I'm so annoyed because I would say nine times out of 10, I am wearing darn tough socks, many of which were gifted to me from Cool up last Christmas. They are my absolute favorite, those guys. Exactly. I've got the ankle high ones. I've got calf high ones. I've got. I wear them on hikes. I wear them at the house. I wear them all day, every day.

Oh, I've been on Hocus for years. Hokas changed everything for me. I was on a. I can't remember what show I was on, but I was on some show. And, like, I'd say 50% of the camera operators, the guys lugging around big, heavy cameras were. Were wearing the original, like, HOKA ones. And I was like, what are you. What are those? What is happening? What's going on? And they were like, oh, these are these shoes. Blah, blah, blah. Immediately got a pair.

Yeah.

[Jason Mantzoukas]

Immediately got a pair and was like, whoa, this is the greatest. And now I'm like, wall to wall hocus.

[Sujin Pak]

Yeah, yeah. You're just. It's like between your foot being encased in a Darnie. Yeah. And then. And then being also encased in a duvet. A duvet of a sneaker, just like such.

[Jason Mantzoukas]

And you know, it's interesting because Hocus came around right at the same time as there was a. Simultaneously a concurrent craze for no cushioning, barefoot style shoes and runners and like, all of these kind of like Ulta and all these brands that are Primal runners. Exactly. That are all about, like, flat feet, barefoot, running, the. Those fucking toe shoes that make me so ugly. So ugly. And then Hokas arrived, which are maximalist. They are. Guess what? We took all the cushioning from those other shoes that they didn't want. We put them in these shoes.

There's heated insulation in these shoes.

Ugh. The best hoka's I've got now. I've got the boots, the hiking boots. I wear them in the winter. I wear them in this. Come on. Forget about it. Hoka.

I mean, I don't know if this is the right trajectory. I don't own a pair of Uggs, but I feel like. Right. Isn't this, like, the way that you end up.

[Jason Mantzoukas]

Well, I don't know about Uggs, but I. No way. I think. No, I think like a shoe. Wait, you think we're gonna end up in hugs in Uggs rather.

By the way, I do think we're gonna end up in hugs. God help me if the end of this Line is Uggs. No. The answer is no. But you know what? You know what? The my. Well, here's my question for you. And this could very easily. This almost was on my add to cart. What are you wearing currently? What are you wearing in. Inside your home? Because when I walk through the door, my hoke has come off, my boots come off, whatever I've been wearing in the world come off, and I go straight into slippers.

Well, they are specifically Birkenstock slippers.

Wait, so then are your Crocs just for the garage?

Crocs are for outside in the garage. Yeah. This is how close I am with Jason. Oh, yeah. So I will take these slippers off just to take the trash out. Slippers off, Crocs on, take the trash out. Come. I just did it early when I walked down to the garage. I was like, I gotta put the crocs on. And then I gotta. There's so many, like, just indiscriminate pairs of sneakers, shoes, Crocs, and slippers strewn about this house, all of which are identical to each other.

And. But they all serve a different purpose. I mean, exactly. You can't absolutely. Now walk me back, because I'm going full. Just darn toughs. And I have to say, inside, outside, I mean, I'm getting my money's worth. I'm getting my money's worth. They said they have lifetime guarantee. We shall see. We shall see that lifetime guarantee.

So I was like, oh, wait a minute.

I can't even believe this. Like, I just. It's so exciting. I'm so excited.

What I realized was, oh, I'm not supposed to spend. I'm not supposed to spend so much time without any arch support. Without any support. I have flat feet. I'm 50 years old. My body is done.

Soochin is out of her chair. She's out of her chair.

You guys, you guys, this is. I mean, I don't know if I can continue this episode. I don't think I can be professional. This is what I'm talking about. I knew. I knew this is where you were gonna go. Because I look at house slippers and I'm like, that's not enough arch support. My back is going to be killing me. So what I've done is I generally will take a really good hiking shoe and make that my indoor shoe. But that's such a pain to get.

And then event.

You'll get it mixed up.

Yes. And. And eventually you're like, I'll just run outside and do X, Y and Z. And then your indoor shoes now have dirt on them, so forget about it. You got to burn those and start afresh.

So I. I started by just getting Birkenstocks. Just a. A pair of Birkenstocks. Regular, like Arizona or whatever it was. And it was great and I loved it. But they aren't slippers. They aren't cozy. Right. In my mind, I want in the house to be cozy. And so I got these ones. Cause they have, like, a little fluffy lining. They're wool felted, like a wool exterior. So they're cozier than just like a regular pair of sandals, which I kind of didn't love wearing just sandals inside. So I. So now I have V. I bought three pairs of these slippers. Zappos. Zappos sees me coming, is like, oh, thank God. We're gonna stay in. We're gonna stay in business.

We're gonna stay in business. Manzoukas needs more sl. Hocus. But so. So I. I've gotten these, and they are game changers. It has been like, my back has been like, so much better during this period. You know, if you know how you've packed and you need. All you need is quick like a socks, a pair of underwear, another whatever, or just your toiletries, or you just are grabbing the individual pouch or cube that has exactly what you want.

Well, and it's like assembling a puzzle or. Cool up. Or a Lego set.

You know, for me, this is all about, like, figuring out how to pack everything inside of each individual thing for organization, but then how to fit them all perfectly in.

Oh, my God. Show you one of my suitc. Really turn that. Yeah. Beard a different color. Let's post. Yeah. That last Paris trip where it's maybe chaos. Oh, yeah. Oh, it's chaos. But still, what I do, then what I do, there's just always an empty duffel bag in there. Because I'm like, that's fine. I'll figure it out when I get there.

Oh, I always. I always carry. I carry a packable duffel bag or a packable tote bag that is just spillover so that if. If I buy something or things get too big or. Or whatever. Like, what I oftentimes do is I'll also take my tote, which packs down into, like, nothing, and I'll put it. I'll pack inside of it everything I need on the airplane, and I'LL just put it in the top of my backpack. So then everything goes up in the bins except I just take that little tote out and I'm. It's at my chair and it's done.

I'm exhausted just hearing this. I'm exhausted. I mean, I don't even be honest. The trial and error to get you to this ninja like level is a series of books. It's an encyclopedia set. Am I correct here? From A to Z. Just all the mistakes along the way, the things that you've learned.

[Jason Mantzoukas]

It's interesting. I've certainly been doing some version of this for over a decade. You know, I think easily 10 years ago, somebody gave. I think my. My mom gave me a set of Eagle Creek packing cubes. And I was like, what do I do with these? And then now it is so baked in that it really is. Because all I do now is take all of these individual pouches.

This is a Tom Bin pouch. And it opens up. The company is called Tom Bin. It opens up like this. It's got like. It's got like a mesh pocket up here and then like little elastic bands here for things. And then each little individual pocket in here has like batteries or a little roll of duct tape or a nail clipper or a, you know, a little sewing thing.

I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to lie. This is the beauty. You have pouches for all different things. Almost every single pouch has a iPhone cord. Has a tiny iPhone cord. Because no matter what pouch I get, it's going to be able to help me charge my phone. And I always. And I always carry. I always carry an external battery as I'm holding here, the Nitecore 10,000 milliamp. I can't remember what the model number of this is. This is smaller than my iPhone, right? Smaller than my iPhone, but can charge my iPhone three times fully.

And for example, this little. This little guy can go right in here, slide, boom, boom, boom. And then it's just. That's where it is. And I know the orange thing has my battery, has my. Blah, blah, blah, whatever, whatever. You know, you can use this as a passport case or any. Anything because of the size, but it's. This is invaluable, this pouch. Incredible.

So, like, for example, they've got all these zippered pouches, all these kind of different sized things. But the thing that I'm obsessed with the most that is on this page are the travel trays.

How so Here is one of the travel trays. Okay, okay. So for example, let's say I'm traveling and I'm like, I empty my. I put this on the counter in my hotel at night, and I put all my stuff, all my pocket stuff in it, right? Do, do, do, do, do. All my. I emptied my pocket knife, my whatever, and then I'm like, I'm leaving the next day. All I do is I pull this thing up, cinch it closed, and now this is a closed pouch with all of the contents of my pocket, right?

Why don't you just put it in your pocket?

Well, maybe I've got to go through airport. Maybe I've got to go through tsa. Maybe I've got to. So boom, this goes right into my backpack. Soojin, how dare you, Soojin. How dare you try and poke holes in your travel tray.

So when you're going through airport security and I'm the person behind you, you're pulling out trays and bowls and colanders. Everything just.

No, everything just is already in everything's already in there. I don't do a goddamn thing. I walk through like do, do, do, do, do. Just waiting for them to decide that they need to give me extra screening because of the color of my skin and my beard.

Really, Jason, what you're. This is a courtesy for them. Everything is so organized. It helps them be discriminatory racially profile us. That's correct.

[Jason Mantzoukas]

Exactly. Exactly. Wow. This is the big size. Oh, no, this is the big size. See, this is the little one.

For bananas. For bananas. What are you putting in that jacket?

The big one has other stuff in it. The big one has stuff in it like my asthma inhaler, stuff that I don't use as often. But then you, you know, lens wipes, you know, here's another add to cart. Here's an add to cart. Hold on.

Wait, wait, wait. Let's see, let's see. The organization system, it's completely. It's like it doesn't exist. Now, now I'm really confused.

Okay, so this is a random, this is really random. This is just nondescript cardboard box inside of it from Amazon. I purchased this box is just a box of a million different size Ziploc baggies. A million. Like a four by three, a two by two, all different size bagg.

What is it? Wait, Jason. That you bought or that you have acquired over time?

[Jason Mantzoukas]

No, it's a box. I bought a box of. I think I broke Suchin.

Hold on. I like it. Cause we set, you know, in the arc of your relationship. We've been edging you guys apart for a while now. We're together.

Yes. The frequency with which you have use for and can better organize your life by having tiny various. Whether it's some pills or like this, for example, is when I'm traveling. I put a whole bunch of like lens wipes. Lens wipes in a little Ziploc bag. So all I have to do is grab that or whatever there is. There's stuff that's organized like all like little batteries or tissues or Tylenol. Look it, here's a little Baggie of Tylenol. Come on, Jason.

I, I need to break it to you. Suchin generally puts her pills in her pocket. Like bare.

[Jason Mantzoukas]

Suchin just raw dogging her pills. Come on.

Oh, I've got. Guess what, Guess what. I've got a plastic bag organization system. I didn't have to buy this bag. This bag probably at one point held, I don't know, laundry detergent, slices of that. It had carrots in it.

Turkey.

Okay. I wash it. I dry it out upside down because I'm not an animal. And then I'm like, oh, I need a place where I can put cotton wipes. Look at that. And yes, there's some problem. And sometimes.

But my only beef is sometimes you're using.

Maybe I'll have to put, you know, some clips in there, and then I've got to put these.

Why would you want to organize clips and cotton wipes together?

Piece of other stuff. Other stuff also other stuff, yes. Because tech you always need. How often are you like, fuck where? Or are you like, fuck my. My ipod charger and so forth is at the bottom of my bag or is. So there's always an iPhone charger near. Near me whenever I love it. That's a. Like, redundancies make everything way easier.

Like, everything that goes into my backpack is put in pouches. So that there is. And it's, you know, like tech. It's toiletries. It's a tool Kit. It's a first aid kit. It's all the, all the things. But for my. For packing cubes, I use these ones that I just sent you, the peak design packing cubes. They make, you know, they also make a lot of pouches, a lot of backpacks. I happen to love their packing cubes, both because of their size and because they. It contracts down into an even smaller form factor.

So you can fit a lot into it. And they're really burly compressible and very strong compressible. Thank you. Thank you. And they're great. And so I put those in here just because they were in the picture I sent you of my suitcase because these are like how I pack all my clothes.

Because it actually you can fit. These are different than say just some cheapy old packing cubes which I have. And frankly, you don't use. I use much like this. I just have packing cubes filled with. Filled with nonsense. Because I'll go in there and I'm like, I guess I can put. I don't know what else can I fit in here? But this is interesting because what you're telling me is you can put a whole bunch of T shirts way more than you think you can because it actually compresses down.

Correct.

So this is like a dual function.

You are able to fit more as long as you. Again though, it sounds like you're a Chuck a bunch of stuff in a bag and see if you can get it shut person. You have to like fold everything and be a little bit more measured in how you put it all in. You can't just like cram it all in an old boar's head smoked turkey Ziploc bag from Gelson's.

That's my whole thing is like, if I have to go to a place, if I have to find a pharmacy to pick up face wash in England, I'm like, I've failed. This is a failure on my part.

Well, that's the whole reason for the trip. We're supposed to go to a pharmacy to get a big part of her shopping. I love a furious typing of what places are open that I can get a suitcase at 11pm because I'm leaving tomorrow on a 6am flight.

That's what you need. That's what you need your vacation to be set upon by panic that you don't have what you need.

Yes, I understand. And that. And I do get. And Tom Bin does make a pouch that is clear walls so you can see everything inside of it. For me, I tend to pack the same things in the same pouches. So each pouch has a specific use case. So, you know, I know If I need X, y, or z thing to grab exactly the blue pouch, that's a circle, or the red square or whatever. I know what each thing is. Essentially, just to combat exactly what you're describing, I don't wanna have to tear my whole suitcase apart trying to find nail clippers, you know? But I know there's a pair of nail clippers in here, so. Great. Got it. No, that's the. That's my toolkit, not my tech pouch. Even though there is an iPhone cord in it.

I mean, what do you mean by fail? You know, that's such a generous. That's such a generous word.

Well, because one of the things that I like about the pouches that I use is that they are sturdy.

It's got this little airplane travel thing that you plug into. You plug into the airplane and it allows your wireless Bluetooth headphones to get to connect to the movies on the plane.

So you don't have to use their. It's called Airfly Pro.

By a company called twelve South. You can you just plug it into the headphone jack on the behind the seat in front of you. And then your headphones connect to this thing and so you don't have to mess with any of the nonsense. So anyway, that's a good app.

Get involved. Monopoly Deal is a card game version of the board game. The very boring, tedious board game Monopoly. But it is a very fun, quick card game played in 15 minutes exactly. So each round is like 15 minutes and it's very cutthroat and competitive and it's very. You get to like really fuck people over and get to like steal their stuff. It's so fun. It's great. This has been a part of like mine and my friends lives for the last bunch of years. Actually, the last bunch of years leading up to the pandemic, not during the pandemic. I used to have a group of friends that would meet every Sunday at a wine bar at 4 o' clock to just have, have, have wine and play this game. And it was absolutely fantastic. And it's really fun. Very easy, very easy to kind of get up to speed. Very easy to figure out. And then it's just ruthless. So it's a blast. Monopoly deal. I mean, get the green pack. Get the green pack, not the blue pack.

Okay, I already added to Cart because. Yeah, because the thing with Monopoly. God, God bless board games, it's awful. No, and, and it goes on for, I mean, a game can go on. We've had games go on here for, you know, a week, you know, and you have to gently push the board down, you know what I mean? And then, or, or, you know, take a picture of the board because my son likes to cheat a little I'm not saying he's a cheater, but he likes to cheat a little. You take a picture of the board so you know how much everybody has, and you come back to it and it always ends up with somebody in tears just because of the length of it.

Yes, exactly. And that's what this exactly combats. This is also a game that can be played with two people or three people or four people. It's like it does it. You can play the game whenever, you know, you don't have to have all the nonsense and all the hotels and houses and all that. All that nonsense. So it's, it's a blast. And it's really fucking fun and really rowdy, you know, because people really can fuck each other over and it's fun.
