Hey everyone, Jay Barton Mitchell here with a few announcements. I wanted to say first off, thanks to everyone for listening. The community and listenership is really growing and everyone who works on the show is very excited about that. We see episode five of season two as a mid season finale and as such we're going to be taking a bit longer of a break between the last episode and the rest of the season. I know the infrequency between episodes hasn't been ideal and I wanted to talk about that for a second. You may or may not know that the production staff for the show is comprised of exactly one person. Myself. I do all the editing, sound design and mixing, not to mention the writing, directing and recording. While this generally isn't an issue for production, I have been dealing with a difficult family matter for the past several months. My mom had a stroke at the end of last year which has been followed by other medical complications. Unfortunately, as an only child, it's fallen to me to be the primary caretaker in this case, which is made a little more difficult because she lives several hours away currently. This has obviously impacted my ability to work on the show and stick to our monthly release cycle. I only say all this so you guys know why we've been slower getting episodes out as of late. Working on the show is something I really love and it's also a great distraction and something that helps me deal with and process all the emotions I have going on about the current situation. And I hope you'll bear with me as I juggle priorities. Which is part of the reason for our upcoming hiatus, during which we plan to catch up on production as much as possible. We don't expect the hiatus to be overly long and plan to be back regularly releasing episodes again soon, but we'd rather have some delays and produce the episodes to the quality and immersion you expect than just rushing them out. In addition to that, however, we want to spend some time addressing one issue we've gotten feedback about. The overwhelming majority of comments we get are positive. People love the show, which is great, but we do hear that because the sound mix is so heavily effects based, at times it makes hearing the dialogue difficult. The effects obviously are a big part of Derelict and we don't want to lose the immersion they bring, but we do want to address the dialogue aspect. So during the hiatus we are going to remaster all of season one fathom with an emphasis on dialogue clarity. Once that's done, we will at a later date also remaster season two. You may have noticed an improvement in the sound mix for Episode five. Hopefully that's because a lot of the new workflow we've developed for remastering Season one we implemented in the current episode. As a result, going forward I really think the mix is going to be much better. But as always, keep us posted and let us know what you think. Your comments are always valuable and appreciated. Last but not least, we're also going to feature a few other awesome shows in the meantime that we personally dig and want to share with you, so watch your feeds for that.
