You'Re listening to DC High Volume Batman. There's a serial killer on the loose in Gotham City. Striking only on holidays, Christmas is drawing near as fear spread. With no leads in sight as to the identity of this Holiday killer. As the bodies pile up, so do the questions like what part does the Joker play in the mayhem? Just ask the family. Bound and gagged while a mad clown reads the papers. And now, the long Halloween. Chapter 3.
Batman
Christmas Eve in Gotham City. A serial killer the newspapers have dubbed Holiday is on the loose. He or she has struck on Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays. And tomorrow is Christmas. This fact hasn't escaped notice of the Joker.
Joker
Holiday Killer stocks Gotham. Who is Holiday? Who is Holiday? Happy Holidays. Happy Holidays. Living in a snowy wonder place. I hate that song.
Batman
Joker will seize every opportunity to take his anger out on the innocent, such as this family attempting to celebrate the holiday.
Joker
Then he slithered and slunk with a smile most unpleasant around the whole room and took every present. The one speck of food that he left in the house was a crumb that was even too small for a mouse to the top of the porch to the top of the wall. Now dash away. Dash away. Dash away.
Batman
Arkham Asylum.
Harvey Dent
The Joker's escaped again. Attacked some family. Took all their Christmas presents. For God's sake.
Batman
I know.
Harvey Dent
You do?
Joker
How?
Harvey Dent
We just heard him. Never mind. So many here in Arkham. Nearly double from when you first appeared. Not that there's a direct correlation. Do you give it any thought?
Batman
No.
Narrator
Huh.
Batman
I know what Gordon is implying. That my presence somehow attracts these men and women to my city. Jim Gordon is a good man. He and the police do the best they can with limited resources. But Gotham City needs Batman to protect her from criminals such as Julian Day, the calendar man.
Calendar Man
30 days, half September, April, June and November.
Harvey Dent
I've spoken to the district attorney's office, Julian, and they're willing to commute your sentence to time served if you'll help us with these murders. Our feeling is, with your interest in committing crime to coincide with dates on the calendar, you might have some insight.
Calendar Man
Tomorrow is the big day. She'll be killing again.
Batman
What makes you think it's a woman?
Calendar Man
Because he likes it. The attention. No one knows who she is. And already he has made a name for himself. Or herself. You've been lucky so far in February, Lincoln's birthday, Washington's birthday and President's Day.
Harvey Dent
February. Surely we'll have got the killer by then.
Calendar Man
Groundhog Day, Ash Wednesday, Secretary's Day, Earth Day, Flag Day, Boxing Day, Hanukkah.
Batman
Let's after hours in Sal Maroni's restaurant.
Carmine Falcone
It's Dent. It has to be Harvey Dent. Okay? I want somebody, Toots, and I mean somebody good, planted in that DA's office watching them day and night.
Joker
Already on it, Mr. Maroney. I got a. Got a kid named Vernon.
Carmine Falcone
Toots, what are you doing? What the frick is so freaking funny? Here. Oh, Toots. Hey, Toots.
Joker
Care for some more wine? Mr. Maroney, a clown.
Carmine Falcone
A clown? No clown. Comes into my place and threatens me.
Joker
Nice gun. Mine's bigger. Oh, look at that. Almost as big as your head, Maroni. Or should I say Holiday?
Carmine Falcone
Holiday? Me?
Joker
Sure. You're the number two man in this burg, Carmine. The Roman Falconi is numero uno. Holiday only whacks the Roman's men, so you've got the most to gain.
Carmine Falcone
Wait, wait. I swear on my mother's grave, at the end of the day, it's about business. And this whole Holiday thing is screwing up business for. For everyone.
Joker
Then who is Holiday?

Batman
In the alley behind Maroney's restaurant, two of his men haul a dead.
Carmine Falcone
Hey, man, Tors been putting on weight.
Joker
All the better to sink them with.
Batman
Going somewhere?
Carmine Falcone
Let me. Curly angel, where are you?
Batman
Mooks. Maroney.
Carmine Falcone
Oh, enough of this already. Oh.
Batman
You'Re a smart man. That was not a very bright move. What went on here tonight?
Carmine Falcone
Some guy calls himself the Joker. Came looking for Holiday.
Batman
Why? What's his connection to Holiday?
Carmine Falcone
How should I know? He's a lunatic, like you. This whole town is full of lunatics. Ever since you came here. Lunatics.
Batman
Across town. Harvey Dent has a surprise for his wife. Gilda.
Gilda Dent
Harvey, can I look now?
Harvey Dent's Voice
Merry Christmas, Gilda.
Gilda Dent
Oh, Harvey.
Joker
A new house.
Harvey Dent's Voice
Whoa, slow down, honey. The doctors want you to take it easy. You really shouldn't be out of that chair.
Gilda Dent
Doctors? What do they know? Oh, Harv. Can we really afford it?
Harvey Dent's Voice
No. So I'll just have to work twice as hard.
Joker
Harvey, what are you doing?
Harvey Dent's Voice
Carrying you. Welcome home, Mrs. Dent.
Gilda Dent
Harvey.
Joker
Oh.
Gilda Dent
Do you think starting over in a new house, maybe we could try again to have children?
Harvey Dent's Voice
Second chance. We'll see.
Gilda Dent
Harvey, is something wrong?
Harvey Dent's Voice
Gilda, why don't you have a look around upstairs?
Gilda Dent
All right. Be right back.
Harvey Dent's Voice
Take your time. I know you're there. Show yourself.
Joker
My sweet little tot. There's a light on this tree that won't light on the. Get out. Oh, you're good, Dent. But you're no Batman. The question is, what sort of a man are you? This town isn't big enough for two homicidal maniacs. And if I find out that the buzz is true, that Harvey Dent is Holiday, I'm not going to be as forgiving the next time.
Carmine Falcone
Get out of my.
Joker
Harvey.
Podcast Host
Oh, Harvey.
Carmine Falcone
Oh, okay.
Batman
The Roman's penthouse.
Joker
Carmine. Bong, bong, bong. Who's that? Wakey, wakey, Carmine Falcone. You find this Holiday or I'll kill everyone in Gotham City until I find him.
Batman
Outside.
Joker
He spoke not a word, but went straight to work and filled all the stockings. Then turned with a.
Carmine Falcone
Hey, you jerk.
Joker
Laying a finger aside of his nose and giving a nod. Up the chimney he rose.
Carmine Falcone
Crazy clown. Damn cards. Wait, wait. Who are you?
Batman
Milos, the Roman's personal bodyguard, dies on Christmas Day. Holiday has another victim. A snow globe with a snowman inside placed next to the body and playing cards. That could only mean. Have a Merry Christmas, Joker. It will be your last.

In Chapter 3 of DC High Volume: Batman's adaptation of The Long Halloween, the dark and gritty streets of Gotham City become even more treacherous as the elusive Holiday killer continues their spree. This episode delves deeper into the intricate web of crime, deceit, and personal turmoil that defines Gotham, highlighting Batman's relentless pursuit of justice amidst rising threats.
The episode opens with a chilling reminder of the Holiday killer's modus operandi—striking on significant holidays and leaving the city in fear as Christmas approaches.
The ominous presence of the Joker is felt as he taunts the investigation and mocks the notion of peace in Gotham.
His interference exacerbates the already tense atmosphere, targeting innocent families and undermining the city's fragile attempts at normalcy.
Inside Arkham Asylum, Harvey Dent discusses the Joker's recent activities with Batman, hinting at a connection between Dent and the escalation of crimes.
Batman reflects on Jim Gordon's observations about his impact on Gotham:
Batman and Dent seek insight from Julian Day, aka Calendar Man, hoping his pattern-based crimes can shed light on the Holiday killer.
His responses hint at the possibility of a female perpetrator, adding complexity to the investigation.
In a pivotal scene at Sal Maroni's restaurant, Carmine Falcone confronts the Joker, suspecting Harvey Dent might be the Holiday killer.
The Joker mocks Falcone's suspicions, escalating the tension between Gotham's criminal underworld and its defenders.
Amidst the chaos, Harvey Dent grapples with personal challenges at home, revealing his vulnerabilities and the strain on his marriage to Gilda Dent.
Their intimate moments are interrupted by the Joker, who threatens to expose Dent as the Holiday killer, questioning Dent's moral compass and loyalty.
The conflict culminates in the Joker's direct confrontation with Carmine Falcone, where his threats become imminent as he seeks to uncover the identity of Holiday.
The tension reaches a peak with the death of Milos, Falcone's personal bodyguard, marking another grim milestone in the Holiday killer's spree.

Struggles to maintain his grip on Gotham's underworld amidst external threats and internal betrayals.
