This is Scott Becker with the Becker's Healthcare Podcast. These are seven of the stories that we're following currently. They help tell some of the very diverse stories, the very different stories and contrasting stories in healthcare today. First, University Hospitals, which is Cleveland based in one of the great research institutions and health systems in the country, turned from loss to profit this last quarter in last year and that's terrific news for University Hospitals. Second, in contrast Oracle just announced and this isn't focused necessarily on Oracle Healthcare, but that Oracle will be cutting thousands of jobs and that seems to be a regular ongoing thing at Oracle as they try and get more profitable and back in the game and spend lots of money on artificial intelligence build out. I think their stock's down 25 or 30% this year and really having a challenging time. Third, a great article in Becker's Healthcare about the return on investment of technology according to finance leaders and again the wide range of results there in terms of the returns on investment. Fourth, we have an article this week featuring 58 health system chief digital officers to know. Again this is an area in a role, the chief Digital officer that's become more and more important to health systems every place. So you see that we highlight 58 of them. That's at Becker's Healthcare. Of course there's a ton more as well. Fifth, we have a story on 26 profitable health systems in 2025 that's on an exhaustive list, that's part of the running list. But again the basic concept is mid sized and larger health systems doing, doing okay. Very small systems, remote rural systems really struggling. That's the overall tendency here that we're watching. Some big name systems were profitable last year and had a good year. Sixth, there's another article on 14 large health systems that are getting larger again. That tracks a lot of the mergers and acquisitions in healthcare. Again, a critical part of the ecosystem and health systems trying to get big enough that they could afford to take risks, that they could handle their mission well, that they can compete with the payers, that they can make themselves in a spot where it's harder for payers and patients to go around them. So that's part of the story there. Finally, seventh, the Grady Health System, a great, great, not for profit system, unveiling a new $1 billion campus and consistently trying to stay true to their mission. So a story on that, a new billion dollar campus for Grady Health System, a fantastic example of a health system that's both safety net and great and just fantastic.
