Yeah.
Dr. Laura
Welcome back to the program.
Caller
Yes, I just, I called about a month ago. My husband, I had found some text messages that my husband of 30 years, over 30 years had with a colleague and we, I shared with him the pod, you know, through the podcast my phone call into you. He listened to it and we followed the advice that you had gave. We went and talked to the colleague together, the two of us, and things happened like blocking numbers on his phone, blocking certain emails, taking work email off of his phone. So I just wanted to let you know that things are going really well. I saw effort on his part to maintain our relationship and to take action to not further any kind of personal relationship with a colleague.
Dr. Laura
Yeah. Not make that a hobby.
Caller
Yeah.
Dr. Laura
Are you, are you two being cuter with each other, I hope?
Caller
Yeah, a lot more. A lot more observant, a lot more attention. You know, it really shook me up, you know, because you. There's some things that you said that were really hard, hard to hear and shook me up. And I told him how serious this was for me and how, you know, it shook me up royally. Out of 30 some years, I never had any kind of suspicion or doubt in our relationship. And this was probably the first time ever. Right. Something like that happened.
Dr. Laura
Good that we had three decades without this nonsense. So that says something to character.
Caller
Yes. But. But yeah, he. I just wanted you to know I heard you suggest on the last caller that they have an intervention with, you know, a daughter. And I just thought about, you know, where you suggested that my husband and I go talk to this colleague, and we did. And we, you know, he shared with her that.
Dr. Laura
And what was her reaction in front of you? I'm dying to hear that.
Caller
She was surprised I walked into the room. I did not hear an apology from her, but she did say something along the lines, well, how do you want me to contact you? And he said, through my work email. Like. And she goes, well, I could delete your phone number from my phone. And he said that would be fine.
Dr. Laura
She was kind of business like. Huh, Mean. Or she was kind of business like. You're describing her being kind of business like.
Caller
Yeah, yeah. And she. She goes, oh, well, I was. I just thought we had a lot in common and we had a lot of similarities in our life and I just was sharing, you know, our commonalities is what she said.
Dr. Laura
Yeah, okay. Well, probably she had stomach ache ever since.
Caller
Yeah. He's making efforts like he avoids. He doesn't go down to lunch, and so he's avoiding places where there might be a conversation. And, you know, he said to me that he. And, you know, whatever the truth may be, but he said to me he never thought it was more than just a friendship. But now that I brought all that up and he listened to that, the feedback, you know, from our phone call, he's. He wonders like there might have been some intentionality there in the contacting, you know, texting him at night. So of course, I think his eyes were open a little bit. Good. To where this could have led. So I just want to thank you.
