Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. Welcome to another episode of Selective Ignorance with me, your host, Mandy B. Hope y' all are done with the glizzies and the hamburgers and the fireworks, babe. Cause we're back at it again. And up front, we are getting a little ignorant as it seems as though Kamala Harris may be getting her tail back into the running for the presidency campaign. We'll see and share our thoughts on that. Then in this is America, we will explain to y' all why so many black Americans actually have mixed feelings about the Fourth of July, the holiday that we just celebrated over the weekend.
Jason Rodriguez
This Fourth of July is.
Mandy B.
Then we're getting into all things this is America. Texas becomes the first state to require kids to read the Bible. What happened to the distinction and separation between church and state? Our thoughts. Then we are gonna possibly get really ignorant what they do. A Michigan couple has been charged with murder after their child dies from. From what? Obesity.
Jason Rodriguez
Lord have mercy.
Mandy B.
That's right. A couple is charged because their kid died from being a little big. Then as Celebrities say the darnest things. Amber says opportunity in America is a free for all and isn't dictated by the color of your skin. Yes, this is coming from a woman raising black sons.
Jason Rodriguez
Shut your mouth.
Mandy B.
Then for whatever reason, we can't have any. Anything in our community because India Arie, amongst other women are coming for the boycott of the Song of the Summer. They are really upset with Yung Miami. We're getting into all these things. Don't go anywhere. Get your coffee, get your liquor, get your Epsilon. That's what Josh said. And rock with us. We're about to be selectively ignorant. And before we get into all the things, let me introd introduce the people to my right. We are missing journalism, Jason today. But I got the OG pod legend, a king what it do? How you feeling with your bun in the shade all black? Who funeralism.
King Howard
Why you so hype?
Mandy B.
Because this is a double espresso cold brew.
Jason Rodriguez
A double.
Mandy B.
Okay. And it's yours. I'm so.
Jason Rodriguez
You are tired hurt today.
King Howard
So you got sugar and alcohol?
Mandy B.
No, I ain't do no tequila yet. I ain't do nothing.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, she, she's, she's.
Mandy B.
She's.
Jason Rodriguez
She's dry.
Mandy B.
I am dry this morning. Dry too.
King Howard
All right, that's just. That's not our problem. But no, I'm feeling good, man. You know, we going to talk about the July 4th situations, you know what I mean?
Mandy B.
Yeah. All the things we.
King Howard
Midway throughout through the year.
Mandy B.
Can you believe that?
King Howard
I'm not. We passed the midway mark.
Mandy B.
Okay.
King Howard
We're in the lower half.
Mandy B.
Is that also something as human beings? Like, has there ever been a slow year? Because why do we always say, ooh, this year flying by? Or is that just because where we're at, what we've done personally, like, why is that always a thing?
Jason Rodriguez
My personal theory on it is that the older you get, the faster time is. Like something happens with time where every year you get older, the shit kicks up a little bit more. A little bit more. A little bit more. By the time you 80, you turn 110 and you fucking out of here.
King Howard
Well, a lot of stuff, A lot of stuff is happening that's consuming our time too.
Jason Rodriguez
That's true.
Mandy B.
Is that what it is?
King Howard
So things are faster? Yeah, because we always on the go and trying to, you know, navigate through
Jason Rodriguez
life is fast life.
Mandy B.
It's funny because you said we always doing something. Like, before cell phones, what would you do when you was on the toilet?
Jason Rodriguez
Like, I'd just be sitting there thinking,
Mandy B.
what do you think people did on the toilet.
Jason Rodriguez
Newspaper.
Mandy B.
Oh, they brought the newspaper on the side.
King Howard
My dad used to.
Jason Rodriguez
Damn.
King Howard
He used to smoke a. He wasn't a smoker, but he had a pipe. Oh, but I think he did that. I think he did that just for the air. Now, he did a bar that was like his incense. You know what I mean?
Jason Rodriguez
Using tobacco is from crazy.
King Howard
That's crazy. It's strong.
Jason Rodriguez
It is strong.
King Howard
But, yeah. Newspaper.
Mandy B.
Okay.
King Howard
I was never on the street. Something to read, some reading material.
Mandy B.
But you read on the toilet now, right?
King Howard
Niggas be.
Jason Rodriguez
Stop scrolling. Yeah, every scrolling.
King Howard
But be careful when you scrolling, because if you wipe your behind and you got some more wipe to go, and then you in between wipes.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, yeah. No, no, no.
King Howard
If your finger hit the joint and then you touch the mouth.
Jason Rodriguez
No, no, no, no.
King Howard
I don't smell my phone smell like that.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, no, I don't play that game at all. I have a very. Wipe with the right, scroll with the left. No contamination. Oh, I don't fuck around.
King Howard
Never almost drop your phone, though.
Jason Rodriguez
I'll put that shit down. You know how sometimes they have the little. The toilet. The fabric rim thing, joint. So if they have one of those, I'll lean my phone on there. But we don't touch hands.
Mandy B.
Okay?
Jason Rodriguez
No contamination.
King Howard
Do y' all wipe your phones when you come from outside? You know what?
Jason Rodriguez
I've never cleaned my phone.
King Howard
I'm a germaphobe. I take a hp. I never clean my wipe. And I wipe my phone because we bring the phone into the bed.
Jason Rodriguez
No, it goes everywhere. It's dirty as hell.
Mandy B.
Yeah, you were the reason why, Covid.
Jason Rodriguez
Probably.
King Howard
Cause these phone cases are in antibacterial.
Jason Rodriguez
No, not at all.
King Howard
Defense ain't got. Not at all. I mean, that got every. That got.
Mandy B.
Shut up. Shut up.
King Howard
That got. What's that? Antivirus.
Mandy B.
You done?
Jason Rodriguez
You done it much? No, it might.
Unidentified Guest 1
It might not have necessarily, like, juice on it and.
Mandy B.
Dude, yeah, okay.
Jason Rodriguez
It might have some badussie on it.
Mandy B.
I ain't been to McK in a minute, though.
King Howard
McK juices. It's been a couple ground zeroussie on there.
Mandy B.
No, actually, this has the French quarter on it right now.
Jason Rodriguez
That's the only thing going on.
King Howard
Do some Yoruba sayings or whatever.
Mandy B.
Oh, my goodness, y'. All, we have another voice talking. It's the king of headlines, huh?
Jason Rodriguez
Jason John Lee Pop blessing all the yak niggas. What up, what up, what up, what up? I got a question for y'.
King Howard
All.
Jason Rodriguez
Cause before we started this, uh, Oh, y' all was. You was a king. Was talking about how there was a song by Milli Vanilla. You didn't know, but you knew. Akanelli. Put in your mouth.
Mandy B.
Put it in my mouth.
Jason Rodriguez
So my question is, what is the better dick sucking song? Put in my mouth or love in your mouth?
Mandy B.
What is love in your mouth?
Jason Rodriguez
You don't know? Loving your mouth.
King Howard
Ooh, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
Jason Rodriguez
Loving your love.
Mandy B.
Clearly I'm gonna say Kehlu Ali.
Jason Rodriguez
Aw, man.
Mandy B.
You know what's crazy about that?
Jason Rodriguez
Aw man.
Mandy B.
He performed at birthday bash.
Jason Rodriguez
Aw, man. Wait, I know you can't.
Mandy B.
You're an Atlanta person. You can't.
Jason Rodriguez
I know we can't. I know.
Mandy B.
Kilo Ali.
Jason Rodriguez
I know we can't play this song.
Unidentified Guest 1
I think I might be too young for this.
Mandy B.
You're way too.
Jason Rodriguez
You're way too off of. You're way too off of this. Hold on. I know.
Mandy B.
Let me see. Best dick sucking record. No, it's Akanelli, bro. And you know what? People are probably yelling. Not yelling at their work desk. Dick suck.
Unidentified Guest 1
Yelling at the dick.
King Howard
Yelling at the dick.
Jason Rodriguez
Wait, there's no way you from Florida.
Unidentified Guest 1
Hold on.
Jason Rodriguez
And you have not heard this song before.
Mandy B.
Let me hear it. Let me hear it. Let me hear it. I'm listening.
Unidentified Guest 1
Damn.
Mandy B.
Yeah. Bring the mic close.
Jason Rodriguez
You hear that? Spanish guitar just setting you up.
Mandy B.
Spanish guitar setting you up for the dictionary.
Jason Rodriguez
Little rain in the background.
Unidentified Guest 1
Y' all definitely have to keep talking. So copyright.
Mandy B.
Oh, yeah. I mean, for YouTube at this point, we not making.
King Howard
Selective ignorance. Selective ignorance. Selectiveignorance.com.
Jason Rodriguez
you don't know this song. Listen, there's gonna be. If you're listening to this episode right now, you know Kilo Ali, loving your mouth.
Mandy B.
Please, please, please.
King Howard
I never heard of that song.
Mandy B.
You never seen.
Jason Rodriguez
You know what I'm not so surprised about.
King Howard
No. Why?
Mandy B.
Wait, can you.
King Howard
No.
Jason Rodriguez
I never heard.
King Howard
Let me see.
Jason Rodriguez
Kelo Ali. Do you know Kelo Ali?
Mandy B.
Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
Okay, where's he from? I don't shoot out here.
Mandy B.
He's from Atlanta.
King Howard
What. What year was this? Oh, I mean, it was 90s, early 2000s.
Mandy B.
I want to hear it.
Unidentified Guest 1
1998. Some like that. Probably.
King Howard
Selective ignorance. Dot com.
Jason Rodriguez
Just wait for the hook. Just wait for the hook.
Mandy B.
I want to hear the hook now. King is cracking me up. Damn. This is a 24 bar verse. Okay, I do know this song.
King Howard
You ever heard of army so horny.
Mandy B.
Hey, King, just stop.
King Howard
We can do a man these horny playlists.
Jason Rodriguez
This is. This is. This is like, people listen to this know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm shocked.
Mandy B.
It doesn't beat this Left me. You know this, right, D?
Jason Rodriguez
No, I think they.
King Howard
I think.
Jason Rodriguez
I think they're out of the bracket. There's a whole era of the 90s
King Howard
that was just about selectiveignorance.com.
Jason Rodriguez
all the records.
Mandy B.
There is no dot com.
King Howard
You better do it. I'm tagging us so we won't get straight.
Mandy B.
Calm down. I did. See, the thing is, for years, we are fine.
Jason Rodriguez
We survive.
King Howard
Now watch. All we need is one person that don't like this power.
Mandy B.
We are fine. These songs are not that big. We're not playing Beyonce. It's okay. And we have a whole episode playing Beyonce and it's still up.
King Howard
Classic Queens. I'm sorry, Queensbridge.
Mandy B.
That's it. That's the best. That's the best.
Jason Rodriguez
I would like to. If you're in the chat, if you're. If you're in the comments, please.
Mandy B.
If you're in the discord, if you're
Jason Rodriguez
in the discord, please. I know some of y' all in there know this song. Cause I see how some of y' all talk. So I know some of y' all in there nasty. Just tell us which of these two songs you think is the most classic between Kilo Ali, Loving your mouth.
Mandy B.
It's definitely.
King Howard
I think they both. I think both of them. I don't know. But I know enough to know that based on how you represent, if you
Jason Rodriguez
put this record on anywhere under the Mason Dixon line from Texas to South Carolina, people are gonna know exactly what this is.
King Howard
You must have moved to New York when that was popping.
Mandy B.
That was 98. I was seven. Okay. Sorry. I didn't know about dick sucking then. Okay.
Jason Rodriguez
You was young, listening to no nasty songs as a little kid.
Mandy B.
I was a little older. No, because as a little kid, it was Spice Girls. It was Spice girls for me. NSync, Backstreet Boys. Like, I didn't even realize how.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, so you kept it kosher. You wasn't even a center until, like,
Mandy B.
I didn't even realize how nasty Christina Aguilera was. I didn't know Jeannie in a Bottle was about masturbating or some shit. Gotta Rub Me the Ride With Honey
Jason Rodriguez
did that influence I'm a Genie in
King Howard
a Bottle did all of those songs
Mandy B.
Comin On Let Me out and talking about orgasm.
King Howard
But did those songs influence or have any type of inspiration to your sexual.
Mandy B.
No.
King Howard
Okay. No. So none of it but middle school.
Jason Rodriguez
So Pretty Ricky turned you out?
Mandy B.
What you said, well, no, you know, what's crazy? Pretty Ricky? And I talked about it.
Jason Rodriguez
I talked about it. That's where you got it from.
Mandy B.
You know what's crazy? Pretty Ricky became. Like, I was hunching by then.
Jason Rodriguez
Okay, so you. Yeah.
Mandy B.
But before then, no, Like, I think one of the. Like, I guess. I guess. Okay. Early Usher, My way. Usher was, to me. Ooh. Sexy.
Jason Rodriguez
Right?
Mandy B.
And I was young and I knew Usher, but for the most part, it was the boy band. Boy group.
King Howard
Girl group. So how did that influence you to your sexual journey?
Mandy B.
No, actually, I read books, believe it or not. Zayn, Sister Soul, Sarah, Vicki. Like, it was erotica that we were reading. And then again, if y' all go listen to the bonus episode last week with Kiki, it was message boards. Like, I was sitting at my dial up computer, like, sitting in a puddle of moisture.
King Howard
That was that theater. That was theater of the mind, man.
Jason Rodriguez
So music did not damage your soul or damage your psyche at all?
Mandy B.
No, which is why.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, we'll talk about that.
King Howard
We'll talk about it.
Jason Rodriguez
You think I was trying to get. Not here when she.
Mandy B.
We have an.
Jason Rodriguez
I'm right.
Mandy B.
We gonna get to it for our ignorant shit. Something was brought up right before the cameras and the mics turned on. Kamala Harris is allegedly. I mean, you rumored.
King Howard
Let's just say rumored for now.
Mandy B.
Rumored to be running again for president in the 2028 election.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, she met with some folks. She met with Mondame. She met with some other progressive. Probably some Democratic socialists, probably people on the further left wing of the party. And like you said, it's rumored right now, but it is building the speculation. Why would you meet with those people if you want.
King Howard
Yeah. Usually this is the precursor. Correct. I wonder what. I mean, obviously we know what inspires her at this point. Right. Because she did it. She knows. I would assume that she knows and understands what's ahead. And if anybody's strong enough to do it, why not?
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah.
King Howard
You know, the question always is, who's in the Democratic field? You know, that's viable enough. Right, Right. You have old boy from Newsom.
Jason Rodriguez
Gavin Newsom.
King Howard
Gavin Newsom.
Mandy B.
I don't know if people like him as much as.
King Howard
I'm just saying.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, he takes.
King Howard
Not the.
Mandy B.
You think he did?
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, I think he had a shot. The Democrats probably weren't gonna let him run against Biden last election, but I think before 2020 and even in 2016, I think he was building up goodwill. I think all the goodwill that he had, especially in California and nationwide I think that shit is out the window.
King Howard
Well, here's the thing. So now when we talking about. Let's just cut the bullshit, right? If we go back to that. Right. Are we in a position to. Course correct. Cause now it's a different state. It's a different. We've had four years of entering three or four years of this administration, you know, so is she the one in the party to just Bogart and just take the ball? Yes, I think so. We don't have time to be playing around and wondering if this new candidate from over here, who.
Mandy B.
I'll be honest with you, who. I think. Oh, y' all gonna hate me.
Jason Rodriguez
We can't.
King Howard
Mandy, we cannot play no more. At my point, we got Project 25. I'm sorry, we talking about.
Mandy B.
I'm saying it, and I'm.
King Howard
Look, the knife is in the chair, right? AKA all they're gonna do is go like this. I don't give a fuck. And put that knife in it.
Mandy B.
Really gonna do that to a black woman? I don't want.
Jason Rodriguez
So what?
Mandy B.
I don't want Kamala Harris running again. I want. I want.
King Howard
Would that stop you from participating?
Mandy B.
No. If she's who I have to vote for, that's where my vote is gonna go. But I don't want.
King Howard
But what if the playing field is tangible? But she's the best qualified.
Mandy B.
I'm telling you, she was the best qualified last time.
King Howard
Yeah, but now we under duress.
Jason Rodriguez
No, but here's the thing about it, though.
King Howard
We under duress, we can't go back the last election.
Jason Rodriguez
And this election are going to look totally different. Now, some of what she's doing right here is like, right now, literally right now, the Democratic Party has gassed up the machine, and they are currently infighting with Democratic Socialists.
King Howard
Of course, the far.
Jason Rodriguez
The far they've gone on this, where they are doing the cable news shows, they're all doing interviews, they're all talking about how dangerous this is and how you can't let these people have power, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. So all these people are against that. The people are trending upward towards supporting more DSA type candidates. Now, I'm not going to say that New York represents how the rest of America will vote. New York is a very specific place. But the fact that it's worked so
Mandy B.
well in New York City.
Jason Rodriguez
New York City. New York City is a very specific place. But I think what she's doing here is she's acknowledged the course correct for her is she's gotta come off of a lot of this shit that she wasn't strong enough on or silent about last time around.
King Howard
Correct.
Jason Rodriguez
And her meeting. Well, like specifically when you meeting with these type of people, the big issue is gonna be Israel, Gaza. Where do you stand on that? How do you message to people about this issue, American support for Israel, the money we're sending over there, the military for the whole thing, you're gonna have to answer for that in a different way than you did last time.
Mandy B.
Can I say something?
King Howard
White America, don't fuck with that.
Mandy B.
Can I say something again that might be a little problematic as well? So I had this conversation with a friend. The friend I know is listening and we were talking about these same conversations. And I honestly, personally, I do not, I'm not gonna say I don't care, but I think thinking that the biggest thing that the Democratic Party has to discuss or whoever's running for president, the biggest issue is where they stand on Israel and Gaza. Wait, it's not the biggest thing considering
King Howard
it'll be top four, considering top three, top ten.
Mandy B.
There is too much happening. Yes, one moment. Not in the fucking world. Too much happening right here on our own shoulders in terms of people not being able to afford housing. So we have, we are literally in a housing crisis right now. There's something called like the millennial house freeze, where you have the older and younger millennials right now that are dealing with being out priced for advancing their homes, the ones that started with starter homes and then people not being able to get into starter homes and just the market being crazy. Not only from a buyer market, from a renter's market. There's two income households that aren't making enough money to even pay. Then we do have the issue right now. To me, what's happen? We need some regulations out here because they're not only taking so many jobs, there's no jobs to counteract. So people are losing their jobs at an astronomical rate. Which, by the way, this is the first time I feel like in a long time to me since maybe 08, since the first the stock market crash and the real estate crash and the Depression and all of that, where it was constant conversations around unemployment rates. I know it's because of our administration, they're quiet as fuck. But the way that I have friends, six months, eight months, year and a half, applying, applying, applying Crickets, crickets. Not getting jobs. Then you have all of these government agencies that are supposed to be helping you, not losing applications, losing things. Like there's just too much right now. And then to me as well, with the World cup still going on, there's so many things happening in terms of how we're treating Americans, what we're doing with the naturalization of citizens, and there's just too many other things happening within our borders that I don't want the midterms or the next presidential election to lean on. Well, how do you feel about Gaza and Israel? And this isn't like coming from a super. Like, this is America. This is all I care about. It's coming from. There's so many matters here. We've been dealing with Gaza and Israel now for what, two years? I maybe a little bit more. Well, the genocide of it all.
King Howard
But the issue here is, though, man, I don't want to keep Israel. I know. I don't know other shit, of course, and none of us want to have to deal with this. But this is the problem.
Mandy B.
What has been. Take on it.
King Howard
This is the problem that they presented. Not yet.
Jason Rodriguez
I mean, no, no, no.
King Howard
This is all preliminary.
Jason Rodriguez
There's a corporate Democrat.
Mandy B.
Yeah, but I'm saying she talks. What is.
King Howard
Oh, you mean her.
Jason Rodriguez
No, what I'm saying is Kamala is in support of Israel. Kamala is in support of giving aid
Mandy B.
because she's in support of Israel.
Jason Rodriguez
Well, not in support of Israel as far as what they're doing to Gaza, but she's in support of Israel as a nation. But that's. That's what I was going to say, though. The problem is with all of that is that somewhat it's all connected because we're sit. We're using money, we're using resources, sending things over there. So that's all of that affects us because it's our money and it's big money. It's big, big, big, big money. Not no little money, mind you. Big bread.
Mandy B.
But, but, but. You ready? So in terms of even having that conversation, if this is her stance, outside
King Howard
of the money was we don't know what it is today.
Mandy B.
We don't. But outside of that, if that's. If that has been her stance, she's a black woman. Most black people that I have conversations with, whether they know what really started Israel and Palestine and all that, they're free. Palestine because it's a genocide.
Jason Rodriguez
Correct.
Mandy B.
And we have been within our own history, a part of a genocide. And so I don't think I've met one person, mind you. I'm sorry, I'm drinking Starbucks. So, yes, I'm looking like a hypocrite,
Jason Rodriguez
but the truth is still the truth.
Mandy B.
I mean, the truth is Israel is committing a genocide on a certain group of people, brown people, that. That if Kamala wants even the black vote, you can't stand with Israel and expect me to. I'm not gonna lie. I'm gonna say it now. If she gets up and runs.
King Howard
But she had the black vote already.
Mandy B.
One moment. My point. But if she stands up, runs again and says that she's siding with Israel, to me, I don't know. And I talk about this a lot. Where I align politically is very social. Like, fiscally, I'm gonna pay whatever tax I gotta do to make sure women can keep getting abortions, that we keep having rights, whatever works socially for my beliefs. That's where I'm gonna vote. If Kamala says, yo, we're gonna keep funding Israel in this, I'm not gonna lie. Kamala will not. She won't get my vote.
King Howard
She won't say that. But if she's gonna say, you know what she's gonna say, she does. She's not getting. A smart politician would say that they're interested in repairing their relationship with the international community.
Jason Rodriguez
But here's the thing about it, though.
Mandy B.
No one ever let you go for Melo and Lebron. You couldn't be fans of both.
King Howard
Well, yes, you can.
Mandy B.
No, no, no, no. When they first came out.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, yeah, that was the thing there was. It's Jay Z and Nas, it's Kendrick and Drake.
Mandy B.
Are you with is.
Jason Rodriguez
And that's going to be the thing about it. So.
King Howard
But no one ever is clear cut about that shit. Bromley was the one that. I mean, he's mayor.
Jason Rodriguez
But this is what I'm saying is she's starting the process now of trying to bake the cake. So that in. On July 1, 2026, when we get to December 2027, January 2028, she can. When she's on the campaign trail, she can say, at least I have this track record. I've been, you know, evangelized and I've talked to these people and I understand better. Now they're saying, and this is on foxnews.com I'm reading, she's met with Mandani AOC.
King Howard
AOC, yes.
Jason Rodriguez
And several pro Palestinian groups. So we know.
King Howard
And that's the early headline that came out before she even announced or if she's gonna announce that. Right. She's already setting the. The precedents for that conversation.
Jason Rodriguez
Right. So she has to convince us now, people thought that, you know, she was kind of funny style before. Now she has to convince people that this is real. She really stands on this. In addition to all the other, all the other aspects of things that you're talking about. Health care and affordability is going to be one and two on the list.
Mandy B.
It has to be.
Jason Rodriguez
But Israel and Gaza.
King Howard
Well, the economy.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, the whole thing. How people can live in this country having 40 hours a week jobs and not having to work three jobs. Well, they've been talking about moving into
Mandy B.
a four day work week here.
King Howard
I don't know if you saw. But how, but how when the economy. Look, I saw a report that came out. $180,000 in San Francisco is not enough anymore. Yeah.
Mandy B.
Are you ready? I just read if you are a single person, no kids, in order to live comfortably in any of the states. I know y', all, we ain't talking about middle America now. Sorry y'. All, we talking about the places where rent for a studio or one bedroom is 15, 18, 2000 plus.
Jason Rodriguez
Right.
Mandy B.
They are saying in order to live comfortably as a single individual, 104,000. Do you know 65. Used to get it done.
Unidentified Guest 1
Yeah.
Mandy B.
Easily income's at 65,000.
Jason Rodriguez
You were good.
Mandy B.
You were middle class and could afford to purchase.
Jason Rodriguez
Yep.
King Howard
Siri A home, two cars. Siri Q up. Spend that by young Miami and we're gonna. That's the blueprint.
Jason Rodriguez
But, but, but, but, but my Siri
King Howard
actually like, see, Siri is like, yo, it's urgent.
Jason Rodriguez
But, but, but that's part of the thing. We'll get into it. But like you wonder why people want to scam. You wonder why people want to steal. You wonder why people are ready to just do.
King Howard
Let's not use the word scam. Let's enhance our economic.
Jason Rodriguez
No, no, I'm talking stealing from the empire. I'm talking about stealing from corporations. I'm talking about crime.
King Howard
It is stealing or taking what's yours,
Jason Rodriguez
either way in the laws in the eyes of the Power to the people.
King Howard
Power to the people. Power to the people. Sure, sure.
Jason Rodriguez
But all I'm saying is that you want the people who have such criticism for this concept. You wonder why people feel that they might want to engage in such activities. But we'll get there.
Mandy B.
We'll get there.
King Howard
I used to sell cocaine once upon a time in the mob, right. It was cocaine.
Mandy B.
Selling drugs to me is different from
King Howard
scamming and boosting is still trying to enhance and have more financial fortitude.
Jason Rodriguez
I mean, I don't. What is the difference for you?
King Howard
It's the same. It's the same end game. It's the Same end game, though.
Mandy B.
Scamming is also stealing.
Jason Rodriguez
Stealing from who, though?
Mandy B.
No. So most scamming that I've been aware of and that I know of essentially is scamming from other people. So credit card scams, tax fraud, of course, the strips of like all of the things are stealing from individuals. So when we always talk about scamming and y' all talk about scamming the corporation or scamming the system, there's very few people and they always get caught like really quickly. Like the people that we talked about, the Amazon worker, the people that steal
Jason Rodriguez
within PPP loans, the whole thing.
Mandy B.
That doesn't happen as often as like the on the street scammers.
Unidentified Guest 1
Sure.
Mandy B.
The on the street scammers are stealing from old people.
Jason Rodriguez
Individuals. Yes.
King Howard
Well, that's not what we talking about. I'm talking about.
Mandy B.
Yeah, but so that's what I'm saying. Like y' all are talking about outliers. Majority of scammers steal from the modern day person.
King Howard
Nah, fuck them.
Unidentified Guest 1
Definitely.
Mandy B.
Older people and older people.
Jason Rodriguez
Older people get older and vulnerable.
Mandy B.
They're mostly actually the victims of scammers. It's not corporations as much, but I did want to get into for this is America, coming off of the fourth of July weekend, which I got to spend around a whole bunch of blackity blacks.
King Howard
What do you eat for July 4th, first off?
Mandy B.
I don't know. I was gumbo, red beans and rice,
King Howard
cornbread,
Mandy B.
gumbo, shrimp, crab legs and dick. That's what I had.
Jason Rodriguez
I tell you what, we don't. Not the glizzies, but we not eating macaroni salad. We not eating broccoli casserole, chargrilled oysters.
King Howard
It's too hot for broccoli casserole.
Jason Rodriguez
We not eating mayonnaise sandwiches. We not eating motherfucking. What else do white people eat?
Mandy B.
None of us.
King Howard
Everything.
Jason Rodriguez
Carrot salad.
King Howard
Carrot salad's crazy.
Jason Rodriguez
We're not eating none of that shit.
Mandy B.
Yeah. Nah. I was in New Orleans for Essence Fest, Shout out to Spill app and Care for the culture. They had me outside on the streets talking to the people. It was real nice. It was real nice. Y' all will see that content online soon.
King Howard
New Orleans. New Orleans.
Mandy B.
Anyways, I wanted to get into. We clearly just had the conversation a couple weeks ago around Juneteenth, which is the celebration of essentially our freedom here on this land. However, I wanted to explain why so many people, essentially black Americans, have mixed feelings about fourth of July. Now, of course, for me, growing up, Fourth of July was honestly barbecues and fireworks. Because for a lot of us, it's never really been about it hasn't been as tied to the country as like a Thanksgiving.
Unidentified Guest 1
Sure.
Jason Rodriguez
Okay.
Mandy B.
Thanksgiving to me leans more heavily into like the founding.
King Howard
Cause they represent something different for two different types of people.
Mandy B.
And it does. So for many black Americans, the Fourth of July is complicated. Their ancestors were still enslaved in 1776, which that's what we're celebrating essentially. And slavery continued for almost 90 years past that. So for some black families celebrating the holiday with food, fireworks and time together, they like to focus more on Juneteenth, which actually is the holiday marking the end of slavery in the US which took place in 1865. There's a book that I wanted to give, or I guess a speech from Frederick Douglass, and it's called what to the Slave is the Fourth of July. And a lot of people reference that as well.
King Howard
Motherfucking Day 1776 marks the establishment of the colonial power of the United States. It's very simple. We're not talking about the Americas prior to that. We're talking about the 250 years that they was able to rule over the United States of America Empire. Yeah, simple. So it's designed for a particular type of person and the descendants of those people from that time.
Mandy B.
I don't know.
King Howard
And we just here experiencing it because we all live here together. Them.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, I mean, I remember this was like probably shit. I bet this was like six, seven years ago now. It was for no reason at all. I was just thinking about this shit and I tweeted out, like, for me, it's always been like, seeing black patriotism has always been weird to me. It's always a little bit strange. Like people who. Black people who are gung ho about America, go. America fought in the wars, the whole type of thing.
King Howard
They fought in the wars, both my siblings did. And that's the part of it. Like, all right, yeah, it's fucked up, but we still gotta give honor to those people who held these niggas down.
Jason Rodriguez
But when I asked people about this, it was like the responses were pretty much generally, yeah, no, we didn't practice patriotism in our household. These are black people responding. We didn't have no American flag waving outside. We weren't weepy eyed at the national anthem. Like, these things weren't like sacred in our house. We had black Jesus on the wall and grandmama and granddaddy, like, that's who we honored in our house. But like, the idea of honoring America and loving America and having this deep patriotism I don't. I didn't grow up like that. Our house wasn't filled with, like, I hate America, but like, the idea of America wasn't thing that was talked about to be held sacred, to be like deeply emotional about in anywhere that I was in my house, in other people's house, my friend's house. I didn't know anybody like that.
Mandy B.
It's weird though, that you. Because not too much of patriotism, but in terms of black Americans. And I say this coming from living in Old Town Pajo 7, Chopper City, or even pep rallies. I didn't grow up being around many black Americans. Pep rallies. We all had our flags. So I'm bringing my Jamaican flag. You see the Haitian flag, you see the Dominican flag, you see the Puerto Rican, Mexico, Venezuela. Like, everyone wore flags whether they had even been to those countries or not. Right. However, what I have noticed with specifically black Americans over time is their loyalty to this country because of the brainwashing that this is the best country in the world, that so many people come here to create a better life. And it wasn't until maybe, I would say, 10, 15 years ago where the black tourism became a thing in other countries. We were in fear of all of these other countries thinking that they weren't safe. We were brainwashed to believe this was the safest country in the world. This was the wealthiest country in the world. This was. We had the best technology. We had the. And it wasn't until we. And when I say we, it's even just black people in America that hadn't stepped foot off the soil could actually learn that, oh, I was loyal to a place that lied to me. But I say that to say it's interesting what you're saying, because for so long, black Americans actually were super patriotic to this country and believed this to be the best, especially if they had no ties to other. To other countries.
King Howard
It's interesting.
Jason Rodriguez
Well, that's the thing too, is, like, I understand people who come from the standpoint of, like, people will say, well, our ancestors, like, bled to be free here. So. And why should I let. Why should I let them die so that other people can only lay claim to this land as their land, as the place where we're all Americans. We feel whatever we feel about America, we're all Americans. And when we travel, we're Americans, and we want. And we want to be treated as Americans. So when you come back to this
Mandy B.
motherfucker, I don't want to be treated like an American overseas.
Jason Rodriguez
They don't like us no, they don't like us.
Mandy B.
No, no, no.
Jason Rodriguez
But you don't want to get caught up being. You don't want to get caught up not being able to come back to this motherfucker because they're like, oh, you. Oh, yeah, no valid.
Mandy B.
But the treatment of Americans outside of this soil is not good. They think we're like, arrogant and bottom barrel. They think we bottom barrel.
King Howard
And that's because of the information that's been presented to them. Everyone has a different. So that doesn't help. But, but, but.
Mandy B.
And we ain't vote for that nigga.
King Howard
And that's the. And that's a distinction too. Right? It's like we don't represent that agenda. Right. But I think the world mass knows that. That there are people, mainly people of color.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, yeah.
King Howard
Who are doing this thing since the civil Rights. Since before then to fight the establishment, you know, just for decency.
Mandy B.
Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah. Well, I mean. And it's not. This isn't even a new concept, right? Like, I'm reading this book, this nonviolent Stuff Will get yout Killed by Charles E. Cobb. And it's talking. The book is about the role of firearms and the civil rights movement and Reconstruction in the Civil War and how black people had to protect themselves from white mobs. But in the book, he talks about this ongoing narrative, even at that time in the late 1800s and the early 1900s, about people who were debating World War I is going on, World War II is about to happen. Should we even be over there fighting when we have shit to deal with over here? And some people's attitude was, well, if Nazism is going on in Germany, Nazism in Germany is the white supremacy of America. Why shouldn't I go fight that? That's the ideology that he's kicking doesn't just apply to Germany. This is a worldwide.
King Howard
And if you conquer that, then if
Jason Rodriguez
you conquer that, you can find a. Conquer that. And he talks about how a lot of those soldiers, a lot of the Civil Rights movement and how we kind of got to this place of freedom is because soldiers went over there, start killing white men, and then came back over here and was like, well, if I can kill the crackers over there, I could damn sure kill some crackers over here. And so it empowered a lot of people to think about the world and geopolitics differently. But there were some people who also felt like we wasting our time going over there. Like some people would say, well, I don't care what's going on in Germany. I'm Trying to make sure right in Georgia because the KKK is killing us here. They're lynching us here. They're running up in our cribs and in our cities and our businesses and destroying ourselves.
King Howard
The fight is in multi place at one time.
Jason Rodriguez
And so this confrontation about America and what is America and who is American has always been a thing because of how they've done us. And it'll probably just stay that way. I don't see America ever making it right for us.
King Howard
Well, shout out to that new concert that supposed to go down or went down with the inside ball of the Trump administration. Donald Trump Jr. Has his whole. Oh, you didn't hear about that. He got his whole elite.
Unidentified Guest 1
Didn't it flop though?
King Howard
No, no, no.
Jason Rodriguez
Is that the same concert class?
King Howard
No, it's a different one. They found out. Whistleblower found out that it was a club, if you will, that has some of our favorite rappers.
Jason Rodriguez
Nelly was on that list. Ja Rule was on that. Listen, Rhymes was on that list.
King Howard
Continue. The big one hurts my heart.
Unidentified Guest 1
Who?
Mandy B.
Jay Z?
King Howard
No, no, it was ja rule's adversary.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, 50. Yeah, 50 was on that list.
Mandy B.
50.
Jason Rodriguez
50.
King Howard
Which is weird because they're both. Not all the New Yorkers, but it's both of them on the same team. It's like ja rule, wait.
Mandy B.
50 and ja wait.
Jason Rodriguez
According to the report, this is made
Mandy B.
by a white person that don't have.
King Howard
So Donald Trump Jr. Has an elite club. I think it's $500,000 to join this elite club. And they supposed to have like this concert, you know, to. It was supposed to be under wraps. It's supposed to be like a secret thing, right. And some whistleblower was like, nope, here it go.
Mandy B.
Cost 500,000.
King Howard
So the executive brink. So I wonder, up until the time that we're recording, we haven't heard any of the artists that's mentioned say anything. So the more that they don't say anything, the more that it seems valid. That's how I look at it.
Jason Rodriguez
Right?
Mandy B.
Well, no. Cause I don't know y' all algorithm.
King Howard
Because if you gotta pay $500,000 to join, that's a choice. That's not saying, yo, we want you here, we're gonna give you a fee. Right?
Mandy B.
Yeah.
King Howard
You're investing into something, into this thing. So until. Until they, you know.
Mandy B.
Yeah, I'm gonna wait to see. I'm gonna wait to see if this take place.
King Howard
I don't know, owned by somebody. Ahmed Malik, so he must be Saudi.
Jason Rodriguez
Somebody on Twitter was like, ja rule. And 50 Cent are gonna make peace to perform with Magna.
King Howard
Wow.
Jason Rodriguez
I was like, that's crazy, Yo.
King Howard
Honestly, that. Look, align yourself with who you want to align yourself with. But as a fan and as somebody who cares about our people, not saying that they don't.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, Timberland was on that list, too.
King Howard
Oh, yeah. That's what validated. Surprise, surprise. Oh, that shit is true. Yeah, yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
I don't know.
Mandy B.
That's nasty.
King Howard
500,000 is a lot. How much is a Soho House for the year? If you have 500,000, you would.
Mandy B.
No, hang with crackers.
Jason Rodriguez
Hang with them crackers.
King Howard
Think about it. If you spend $500 for membership, what's the. It gotta be some astronomical benefit.
Jason Rodriguez
You get to hang out with white people.
Mandy B.
You get access to the real illusion.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, yeah, yeah. To the richest white people in the world who think the mission is cool.
Mandy B.
Maybe you get to get on some PJs or something. Cause these niggas be paying money for the PJs. But those artists get caught in the economy.
King Howard
But, oh, yeah, Ja Rule got caught in economy.
Mandy B.
He did.
King Howard
Damn.
Mandy B.
That's what I'm saying. All these motherfuckers begin. No, he was in first class when he was arguing with Bleak. And him.
King Howard
But if he get to get on with Yale.
Jason Rodriguez
And murder.
Mandy B.
And murder. All right, well, anyways, let's get into, I don't know, Texas law.
King Howard
Cause why not Texas becoming Florida right now.
Mandy B.
No, Texas has been bad. Which is crazy, because Texas used to be like a more purple state, and now it's like, red is red is red.
King Howard
That shit is red as fuck.
Mandy B.
Red as shit.
King Howard
That's the real Pirus.
Mandy B.
So this is interesting. Yo, shut up. So this is very interesting, y'. All. Beginning with the 20, 30 and 31 school year, Texas public school students will be required to read passages from the Bible. After the Texas State Board of Education approved a new statewide reading list in a 9.5vote. Texas is reportedly the first state to require Bible passages as part of a mandatory reading curriculum for all public school students. The required reading list contains nearly 200 literary works like Noah's Ark, David and Goliath for younger students, while older students list includes Genesis, Psalm and the New Testament. Now, the Bible passages will also be incorporated into standardized testing. This is nuts.
Jason Rodriguez
Wow. That's standardized testing.
King Howard
So that means you're gonna have to
Mandy B.
study this shit dead ass. Which is insane to me.
Unidentified Guest 1
Wow.
Mandy B.
State leaders say the readings are intended to help students understand the Bible's influence on American history, literature and culture. The new curriculum stems from a 2023, Texas law requiring the state to create a mandatory reading list with literary works for every grade level.
King Howard
This is.
Mandy B.
Yeah.
King Howard
To me this sounds like this is the blueprint that justifies 2028, that justifies slavery.
Jason Rodriguez
How about that?
Mandy B.
Project 2028.
Jason Rodriguez
How about that?
Mandy B.
Yeah, yeah.
King Howard
One is Texas. I'm not surprised. Cause it's Texas. Right. The first US state to require. Usually when you have a first, you have a second. This is why these elections are important.
Mandy B.
I wouldn't doubt that Florida comes next. They've already removed critical of race theory. They've already said you can't say gay. There's been other.
King Howard
So there's a reason for this. Right. They use the Bible to set the precedents to how they behave amongst the non whites.
Mandy B.
Yeah.
King Howard
And a lot of. See, the Bible has many different interpretations.
Mandy B.
It does.
King Howard
It's very subjective.
Mandy B.
Well, they said the New Testament and
King Howard
specifically the New Testament.
Mandy B.
Specifically.
King Howard
And you know, a lot of the. A lot of the slavery rhetoric, you know, was that, you know, the Bible says that this was. Okay.
Mandy B.
Yeah.
King Howard
And I'm just summarizing. Right? And they had. It had certain passages and scriptures in there that just. That justifies in their land, the treatment. The treatment of non whites. It just reeks missionary. It just reeks colonial. Again.
Unidentified Guest 1
Again.
King Howard
This is why these elections matter. I know. For years, oh, I ain't gonna vote. Well, guess what, y'? All. They not playing. And the voting is the way. That is probably the most absolute way outside of. I think we should pay attention and try to reverse this. It says 2020, 2031, right? Yeah, that can be overruled at some point. And then what does that say? I don't know. But what if you ain't. So what?
Mandy B.
Unless they. Unless they wait for the midterms. Yeah.
King Howard
So what if you a Muslim living in Texas.
Mandy B.
That's what I'm saying.
King Howard
So what now that person has to move.
Mandy B.
What if you're Catholic?
King Howard
Are they gonna ostracize them people?
Jason Rodriguez
Agnostic, atheist.
King Howard
Well, Catholic is Christian adjace. So I think they're gonna be okay, maybe, but.
Mandy B.
Okay.
King Howard
Because the Bible. Cause the Bible is still.
Jason Rodriguez
But what if you're atheist. Sure.
Mandy B.
Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
If atheist is. What if you're Jewish. Anything else. It's like what there is outside of like white.
King Howard
They would have to read the Torah. They're not gonna discard the Torah for the Bible, right?
Mandy B.
No, but they're only. But that's what I'm saying.
King Howard
And it's in the curriculum. So then does that mean there's classes?
Unidentified Guest 1
No.
Mandy B.
Does that lead people then more so to get their kids into private. Which then just puts more money into private institutions.
King Howard
But you gotta make the money to be able to make that tuition.
Mandy B.
Cause my mama was never affording putting us in no goddamn private school. Not a never. I was getting my free lunch.
Jason Rodriguez
You said. Fuck what you talking about?
Mandy B.
I was getting my free lunch. Yeah. I don't know.
King Howard
This is another page out of the project.
Mandy B.
No, literally, Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
I mean what they want is to. They want America to be a white Christian nationalist entity. Like that is the goal at all times. When last week we talked about Megyn Kelly and I call her all kind of bitches because when she talked about Haiti and she talks about, you know, this is what we established. We established our land with our culture and our work ethic and our.
King Howard
That's the admission.
Jason Rodriguez
And so they don't assimilate, they don't do. Like they saying it out loud. It's not even like low key like they're saying. If you come here, this is what you need to be down with. You need to be down with this Christianity. You need to be down with this. She doesn't read the Bible. She doesn't read the. Stop. But like they.
Mandy B.
But wait, can I ask y', all. Y' all saying that, what does that mean? She doesn't read the Bible?
King Howard
I don't believe she do. That's just.
Mandy B.
But what does that mean?
Jason Rodriguez
Well, to me it just means if you're, if you're purporting this is supposed to be a Christian land and this is supposed to be all the things that make America America, and you're so invested in that. Why don't you. Why aren't you invested in the book that is supposedly giving you all of
Mandy B.
your morals and ideals, even from a moral standing? The book is subjective. And the way that.
Jason Rodriguez
Not to them it isn't, but the way that.
Mandy B.
But it is.
Jason Rodriguez
It is.
Mandy B.
It is.
Jason Rodriguez
But it's not to them.
King Howard
It's not patriarchy.
Mandy B.
The word. The way that they interpret what the Bible says and how they can move about and what will get them into the gates of heaven are completely different than how African Americans or Latino American like interpret it, which has always been my problem. If we're leaning into this to give a pass as to why slavery and things like that and how we operate
King Howard
in place of this country, I always,
Mandy B.
for the fucking life of me don't understand how we adopted the same religious like this religion.
Jason Rodriguez
Well, I don't think it was. I think at the time, it was more survival than anything.
Mandy B.
While we still got black churches in the black community.
King Howard
No, no, no, no, no. Interpretation is different.
Mandy B.
And that's.
King Howard
And I think we can't lose sight of that. Interpretation of the Bible is totally different.
Mandy B.
So are the Bibles.
King Howard
There's a lot of stuff that they ignore that non whites don't ignore, that they unpack shit. Right. They have annexes to the Bible explaining, you know, what these passages mean and give context. They're just taking it as value.
Mandy B.
I'm gonna be very curious.
King Howard
And we don't know what version are they going by. The King James or the King Thames? Or the fucking King Thames Santa Maria. Like, which version of this shit.
Mandy B.
I'm curious. That's how the teachers choose to go through the lesson plan.
King Howard
Well, how they gonna know they're gonna be different? That means you're gonna have. You know how they have secret choppers.
Mandy B.
We're talking about interpretation. A king.
King Howard
Yeah.
Mandy B.
There's gonna be. Oh, different teachings of this even.
King Howard
No, they're gonna give a guideline as to what you get.
Jason Rodriguez
They're gonna tell them. They're gonna tell them.
King Howard
Focus on this.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah.
King Howard
And this is gonna be the thing for the next 10 years.
Jason Rodriguez
The statement, rinse and repeat. When the. When these curriculums come out. These curriculums are established by the school board. And so when they agree on what
King Howard
this is in these towns, they're gonna
Jason Rodriguez
be told, Linda McMahon. They're gonna be told what this curriculum is. And there's probably gonna be a lot of teachers who are going to ignore this shit and probably get fired. There's probably gonna be some teachers.
Mandy B.
That's what I'm thinking.
Jason Rodriguez
Do their own thing with it.
King Howard
And someone snitches or they're gonna come in, the ones who are with the program.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah. They're gonna push it down.
King Howard
There are a lot of people with the program and. All right, let me do this. That's the scary part. I don't know. Yo, Texas, holla at us in the chat. What y' all thinking about this? Dallas, Houston, Austin, Waco, Corpus Christi, Killeen, Fort Hood, Fort. All of the forts.
Jason Rodriguez
All of the forts. They got a lot of forts in
King Howard
Texas, which is another don't demolish.
Mandy B.
Well, those are military bases.
King Howard
So when you do that to the educational system, you also. That impacts the military too.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, yeah, I'm sure. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they push this same thing into the military. Into the military. Yeah. We start seeing news about that.
Mandy B.
All right, well, we're Going from Texas to Michigan, babe.
Jason Rodriguez
Up north.
Mandy B.
Listen, a Michigan. Now real quick, this is where it might get a little ignorant. We might. I don't know where we're gonna align on this here, but let's get into it.
King Howard
Yo, this is crazy.
Mandy B.
So a Michigan couple is facing charges after their 7 year old son died weighing 255 pounds. So the case began last year when a 911 call was made for Casper O', Brien, a young boy in distress. He was rushed to the hospital and later died. Well, soon after, the county prosecutor charged 40 year old Damion and 41 year old Jessica with second degree murder, child abuse and torture. Why? Well, according to officials, the cause of death was dilated cardiomyopathy, which leads to heart failure with morbid obesity listed as the contributing factor. Now, Casper weighed 255 pounds at 42 inches tall. The CDC notes a healthy weight range for a seven year old boy of that height is generally 50 to 73 pounds. So he was like five times the weight, Leighton says. And Leighton being the prosecutor, he says that that is obesity. This child did not have a pediatrician, was only taken to the doctor, I believe, according to the police report, once. And that was despite the father having a stable job and the family having health insurance. To make matters worse, authorities say the boy, along with his five year old siblings was not enrolled in school.
King Howard
Oh.
Mandy B.
They are currently being held on no bond and are due back in court next month. Now, I brought this up because we had an interesting conversation around whether or not the principals in schools that have school shootings, whether or not they should be responsible.
King Howard
Right.
Mandy B.
In this case, I'm curious your thoughts because y' all see the photo of the parents, right?
King Howard
Don't judge a book by its cover.
Mandy B.
No, they're fat.
King Howard
Don't judge a book by its cover.
Mandy B.
They're obese. No, no, no. They're obese.
King Howard
I'm just messing with you.
Jason Rodriguez
So this is the lifestyle that they live too, right?
Mandy B.
This is the lifestyle.
King Howard
Well, you just the part that.
Mandy B.
There's also genetics.
King Howard
The kids are not enrolled in school. That's neglect.
Mandy B.
But not that part.
King Howard
But going to the doctor one time.
Mandy B.
But then there's. You know what's crazy? And I can't remember. I don't know if you could look it up there. Oh, in the state of Georgia. Actually, it's a new law in the state of Georgia that you can't call truancy for any amount of absences anymore for kids or something like that.
Jason Rodriguez
Shit.
King Howard
Try that in New York.
Mandy B.
I Say all of that to say, do you believe that these parents should be charged for murder, child abuse, and torture? Those three charges of specifically why or why not murder, I will say, and I'm just gonna stand on it.
King Howard
Murder.
Mandy B.
I do not think they should be charged with torture. I do not think they should be charged with murder. Child abuse, sure.
King Howard
Neglect.
Mandy B.
Child neglect, yes.
King Howard
Yeah.
Mandy B.
I say that because from someone who's been obese, from looking at the picture of the parents, there's genetic reasons why people come in big. Food is not just the buy all, be all as to why kids are big. Secondly, depending on what type of money they made.
Jason Rodriguez
Mm.
Mandy B.
Mm. Even when I was an adult working for myself living in the Bronx, I would like to know what place they lived in and their proximity to healthy foods. And I say that because we talk about so much all the time how even within the black community, blood pressure,
King Howard
all the things that we eat, bullshit.
Mandy B.
But that's what's available to us as well. And so from a socioeconomic place, I'm curious as to what vegetables they had access to, what healthy options they had access to, what foods were within their proximity.
Unidentified Guest 1
The fast food is cheaper than the healthy food.
Mandy B.
It's cheaper. And then that's another thing, right? He clearly wasn't being starved. Starved, but what. He wasn't.
King Howard
All right.
Mandy B.
I mean, he wasn't.
King Howard
Rest in peace, RIP Grace. Let's bring Grace into the chat.
Mandy B.
I'm talking about from the lens of torture.
King Howard
Well, the parents clearly was. They experienced self neglect and they were torturing themselves because this is a long pattern of them being unhealthy that just passed down to their kids because they're not seeing the. What's the word I'm looking for? They're not trying to intervene and course correct this.
Mandy B.
Well, because they don't see obesity as an issue, which, let's be very clear. Last week we talked about it. Obesity is body positivity for a lot of people. A lot of people believe themselves to be healthy and big. So if they saw no problem with their son getting that big look at them, they didn't have that issue either. And when we look at a lot of our own community, especially in the South, I'm back down here. It's way different than what we see in New York. In New York, you're forced to walk to a lot of places in the South. Obesity is like a common thing that also within our own community, we believe to be outdated. Because if you look at the BMI chart, oh, babe, I'm obese.
Jason Rodriguez
Most 90% of people are obese based on that.
King Howard
You're obese
Mandy B.
based on that chart. Right. So to me, for parents to be charged with murder because of an.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, I mean, so I don't know if there's details that aren't in this story that maybe we're missing. So I'm looking at the penal code 75317 in Michigan that defines second degree murder. Second degree murder is still intentional killing, not premeditated. You basically have to prove that your actions caused the death of the victim. It was intended to kill the victim or do great bodily harm, wanton or wolf or disregard. And the action would naturally tend to cause death or great bodily harm.
Mandy B.
And see, that's not fair. There's a five year old that probably is they all big.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah. I think that the neglect, it wasn't intentional. I think you can make a great case for neglect. You can make a great case for probably child abuse to some degree. Not having.
Mandy B.
That's why I'm mad that the second degree murder.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, the second degree murder was added. Yeah. To me second degree murder sounds like something that the state charged to make a bigger spectacle of this because I don't see any way that in court that it holds up even this.
Mandy B.
One of the child abuse charges, by the way, is in connection to the sister. When authorities responded to the Michigan home last year, they found the five year old girl dirty with knots in her hair and morbidly overweight. Do you want to know where I'm going with this? And I'm curious. Hear me out. We had the conversation around certain people with mental health disabilities procreating outside of obesity. I'm curious if there's also any other mental health issues stuff going on. Say it's autism, say it's adhd, say it's something that would also make you to believe that cleanliness. Like some people don't see a problem with uncleanliness. Yeah. I mean some people don't see a problem with gluttony. We talked about that last week. But with over excessive eating, these things are normalized in so many households that I don't think they view it as even neglect or abuse.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah. Now granted, a seven year old that's 255 pounds is crazy.
Mandy B.
That's crazy.
Jason Rodriguez
An average seven year old is probably
Mandy B.
like 50 to 70.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, 50 to 70 pounds. So it's like, okay, something is clearly going on here. Now again to your point, did this mother or father have issues going on? Do they have mental health issues? You know, a lot of times when you see people who are hoarders, you see these houses, the hoarders being cleaned out, usually there's something going on there that's not just someone who's just too lazy to clean their house.
Mandy B.
And I wanna see the next. Maybe she was trying to give the girl locks. What? I'm just saying, maybe they was, you know, dressed up.
Jason Rodriguez
Maybe that's what it was.
Mandy B.
Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
Maybe they was listening to Vibes Cartel all day in their house and they were just like, you know, by the
Mandy B.
way, these are white people we're talking about.
Jason Rodriguez
But, yeah, I don't see how the second degree murder thing holds up at all. I feel like that's something that the prosecutor was just like, hey, we're going to make a splash and we're going to get this case in front of all the newspapers. Because when they see second degree murder of a five year old who's obese,
Mandy B.
a seven year old, adding to it, cnn. Thank you for doing the research over there. I'm about to call you the researcher. So. So according to police, they actually did suspect that this little boy had autism and he was nonverbal.
Jason Rodriguez
Mm.
Mandy B.
Casper wasn't enrolled in school last year. But that's another thing. I have people within my life that have autistic children.
Unidentified Guest 1
And it's my brother's nonverbal autistic child.
Mandy B.
And it costs money to get them into the right schools, the right classes. Sometimes you're put on waiting lists and sometimes you make it worse by putting them in those public school environments because they can be violent. They can be. And you want to be able to send your child somewhere where they can tell you what's happening to them. Right. So this is difficult because also, a lot of times outside of obesity, autism is passed down as well. It's genetic. So that's what I'm saying. Maybe these parents are also on a spectrum that they're not able to see that anything is wrong here.
King Howard
Yeah.
Mandy B.
And so, yeah, thank you for looking that up. Cause, yeah, that's why I'm like, this gets tricky. This gets tricky. And I just hate that we're gonna teeter the line on this, only because I know obesity is something that directly affects our community a lot.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, yeah. And also just the idea that, like, again, we're talking about a child, so I'm not gonna say it's apples to apples, but the idea of policing obesity to the point that if you are obese, then the person who is responsible for your obesity, if you die, that person might be Charged with murder, by the way.
Mandy B.
I want y' all to watch Big Girls Wanted on hbo because two of the women on the show passed away.
Jason Rodriguez
It's a reality show.
Mandy B.
It's a reality show about a cult that wasn't a cult. Big bitches saying they was allegedly molested. I don't know. It was a lot.
Unidentified Guest 1
It was a lot.
Jason Rodriguez
It was a documentary.
Mandy B.
It was a documentary. It's on hbo, Max. I believe it's three episodes.
Jason Rodriguez
Big Girls wanted.
Mandy B.
Big girls wanted. Welcome to paradise. And one of the women actually reached in excess of 500 pounds, and she was on OnlyFans. And the kink was feeders. So feeders will buy your food and pay to watch you eat. And so there was a conversation around this kink. Also.
Jason Rodriguez
Feeders is a crazy term.
Mandy B.
Feeders.
Jason Rodriguez
Like, it's not a zoo. This isn't Sea World. Like, what the fuck you talking about? Feeders?
King Howard
That's crazy.
Mandy B.
And you know what's crazy? Didn't know, but y' all know the mukbangs. Mukbang. Mukbang. I don't know. I always want to say it like that. Mukbang.
Unidentified Guest 1
Mukbangs.
Mandy B.
Mukbangs are actually a part of feederism.
Jason Rodriguez
I can see that.
Mandy B.
So people that eat and do all the asmr. There's actually people on the other side of that phone or computer getting rock hard.
Jason Rodriguez
Getting rock hard to that shit.
Mandy B.
Yeah. So crazy. We can't have anything.
Jason Rodriguez
See, that's the kink we should shame.
Mandy B.
Wait, we should hang. Mukbanging?
Jason Rodriguez
No.
Mandy B.
Feederism.
Jason Rodriguez
Yes, we should shame. Feederism.
Mandy B.
Why I need to know. Talk to me.
Jason Rodriguez
Because, like, you're basically animalizing the person that you're doing that you're getting off on. Like, what is supposed to be.
King Howard
That's no one's business, though.
Jason Rodriguez
It's the person who might die.
Mandy B.
I ain't gonna hold you. If I could get king crab legs and oxtail for the free. And a n gonna pay me to watch me slurp a bone. Oh, I'm taking it.
Jason Rodriguez
But once you get to the point where you're £500 and somebody is paying you money to eat the worst shit for you, that's gonna make you probably die or at least be sick. Like, you can do whatever you want to with your sexuality. To me, that's not no sexual shit. That's like you have a sickness and seven deadly sins.
Unidentified Guest 1
Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
Like, that's not like if you want to fuck a tentacle. If you want a motherfucking, get a golden shower. If you want a motherfucking have bukkake? You want to do whatever you want to do, that's fine.
King Howard
Is that bukkake or bukkaki?
Mandy B.
Bukkake.
Jason Rodriguez
Bukkake.
King Howard
Wow.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah. Whatever you want to do, that's fine. I don't care about that. But this feels a little bit like you seen the movie Seven with Brad
Mandy B.
Pitt and working Freeman?
Jason Rodriguez
It feels a little bit like that to me. You kind of feel like a serial killer if you a motherfucker.
Mandy B.
If you paying people look. But see, you wanna see where the line is blurred. So what if you just a big bitch going on a date and the man is paying for the food sitting across from you, and y' all are just watching each other eat.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, that's fine.
Mandy B.
So now big bitches can't go on dates? Is that. Is that what you're saying?
Jason Rodriguez
They can go on all the dates they want to. All the Shoney's, all the bonanzas, all the Ponderosas. Is Ponderosa. Even the thing?
King Howard
No more.
Jason Rodriguez
That's old school.
Mandy B.
I don't think Ponderosa's open.
Jason Rodriguez
I don't think Ponderosa's open no more.
Mandy B.
I think in Georgia it is.
Jason Rodriguez
I can see there being one in Georgia somewhere.
Mandy B.
Oh, no, wait, y' all got Piccadilly.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, yeah, Piccadilly's still here.
Mandy B.
It's a Piccadilly.
Jason Rodriguez
But that's old people. That's like retirement home Piccadilly.
Mandy B.
Got the same food as Golden Corral,
King Howard
Crate and Barrel, all the same shit.
Mandy B.
Crate and Barrel. Well, Crate and Barrel, you at least
King Howard
get some Cracker Barrel, not Cracker Barrel, Same shit.
Jason Rodriguez
Cracker Barrel is a menu.
King Howard
Wait, you know what's so crazy?
Mandy B.
Uh.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh.
King Howard
Why does that establishment even exist down here? Cracker Barrel. Yeah, Cracker Barrel.
Mandy B.
You don't like the name?
King Howard
Well, they don't like to be called crackers.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, I was gonna say, like, I
King Howard
had a barrel, but they leaning into Cracker Barrel.
Mandy B.
Wait, wait, wait, wait. Cracker Barrel is about the crackers.
King Howard
Like, it's not. But I mean, it's not. But I mean, like, it's the interpretation of the Bible, right?
Unidentified Guest 1
Like two different interpretations of Cracker Barrel is like a man.
Mandy B.
No, no, they just changed the logo because apparently it was rice.
Jason Rodriguez
I think they changed it back. I think they changed it back.
King Howard
Hold on.
Mandy B.
Cracker Barrel gets its name from the wooden barrels used to ship soda crackers to old fashioned Southern general stores. I feel bad.
Jason Rodriguez
No, but like, when you walk
King Howard
Cracker narrow.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, but. But also, when a nigga walks in, cracker Barrel.
King Howard
A nigga at Cracker Barrel.
Jason Rodriguez
You see? Imagine.
King Howard
Imagine a documentary. Yo, you gonna watch that? A nigga in Cracker Barrel. You gonna automatically think, racial tension.
Mandy B.
I'm not gonna do it. I used to love Cracker Barrel. They're bread and butter. Oh, no.
Jason Rodriguez
I've had great meals at Cracker Barrel,
Mandy B.
and you get to just throw your peanut, your peanut seeds on the floor.
Jason Rodriguez
But, you know, my thing has always been like.
Mandy B.
You ain't never been, have you? Just like a New Yorker. Tyler, here's the thing.
Jason Rodriguez
You talking about interpretation of the Bible.
Mandy B.
I don't have a problem with putting
Jason Rodriguez
crackers in the barrel. I would love to put. I would love to put a bunch of crackers in the barrel and kick they ass off Niagara Falls or something like. I don't have a problem with that.
Mandy B.
He said, let's put the crackers in the barrel.
King Howard
I can see the meme, too.
Jason Rodriguez
It would be a great meme.
King Howard
We love everybody.
Jason Rodriguez
The great Cracker Barrel roll.
King Howard
So you're telling me this guy.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mandy B.
He was deadly racist.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah.
King Howard
How do we know?
Jason Rodriguez
Allegedly. Allegedly.
King Howard
We don't want to put him on.
Jason Rodriguez
We don't want to put him on at him.
King Howard
They say don't judge your book by his name.
Mandy B.
Her, we got to look at. His name was hersel.
King Howard
He grew up where he grew up at.
Mandy B.
He had slaves.
Jason Rodriguez
What's. What's his last name?
King Howard
Her overalls don't help either. He ain't be an allegation.
Jason Rodriguez
He got that. He got that whipping smile on his face.
King Howard
That whipping smile.
Jason Rodriguez
Get the out.
Mandy B.
He was crazy like a whipping.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, look at his face. That's a whipping smile if I ever seen one.
King Howard
Let me see where he from. Where he from?
Mandy B.
Where is he from?
King Howard
Resident researcher. What's his name?
Jason Rodriguez
Uncle Hershel.
Mandy B.
I don't know. He was just the ambassador, y'. All. Let's let him live. I don't know. I don't know. Y' all tricky. Let's get into celebrities. Save the darndest things. I don't know why we gotta keep bringing up this bitch, but she be saying some shit that gets my gears going, though. I ain't gonna hold you.
Jason Rodriguez
It's always something.
Mandy B.
Amber Rose recently sat on the Truth After Dark podcast with my girl Azar and my homie Paul Pier. And this is what she had to say. I never tell my kids they have to work 10 times harder because they're black. Yeah. You have to work just as hard as everyone else. And if you want to be. If you Want to be better, you know, like, let's say the NBA for an example. If you want to be like a real all star. Yeah. You got to work harder. Yeah. But you have to work just as hard as everybody else. Your skin color in America is not financial to stop you from being great. I ain't trying to hear none of that shit. We live in a free country. You can be whoever the fuck you want to be. And I never tell my kids.
Jason Rodriguez
Sound like she drank the juice to me.
Mandy B.
That's what it sound like to you?
Jason Rodriguez
Sound like she drank all the juice.
King Howard
It was all good until she said that last line.
Mandy B.
What part did you not like?
King Howard
Your skin color is not gonna stop you from being great. Now, theoretically, it shouldn't. Theoretically.
Mandy B.
Where in the world.
King Howard
But we're not in theoretically.
Mandy B.
The theory has not existed ever in
King Howard
the history of the world. If the playing cards was even, of course. But they're not. And I think that's what she's doing here is she's trying to ignore that reality of it. Like there's no harsh realities as it pertains to a black American.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah.
King Howard
You know, that's her kid is. The reality of it is her kid is not gonna be based on what we know. They're not gonna have to struggle because her parents are well off. So they already got a leg up. Or emotional.
Mandy B.
But no, that doesn't even matter. It brings me back to how upset I was at A$AP Rocky when he act like BLM and the unfair justice system didn't apply to him. Cause he lived in Calabasas.
Jason Rodriguez
Right.
Mandy B.
You know what I mean? Like at the end of the day, you could be. You could go to school, you could get your degrees. You could be this. There's still gonna be an effect on everything about your life. Walking around with darker skin like it just is. And I don't know. And unfortunately, there is also the scale of colorism. I don't know how bright her children are. Like, I haven't seen photos of her children. Children recently. So I don't know if she's coming from a light skinned privileged lens or not. As someone who has been able to have privilege as a white passing, biracial woman. But I'm curious as to why she doesn't. After experiencing everything we have with blm, seeing how black men are treated in this country, why she would think that their skin isn't going to affect them.
Jason Rodriguez
I mean, I guess I don't understand.
Mandy B.
Like, bro Sebastian is a black boy.
King Howard
Yeah. Like we know.
Mandy B.
Or Bash is That his name, Bash?
Jason Rodriguez
Well, his name is Sebastian. Sebastian? Yeah, they call him.
Unidentified Guest 1
And then.
Mandy B.
What's the other kid? I don't know, but I know she had it on her forehead.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, I'm gonna say I don't know
Mandy B.
his name, but it's on her goddamn forehead.
Jason Rodriguez
I thought Sebastian was on her forehead.
Mandy B.
No. Slash. Slash.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, slash.
Mandy B.
So she got Slash and Sebastian. Okay. Yep. Slash and Bash.
Jason Rodriguez
It's just weird to me to even. Well, I guess not weird for her. Cause I don't consider her particularly smart
King Howard
about these type of topics.
Jason Rodriguez
But, like, we know there's racism and we know that there's a lot of white people in America. I know we had our debate about how many of us are actually here. But I think we can agree that we're all. There's more white people here. Especially in places of power where they have insulated themselves from having to. Even with black people. But, like, why would you say that
Mandy B.
you don't have to work as hard?
Jason Rodriguez
Huh?
Mandy B.
Why would you say we don't have to work as hard as.
Jason Rodriguez
It doesn't matter. Yeah, like, everyone has to work hard if you want to get what you want to get in this life. But working hard isn't the only thing that is going to make someone be successful.
Mandy B.
We know the hardest working people are at the bottom.
Jason Rodriguez
You might be hardworking. You might be coming from your third job at 80 hours a week and get killed by the police.
Mandy B.
Facts.
Jason Rodriguez
All your hard work won't stop a nigga from killing you. When they beat Rodney King up. They didn't beat Rodney King up in fucking Compton. Or they beat Rodney King in a suburban area of Los Angeles.
King Howard
Yep.
Mandy B.
Like, Trayvon Martin's family was well off. They were living in a great neighborhood,
Jason Rodriguez
in a nice neighborhood.
Mandy B.
And he couldn't even walk in the neighborhood as a black boy. What are we talking.
Jason Rodriguez
What are we talking about?
King Howard
Also, too. You know how many videos, Even in my YouTube algorithm, I'll see a video of, like, you know, FBI agent getting stopped by a black FBI agent getting stopped by police. And before he interacts with them and let them know that who he is, he lets it play out. And then when they find out, oh, shit, this guy is a big, big fed, then narrative changed.
Mandy B.
Y' all ready?
King Howard
But you know why they stopped him?
Mandy B.
Ryan Coogler was not even able to withdraw money at the bank. Oh, my own brand.
King Howard
After verifying who he was.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, gave him.
King Howard
And he did the right. He just gave the note because he can't be like, as a black man, Hey, I want my $10,000, right? Cause they're gonna be like, whoa, whoa,
Jason Rodriguez
whoa, I gave you a note and my id. They gonna be like, that's who I am.
King Howard
Or they might be like, you lying, you brokey. Prove it, right? So now he proved it like, yo,
Jason Rodriguez
here, here's who I am.
King Howard
That's not enough, right?
Mandy B.
And I will say in terms of acceleration, even in the corporate spaces, it's why you're pushed to go to an hbcu. It's why you're pushed to pledge to any of the Greek organization.
King Howard
It's because minus the hazen, if one
Mandy B.
person can get in, hopefully they're gonna bring you with them. Because no, when they are looking at those resumes to get into certain jobs, they're looking at the first name like I have. Like even so Crystal. It's so funny even moving into Brooklyn and doing real estate when we lived in New York. She has a very Jewish last name and she used to talk about how surprised they were when she would come to and she was like, oh, I know they wasn't expecting my black ass.
King Howard
She walking in like, gotcha bitch, gotcha bitch, gotcha bitch.
Mandy B.
And so like this conversation that like, you know, you could do anything and I just think you gotta work hard and be great, like, get the fuck outta here.
Jason Rodriguez
There's a viral video going around right now that I watch of a black woman. She's in tech and she's in it. And she was talking about how she got a referral from somebody. Hey, I think this company is looking for, you know, someone in this space. It's not exactly what you do, but you should go for this job. So she says she goes through the interview process and it is a viral, I mean a digital interview process.
Mandy B.
Okay?
Jason Rodriguez
So she said when she was doing it, she didn't have her camera on. The people who were there didn't really require her to have her camera on. But she said she did three interviews, amazing interviews, like busting it up with people. She said it got to the point where they're talking about their favorite animes and all kind of just, just regular personal shit, butt kicking it. And I guess her headhunter or whatever hit her back like, yo, you're pretty much a shoe in for this gig. Like they're gonna make you an offer. She said they want to do. They want to see you though. They want to get to know you a little bit better, not they want to see you. So she said she got to the interview and she said the whole thing was Different. They were dry. There was no Kiki in. There was no personal interaction. All the enthusiasm that they had previously didn't have.
King Howard
No.
Jason Rodriguez
So she said she hit up her Asian homie and was like, hey, you should go out for this job, because I think they want somebody Asian. And he was like, how do you know that? She was just like, I just think they would rather have somebody Asian. And she went for the job and called her back, like, a week later, was like, yeah, hire me. I'm starting tomorrow. Whoopi.
Mandy B.
Whoopee. Whoopee.
Unidentified Guest 1
Damn.
Jason Rodriguez
Damn. And she was. She said she wasn't even tripping. Cause, you know, her friend got the job. But it's like, that's the kind of shit that exists in this country. Identity politics. Identity politics.
King Howard
You know what's interesting? That lady who got, you know, who lost her job from JP Morgan for the. For the Knicks. I wonder who's gonna take that. Her position.
Mandy B.
Nobody. DEI has done for them. That was their way to clear out dei.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah. But I would be surprised if they even filled that position.
Mandy B.
Filled that position again.
Jason Rodriguez
Her office would probably be dark years
Mandy B.
out, the whole filing.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah. Yeah.
King Howard
I would buy the garbage can and just leave it in that area in memory of. Shit is crazy. But again, it's Amber, though. Let's be honest.
Mandy B.
Yeah, it's Amber.
King Howard
We should not.
Mandy B.
She's ultra conservative, but there's a lot of people that probably.
King Howard
I know, but sure. But she's ultra conservative, so we should not expect anything less than these type of talking points.
Mandy B.
All I know is when I went through college, I knew I had to work harder. I knew I had to get into Napa. I was a part of the national association for Black Accountants. I knew my grades had to be top tier. I knew I had to study abroad so that I could have, you know, experience with other cultures. Like, I mean, bitch, I'm from Orlando, lived in Atlanta, then moved to the Bronx. Like, I knew I had to, like, find a way to be around others. Like, I actually was a lot of my whole life, a part of my, like, minority groups. That's it. And so part of me was like, oh, shit, I gotta learn how to work with Asians and whites if I'm going into fucking finance and accounting in New York City. And so for me, knowing I had to, like, do everything right, it was interesting because when I first started at Ernst and Young, there was two of us. Shout out to Andrew. Me and Andrew. We were the only black people on our whole team. We were on the team for state
Jason Rodriguez
tax out of how many people? Roughly?
Mandy B.
I would say our team was roughly 16. One partner, probably four supervising managers. The one manager ain't like me, the Asian lady. And then we were all like staff one and two accountants. Okay, so probably like 16. And we were the only two.
Jason Rodriguez
So that's 12%, 11 and a half percent. 12% of the team.
Mandy B.
And we both were a part of naba. And I'll never forget it. First quarter reviews came around and I was never late. Showed up on time, all these things, and they like got at me for not sleeping under the desk. They felt like I wasn't working hard. I would be there till 3am by the way, right? Be there at 9 while everyone else got to mosey on in at 10:30. And there was a guy that sat in my office, he had been there for two or three years, Jewish guy, not to talk about.
Jason Rodriguez
I was like, oh, here we go.
Mandy B.
But showed up late, didn't talk to nobody. And when I tell you his reviews came and went stellar every time. Did he get the promotions and things out? But did anybody in the office point out to him that he was coming late, that he stunk, that he was dirty? Niggas didn't even tell him to clean his desk. And I was just like, oh, wow. But how I had to show up, how Andrew had to show up was a lot different. We had to come in, tidied up, like, we had to dress a certain way, we had to show up, hair had to be a certain way, right? And this man could just sit, come in, dirty stains on his shirt. And nobody ever said anything to him. And it was very clear like, okay, he's gonna get to work here forever long. He wants to, but it's gonna be different for us.
Jason Rodriguez
I wonder, Sebastian now is probably what, 11, 11, 12, something like that. I wonder when he turns 16, is Amber gonna have the talk with him?
Mandy B.
I think Wiz will have to talk with him. Luckily he does have a black father that is still present in his life
Jason Rodriguez
that can speak to the real shit. I don't know.
Mandy B.
She's not gonna be the one to have that talk. It's gonna have to be Wiz.
Jason Rodriguez
Cause like Amber, what's she gonna do? You're gonna go tell your 16 year old son, oh, don't worry about the police. The police are your friends. So police won't do anything to you.
King Howard
What's his name? Cash?
Mandy B.
Bash.
Jason Rodriguez
Bash Bash.
King Howard
Yeah, there's a video. I wish we had this in the clip. But for those at home, if you're Listening. There's a video interaction with Wiz and Bash. Bash is at the mall, and he runs into or he sees somebody he's been having issues with in school, and he wants to deal with it. So he called his father, which I thought was dope. Like, pops. I see, you know, such and such.
Jason Rodriguez
I see the ops.
Mandy B.
How was this recorded? Was this a stream or something?
King Howard
Yeah, yeah, Wiz was on stream. And he's like, yo, hold on. I gotta deal with this. But, you know, it keeps going. So he's. I love the conversation. He's like, yo, Bash, chill. You always live to see another day. It's not what you gonna do. You gonna wow him up. And then what?
Mandy B.
And then what?
King Howard
And then it's after. You know what I mean? So he's like, yeah, I know, but you hear Bash ain't really. He hear him. But he like, I wanna fuck him up. But I love the conversation with him. And was not the. And I think he talked him off of it. And when he got off the phone with him, right, he got up the phone with him. Grizz is like. Like, he probably gonna fuck him up. You know what I mean? But at least he gave him a foundation of sound advice. Like, listen, you don't have to do this. You know what I mean? It's okay. You get to the next step, and that's it. So to y' all point, who's gonna have that conversation? I totally agree. Based on what I saw Wiz probably, or having that conversation.
Jason Rodriguez
Is there a trend of, like, celebrity kids getting beat up? Cause Joe Button was telling his story on his podcast the other day about. That was funny, that shit was.
King Howard
Everybody squabbled.
Mandy B.
The stolen phone.
Jason Rodriguez
I mean, like, you were asking for all kinds of trouble, going to somebody's crib, knocking on their door. You got my phone. I see you got my phone.
King Howard
But that's the default, though. You can't front. That's also like, yo, these are $1,500 phones.
Jason Rodriguez
Joe said, I got a drawer full of phones. Come get one, come get one.
King Howard
But we gotta. We have to honor.
Jason Rodriguez
That's how you end up like Terry and Arnold.
King Howard
Hello. But that's why the conversation is important. Cause the first natural instinct is, I want my shit back. Sure. Fortunately, you can talk to somebody.
Mandy B.
You could literally sign into your icloud on another phone.
King Howard
But I'd rather the conversation first than the reaction first. And then shit like, why didn't you call me first? Right.
Mandy B.
I don't like when kids live like they're impoverished and they're not. Like your daddy said, come get this drawer full of eye doors.
Jason Rodriguez
And they come.
Mandy B.
You feel like you gotta go run up.
Jason Rodriguez
Nah, but them n tried me.
Unidentified Guest 1
Like
Jason Rodriguez
now they tried you and you beat up. How do you feel?
King Howard
How do you feel?
Jason Rodriguez
Better now?
King Howard
Sound resolved. Adults as a child, the first thing you want to address.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, I say Trey's fire.
King Howard
Oh, he's in college.
Mandy B.
It's the oldest.
Jason Rodriguez
It's the oldest son, so it's an adult.
King Howard
Okay, so we addressing the violation. That's what you're addressing?
Mandy B.
Okay, as an adult?
King Howard
Yes, when you want to address the violation.
Mandy B.
Look, he's 25. He's 25.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, 25.
King Howard
Yeah, yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
It's this man, that's.
Mandy B.
Bro, that's gross.
Jason Rodriguez
You over there, Dolo.
King Howard
No, no, no, no. You know, he is.
Mandy B.
And he went dolo, you said, yeah,
Jason Rodriguez
he went dolo to another person's house. You have no control over the environment or nothing going on.
King Howard
So he's a four year old adult. Think about that.
Jason Rodriguez
I mean, yes, but still, like, he's still a baby. He's still a baby at 25. When I was 25, I met this girl in Buckhead and I went to pick her up one night and she came out the crib with a duffel bag in her hand.
Mandy B.
Oh, she said, I got my overnight bag.
Jason Rodriguez
I'm about to. I'm thinking the same thing.
King Howard
You thinking what I'm thinking?
Mandy B.
It's an overnight bag.
Jason Rodriguez
It's an overnight bag. She got a bag in her hand. I'm like, oh, okay, cool. We on tonight.
Unidentified Guest 1
We good.
Jason Rodriguez
We about to go get some Hennessy and roll these blunts and we gonna crack some.
King Howard
Oh, man, this is gonna be a good one.
Jason Rodriguez
She opens the door and says, hey, before we go to your crib.
King Howard
Nope.
Jason Rodriguez
Can we just stop by my cousin at this hotel? I just gotta take him this bag real quick. Take him this bag.
Mandy B.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What?
King Howard
So now she comes in the car, you see the bag. You thinking, oh, I'm about to. You know what I mean, tear this up. But then she said, I gotta drop this off to the hotel.
Jason Rodriguez
Yes, I have to go to the hotel.
King Howard
Not y' all going to the hotel.
Jason Rodriguez
But she said, can we, before we go to your house, can we go meet my cousin at this hotel?
Mandy B.
Now she make you do a run.
Jason Rodriguez
I got. And then when I'm looking at her like, bitch, is you crazy?
Mandy B.
What did you say? Tell me you said. I said, hell no.
Jason Rodriguez
She said, nah, nah, it's not like That I just gotta give him this shit real quick. I was like, what shit?
King Howard
Yes, yes.
Jason Rodriguez
Now you want.
King Howard
Now you need to know what shit?
Jason Rodriguez
It's just a little powder.
King Howard
It's nothing.
Jason Rodriguez
Are you fucking crazy?
Mandy B.
Like, did you ever see her again?
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no, no. Wait, wait, wait, wait.
King Howard
Now we gotta reinvest. Go, go, go, go, go.
Jason Rodriguez
You go back into that building right
King Howard
there where you drag it up, you
Jason Rodriguez
put that bag back in there and then you bring your ass back to the car. That's exactly what she did.
Mandy B.
Okay.
Jason Rodriguez
But no, I'm not going to.
King Howard
Did she ever get the bag to her cousin at some point without G. He ain't at.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, that's. Yeah, that's. Well, she gotta figure it out on her own. She went tomorrow, the next day, whatever.
King Howard
And you accomplished the mission?
Jason Rodriguez
Absolutely.
Mandy B.
You cracked? Yeah. Oh, no, I ain't.
King Howard
I ain't lived to see another day. He wasn't part of a transaction.
Jason Rodriguez
I'm taking you.
Mandy B.
I'm being petty. I ain't letting a nigga crack. That didn't do me a favor. You told me no out the gate. I'll tell you no.
Jason Rodriguez
Am I getting a piece of these bricks?
King Howard
Well, that's another conversation.
Jason Rodriguez
Is that what you telling me?
Mandy B.
You getting a piece of the cheeks?
Jason Rodriguez
That ain't good enough.
King Howard
But, Mandy, you saying you wouldn't let nobody crack. But that's an equal. Is an equal opportunity. Opportunity.
Mandy B.
What?
King Howard
Because if you're getting crack, you're the crackee.
Mandy B.
What are you talking about?
King Howard
If somebody's cracking.
Jason Rodriguez
He said it's not a one way street. He said it's not a one way street.
Unidentified Guest 1
This is another case of salmon knowledge.
King Howard
Why is sex a one way street? Why would. I gave him the pussy. You got the dick.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
King Howard
That's what I'm saying.
Mandy B.
It's not always an even exchange. Y' all always come.
King Howard
We're not talking about. We're not talking about the. How many people push ups you could do in the process. That's the cost of getting there.
Mandy B.
No, no, no. It's not an even exchange when both parties do not at least come. And that's the problem.
King Howard
Well, that's the risk you take of having. The risk you take that you don't know. That's the risk you take of having a man. You could have dry cooch or you could have.
Mandy B.
Nah, man.
Jason Rodriguez
The point of the story is that at 25 years old, you should have discernment about what's a good idea and what's a bad idea today.
King Howard
25 year old.
Mandy B.
Today's 25 year old should even know
Jason Rodriguez
more because you've seen everything. You've seen how badly everything is going in the world.
King Howard
I can't raise the kids, man.
Mandy B.
Oh, and here we go. A man's frontal lobe typically reaches full development around 25, 2 to 30.
King Howard
That's a long time.
Jason Rodriguez
That's a long time.
Mandy B.
They good. I done dated some 25 year olds. We got some smart.
King Howard
They got to do updated study. I'm going to go,
Jason Rodriguez
how old is this study? When did. When was this conducted?
King Howard
Because niggas don't read no more either. They don't read.
Mandy B.
Oh, I see.
King Howard
So how do we develop that frontal load?
Mandy B.
I ain't gonna hold you. I'm taking the whole thing. Hey, especially in Georgia. Yummy. Let me know when we going on the belt line with some cute cards of sentences to have these niggas read it, man.
King Howard
Listen, I don't think you're gonna last more than 45. I think you're just gonna tap out. I think you'll be so disappointing. Like you know what?
Mandy B.
I know, I know it's for content
Jason Rodriguez
nowadays from the lobe is developed by Runs only fell lobes and Hellcat. That's niggas Frontal.
Mandy B.
The last topic, India Ari decided to
King Howard
bring her ass to the Internet.
Jason Rodriguez
I'm in this debate.
Mandy B.
I'm shocked at this.
Jason Rodriguez
I'm shocked at this. I'm so tired of this corny ass debate.
Mandy B.
By the way. Look, it died. By the way. We did bring up this topic a couple weeks ago because D1 also said that this was a he then devilish song that was poisoning our community. Now I do wanna say this does come off from a mother and daughter who were recently charged with thievery after they decided to post Louis bags that they stole from the store. And they went on Instagram and showed off these bags. And guess what song was playing in the background.
King Howard
Jesus Christ.
Mandy B.
Young Miami. Spin that. So there's a woman by the name of Mrs. M.J. ted LA. I'm calling for a boycott of Young Miami songs. Spin that. I believe it's degrading to our culture. At some point, we have to take seriously the power music has over our perceptions and the values it reinforces. This cannot be the song of the summer. Where India Ari Miss I am not My hair responded. I spent my entire adulthood caring way too much because I finally learned that not everybody cares with a capital C. And explaining it to them is not gonna make them care. Everything you listen to, see or eat is going to influence you. So make. Make your wise choice. She also goes further to say, this one has actually now since been deleted. The mass acceptance of this song itself is a crystal clear sign of the bigger problem. I finally realized that not everybody wants to be free. And it was a very rude awakening.
Jason Rodriguez
I hate this whole shit. I'm so sick of these niggas, man. I'm so sick of these niggas, man. Because what. All I'm hearing is that a. So once upon a time.
Mandy B.
Once upon a time, there was a pop.
Jason Rodriguez
Not long ago, it was a hoe.
Mandy B.
Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. My bad. Keep going.
King Howard
I was born in Philadelphia.
Jason Rodriguez
Born and raised, whatever, the whole thing. So long as at once upon a time, there was a song by Kanye west, okay. Called Jesus Walks.
Mandy B.
Okay.
Jason Rodriguez
Big hit record.
Mandy B.
Huge.
Jason Rodriguez
Everybody loved.
King Howard
Loved it.
Jason Rodriguez
Everyone playing on the radio, niggas singing it, niggas doing a little Jesus Walk dance, the whole shit. Everybody loves Jesus Walks. How many people you think got saved because of Jesus Walks? Who? How much you think the tithes and offerings in the church went up because Kanye west song Jesus Walks was playing on the radio? And everybody loved it? And everyone got so influenced to read the Bible and go in touch with God? No, I don't think so at all.
King Howard
I think so.
Jason Rodriguez
I think.
Mandy B.
Zero.
King Howard
You don't date one person.
Unidentified Guest 1
No.
Mandy B.
No.
King Howard
Got inspired to get saved.
Jason Rodriguez
No.
King Howard
And get communion.
Jason Rodriguez
No.
King Howard
Okay.
Jason Rodriguez
I think that.
Mandy B.
However, I do think Jeezy's music.
King Howard
I see the girl who had the duffel bag in your car. They were trying to. She listened to jeezy.
Mandy B.
She was Mrs. Snowman.
King Howard
Yeah, she Mrs. Snowman.
Mandy B.
Mrs. Snowman is crazy tricky because this could be, mind you, for whatever reason, we don't get this uproar from American Gangsta or the film and television scene where we see killing and shooting. And we're fine with everyone having the Godfather and all. This is their favorite movie. And Belly and Juice.
King Howard
Relax. Don't bring Belly into this.
Mandy B.
Why?
King Howard
Belly was a blueprint of survival and they went to Africa. The goal was to get out of the situation. But anyway, we not gonna do that.
Mandy B.
I say that to say we are able, and I think we should be able to show off and rap about realities for everyone. And scamming and boosting is not just a reality for black people. So I hate that we're making it our community.
Jason Rodriguez
They always did dumb shit.
Mandy B.
We are openly wearing the labels of boosters and scammers as if fucking American greed doesn't fucking exist. And these crackers ain't out here boosting and scamming every goddamn day.
King Howard
Well, slavery. Kanye once said that slavery was a choice.
Mandy B.
Oh my God.
King Howard
Now, I don't think he was referring to at least how I'm interpreting it.
Mandy B.
Where are we going with this?
King Howard
My interpretation of slavery is a choice is the things that we do that we have choice over determines the outcome of where we. Okay, so the mother and daughter that got arrested for boosting, you know, it seems to me that they was in the clear until they went on social media and posted it. Right. So the issue there is not the song. Right. It's the songs Overgrown. It's a mother and a daughter that planned to do this.
Mandy B.
And guess what?
King Howard
Now I will say right. And to blame it or even those scenarios adults behaving like this on the song. I can't let that fly. Also throughout the course of music, of black music in particular, in particular rap, there's been several songs that we've. That's been questionable. That's not really righteous, so to speak. You have to make the decision. Do you separate the song from how you interact with the public or not? That's what it boils down to.
Mandy B.
Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
And also, like, let's be clear about this. They're all.
King Howard
And the kids. And also to the kids. Right. I know that's a concern. Sure. And I get it. D1 and others, they're speaking from a spiritual blueprint. Right? A spiritual and religious blueprint. That. That is against that. But I've always of the mindset when you teach and have domain in your house and give these kids the foundation to make decisions. This shit don't matter.
Mandy B.
Are you ready?
King Howard
This is just entertainment.
Mandy B.
This is child neglect. This is child abuse. As a mother, she should be charged for going to commit crimes with her child.
King Howard
Well, I don't think that's an overgrown to grow up again. Let me look at her.
Mandy B.
How old is she?
King Howard
That look old.
Jason Rodriguez
She might be grown. She might be grown as hell.
Mandy B.
She's Joe Budden's son.
King Howard
Age probably.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah.
King Howard
Look at her. They look like the same nigga.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, they two not.
Mandy B.
They look like that.
King Howard
They do. Like they too much at the top.
Mandy B.
Weight ages you wait ages you a little bit maybe.
King Howard
Yeah. But she got them go up.
Mandy B.
Hey, prom season just ended not too long ago. And them bitches look grown as fuck.
Unidentified Guest 1
Go something in the water.
Mandy B.
There's something in the water. And these was Florida bitches too.
King Howard
So why they say there's been that challenge? Young Miami don't have a challenge. She didn't encourage Nobody.
Unidentified Guest 1
There might be a TikTok challenge, but what's the challenge? I don't know. I don't know what it is.
Jason Rodriguez
It's probably a dance or something like that.
King Howard
But the way that's framed is like, oh, it's not.
Jason Rodriguez
Walking Walmart. Show us putting a box of Clorox under your shirt and walking out. That's not the challenge.
Mandy B.
Can we look and see how old they are?
King Howard
Or allegedly, like Jameis Winston did once upon a time.
Mandy B.
Stealing crab legs, bro, they stole $75,000 worth of bags.
King Howard
And those were unique bags, according to a story I read. So when she posted.
Mandy B.
That was the inside job.
King Howard
When she posted it.
Mandy B.
You can't just walk into Louis.
King Howard
No, it's not. You know, why. Why would she post it then? She was in the clear. And she had on hijab. She had the whole outfit on.
Mandy B.
Could you look up age?
King Howard
Trying to be discreet.
Jason Rodriguez
Niggas is just fucking obsessed with.
Mandy B.
I don't know.
King Howard
Is that. Did you see the actual video with them boosting it?
Mandy B.
No.
King Howard
She had on a hijab.
Mandy B.
Oh, yes.
King Howard
And they got the purchases. It was well planned out.
Mandy B.
Downs something. Downs. Downs is the last name of both of them. But okay, it's okay. This is taken.
Jason Rodriguez
But here's my main problem with this shit. Cause to me, these niggas be sounding like the opps. Because people will find any excuse for the ills of society except the people who propagated the ills of society.
Mandy B.
Right?
Jason Rodriguez
Like the system is our enemy. Right? Like it's not a song. Y' all rather talk about songs and movies. Oh, my God.
Mandy B.
Never mind, y'. All. She 43.
King Howard
Both.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, no.
Mandy B.
She 43. And then her mom.
Jason Rodriguez
And her mom. Yeah, I'd say this is grown ass woman.
King Howard
Oh, so her mother's.
Mandy B.
That's not a kid.
King Howard
So her mother pushing 60.
Jason Rodriguez
Her mama push grown ass women.
Mandy B.
So I ain't gonna lie.
Unidentified Guest 1
They've been doing this, though.
Mandy B.
They've been doing this. This isn't brought about from. From the spin that she's a 43 year old woman and her mama joined her to go steal $75,000 worth of Louis bags, bro. They've been doing this. This isn't. This isn't a song influencing our culture.
Unidentified Guest 1
No, I agree. But it just so happens to be the hottest song right now. And it just goes with what they're mind you.
Mandy B.
Not only that, y' all want to know why Young Miami was solo in her career for some time? Because JT was in jail for scamming and Boosting.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah.
Mandy B.
That's literally what JT went to jail for. So young Miami. You keep trying to whistleblow to get Drake on this record. She is right there. Get Jatavia on the goddamn remix, bitch. Make it a City Girls record. You literally had to go solo for about two years because she was serving time for scamming and boosting. Where all my scamming ass bitches at, Bitch? You kicked her out the group. Y' all separated. Go get her for the rest. She literally was a part of this.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah.
Mandy B.
I don't know. I just hate that they just keep trying to ruin this song of the summer.
Jason Rodriguez
To me, it's this.
Mandy B.
Mind you, we didn't have one last year. We were talking about folding clothes. Right?
Jason Rodriguez
But it's this song. But it's just. I just sick of the idea that. That the music is what's making black people in society do crime and be some type of savages. Like, the first problem is that a. To me, these niggas are the opps. When you talk like that to me, you sound like you're doing the masters work. Yeah, you sound like you're doing the master's work. Because the master would much rather have you talking about this fucking song than the rights they stealing from us. Hello. The master would much rather you have talk about these lyrics than talk about about the money that they're embezzling and doing from all this other shit. Y' all niggas are worried about selective positioning.
Mandy B.
Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
Y' all worried about the wrong thing. On top of all of that, black people. You also make it sound like black people are stupid. Like as if we're not smart enough to hear a song and just treat it as entertainment. When you go to these concerts at these arenas that have 20,000 people, you go to these concerts at stadiums with 75, 80,000 people, and everybody's singing a song about drug dealing or shooting or being a gangster or whatever the song is. 99% of those people in that crowd, they never done no crime. They never did no prison time. They never did no felony, never killed nobody, never cooked no crack, never smelled no crack.
Mandy B.
And they worked hard to buy them tickets.
Jason Rodriguez
And they work hard to buy them tickets because they have jobs that they went to college for that they pay taxes for. These are regular, well adjusted adults who just want to be entertained and. Yeah, do we want to be entertained by some fuckery?
King Howard
Yes.
Jason Rodriguez
That is being human. We all want to be entertaining.
Mandy B.
That's why y' all keep watching Love Island.
Jason Rodriguez
We watch Love island, we're watching boxing, we're watching football. Where are catching CTE and damn near dying on the field. We're watching all of this because we as humans are entertained by things. That doesn't necessarily mean that you don't know how to compartmentalize entertainment and not make that your real life. I've been listening to niggas get shot, stabbed and imprisoned since I knew what music was. And not to mention there's a bunch of old school songs by white people in the 50s and Johnny Cash and country songs that were all talking about getting into a bar fight and killing somebody, sleeping with some other dude's man. And they find out and now you gotta stab them outlaws. These songs have been around since forever.
King Howard
That don't have nothing to do with us in the community. That's why they want that.
Mandy B.
No, that's why I like that he's saying it's anti black for our own community.
Jason Rodriguez
For our own community to be acting that way,
Mandy B.
making us happy.
Jason Rodriguez
Niggas are being happy.
Mandy B.
Men are damn niggas.
Jason Rodriguez
Niggas are getting joy. You think that they saw.
King Howard
Do you think that if they keep doing this and keep highlighting it, the song gets even more amplified?
Jason Rodriguez
Of course, because people love it. This can't be the song of the summer. Too late, motherfucker.
King Howard
This song is always the song of the summer. And that's always the adverse reaction to it. It's like when you keep stimulating it, it'll end up being the song of the summer.
Mandy B.
You know the other song of the summer that ain't getting half of this. It's talking about killing n Shebang.
Jason Rodriguez
It's literally all of my. Obviously dead.
King Howard
Yeah, but I think that's a forced entry into the song of the summer. No, all of my by the Drakeyites.
Jason Rodriguez
Well, there's a lot of Drakeyites, though.
King Howard
There's a lot of.
Jason Rodriguez
There's a lot of people.
King Howard
The Drakeyites are insufferable.
Jason Rodriguez
They're out there.
Mandy B.
No, no, no. Shebang is the other clear cut song. Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
The song that people are reacting to.
King Howard
Clear cut.
Mandy B.
Clear cut.
King Howard
There's no other song of the summer. It's one song of the summer.
Jason Rodriguez
Well, let's be clear about something.
King Howard
Yo, why didn't.
Jason Rodriguez
But she was like the number. It was for like a week, but it got replaced by like. But like.
Mandy B.
I know. You just don't. Like. I'm not doing.
King Howard
I do like Aubrey. I fuck with Aubrey.
Mandy B.
That's funny. Can I forgive. I can't. What do I need some head? I know that's right. That needs to just say it like he say.
King Howard
Say it like he say in case we clip it up so nobody won't like, oh, he say it like that.
Mandy B.
Can I forgive? I can. What do I need some head?
Jason Rodriguez
Hey, Dr. Sue's mother Goose. Dr. Seuss mother.
King Howard
Are they gonna teach these lyrics in Texas, right?
Jason Rodriguez
Is that gonna be illegal? Is that gonna be looked down upon?
King Howard
I mean, he got a crimin T.
Mandy B.
Oh, I mean, look, he talking about finesse and polymarket. There's scam discussion in this song as well. What do we like?
King Howard
So, you know what solves this problem? Amplifying the artists that don't have that content. That's what should be the focus. I'd rather just focus on the dope shit. Why are we not talking about Rhapsody? Why are they not talking about Rhapsody? Right? She just dropped. She's about to drop a new project. That's how you. You have the balance, right? Oh, yeah, because instead of pointing out what you don't like about that thing, amplify the shit you don't like. Cause there's people that might not know it exists, but if you say it. Oh, shit, let me tap it in.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, but that's not their agenda. Their agenda is to. They think they're healing the world. Like, it's a pretentious level of critique that makes them think that. You know what? I saw a video the other day. I saw a video of Kirk Franklin on the street talking to some brother. And the brother was telling it, and the brother was telling, oh, you going to hell. You need to repent. And Kirk Franklin was trying to show the nigga love. Trying to show the nigga love.
Mandy B.
He's saying, fuck, nigga, I'mma beat y'.
Unidentified Guest 1
All.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And this is Kirk Franklin. This is a man who believes in God heavily, who makes the gospel music. The classic gospel songs.
Mandy B.
Slides came out of him because he's
Jason Rodriguez
still a human being.
King Howard
And also, listen, Kirk Franklin be working out. I was like, damn, Kirk Franklin gonna beat this ass.
Mandy B.
Wait, wait, wait. Cause he was looking at his arms.
King Howard
No, no, he be working out. No, no, no. He documents that. He does. So I'm looking at. Like.
Jason Rodriguez
Okay, no, I don't mean like that.
Mandy B.
You just pointed at. I.
Jason Rodriguez
No, I'm pointing.
King Howard
I'm acknowledging that we haven't seen Kirk get out his element. And this is probably the closest time he was going to. Because I thought it was going to happen. I said, yo, he about to knock dude out.
Mandy B.
No, he wasn't going to Knock him out. He was gonna stomp him out.
Unidentified Guest 1
Stomp.
Mandy B.
No. Tomato, tomato, okay, Tomato, tomato, tomato, tomato.
Jason Rodriguez
But this nigga's in his little G unit sports bra like he was ready to homie up like he was gonna whoop this nigga ass.
King Howard
That's what I. That's what I. I was like, damn. And the way. Look, look, when he start. When he start putting his hand on, like.
Mandy B.
Yo, he's trying to give him my arm.
King Howard
I know, but first he did this. And I was like, oh, shit. And I was like, all right, the hug. Once he start right there, he's still trying to hug him.
Jason Rodriguez
As soon as he said, and your wife going to hell too.
King Howard
The niggas was that right hand should have been like, bong, bong. That's it.
Jason Rodriguez
Nigga, you talk about my wife.
Mandy B.
Can I just say you aged us yet again.
King Howard
No, look, look, look, look, look.
Mandy B.
G unit sports bra.
King Howard
See, look, look, look. That's where he was gonna cuff him. Right there.
Jason Rodriguez
Right there.
King Howard
He was gonna do it.
Mandy B.
The kids don't remember.
King Howard
Of course they do.
Mandy B.
No, they don't. Yomi, are you. Do you know. See, okay, she's 30.
King Howard
She's just one kid. There's many kids.
Jason Rodriguez
She just.
Mandy B.
Did you look at up the G unit tank top? No. G unit tank top.
Unidentified Guest 1
Seen them around in New York.
Mandy B.
No, it's 35.
King Howard
No, they didn't wear that.
Mandy B.
Well, look at this.
Jason Rodriguez
Look at this. Yo, look at this.
Unidentified Guest 1
Look at this.
Jason Rodriguez
That is a sports bra, right?
Unidentified Guest 1
I've seen it.
Mandy B.
Men were wearing these.
King Howard
Yeah, they was.
Mandy B.
We talk about.
King Howard
But you know why. You know why they exist, right?
Mandy B.
No talking over each other.
King Howard
You know why it exists, though?
Mandy B.
Why?
King Howard
The old tank top, they had the thin strap.
Mandy B.
Okay.
King Howard
And that was, you know, kind of.
Mandy B.
I thought he tried to make him.
Unidentified Guest 1
This was more Super Bowl.
Jason Rodriguez
He did. He did. Yeah, he did.
King Howard
He brought it back.
Unidentified Guest 1
He's trying to bring this shit back.
Mandy B.
Please don't.
King Howard
But the reason why is because his first record in the club, that's what he has on. And it's because that was his signature.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah.
King Howard
So that was just ode to that. You know, when he did the super bowl, that was an old toy.
Mandy B.
I thought he was trying to make it look like. Like a bulletproof vest.
Jason Rodriguez
It kind of does have.
King Howard
Nobody should have the bulletproof vest over the tank.
Unidentified Guest 1
I mean, they still sell these.
Mandy B.
I don't want them.
Jason Rodriguez
No, those are.
King Howard
But those are the. Those are the. Are the better type of tank tops, though.
Unidentified Guest 1
Yeah, but that comes.
King Howard
The thin strap.
Jason Rodriguez
No, the problem is I'm not worried about the straps. This comes up to like right here and it's straight across.
Unidentified Guest 1
Like, it's like a blouse. Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
Like a tank top is supposed to have a kind of a U neck type of thing.
King Howard
Like, I think that's intention. I think he, you know, I don't
Mandy B.
want to see any man in a G unit tank top.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, that shit looks crazy.
King Howard
I'm sorry.
Jason Rodriguez
That shit looks crazy.
Mandy B.
Like, I don't care how good your body look.
King Howard
Yeah, that shit is wild.
Mandy B.
I don't want to see no van in no G unit tank top in 20, 26.
King Howard
Yeah, that's just wild.
Mandy B.
I didn't want to see it back in 2004.
King Howard
We call it the G unit tank top. I don't think that they branded it that way. They probably should have. No, it came out with the sneakers and all of that.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, I thought. I thought it was.
Mandy B.
Yeah, G unit TikTok. The G unit used to be right on it.
King Howard
Yeah, look, the unit now it's just
Unidentified Guest 1
called unit tank tops.
Mandy B.
Oh, unit tank top.
King Howard
You know what?
Mandy B.
I can't.
King Howard
The unit. Yeah, the unit, cuz. They took the G out. Yeah, for branding.
Jason Rodriguez
I hate it for branding. Them niggas probably got scared when the goddamn. When the feds came for Ja ruling them. They was like, oh, nah, nah, nah. We about to clean this shit up. Niggas ain't coming for us. But the long and short of it is, yes, a nigga wearing one of those who loves Jesus and goes to church was gonna whoop your ass.
King Howard
I think he would have whooped his ass. I think he was this close.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, we would do this.
Mandy B.
There was a size difference. I don't know.
Jason Rodriguez
Kendrick Lamar has a lyric.
Mandy B.
It. Here we go.
Jason Rodriguez
Every week.
Unidentified Guest 1
Bam.
Jason Rodriguez
Don't do that, don't do that, don't do that, don't do that.
King Howard
We gotta address that. This got all the greatest albums in his catalog, and they worry about that where he was being goofy. The whole song is a joke.
Mandy B.
He wrote that down.
King Howard
Yes, but.
Mandy B.
Okay, he wrote it down.
King Howard
But he wasn't trying to be. Have lyrical supremacy over that. He did that because he was like, I'm gonna show you the goofy.
Mandy B.
Boom bop bam.
Jason Rodriguez
No Bombay.
King Howard
That's reach.
Jason Rodriguez
Anyway, he has a line that says, I am a sinner and I'm probably going to sin again. Like, that's. That's a real human thing.
Unidentified Guest 1
Like, great tongue.
Jason Rodriguez
That's just what it is. You see what I'm saying?
King Howard
And that's the human element.
Jason Rodriguez
It read like it Was hot.
King Howard
Right. But like, so then by that we belong.
Mandy B.
That he didn't really rap.
King Howard
That the church. The church. The church would not like us. Cuz we drink tequila on our show.
Unidentified Guest 1
Right.
Mandy B.
I didn't. I'm on coffee until bonus episode.
Jason Rodriguez
Until the bonus when she guzzles a bottle of.
King Howard
But we don't participate in a religious lifestyle.
Jason Rodriguez
Listen, man, there's no amount of going to church.
King Howard
When the last time you been to church or the mosque or the fucking.
Jason Rodriguez
I went to church for the first time in a long time. Probably like three or four months ago. And that was the first time I had been in probably years for a child.
King Howard
No, that don't count.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, sort of for weddings and stuff like that. Yeah, like to go to church and get the word of God. I haven't been to church.
King Howard
You went to a Christian christening?
Mandy B.
I went to a christening.
King Howard
Okay. And what did. Oh, yeah, she probably showed up, man.
Mandy B.
And there was a Netflix ad in the middle of church.
King Howard
That's crazy.
Mandy B.
They brought Devon Franklin to promote his Netflix movie.
Jason Rodriguez
Hey, Christian capitalism is a real thing.
Mandy B.
Like, I'm not doing church in the South.
King Howard
That's the black church.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah.
King Howard
Christian capitalism is black. Church is black.
Jason Rodriguez
Capitalism is a very real thing.
Mandy B.
Devon Franklin came into the juice.
Unidentified Guest 1
Came crazy. That's why Juski went crazy.
King Howard
Yeah, yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
100%.
King Howard
100%.
Mandy B.
I'm not gonna lie. As someone who enjoys concerts and live bands.
King Howard
Oh, no.
Mandy B.
Production.
King Howard
Southern church is different now. Production, it's different.
Mandy B.
No, not just Southern. Mega Southern.
Jason Rodriguez
Mega Southern. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Those are concerts. Those are concerts.
Mandy B.
It was a concert.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah. It's not just like, oh, we're gonna have a selection from the choir now. Like, no, we buying you a show.
King Howard
I want $2,000 in that. In that collection plate. You only gave a thousand.
Jason Rodriguez
Lock the door. Close the door. Lock the door until Mandy walk in.
King Howard
They already went five racks off rip, so. Yeah, now we got full court pumps in the building.
Unidentified Guest 1
You smell like five racks. You smell like five racks as soon as you walk in.
King Howard
Yeah, that's minimum, man. You gotta minimum.
Mandy B.
Y' all think I'm giving the church five bands?
King Howard
The expectation wouldn't.
Unidentified Guest 1
But they. I think they would be like five.
Mandy B.
Nah, I think they put a price on you. You know, that's the crazy thing too. I don't have cash, so they put up QR codes.
Jason Rodriguez
Absolutely. They have a little bit.
King Howard
They got ATMs in the church, man.
Mandy B.
I don't like that. Yeah, I said, I ain't got nothing in my purse. They Said for y' all that don't have cash as a QR code, right up on the screen, we take cash, app, Z, Venmo, PayPal.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dollar sign, get into heaven, tap in.
King Howard
And if you make a quarter million, if you make a certain amount.
Mandy B.
I think I sent $5.
King Howard
If you make a certain amount and better, you are expected to give in that bracket that you're in.
Mandy B.
Well, I was a visitor.
King Howard
Yeah.
Unidentified Guest 1
Or else you are, like, looked down upon, frown upon. You know, when you're pulling in with. You're pulling up with a. With a Porsche.
Mandy B.
First off, I pulled up in my Uber. Toyota Corolla.
Unidentified Guest 1
No, I'm not talking about you, but you kind of get, I think, kind of like bullied into having to.
King Howard
Yes, of course. Because of the expectation.
Unidentified Guest 1
Yep.
King Howard
Because you're supposed to give 10% in general.
Unidentified Guest 1
Super transactional.
Jason Rodriguez
So the long. The long and the short of it is there's no positive music that you can listen to that's going to change the world.
Mandy B.
And there's no D1.
Jason Rodriguez
Yeah, yeah. That's going to make everyone positive. That's going to make everyone.
King Howard
Damn.
Jason Rodriguez
That's going to make everyone become a Christian. And no, they got the crazy. It's gonna end violence and end all the ills of humanity. All you gotta do is listen to these positive rap songs and that will change the black community forever. The fuck outta here.
Mandy B.
Fuck outta here.
King Howard
You know, it's crazy when we have revolutionary artists who was for the people and doing all the things that we talk about. They wasn't supporting them, they wasn't talking about. Yeah, lean into that shit. So it's like, again, if you amplify the shit that you like, go back
Mandy B.
and listen to the damn album. Anyways, thank y' all so much.
King Howard
She asked for Drake to be on that record, too.
Mandy B.
She did.
King Howard
On the remix.
Mandy B.
Were you not here? Oh, you were in your phone. Sorry for y' all that.
King Howard
Cause I had breaking news that we'll talk about after. No, no, no.
Unidentified Guest 1
The breaking news.
King Howard
It's after. It's after. It's good for you because you're fucking.
Unidentified Guest 1
Send him a text during the middle of this.
Mandy B.
It's bad news for us.
King Howard
Well, not really bad.
Mandy B.
Okay, well, we get it.
Jason Rodriguez
It's just heartbreaking. Oh, before we go, speaking of bad news, my condolences to Yomi and the sadness that took place yesterday in the World Cup. It's not a sports podcast, but I didn't even want to text the group chat because I felt bad. I was like, damn, and then I seen your IG story. You got a traitor amongst your.
Unidentified Guest 1
Personally. I am in a Mexican Ecuadorian household. My stepdad's Mexican. My mom is Ecuadorian. So my group chats have been on
Mandy B.
four, but Mexico has won all four matches and they're doing really well.
Unidentified Guest 1
And they won 20 against Ecuador.
Mandy B.
You know what I felt like last night as soon as I got on my feed and I saw Ecuador? I'm happy for y'.
Unidentified Guest 1
All.
Jason Rodriguez
All right. Congratulations.
Mandy B.
No, no, no. You know what's crazy? You know, like, okay, this is how I felt. I'm not gonna lie. When there be news. Like, my homegirls deal with ho ass niggas, okay? And when they get into the blogs with a woman, I'm not gonna send them that. Cause I know it's gonna make them feel away, right? And so when I saw the Ecuador loss, I was like. Like, I'm not going to pile on to my friend, cuz I care about her feelings. I know she sees it. I don't have to run.
Jason Rodriguez
I don't have to do that. She's watching this. She know what it is.
Mandy B.
And so I was like, I'mma keep quiet.
Jason Rodriguez
That's all.
Unidentified Guest 1
No, trust me. I had people blowing up my phone.
Mandy B.
I know.
Unidentified Guest 1
I went on do not Disturb. And then I was like, when your team make. Cuz the person that was blowing up my phone, he's Jamaican, by the way. I'm going send you this. So I was like, blow up my phone when your team makes it to the World Cup.
King Howard
That way.
Unidentified Guest 1
Hold on.
King Howard
That way.
Mandy B.
Disrespectful.
Jason Rodriguez
That way. That's the.
King Howard
That's what?
Mandy B.
Gelatin. Anyways, thank y' all so, so, so, so, so, so much. I think we are heading into the semifinals by this point. Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
Round of 16. Round of 16.
Mandy B.
So, yeah.
Unidentified Guest 1
Who do y' all want to win?
Mandy B.
Morocco.
Unidentified Guest 1
Morocco.
Jason Rodriguez
I'm not gonna lie.
Unidentified Guest 1
I'm actually rooting for Mexico. I was rooting for Mexico and Ecuador.
Mandy B.
You know what? And I'mma go for Mexico because I went to real, real tacos the other day.
Jason Rodriguez
Listen.
Mandy B.
And I was like, damn, this shit kind of good.
Unidentified Guest 1
And now you was hating on Mexican food?
Mandy B.
No, I don't know.
Jason Rodriguez
Definitely.
Mandy B.
And also, they have the best stadium. And I want to go.
Jason Rodriguez
Yo, the way that Monterey with the. With the mountain in the background and the way the Is. Oh, man, that is glorious. I definitely want to go Glory.
Unidentified Guest 1
I will say though, this game, I was a little tight. Mexico played phenomenally, but that first goal was offsides.
Jason Rodriguez
Oh, that first it was a little controversial.
Mandy B.
Go sports.
Unidentified Guest 1
Because. Because a couple of games before they took a goal, I think it was from Colombia. And like, they said they were offsides, but, like half a foot. And then this goal, he was offsides, but, like, probably one or two people. So I was just like, all right, whatever. So I couldn't. I think I. I had a feeling Mexico was going to win because Mexico was playing at home. Yeah, the stadium looked fucking electric. Yeah.
Jason Rodriguez
Like they were going.
Unidentified Guest 1
It looked insane. And they also were, like, not letting the. The Ecuadorian team sleep. They were making noise outside of the hotel.
Jason Rodriguez
I saw that.
Mandy B.
Well, I love it. The African countries are doing their big one and getting rid of the colonizers.
Unidentified Guest 1
As we're speaking, Dr. Congo is beating England 1 0.
Jason Rodriguez
Let's go. I'm acting like, let's go.
Unidentified Guest 1
The colonizers are looking like they're so.
Jason Rodriguez
Slay the Brits.

This is an I heart podcast, guaranteed human.
Podcast: Decisions, Decisions
Host: The Black Effect Podcast Network & iHeartPodcasts
Date: July 7, 2026
Hosts: Mandii B., King Howard, Jason Rodriguez, and guests
In episode 71, titled "Bible Thumpers & Bad Parenting," the hosts get candid about the blurred lines between religion and state in U.S. schools, the Fourth of July's meaning in Black America, ongoing political shifts, and culture clashes over the Song of the Summer. The crew mixes irreverent humor, personal anecdotes, and raw social commentary to interrogate hot-button topics like the Texas Bible-in-schools mandate, parental responsibility in tragic obesity cases, and whether pop music shapes Black behavior or simply reflects it.
This episode covers everything from current events and culture wars to deeply-rooted issues of race, class, religion, and identity in America. Mandii B., King Howard, and Jason Rodriguez keep it unfiltered and fiercely opinionated, delivering insight, belly-laughs, and plenty for listeners to chew on, whether they agree or not.
