Let's talk about the booking bottleneck. This is where many photographers unintentionally lose clients. Here's the hard truth. If your inquiries aren't turning in the bookings, it's not just about the clients. It's about your process. Some of the biggest mistakes I see photographers make include having unclear pricing or packages. Potential clients don't understand what they're getting or they feel overwhelmed by too many options. 2. Slow response times in today's fast paced world, people expect quick replies and if you take too long, they'll move on. Now with me saying that, keep in mind this doesn't mean that I expect you to instantly respond to somebody as soon as you get an inquiry. But what I mean is, don't let them sit There have an automation going, have something. But I will tell you the slower you are at responding or not responding at all. This happens all the time, you guys. That is what is going to again, keep people from booking you. The third thing is over complicating booking processes. This one is going to probably get you. If it's too hard to book with you, too many steps, unclear next actions, or lots of back and forth, they will drop off. You're giving them time to change their mind, pick somebody else. You're making it harder than it needs to be. And the fourth mistake that I see is coming from a place of desperation and unprofessionalism. This one I could have a whole podcast on, but I'll keep it short and sweet for you. If you are someone that you're in a place in your business where you are feeling really discouraged and you are not 100% sure that success is for you or that people want to book you or you are caught up in, in a limited mindset, people can smell that from a mile away. And that in and of itself is making people run as far away from you as they can. The other part to this is unprofessionalism. Please make sure that you are being 100% professional. One thing that I see in these photography Facebook groups are when people just have at it with a, with the bashing their clients rant. Now, I will say sometimes there are such a thing as nightmare clients and I can understand these situations, but I also see a lot of photographers that are screenshotting their conversations with people or talking about the experience or showing their galleries. And you know, I kindly want to turn a mirror around to the photographer and, and say, okay, listen, you're actually the problem in this situation. So these are the top four mistakes that I see. Again, unclear pricing and packages, slow response times over complicated booking processes, desperation and unprofessionalism. Have you made any of these mistakes? If you're nodding your head right now, don't worry, you're not alone and these are all fixable. But you have to be willing to make the changes or you will continue to see the same results. One of the biggest pushbacks I hear from you guys is that the photography industry is oversaturated. I want to remind you that it doesn't matter how many photographers it seems like there is, there is still, still room for you. And I don't say that to be cheesy or to be cliche, but I say it because a majority of the saturation that you see and you feel they're not running legitimate branded businesses. There's way more photographers out there that are winging it and they don't know what they're doing and they don't care to run a professional business. They are doing the bare minimum. I'm not trying to put anyone down. I'm just showing you the reality. And I know that's not you because you're here. You're listening to this podcast. You're saving a seat for that masterclass. You care because you have really big dreams, really big goals, especially for 2025. And so I know that you don't fit into that category. You fit into the minority that want highly profitable and impactful businesses. So if you want to stand out from that crowd of people not running legitimate branded businesses, you've got to be willing to put in the work that they aren't. This is where you create a brand for yourself and become a go to photographer in your community. If you aren't seeing the bookings that you want, it's just a sign that you have some work to do. Let's talk solutions. Here are three quick fixes to eliminate your booking bottleneck and start turning more of your inquiries into paying clients. Number one Simplify your pricing and packages. Make it super clear and easy for potential clients to get the information they need. Make it easy for them to make a decision. You don't need a handful of options to present to people to get them to work with you. The simpler the better. Number 2 Simplify your inquiry response process. Speed is key here. Have a pre written email template ready to go for inquiries or better yet, automate one. Make it warm, welcoming and give them the information that they need. For example, if you get an inquiry that comes through your email, you could have an automated response back that says something like hi client name. Thank you so much for reaching out. I'd love to be a part of your insert the type of photography session you do. Here is my investment guide and some info about working with me. I'm happy to answer any questions you have. Let me know when you're ready for the booking calendar and then you sign your name. That's it. That's all you have to do. Make it short, sweet, simple and let them know we don't have to give them a novel of information when someone inquires with you. Number three is to emphasize value over just a price. When you present your pricing, don't just list the numbers, explain the value. Don't just copy and paste your session options with just text from your notes app and then send that. You need to showcase what you have to offer. Show off your work and make it worth it. Make them see the value. What makes your session special? What do clients walk away with? Show them why your work is worth the investment. This is your number one goal when it comes to marketing. So again, I just want to hone in on this for a second. An investment guide alone or your website alone? When people are searching for a photographer, those things alone are not necessarily going to convince somebody to work with you. What you need to be working on long before they get there is your marketing. What kind of brand are you giving? And this is what we're going to be talking about in the next episode. It's another sneak peek into one of the topics that I am teaching you in that free masterclass. And this is the game changer. This is how you will land leads in your inbox that are so excited and so ready to to book with you. If these tips are already making you rethink your booking process, imagine what we could do with a full hour together in my free masterclass. Four steps to a fully booked calendar.
