You forgot your bling. Wait. Welcome to another episode of Add to Cart. I am your Auntie Cuckoo v Lysack
Auntie Sue
and I'm your other auntie. So second park.
Auntie Cuckoo
Second Park. We are in our month of power. It is doubly powerful for me for this is the month of my birth.
Auntie Sue
Correct Mother's Day.
Auntie Cuckoo
Your birth Aapih yeah so sue just to billboard what I'm gonna be talking about. You know, I would say that my card is labeled. This is 46. What would you say your card is called?
Auntie Sue
Oh, my cart is called. Oh, God, I've got such a crazy, weird cart. But I guess the headline is, you don't have to hold your pee.
Auntie Cuckoo
And what a headline that is. Which is kind of.
Auntie Sue
This is 46 too. Somewhere.
Auntie Cuckoo
I mean, look, after hearing that, everyone's invested. They're leaning in. They're turning the volume up. They're not going anywhere is my point. All right, now, sue, this is your veteran journalism. This is how it just effortlessly comes out. We've locked him in.
Auntie Sue
I mean, turns out I have a gift for keeping people interested in something that they don't want to be at. And some would say that's my. Also the way I flirt and. And so.
Auntie Cuckoo
Like a kidnapper.
Auntie Sue
Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
All right, let's just go. Let's get into our add to carts. Okay, so, sue, this month I am turning 46. By the time this comes out, I shall be 46. And so I've been meaning to bring this up for a couple of months now.
Auntie Sue
I've been.
Auntie Cuckoo
How else to put it? But I'm undergoing some perimenopausal treatment.
Auntie Sue
Oh, you've entered. I've entered for a few months now.
Auntie Cuckoo
Now. A few months. Today. Just today I did my follow up. Okay, So I am on estrogen patches.
Auntie Sue
Love it.
Auntie Cuckoo
And oral progesterone.
Auntie Sue
Progesterone.
Auntie Cuckoo
Oof.
Auntie Sue
God.
Auntie Cuckoo
So have you been doing this? Why haven't you talked about this?
Auntie Sue
What do you mean? I've talked about it so much.
Auntie Cuckoo
No, you haven't.
Auntie Sue
Yes, I have. I've talked about it because I did it. I talked about patches I added to cart. Midi health.
Auntie Cuckoo
I remember you talking about MIDI health.
Auntie Sue
Yes. And so that's why I went to midi Health. And she was like, you need to be on estrogen patches and progesterone. And so I've been on this journey, and it's a game changer.
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay? I will acknowledge that you talked about midi health. I will acknowledge that you described what they could do for you, but I don't believe that you talked about results.
Auntie Sue
Okay.
Auntie Cuckoo
Do you agree? Is that possible?
Auntie Sue
You know what? Even if I did, couldn't tell you what I said about it.
Auntie Cuckoo
And that's why we're perimenopausal.
Auntie Sue
Correct.
Auntie Cuckoo
What a segment.
Auntie Sue
And if you have the memory where you remember this and we're repeating ourselves, well, you know what? Consider yourself blessed. Consider this a moment to pause the tape. To you can fast forward and do a little gratitude journaling. And you know what you say I am thankful for my juicy brain, my juicy ovaries. And you don't have to listen to us rehashing this if we did in fact once rehash it. So go on.
Auntie Cuckoo
I mean, look, I am very self interested. Very possible.
Auntie Sue
Let's.
Auntie Cuckoo
Look, I'm coming at you, but it's possible that you did talk about it. I admit it all. Okay, sorry, I apologize. But yeah, I've been on. I went on the patch first week because she was like, the conversations I've had with my. I really like my doctor. She's my gynecologist. She is. She doesn't do babies anymore. It's for. She's about this journey.
Auntie Sue
That's where.
Auntie Cuckoo
Where she's at. She's about this journey and we've in the past talked about. I'm like, well, what? As my peers are clearly like, I think I'm perimenopausal. I'm like, what should I be looking for? And what symptoms would differentiate from me being a mom?
Auntie Sue
Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
You know, and she's like, none. I was like, got it.
Auntie Sue
Yeah. Because the symptom list is like, it's crazy. It's like everything from. I mean, you name it, you name any physical oddity that you could experience and it's on the list. Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
And also it's like, is it. Do I have brain fog memory? You know what I mean? It's like, oh, also I'm like a 45 year old with a 3 year old. Like, what is it like?
Auntie Sue
No. You don't know?
Auntie Cuckoo
I don't know. But the thing that I could grasp she was asking me questions too is like, my libido's low. You know, my sleep has been kind of weird. You know the fog. Yes. I don't know. Immediately taking the patches, like the first week, I was like, oh, huh, I see. I felt immediately better. Energy came back once at like a week after I started the patches, I started the progesterone. My sleep got better. I slept through the night. I was waking up kind of mid.
Auntie Sue
And you're a good sleeper.
Auntie Cuckoo
I was back in the day. I was so all these things. I'm like, okay, you know. Well, like to me it's like because I'm such a simple person, I was just like, sex drive, sex drive, sleep. You're disrupted, something's wrong. Like it takes, you know, it takes that much for me. So I'm on that journey. We had our follow up Were going to try me upping my estrogen to see where I think we're cool with progesterone. But like. But this is 46. And the thing that she brought up today, she's like, those things that you were unsure of were about perimenopause now you know, because if you feel better, those things that you're wondering about, this treatment verifies. And I was like, okay. Because there just still is so much mystery when it comes to the stage of women's lives.
Auntie Sue
Oh, yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
Are you at a testosterone please?
Auntie Sue
Not there. I'm not. I'm not there yet. But that'll be the next phase. I have a follow up in a few weeks.
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay.
Auntie Sue
To discuss all that stuff.
Auntie Cuckoo
Wow.
Auntie Sue
But I'm. I'm happy with where I've gotten. And I've probably been doing this for two years now. Where I've gotten so far with the patches and the progesterone, like, the. If it just stabilizes here, I'm okay with it. You know, I'd like to zhuzh up some other areas and maybe adding the testosterone will help. But if this was it, I'm so much happier sitting here now than I was two years ago.
Auntie Cuckoo
I'm not keen on, like, pushing it.
Auntie Sue
Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
Like, I don't need to put the gas pedal on this treatment. You know, I mean, I want to just like, let's just see about things. Like, I'm not like, interested in, like, in libido. She was telling me all that's available to the point of, like, shots like Viagra, but, like, you would shoot yourself before. I'm like, that's just. I don't see that in my future. Like, that's not like the painting of my life. That's not what I imagined my oil paintings to be. You know what I mean? When you're thinking about who you are and who you want to become, like, that's not in it. It's not in my vision board.
Auntie Sue
Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
No. As the artist, as an architect of my life, like, that's not the addition.
Auntie Sue
There's not a patch big enough, a shot long enough for me to want to do that.
Auntie Cuckoo
It's really funny to talk to, like, my therapist in terms of, like, sex drive and stuff. And she's like, my therapist is so opposite my mom in that. Like, again, she's older than my mom. Again, my mom only watches TV and YouTube and doesn't leave her apartment. Meanwhile, my therapist is, like, vacationing to Vietnam and, like, riding bikes. Like, riding her bike through, like, just different Types of people. Right. Like.
Auntie Sue
And we need to see that.
Auntie Cuckoo
We need. And I need to see that.
Auntie Sue
Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
Like, me needs to see that. Me, too. But she was just talking about. She's like, yeah, like my friends. It's like, we just do it for our husbands. I feel like I'm entering a club where. Yeah. Where people are talking about things that they haven't talked about before and just to kind of hear that. And this is. You talk about it all the time, but that has nothing to do with you being pyramid and puzzle.
Auntie Sue
No, no.
Auntie Cuckoo
Like I said, there's no bearing on that. Yeah. That's not. Like, in case studies go.
Auntie Sue
No. And now with the way that the world is with the news, we don't need to talk about the files or anything like that here. It's not the time and the place, but it's just like. It's really hard to just, like, get it for a dude and a dude that you love, you know, and you want to be around, and that makes you laugh. It's just. It's tricky. So it's. You know, I'd say it's a long pause, but I wouldn't say it's off the table.
Auntie Cuckoo
But I. Yeah. I was very, very high libido for the long time, you know, like. And now it's like, it's. I'm shifting into something, but I'm still verbally disgusting.
Auntie Sue
I'm still handsy.
Auntie Cuckoo
Oh, beyond, like, still. The poor man can't walk by without getting fondled. That remains.
Auntie Sue
But you just don't want to maybe cash that check. Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
And it's just here with the kid. And now she's dropped a nap. It's like, when's it happening? I don't know. I don't know. I just don't know.
Auntie Sue
Yeah. You're looking into a black hole with that question here.
Auntie Cuckoo
I really wish, like, if I had took photos of the face you just gave me, it would. It's so memeable. I don't know. It was like a little like a shrugging. Like, Tobler Keebler elf shrugging.
Auntie Sue
That's what she looked like. It was wild. I mean, I. I know when I'm not needed or wanted, you know? And I can step back and let whoever. Any voice that wants to step in here to give you an answer. Feel free. I am not a narcissist. I'm an egomaniac. I do not want the spotlight. So anyone wants to chime in, please.
Auntie Cuckoo
But isn't that more speaking to your disinterest and less about your altruism.
Auntie Sue
It's. I'm interested. I'm interested in you as a person, in life. This is true, true volunteer work.
Casey Wilson
And.
Auntie Sue
And I know, you know, I know that there is a time when you bring others up. You know, they say, let the children lead. You know, Isn't that what she said? Yep. Let them, you know, show us the way.
Auntie Cuckoo
You're talking about Whitney Houston song.
Auntie Sue
Yeah. Correct.
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay, so this is 46. I'm debating for my birthday now. Doing something with my hair. Now, I'm not talking about hiding grays. I'm not talking about doing a cherry cola red that the lady who I did colors suggested really wants me to do. Not doing that. But I'm thinking just to mix it up. And you guys know I like to change my hair up. Maybe like a silver balayage. Like.
Auntie Sue
What does that even mean? I don't know what a balayage is.
Auntie Cuckoo
So not hitting. It's not hitting the roots here, but more. But putting the lighting colors towards the bottom.
Auntie Sue
Okay. And they put the color in.
Auntie Cuckoo
I will have to take color. So. Meaning I'd have to bleach the ends.
Auntie Sue
Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
And they would put silver at the ends. Yeah, at the ends. And that way it's not about roots. Right, right. It's about, like. And then if I trim. Who cares? You know, kind of thing.
Auntie Sue
Just a little something.
Auntie Cuckoo
Those little somethings.
Auntie Sue
Those little somethings. Because we're looking at our mugs all day, every day. Even the littlest thing, I get bored. It's such a big difference.
Auntie Cuckoo
I get bored.
Auntie Sue
Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
I just get bored. I gotta mix it up.
Auntie Sue
That's right. You gotta tie a scarf around it.
Auntie Cuckoo
Gotta tie a scarf around it. But I'm not willing to go back because you knew me in my blonde days.
Auntie Sue
Blonde.
Auntie Cuckoo
Just the work. The processing of dyeing hair takes too long. I don't have the patience for it. I'd rather do anything else.
Auntie Sue
Oh, God. Sitting in a salon. You'll never catch me.
Auntie Cuckoo
Yeah.
Auntie Sue
Again.
Auntie Cuckoo
Well, that's why people come to my house.
Auntie Sue
Yeah, exactly.
Auntie Cuckoo
That's what I'm interested in. Me and Scott get haircuts at home.
Auntie Sue
We don't. I.
Auntie Cuckoo
We go to bubble cuts for Emmy so she can sit on a chair that looks like a pink Corvette.
Auntie Sue
Now, I've talked a lot about my midlife hormone journey with our Carters here, and the most overwhelming thing about getting to the bottom of your energy levels. Before we jump into your cart, the other thing I want to bring up is that because of their newest album, Emmy and I are a full BTS army. In 2020. My sister, because she. She is card carrying army. Like, my sister has a tattoo of one of their albums. Like, when I tell you she's seen them at least four times in concert. Like, she's a fan. And I was like, oh, okay, all right. And then I did this project that was like in the world of K pop. So I got to know the music and the system a lot more.
Auntie Sue
But then I sucked you in.
Auntie Cuckoo
I couldn't say that I was a true fan until this most recent album, Aryang, and pulled my daughter in and my daughter Soochin. I have not even sent you the videos.
Auntie Sue
Leading the charge.
Auntie Cuckoo
Poor Scott has had to suffer through oh, my God, K pop Demon hunters on repeat.
Auntie Sue
When he's like talking about new wave scoff from British underground clubs in the 70s. Now he's singing up, up, up.
Auntie Cuckoo
He's not singing. He's like, every day. My daughter's like, who's your favorite bts? He's like, gary.
Auntie Sue
There's not Gary.
Auntie Cuckoo
Mine is Ji Min. Who's your favorite Arthur. And she's just like. She's always like, dad, can you play swim? Can you play swim? He is.
Auntie Sue
Oh, my God.
Auntie Cuckoo
Can you please?
Auntie Sue
He's not talking to you about this in the middle of the night, just quite under the covers, you know, in bed, asking you for help. Like, how is he gonna get through this?
Auntie Cuckoo
It's a lot right now, and I don't think he understands that this is gonna be a long haul.
Auntie Sue
Oh, he thinks that this is just
Auntie Cuckoo
like a little I Don't know what he thinks or he's just accepted his fate. It's very similar to how he just accepts, you know, my Christmas stuff. This is who he is, and that's why we work. You know, he just says, yeah, but that's.
Auntie Sue
That's once a year.
Auntie Cuckoo
Oh, by the way, she mainly does it with him at night because she wants him to sing with her.
Auntie Sue
Oh, yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
She knows she's singing Christmas carols. To this day. I've created a monster.
Auntie Sue
Well, those are the easiest songs to sing. You know, we can't help it if those were bops and hits and universally loved. Yeah. We're not artists, we're not musicians.
Auntie Cuckoo
But just to honor our month and talk again about representation, just the fact that, like our kids, I mean, Emmy is being brought up in a time where K Pop Demon hunters wins an Oscar. And they're these strong characters who are singers and they also fighters and like, like that exists. And then there's Hunt tricks who are real people. And she knows Audrey Nuna, Ram Hee, ej. And then like bts, she understands that they're Korean. And sometimes they sing in Korean, sometimes they sing in English. It's crazy. Almost every other day, I'm struck by it.
Auntie Sue
Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
And with bts, like, she likes Cat's Eye. I like Cat's Eye. The girls do a lot of brain rot songs. No. No shade. But with pop star girls, they tend to wear very revealing clothing, which is great. It's. Hey. Body positivity. But it's tricky with a little girl. Is just like to know that their value. It's hard to differentiate being valued and being an empowerment. It's like, it's a tough conversation. What's nice with the BTS boys is like, that's not an issue. Do you know what I mean?
Auntie Sue
Yeah. Well, because they're boys.
Auntie Cuckoo
They're boys. Yeah. They're not. Not so much wearing, you know, booty
Auntie Sue
shorts and like, they don't have to just sell albums. We do. Yes, yes.
Auntie Cuckoo
And. But that we can't talk. That's a hard.
Auntie Sue
Of course. Of course.
Auntie Cuckoo
Conversation. But anyways, so that's also. This is 46.
Auntie Sue
She keeps you young. She keeps it fun and bouncy. That's her job.
Auntie Cuckoo
It is like I said this to my sister the other day. It's like one of the best things about parenting is that to see these. The things that you know and are old hat, you're jaded about and to see it through their fresh, juicy eyes. Back to Scott and Emmy, she was like oh, let's sing another Christmas song. But it's not jingle bells. So Scott goes, jingle bells. Batman smells. Robin laid an egg. And she's like, what? What? The Batmobile lost its wheels. Like the Joker got away.
Auntie Sue
Hey.
Auntie Cuckoo
Or like Joker peed on the wall or something. She's like, oh, my God. Like, just like this. The novelty, the, you know, like her zest for life. And then she hears it one time and then the next day singing it to her dad. Like, just unbridled joy filled with discovery and, like, you know, like, that's it. I'm becoming a Disney parent. Because it's so fun. Like, it's fun to take her and for her to have these new experiences in a safe environment, you know, like, before, when I was going to Disneyland, it was to recapture a childhood I never had, you know? And now. Yeah, exactly. Now it's just about her and, like, getting high off her wonderment. Like, it's crazy. Let's take a quick break and we will be back with Suchin Park's cartoon.
Auntie Sue
So, you know, I'm always on the hunt for a great vintage. Find a gem at a great price. And now there's a new way to do this. We're back on Add to Cart. I'm Auntie Cuckoo.
Auntie Sue
And I'm Auntie Sue. And what was the top?
Auntie Cuckoo
It was like.
Auntie Sue
What was my cart's title again? Well, it's like you can pee anywhere.
Auntie Cuckoo
I mean that's. I don't think it was exactly, but that works too.
Auntie Sue
Yeah, you can be anywhere. My cart. I have one thing in my cart that I want to share with everyone. It for me has been a game changer. If you've been on this add to cart journey with us from EP1, you know I don't need to rehash it. So what a joy and a delight to see our dear friend, your bestie, Casey Rose Wilson. And did you see this clip from her podcast?
Casey Wilson
I've finally done it.
Auntie Sue
I didn't know it was a goal or a dream, so I'm glad I now know that the dream was met.
Casey Wilson
It was more just something I always knew was coming for me and it was like I'm hurtling towards it my whole life and I finally accepted it. And that is I peed in a cup on an Airplane in my seat. I like to sit in a window seat. I do a lot of work to not drink water, which isn't hard for me, so that I don't have to climb over everybody. The idea of saying to someone, waking them up on a plane, that's already hell, Right? A guy next to me who's very cute, very young, very tall, so his legs extend so long. I lie down, I sleep a little, I wake up, I have to pee at a level I can't even express you. He is out cold. All I have is my clear glass, a Diet Coke. So it's hard because I just drink that really quick because I also have to pee. So now I'm on borrowed time. What am I going to do with that cup brimming? I can't leave that for a human being, right?
Auntie Sue
No, you can't.
Casey Wilson
So I look to my left, and when God closes the door, doesn't he open a window? Because there was a very tiny Missoni cosmetics bag.
Auntie Sue
God closes the door, he opens up
Casey Wilson
a Missoni makeup bag.
Auntie Sue
Yeah.
Casey Wilson
I just take my big coat, I put it over me and I just pee in the cup. And now it's full. Okay.
Auntie Sue
Wow, Casey, it's really bad.
Auntie Cuckoo
Is it?
Auntie Sue
I just think there was an easier solution, which is you waking this man up.
Auntie Cuckoo
I'm truly aghast.
Auntie Sue
Okay. So I'm listening to this dying for so many reasons, but I'm like, casey, I have an answer for you. So I've been wanting to give this answer and I knew that I would do it on the pod because we're gonna help her out here. And for anybody else who is stuck in a window seat or a middle seat. For anyone else who was going on a 14 hour drive in a van to ski many times a year. For anyone who is driving from LA in the middle of the night and doesn't want to stop at a gas station to use a public restroom. Cause it doesn't feel safe. You get it?
Auntie Cuckoo
The beauty of you and you doing this. You watch this. And you're like, PSA time. Meanwhile, I am so disturbed and aghast
Auntie Sue
at my son's behavior, I'm like, let me make this easy for you, Casey. Let me make this, dare I say, elegant. The technology I bring to you.
Auntie Cuckoo
Yeah. So this is a solution. So when you have the instinct.
Auntie Sue
Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
You have the instinct to pee on.
Auntie Sue
On a plane.
Auntie Cuckoo
To pee on a plane. Under a blanket.
Auntie Sue
Under a blanket. And she didn't have this technology. And I know she's listening right now because we're gonna send her this clip and she had to pee in multiple cups. Is overflowing and. What?
Auntie Cuckoo
I'm just saying. No, I really want you to. You're going to do it. It's great. I just. I can't get past the premise.
Auntie Sue
I was lightly entertained, but mostly I was like, wow, this is my moment.
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay. Yep, yep. You're stepping up to the plate. You're meeting it. That's right.
Auntie Sue
Yes, that's right. That's like. It's akin to a specialist with a rare disease. A rare disease specialist. And just at the supermarket you run into someone who says, gee, I've been having this problem. And I'm like, wait till I blow your mind. So go ahead and click on this link here.
Auntie Cuckoo
It's poised pads.
Auntie Sue
Okay, I'll hit the.
Auntie Cuckoo
It's not.
Auntie Sue
No, it's not.
Auntie Cuckoo
It's not poise pads.
Auntie Sue
I said I'm bringing you new technology.
Auntie Cuckoo
Sorry, I guess I didn't hear that. I was assuming.
Auntie Sue
Yeah, yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay. Well, what the fuck is this? All right, the brand is Umi.
Auntie Sue
There's many brands.
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay, so this brand is Umi. It's 800 milliliter emergency disposable urinal bags.
Auntie Sue
Correct.
Auntie Cuckoo
They're pee bags. Unisex vomit bag, portable toilet bag for men and women. Don't
Auntie Sue
speed through this. It says for what?
Auntie Cuckoo
For travel.
Auntie Sue
Correct.
Auntie Cuckoo
Also, can you Also for.
Auntie Sue
Also for. Read the description for travel.
Auntie Cuckoo
Traffic jam.
Auntie Sue
Traffic jam.
Auntie Cuckoo
Can I just make the point, though? It's like, wake up the guy that's on the aisle and go to the toilet. Like, why? I just.
Auntie Sue
Hey, listen, I'm not gonna get into it. I'm not gonna get into the psyche, the psychology of the misogyny. I'm not gonna get into the patriarchy misogyny.
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay, go ahead.
Auntie Sue
I'm sorry, I'm just gonna get to the technology. All right, now, what is this?
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay, they're pee bags. It says it right in the.
Auntie Sue
To the untrained eye, their peabags.
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay. To the trained eye, what are they?
Auntie Sue
To the trained, experienced, real life person in the trenches, I'm going to point out two different things. Yes, it is a disposable bag that you pee into. I'm going to point out the first piece of technology that is going to be of interest to Casey and some of our listeners is that. But if you notice, there is an attachment to the top of the bag that is kind of like almost like a cup.
Auntie Cuckoo
Yeah. But it's more gentle in profile. Like a carafe or like a.
Auntie Sue
That's right. A carafe. And what that carafe does is it snugs right around your cooch. It hugs all the curves of the woman that you are. And what it does, oh, so gently is to hold you. Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
I guess oftentimes as women, we talk about not being held.
Auntie Sue
That's right, that's right. That's right. With the oh, so gentle touch, it. It snugly holds you safely in your couch. It's a seal. It's not a harsh seal. It's not a violent seal. It's not one that is unwanted. It is but a gentle hug around the parts that need to be hugged in this time of need.
Auntie Cuckoo
You know, if you scroll down a little lower, they have diagrams. I think they're very helpful.
Auntie Sue
That's a piece of technology that I want to bring to you because I. In my search, when I stumbled upon these bags. There are bags, let me tell you, that do not have this cup, that do not have this hold. And you can do it.
Auntie Cuckoo
Sure. I mean, you could use a Ziploc bag.
Auntie Sue
Yeah, yeah. You can go into a porta potty if that is the life decision that you need to make for you. You know, you're at Coachella and you want to go into the porta. That is a you decision. That isn't a me decision. No, I'm not going into a porta potty.
Auntie Cuckoo
No, you're parking right in front of Sabrina Carpenter, and you're going to pull
Auntie Sue
this out, and no one will even know. I will bring down my prairie skirt snugly being held by my cup.
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay.
Auntie Sue
That is the first piece of technology. You know, the second piece of technology. And I need for you to listen to this. Cool off.
Auntie Cuckoo
All right.
Auntie Sue
I'll show you very closely. Inside this bag is a little rectangular square. It looks like a piece of paper.
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay.
Auntie Sue
But what that piece of paper will do is the second liquid touches it, it will turn it into a solid gel. Go ahead. Go ahead.
Auntie Cuckoo
This is the.
Auntie Sue
This is before my office hours are open.
Auntie Cuckoo
Yeah, before, when you were saying technology, I thought you were using that term really loosely, like you were being very generous within. How dare you? Now, we are talking about, I would say technology, space age. Now, I see that you were. You were actually being rational.
Auntie Sue
I am going to go on a limb and say the recent space launch.
Auntie Cuckoo
You talking about Artemis 2?
Auntie Sue
I'm telling you, Artemis 2 must have these strips somewhere.
Auntie Cuckoo
Sure.
Auntie Sue
So what does that mean? When this strip turns liquid into a solid gel? You're not gonna spill.
Auntie Cuckoo
You're not Gonna leak though, guys. The way she looks so smug. It's crazy. It's crazy.
Auntie Sue
What did I say? Rare disease doctor. Here, fucking give me the title.
Auntie Cuckoo
Oh my God, she's laying it on so thick now.
Auntie Sue
You see, when this came across my feed and our dear friend of the pod, a precious jewel.
Auntie Cuckoo
She is.
Auntie Sue
She is. She's a national treasure. Yes, a national treasure. Writer, comedian, actress, author. First for me, incredible mind when I saw that she could. That she had to engage in some undignified act to relieve any pain or discomfort. And I said, wait, I have an answer for that.
Auntie Cuckoo
You have a solution?
Auntie Sue
Is this. So that is what I'm bringing to the cart. The only thing in my cart that I can bring to the world, and more specifically to Casey, to just lean
Auntie Cuckoo
in a little further, is the polymer. So it's SAP SAP water absorbing polymer substance that can absorb urine, vomit or other liquid waste. And it turns it into an odorless spill proof gel.
Auntie Sue
Oh, and it can instantly skip on la de da over odorless, odorless, spill proof.
Auntie Cuckoo
And it can instantly absorb the liquid into gel within 60 seconds.
Auntie Sue
Seconds.
Auntie Cuckoo
Know that there are layers within that paper we've got. They've really made a point to say virgin wood pulp layer. Yeah, it's eco friendly, really important.
Auntie Sue
Eco friendly.
Auntie Cuckoo
The SAP polymer absorbent resin.
Auntie Sue
Mother nature taketh and she giveth.
Auntie Cuckoo
Yeah, it looks like from the example, you pour it on there and in the third sort of diagram, you can grab it with your hand and just treat it like fine sand.
Auntie Sue
If you want again, you're kink.
Auntie Cuckoo
That is what you're into.
Auntie Sue
We are kink, open and friendly here. It's a kink safe place. But what I'm telling you is I'm bringing you technology. That's all I can do.
Auntie Cuckoo
What I thought you were gonna do was gonna bring up this little loop that's on the side. I thought you were gonna talk about it.
Auntie Sue
Which is helpful. Which is helpful. There's a. Why is there a loop there? Because, I mean, first of all, it seals. All right, so you're done. And it has a Ziploc, very tight seal. And then you can, you know, loop it.
Auntie Cuckoo
Go ahead, Sue, Please speak your mind. What can you loop it?
Auntie Sue
I mean, I'm just riffing here, but say I'm in a passenger seat and you know, there's someone, an eight foot tall man snoring next to me and I'm like, oh, where do I put this? I don't want to, I don't know, accidentally. Some of the gel to Come out. You could just clip it right into, like, your tote bag onto. Onto a keychain or. Yeah, or something. A belt buckle if you wanted to. You know, there's so many things that you can.
Auntie Cuckoo
And that I do believe is a such and pock riff. We've got diagrams from the company here where that loop is for your thumb to hold as you're standing and peeing. But that. Okay. Also, you always think outside the box
Auntie Sue
in case you didn't want to lose it.
Auntie Cuckoo
And that's your fear.
Casey Wilson
I mean.
Auntie Cuckoo
Okay. And again, this is for unisex use now, Suchin Park. Where have you used it in your life? Is it. When haven't you used it? When you give me that.
Auntie Sue
I mean, the pleasure is so intense that sometimes I wish that there was no bathroom. To feel, let's just say, to pee into this thing and feel it turning to solid gel. It's. It's a kind of satisfaction that really only good technology can bring, that only
Auntie Cuckoo
peeing into technology can give you.
Auntie Sue
I mean, where do we go from here in terms of urine technology?
Auntie Cuckoo
I mean, I didn't know we could go here.
Auntie Sue
I know. That's what I'm saying. But where can we even go farther? I don't know. I don't know what the farther thing is.
Auntie Cuckoo
The further thing.
Auntie Sue
You felt.
Auntie Cuckoo
The further thing is. That's it. You knew where I was going. I mean, it looks like you go to H Mart or a convenience store in Japan. It looks like those drinks.
Auntie Sue
Yeah, I mean, I guess.
Auntie Cuckoo
You know what I mean? The future.
Auntie Sue
We don't know what this earth brings. I have all the faith in Umi.
Auntie Cuckoo
This earth or the next, Right?
Auntie Sue
Yeah. Like, that may be where we're at. And I'm not so far from that, because once you experience this, once you experience when you are in desperate need of a bathroom, right? And you would. If someone said to you right now, you have to write me a check for $1,000, you would give that. You wouldn't even hesitate. Okay. We've all been at a point in our lives where, like, you know what I mean, that was that urgent. And you couldn't imagine if I then basically gave you the world's grandest bathroom open. You know what I mean to you pry all of these things in that moment, like a genie in a fucking bottle. Like this thing, like, when you really need it, you're just like, holy shit, take all of my money. Like, this is incredible. For those of you who really get
Auntie Cuckoo
where we're at, I'm a Little concerned for you. Your zealotry. Okay. It kind of reminds me a little bit of. It's like I'm worried that you're putting yourself in positions wherein you're edging yourself. So the point of your bladder bursting so that you may use this. It's like you're putting in places where there's no bathrooms. It's like. It's like somebody who's constantly chasing the high can't jump from taller and taller buildings.
Auntie Sue
You know how free solo. Yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
This is a free solo situation with you. And.
Auntie Sue
Yeah. And you know how that person is like, I free soloed the face of that rock. What's next for you? Yeah. And for me, my free solo is where and when can I do this? And I want to be at the top of my game. I want to plant that flag in places nobody's been. That is my journey. That is my sport.
Auntie Cuckoo
That's your Artemis 3.
Auntie Sue
It's my Artemis 3.
Auntie Cuckoo
It's you pissing.
Auntie Sue
Go on.
Auntie Cuckoo
You pissing. I guess simply on the moon without gravity. But who cares about gravity when you've got that hold?
Auntie Sue
I mean, that's why I said, how do you improve on this?
Auntie Cuckoo
Take it to space. You said it was NASA, but it. But. But I'm saying, like, for you, what would be the ultimate. What would be your, you know, your Mount Everest would be to do this in space.
Auntie Sue
My imagination is not big enough. Wow. The situation will arise, and I'll be like, holy shit, I can't believe I just did that. And I will bring it to you here first.
Auntie Cuckoo
We have to go. But can you confirm that you have driven from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles and have used this?
Auntie Sue
Oh, yeah.
Auntie Cuckoo
And in that moment, you're driving. You're only wearing pants.
Auntie Sue
No, no, no, no. I'm not doing it while I'm driving. No, you pull over.
Auntie Cuckoo
All right. Thank you for that. That makes sense.
Auntie Sue
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, no. Be safe, be safe, be safe. I'm an auntie, after all, first and foremost. Then a technologist. First auntie than a technologist. Be safe. Be strapped in. Be seat belted, you know.
Auntie Cuckoo
Wow. What an informative, enlightening add to cart. Thank you. Thank you for staying till the end.
Auntie Sue
I mean, and you're welcome, Right? What a gift.
Auntie Cuckoo
What a reward.
Auntie Sue
And you thought it was just gonna be another paddle?
Auntie Cuckoo
I did. I actually thought that, yeah.
Auntie Sue
And I think most of our listeners thought that. And so, you know, I skip into the rest of my day with the type of lightness and smugness only the righteous can claim and I thank you for that gift. Leave a comment I don't know what you could possibly say other than thank you in our instagram post @attacartpod. Go ahead, come at me. Office hours will be open when this goes live. Auntie Sue
Really?
Auntie Cuckoo
And you just put in your info and boom. Cars in your budget.

Auntie Sue

Add to Cart: "First Auntie, Then Technologist"
Hosts: Kulap Vilaysack ("Auntie Cuckoo") & SuChin Pak ("Auntie Sue")
Date: May 15, 2026
This episode, airing during the hosts’ self-proclaimed “month of power,” is a classic blend of humor, midlife honesty, and practical recommendations. Kulap and SuChin share what they're “adding to cart” at age 46, oscillating between perimenopausal journeys, midlife self-discoveries, BTS fandom, parenting joys, and a tech-forward deep dive into a truly innovative (and hilarious) highlight: disposable emergency urinal bags for women on the go. The episode offers both laughter and genuinely useful tips, presented in their signature auntie-to-auntie banter.
As always, Kulap and SuChin maintain their authentic, auntie-as-mentor-comedian energy. Whether discussing bodily changes, BTS, or innovative ways to relieve yourself en route, their conversation is refreshingly candid, irreverent, and warm-hearted. They normalize the very things most women are told to whisper about—transforming awkwardness into actionable, sometimes ingenious, laughter-laced advice.
First Auntie, Then Technologist sees the hosts redefining what it means to “add to cart” in your forties: new self-knowledge, honest conversation, and yes, a space-age urinal in your glove compartment. From hormone therapy to travel hacks and K-pop karaoke with a kid, it’s an episode about transformative midlife choices, the magic of representation, and innovation that brings “only good technology can bring.”
