You're listening to DC High Volume Batman for months, the Holiday killer has made fools of cop and criminal alike. Now April Fool's Day is here and enough is enough. In the caves beneath Wayne Manor, the world's greatest detective works to crack the case. Elsewhere in Gotham City, crime lord Carmine the Roman Falcone and his daughter Sophia seek answers of their own to this riddle. But are they asking the right questions? And now, the long Halloween Chapter 7.
Batman
April Fool's Day. For half a year, a serial killer known as Holiday has been at large. Carmine the Roman Falcone is at his office entertaining an audience with Edward Nygma, also known as the Riddler. He seeks to unravel this mystery.
Riddler
Riddle me this whole is.
Batman
Holiday. Meanwhile, at the cave, I prepare my own examination of the case.
Riddler
It's a mystery broken into a jigsaw puzzle wrapped in a conundrum hidden inside a Chinese boy.
Batman
Clues are left at every murder scene. These objects, easily obtained at any five and dime store, were selected to represent the dates of the killings. A pumpkin on Halloween. A horn of plenty on Thanksgiving. Snow globe for Christmas. Champagne glass. New Year's Eve. Box of chocolates on Valentine's Day. Toy Leprechaun. And St. Patrick's Day. Holidays like today. April Fool's Day. Always.22 caliber pistol with a wrapped handle. Who is Holiday? A killer.
Riddler
Question. Why does Holiday always use the same same type of weapon, only to leave them behind at the scene of each murder? Answer, he gets them wholesale. Or let's be more practical.22 caliber pistols are lightweight, easy on the hand, perfect for a woman. Perhaps a cat woman. With the break in last June.
Batman
She.
Riddler
Had access to your safe, Mr. Falcone.
Narrator
All mine.
Riddler
And therefore, the names of everyone in the Roman Empire.
Batman
To the Roman.
Riddler
To the Roman.
Carmine Falcone
Them cards. Wait.
Riddler
Add to that the million dollar bounty you subsequently put on her head. Suddenly her best defense is a good offense.
Batman
Hey, who is it? Behind the door.
Narrator
Behind the.
Batman
Maroney. From the outset, the killings have always favored Sal the boss Maroney.
Riddler
Someone there.
Batman
The Roman's chief rival for control of Gotham City. He weakens. The Falcone family lumatics growing bolder with each murder. Hey, who else on New Year's Eve would shoot Falcone's own son in the back?
Carmine Falcone
I warned you.
Riddler
Falcone. Question. Why does the killer shoot Alberto Falcone anyway? Answer. Because he can.
Carmine Falcone
Excuse me.
Riddler
I only meant that Alberto wasn't in the family business raising the issue. Are all these killings somehow personal? Carla Viti, your sister, her son, Johnny Viti was supposed to testify against you to the grand jury. It's no secret how you tried to get a knife slid between your nephew's ribs. Did Carla Viti do the unthinkable? Did the mother kill her only son just to hide her identity?
Batman
Johnny.
Riddler
Now her own guilt masks her rage. She's free to attack anyone since no one will suspect her.
Batman
Marta.
Riddler
She was there on New Year's Eve. Who else could have approached Alberto without him reacting?
Narrator
Wow.
Batman
Hilarious. Hey, Alberto.
Riddler
At this point, it is little more than a son for a son. And moments later, she runs back to the scene in distress. Alberto covering her tracks.

Calendar Man
If I may, sir. In all your theorizing, there is one person you have overlooked entirely.
Batman
Julian Day. The Calendar Man. But according to Arkham Asylum's records, which could be altered, I suppose. The Calendar man remains in their custody.
Calendar Man
It was not he to whom I was referring. I might only point out that in one's quest for justice, I have seen someone even as sane as yourself behave in the most surprising ways.
Harvey Dent
Two shots to the head. You ask me. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. See you, Johnny. I'm for letting them walk. We put the word on the street that they cut a deal. And see how the Roman reacts. Happy Thanksgiving.
Narrator
Harv. Your hair's all wet.
Harvey Dent
It's been snowing. Sorry, Alberto.
Batman
Captain Gordon told me how Harvey showed up late on New Year's Eve. On Christmas. He could have followed the Joker from his home and killed Milos, the Roman's bodyguard. He left Wing Manor on Valentine's Day with plenty of time to confront Baroni's men at the restaurant.
Calendar Man
What will you do now, sir?
Batman
Pray I'm wrong. Harvey Dent. In Harvey Dent's office. The District Attorney has his own prime suspect.
Harvey Dent
Bruce Wayne.
Batman
You're sure you want to go ahead with this?
Harvey Dent
Resting one of Gotham's most prominent citizens?
Riddler
No.
Harvey Dent
But if Bruce Wayne is helping the Romans empire, he deserves everything that's coming to him.
Carmine Falcone
Mr. Nygma. I was told there was no riddle you could not solve. And yet you've only put together one guess after another. With no more certainty of one than any other.
Riddler
Mr. Falcone.
Carmine Falcone
Sophia.
Batman
Yes, Papa.
Riddler
Oh, wait. Wait. My hat. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh, my head.
Carmine Falcone
If your life depended on it. And it does. Tell me, who is Holiday?
Riddler
Carmine Falcone.
Carmine Falcone
Me.
Narrator
You.
Carmine Falcone
Sophia, take Mr. Nygma out the side exit.
Batman
Yes, Papa.
Carmine Falcone
And Sophia, come right back.
Batman
Yes, Papa.
Riddler
Wait. Wait, wait, Wait. I am the Riddle.
Batman
They let the Riddler go.
Riddler
Who's there?
Batman
No.
Riddler
No.
Batman
No. As the cordite dissolves into the air, the Riddler is left with one last question.
Riddler
Riddle me this. When does a killer not kill?

DC High Volume: Batman – Episode Summary: "Batman: The Long Halloween - Chapter 7"
Release Date: June 4, 2025
In the seventh chapter of the "Batman: The Long Halloween" adaptation, DC High Volume: Batman delves deeper into the intricate web of Gotham City's crime underbelly. As the serial killer known as Holiday continues his relentless spree, Batman, alongside his allies, faces escalating challenges that test their resolve and detective skills. This episode masterfully intertwines tension, mystery, and character development, staying true to the essence of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's acclaimed comic series.
The episode opens with Batman grappling with the Holiday killer's latest move on April Fool's Day, marking six months since Holiday's reign of terror began. The killer meticulously leaves symbols representing various holidays at each crime scene, a pattern that has both baffled and captivated the city's authorities.
Carmine "The Roman" Falcone, a prominent crime lord, collaborates with Edward Nygma, better known as The Riddler, in an attempt to decode the killer's motives. Their interaction sets the stage for a cerebral game of wits as they seek to unravel the mystery behind Holiday's actions.
As Batman scrutinizes the clues, he identifies a disturbing pattern: each murder aligns with a specific holiday, using easily accessible objects as symbols. This leads him to theorize about the killer's identity and motivations, probing deeper into the personal connections and vendettas that may be driving these heinous acts.
Amidst the chaos, tension mounts within Gotham's power structure. Carmine Falcone faces betrayal and suspicion as his influence is challenged, leading to internal strife and unforeseen consequences. The involvement of Harvey Dent, Gotham's District Attorney, introduces another layer of complexity, as his loyalty and judgment come into question.
The plot thickens with the introduction of Calendar Man, who hints at overlooked details in Batman's investigation, suggesting that the true mastermind may be closer than anticipated. This revelation propels Batman into a race against time to prevent further atrocities and unmask Holiday before the city descends into complete disorder.
Batman (Jason Spizak): Batman remains the steadfast detective, meticulously piecing together the puzzle Holiday has laid out. His interactions with Carmine Falcone and The Riddler showcase his tactical acumen and unwavering commitment to justice. A pivotal moment occurs when Batman confronts Falcone, leading to a critical revelation:
Batman [03:28]: "Clues are left at every murder scene... Always. 22 caliber pistol with a wrapped handle. Who is Holiday?"
The Riddler (Jeph Loeb): Portrayed by a cunning and articulate voice, The Riddler engages in a verbal duel with Falcone, attempting to manipulate information to his advantage. His riddles and cryptic insights add layers to the unfolding mystery.
Riddler [03:19]: "Holiday. Meanwhile, in the cave, I prepare my own examination of the case."
Carmine Falcone (Mike Starr): Falcone's character is depicted grappling with betrayal and the crumbling of his empire. His interactions with The Riddler reveal vulnerabilities and the cracks within his façade of power.
Carmine Falcone [07:07]: "Excuse me."
Harvey Dent (Adam O'Byrne): Dent's character is embroiled in suspicion, especially concerning his actions during critical moments. His confrontation with Batman underscores the strained trust between them.
Harvey Dent [11:24]: "Bruce Wayne. You're sure you want to go ahead with this?"
Calendar Man (Simon Vance): Serving as a catalyst for Batman's deeper investigation, Calendar Man subtly points out the overlooked aspects of the case, hinting at larger conspiracies at play.
Calendar Man [09:38]: "If I may, sir. In all your theorizing, there is one person you have overlooked entirely."
The Psychology of a Killer: Holiday's methodical selection of holidays as motifs for his murders suggests a personal vendetta or a deeper psychological motive, prompting both Batman and the audience to ponder the motivations behind such calculated brutality.
Power and Betrayal: Carmine Falcone's struggles highlight the fragility of power structures within Gotham. The internal betrayals and challenges to his authority reflect the broader theme of corruption and instability in the city's underworld.
Trust and Doubt: The strained relationship between Batman and Harvey Dent introduces themes of trust and doubt. As secrets unravel, alliances are tested, and the line between heroism and vigilantism blurs.
Mystery and Revelation: The interplay between Batman, The Riddler, and Calendar Man emphasizes the centrality of mystery and the gradual revelation of truth. Each character's interaction serves as a piece of the larger puzzle that Batman must solve.
Batman [03:28]: "Clues are left at every murder scene... Always. 22 caliber pistol with a wrapped handle. Who is Holiday?"
Riddler [03:19]: "Holiday. Meanwhile, in the cave, I prepare my own examination of the case."
