Weezy
That's right.
Mandy B.
All right, well, let's get into this one. The subject matter for today. Could a tattoo be a deal breaker?
Weezy
Oh. What?
Mandy B.
All right. Hey, mommies and poppy.
Weezy
Thank you.
Mandy B.
This might be lengthy, but it's worth it, I promise. I've been dating my mans for almost a year now. We're fully in love, have plans to get engaged, kids, the whole damn thing. We've both made a lot of sacrifices and compromises for each other and have done the work to show up as the partners that we need each other to be. But there seems to be one hurdle that we can't get past. And it has been the only thing in this relationship that makes it hard for us to see us crossing the finish line together. I have two tattoos of two exes, initials on me.
Weezy
Oh, God damn it.
Mandy B.
One of my ex boyfriends who I was with for five years, and one of an ex girlfriend who I was with for two, on and off. Before y'all start giving your piece, I wanna give you guys some backstory. Both my mans and I are fully tatted. And to be honest, you'd have to go on a whole ass scavenger hunt to even find those two tattoos on my body. They are initials, not full names, and Both are about 1 inch by 1 inch and in discreet spots. One is on the back of my shoulder surrounded by other pieces, and the other one is down on my ankle. They're not all up in your face. He's never asked me to get them covered up, but he has communicated to me that seeing them, especially when we're being intimate and having sex, makes him feel uncomfortable and as if I'm holding onto those X's. And although he sat it up throughout his whole body, he constantly uses the argument, what if I had my exes tattooed on me?
Weezy
Terrible argument.
Mandy B.
But here's the thing. I've been with people who had their exes tattooed on them, but I've never felt a kind of way. I know that's an unpopular opinion, but tattoos aren't that serious to me, and I'm not about to be erasing my partner's past. Unfortunately, this opinion is not the same on his end. I think where the barrier comes from is that this is my first monogamous relationship in almost 10 years, and he has always been monogamous in his past relationships. I'm a retired poly person, and I think that might have a role to play in me being someone who wouldn't be bothered by a tattoo of another partner or ex partner on my person. I am 1000% fully committed to being in something monogamous. I just didn't think this would be a sacrifice that came along with it. We keep revisiting the conversation every few months, but it just turns into a whole argument, and it becomes the one argument we can't seem to move past or shut the door down on. I know he would drop it and feel safer about our future if I were to just get them covered up, but for some reason, that feels like I'm erasing my past or oppressing my bodily autonomy, brother. Another part of me is like, girl is dying on the hill for too tiny tattoos of X's initials. Really? That serious? I'm scared this might be a deal breaker for him to stay in this relationship. Should that fear be a deal breaker for me? So I'm asking y'all, would two tiny tattoos of 2X's initials be a deal breaker for you?
Weezy
You want me to be a devil's advocate? You want me to, first off, tell you how I feel? Like, what you want me to give you?
Mandy B.
First, I want both of y'all to say how y'all would feel, and then we'll get into the crutch of the matter. So I'm not gonna lie. I have jokingly, like, been like, who is Marianne? Who is Antoinette? Like, I've seen women's names tatted on niggas, and it's never. They'll be like, man, that's my mama. Man, that's my grandmama. Man, that's my child.
Weezy
What are you.
Mandy B.
Oh, my bad.
Weezy
What are you trying to say here?
Mandy B.
Like, I've, like, jokingly been, like, who that woman name on your body?
Weezy
Okay.
Mandy B.
But it genuinely, after a while, like, I don't think it would bother me if someone had their ex's name tatted on them.
Weezy
Where.
Eden
Right?
Mandy B.
So that is the thing. The Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey full back tat.
Weezy
Right? Crazy.
Mandy B.
Especially because, nigga, you might be doing the bending, and now I gotta see that.
Weezy
Oh, my Lord.
Mandy B.
I'm just saying that tattoo is too much. I think also, if it's your closet chest tattoo.
Weezy
Yeah.
Mandy B.
However, names and initials I wouldn't be mad at portraits.
Weezy
That portraits is insane.
Mandy B.
Might have to go initials. Initials I wouldn't be bothered at, especially if you're a super chatted person. One inch by one inch, however, she's like, they're not in big places. She said her shoulder blade. Come on, G. If you taking back.
Weezy
Shots, I'mma see it.
Mandy B.
She sees the tattoo.
Weezy
If y'all taking those panties off, I'mma.
Mandy B.
See it is up by his. By his face, which baby, that's where the ankles go.
Weezy
I'm be tight.
Mandy B.
And now he gotta look over and see your ex's initials. To me, though, if this is your person, right, and you super tatted, you're dying on a hill that makes me believe this relationship isn't that serious or you haven't fully stepped out of your poly ways and you're still in communication or love.
Weezy
Previous ex Shorty is definitely talking to them, though.
Mandy B.
You think so?
Weezy
She knows that they're gonna feel some type of way if she takes any one of them off, Especially the ankle one. Because the ankle one's the worst one. To me.
Mandy B.
The ankle one is worse than the.
Weezy
The shoulder. Yeah, absolutely. Put a shirt on. Like, I'm chilling the ankle.
Mandy B.
Yeah.
Weezy
For the ankle. I'm like, now I'm taking your panties off and I'm gonna see this tattoo. I don't care if it's 1 inch by 1 inch. It looks like a 10 foot tattoo every time I see it, and I'm gonna be sick every time. That being said, she could just put some socks on and we could really just resolve like that. But the principal. The principal tells me that you could take. If you have so many tattoos, that means that you could get. You could do that also.
Mandy B.
I think her leaning into sharing the backstory of her being newly monogamous and a former poly person lets me know that she still has not let go of those feelings and those relationships with those exes. Because you're not erasing a past by covering a tattoo.
Weezy
Right.
Mandy B.
You still hold those memories.
Weezy
Absolutely.
Mandy B.
You still probably have pictures and all the things with those people.
Weezy
For sure.
Mandy B.
You, out of the respect of your partner, if it's bothering them, you should care about your current partner's feelings, not what your exes may think. It's not erasing the past. I think that a part of you may actually be doing this. The fact that you brought up bodily autonomy makes me feel like you're resenting the power dynamic that you know is or the possessiveness that's associated with monogamy.
Eden
Monogamy. Yup.
Mandy B.
That's what it sounds like to me. I feel like you're rebelling against the possessiveness of monogamy and that's why you want to keep those tattoos, because you are a former poly person and you.
Weezy
Don'T have to get him removed. I had a friend who. His girlfriend. His current girlfriend now. Right. Right when they started dating, she knew that she had a tattoo. I think it was on her arm. Right. And it was a tattoo that an ex desired. Right. It wasn't even that big, so it was like a little figurine. Right. She got it covered up, but it was for her and for who? Her partner. Like, she knew, like, you know what, he might feel some type of way. So let me just do something real quick to make it a little easier. Now, that being said, if it's the principle. The principle is I'm not going to want to see initials of another partner on you. It don't matter right now. Can I put some socks on? Yeah. Can you put a shirt on? For sure. Girl, just take that tattoo off or cover it with something nicer.
Eden
Get it removed valid.
Mandy B.
Get it removed valid. Yeah.
Weezy
Now she'll probably. She'll probably cover it. Compare, like, knowing, like, maybe. Plus, they both tatted, right?
Mandy B.
Yeah.
Weezy
So I feel like something like this, right? And what I tell a lot of my friends is that you have to establish, like, the base of your relationship. So if you just started. If that's your man for real, right. Now you guys are starting. Let's start a little honest and with, like, good principles, which is. Yo, I'm going to be honest. Do you really feel some type of way about this tattoo? Yes or no? Like, tell me yes or no now, and that way you're not. I don't know. Okay. They feel some type of way. For sure. I might have to get this.

Weezy

Mandy B.
Yo, shut up.
Weezy
A lot. A lot.
Geico Voiceover
Yeah.
Weezy
I'm sorry.
Mandy B.
I mean, yeah, we could actually put bananas on both of you first.
Weezy
Why Would I want a banana?
Mandy B.
First off, you have.
Weezy
That's half racist right there.
Mandy B.
Don't you have a money bag and an orange tatted on you?
Weezy
That's not the point here.
Mandy B.
Talking about damn.
Weezy
Actually, you know, that's actually a great point.
Mandy B.
What are we talking?
Eden
That's a great point.
Weezy
I'm not gonna lie. And that is not one inch by one. Just like kind of two inches.
Mandy B.
You have a five by five ab. Your knee.
Eden
Yeah, check me.
Mandy B.
Like, you already have a stamp of two tatted on you. Of course. Wolves coming next.
Weezy
First of all, it's an orange and you got two. I can't say anything about that.
Mandy B.
Damn, that is crazy.
Weezy
Worth the commitment. It's a great. It's a great tattoo.
Mandy B.
You might actually.
Weezy
Girls love it.
Mandy B.
Align yourself as being poly. Having Rory Mall. Rory Mall is tatted on you, bro.
Weezy
I'm branded. I accepted that when it was happening and I knew I was gonna do. I was like, I'm accepting this fate. I don't care.
Mandy B.
I can't believe. Okay, so you broke up with Rory and Ma. Have you ever considered.
Weezy
Technically, they broke up with me.
Mandy B.
Okay. First off. But then actually, they're double back.
Weezy
Well, thank God.
Mandy B.
Do you think they would have felt away if you covered the tattoo?
Weezy
No, but when they, like when they had to drop me and I understood everything, I was like. I was like, I got to say something to make. Say something.
Mandy B.
Because that was like a poly relationship. Yeah, pretty much. You laid hands on their other part.
Weezy
And I shouldn't have done that. And then next thing there, they were like, we have to drop him. I was like, I get it. Right? But the funny part for me was when I was like, I got to say something about me getting dropped. I was like, does anyone have a good cover up artist? Because that was my. That's the only way I got to approach it. I still have it. I'm all like, damn. But now. Now I'm her first. Now I'm sure I got to put pants on.
Mandy B.
You're shorty because you in a whole nother relationship. You know what's crazy?
Weezy
Oh, no. You know about to ask me.
Mandy B.
Let me turn this into a relationship.
Weezy
If you pay for it, I'll do it.
Mandy B.
What's crazy is. Oh, nigga, we got it in the budget. You want to know what's crazy now? I would feel away if I was in a relationship with someone who had their ex's something tatted on them. And I'm like, yo, when you gonna get an MB tatted on you? And he's like, yeah, n. That's crazy. I would feel away. If I'm in a relationship with someone and they go from having their ex tatted on them but not wanting me tatted on.
Weezy
Damn. So should she ask him to. No. Should she? Should he ask her to get his name tatted on her?
Mandy B.
But to me, because she already has two exes tatted on her, it probably doesn't mean nothing to him.
Weezy
Third time's a charm, yo.
Mandy B.
Third time's a charm. Is crazy. Have you ever considered matching tattoos?
Weezy
No. Fuck, no.
Mandy B.
So what's crazy is me and my ex did. Of course I. Of course we thought initials at one point.
Weezy
Damn.
Mandy B.
Because I could have, like, bodied that and changed it something else. But then what we wanted to do was get, like. He would get, like, the. Like, the spades. So, like, the king of spades and queen of spades type of dynamic. Shut up. First off, I'm a ghetto. Busted, baby. Y'all are so lucky. Y'all are so lucky. Back in the day, I wanted a cupcake tatted on my ass.
Weezy
Oh, boy.
Mandy B.
And y'all know I wanted to laugh now, cry later.
Eden
You almost got the paw print on the chest.
Mandy B.
I wanted the paw print on the chest.
Weezy
No kiss on the neck.
Mandy B.
I have a kiss on the back of my neck.
Weezy
Oh, what the fuck you. Oh, I've never seen. I've never looked at the back of.
Mandy B.
Your neck, and it hurts so bad. It's like.
Weezy
I'm sure it did.
Mandy B.
It looks like it covered when I tell you. I don't know how I don't have a fucking yin and yang tatted on me somewhere. I am the OD. 100% original millennial. Y'all are lucky I ain't got a tramp stamp. Like, I'm surprised you don't. I was here to get all of them tattoos.
Weezy
You have an ass tattoo?
Mandy B.
Do I have a what?
Weezy
An ass tattoo.
Mandy B.
What the.
Weezy
Is that an ass tattoo? Like, on your cheek?
Mandy B.
No.
Weezy
Oh, I do.
Mandy B.
You have an ass tag.
Weezy
Yeah. It's a long story.
Mandy B.
And you do not have an Aztec.
Weezy
I would show you two, but we don't have HR Patreon. It's. It's. It's. Hey. Right. It's a. Ever heard of Side Talk nyc? I have their little logo.
Mandy B.
You have a tramp stamp on your ass.
Weezy
It's basically. It's like a one inch. It's a one inch. Well, that's the only one inches clean close to my butt, but that's the one inch that I have on My cheek.
Mandy B.
It's on your cheek?
Weezy
Yeah, on my left.
Mandy B.
I'm not going to hold you. This is going to be very problematic of me. I am questioning the sexuality of any hetero man.
Weezy
So does. So does everybody with an ass cheek. Understandably. I get it.
Mandy B.
Just saying, like, even when I watch gay porn, I'd be like, now why you got to have an Aztec? You look so masculine. I need this big energy ass. That is just not kind of wild, right? It's really wild. So like, you be doing the bending now?
Weezy
Do I. Do I do the bending? I will. I would normally want to do the bending.
Mandy B.
By the way, if you do not know where that's from, get off this podcast, yo.
Weezy
That's just hilarious.
Mandy B.
And go watch that goddamn. Why did I get married? I guess why did you? You said you've never even considered a tattoo with an.
Weezy
Imagine that like, even when you were.
Mandy B.
Drunk, you never considered it.
Eden
Bro, I'm the same when I'm drunk.
Mandy B.
You know what's crazy?
Weezy
I always used to be like, you're just more excited.
Mandy B.
We're gonna blame liquor.
Weezy
Yeah.
Mandy B.
Every time we left the bar. Let's go get matching tag.
Eden
Right?
Weezy
Only because I feel like that's a girl thing for sure.
Mandy B.
I've never done it with a man. Never wanted to. Well, I clearly wanted to, but I'd never done it. I had never loved anybody like the way.
Weezy
So you gotta love them to do it obsessed.
Mandy B.
Oh, no, you gotta be you.
Weezy
This is why she should take those tattoos off. Oh, yes. Okay, Valid.
Mandy B.
So I'm not gonna lie.
Weezy
However.
Mandy B.
No, I had a third part. You either. You either are in love obsessed or delusional.
Eden
Or is that.
Mandy B.
Oh, wait, delusional is another one. So four or come from a broken home and have some. You have some sort of like co dependent like you never felt love.
Weezy
All these factors sound like she gotta remove and or cover this tattoo.
Mandy B.
It sounds like your daddy didn't sign your birth certificate. So now y'all gotta. You gotta get back to with the wrong name with a nigga. You got daddy issues.
Eden
She gotta cover it.
Mandy B.
I agree. So our advice is if you really love this man, cheat on cover it, not cheat.
Weezy
She don't.
Mandy B.
You don't. You said she don't. I thought you said cheat on him.
Weezy
Oh. Oh, my God.
Mandy B.
No, I agree though. I agree. I think that if you truly love the relationship dynamic of what this looks like and what it should be, you should just get it covered.
Eden
Yeah.
Weezy
Plus now there's more tats. So you wanted another tat Right, There you go.
Mandy B.
You a tatted ass bitch, girl. I know you created shouldn't be nothing. Cover that shit with some cherries or some bullshit.
Weezy
I think his, I think his feelings are very valid. He should also just make sure that he's like very straightforward about like, yo, this does not make me happy. Like, I'm not a fan of this. Like, what can we do about this?
Mandy B.
And I think you may also need to dig deeper into if you are really fully ready for what? Monogamy? Because I, I, I personally don't think you are. And I do think that you're harboring feelings comes with sacrifice into those things, into those tattoos. Yes, that's what I feel like. Right.
Eden
Yeah. She already made the worst mistake ever.
Mandy B.
So you telling me that what's the worst mistake ever?
Eden
The worst mistake ever is you going to tell me there's remnants of another man present and you going to tell me you not going to get rid of it because of your past.
Mandy B.
Hold on. You know what? That just sounded like. Wait, you know what?
Weezy
That just sounded like another man tatter her.
Mandy B.
So what about that remnants of another man that you can't get rid of. All I thought of is come, oh, your other baby daddy. You got to get rid of that kid because now I'm in here. I mean, that's other remnants of a man kind of.
Eden
Also the same tattoo is just like, that's, that's unacceptable. I can't do that.
Mandy B.
But a child like, okay, let me ask you, this kid, is the kid okay? And let's not be so dramatic and go all the way to kids. If, if a man gifted you something, like, so if, if you're wearing the necklace from an ex or a watch from an ex or anything like that, do you feel like when you get into a new relationship that those things should come off?
Eden
Wait, I'm not the right guy to ask.
Weezy
I might not be the right person.
Eden
Because I'm asking girls. I'm like, you wore that around him. Oh, I'm saying, I'm just, hey, I'm just keeping it a stack. I'm like, you wore that around him.
Weezy
Like I was fucking in this.
Mandy B.
You wore that around him.
Eden
Throw that away.
Weezy
Doesn't matter if it's a special night. Like, it means like in general.
Eden
Listen, whatever.
Mandy B.
Well, if you got the bread to change my whole wardrobe, let me know what we talk about.
Weezy
Lingerie, a little something.
Mandy B.
Nah, lingerie these nuts, nigga, I wore these pants around that same.
Eden
Lingerie these nuts. Yeah. 30.
Weezy
We go into possessions real Quick.
Mandy B.
Yes.
Weezy
Because I was definitely possessive. No, no, I mean. I mean possession. Okay, so let me ask you a question. Maybe this is my little quick ugd. If someone gave me a pricey gift.
Mandy B.
Okay, let's talk about maybe what's pricey?
Weezy
Let's say like over a thousand. Right?
Mandy B.
Okay.
Weezy
Right. And it's an everyday carry, so it's like, let's say a wallet. Right? And we're not. We're no longer a thing.
Mandy B.
Oh, this is real.
Weezy
Right? And let's say. And let's say I have a new significant other. Am I. Is it okay if I still have said wallet to be used every day?
Mandy B.
You know what's crazy about both of y'all bringing this up? Yes, it's okay to have the wallet. Because you know what? No nigga ever asks or says, hey, yo, we need a new mattress, and mattresses are expensive as fuck.
Eden
Oh, you think? I'm not asking.
Mandy B.
You are not making a bitch by you're asking.
Weezy
You're asking a woman to buy a mattress.
Mandy B.
You know how expensive mattresses are?
Weezy
A good one could be.
Mandy B.
Oh, nigga, I'm asking for tempur pedic if you think you coming in. And I want the shit that I got now that goes up and down because I got acid.
Weezy
I want the numbers.
Eden
She got payment plans. We gonna make it happen.
Weezy
Oh, okay. I feel. Oh, wow. Wow. You gonna make her do a beaming plan?
Mandy B.
No, no, no. He gotta buy it.
Weezy
Oh, you gonna buy it.
Eden
Paint a scenario. If we get. Let's say we get a new apartment. I don't got my mattress or whatever like that. But you got a mattress. You're not moving in the apartment with that mattress. I promise.
Mandy B.
No, but what about y'all get together, you both have your own separate apartments.
Eden
Okay, wait.
Weezy
What if it's a.
Mandy B.
You not buying her a new mattress that you knew she was just fucking her old niggas on?
Eden
What I'm saying is if it ever comes.
Weezy
No, I am.
Eden
What I'm saying is, if it ever come to a place where we like living together, you know, I mean, I know I just threw that in there.
Mandy B.
But if we living together. No, you're at it too much.
Weezy
That's when I would be like, keep your wallet, ladies.
Mandy B.
Keep your mattress.
Weezy
However, it's a nice wallet.
Mandy B.
Remove your tattoo. That's where we're at. Possessions are not the same. I think covering a tattoo is fine. And here's what you can do. You ready? When you break up with this nigga, because nothing lasts forever. Go, go. Throw your ex's initials somewhere else on your body. Just go get the initials back again. Like tattoos. You could always just add them shits back to your body when this relationship ends.
Eden
Or just don't do it again.
Weezy
Or just don't do it again.
Eden
Just don't do it again.
Mandy B.
Cover it up.
Eden
Just wait until you.
Mandy B.
You know what? No, here we go. Ultimatum time. Oh, wait, they're already engaged.
Weezy
Who's engaged?
Eden
They're engaged.
Mandy B.
They're engaged.
Weezy
Oh, they're engaged.
Mandy B.
They're engaged.
Weezy
Girl, if you don't go cover up.
Eden
That damn tattoo before this wedding, she's super up.
Mandy B.
Wait, wait, wait, wait. My boyfriend and I have officially been together. Oh, I'm. No, no, no. That's. That's the last one. Hold on. I think they're engaged. I think they're engaged.
Weezy
Let's. Dramatic effect.
Mandy B.
No, we have plans to get engaged.
Weezy
Oh, yeah. Cover up that tattoo.
Mandy B.
Okay. I'm not gonna hold you. No, no, no, no, no. Cover up the tattoo. When he get you a ring. That's the answer.
Weezy
Okay, okay.
Mandy B.
I don't.
Weezy
I'm not mad at that.
Mandy B.
If he's making the commitment to really fuck with you, tell him you will get a cover up when you get that ring.
Weezy
What's wrong, Wolf?
Mandy B.
Yes. Fuck it. Should she do it before that to me?
Weezy
Honestly, Loki, she should do it before that too.
Eden
I think she. I think she should be open to doing it before. Especially if you're really. You sure that this is your person?
Weezy
Don't make it a birthday gift. Don't make it a Christmas gift. Don't make it a holiday gift. Just come in one day with her.
Mandy B.
Look at my ankle.

Podcast Summary: Decisions, Decisions – "Could Tattoos Be A Deal Breaker"
Episode Information:
Mandii B opens the discussion by sharing a personal dilemma about her relationship. She has two discreet tattoos—initials of past relationships—that her current boyfriend finds troubling.
Mandii B [02:54]: "Could two tiny tattoos of 2X's initials be a deal breaker for you?"
Mandii recounts her year-long relationship, highlighting the depth of her commitment and the future plans she shares with her partner, such as engagement and children. Despite these commitments, the tattoos from her past relationships have become a recurring source of tension.
Mandii emphasizes that these tattoos are small and not prominently displayed, and her boyfriend has never requested their removal, but they still cause him discomfort, especially during intimate moments.
Mandii B [04:31]: "He constantly uses the argument, what if I had my exes tattooed on me?"
WeezyWTF responds by assessing the situation from his perspective, expressing that while small tattoos may not inherently be problematic, the presence of exes' initials can symbolize unresolved feelings or a lack of full commitment to the current relationship.
WeezyWTF [07:55]: "She has to remove it. Valid."
Mandii B counters by reflecting on her background as a former polyamorous individual transitioning into a monogamous relationship, suggesting that her past may influence how she perceives the tattoos.
Mandii B [08:30]: "I think my leaning into being newly monogamous and a former poly person lets me know that I still have not let go of those feelings."
The hosts debate the balance between bodily autonomy and consideration for a partner's feelings, ultimately leaning towards the importance of prioritizing the current relationship's health over past associations.
Mandii B [09:42]: "You still hold those memories. You still probably have pictures and all the things with those people."
The consensus among the hosts is that if the tattoos are causing significant strain in the relationship, it's advisable for the person with the tattoos to consider covering them up or removing them to honor the partner's feelings and strengthen the relationship.
WeezyWTF [17:07]: "I agree. So our advice is if you really love this man, cover it up, not cheat."
Mandii B [17:24]: "You don't get a cookie for that. You should have been did that."
They further suggest practical steps, such as:
Mandii B [06:04]: "I have jokingly, like, been like, who is Marianne? Who is Antoinette?"
Mandy humorously questions the presence of others' names on a partner's body, highlighting the absurdity in some tattoo decisions.
WeezyWTF [08:10]: "I'm tightening."
Weezy emphasizes the significance of the tattoos' locations and their impact on the relationship dynamics.
Mandii B [12:03]: "I have a kiss on the back of my neck."
This highlights the extent of personal tattoos and their visibility.
WeezyWTF [17:58]: "They got daddy issues."
Weezy touches on underlying emotional factors that may influence tattoo choices and relationship behaviors.
Throughout the episode, Mandii B and WeezyWTF intertwine humor and candidness to address sensitive topics surrounding modern relationships. They emphasize the importance of mutual respect, open dialogue, and personal growth in navigating the complexities that tattoos and past relationships can introduce into new romantic partnerships.
Conclusion: In "Could Tattoos Be A Deal Breaker," Mandii B and WeezyWTF provide a thoughtful exploration of how personal symbols like tattoos can influence relationship dynamics. They advocate for introspection and honest communication, urging individuals to consider how their personal choices impact their significant others and the future of their relationships.
