Before we dive into strategies, let's talk about why branding is so important. Your brand isn't just your logo or your website colors. It isn't just your personality or your editing style. It's the story you're telling your clients. It's how you make them feel when they interact with you. Your brand is your overall experience. And the truth is, a strong brand does more than just attract clients. It attracts the right clients. Those dream clients who value your work, love your style, and are excited to work with you. Think about a brand that you're obsessed with. Is it Lululemon, Apple, Target, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, the Dallas Cowboys, Taylor Swift? Whatever your go to brand is, you love the way it feels to be a part of that brand. You love the way it feels to walk into that store. You love the way it feels to put on that merchandise. You love the way it feels just to have the customer service or to be at a concert or to be in that game environment. So how do you create a brand like that for your photography business? Let's get into it. Strategy number one is to specialize and showcase your expertise. If you try to be everything to everyone, you end up being memorable to no one. Instead, I want you to focus on your specialty. Whether it's families, newborns, seniors or something else. Make it the core of your brand. Here's your action step. Update your website, social media and your investment guide to reflect your niche. I want you to only showcase the work that aligns with the type of client you want to attract. I do not want you to be the photographer that is available for everything under the sun. Don't do that to yourself in the beginning. Yes, I know that we do this. We do this to gain the experience and to figure out what we love and what we want our path to be. But you need to make this decision as quickly as you can because you've got to be memorable for something. This is part of creating a photography brand that people immediately think of. Let me take this one step deeper. If you want to be known for maternity and newborn, don't just showcase any session you've ever done in those categories. Only showcase the clients and the sessions that you want more of. So you want your potential clients to see these types of sessions and you want them to almost duplicate it. Do you want them to look a certain way, have a certain type of feel? I want you to choose the best of the best here. Specializing isn't just about a niche, but we will talk more about that in the master class. Strategy number two is be intentional and consistent with your content. Your content is a direct reflection of your brand. Choosing to wing social media or dare I say not show up at all is hurting you more than it's helping you. And listen, I go through seasons where I need to take a backseat to content or social media too, but I always make sure it's after I have enough leads coming into my pipeline. Here are some types of content that you can start weaving into your platforms to help you really showcase your brand. Share behind the scenes moments to show Your process, really start making those reels and those videos and the behind the scenes photo carousels. Show people what it looks like to work with you at the session. Highlight client stories to build trust and connection. One of the biggest things I want you to do for 2025 is I want you to really make your clients a part of the story. Reshare their content. Ask them to tell a story about what it was like to work with you. Get to know them on a deeper level so you have stories to tell. Any way that you can weave in your clients, the better. Share your personal life that directly relates with your target market. So for example, back to the maternity and newborn photographer. How can you showcase your life and talk about topics that relate to your ideal client? This could be showing your own kids. This could be your pregnancy journey. This could be, you know, how you volunteer for certain organizations and then offer tips that position you as an expert. Okay, lean in. I'm giving you a golden egg right here. Okay. I don't just want you to do tips and tricks and education content. That is so 2020, I guess. I want you to lean into your photography expertise. Listen to me right now. I know you struggle with feeling confident and with comparing yourself to others and comparing yourself to your own work. And you're always trying to outdo yourself. I know that about you. But I'm telling you that you are good enough right now to share your opinion, your own processes, your own thoughts with the people you want to work with. So instead of just saying a generic topic of five colors to avoid at your next session, that's generic. Instead, I want you to say, here are the five colors I absolutely do not want you to show up to your session too. Or here are the top five, three most flattering colors that my clients wear to their sessions. Okay? And here are some more examples what I recommend you wear for a family photo shoot. Or my top three tips to prepare for your studio newborn session. Or this trick works for my Insert your type of client every single time. Do you see the difference? You're inserting the words I, my opinion, my tips, my process. That is the difference. The more intentional you are, the more your dream clients will see you as the photographer for them. So don't be afraid to share your opinions and your thoughts. And strategy number three is to create an unforgettable client experience. This doesn't just mean client gifts. And this isn't just like the fancy, outward luxury looking feel. Your brand isn't just what clients see. It's how you make them feel. From the first inquiry to the final gallery delivery, every single touch point should feel seamless, professional and personal. After working with you, people should be running to their social media and their friends and family to rave about their experience with you. When you create an incredible client experience, you don't just book clients, you turn them into loyal fans who will refer you to every person that they know. How are we feeling? Are you inspired to elevate your brand and start attracting your dream clients? If you loved these strategies, I've got so much more to share in my free masterclass four steps to a fully booked calendar in 2025. Here's what we're going to cover the booking mistakes that are holding you back and how to fix them. How to build a standout brand that attracts and keeps your dream clients Proven marketing strategies to increase your leads and the systems and automations you need to scale your business and save time. The Masterclass is happening this Friday, Friday, January 17th at 11:00am Central Standard Time. That's 12:00pm Eastern Standard Time and 9:00am Pacific Standard Time. And again, it is 100% completely free. Please come hang out with me and let me pour into you. This will be the best coaching hour that you are going to have. Probably all of quarter one and quarter two. So that's it for today's episode. I hope these tips gave you clarity on how to build a brand that not only attracts clients, but keeps them coming back again and again. So excited for Friday. I can't wait to see you there again.
