Hayley Rutger
This is Hayley Rutger with the Beckers Payer Podcast and we are recording live at the Becker's third annual Spring Payer Issues Roundtable. I am thrilled today to be joined by Paul Hiltz, President and CEO of NCH Naples. Paul, thank you so much for being with me today.
Paul Hiltz
Good morning. Thank you for having me.
Hayley Rutger
All right, before we kick things off, can you go ahead and introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your background and organization?
Paul Hiltz
Sure. I'm the CEO of NCH in Naples and I've been there for five years. NCH is a health system based in Naples, Florida. It's an independent non profit. We're about a billion dollars billion in net revenue and we're one of the top 50 health systems in America.
Hayley Rutger
Well, that's amazing. Now, to start our conversation off today, I'd like to talk about the imperative to reduce costs, improve quality and advance health equity. So how do you approach aligning these priorities in your organization's strategic vision?
Paul Hiltz
Well, we approach cost and quality by working on our culture. And our culture is one of a metrics driven culture where we really benchmark NCH against some of the leading health systems in America. And our team is really focused, focused on providing great value for the patients and for the payers.
Hayley Rutger
That's awesome. Now, looking ahead, what do you see as the biggest opportunity for payers to lead the charge in transforming care delivery and driving better outcomes for all stakeholders?
Paul Hiltz
I'm convinced that the future will be one where patients and payers are really going to be driven by quality. And for us, that means attracting the best and the brightest physicians and other clinicians to come to Naples to become a part of a system where patients and providers alike feel happy to be in the system and where doctors feel that they can do their best work to take care of patients.
Hayley Rutger
Well, I'd like to hear a little bit more about your organization. So is there anything else that you'd like to cover that we haven't already discussed?
Paul Hiltz
Well, there's two important things we're working on right now. One is we're opening up an orthopedic hospital this week in conjunction with the Hospital for Special Surgery, the number one orthopedic hospital in America. And, and we've recently broken ground on the Rooney Heart Institute in Naples, which we believe will be one of the top cardiac, vascular and stroke centers in the United States.
Hayley Rutger
Well, that's amazing to hear. Thank you so much for joining me today on the Beckers Payer Podcast. Again, we're recording live at the Becker's third annual Spring Payer Issues Roundtable. Paul, thank you so much for joining me.
Paul Hiltz
Thank you so much.
