Thank you Dr. Laura. So great to hear your voice and I listen to you and I love how you're so honest. I just turned 63 and I just want to make sure I made the right decision regarding a friend. Quote unquote I've gone on a couple trips with her and her family. She's a difficult person, but I can usually get along with most personalities. I'm out of business.

What makes her. What do you mean? What makes her difficult?

I'm like, oh, I feel like I'm walking on eggshells. Like I have to be careful. Things I say, you know, and then.

[Dr. Laura]

What sorts. What sorts of things would you say that make her behave?

[Caller (Gail)]

How? Just little things. It's not even like anything that's really significant. I mean, it's just like she. She can be a little flippant, you know, And I don't really want to argue. I'm not an argumentative person, so. But you know, she's. She was being nicer to me. Everything seemed fine. And she asked me to go on this trip with her brother and sister in law to Scandinavia. And it was a real great deal. So I went and I was abused. I was mentally abused. And I'm tough. Like, you can't. I'm not one of those. Oh my goodness, you hurt my feelings.

Would you be so kind as to give me some of the scenarios that happened so I could have a better understanding?

Sure, sure. So here's my birthday. I'm with. We had jet lag. Her sister in law and I slept a little more in the hotel so we could go. She tells us where to go. She doesn't give us the right directions. We're walking for 45 minutes, we. And then we get to the place they're supposed to be and she. Without us. And then. So the sister in law said, hey, let's go get some meat ourselves. So I go there and I got. She comes and goes, how dare you. You laugh at that. She's berating. In Scandinavia, people don't yell, people don't argue. There's not. And she's making a scene. It's my birthday. That is my birthday day. Making a scene. I had to get up from the table and I said, can you please leave me alone? She was berating me and breaking. She's a trial attorney. She was. She's berating me like I was on trial. Like, you know.

So you're questioning whether or not leaving her out of your life was a bad decision.
