It's time to jump in. Black Friday is next week. Man, I feel like the fall season has flown by this year. I'm craving all of the delicious Thanksgiving food and I am eyeing some of the Black Friday sales. Every year on this podcast I have created a Black Friday episode giving ideas for small business owners to run. This year I wanted to change it up and tell you about some Black Friday sales you don't want to miss for your small business. And I'm going to share three tips with you on how to have a successful and profitable Black Friday sale. And they were so excited that they had made so much money on Black Friday. I've also had clients not take my advice and they did not have very good Black Friday sales and they were very, very Bummed. So here we go. My biggest tip number one is to focus on one main offer. Don't offer five different products for Black Friday. That is so confusing. It's hard for people to make a decision. I would really encourage you not to offer more than two options for Black Friday. The more focused you can be on the one main offer, the better your marketing will be. Get super clear on what it is, who it's for, and why they need to buy right now. Yes, you could offer this discount or whatever offer that you have. You could offer this anytime over the course of 12 months. But why is it so crucial right now for people to buy your offer? That's why if you have one offer, it's a lot easier to come up with the marketing and the messaging for it than if you're offering five different things. So pick one main offer. Get super clear on what it is, who it's for, and why they need to buy right now. Tip number two, make sure that your Black Friday offer is actually profitable. Okay. If it's going to give you quick cash now but results in you losing money later, it's not a good Black Friday offer. So I'm going to give you an example. In the past, because I have exclusively coached photographers, I see photographers that say 50% off, you know, any photography session that you want me to do, or 50 off a wedding package, which it just makes me. It just makes me feel some type of way. Anyway, so people pay. They give you all the money in 2024, and then when 2025 comes, they're making no profit. They're doing all the work in 2025, but they have no money that follows. Do you see what I'm saying? That's not a good Black Friday offer. I want you to think of something that is actually going to be profitable and does seem like it is a deal or a bonus for your customer. So try creating Black Friday offers that give bonuses on top of regular pricing or a slight discount that doesn't cut into your profit. We're not throwing the kitchen sink at everybody. A few of my favorite Black Friday ideas are adding in templates that go with our service or adding free gifts that, again, go with our service and don't cost us extra money. Launching something new. Great time to do this. A new service, a new product, a new way of doing things and then offering bundles. So try to come up with something for Black Friday. Also, I want to point you back to the episode that we just did. I can't remember if it was the one Right before this or the one before that, but the one that talks about 10 ways to make more money in your service based business. Go listen to that. To get an idea for what you could do for Black Friday. These episodes go hand in hand. My last and final tip for you is the shorter the sale, the better. Don't run a Black Friday offer for two weeks or even longer than one week. Bigger companies can get away with that because of their endless leads and their customer base. You can't get away with that. You probably don't have a huge nationwide customer base. People don't need more time to sit on a decision and then make a decision. Especially when it comes to a Black Friday offer. People know that there are Black Friday sales happening. People have their wallets ready. People are. Some people wait all year long to invest in their favorite, you know, service provider. They're to buy a course that they've wanted to purchase, like a big personal item, whatever that is. So again, tip number one, focus on one main offer. Tip number two, make sure your Black Friday offer is actually profitable. And number three, make your sale the shorter the better. I would even say three days. Run your Black Friday sale from Friday on actual Black Friday through Sunday at midnight. Done. Done. Gives people plenty of time to open their email and make a decision.
