It's all about the “PR”, and making things appear a certain way, and you know deep down that all they care about is themselves. In today's message Pastor Ben points out that that's what was going on with the Jews who crucified Jesus. They got Him out of the way by killing Him, and then they wanted to get rid of His body so it wasn't an eyesore on their holy day. He wants you to know that it was because of God's love for you, Jesus endured the scourging, the crown of thorns, and the cross, all out of love for you. 3w agoTap to summarizeMany people feel overwhelmed by the different religions all claiming to be “the Way.” Muhammad, Confucius, Joseph Smith, Buddha, Jesus, who's right? Are they all the same? In his message today Pastor Ben points you to the only one who rose from the dead, to prove that what He said is true, Jesus. Jesus said “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father but by me.” Jesus is the only one who came back from the dead to prove that He's the only one who can save you. 3w agoTap to summarizeMon 7/20 You know back in the day kids caught stealing could sometimes work their way out of it. For example if they got caught stealing from a diner, they’d get thrown in the back and have to do dishes to pay their way. It seems pretty unlikely that that would happen today. If you do the crime, you pay the time. In his message today Pastor Ben wants you to know that there's no amount of work you can do to make up for your sins. Many people might equate the rooster crowing as a warning, or even as a confirmation of “see, I told you so I predicted that this would happen, and here we are.” But we all know that a rooster crowing signifies that it's very early in the morning, before sunrise of a new day. What hope it suddenly offered to Peter that from this moment he would have remorse about what he done, and that he would turn from his sin, and repent. 3w agoTap to summarizeIt would be like sewage and the sweetest grapevine commingling. Imagine if you had to taste those two things together, or the mix of those two smells being in the same place. In a similar way today Pastor Ben expresses how sin and blessings don't coexist. If you're choosing a wayward lifestyle, then God won't be extending His blessing in your life. If you're experiencing abundant blessings, that most likely means that there's not much willful sin in your life. Keep in mind that the sewage has no part being near the sweetest grapevine. Helping direct your attention and focus to the fact that the other 11 disciples remained faithful and resolute in their allegiance to Jesus. After His death and resurrection they went on to be pillars of the faith, and brought the good news to the nations. When you choose to follow Jesus you're His forever. It's a loving, trusting relationship between the two of them and there's a tenderness there. Just like a father-son relationship can be here on earth when it's fostered, cared for, and tended. While the Father and Son dynamic between God and Jesus is special. The fact that you and I get to be included in that love, and in that family, is a treasure to consider.
