My remarks have to do with manipulation, whether it's man over a woman or woman over a man. Worst part about being manipulated is that sometimes you don't even realize it's happening. You feel so confused and guilty and maybe it's me and unsure of yourself. Well, the guilt is very important because manipulation always starts with guilt, Where everything is turned around and somehow it's your fault. You go out to a restaurant and he or she says, well, it was okay, I would have chosen something different. But as long as you're happy, That's all that matters. Of course you're being made miserable at the moment. If you didn't notice, guilt has nothing to do with love. Laying guilt is not part of love. So the minute you realize repetitively, I'm being made to feel guilty for stuff that's stupid. What's going on here? You're being manipulated. Manipulation is not love. Do not be in a manipulating relationship. Manipulators force their own problems onto you, like the opening call. The reason I'm so controlling is I'm scared you will leave me. Well, you think that's being open? I call that being manipulative. I have a problem. Therefore, you cannot have friends. You cannot be anywhere. I don't know where you are or what you're doing or I can't be in constant contact. That's not love. And if he or she has that degree of insecurity, you need to go somewhere and get it fixed. Manipulators make you doubt yourself. You don't trust yourself. He or she is pointing out what you're doing wrong, how you could have done it better, what your weaknesses are, that you need them, and you get all twisted around. Manipulators spend a lot of time making you feel as if you cannot think for yourself. And also you're responsible for their emotions. What? Yeah, somebody's making you feel responsible for every emotion they have. You're being manipulated.

Manipulators lie, mislead. They make believe they're interested in the things you're interested in and then as the situation goes on, they peel off one part of a time. Till you realize that you're just appeasing them all of the time. I mean, compromises are important, but changing your life around to appease somebody? No. What I'd like you to do is watch the classic movie with Charles Boyer, black and white, called Gaslight. That's where the concept gaslighting comes from. Turn of the prior century he's just so wonderful and he's so loving and he's so special and he's so kind and he's so caring and he's so wonderful. Except weird things are happening in the house and he's telling you, no, they're not making you feel crazier and crazier because ultimately he's trying to find some jewelry that's worth billions and he's going to put you in a mental hospital so he has control over your money. That was the plot, but you have to watch it to see how subtly this works and the person leads you to believe. Oh, and the gas lighting, the lights were all gas run and they would dim and then come up. Dim and then come up. And when they did, she would say, look what's happening. And he would go, nothing's happening. You can't see the light. Nothing's happening. You need to take your pills and go rest. Gaslighting somebody, making them think they're nuts.
