It's taking two years at any age to go through the seasons twice. Because in that two years this is only part A, this is part B. And in this two years it's your obligation to yourself. Unless you you sterilize yourself and then kids will not be impacted, in which case I don't care what adults want to do. That's silly. To mess up their lives. Irrelevant. It only matters when you take on the profound responsibility of another human being. Children. A child. Okay, so we take two years to know his family. Not once a year to visit. Really to know his family, see how he functions with his family. See how those prospective in laws function with each other. See how they treat you immediately. See what their philosophies and attitudes are about. Maybe their other children and kids observe all that. That should even come first because people are impacted horribly if they get married to somebody who is unhealthily bound to the parents. Mama's boy, mama's girl. So you spend two years going through successes, failures, illness, problems. Covid this, that and the other thing to see how you function together, not just date, really observe this. That's how he gets along with your family. Is he respectful? Is he kind? Is he thoughtful? Is he nice? Is he fun? Is he serious? That's part A. Part B is an essential in my opinion. And I, if I had, if I were the red queen, I'd lop off some heads. But other than that, I would make sure that nobody could get married without six months of premarital counseling with somebody trained in premarital counseling. I read once, I forget what journal that about 80% of the time the counselor could discern whether or not it was a marriage that was going to make it. So six months of premarital counseling. Why? asked, were these things discussed? Money, if it's a second marriage, prenups for one's own kids and all the problems. But let's leave that aside because 70% of those relationships end up in divorce. So let's just talk about. And they're usually older people, so let's just talk about the first marriage. Do you discuss the money. Do you discuss sex? Do you discuss kids? Do you discuss politics? Do you discuss religion? Do you discuss sleep patterns? I mean, everything? Do you talk about. No, of course you don't. Those aren't romantic and you might not like what you hear. What about pets? Somebody really wants a cat, a dog, a bird, the other person. Absolutely not. Okay, all of these things need to be discussed so there are no surprises. You make three babies and then go, uh, oh. So the way to answer this question is when you have kids, mom should be home raising them, dad should be providing and protecting, period. Nice, cohesive homes, especially if you're enthusiastic. That's the other thing talking about. Are you actually going to raise your kids or dump them with a nanny in a daycare center. Who likes to budget, who likes to spend too much, who keeps giving money away to the ne' er do wells in their family, and who thinks, yeah, no, all of these things. A good premarital counselor will approach. Okay, but the question was, why don't you address more circumstances where the father leaves the family and the mother has no choice but to go to work? I think it's very sad. I spend most of my time on this program trying to get women to make better choices in the first place. To minimize the possibility. Can't make it zero. To minimize the possibility that any of this happens. So that's the approach I take. Minimize it. If it hits that hard, go home to the parents. I think it's good when kids can live with grandparents. It's very good for them. Research indicates that profound contact with grandparents is wonderful for the mental health and socializing of kids. So that worked out for me.
