. Cause I'm. I'm working. I'm working. This is about community for you guys, but for me, it's coinciding with me getting stools.
B
Oh, I see.
A
There was an overlap.
B
I see, I see.
A
So have your potluck. Easy water. This is easy.
B
Reese.
A
I'm trying to hold on to stools.
B
And you were trying to swat any ass that tries to sit on those stools.
A
But you're right too, Jennifer. If there's a stool that's too hot, then.
B
Too hot.
A
I'm gonna look at a cheaper stool. Look. That's what. It's simple in that way. It's so simple in that way, you know? But you got to be willing. You gotta be. Oh, yeah.
B
You gotta be willing to put in
A
a day to sit on the stools.
B
To sit on the stools.
A
It's like the.
B
During that documentary Hard Bodies, where, like, everybody had to touch a car.
A
That's right. It's like an old document. Yeah.
B
Touch your car. And the last one standing.
A
Wind gets the car.
B
And you. This is your hard body. Okay.
A
I also, for Emmy, got this. It's a Rowan Valley Laren six drawer dresser. It's white. It's new in the box.
B
Yep.
A
Retails for 4.99.
B
And reveal it. Reveal it.
A
94. 33.
B
94.
A
33. Brand new.
B
Is your mic wet? Is your mic wet?
A
And are you sliding down your seat right now?
B
Are your earbuds still in? Yeah. Have they slid out? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. This is like, this is the kind of sale.
A
This is the kind of sale.
B
This is the kind of sale that I. That I reanimate for.
A
It's. You know, I had a list of things I. I needed, and so when you actually can find them at these prices. Yeah.
B
Because you're not just. Just here for just any deal. No. You're getting deals on things you need. So it's like, this is the best kind of shopping.
A
And I'll say this now.
B
Yeah.
A
This is where I look good in the next episode.
B
Okay, okay. Okay.
A
Everyone's gonna question. Yeah, Me. And that's. And I know that. I know that.
B
That's why I'm starting putting this foot forward first, just so you know.
A
First.
B
Just so you know, there's also the. This version.
A
This is versions. Okay. I also bought art. I bought some art. I bought art.
B
Okay.
A
I like art. Okay. And this is original art. HD buttercup showroom floor sample retail $6.95. I got it for $99.83, and it's already framed.
B
Oh, she has it framed.
A
It's already framed.
B
It's.
A
And I needed that. I wanted something in this color, in this sort of color scheme. It's already framed.
B
Sort of muted, desert tone now.
A
Sure, sure. Does it on the tag say 695 and then down to 195?
B
Yes.
A
But even that, though. 99.83.
B
Still half that.
A
Pretty great. Yeah, pretty great.
B
Oh, framed, done and done. How many art pieces do I have just sitting rolled up, waiting to be friends?
A
Waiting. Yeah.
B
For the fridge.
A
Okay, so these were things that were in the showroom. And I got. I think I got three other pieces that, you know, I. I'm gonna have to, like, not, like, clean, basically, like a canvas that needs to be cleaned. Things like that, which I'll bring up later in my slight misses. My slight misses. But I also got one case consisting of nine each candles in the scent of. I got two cases. One was beach bungalow, and one was secluded cabin. So nine of these in a case which retail for about 3:15. And I got one box for 57. Smells divine. And of course, honey, am I thinking about gifts? Yes. Yes. I want to be at a Carol Lim status. She has, like, a gift closet. She's put in Manuka, honey. And things like that. That's who I want to be. I want to be Carolyn.
B
That gift closet is our Achilles heel. Collectively, it's such a specific Achilles heel. And I can't see outside of it, obviously, because we're in the middle of it. But someone like Mike is, like, when I'm like, oh, no, no, it's for gifting nothing. Both enrages and confuses him more than when I shop.
A
That's on brand, willy nilly. That's on brand for him.
B
But this gifting closet sickness that we all have, anyway, it's real.
A
Well, because he doesn't have to deal with giving gifts. He doesn't. Cause it's not even part of his purview. He's busy writing and eating meats.
B
I Got that six case of first leaf wines. I was so excited it came in time. Cause I was like, will it? Will it not? This is such a cute idea. He was like, what are you doing? You don't even drink. Why is there a case of wine for gifts? And why are you so excited? I'm like, teacher gifts. Teacher gifts. They're gonna be so excited to get these.
A
It's not his language. It's just not a language he speaks. He speaks a lot of languages. This isn't one of his.
B
Yeah, continue.
A
So now we move to the slight misses. I kind of billboarded it. I got this Calla Lilly's art showroom floor sample retail. So it's a big canvas. It's really big. It retails for 1,595. I got it for $86.91. I love big art. I have big art all over. So that's not the issue. It's just a little worn from being in the showroom. So I'm gonna have to mend the backing. I'm gonna have to Google how to clean a painted canvas. So I brought this up. Cause it's sort of the downside.
B
Downfall. Yes. So now you're like, when I buy art, am I gonna. Hey, listen, hey, listen. This is why you're on the beach.
A
That's why I'm on the beat. Yes.
B
And it's a service you provide.
A
That's right. Just know, oftentimes there will not be measurements. They're, you know, if it's really. If it's something's really like broken or then they'll say, like, they'll call it out. Yeah, they will. But oftentimes just wear and tear is not going to be called out. And there is no returns. Big headline. There is no returns. You're buying things as is another thing that was a slight miss. I got the organic modernism wood nesting bowls set of four. I got them for $33 in my mind. And I'm showing you this photo. All there was was a photo. I thought they, you know, I thought they would be like, not salad bowl sized, but like the biggest one would be like a pho bowl. And then we would go smaller from there. And what I got sort of a hand. They're small, but in my. I would say in my home goods Marshall's heart, I wouldn't have paid $33 for display wood bowls this size. But that's also just, you know, that's the risk. That's the risk. And that's the line that you're riding that.
B
And you spread that on those stools, which were a hit. Even if you add 33 mists to the four divided by you do the math.
A
Thank you for doing my accounting.
B
It's still in the black.
A
That's how I feel.
B
Good.
A
Okay. The last thing I want to bring up in terms of some slight misses. Some slight misses is HD buttercup knitted canvas zippered pillow. Retail $79 each. New in the box. I got them for 11.98 times 7. So each 12 bucks each for it. And the only photo that was available was this sort of terracotta stripe story, which I was like, yeah, I think that's kind of. I think that'll be good. So when I got it, it was a totally different color story, but I was overjoyed because it is.
B
Oh, it's.
A
It's.
B
Those aren't the same ones that they pictured at all.
A
At all.
B
It's not even about the color.
A
It's about.
B
They're completely different, but they're really nice. Yes. And they're black and white, which is.
A
Which is my thing. And they are like. Like the neutral. These. These are made in India also. That's the thing. It's like, they. They won't even say in the fight in print. They'll just call them neutral pillows. And they could be different neutral colors. And you just won't know because, again,
B
they're in a box there, and it's 11 bucks.
A
Okay. Which is amazing. But here's the issue, and I should have known this. Like, what do me and Zoe need as Tauruses In a pillow? In a blanket.
B
Such.
A
And pot. Soft, soft, soft. And I know what canvas is. And while these structurally are beautifully made and a great deal, I probably won't be using them. I don't know if I would even allow canvas on my buttocks. I don't know if I would let the. Unless I'm wearing cashmere.
B
Cashmere.
A
Am I wearing cashmere pants? And then using. Sitting on them. You know, it's just. These are. These are in the thrill of the hunt. In the. Just.
B
You forgot yourself.
A
I forgot myself.
B
You forgot yourself. And that happens. You can't harpoon a whale and always know what length your hair is, what color your pedicure is. You forget parts of yourself in the hunt.
A
This is true. This is true. Yeah. Yeah. The last thing I want to bring up. Of course. This is a game changer. Is a game changer.
B
Oh.
A
Because I was like, well, cool. How are you gonna go to this warehouse that Was being cleared out in the city of commerce. And who's lifting these big pieces of furniture? You know, in the past, I've gone to Sylmar to pick up three items of clothing. No problem. But these are large pieces of furniture. They suggested lug.com now, are you familiar
B
with U G G? No.
A
Lug.com. this is on demand movers who arrive within an hour. It is a website, is an app. I have cities. Yeah. Find out what cities.
B
Cause, oh, my God.
A
Yes, you. This is great. Because just to give this example of. I'm like, well, what am I gonna.
B
Oh, this exists because Facebook marketplace. Don't you think?
A
Yes.
B
Because, yeah, you're like, I just bought a piece of furniture. It's giant. I need someone to pick it up and drop it off. This is genius.
A
My first time booking it for this specific pickup from this warehouse. You know, you have to kind of guesstimate how big. I don't know how big these boxes are. Like, I had to kind of guess, But I think I. I went a little over in terms of size just to be safe. Two guys, they had to wait in line to get to this. It was such a popular auction that there was just a line. They waited like an hour to get to the location. So I thought for what they had to do, how much? I just, you know, it was more. I got guys, I got more than what I told you. Like, it was like $140 with tip. Like, it was so, so worth it. So worth it. I had no idea. It is a range, sue from, you know, a small to a truck, like, a small haul to, like, I think, movers, and you can track them in real time. So we communicated through the app. Yeah.

The episode is packed with practical recommendations, fails, and wins — all delivered in their signature open, candid, and comedic auntie style.

The tone is lively, personal, relatable, and peppered with self-deprecating humor, riffs, and honest confessions. Both hosts embrace the chaos of imperfect parenting and shopping, speak directly to their “carters” (listeners), and acknowledge the collective (often guilty) pleasures of self-care rituals, retail therapy, and gifting strategies.
This episode is a summer masterclass in embracing reality over aspiration, cleansing both your skin and your life, and leveraging the power of community (and online auctions!) for small daily wins — all while reminding listeners to laugh at themselves and aim for “easy breezy” over “Instagram-perfect.” Listeners leave with a refreshed shopping list, a few solidarity laughs, and permission to be messy and real all summer long.
