Owen Cavanagh and I look at each others frozen screens as storms engulf Brisbane all the way to Noosa. We wait for about an hour and start to record.

I've passed Owens work many, many times on a quest to find a grinding cyclone right hander. The first over 20 years ago, I remember my co pilot pointing out "The Wave on the shed" and that we would be scoring so many waves like that in about 40mins...we did...and on the way home I remember looking at that wave piece thinking I truly had found my surfing Mecca.
