Thank you for listening to my morning monologue brought to you by Golden Crest Metals. Find out how gold and silver can protect what you have worked so hard to build this visit goldencrestmetals.com DrLora remember, you can hear my radio program daily on SiriusXM triumph and connect with me 24 7@drlora.com want to talk about this psychobabble stuff? Triggering. I'm triggered. You're triggering me. They're triggering me. That's a trigger. When I was a kid, that was the name of a horse on television. Whose horse was that? I can't remember. Now somebody will remember and they'll tell me, okay, not the Lone Ranger. Was it the Lone Ranger? No. I don't remember anyway. But this triggering again is this mentality that you're a victim because something triggered you. Something upset you, irritated you, frustrated you, annoyed you, hurt your feelings. Whatever it was, it wasn't good. But when I think of pulling a trigger, I think of immediately. A bullet comes out immediately. Human beings shouldn't be like a gun. How you know if you're going to bring it closer? Roy Rogers that was before my time, though. Something was before my time. I feel so happy.

Okay,
Dr. Laura Schlessinger
you have to stop reacting too quickly to upsets. So if you're triggered, what do you do besides become a whining, demanding, crying mess victim? So you need to learn to build a gap between the trigger and your anger action. How do you do that? Three steps that I want you to think about. 1. Recognize your body's early warning sign. You get choked up the tension. Okay, you feel face get red. Whatever it is, your hands start shaking, your eyelashes start twitching. Whatever it is, recognize your body's early warning sign to a trigger. And then you pause. You take a breath that will immediately change how you view the situation. When you're chest gets tight, your jaw clenches your heart starts racing. That's a habit. So spotting these physical clues early on tells you that your brain's alarm system alarm, alarm, alarm is turning on

you even think or speak. So pause, reset, and wait. Force yourself. Force yourself. I can't. Force yourself to stop for a few seconds. Few seconds could be minutes. But a few seconds. Instead of answering right away, breathe. Take a slow breath through your nose. Let a longer breath out through your mouth. It's the one out that does the job. This lowers stress signals in your body.

Step away, leave the room or pause the conversation if your anger or panic is just exploding. Rethink the trigger. Check the facts. An emotional reaction isn't necessarily a proper one for the trigger. Ask yourself if you are truly in some kind of emotional or physical danger or just uncomfortable. I get that especially from women. I became uncomfortable and so I had to become a lioness. Look for other reasons. Consider if the other person's behavior is just about their own bad day rather than an attack on you. You have to learn to stop being emotional emotionally reactive. It is very important that you learn to control it or you destroy relationships and family. Make space between the stimulus and your response.
