Host 2 (Weezy)
Okay, we're both gonna sing.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I'm gonna sing Believe by Cher. Cause that's the word.
Host 2 (Weezy)

Host 1 (Mandy B)
We can't hit those notes.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I know that's.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
That's not in my baritone or octane or whatever the fuck. Okay, go ahead.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Okay, wait. I put your picture on my mirror, right?
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Uh huh. Go ahead.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Okay, you gotta do it at the same time. Ready?
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Go ahead. No, no, no. We gotta do separately so they can hear our isolated vocal.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I can't sing alone.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
No, she got the lyrics up there.
Ryan Reynolds
Go ahead.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
You sing first. Uh huh. Uh huh.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Oh, my God. In my stomach there's a pain every. That's.
Host 1 (Mandy B)

Host 2 (Weezy)
I've got gut issues.
Host 1 (Mandy B)

Host 2 (Weezy)
Start to flush when somebody says your name in my stomach there's a pain Ooh See you walk in my direction I go the. I start to stutter when I speak Start to stand by my knees go weak what's happening to me in the dark? Can you tell me what it means?
Host 1 (Mandy B)

Host 2 (Weezy)
Started staring out the window which For a star for a sign what's the reason why I feel like Lexi?
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Okay, girl. Oh, my God. Okay. You know, my voice is deeper.
Host 2 (Weezy)
It doesn't matter, bitch.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
So I'm gonna sing it a little lower. Like I would give you that story. I put you a picture.
Host 2 (Weezy)
No, no, no, no, no.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Hold on. Since you can say that. Blush. When somebody says your name in my stomach that you carry like, so I look the other direction Look, I can't even read. See, you walk in my direction I go the other way I start to stutter when I speak Start to stand by my knees go wee what's happening to me? Can you tell me what it means? Fuck you, bitch. I lay my head on my pillow Staring out the Staring out the window Wish on a stop for a sign that's the reason why, bitch. Let's go, let's go. We gotta give these bitches advice. You couldn't.
Host 2 (Weezy)
You didn't Laugh.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
What she say? And bitch, don't make me cry. This lash glue is not gonna stick.
Host 2 (Weezy)
She smoked it.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Bitch, what do you Smoked it.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Is she right?
Host 1 (Mandy B)
First off, I just woke up. I'm not even done with my coffee. No, we can't cry. We cannot cry. Oh my God, my lash be laughing because, bro, she's crying.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I didn't think I was going to be that much better, but I was really just around cuz.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I was like all my voices D.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I thought you were going to be louder, but when you really started trying, it got funnier.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Bitch, I'm T. Bozo, yo.
Host 2 (Weezy)
We would not make it through.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
You should have let me sing tlc. So I agree.
Host 2 (Weezy)
No, bitch, now we don't have other options.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Okay, fine. All right, the question for this one. Is this nigga weird or is it just me? Odds are, bitch, it's you. If you want to send us a letter to get our unsolicited, non doctorial, non credentialed advice, please. Non credentialed, non credentialed. Just credentials is life experience over here, babe. Email us decisionspodmail.com or if you are on Patreon, drop us a message. All right, so is this nigga weird or is it just me? Wheezies? Just with that question alone, who do you think? Who's gonna be guilty here? The nigga or her?
Host 2 (Weezy)
Actually, I think it's gonna be the nigga, but that's just because she's 31.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Does that help?
Host 2 (Weezy)
Well, maybe it's her.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I think it's her. I ain't read it yet, but we
Host 2 (Weezy)
don't know you want it to be heard. Cause you're mad at bitches right now.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
No, I'm not. I just think bitches know when they weird. And I bet you she on some weird shit.
Laila
Oh, God.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Mind you, she already led in the question. She already has excuses. That's very woman like. Her title is, is this nigga weird or is it just me? Pregnant and horny.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Ha ha.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
She got the LOL face, bro. Bitch, you know it's you now. Talk about pregnant and horny. All right. Hi, Mandy and weezy. Okay, I'm 31 and pregnant with my first baby due this month. I've been with my boyfriend for three years now and we have a pretty good relationship from the jump. Sex has been a little vanilla for me. When we first met, I was leaving from a long distance situationship. So when we met up, the sex was always crazy. So coming from that to this took some getting used. He did however, introduce me to toys.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Oh, boy.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Which made the sex way better. We've always been good with communicating when either one of us wanted sex and it would usually happen. However, since finding out I was pregnant, our sex life is non existent. Wow, that's probably only. That's so juicy. Listen, we probably only had sex three times and it was always weird and fast. I even offered to just give him head or just toys he wants and he wants no parts. Just the other day he finally said to me that sex is something you just don't do while pregnant. He said his friends and cousins told him they never touched their baby mama the entire time. Like, what the fuck? Pregnancy pussy is the best. How do you know, sis? So my question is, are these N s weird as fuck? Is this common in the black community or do I need to relax? He still shows affection, just not what I want. Sincerely, horny pregnant girl, take it back.
Host 2 (Weezy)
These niggas weird as fuck.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
You know what's crazy? Because I've never, you know, had a pregnancy pussy. I can't speak to it. I will say I know n that don't want to fuck because they think they dick is poking the baby.
Host 2 (Weezy)
It's not that big, hun.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I mean, it's not even close.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Here's the thing though. I think that makes it weird as fuck. I have friends that have gone through not even to make it dark. Hysterectomies, mastectomies, weight gain, a bypass surgery, whatever could make them feel like, damn, there's an obstacle that's keeping me from feeling sexy. Number one, pregnancy is something that you're both experiencing together for an amazing thing to come in your life. And now you've got to make that person feel as though they're not worthy enough to be a sexual being. And I think that's actually the most fucked up part.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I mean, to me, what's also fucked up is that the dick ain't even that good. So, I mean, what if he goes out there and gives somebody else bad dick and now people know your baby daddy got bad dick? That would be. That would be crazy. But also, let's get into the health risk because I wanted to pull it up with pregnancies, with having sex during pregnancy.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Now, Mandy, if you read this shit out, you really might be for the niggas.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Now, wait, no, this is just. I'm just providing context.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Go ahead, bitch.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Many men do continue to enjoy sex with their pregnant partners, but some become less interested or hesitant during pregnancy. Usually this is emotional or psychological. In this case, it does seem a little psychological because his homies and family members have already made it seem like it's a normal thing to not do. First off, now, few common reasons. Sometimes they fear hurting the baby. This is probably the most common concern. Some men worry penetration or orgasm could harm. Um, they also start to view their partners differently when they're pregnant. Pregnancy can shift how someone emotionally perceives their partner. So from a sexual partner to a mother, which sucks for you. Um, also anxiety about the pregnancy. So they could be worried about miscarriage, complications, becoming a parent, financial and of course, changes in the body or attraction. Now, they do say that it doesn't harm the baby. However, doctors may recommend avoiding sex in certain situations if there's like risk of preterm labor, unexplained vaginal bleeding, leaking, and all the things.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Now I'm gonna do the opposite.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
She said that she's due this month,
Host 2 (Weezy)
so I'm gonna look up health benefits of sex during pregnancy.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Wait, due the last month? In the last month. Cause she said she do this month term. Well, she's explaining a little too late for that now, bitch. The baby by here physical and emotional
Host 2 (Weezy)
well being because of the oxyt releases, easing late term aches, including sleep. It says natural labor prep, but we've all heard this. You should have sex because it makes the baby come out. Orgasm triggered mild uterine contractions and the orgasms while helping those contractions. Semen naturally contains prostaglandins which help ripen your cervix and prepare the body for labor stress and pain relief. Pelvic floor straightening, specifically during the final term. Strong muscles lead to easier delivery and obviously emotional connection. Sex safest sex for most uncomplicated pregnancies right up until the water breaking. Although a myth, it is sometimes possible that sex can lead the water to break because the cervix can open.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Now I'm wondering.
Host 2 (Weezy)
So that's great.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I'm wondering what she's missing because she said he's still showing up affectionately.
Host 2 (Weezy)
This one's huge. The biggest benefit to having sex during pregnancy, it can reduce your preeclampsia risk and it literally can help support the healthier development of the baby. Bitch, you better fuck.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Or I was gonna say, like, get a dildo, order one and have that nigga like, fuck you. But I mean like with the dildo. I love being fucked with a dildo. Like, I love it like, oh my God. Y' all know I got, I got an alien tentac. I got a Tyrannosaurus rex. I got King Noir. I got a purple one. I got four different dildos. And I just be like, fuck me with it. And so if he not gonna use his dick, girl, buy one and have him put it in you while you pregnant. Why you. No. Are you real? I love my dildos. I love em like I love it.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Damn. Wish you had that fucking tune when you. Let's just add this to the other.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
What?
Host 2 (Weezy)
Okay, here's what I'm thinking. It's not about the sex, right? It's not about the dildo. It's not about the penetration. It's literally probably the fact that her nigga won't even touch her. And she's realizing he's now blaming it on his other friends. So now you're like, oh my God. So now they're just sitting there talking about it. I actually think it's a bit disrespectful
Host 1 (Mandy B)
because had it been disrespectful, she should have wrote us five months ago, bitch. She bout nine, ten months now. Bitch, you about to get dick once the baby come out. Did you Hear Mandy say 10? So it is apparently 10 months. Bro, you know you're not pregnant for none. I've read it on the Internet. It's really 10 months. That's why. Don't look at me like that. I'm about to. Is it? Let me ask my husband, Dr. Cheyenne Bryant. Shut up. Isn't. I'm about to look, isn't pregnancy really 10 months? The nine months? I don't know, maybe it sounds cooler, but it's really based on the weeks and it be 10 months.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I know, I've seen that. You can be over where you have to get your labor induced. Wait, I wonder.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Look, you ready? Oh, bitch, what'd I tell you? Pregnancy. This is how two bitches talk about being pregnant. Who ain't been pregnant? Well, who ain't keep the pregnancy. Pregnancy is commonly called what you know it's gonna be.
Host 2 (Weezy)
That's crazy. Who didn't keep it? I feel like when I'm pregnant, I'm gonna make more abortion jokes. I'd be like, no, see that? No, you the third.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Don't do that. So pregnancy is. Is commonly called nine months, quote unquote. But biologically and medically, it's closer to about 10 lunar months or about 40 weeks. Thank you. What is lunar months?
Host 2 (Weezy)
Yeah, bitch.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Oh, that's because most. Because it's 28 days. So they only call it nine months. Cause there's a couple months with like 30, 31 days.
Host 2 (Weezy)
You gotta be pregnant for a year, bro.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
10 months, four week, lunar month. Yeah, 10 months, bitch. Nine months. Nine months calendar. 10 months lunar.
Host 2 (Weezy)
So I don't know if I've ever told y' all this, but, I mean, you know, you've been around him. My niggas got a little hotep in him, right? As far as, like, wanting to make things, he's really into numerology, okay? There was a day I thought he was gonna propose to me, and he's like, first of all, I would never do this date. This is the number of loneliness and singledom. Why would I do that? And, like, no, I would do family, love, connection. Like, those are the numbers, right? And I was like, yo, and this was months ago.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
And I was like, damn, he really
Host 2 (Weezy)
got that in his head. So when we talk about pregnancy, I'm like, hey, I want my baby to be born around the summertime. I need it.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
It can't be the way. You can't be planning that, bro.
Host 2 (Weezy)
But I know I'm fertile ho, and I be doing a lot of cream pies. So I be like, listen, I need the summertime because I just really feel in my body that I'm prone to depression. And I know what I need. I know myself very well. I wanna be able to go on walks. I can't do this winter bullshit. And he was like, yo, the Gemini flip floppy. Da da da.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
So, bro, just get a treadmill.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I say all that to say walk on a treadmill. When we started to, like, plan, like, dates and shit and, like, what we would do, I was like, God, this is 10 months. I literally said that.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Yeah, I told you it's 10 months.
Host 2 (Weezy)
It's like, really a year.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
It's a whole year.
Host 2 (Weezy)
There's no time off.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
No, none. You just gonna have a belly. A belly growing.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Also went to have a bite with, like, a colleague who's pregnant, and she had a mocktail when we were at Tiger. And I was like, why are you even doing this? You just need the taste, bitch.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Yes, she just type a cranberry distance. Shut the fuck.
Host 2 (Weezy)
But also, is that gonna be me?
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I will say I feel like. I feel like we both date hotep niggas. Like, boyfriend number one just made me beef tallow, shea butter. And then the other one I was writing last night, I was like. I asked him if he had the Neo robot. I didn't know he had.
Host 2 (Weezy)
What is that bitch?
Host 1 (Mandy B)
The robot that looked like a person that does your laundry and dishes in the house. I want one. And so I asked him if he got one 20,000 light work for him. So I said, you got one, bitch. I found out he's anti robot. He doesn't have Alexa Siri. He's like, oh, I don't fuck with robots.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I said, my nigga won't use Apple Pay, bro.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I said, I'm ready for the robots. I said, I'm gonna deal with these robots till the aliens come. But, nigga, you don't do robots. And I was so like, damn. I thought we would connect on that because he's young.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I thought you wearing the cross earrings also gives hotep sister look at your rings.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I'm not doing this. I'm not doing this.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Actually, Mindy, I think the next phase of your life. Okay, well, y', all, can you see this? I feel like if we turned into different bitches in 20 years, you would be closer than that.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
You think I would be closer to a hotep or. Jesus Christ.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I think you'd be closer to a hotep.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
No, I think, actually, I do believe I'm into believing a little bit of flat earth. A little bit of.
Host 2 (Weezy)
A little bit of you on the side of the road like this.
Rach
Oh, never.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Excuse me. Let me just. Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me. How do you know that your phone isn't speaking back to you and listening to you at night? And guess what you see?
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Oh, no, it is listening to, like, best believe. It's listening.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Yo, let me tell you something that my friend's wife did who is working on her green card. And they're not a fake marriage, by the way. Some of you may already know who it is, but long story short, we are talking shit about Trump in my house. And she starts to get quiet, and I'm like, bitch, don't tell me you voted for this nigga.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
She's like, they're listening. They take your phone, and it works.
Host 2 (Weezy)
And I was laughing, and he's like, no, no, no, she's right. And I'm like, what? And she's like, yo, they like, take your phone once you go in there, and they're like, checking your phone.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Girl, you late. You ain't seen the Alexa. This nigga was cussing him out, like, how the fuck you knew I was in med school? I ain't never told you that. And she said, I'm so sorry that Alexa was apologizing because she knew something about him that he never told her. Yeah, it was crazy.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Well, I hope you enjoyed this. Ygd. Um, here. Oh, here. Let's give quick advice. All I want to tell you, girl
Host 1 (Mandy B)
fuck a dildo, girl.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Uh, no, I think. Tell him that you think he's being immature and the baby about to come.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Don't start an argument, bitch. You need that nigga there.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Okay.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Yeah.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I hope this helped. I hope you laughed. Baby. When I see you I think when I see you, baby When I keep
Host 1 (Mandy B)
going I lay my head on the mirror.
Kal Penn
Hey, everyone, it's Cal Penn. I'm the host of Irsay The Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club. This week on the podcast, I am sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's audiobook project, Hail Mary Massive sci fi adventure about survival and science and what happens when you wake up alone, very far from Earth.
Ray Porter
I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections and it's like, okay, yo, yo, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it. I was like, no. At this point, it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that that deeply, emotionally affected me. And I left it on the mic. That's great because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like, yeah, dude, me too.

Host 1 (Mandy B)
Hey, guys. Welcome to another episode of Decisions, Decisions.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I'm your girl, Mandy B. I'm Weezy and y'.
Kal Penn
All.
Host 2 (Weezy)
We have a special guest in the building, which we hate doing virtual, but it's a good thing she ain't here because, Laila, I really don't look with you like that. That was crazy to me, honey.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Yeah. Guys, we are joined. Laila, AKA the Chlo Bailey, the star in the new Peacock original, Strong. And Babe, Babe, this was. I just wanna say thank you for giving me a sex scene eight minutes into the film. Okay.
Host 2 (Weezy)
That's all we needed.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
You are so welcome.
Host 2 (Weezy)
So I wanna make you laugh, Chloe. So Mandy and I knew we had to. And for anyone listening, basically, when you interview someone about something that just came out, you watch what's called a screener. So it's a private link you get sent and it's fun and it feels secret. And I was like, oh, okay, let's just watch it. And I was excited to see you, but I was really more excited to talk to you once the sex happened.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I was like.
Host 2 (Weezy)
We started texting each other. I said, okay, bitch, we eight minutes.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
It was. I. I need to know. Seeing the script even, what made you be like, yup, this for me, like, stepping out the gate, getting onto the big screen. What made you want to play this character?
Laila
I love how Laila, one, she loves music. So that was something I already could relate with her on, you know? And I just loved the sophistication of a black female violinist. And I also loved the tea. I live for the mess. It was quite toxic.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
It was mess.
Laila
The twists and the turns were giving toxic. They were giving mess.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Now, I know you play the piano and keyboard. Do you play any other instrument besides those?
Laila
So in fifth and sixth grade, I played the violin. I played for two years. Oh, wow. And then I changed out orchestra for choir.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Okay.
Laila
And so when I had to relearn, you know, certain fingerings and things like that so that it could be as accurate as possible, it was like, oh, I've done this before. Let me try to get used to it again. So it was really nice. You know, we had wonderful music tutors that, you know, not only I worked with, but the little girl Romy worked with. So she was actually playing, you know, the piano. So I really appreciated that. Cause I'm the one to, like, call out, like, get that not matching.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Oh, wow.
Laila
So I'm happy that Malcolm the director cared so much about making the musical element as accurate as possible as well.
Host 2 (Weezy)
It's great to see elevated black movies. Now, not to make you laugh, when you said finger. And I was like, I don't know if you've ever heard of our show, Chloe. It used to be called Horrible Decisions, but we're a little more refined, like Laila, period. And one of the things that I really enjoyed watching it was just seeing wealthy black families. And I'm curious, like, when you were doing that as a kid, was it an elitist crowd when you were playing the violin? Was it different? Like, we very rarely get to see, you know, in an orchestra of black men and women. So yet what was that experience? Like?
Laila
I was very fortunate because my nerdy self got my behind in a magnet school, so. And it was a very diverse magnet school. It was like, you saw a lot of black people, a lot of Indians, Asians, everybody. Of all ethnicities. So it was like, that's what my orchestra class was. And it was a huge melting pot of really like minded, strong, smart individuals. So I'm really grateful for that. That, you know, you don't get the stereotypical versions of who people think all of us might be. That we all flourish no matter what, when you give us the possibility and chance to.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I agree. I will say, however, in the film, everybody sucked in terms of, like, how they acted and moved. Like, not actually acted. I'm saying everyone had poor character flaws throughout the film. And I was just like, Layla had some. Oh, no, no, no, girl. I thought, I'm actually mad. Stayed alive at the end. I said, you know what if she would have got her ass whooped? She didn't get her ass beat. Cause she needed her ass whooped. I'm not gonna lie.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Actually, Chloe, I would like to read you Mandy's and I's text messages during watching the film. Just to give you a little laugh.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
No, we were watching it like we were on a movie date. And I will say the first line that had me in was you saying, I normally don't do this now, girl, maybe this time.
Host 2 (Weezy)
But you do give that girl.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
You do give.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Good girl. One of the things I remember thinking about you, your Breakfast Club interview. I was like, oh, she's going to give nothing. She ain't getting nothing. And so I was like, this bitch is good. I honestly thought whoever had done your media training was gonna come out and start a commercial after that.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Cause you were like, well, no, you.
Rach
You ate.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
And I do wanna ask, just because we have to ask, did you have to talk to a boyfriend about these sex scenes that you had? Was that a conversation at all?
Laila
This is my job, you know, And I feel like the person that you are with should be able to compliment and appre and admire what you do.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Unless it was the man you had
Laila
sexually with bringing bacon home, you know.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
So what was his response to these sex scenes?
Laila
Uh, well, my response to the sex scenes, I said, whoa. I gave a little warning.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Okay.
Laila
You know, but, you know, we just gonna have to make it do what it do.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I'm not gonna lie. If I could have any actors, like, sex scenes right now, it would be you and your sisters. I think y' all have been blessed with the best looking sex scene partners in film in the last 10 years.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Ooh, that's a fact.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Yeah.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Okay, question for you. So, you know, we've been talking about sexual education for the last decade, and people that we've interviewed before are intimacy coordinators. And one of the things that I was wondering was like, is it more awkward to sit in the room and talk about it than it is to actually act and do the scene?
Redfin Advertiser
Yes.
Laila
So big shout out to the intimacy coordinators that we had.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Love that.
Laila
So it was like a little workshop of rehearsal. So we had stunts in one room, then we had intimacy workshop, then we had acting rehearsals, things like that. So we had our intimacy coordinating, you know, as we're rehearsing the steps and the moves, you know, and what we're going to do. And I couldn't stop giggling. You know, I. I am a good girl. I. I have some feisty components, but for the most part, I'm quite shy and, and quite reserved.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Yeah, Chloe, you look like a natural girl.
Laila
On stage, it's the opposite. But you know me on an everyday. I couldn't stop giggling, so I was laughing and giggling the whole time.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I want to giggle With Lucien. That's what I want to do.
Laila
Listen, we have, like, the red zones. So you have to touch all over your body to be like, okay, this is a green zone. You can touch me here and then this red zone. And then, like, okay, you can touch me here. Red zone.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Now, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I never heard this. You ain't let Lucian touch your titties.
Ray Porter
Girl.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Girl, no, this is acting.
Laila
I had a full bra on. They used to be around it. I had a full bra. A full panty booty short, actually, is the bra, like.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Is it like the sticky bra we all wear when we have a backless dress?
Laila
It was the bandeau.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Oh, it's a bandeau.
HomeServe Advertiser
Oh.
Laila
So then, you know on, like, the nice shots, when you saw the little sheet, then that would be the half bra.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Okay? So that would make me feel.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
She's giving us tea. Because now I'm curious, because you were in front of him, and we only got to see his bare ass. Was it, like, put into, like, a bag? Or, like, how do they cover the parts of the actual naked people?
Host 2 (Weezy)
Okay, okay.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
See, this is actually funny. We're getting this heat, girl.
Laila
So everyone has coverage, right? Like, you can decide.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Oh, my God, this media trade.
Laila
So you see the outline of my booty, but you don't see the booty, but you see the side, which you see when I post my bathing suit pictures, of course, like, the actions make it seem like more, but really, you don't see the titties. You don't see that. You don't see the cracks.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Now that I'm thinking about it, it really was the acting that made the
Laila
sex scene that made you go like.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Cause some of them, it's like the nudity that makes you be like, ooh. But I do. Okay, let me read the text for real.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Cause this is.
Host 2 (Weezy)
And these are not spoilers for people who are listening. I actually think we have. Just so you know, Chloe, we have a segment we call Cinema, where whenever we watch a great show or a
Host 1 (Mandy B)
movie, especially if that's, like, we just
Host 2 (Weezy)
did DTF St. Louis, we'll basically review it. We would have done this naturally. I think, okay, I love it.
Laila
I'm happy.
Host 2 (Weezy)
So here goes Mandy, Me. This is me right at the start.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Ugh.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Girl, let's hope this ain't boring. Next thing, Mandy says, bitch, this whole cast, fine.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I said, fine.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Mind you, we were gonna come to Miami for the junket. She goes, bitch, I would have fucked somebody in Miami. I said, right.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
We gotta tell her when I Say this whole ca. Whoever did the casting shout out, it's just watching Beauty in Black. Like, it is so beautiful. Like, all of y'. All. I will say, I never thought I would have seen Lynn Whitfield get spoiler alert, girl.
Host 2 (Weezy)
We're not supposed to say that.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
What is one of the sex scenes? Okay. I'm just saying.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Here goes with the other thing. Oh, my God, this is so hot. The choke is so fucking hot. Mandy, hold on. Is this. Get out. Is this horror? I'm waiting to be scared.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Wait.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Lovers quirrel.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Oh, they both want her. Are we gonna get a threesome? I was. We were literally texting. I didn't know if it was. It definitely gave Thriller, but I think what I thought was so incredible was just the layers within why someone could be scared, upset, angry, like, all of the emotions throughout the film. At one point, I was waiting for some supernatural thing to happen, and it didn't. So this was such a well thought out.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I was too.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Well, I was. We literally texted someone a part of the film and was like, is this a scary movie? Cause I'm not ready.
Host 2 (Weezy)
But I think you were scaring me too. You have a look that you get in scenes where you're getting really serious. And I was like, okay, she's freaking me out. She's freaking me out. But also, she was turning me on. Ten minutes ago, I actually told Mandy I felt like I was watching the Black Housemaid for a while, because the housemaid. I don't know if you got to see it, but I love her books. That was a movie where I was excited the whole time. And as cheesy as Freedom McFadden books can be sometimes, I was really excited throughout the whole movie. I think everybody was. And I felt the same watching this. And I want to know what part of it made you the most excited while shooting it. What scene were you like, damn, I killed that shit?
Laila
The scene I was most excited to get into was the scene with Lynn, you know, us fighting. I was most excited for that because she's legendary and, you know, thin line between love and hate. Like, she is just top notch. Like, I have always admired her. So to be able to play alongside her. And Ms. Lynn gets down. She is so active. She was. We both were doing it together for real, on our own.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I was gonna ask. There was no stunt stunts.
Laila
Like, we had stunt people for, like, the extra stuff, but, like, I had bruises from heels on my legs.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Whoa.
Laila
We were both, like, slamming each other down. Yes. There was a moment I had to do like a football kind of toss into her.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Hold on. So you was excited? What was that?
Laila
I was nervous because when your adrenaline's pumping, you don't know how far you're gonna go. So I was like, Ms. Lynn, please let me know if I'm gonna. You know. And she was like, no, girl, you good? I'm good.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I was like, pants?
Laila
No. She is so fit and healthy and active, and that was just so exciting for me. When the scene finished, I was like, wow. I got to do a scene like this alongside the legendary Lynn Whitfield. So I think that was what I was most excited for.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Outside of Lynn. I forget how long she acted, because now I'm such a fan of her singing. How was it acting alongside Coco Jones?
Laila
Oh, that's my girl. I've known Coco since I was 12, since I played Wire Girls and Let it shine. Yes, since 12. Yes, ma'. Am.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
So what was it like now, acting with her as, you know, just an adult and your homegirl?
Host 2 (Weezy)
Have y' all done something together before?
Laila
It was really. Yes. Let it shine, Let it shine, Let it shine. But, you know, we've stayed friends throughout then, and I'm so proud of everything that she's doing. So when I found out she got casted as the best friend role, I was like, oh, there's nobody else more perfect. And, you know, she came to Cape Town for a week, and we. We knocked it all out together, and it just felt so natural, like we weren't even acting. And in between shots, we were kikiing.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Did you say Cape Town?
Laila
About our life, and I didn't realize
Host 2 (Weezy)
you shot in South Africa.
Laila
Yes, we shot it in South Africa.
Kal Penn
Oh, wow. Ooh.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Do you listen to I'm a Piano Girl? Cause we gonna have to hit it up in la. That's what I'm doing.
Laila
Yes, I do. It was a time.
Kal Penn
Hey, everyone, it's Kal Penn.
Ray Porter
I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections. And it's like, okay, yo, yo, yo. Is this indulgent? And I really thought about it. I was like, no, at this point, it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that deeply, emotionally affected me and I left it on the mic. That's great because it served the story. People will say like oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like yeah dude, me too.

to keep it Just one question too, because y' all are friends. She's now engaged. Do you ever go to Coco Jones for dating advice?
Laila
We be shooting it. We be shooting it. You know, she be telling me stuff. I'm like, yeah, girl, you don't give.
Host 2 (Weezy)
What advice has she given you? Because in the movie, you know, it
Host 1 (Mandy B)
gave she gave you bad advice.
Host 2 (Weezy)
She said, you gonna get some dick in this house.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
She doesn't give advice like that.
Laila
You know, in the movie, her character, she just wanted Layla to have fun. Because Laila, you know, she got traumatized from her sister passing. She was just keeping herself locked in the house. She was like, girl, you need to have some fun.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Do you have a friend like that in real life that's always pushing you to be bad?
Laila
No. Which is good, because you become what you surround yourself with. You know what I mean? I have the circle of people I have around me kind of help me tame myself, calm it down.
Host 2 (Weezy)
We do need a devil on our shoulder sometimes. I need a, like, you know, when you have a friend that coddles you and one that gives you the real. I do think we need a little devil on our shoulder.
Laila
So it's like, so my godmom, who I'm really close to, I tell her everything anytime I'm about to crash out. It's a mild version of crash out. I pause, say I'm on FaceTime or a phone call. I pause. I'm like, hold on, can I get a snack? Even though I'm like, I'm simmering inside. Cause I don't want to regret anything I'm going to say. I mute it. I go over her. I either call her on my iPad or whatever I'm not on. And I'm like, can you let me know if I'm tripping here? And she'll be like, one. She'll be like, okay, you mad tripping? Or she'll be like, no, you have every right.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
So once I get the. You have every right.
Laila
I'm like, bet. So I have that. But sis, she is. She'll be the one to kind of like. She'll be more of like Coco's character in the movie.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I love that because it's nice to see, like, sisterhood, womanhood, friendship in movies. And one of the big themes that I feel like we kept talking about was, like, being a girl's girl. Because I don't know, like, while being in the movie, it's hard when you're into somebody you didn't know the woman. You know what I mean? Like, what do you think could have been done in real life differently? Let's just say that this happened. And for those listening, we've already seen the movie, right? We'll make sure that you guys have been locked in. So having the situation of sleeping with someone and you didn't know they were in a relationship, do you think Women should come out front and say something. Because I actually am pretty tossed up with that. Like, if I slept with someone and then found out he was married, I don't know if I would go out of my way to contact that woman.
Kal Penn
Yeah.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
No, I don't.
Laila
Look, if I could give my honest, toxic opinion.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Please.
Laila
I feel like the best advice is to just walk away and leave. Because the person who hurt you was the man or the woman, depending on your situation.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Yeah.
Laila
So I wouldn't feel right going out of my way to go hurt another woman if she's meant to find out. I'm not going to be the one. Especially if I don't know her. Just to be spiteful, because I can't have the man.
Host 2 (Weezy)
But see, that's what people consider as spite. But then other women feel like, oh, my God, you should have told me. And I just don't know if that's my duty.
Laila
No, no. Because if you tell them, it's gonna be a back and forth and drama. And I would just. If I would tell Laila, once she found him in the house, that scene they had outside her little room, gracefully bow out, thank you very much, and leave.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Chloe. Cause Laila did not do that. And I think most women don't do that. Most women got caught up because. Especially when it's good and based on how.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Wait, wait. Good and rich a lot.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
No, she didn't know he was rich, though. Based on how the best friend, she said it was the best penis of Laila's life. Like, you can't just get rid of the best penis. And at that point, it's okay to share it. Like, you just have to share the best penis in life. Cause Lynn, at one point, I think
Host 2 (Weezy)
Mandy sent me a text that had me crying. I had taken a pause and went to the bathroom or something. I pick up my phone and she goes. So he just fucking every bitch in
Host 1 (Mandy B)
his house Now, Chloe, I wanna ask you at one point in one of the scenes. And again, this is a sex pot. So I was just, like, loving all the themes, but she says that being choked during sex is the best orgasm you'll ever have. I'm gonna ask you, is there anything that has, you know, been done to you that created that euphoric feeling that was expressed in the film?
Laila
Well, a lady never kisses and tells.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Baby, I need your media trainer. Oh, we gonna get you in person. You know what I'm saying? I'm.
Laila
But what I really loved about. You know, why that was more than just sex for the Movie. It was a very telling sign of. This is that's how the wife found out. She saw the mark on the neck. She's like, I know what my husband does. This. And same for Ms. Lynn's character. It was like he was marking his territory on all these women. At first glance, it's like, oh, yeah, that's sexual. But then at the next glance, it's like, well, that shows everybody, like, okay, this is what's happening. This is.
Host 2 (Weezy)
That's a great point, because you ever had a situation where I don't know if this has happened to you. I feel like you just have the best scenarios with men. You just seem like. You don't seem like you get the niggas.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
The wee be tricky, tricky. She deal with some of the same shit we deal with.
Host 2 (Weezy)
So, like, sometimes I'll have a conversation about a man or maybe have heard something from ex girlfriend where we realize, like, the treatment is the same. And I think when I saw the origami moment, like, I had made a comment to her, like, oh, my God, this is fly. Like, I'm gonna do this with my man. But knowing that he did it with someone else, it's almost like it doesn't make you feel special. And I'm gonna paint a random scenario for you. Okay? You're on a trip with your man. You're having such a great time. You're at this resort, and he takes you to a restaurant and is like, I know you would love this place. And you're like, oh, my God, I do come to find out. You just doing a little doom scrolling. And you see the ex girlfriend of him went to this restaurant a few years ago.
Laila
Oh, yeah, don't take me. Don't take me there again.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Okay, I'm not mad at that one.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Okay, wait, tell me, why does it make you feel like it's not special? Like, he didn't put thought into it?
Laila
Not that it's not special, but there was minimal thought. It was a rerun. And there's already memories that were locked in that moment. I'm not trying to be a rerun. Let's make some new memories.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I'm with you, but we had this conversation once.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
It's a sequel, and I'm there to stay. If the food is good, babe, I need it.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I get too in my head. I think about the experience that someone has had with someone else. And I think Mandy and I got into a conversation once where I said my boyfriend took me somewhere and I didn't feel special.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
And she's like why I take all my people to the same spots. And I love when it's good. Everybody going to fix it.
Laila
So you take all of your men to the same restaurant?
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Oh, girl, all of them.
Host 2 (Weezy)
They have all been to Lucia and la. They done all been to Linden. They tied.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Girl, girl, I just had one to tell. We hit up the MCK on a Sunday.
Laila
What about when you meet like your future husband? You gonna take them to the same
Host 1 (Mandy B)
spots and then if they run into a past lover. Dang, that's a past lover. He must still like the.
Laila
But like when you know it's serious. Like, I don't think you would. Girl.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Wait, what?
Host 2 (Weezy)
What? Okay, wait, wait, hold on. Khloe. Now we just gotta give a random. I don't know what city you live in, but I just think about LA and acting. Can you drop some of your favorite local spots in different cities that maybe. Or even black owned. Let's show some people some love some of your favorite spots. And now I wanna know, are you
Host 1 (Mandy B)
never gonna go again?
Host 2 (Weezy)
Cause you got a new man.
Laila
I'll go by myself. But I'm not going to take my man on a date to a place that I took another man. You know what I mean? No, because then I'm just gonna be in my mind comparing notes and that's not fair to the other person.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
What? Like how they hold their fork and spoon?
Host 2 (Weezy)
Girl, I am like, it's the same setup.
Laila
That's boring.
Host 2 (Weezy)
I mean, I kind of get what you mean, but sometimes it's just like. But tell us some of those places though. I would love to know if you have anything to share.
Laila
Ooh, you travel so much. You're probably a very simple galaxy. I love ordering food in, but if I had to pick a couple places, I recently was.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
What is the name?
Laila
I found this incredible pasta spot in New York last week.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Which one?
Laila
And I was. I don't remember the name. And the food was so good and the bread was so good. But I did have the pasta and garlic bread with no butter. Met her at a bar the other day. I said, wow, I didn't know they made. They got down with the spaghetti like this. Then I really had an addiction to cinnaholic, which is vegan cinnamon rolls. They have one New York, Louisiana, Atlanta, Toronto. I think I ate it a little too much. But it's vegan. They don't advertise as vegan. And it's like a cinnamon roll Chipotle.
Host 2 (Weezy)
We gotta eat what you eat. Cause baby, your thirst trap's Been trapping me.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Your body is bodying.
Laila
The work has to be put in because I eat one thing. My body in flames.
Ray Porter
No.
Laila
You know, they say baddie feel about it.
Host 2 (Weezy)
You can't be like a hot gal and not have like a little now,
Laila
like from December, like November, December, January. I did not go in the gym at all. And I saw my butt and thighs getting thicker. I was like, okay, cute. But then I saw my arms getting thicker too. I said, uh, oh, let me get up in the gym. I have a lot of things to prepare for. I don't want to be caught slipping on the carpet.
Host 2 (Weezy)
What's your workout routine when you're getting ready for a role? Like, what does your life turn into? Like, when you're getting ready to do something, are you just like business as usual or are you like non plus?
Laila
When you're learning, you stay ready so you don't have to get ready. Because by the time it's coming up, say it's like you get notified of a shoot maybe a week before, two weeks before, you're not gonna be able to look your best. Like trying to cramp it all in those two weeks. Now I have done it, you know, with the little three day juice cleanse. A quick, but it'll come right back. So I'm learning consistency is key. It's the best feeling when for so long you're like, okay, I'm getting up at 5am I'm not seeing any results. But when you look and you see results, I just had that moment the other day with my arms and back muscles because that's my most difficult area. I said, hold up, wait a minute, I see iron arms. I was very happy.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
What was the difference between preparing for this role and preparing for like a performance?
Laila
It was quite similar.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Okay.
Laila
To be honest, it was quite similar because of the musical component. You know, I still had to learn all of my sheet music so that I could learn the orchestration pieces that Laila plays. What else? And I just had to be comfortable being raw and open and storytelling. And that's what I do on stage. I storytell. That's my goal actually. So when I'm doing it right, I'm properly storytelling. So the preparation for it kind of was the same.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
For anyone interested in watching Strung, what would you kind of tell them as a pretense going into it? If you could explain the movie in like two sentences.
Laila
Ooh.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Cause you explained it as toxic mess earlier. And I agree. Yes, yes.
Laila
It's the most sophisticated, toxic, hot cup of tea you could drink.
Host 2 (Weezy)
It was.
Laila
And it will be an unforgettable experience.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
It was. I will say that strung. Definitely captured. It made me have a lot of emotions. Like, I was upset with every character at some point and was like, literally yelling.
Host 2 (Weezy)
That's when you know it's good.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
I said, bitch, no, you didn't. I know you didn't. Like, I was upset.
Laila
Accurately depicting a human being. It's like, as goody two shoes as Laila is. She wasn't good enough to not.
Mint Mobile Advertiser
Oh, no.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Layla wasn't shit club. I was really like, I had even looking at you when you got on the screen, I was mad for a second. I had to be like, it was a movie.
Laila
It's all right. You could take it out on me. It is okay.
Host 2 (Weezy)
No, you really did my job. You angry at them? I feel like it's like a good workout. You know when you're in a workout and you're pissed and you're like, thank you. Once you're done. That's what you gave us. So I would implore everybody to watch that. Talk shit with us. Get in the group, chat with your friends when you're watching it. And please, we need a sequel. We need something more. I want to see more scenes of you being messy because it's great to see someone play the opposite of what they are.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Yeah.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Give us filth again.
Laila
It's wonderful. It's wonderful. And it's so beautifully done. I had the best castmates. I love Malcolm, the director, and, you know, he does it so beautifully. Think about the best man and girls trip. It's like you get to see the best parts of the character, but also their biggest flaws because that's how we are as human beings. So it's really beautiful to have a strong story and, of course, some little toxic sprinkled in there. And that's. That's when we know we got the viewer.
Host 1 (Mandy B)
Well, Chloe, you and the entire cast ate down. I am excited, and I hope everyone listening and watching this goes and catches strung on peacock, y'.

Check it out. Chloe, thank you so much. And I'm not gonna lie. We need to do this in person. Babe, we gotta see you in person.
Host 2 (Weezy)
We're overdue.
Laila
That was fun. Thank you, ladies.
Host 2 (Weezy)
Bye, Boo.
