In today's episode, I'm going to give you a behind the scenes into what it's like to have a coaching call inside of my fully booked blueprint program. This was one of the calls that we did in January of 2024 and I felt like this little clip was very relevant to January 2025. So I normally don't talk this much for one question on a blueprint coaching call. But again I just felt is really relevant and it's definitely for someone and.
Shayna
So I just want to give you.
Brooke Jefferson
A sneak peek into what that is like and I hope you enjoy the little sneak peek.

Shayna
It's time to jump in. Okay, Shayna, I'm going to answer your question first because it's a great teaching moment for everybody. So Shayna asked, she said, I'm wanting to create consistency and organize a weekly workflow like Mondays I do x2, Tuesdays I do why, etc. What do you recommend doing weekly, daily, bi weekly, etc to promote business growth. Okay, so I love this question because exactly like I said, it's easy to make the plans, it's easy to map out the goals. It's not easy though to actually make it happen, right? And then it's like well, how do I even make those happen? So here is the exact process that I use. I am still planning on creating an in depth course over the back end specific things. So I'm giving you a little sneak peek into maybe a module that you would find in that course today. But I know like that's a really big thing is okay, but how do I organize everything? How do I know what to work on? Because I feel like the two obvious things that photographers know they need to do is choose the session, edit the session. But then what? But then what, right? There's still so much. You know, you're, you're also head of your finance department. You're the marketer, your director of operations. Like you guys, there's so much more to business than just going to the sessions, editing and delivering, which you guys know that because that's why you're here. So, Shayna, here is some of my best tips for you. And this is for everybody. But go back and look. What are the goals that you made for yourself in 2024 for your business? That is where you're going to start. And then what I want you to do is you're going to now ask yourself, what is everything that I have to do in order to achieve that? So, Shayna, Shayna, are you on here? I think you are. I think I saw you. Yes, because you're commenting. Will you either unmute yourself or drop in the comments. What is one goal you set for yourself this year? So I can use this as an.
Example, I would say one is just being more consistent in posting on social media. That's one of my goals.
Okay, what is the result you're hoping to get from being more consistent on social media?
I would say people finding me better, maybe, or remembering in there.
So I think for you, and this is really good for y'all too look at your goals and ask yourself these questions as well. So I think for Shayna, really, what she's wanting to get out of that is she wants to be more visible. I don't think it has anything to do with social media. I think it's visibility and so that. So let's just do that. Let's pretend that her goal is a little more vague and it's get more visibility. Amazing. Okay, so then from there then we need to ask ourselves, okay, well what, how do we get more visibility? Right? So number one, where are you going to show up this year? What are your marketing platforms or strategies? And I recommend that you guys have no more than three until you're consistent with all of them or until you check them off. So I'm going to give you guys an example. Number one, you're all going to choose, I'm sure, a social media platform that is one form of your marketing. Okay, that's everybody's got one. I don't care where it is, Instagram, Facebook, Tick tock, whatever, I don't care. You're gonna have one social media platform. Number two, you guys need to have a successful, verified Google business profile. Needs to be updated, needs to have all the SEO. And you guys are in luck because we're covering this this month, okay? We're doing Google business audits in two weeks. The Other thing is it could be local. Maybe you're going to do something local. So I'll give you guys an example. I have a one on one coaching client right now and one of the things that her local community does in Florida is they do these pop up markets every Saturday and it's actually a really big deal. And so her goal is to get out and go to this physical market and then, you know, meet different people and basically get her name known more in the community, meet clients. She's going to set up like a cute little photo op thing so, so that people can take her business card, take the picture, et cetera. So I'm just giving you guys examples, but I recommend that you only start with three. If you guys go down the podcast rabbit hole, the YouTube rabbit hole, Pinterest, all the things you're going to hear, like 36 ways you can market yourself, okay? But if you can't get consistent with your top three, then you're not ever going to see growth from that. So back to Shayna, that was a long way of basically saying that. I want you to know, what are the three ways that you want to market your business and to help you get more visible? I also want you to ask yourself, where did my clients come from last year? If it was word of mouth, which as it should be for everybody, but that's actually not a marketing, like, I'm not counting that as a marketing strategy. Just so everybody's clear, that's an automatic, that should be happening anyway. However, if you're like, actually no, I have like these two or three clients that just seem to like really tell all their friends and family and bring me business, then you want to double down on that. How can you incentivize that client? Do you need to have a client referral system? Can you utilize their business or their network or whatever that may be. So I'm just giving you guys a lot of off the wall examples right now. So, Shayna, that would be the biggest thing. Now back to how do I know what to do Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, etc. Okay, so now I'll get to your actual question, but I thought that was a fun bonus side, freebie training or whatever. So, okay, so here's what you do. So now that you know, okay, I've identified all the things that I want to do in my business. Now I basically need to do one big brain dump on all the things that need to be completed. And so here's my recommendation to you guys. Just look at it for January February and March, okay, just the next three months that are in front of you because that in itself is a season. And then once April comes around, you'll notice that our schedules are going to change. The sun changes, everything changes. Right? So for January, February, March, you can get a good sense of like what your schedule might look like, how much time you have to dedicate to your business. Some of you guys work full time jobs and so you, you're throwing that around and some of you are doing this full time. So I start with the brain dump for my goals that I want to achieve. What are the things that I can realistically do in the next three months? Absolutely everything. And then what are things that I do every single week, regardless. So for me, I'll just give you an example because I literally run my life by this system. Is I, I seriously brain dumped on a piece of computer paper? I don't have it. I don't think I have it right here. But I just literally just got a pen and paper and I wrote down what are all the things that I do for my photography business? Okay, well, I know that I go to sessions every week. How many hours am I gone to sessions? How much time is that taking up? How long does it take me to upload and transfer the images after the session? How long does it take me to call to edit to deliver the gallery? Amazing. So that's there. And then what day of the week do I want to communicate with my clients? I do a lot of my communication with my clients on Mondays and Fridays. The beginning of the week because they're thinking about it, and the end of the week because they're trying to wrap everything up or they're ready to go shopping for outfits. Right. So you got to think about what days do you want to run your business on? Days. Or are you someone that wants to. And that's the next thing I look at. So for me, my kids are at school Monday through Friday. And so it gives me a good chunk of time by myself to actually sit down and get things done. For those of you that have littles at home, I've been there. I was in that season too. It was a lot harder. And so your work sprints might look like an hour in the morning, an hour during lunch or nap time, and maybe an hour or two in the evenings when your spouse returns home. Okay, so you're getting like these very, you know, separated hours. But here's the thing. If you'll start with that brain dump of everything you need to do, then I Want you to go look at, give yourself an estimated time. Well, how much time does it take me to sit down and plan out a week's worth of social media content? Does that take me an hour? Does that take me two hours? And you want to estimate how long everything takes you, then you want to group them. Okay, if you only have one hour in the morning, then go look at how long is it going to take you to do things. And I would pick like two or three things that only take you 20 to 30 minutes and shove it into that hour. And then later in the evening when you've got more time and you're not feeling rushed and you're not having to worry about kids, then you can focus on, okay, maybe I want to sit down and call and start editing a gallery in those two hours or maybe I want to do my social media content at night whenever I it's like quieter for you, you have extra help, you're not going to get interrupted. So that's how I do it. I look at my goals and then I look at what needs to be done in order to make that happen. And plus, what are all the things I have to do in my business anyway on a week to week basis? And then from there I look at how much time it takes me and then I plan every Sunday. So every Sunday I look and I say, I have X amount of hours this week to work on Monday, I have X Tuesday, I have X wins, etc, right? And then I go in and I say, what has to be done this week? What has to be done this week? And that usually starts with what gallery deadlines are due this week. And I start there. And then from there when I'm like, okay, that is literally only going to take me three hours to get that gallery turned around. Then I have four more hours to spread throughout my week. What am I going to fill those four hours with? So does that make sense? Can you all drop me a yes, please? Because I know that's everybody different, but I tried to explain that as best as I possibly could. Okay? Oh good. So we're tracking. Okay. That's literally how I do it. And for those of you that have inconsistent schedules or you work a full time job, it's the same, it's the same framework. You sit down on Sunday and you look.
I feel like part of my problem is that I don't have consistent clients yet. So like, I don't feel like I have enough to post on social media to like make it consistent, if that makes sense. So that's I'm hoping this year that I'll have more clients so I can be more consistent in posting.
Yeah, for sure. Yeah. And then the other thing that I would say about that for getting consistent on social media is I just would really encourage you to do one of two things. One, especially in January, go do some creative shoots or try and get. You don't even have to make the model calls. Like, I really want you guys to think of one or two people that you've seen in your area or a friend or a neighbor or somebody that you know would photograph really well for you building your portfolio. And I have done this every single year except this one. This is the very first January that I have not had to do a creative shoot or chose not to. I guess because I've had so many bookings in December and January that I don't have time to do a creative shoot. But I would recommend creative shoots. It always kick started my bookings and I would always do a family one every January and then I would post it and then I would get bookings from it. So that's one thing that you guys can do. And then the second thing is don't be afraid to re share more work. For most of you, you guys have around 20 to 30 images from every session that you've shot in the last six months. Use it, reshare it, show it again. I promise you, no one has seen it except you, right? No one is gonna say, oh, we already saw this image or oh, we've already seen this session. Guys, just keep resharing and use it for your content. People are like, what do they say? Goldfish? They can't freaking remember anything. You know, they, they lose their attention. Spanish guys, I don't know what I wore two days ago. How am I going to remember the picture you posted three months? You know what I mean? So let that be some fire under your rear end. Stop telling me you don't have enough content. Either go create the content or reshare the content you already have. You guys can do this. Okay? You can do this.

Host: Brooke Jefferson
Release Date: January 30, 2025
Brooke Jefferson, an accomplished Oklahoma family photographer and business coach, offers listeners an exclusive glimpse into her Fully Booked Blueprint coaching program in this insightful episode. By dissecting a real coaching call from January 2024, Brooke provides actionable strategies for photographers seeking to streamline their workflows, enhance their marketing efforts, and ultimately book more clients consistently.
In the opening moments of the episode, Brooke sets the stage by explaining the purpose of sharing a behind-the-scenes coaching call. She emphasizes the relevance of the January 2024 session to photographers navigating the challenges of early 2025, highlighting the enduring applicability of the strategies discussed.
Brooke Jefferson [00:00]: "In today's episode, I'm going to give you a behind the scenes into what it's like to have a coaching call inside of my fully booked blueprint program."
The focal point of the coaching call revolves around a listener named Shayna, who seeks advice on creating consistency and organizing a weekly workflow to promote business growth. Shayna's question centers on establishing a structured schedule to ensure steady progress in her photography business.
Shayna [00:36]: "I'm wanting to create consistency and organize a weekly workflow like Mondays I do x2, Tuesdays I do y, etc. What do you recommend doing weekly, daily, bi-weekly, etc to promote business growth?"
Brooke provides a structured, step-by-step approach to help Shayna—and by extension, all listeners—develop a sustainable workflow. Her advice is segmented into clear, actionable phases:
Brooke begins by emphasizing the importance of defining clear business goals for the year.
Brooke [02:15]: "What are the goals that you made for yourself in 2024 for your business? That is where you're going to start."
She advises photographers to break down these goals into specific tasks required to achieve them, ensuring that every action aligns with overarching business objectives.
Brooke underscores the necessity of choosing no more than three marketing strategies to maintain consistency and avoid overwhelm.
Brooke [04:50]: "I recommend that you guys have no more than three until you're consistent with all of them or until you check them off."
She elaborates on different marketing avenues, such as social media platforms, Google Business profiles, and local community events, illustrating with examples to demonstrate how each can enhance visibility and client engagement.
Brooke [07:30]: "She wants to get more visibility. So let's pretend that her goal is a little more vague and it's get more visibility."
Addressing time management, Brooke introduces the concept of a "brain dump" to list all necessary tasks, followed by time estimation and scheduling.
Brooke [09:45]: "Just look at the next three months that are in front of you because that in itself is a season."
She advocates for allocating specific time blocks for different tasks, tailored to individual schedules, whether one has full-time employment or family commitments.
Brooke [10:30]: "I go in and I say, what has to be done this week? What has to be done this week?"
Brooke shares her personal strategy of weekly planning every Sunday, prioritizing tasks based on deadlines and available time, ensuring a balanced distribution of work throughout the week.
Brooke [11:50]: "I start every Sunday and I say, I have X amount of hours this week to work on Monday, I have X Tuesday, I have X wins, etc."
Shayna raises a valid concern about maintaining consistent social media activity, especially when lacking a steady stream of clients to generate fresh content.
Shayna [12:07]: "I feel like part of my problem is that I don't have consistent clients yet. So like, I don't feel like I have enough to post on social media to be consistent."
Brooke offers practical solutions to overcome the content scarcity dilemma:
She encourages photographers to undertake creative projects or model calls to build their portfolios and generate shareable content.
Brooke [12:23]: "Go do some creative shoots or try and get... think of one or two people that you've seen in your area or a friend or a neighbor or somebody that you know would photograph really well for you building your portfolio."
Brooke advises leveraging existing images by resharing past work, highlighting that audiences often don't retain all the content they encounter.
Brooke [13:15]: "Don't be afraid to reshare more work... Just keep resharing and use it for your content. People are like, 'Goldfish? They can't freaking remember anything.'"
She emphasizes that refreshing and reposting previous sessions can sustain social media presence without the immediate need for new shoots.
Concluding the coaching call snippet, Brooke extends an invitation to listeners interested in a comprehensive roadmap to building a profitable photography business. She highlights the benefits of the Fully Booked Blueprint program, which includes detailed courses, templates, resources, and access to a community of like-minded photographers.
Brooke [14:16]: "If you're looking for your A to Z roadmap to a profitable fully booked photography business, this is where you are going to get a course where it has all of the lessons, templates, resources, etc."
Brooke emphasizes the value of continual support and accountability provided through coaching calls and community interaction, ensuring that participants can implement strategies effectively and receive timely feedback.
Brooke [14:50]: "I believe that just a course is not enough for you to implement and get the feedback that you need in your business. I know that you're going to have questions, you're going to have obstacles, and you're going to want some hand holding along the way."
