Guest Speaker Pastor Harvey Carey continued the Everything’s Fine series by reminding us that healing begins when we stop pretending we are okay and admit our need for God. Using steps two and three, he invited the church to move from a declaration of independence to a declaration of dependence on the God who can restore, heal, and sustain us. Through personal stories of trauma, therapy, grief, and God’s faithfulness, Pastor Harvey showed that trusting God does not mean life has been easy, but that God has never failed him. He encouraged listeners to believe that God is the spark, surrender their will to Him, and rely on His strength to keep moving forward. This message is a powerful call to stop striving in our own strength and trust the God who brings freedom, renewal, and hope.
In week one of the Everything's Fine series, Pastor Gary Thomas challenges the lies we tell ourselves about the habits, struggles, and dependencies that quietly shape our lives. Looking through the lens of Scripture and the first step toward freedom, he reminds us that lasting change doesn't begin with trying harder—it begins with admitting our need for Jesus. This message invites everyone to honestly examine the areas where they may be settling for less than God's best while discovering the hope of His transforming grace. Rather than living in denial, we can experience the freedom Christ offers when we surrender control to Him. No matter where you are in your journey, this message is an encouraging reminder that God specializes in bringing new life where we once saw only brokenness.
In this special Father’s Day message, Pastor Bronson Stewart sits down with Patrick Nix and NFL wide receiver Tez Johnson to share a powerful story of faith, perseverance, and family. Tez reflects on a difficult childhood marked by hardship and uncertainty, while Patrick shares how a simple act of obedience to God changed the course of both of their lives. Through moments of struggle, sacrifice, and unwavering support, their story reveals how God faithfully pursues people and works through ordinary acts of love to accomplish extraordinary things. More than a story about football, this conversation highlights the transformative power of faith, community, and spiritual fatherhood. It’s an inspiring reminder that God can redeem any story and use it for His greater purpose.
In the final week of the Good Shepherd series, Pastor Curt Taylor explores the powerful conclusion of Psalm 23 and the hope found in following God through every season of life. This message reminds us that God not only guides and provides for His people, but also invites them to belong at His table and rest in His presence. Even in the midst of challenges, uncertainty, and difficult circumstances, God's goodness and mercy continue to pursue us. Pastor Curt encourages us to live with an eternal perspective, trusting that our present struggles are preparing us for something greater. As the series concludes, we are reminded that our ultimate destination is not found in this world, but in dwelling with the Lord forever.
In Week 3 of the Good Shepherd series, Pastor Curt Taylor explores one of the most challenging promises in Psalm 23: that even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we are not alone. Looking at the reality of suffering, Curt reminds us that following God does not guarantee a life free from pain, but it does guarantee the presence of the Good Shepherd in every season. Through biblical insight and personal testimony, he shows how life's deepest valleys can either push us away from God or draw us closer to Him. This message offers hope to anyone facing grief, hardship, uncertainty, or loss by pointing to a Shepherd who walks beside us and comforts us. Ultimately, we are reminded that our suffering may shape part of our story, but our identity is found in Christ and His presence with us.

In the first week of the “Good Shepherd” series at Cherry Hills Community Church, Curt Taylor encouraged the church to look at Psalm 23 with fresh eyes and rediscover the depth of a passage many people know by heart. He shared how God’s desire is not just to guide His people, but to walk closely with them through every season of life. The message explored what it means to truly trust God as our Shepherd in a world filled with distractions, fear, and competing voices. Pastor Curt reminded listeners that following Jesus requires dependence, surrender, and confidence in God’s presence even when life feels uncertain. Through it all, the message pointed back to the comfort, peace, and hope found in the Good Shepherd.
During Student Takeover Weekend, student Anna delivered a powerful message about finding joy and hope even in the middle of life’s hardest trials. Drawing from passages such as James 1, Romans 5, and 2 Corinthians 4, she reminded us that suffering is not meaningless but can shape perseverance, character, and a deeper faith in God. Through Scripture, personal reflection, and thoughtful apologetics, Anna encouraged listeners to trust God even when life feels painful, uncertain, or overwhelming. She pointed to both the promises of God’s presence in suffering and the evidence of His design and faithfulness seen throughout creation and history. Ultimately, the message challenged the church to fix their eyes not on temporary struggles, but on the eternal hope and joy found in Christ.
During Student Takeover Weekend, student Allison shared a powerful message on what it means to fully surrender your life to Jesus by looking at the story of the woman at the well in John 4. Through this encounter, she showed how Jesus meets people in the middle of their brokenness, offers living water that truly satisfies, and invites them into a transformed life. Allison reminded the church that surrender is not about pretending to have it all together, but about honestly bringing our past, pain, and struggles before God and allowing Him to change us from the inside out. She also highlighted how a surrendered life naturally points others to Jesus, just as the Samaritan woman’s testimony led an entire town to seek Him for themselves. Ultimately, the message encouraged listeners to lay down whatever they are holding onto and trust that true freedom, purpose, and fulfillment are found in Christ alone.
For Student Takeover Weekend, Student Pastor Wade Smith challenged the church to step into the next generation by getting involved in the lives of students and investing in what God is doing through Student Ministry at Cherry Hills Community Church. Through personal stories, heartfelt prayers for his daughter’s future, and a powerful look at Ephesians 3:14–21, Wade reminded us that students are searching for identity, purpose, and a relationship with Jesus in a world full of confusion and pressure. He encouraged the church to move beyond simply attending and instead pray boldly, serve faithfully, and help students know God and discover who He created them to be. The message painted a compelling picture of what can happen when an entire church rallies around the next generation with love, consistency, and intentional discipleship. Student Takeover Weekend served as both a celebration of what God is already doing through students and a call for every generation to play a part in what He wants to do next.
