If it's your nephew, then either your brother or your sister is dealing with this. And most of the time, especially these days, parents have given up being leaders in their families. They don't want the stress, they don't want the confrontation, they don't want the angry feelings. And these days, adult children, if you make them the slightest bit pissy, they go, you're dead, you're gone. Goodbye. Because they don't want to face anything, deal with anything, put it in a context, realize anything beyond their immediate feelings. I don't think it's worth it for you since you're not the parent. If you were the parent, I'd have a whole different answer to this. But you're not the parent. Don't get everybody mad at you. It's just going to make family discord and nobody's going to talk to you and don't bother. But it might be useful to say to the parent, whichever is your sibling, to talk to them privately and say, we're not. We're not holding up a civilization this way.
