This is Scott Becker with the Becker's Healthcare podcast. Today we're going to discuss about 10 stories that were following in healthcare. There's literally so much going on that we could cover 20 stories, but we're just going to cover 10 today and a lot lot going on. The first story I'll touch on is Henry Ford Health announces that they're leaning into direct to employer care. And again, as you see the healthcare system becomes so expensive and so complex, we see more and more of these efforts where people are looking at big systems, big physician groups, others looking at direct primary care, direct relationships, things that people talked about 10 years ago but never reacted on. But now as the cost out of line, we do see people moving in that direction and more and more discussion along those lines. So that's number one. Number two, another hospital bites the dust. Kind of a New Jersey hospital closes, but they keep their ER services open. So that's at least good news that they're keeping those open. Third, a story Bay State Health. Bay State Health in Massachusetts offering employee buyouts citing problems with one big beautiful act that they're going to have trouble financially that they've got to cut jobs to stay healthy. Fourth, a very similar story being reported. 89 systems cutting jobs. That's again a regularly updated list at Beckers healthcare. But again 89 systems cutting jobs. Fifth, again a sign of the times, 33 health systems dropping Medicare Advantage plans. And again, you know, as they feel like they're getting abused by payers in the Medicare Advantage market. Cutting out of that. Sixth, fantastic to interview Mount Sinai leader Dr. Steven Teitelbaum yesterday on the Beckers Healthcare podcast just now. So pleasure to deal and visit with Dr. Teitelbaum. Seventh, again a horrendous situation. One dead in the New York hospital shooting. A security guard was killed at Montefiore, St Luke's Cornwall. Just an awful situation. Again, another story that we're following. Eighth, Dr. Stephen Corwin, the long term president, New York Presbyterian, one of the great systems in the country, will be retiring this coming coming year. Dr. Corwin, NYP has excelled incredibly. He's an incredible leader, incredible service. Next, Mayo Clinic announces that they're releasing a platform for health systems. Just incredible what Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic continue to do in general and what they're doing here. Finally, the last two stories were follow. We're following 27 health systems with rating downgrades. That's an ongoing list put together by Andrew Cass at Beckers Healthcare. 28 recent systems again to go with the ads of Scotty Jobs. So lots of movement in that direction. Finally, last, a Kentucky hospital dismisses its CEO and tries to move to more an administrative model. Watching that closely and watching those kinds of moves throughout the country as people try and cut costs and cut payroll. Thank you for listening to this version of the Becker Healthcare podcast. We appreciate it so much. Thank you very, very much.
