He was sentenced to 35 years. We will discuss yet again whether we think this high profile trial had any due to fairness during the proceedings and kind of what he was charged with. And he also talked about. There's a clip I was watching over last couple of days that resonated where he talked about. I should have sent it to you guys in the group where he talked about the victim blaming shit. You know what I'm saying? And this is their behavior. This is their pattern.

And it's funny to me because the thing that they were angry about was the fact that this isn't about race. This isn't about race. This isn't about race. Well, I'm like, if it's not about race, then why is the jury all white?

Why is there no balance whatsoever in this case if it's not about race?

And what about his father, Austin's father coming out, he called all kind of watermelon.

And he even tried to play the role, and you could tell he almost told. Well, he did kind of tell her.

He pulled up some weird statistics about the baby. The absent father.

Yeah, the absent father. But when.

But you can. Here's the thing, though. When the shit first happened and people were reacting to the news of this young boy, young black boy killing a white boy, there was a whole thing about basically black fatigue and white people. And he made a public statement about, hey, I don't support that. That's not what I'm about. Like, this isn't about that. Whoopty, whoopty, whoopty, whoop. Because he was trying to keep it cool for the public perception of the trial. As soon as he got what he wanted, he got right back into the regular bag and started talking all the same exact shit that they were talking before the trial because he didn't want to taint the jury.

And the comments, like, I had to tell Jon, like, what part of the algorithm did you take us into? It was kind of crazy. Now, I don't want to do too much Carmelo Anthony child talk now. And so with the World cup now taking place in the US I do want to play this clip of this woman who shared what's happening right now with the US Hosting so many games and kind of what many people may not know is happening. Yomi, can you play the clip? Let's get into what's actually happening and why. This may be the worst World cup ever.

This is going to be one of the worst World Cups we've ever held in centuries. It hasn't started yet, but a lot has happened. In case you don't know, this is what has happened so far. Omar Artan, recognized as Africa's best referee, was denied entry into the United States at Miami International Airport. He held a diplomatic passport. He was set to become the first Somali to officiate at a World Cup. The reason? Vetting concerns. That's all they said. Vetting concerns. FIFA told him they couldn't do anything about it. They Sent him back to Istanbul.

The Senegal national team arrived in San Antonio, Texas, and was searched on the airport tarmac, not inside a terminal. On the tarmac, players were forced to remove their shoes, open every bag, and get scanned with handheld metal detectors right after stepping off the plane. One player had the soles of his feet checked. This would never happen to a European team. The Uzbekistan team pulled up to Ikon Stadium in New York for a friendly against the Netherlands. They were forced to hand over their phones, empty their pockets, and go through full body metal detector scans. A sniffer dog was brought in to inspect their bags laid out on the ground. The Netherlands players walked right past. No screening, nothing. Iran had it worse. Several team members were denied us completely. They had to move their training base from Arizona all the way to Tijuana, Mexico. Now they have to commute across the border for every single match and leave the country immediately after. A US official actually said, and I quote, we will not allow the Iranian team to abuse this system to sneak terrorists into the United States under false pretenses. That's an official statement about a national soccer team. Iraq's star striker, Ayman Hussein, was detained and interrogated for seven hours at Chicago o'. Hare. Seven hours. While the rest of his team cleared immigration just fine, the team photographer was denied entry entirely and sent back home. South Africa's national team was grounded for 24 hours because at least 20 members of their traveling party still didn't have their US visas processed. Their assistant coach, team doctor, head of security, and performance analyst were all left behind. Japan, one of the most organized teams in the world, had to ditch their training site in Monterrey, Mexico, because the pitch was uneven, full of patches of dirt. They had to move twice in two days, first from Tigris UANL's facility, then from their backup field before finally landing at Club Monterey's ground. This is days before the tournament starts, and the fans, Senegal and Ivory coast, are on the US travel ban list. Dedicated supporters who traveled to Qatar 2022, who follow their teams everywhere, are now being told they can't come. An Ivory coast fan leader called it segregation. He said no European country has faced this kind of restriction. This is going to be one of the worst World Cup.

The jury rejected the self defense and sudden passion arguments and returned with a guilty verdict after deliberating for less than three hours. I wanna note that as well. Now, this high profile trial sparked intense Protests outside of the courthouse with Anthony's family and supporters publicly raising concerns, of course, which we talked about, the racial bias and jury selection. Trial judge John Roach defended the fairness of the proceedings, including his controversial decision to ban cameras in the courtroom, which I also wanna discuss because we unfortunately only have the transcripts to go by. So we're not able to even see how people, you know, mind you, we were just able to see other trials recently. I think banning cameras in this courtroom keeps us from really seeing what the jury experienced in terms of they've been

empowered to do so of the people

who the witnesses we could see if they dropped, if the witnesses dropped the ball, we would be able to see the passion or if there was hiccups like I think body language and how people describe things, their emotions is very important and does touch to juror kind of decision making, you know what I mean? So I think banning the cameras in this courtroom to me is another way in which we as a community did not get fairness and to see what the proceedings of this trial was. Carmelo Anthony is only, I believe, 19 years old now. He was tried as an adult. He is receiving 35 years, which means he won't be able to seek parole until 17 years.

He's gonna serve at least 17.

Now we should be noted that they've decided. They have. They are going to appeal.

The New York Post decided to write a disgusting article about the way in which Carmelo Anthony's family lives. Speaking of the amount of cars the family has, speaking of the home that they reside in.

And they're very consistent.

They were insinuating that the GoFundMe money is now affording them this luxurious Lifestyle. It's disgusting. It shows that this trial was, in fact, very racially biased the entire time, including with the media. And I did come here and say, I do believe he was guilty. I do believe, however, 35 years is extreme and is not fair. And I wanted to bring up, too, in terms of how we view justice in this country. A white Georgia man decided to open fire on a black family reunion in which he was able to be released on a $5,000 bond. And I'm not sure what's following this, but he's not being tried at all with attempted murder, which is essentially what this is.

Chief, it says that he did get into an argument with some of the people at the reunion, then left, and he ended up coming back. He did. This is where I'm confused. Why? It's not a hate crime. Not only was he talking junk, he did use the N word in the conversation before leaving and coming back with an AR15 and body armor opening fire into the crowd. Now, Kinser was arrested, and after he was discharged from the hospital, and then again, he was let out on a $5,000 bond. Now, the Lee County Sheriff's Office says that more charges are pending. So this is one of those cases. Again, we have to be able to. We have to talk about it. There has to be more conversation, cuz. Hopefully a king. You're shaking your head.

There's a video. And I don't understand how they got to see the video in court and it's not been released to the public.

And they had. I wish I could find this video. I don't know where it's at, but there was a. There was a guy explaining he saw the video. In the video, he's saying he saw the video. I don't know if he was a juror or what his position was, but he said he saw the video and he said that it shows Carmelo sitting there, it shows the brother come up. It shows his metcalf come up, his brother come up and other white teammates come up to him and basically are surrounding him in a situation where it's clear that they are accosting him in some kind of way. And he could. It would have been obvious that there would have been some fear that, oh shit, all these people are about to whoop my ass.

Did you also. Did you see as well the black man who just got sentenced to 45 years for stealing Legos?

Apparently he. There was a. He had a. Even the way the article wrote it was like this man had a 50 day scheme to steal Legos across. So he was caught stealing these Legos and they gave him 45 years.

No one took Legos. And he was trying to be creative with it too. It wasn't like he was.

Who's going to be in my district, my county? That's Going to affect me directly. That answers to them. The more people we have. That goes against that shit.

And that's why we doing all this redistricting. You know, it's a lot.

Well, as we get closer to time, but also just like, when. Once we get everything black going, like, there's some shit we're going to talk about. But to your point, about the Marines in the family and that type of thing, thankfully, I'm glad that there was someone in that group of people who was strapped, proficient and able to defend.

Hold that. And the truth of the matter is that we want.

We want to have all of these things. And we know that that is going against the. And the part that we don't talk about enough to me is that of course we have to vote, of course we have to use our voices. But the truth of the matter is that when you're talking about a revolution, like a real revolution, you look at these other countries, you don't get a real revolution without some violence. And we're not talking about going out just murdering people. But what I'm saying is that you're fighting against a system that wants to stay intact by any means. You're not just going to get it because. Because you want it, you might have to take it. You might have to put up a real fight for it. And there's people out there that want to kill us. Not just black people, gay people, any marginalized group of people. There's someone out there who wants you dead.

And I will say, in terms of. I'm 35 now, seeing BLM, seeing all the peaceful protests, the peaceful protests that took place, and now seeing the reversal of DEI and things like, it sucks to feel like that did nothing. And so hearing you say that does. And mind you, I'm someone that's against guns. And, you know, we've talked about my thoughts on the right to bear arms. But to literally be walking and being a part of those protests during COVID and to see companies go from acting like they care to not caring at

all, because it was financially profitable for them at the time because it looked good. It was good pr.

It was a part. It was a PR move.

They had meetings about it and sat in boardroom. People get paid millions of dollars to be like, what should we do right now? We should just chill. We should just show the niggas some love.

And that sucks when it's. We already don't trust them. So I think for that to be the movement that it was, to be so tarnished even within history, like that was such a movement of peaceful protest across the country. Because what that, across the world.

What caused that?

How did we get the Black Lives Matter movement? Something happened. What were we doing?

Oh no, the killing of, I mean, Trayvon Martin or something.

So it's like, we need to be leaders and not look for the leaders. And also, like, stop looking for messiahs. Y', all. Like, be the messiah.

She didn't call any names, but she was talking about her colleagues and people that she knows in Congress and about how when it was time to do some shit, they all got on. Some like, ah, I gotta. I gotta. But I got my reelection. Ah, I can't. I'll say to you. I'll say it to you on the phone, but I won't go on CNN and say it.

I mean, I won't.

You could compare that to the same thing we saw with Colin taking the knee and the other black NFL players. Like, oh, well, I need my check. I got a family to feed.

And nobody wants to do that shit. And so it's like, until you have more people who are willing to actually suffer for. Listen, the people. When I even say ancestors. Yeah, ancestors. But like, in the 60s, like, people who crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge so that niggas could vote, they got their head bust. Martin Luther King died in 1964. Like, this shit wasn't that long ago. Niggas were losing their lives, their health, their livelihood.

We're not saying this enough. That's why they removed the books out of the classroom, too.

That's why that's critical race theory.

That's why I've never. I've been never one to ignore my history or our history or just the past. The past allows you to know what's ahead in the future. It always comes back to it. But if we remove those elements in that intensity and we don't know that that exists or these kids don't know that shit, how did they arm themselves mentally, emotionally?

I'm not gonna lie. You saying that history used to be one of my least favorite,

but that

was Hottie Hottie, and mind you, in Florida, yes. But it was like remembering dates and, like, names. I don't even do that for, like, regular people. I don't remember birthdays. I stuck with names. Right? So history was just always like, why we gotta learn about this? And it wasn't until I got older that I really realized that it Literally repeats itself. And so how do you get better if you don't know how they handled it in the past? Or how do you keep things from. From happening again if you don't know what happened at the moment it happened? And so for me, just history and recalling things and specifically administrations, specifically how certain natural disasters happened, even seeing how we did the protests, like, it was insane to me to be a part of these peaceful protests during the pandemic and being able to see the images and how much it looked like the civil rights.

And to your point, though, some of the problem is a. Like, yes, they were keeping things from us. They weren't teaching people, like, the whole history. But then the other problem that you just talked about, which I don't think think is talked about enough, is when you're teaching history, you're making people learn dates and names and all that. That's not the important part. The important part is the message, the lesson, the actual lesson of not just like, oh, no, when this war happened. Oh, no, when this person became president. The lesson is these things in history happened, and this is what happened because of these things. Here's the trickle down of, yeah, you don't need.

You don't need to give me a quiz or an examination. In what year did Martin Luther King pass?

It's not the point.

[Mandy B.]

And it's like three years in the 60s and then one in the point.

The point is, why did he get killed? What happened when he died, and what did that affect going forward?

But then he becomes a hero when he was public enemy number one. Right, right. But he died. Now he becomes a hero. Because they control the narrative. They control the narrative. That's why they tell us if I had a dream. Right. But they don't tell you that he was leaning toward them. Man, you know what?

All of that, like, Malcolm was right.

When you become a psychopath, when you are a person that infiltrates a system to create a world that is one of your own, maternal instinct is what happens. And so basically, this woman lied from everything to family members receiving money. She lied about who she was as a person, the things she experienced even with other people within her life. She had a hysterectomy and made a man believe she was pregnant. So much so that when it came down to her due date, she went and killed a woman, cut the baby out, and then went to the hospital and acted like she gave birth. And so not to.

Not to compare Cheyenne Bryant to a woman like this. But as I watched that documentary, I said, this is the harm of a liar. You cannot sit here and feed into a person who is sick. And the way that she said she ran for mayor, ran for office, the amount of degrees, the schools she allegedly went to.

To me, I watched Maternal Instinct and I was like, this is the insanity, and this is the cause and effect of a liar. How far are you willing to go
