There was this, like, one story of us growing up like that I always think of when I'm explaining, like, what kind of character you are in. Like, the chaos that just ensued in our household. So we used to grow up going to Lake Centipe and we'd ski. And honestly, some of the best memories. I still wish we were family. Like, what the happened?

I don't know.

Seven. Obviously things changed. So, like, my mom had four of us under the age of six. We're all very close in age. Like, I'm 27, Chad's 25, and we're like, you know, Libras. Libra gang.

So my mom would need babysitters, obviously, to take like a little weight off. They could go out to dinner and have a good time, but they would always hire the most janky ass, random New Hampshire ass bitch babysitters.

No offense to New Hampshire, but like, the. I don't know where they looked. Craigslist maybe.

I have no idea.

It was a little suspect and sketch.

I'd love to know, though, because some characters came through the house.

So there was this one, her name was Tara. And I hope she's watching this now, because you're a weird creep. How do you know her name Tara? Because she's ingrained in my memory, bro. Ingrained. She came in, was really into gospel music, which respect. And so they left to go out to dinner and have, like, a romantic date night. My parents and, like, left us with the four of us. And usually we would just, like, watch Pirates of the Caribbean in the basement, but this. She did not want us to have fun.

And you guys were bouncing off the walls. How old were you? Like, six years old?

[Chad]

Like, yeah, I was probably six. Sam was four.

[Halle]

And there was this loft. You tell the story.

Yeah, yeah. So this, like, crazy lady comes to babysit us, and she, like, sends us all up to our rooms. Make sure she has control under control.

She just wanted to listen to gospel.

[Chad]

Yeah, yeah. So we hear her, like, listening to gospel and. And no.

[Halle]

Remember she put you in the loft and took the ladder away.

[Chad]

Yeah, yeah. So me and my younger brother were the two youngest, so she wanted. And we were, like, just out of control, obviously, like the two boys of the family, like you said, bouncing off the walls. And she comes in and, like, locks. Puts me and Sam up in a loft and takes the ladder away.

So it would be like a ten foot drop.

[Chad]

So it was like a ten.

[Halle]

So dangerous.

[Chad]

Yeah, yeah. Like, looking back, it's like, all right, like, let's fight. But, like, now it's like, we did it. We handled it the right way. So we were like, okay, we need to take a piss. And she wouldn't let us get down to go to the bathroom.

She sent up a bucket.

[Chad]

And so she sent up a bucket and we were like, oh, word. Like, let's do this thing. So me and Sam piss in this bucket, and we're like, hey, Tara, like, we're. We're done now. Can you come get the bucket? She comes over all over her head, dude. And it was honestly, like, one of my prouder moments, dude.

Honestly. She deserved it.

[Chad]

Oh, she deserved every part of that.

She was, like, horrified, and she.

So she would, like, treat us poorly so we would, like, come back at her. Like, she would be downstairs, listen to her little gospel music, and we'd come down, like, sneakily. We'd go into, like, outside. Yeah, yeah. We go in, like, the pots and pans drawer, grab some pans, and she's like, ah.

We put her through hell.

The only babysitter I think I've ever liked is Carmina.

And granted, I didn't really go through dad to get my job, but I think definitely, like, down the road, I picture me and him doing business together.

Yeah. I mean, I always say this to you because me and Chad are just, like, so much alike in so many ways. Whether it's chaos or not, we share a lot of similarities, and I feel like we used to get along the best, and we still do get along the best. Obviously, we have our moments, but you could do content. I think you could do this. You could sit down every week and do something like this.

I think about a lot, like, so many things that I could be doing. And I, like, always have this, like, level of creativity that I think is only right to, you know, apply to my work life.

He's a perfect child in a lot of ways. But, like, growing up, like, it was just me and Chad against the world. It felt like we would be the. Because my older sister wasn't really a big partier.

She's always been like the mother figure.

She's. Yeah. She's the oldest and she's a girl. And she just always was like, kind of locked in and kind of just like, not a big drinker. Didn't really do any drugs.

It's like when we're back in, like, the twin bed and like, we're like, back under the roof. I feel like I'm gonna get grounded again.

They have us on a leash for sure.

But you know what they do? Like, I was thinking about it today, like, they do welcome a lot of people in our house that, you know, they haven't even met yet. And you know, they. But I feel like we also bring around a lot more. Like, as we've gotten older, like, we've Brought around one, like, less people into.

I mean I look back on my old videos, I just like literally wasn't doing anything. I like was super lost. I was 25. Being still a hostess, that crew. No idea. I had a classics major. Like I talked about about this in one of my last episodes too. I was like I did not know what I wanted to do. And honestly Covid kind of gave me some leeway to figure that out. And I kept seeing people online like doing the whole like thirst trappy thing and like tick tock was really popping off. But I wasn't seeing a bunch of like you know, people talking to the camera and like personalities and like keeping it raw, real and authentic. People were acting like they don't get hungover. Like that's never been a thing.

People were acting like they, they film their good side.

Yeah. I mean, you know the saying like social media is like a highlight reel.

I feel like it should also be like a low light reel and like room to grow, you know.

He knows what he's doing. He knows how to play his cards.

Yeah, yeah. He knows he's a manipulator and gaslighter.

He, like, out games. The game. Like, my own game. And then I feel stupid and insecure.

[Chad]

I know, but I see you with someone older. Someone, like, not even older. Just someone, like, who here is confident in themselves, but also, like, will tell you when you're in the wrong.

[Halle]

You know, I definitely need someone that's gonna, like, put me in my place.

[Chad]

Yeah. Yeah. Like, you can't just have someone that, like, you're able to walk all over you just because, like, you're the. And he's a. You know what I mean? Like, I think you need someone who will, like, balance you out.

[Halle]

Yeah.

[Chad]

And, like, obviously there's people like that out there, and you'll find them. But the way I appreciate the fact that you don't, like, rush it. Like, you chill and you're able to, like, take a. I always say, like.

[Halle]

I'm doing them a favor. Like, everyone's like, why have you been single for so long? I'm like, I can't.

[Chad]

No.

[Halle]

Put someone else through that.

[Chad]

You have. So. No, I wouldn't say that because you have so much to offer a relationship. And obviously, like, besides, like, like, obviously you're beautiful and you're hilarious and this and that, but, like, you have so much. Like, the more you grow up, the more you're gonna have to offer, like, someone else. And, like, I know we're in our 20s. Like, we're still learning right from wrong. We're still learning, you know, this and that. And I think, you know, the grass.

[Halle]

Is always greener, though. I feel like whenever it's all about.

[Chad]

Timing, like, it could be the right people, but if the timing's wrong, it's not going to work.

[Halle]

I feel like all my friends are, like. Like, entering very serious eras of their lives right now.

[Chad]

Sometimes I feel like that's just because they feel like they need to rush that.

[Halle]

No, I always say this. I'm like. I feel like society pushes, like, milestones on people for certain ages. Like, okay, like, you're 27. You should be moving in with a girlfriend, being serious with them. Oh, you're 29. You should be getting engaged at least. Oh, you're 31. You should start having kids, getting married.

[Chad]

Yeah.

[Halle]

You know, like, society, like, kind of puts you into different boxes.

[Chad]

Yeah.

[Halle]

And then I think people kind of panic. So I always see these people just settle. Not. I'm not talking about, obviously, Lauren and Jordan. Like, they've been together forever. And, like, there's exceptions. Tommy, like, Emma and Peyton, like, those are people who are successful relationships.

[Chad]

A big part of it. Those are people who are one financially ready.

[Halle]

Yes. Yeah.

[Chad]

And that's a huge part of it. And, you know, you can't do anything. And if you can't provide for yourself, you're not going to be able to provide for something.

[Halle]

Exactly. I'm more talking about, like, the people I went, like, high school and college with. Like, some of those people, I'm like, what are we doing here? Like this?

[Chad]

No.

[Halle]

We didn't want to look out the fishbowl that much. Like, what are we doing here?

[Chad]

Yeah. The more you experience, the more you'll learn how to do it better the next time.

[Halle]
