Let's get Extra Dirty
Hallie Batchelder
Foreign. Okay guys, welcome back to Extra Dirty. I have my good friend here. I can't even take you seriously.
Mike Maylak
I can't take myself seriously. I don't know if you've been able to tell that.
Hallie Batchelder
Introduce yourself.
Mike Maylak
My name is Mike Maylak from the Impulsive Podcast and also friend of the show and friend of Hallie Bachelder. Long time here, so happy to be joining her in the studio. Today we're going to be talking about mental unhealth. We're going to be talking about the science behind trips the size of my as well as SSRIs and many other things. Welcome to the show.
Hallie Batchelder
We have to squeeze something wholesome in here at some point.
Mike Maylak
That's the tip I'm on right now.
Hallie Batchelder
No. Yeah, I feel like, it should be like 90% messy and like the other 10%, we can like, you know, bring us back down to earth.
Mike Maylak
The mental health stuff.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I feel like we have good banter on that.
Mike Maylak
I'm going to be honest. I'm mentally unwell right now.
Hallie Batchelder
Why?
Mike Maylak
My, My anxiety's through the roof, dude. I started this new. Like, do you notice how as a society we've just decided it's okay to just pump your body full of whatever thing is like hot that week?
Hallie Batchelder
Like vodka? No. Oh, like peptides?
Mike Maylak
Yeah, like peptides and like different, like supplements. They have me on something like. Okay, so I've been on this like crazy hormonal journey for like the past five years. Right. I've been on testosterone. Okay. Started at about 37 years old. No, 36 years old. This is like a big topic in the mayor.
Hallie Batchelder
Mike Maylak
I just said five years ago. So five years ago I started it. And then as of recently, because of the bullying online related to my non. Children. Right.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Bearing.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
My age. That's not really the only reason I want to have the option to have a child if I so choose to do so. Testosterone kills your sperm, ladies, if you're watching this right now, your man's on test. Yeah, you're liking that. Five, six times a daily pounding from that trt. But there's nothing swimming in there. So if you're trying to get pregnant, it's not going to. It's not going to happen.
Hallie Batchelder
Wait, really? Yeah, I feel like it would do the opposite effect.
Mike Maylak
So. Exactly.
Hallie Batchelder
Can you bank your sperm?
Mike Maylak
So that's what I'm doing right now. So. So. So exogenous testosterone, when injected, tells your male body, I don't need to use this system to produce testosterone and sperm because I'm getting it elsewhere. Your body will always prioritize systems and shut other systems down when they're not needed. So for the past five years, my body's not produced any of its own test or sperm, so.
Hallie Batchelder
But it makes you here.
Mike Maylak
Yeah. Your libido goes through the roof.
Hallie Batchelder
Oh, maybe I'll get on it.
Mike Maylak
Some girls do.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Really?
Mike Maylak
As a female, potentially. Halle Beard childer.
Hallie Batchelder
Right now I'm highly bald Shelter.
Mike Maylak
That would be a twist. So, hey, so am I. I'm always. I'm Mikey bald elder. Yeah. But yeah, so I'm. I'm like. Over the past month, I got off it.
Hallie Batchelder
Are you feeling weird?
Mike Maylak
Yeah. Well, not only that, but then I started adding in other nad. I'm on a bunch of HCG. I'm on, like, a bunch of different PEPs and. And you know what I'm saying, You just never know how you're gonna feel. In the past few days have just been like, my left hand will just be numb.
Hallie Batchelder
Oh.
Mike Maylak
For no reason.
Hallie Batchelder
I feel like you should get that checked out.
Mike Maylak
No, because when you live life like that, you're just always at the doctor. Like, how many days have you woken up with, like, a heart thing, and you're like, my chest is gonna explode.
Hallie Batchelder
Well, like, most weekends.
Mike Maylak
That's what I'm saying.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, but, like, I haven't been the doctor in, like, three years.
Mike Maylak
That's not good. That's not just. You're like. Well, you were always rich, I guess, but you're, like, independently rich now.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, but, like, I just. More like, what if I have, like, a incurable disease and, like, 10 days to live? Like, I'd rather not know.
Mike Maylak
You would rather not know if you had 10 days left to live? Yeah, if you had 10 days left to live, you wouldn't want to know that. And I don't even want to say this.
Hallie Batchelder
No.
Mike Maylak
Like, you wouldn't want to try some, like, crazy, like, there's nothing you're not doing right now because you don't think it's will be good for you in the next, like, five years of your life. But if you had 10 days, maybe you'd do it.
Hallie Batchelder
Well, I'm going to a visa tonight with you.
Mike Maylak
Let's get into it, dog. Hallie made it on our first trip.
Hallie Batchelder
But I'm not gonna be on this trip.
Mike Maylak
That's all right.
Hallie Batchelder
I'm reformed.
Mike Maylak
That's completely there. My trips are not like that. Any trips that I go on with my friends are not like that. There's no expectations. Every girl has. Usually has their own bed or bedroom with another girl or whatever. Like, there's no expectations. This is an interesting topic because as you've seen more and more on TikTok and Instagram over this summer, everybody's talking about these trips, these Santro pay trips. And it's been like that for the past couple years. You just got off one.
Hallie Batchelder
I've not. I just got back from Santa TR on Friday, but I've never done Euro Summer because I'm a Nantucket girl.
Mike Maylak
Correct.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
So this is all new to you. You did, but you did Santa pay. What'd you think?
Hallie Batchelder
I really liked it. It was a brand trip, but, like, they wanted to, like, actually, like, rip it and, like, made sure we all had fun. We went to the best spots and it was a blast.
Mike Maylak
And you got. Yeah. You guys went to some of the. You went to. What's the club they're called again? Lily's.
Hallie Batchelder
Lily's, right?
Mike Maylak
You went there. Good spot. I don't think you went to Shalona, right?
Hallie Batchelder
During the day.
Mike Maylak
Shalona is like one of the hot spots in San tr.
Hallie Batchelder
Went to a beach club during the day towards, like, Batel area.
Mike Maylak
But maybe or something like that.
Hallie Batchelder
Something like that.
Mike Maylak
There's so many spots.
Hallie Batchelder
There's so many.
Mike Maylak
Sandro Bay is cool. Ibiza is crazy. Ibiza is like. Like, we had David get on the show and he obviously has been a DJ for what, 20, 30, whatever years now. And he's very clear. Like, Ibiza is separated completely from everywhere else on the planet. Like, Miami gets close at times, but, like, Iza is insane.
Hallie Batchelder
I'm, like, scared.
Mike Maylak
You kind of should be a little bit. But you're only there for. You're only there for what, three nights?
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah. Which is crazy that I came back to do this.
Mike Maylak
Yeah. Which is. But it's good, though. But anyways, on these trips, right?
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Sometimes, like, girls will tell me or, like, girls will go on the trips and they'll.
Announcer
And.
Mike Maylak
And this is like a common experience from. They'll get there and the guys will look at and be like, oh, thought there was another bed. You know what I'm saying? Like, looks like you'll have to share, like, kind of like creepy. Yeah. You really never know, like, what you're gonna get when you go on those trips. And like, I try to, like, make this as relatable to the audience as possible, but maybe there's really no way to make it relatable that, like, a guy you don't know may have, like, DM'd you and said, like, yo, I'm doing Ibiza with my homies. We have boats, we have choppers, we have $30,000 a nightclub bookings. You're going to be eating at Casamarca and Leo and all these world class restaurants.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Do you want to come because you' hot or because you have a hot group of friends or whatever?
Hallie Batchelder
I think some girls would be down.
Mike Maylak
No, no. This is very common. This is very common.
Hallie Batchelder
I'm too. I feel like I'm not a naive person and if some random guy asked me to come to Sandra Pay.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
Like, it would be a red flag to me. I'm really only going because I've known you for like 110 years.
Mike Maylak
You're not that. You're not like, I'm not. Well, I want to clarify, too. Not every girl that, like, dude, on our trips, the 90% of the people on the trips are not fornicating with people in the house. You know what I'm saying? Like, it's like, now I can't speak for other people's. People's programs, they call them, like, that's what they're called. Like, when you have a program, right. It's like drivers. And the amount of work that goes into the trips is crazy.
Hallie Batchelder
It's like your own brand.
Mike Maylak
What time are the chefs coming at? Like, what. What days are they cooking? Like, what days of the restaurants? How much are we spending on Dom Dolla on Friday? And, like, all this stuff. And it's a lot, especially for a childless 41 year old.
Hallie Batchelder
Like, do you even want kids? You want the option?
Mike Maylak
I want the option so you could
Hallie Batchelder
be a good dad. Low key, though.
Mike Maylak
I just did a vlog this past week where I, like, practice parenting for 24 hours with Corinna. It was pretty fun. I think the one thing that, like, I hadn't been expecting out of it was it felt pretty cool to, like, know that the kid felt safe because I was there. Like, that. That, like, responsibility of that role and, like, knowing that, like, as you become an adult, like, you know this, like, even as a man, like, I swear to you, like, there's so many times in life where metaphorically, you wish you could, like, reach your hand out and, like, grab something that will make you feel safe. And as a kid, like, that's always. That was always your mom or your dad's hand.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Like when you're crossing a street or like when you're walking through a store or whatever. And, like, as you get older, like, those hands start to not be around, especially if you're like, move across the country or, you know, as you get older, you know, I don't want to get into that, but, yeah, you know, so it's kind of cool, like, knowing that, like, you can offer that solace to someone in their, like, tender age. And that was. That was like, an interesting thing that I've never really done before because as, like, an uncle, my sisters are always around, so something happens, they just come in and get the kid.
Hallie Batchelder
So you've never supervised a kid without their parents around? Like, that was the first time you ever, like, washed over a kid. Like, baby sat almost, maybe.
Announcer
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
I guess babysitting is not really a man's job.
Mike Maylak
I'm just supposed to make money playing trips.
Hallie Batchelder
Whose kid was it that's pretty much it.
Mike Maylak
Oh, one of Kurta's friends.
Hallie Batchelder
Okay.
Mike Maylak
She just, like, let us, like, user kids for a couple hours. But it was pretty fun, honestly. It was. It was a good time. And could you see me having kids?
Hallie Batchelder
I'm actually sneaky, super maternal.
Mike Maylak
So not in this current Halle era, and I'm not. And you've. And you've certainly, like, changed a lot. And I, like, I'd love to, like, get into, like, the different eras of, like, what we've known about each other. Because, like, I was thinking about it last night. You just told me. You're like. I remember. I was like, how do I, like, prep for this episode? You're like, yo, just come with mad stories, which is, like, the hardest thing. Like, I want. I was, like, hoping you would say the exact opposite. Like, I'm gonna drive this thing. And you're like, it's come with mad stories. Like, now I have to do bits. But I knew I met you, so I've known you for so long. For so long. Pre. I call it Pre Boob Alley. Or Pre Ali.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Right.
Mike Maylak
Like the Earth. The early holidays where I was just like, yo, this girl's crazy. Like, I got introduced to her on the nightlife sc.
Announcer
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
And she was always nuts. I mean, she was. And I mean, like, you know how many girls I know and, like, around you are always in the 99th percentile. Like, maniac. Like, not scared to really rage till, like, late. And, like, then hit me up and be like, oh, like, you'll never believe who I fought last night. And this was not now. This is, like, earlier days. Although you tell me yesterday that you got some good dudes.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, the girl's gotta eat.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Facts.
Hallie Batchelder
But, like, I'm not, like, going out all the time and bringing someone home every time.
Mike Maylak
When I first met you, that was more likely. Okay, okay. So I remember when I first met you, and that was, like, when we, like, had our, like, little fling, right? And we smashed.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah. We ever smashed. Yeah.
Mike Maylak
But it was just so. It was so late. But anyways, then the next time I saw you. Yeah, you were in Boston. It was St. Patrick's Day. You were wearing all green. And I, like, go. I like going to this hotel room at this party, and there's, like, people playing beer pong, and it's like, a bunch of, like, creators and, like, influencers, as Portnoy would say. And all of a sudden, there's Hallie Bachelor, and she had just gotten boobs, so she was really. She was ripping and feeling it, like, crazy. And I was like, dude, this girl's. And I. There's. There's definitely been, like, a couple. A couple of my friends, you know, creators that.
Hallie Batchelder
Probably a handful.
Mike Maylak
Yeah. A handful that you've had a good time with.
Hallie Batchelder
I'm trying to think of, like, I'm off the top of my head.
Mike Maylak
I mean, I can name for you, trying to think of who else and then definitely, like, some. Like, some.
Hallie Batchelder
Oh, yeah.
Mike Maylak
But I will say this. As someone that truly knows how things look behind the scenes, like, you definitely have, like, changed, I think. I think, like, I used to look
Hallie Batchelder
a lot different, too. I used to be, like, yassified. Like, tons of filler, bleached blonde hair, and I. I looked kind of nuts. But, like, it worked for the time, for that era.
Mike Maylak
Yeah. I think, like, the new you is just, like, clean girl for the most part. And. And it's, like, messed up. It's messed up because we. We have Gary Vee on our show.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
This weekend. I love Gary Vee. He's just such a kind person and just, like, gives everybody their flowers. Like, really just, like, asks you questions. He genuinely cares about you. Like, I. I love that.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
He was like, dude, he started the show with this. He's like, I see how much you get online.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
The audience, like, you're. Oh, like, every day there's a viral video, like, too old. Can't be doing this. Settle down, start a family. Like, that whole thing.
Announcer
Right.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah. I don't want people give a.
Mike Maylak
Well, we got into that, too. But the first thing he said was, like, you're telling me. And this, like, goes for you. And the reason I'm bringing it up is, like, you're telling me, like, you give someone this opportunity to go, like, travel the world with, like, the hottest, like, models, pageant winners, Instagram, whatever you want to call it. Like, travel or go on boats, eat dinners. Like, really, like, live this, like, really awesome life and be able to see the world that these people are going to be like, nah, nah, I gotta pump the brakes. I'm a couple years too old for this. Gotta settle down and start a family right now.
Hallie Batchelder
They would all jump at it. I just think people, like, are bitter and green with envy.
Mike Maylak
Agreed.
Hallie Batchelder
And, like, I've never got insulted by someone I want to trade lives with.
Mike Maylak
No, Never.
Hallie Batchelder
Never.
Mike Maylak
Never, ever. So I keep that mindset because they're too busy living an awesome life, too. And. And I think the messed up thing about it is. And the. And one of the ways that I sometimes, like, side with the audience and, like, understand their. Their way of, like, looking at things is. It's hard to tell who lives a life like, we are so blessed to be able to and still remains a good person.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
And for the audience, like, they can't. They can't tell. They don't know what goes on behind the scenes. They don't know what life looks like behind the scenes. I can say for myself, I'm such an imperfect person. Like, I am. There are so many things I wish that I was better at. There are so many things that I wish that I was taught better and mistakes that I wish that I didn't make. But every single day, I can wake up and without a shadow of a doubt, say with my full chest in the mirror that I'm a good person.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
There's a very, very good person. I've stayed really, really grounded. If you. If you ever reach out to me online and you say, I'm having a really bad day today, God forbid I'm thinking about doing something to myself or my sister's struggling with an addiction, not to get crazy specific, but the number of people have reached out and been like, I don't have a way to bury my grandmother. Like, I don't have the money to bury my grandmother. I'll send, dude.
Hallie Batchelder
Like, yeah.
Mike Maylak
If you don't know, I will be there for you. If you talk to me at a bus stop because you're having a bad day, I will sit with you as long as it takes to make you feel better. That's the type of person that I am. That's never changed about me because I grew up on the other side.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I know. I know what it feels like and looks like to be 100 hopeless in this life, to have absolutely no hope, to have absolutely nothing, to be on the streets homeless, with no one there to support you, no one there to help you, and.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
And.
Mike Maylak
And to just be suffering. And when you go through that, it builds an empathy in you that really just doesn't go away.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
And so I have no problem with people, like, giving me because of the life that I live. I wish that there's a lot of demons that, like, I don't sleep well with, that I try to run from. And my mom called me about it yesterday, and she's like, you know, like, why do you do this? Why do you travel and go all these places? And I don't have an answer for that. I don't. I don't know if it's just because I can't Be by myself or. I can't. I don't.
Hallie Batchelder
I feel the same way. You know, I just made a video about that being like. I feel like I'm like, go, go, go. And I can't tell if, like, I'm having the best life summer ever or if I'm, like, kind of spiraling, crashing out and, like, running from feeling something and just sitting with my thoughts for a few seconds.
Mike Maylak
Yeah, I'm very much a work in progress. And I think. I think, like, regardless, like, you're. You're not gonna. You're not gonna be able to convey that to the majority of the audience. They're just not gonna get it because. Because the majority of the audience is really young. A lot of the people are really. For me, it's more like the. The youngest would be. I would say, in my personal audience would be, like, from a mass standpoint, like, 19, 20.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Not super young, but even, like, those. They just don't get it. They don't understand, like, how complex life gets, especially for some people. Like, you know, like, that whole time in my. In my, like, early adolescence, my early 20s, and, like, late teens, like, I didn't do college. I didn't go to school. I didn't make friends. I buried a lot of friends. I hugged a lot of grieving moms. I went to rehabs. I went to, you know, felony court sentencings. You know what I'm saying? Like, and now and. And was at a low that. First of all, it's hard for people to relate to. To begin with, for a lot of people, for some people they can, you know, for. But then also to now be at a high. People can't relate to where. Where every day is like, a different conversation with this, you know, billionaire business owner or this boat or that thing or that thing, or, you know, I'm building this brand or opening burger shops or doing this show or interviewing the president. Like, so both of my polls have been hard for people to relate to, and the idea that I've been at both is almost impossible to relate.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, it's probably hard to, like, you know, because you can feel things on both sides of the spectrum of it. So you're like, that must be, like, conflicting. Sometimes it's hard.
Mike Maylak
It's. It's hard. And.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
And.
Mike Maylak
But. But also the. I mean, you'll never hear me, like, it's so hard. You know what I'm saying? Like, life as a creator is like, so. Because I've seen it, and I wake up every day and I'm like, dude, it's not. I'm so blessed.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
So blessed. And. And the opportunities I've been given and. And the ability to, like, use the gifts and tell my story. And there's never a day where I'm like, you know, I really wish I was pouring concrete today.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
You know, like, those people will work. These people, the people watching your show work. Yeah, they work. Like, they go to jobs, they deal with people they don't. Like, bosses and all this. And, like, I don't have to do that, and I'm blessed every day because of that. And that's, like, the mentality that I bring every day.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah. I feel that it is a crazy job, this. People argue. It's, like, not even a job, but it's a job in some ways, first
Mike Maylak
for certain people, more so than others. You know what I'm saying? Like, there are creators out there who make. And like, this almost feels like a good segue into the poor noise.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I was just gonna say there.
Mike Maylak
There are creators out there. Influencers.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Who shoot a brand deal. They. They do a little dance, and that's their job. They might shoot one video a week or two videos a week, and it's all short form, and they just have a cool format, and that's what they do. Then there are creators that have been doing this for 10, 12, 14, 16 years. Yeah. Okay. Like Logan, like his brother, like Jimmy Beast, like Tana. Okay. That their entire life. Now, once again, this is not comparing it to a real job. Is consumed by this thing that we do. And. And that's certainly how I feel like, yes. I have these trips that happen, and I get to have a good time. I'm obviously shooting this whole trip. I'm a videographer coming.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Oh, perfect.
Mike Maylak
But, like, you know, shows businesses, brand deals. It's just an. Oh, it's 24, 7.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
You know what I'm saying? And so it just depends on what type of creator you are, you know,

Hallie Batchelder
stuff. Yeah, because we both caught strays and I don't even understand. He's an influencer.
Mike Maylak
This conversation was going to look very different if it. If we were like pre Bri. Because I think Bri, she already addressed this on her show with Josh and she hit all the same notes I was gonna say.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, but like I'll say this.
Mike Maylak
He was very nice about it. To me at least. I want to talk about your side because our, because our strays were different in nature. Okay. He prefaced with I like Mike. We like Mike. But. And, and use me as the, as the case study for an influencer. Okay. I don't necessarily like 100 disagree with that sentiment. First of all, Dave is a. A I'm gonna give him his flowers. He's an icon of the space.
Hallie Batchelder
He's. He.
Mike Maylak
He built things that I've personally never built. He built a media conglomerate. He has hundreds of employees. He's built brands. He's been in the space longer than all of us. So I'm not gonna like, I didn't see it and feel like extremely disrespected in the way that he presented It. But to Bree's point, you're sitting in a lawn chair with a hat that says T by the sea. You're delivering a message about influencers on a social media application.
Hallie Batchelder
Okay.
Mike Maylak
Tick tock and Instagram.
Hallie Batchelder
Wearing his own merch.
Mike Maylak
Wearing your merch and low key. Being an influencer. Like let's be honest, you. The pizza reviews are one of the most long standing appreciated formats on the Internet.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
That is influencing. You're influencing people. You're creating short form videos to influence people to do stuff.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
So in my eyes, Dave is one of the OG influencers. Akin to ass influencer Jen Selter, but to an, you know, not the same, not the same bubble. But they've been around just as long as each other.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
Right.
Mike Maylak
So I was, I didn't feel disrespected, but with you it was a little bit different.
Hallie Batchelder
Well, like I, so like I've been. My parents got married on Nantucket. We've been coming to Nantucket forever. I was running around Nantucket before I even started this.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
And I will agree with the points where like I, I don't want Nantucket to become like, like lose like the, you know, charm, charm that like the. It's what happened to the Hamptons. You know, like I feel like we like they do brand trips into the Hamptons. I feel like there should be no branch ups to Nantucket. Like I agree with those points. But on the flip of that like the no influencers thing, I just think that he was kind of taking a jab at like me, my siblings because we run around and get up like causing mayhem on Nantucket. But we've always done that. I mean it's just recorded now.
Mike Maylak
It's also not, it's also like yo. It's also not the Vatican. Okay. Like, like let's like I, I as someone who has also not even close to you or Dave, but has. Has been in Antuck at a number of times. You know, been to the Chicken Box, Bennett, Cisco. I know Jay Harmon. And I'll get into that in a second with, with that. How that call went and the White Elephant and all these different places. I know the island well enough.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Party there. They do butcher shit there. It's not like some, like, it's not like you're in you know, like some ultra prestige.
Hallie Batchelder
We're not a museum.
Mike Maylak
You know what I'm saying? Like so, so that idea and what did a lot of it start from was Paige with Mr. Rogers.
Hallie Batchelder
Well.
Mike Maylak
Or the store.
Hallie Batchelder
So the Mr. Rogers thing. I Didn't even know how that tied to it. But I know she got some like, you know, slack for that. But like also she just opened Dairy Boy.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
On like Nantucketizer flagship store.
Mike Maylak
Right.
Hallie Batchelder
There's a line, rain, shine, tornado. There's a line down the block every single day.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
And I think that's pissed off a lot of the local business owners. Business owners and stuff. There's this basket shop with as like these famous like it's like a staple. Like it's like old money vibes, like woven baskets, like artists, like you know, like handcraftsman or whatever goes back Artisan. That was an English major.
Mike Maylak
Is that the word? I don't even know if that's you
Hallie Batchelder
know, like where they're like, you know, at the whittling and.
Announcer
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
So they go for like, like 8 to 13 grand or something crazy like that. And they put like a no influencer sign.
Announcer
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
And I think Paige just took it personally because like, like Paige is also like an OG influencer and it kind of felt like with Dairy Boy being like a new store on island that it was kind of like a jab at her and her business doing well.
Mike Maylak
So. So Paige wasn't called out specifically, but she responded to the no influencers thing.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah. And she just thought it was like fucked up. And I like agree but like I don't know any of like people in our.
Mike Maylak
What do we, what do we even like I was. What are we even talking about? No, not that just like, like a store that's selling multi thousand dollar hand woven baskets. Is that what you're talking?
Hallie Batchelder
And then to post that thing on social media with a whole thing is like kind of like this is what's
Mike Maylak
called trying to hold on to a reality that no longer exists and to what's called fight fate. Okay.
Hallie Batchelder
Influencers, honestly.
Mike Maylak
Okay.
Hallie Batchelder
It was rage bait and we all like all the little influencers got triggered.
Mike Maylak
Yeah. And maybe, maybe it was. Or maybe, or maybe she truly was just to like maintain this traditionality on the island. People are done churning butter. It's over, it's not coming back. And, and, and like that's how I feel about a lot of stuff. Like I have no problem raising my hand to like things that are done wrong in this world. But I've also come to understand at my age and energy level that you just can't win every battle. And if you're trying to fight an anti creator, anti influencer battle, you are going to lose.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
You are not winning that battle. This is almost insane to Say, but, like, we are the new celebrities. We are. And I hate saying that in such a term. It gives me the ick. Walk around. Walk around Lollapalooza with me. Walk around West Village with me. Like, dude, it's, it's every single second. It's a picture, it's a photo, it's a crowd.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
And that's. I'm not, I didn't even ask for that reality. I'm, I'm blessed and thankful for it. But that is the world that we live in now. And there are people that don't get it. They don't like it. And especially with someone like Paige, where
Hallie Batchelder
Paige is more like celebrity.
Mike Maylak
What she has done in her. With her brand.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
And her personal brand is nothing short of magnificent. She, She's. Paige is an incredible person. I've also known her for as long as me, seven plus years. Have witnessed her transition from somewhat party girl to, to what she is now.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
How she uses her voice to inspire girls to, to be classy, to, to, to empower themselves. As a, As a female owner of the other store, I just couldn't imagine doing anything to slight Paige because it's like what she's doing is just so empowering for.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Women.
Hallie Batchelder
You know, I agree, and that's what I said. And honestly, I just think it's like a generational argument. Like, they were trying to like, start up like a cultural conversation because people just. Influencers get so much in general. But I think you just can't even like, explain to someone that's in their, like 50s, 70s, honestly, what we do. Like, they're not gonna get it.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
I feel like most people don't get it. Like, why even try to argue?
Mike Maylak
So, like, going back to the celebrity statement, I made it, it's kind of weird. Like, I just went and saw the Odyssey. Okay.
Hallie Batchelder
Okay.
Mike Maylak
I look at those people on the screen as celebrities. They're craftsmen.
Hallie Batchelder
Yes.
Mike Maylak
The things that they do, I cannot do. I don't even claim to be able.
Hallie Batchelder
They are extremely talented.
Mike Maylak
Do you know what I'm saying? Like, in their space, those are celebrities. But when I, when I made that statement earlier, that's not what the kids think. Like, the, the. These like 18 to like 26 year olds or even younger than that. They look at the streamers, the podcasters, the creators, the Tick tockers as like their celebs.
Hallie Batchelder
Well, because it's so parasocial now because we give them so much access to, like, our lives.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
So they feel like, you know, they they know us.
Mike Maylak
Yeah. In our dog's names, in our brother's name.
Hallie Batchelder
Yes.
Mike Maylak
And it's, and it's like what I try to do is I try to create things outside of this sphere that I can point to when people try to discount or demean me as just an influencer. So like I wrote the book because obviously I wanted to tell the story. But also it's just really helpful when somebody tries to just throw me in one of those thirteen thousand dollar woven baskets and I'm like, yo, I don't make tick tocks. I do because it's part of my business. I'm a best selling author. Like I'm a USA Today best selling author. I've sold books with my book, I believe than any other creator that's ever written a book. You know what I'm saying? I don't think anyone has as many sales as me. I mean it's got more ratings, more sale trackable sales on Amazon than I, I think than any other creator in the space. I mean Dave just put his book out. I don't know how it stacks up, but I mean my book signed for a movie with caa. It's documentary already paid for. Like it's.
Hallie Batchelder
Oh, so you're gonna make it into a movie?
Mike Maylak
They're trying to. It takes so long.
Hallie Batchelder
It does.
Mike Maylak
Development takes so long.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Long.
Hallie Batchelder
That'd be a good movie.
Mike Maylak
Been a wild ride, dude.
Hallie Batchelder
Do you get to pick who would play you?
Mike Maylak
I asked Miles Teller.
Hallie Batchelder
Miles Teller?
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
Honestly, that'd be good.
Mike Maylak
Expensive too.
Hallie Batchelder
Expensive. Yeah, yeah, he's definitely a list. I think Timothy Chalamet and like those guys are also up there.
Mike Maylak
Yeah, for sure. I mean Timmy's probably, I would say Timmy's.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Who's.
Mike Maylak
Who's like the most hot? Who's the highest butler?
Hallie Batchelder
Jacob Elordi.
Mike Maylak
It's funny because like a few years ago it was like Paul Ruddy. Oh yeah. Tom Cruise.
Hallie Batchelder
But I feel like that's kind of like they're kind of dating out. Is that crazy?
Mike Maylak
No, no, you're right.
Hallie Batchelder
Like you know, like new, like once
Mike Maylak
again social media supported celebrity.
Hallie Batchelder
It used to be Brad Pitt and Leo. And like they're still. I mean Leo's massive.
Mike Maylak
He's the bit he in my eyes. Leo's for my generation at least. And like I'll like even go down to yours. Even though I think technically we're. Are you a millennial?
Hallie Batchelder
I'm like. Lost your Gen Z.
Mike Maylak
Okay, so you. So I'm not.
Hallie Batchelder
I'm on the Cusp.
Mike Maylak
Okay.
Hallie Batchelder
97, I think, was the last.
Mike Maylak
So I don't know about. For your gen, but technically, like, I would say Leo's, like, the most prolific actor of our. Of my lifetime.
Hallie Batchelder
Are you a millennial?
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
And then it's boomers above that.
Mike Maylak
Yeah. Boomers beyond that. But, yeah, I don't know. I mean, it's. It's definitely a weird space, and we'll see how it, like, continues to evolve. I didn't feel, like, super disrespected by the way that Dave presented it. And, like, no.
Hallie Batchelder
He even said he was like, I like Haley and even see my name. Right?
Mike Maylak
Oh, yeah, he did say Haley, Haley. And the brothers are running. And also, by the way, another thing worth noting is, like, he was high out of his mind on, like, what, like, post dental meds or something like that?
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
I just, like, love how he sticks his toe into all the beef. Also, like, I was also thinking about this, like, he's like, Brianna's boss.
Mike Maylak
Are they still.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, she's with Barstool. And as a show, I'm trying to picture Alex, like, making a video, like, just always, like, I'm catching a stride.
Mike Maylak
No, because. No, him and Brie like beef, because he knows date. Listen, Dave understands the value of being the heel, right? As they say in the wwe, right? Like, he knows what it's like to be the bad guy. And if. And if you can own being the bad guy, he doesn't. Dave Portnoy. Dave Portnoy does not give a single solitary. About anything you say. About anything you say. About anything I say. He does not care. As soon as he sees this video if there was anything in this that he decided he didn't like or not didn't like that he could twist and then turn into more content to create more views for his entities, he'll do it. For example, here's one. What did I call you and say the day the video came out?
Hallie Batchelder
You called me and said, let's go to Nantucket.
Mike Maylak
We're going to Nantucket. And we're throwing a party. No. Influencers festival. Okay. On Nantucket.
Hallie Batchelder
It's a way to monetize.
Mike Maylak
So I. So I called you, I texted you, I texted Herman, Paige. Well, hold on. I texted you, I texted Paige, Lorenz. I texted Bri. And another stray that was caught, Manager Miles from Palm Tree, who's friends with Dave, and randomly got randomly got dragged into it.
Hallie Batchelder
Wait, really?
Mike Maylak
So I texted Jasmine, and I texted Manager Miles and said, hey, did you guys see this video? And Miles said, yes. I said, okay. Miles, I want to do a event on Nantucket.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
And to. To playfully spite Dave. And I would hope Dave would come there maybe. Whatever. Right?
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I reach out to Miles. Miles, like green light. Whatever you need, do it. Right. I reach out to you guys. You're all in. Right. So now it's time. I have to start reaching out to venues on Nantucket to make this happen. So I first, I think let's do it at the box. Seeing Paige's numbers coming out of her store. 1500, 2000 people a day. We can't do it at the box. I need a bigger venue.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Call Jay Harmon at Cisco. Been friends with Jay Harmon for a decade. Okay. Call Jay at Cisco. Jay, need your Venmo. No problem, Mike. Whatever you need. I said, okay, cool. We're doing this like kind of anti Dave Portnoy festival. I get a text back that's like, well, hold on a second. And as soon as I said that, he called me and he's like, hey, so we're gonna need to get Dave sign off on this.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
And I was like, okay. Wow. Yeah. Because let's make no mistake, Dave is a very, very powerful person.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
And has a lot of friends. He said, we can do it, but I want you to call Dave and ask him if he would do it as a fundraiser for Ms. Peaches. I said, dude, we're on completely different wavelengths here. This was a very playful Dave.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
No influencers event. If we're now raising money for him, it kind of.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
It's the exact opposite.
Hallie Batchelder
Nah. Yeah.
Mike Maylak
So it just. So it didn't work. And, and you know, you're not going to go to Dave's island and get anybody to cooperate with you.
Hallie Batchelder
I just like, he just bought a house there. I don't like that people refer to his Dave's island. Even though he does own the most expensive house there.
Mike Maylak
Most expensive house. Definitely has been living there and posting there. But no, you have an equal. You have an equal.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Right to it. And by the way, everyone. So does everyone. If you want to go to Nantucket and you have the money to go to Nantucket, first of all to take the fast ferry or to take a JetBlue flight or whatever you're going to do and you're going to spend the thousands of dollars it costs to stay at White Elephant or wherever you want day. Have a blast. Have a blast. Go there. Go get smoked at the. At the Chicken Box. Piss on mister. Don't do that.
Hallie Batchelder
Please don't do that.
Mike Maylak
No one's island. I'm sure there's probably a Native American somewhere saying like, Dave Portnoy, like, you, you dog. You know what I'm saying? Like, no one owns the island, dude.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I, I mean, I get it. It is kind of like annoying when people have their phones out and they're trying to like, enlist like, clothing stores and like, I'm not even like that type of influencer.
Mike Maylak
You can't fight fate, dude. These kids, these kids are going to do what they want to do. You want to try to stop AI like, you want to, you want to like, bro, what do, what do you think is going to happen? This is the new world we live in. Everybody wants to be a in everybody. The number one job, if you ask kids, is, I want to be a YouTuber or a streamer or an influencer. Celebrity has become democratized. If you can create content that people want to watch, you are now a celebrity. That's crazy. But that's where we live.

Try Tinder Double Date because everything's better with friends.
Hallie Batchelder
Download Tinder today. You know what's Weird. I never, like, wanted to be an influencer.
Mike Maylak
Yeah, I mean. I mean, I obviously did.
Hallie Batchelder
I was just. I wasn't working. Like, I graduated college and I was just, like, hostessing on Nantucket. And. And then I would come back and just, like, rip it at Tao. And I was just, like, posting the. I was doing and being really unfiltered, and somehow I became one.
Mike Maylak
John Schwartz hit me up one day, and he was like. He was like, hey, I got an idea. And Schwartz. Schwartz does this from time to time.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
And.
Mike Maylak
And some of them are really good. This one was really good. And he said, I think. I think we should talk to Hallie Batchelder about starting a podcast. And I said, I don't know that she wants to do that. I think. I think she really is enjoying the short form. She's putting out these videos she's posting on Instagram, and he's like, have you seen her engagement? Like, her. She's growing a community. And I was like, yeah, I mean, I see it. I just don't know if she wants to, like, get into the weeds of, like, doing our hour and a half shows. Yeah, I think maybe two weeks after that. You signed with Unwell. Yeah, I think it was, like, really, like, right at that exact time. So I was like. I was like, I don't think she. I don't think she's gonna do that, Ral. And then you sign with Unwell for the podcast, literally, like, two weeks later. And by the way, I never. I never in my life ever wanted to manage talent. Like, that's just something that I. John, wanted you to manage me to, like, produce slash manage it, like, under just. I mean, the majority. The majority of this whole Unwell thing is, like, kind of one of a kind. Like, we don't. Like, the majority of people that do shows in our industry are not managed by or managed or produced by a label, really.
Hallie Batchelder
They just do it themselves. Of course. Isn't it, like, expensive and more work?
Mike Maylak
If I told you how much we spend on impulsive, you would. You would actually. Your pants, really? It's insane because we think about it, we have to. We don't ever do a show in the same city. We do shows wherever Logan is or the team equipment. We probably spend 50, 000amonth on travel, if not more.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
We probably.
Mike Maylak
We probably spend. All we probably spend comes out of the show. It comes out of my pocket. Our pocket. Whatever. Whatever we have from fanatics and sponsors. We pro. I pro. We probably spend a million dollars a year on that. Show just on production travel, clipping our clips do well.
Hallie Batchelder
When I came on your show, your
Mike Maylak
clips did really well. When you came on our show. You did really well when you came on our show.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I was chilling.
Mike Maylak
That was a great show. I mean, we talked about, you know, a lot of mental health stuff. Yeah, we talked about some sex stuff.
Hallie Batchelder
You did talk about some sex stuff.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
I don't talk about as much sex stuff as I used to when I started this.
Mike Maylak
Your first year as a podcaster or creator is the best year that you will ever have. If you are new to this space, if you are just getting into this, there's nothing like the first year. The shit I was saying. Yeah, the shit I was saying on the first year or two of Impulsive and in my vlogs and content Insane. You. There was not a celebrity. There was not a hookup that was safe. I was just airing everything.
Hallie Batchelder
Oh, yeah. That's what I started to learn, that you can't, like, air everything.
Mike Maylak
I don't talk about anything. Like, I talk about my struggles. Yeah, right. But like, dude, like, I. There's so many crazy.
Hallie Batchelder
Have you ever gotten, like, a cease and desist or like, someone asked you to take that down?
Mike Maylak
For sure, but we. We just take it down, down. We don't fight back on that.
Hallie Batchelder
Oh, really?
Mike Maylak
Yeah. You don't want an episode up, we'll take it down. One of the reasons we get the guests we get on our show, which is, by the way, everyone.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Presidents, athletes act. It does not matter. We've had. We've done 520 episodes and had some of the, you know, really great and not so great people on who's your.
Hallie Batchelder
Who's the worst.
Mike Maylak
My least favorite episode or my Lee or. Or the worst person we've ever had
Hallie Batchelder
on the worst person.
Mike Maylak
I mean, dude, we had Alex Jones on the show who told Sandy Hook families that their kids were actors and they never died. Like, we, we, we, we.
Announcer
I.
Mike Maylak
And by the way, I. I went full bore on him, told him I was offered $100,000 to punch him in the face. He smashed his head on the counter. Like, we have some really, really iconic moments on Impulsive, like Internet history. Mike Tyson sitting down and taking five grams of mushrooms. The second he sat down on the show, we had, you know, love them, hate him. I'm assuming probably a decent amount of hate in this audience. We had the president on. You know, like, we've had a lot of crazy episodes. Tom Brady, Kevin Hart, Shaq, Patrick Mahomes, Hallie Batchelder, Alex Cooper, plus Sophia, pre breakup. I mean, dude, we've had. We've. We've really done a lot of shows. We've been. We've been doing it since November of 2018. You know, we're coming up on eight years now doing it. We'll see how much longer it goes for. You know, I mean, I. I would love to do the show forever. Logan is a very busy person.
Hallie Batchelder
Would you just. Just keep it yours?
Mike Maylak
I mean, I can't. I would never be able to take the name.
Hallie Batchelder
Oh, true.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
I mean, that would make no sense.
Mike Maylak
Yeah. No, no, no, no. If we. If we stopped doing the show, we would. I would just move. We would move to new entities. The show is. The clips still do really well.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I mean, we get clips that get mil. Like, always get clips that get millions and millions of views on them. And I think. I think regardless of view count, I think there's like, a certain level of, like, truthfully, like, a certain level of, like, not clout the way we describe it, but clout and power that comes along with having done the show. Like, it's. It's almost like a rite of passage. Like, I. Did you feel that way, like, when you were coming on, like, you were coming on something that, like, has had so many guests on before, and it was like a moment where you felt like you were.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Doing something that, like, meant something.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I. It felt like more than other. Like that in color. Daddy was too big shows.
Mike Maylak
Yeah. For sure.
Hallie Batchelder
But it was like, damn. Like, this is crazy.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I remember you were, like, 30 minutes early. You were, like, sitting there.
Hallie Batchelder
Very timely. Yeah. Everyone always chirps me for that. It's rude to be late.
Mike Maylak
No, you. No, no. 100. It's very rude to be late.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I. I like that you understand that and have that awareness, but. And you did a great show, so. Love the podcast. Still love doing it. Love that we get to. We just had Lindsay Fishman on this past week. She was hilarious. Gary Vee. We've got an episode with Puka Nakua from the Rams coming out. We get such a broad. Like.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, wait, there's so many, like, different areas.
Mike Maylak
We do everything. We do UFO people, we do scientists. We've had Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Like, we've had. Dude, we've. I'm telling you. I know it's really easy to look at Logan or look at me and be like, these are bros. They're douchebags. I don't like these people. Like, whatever. Like, it's Logan swam upstream his whole career, a lot of it from his own doing some of it just because people are jealous or don't like him, whatever.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
But I think we put on pretty good shows. We ask a lot of questions where it's more interview based. Like you said earlier. It's like, like, you know, and because of the connections we have, we get really great people on the show. I would, I would always ask people to give it a shot, to give it a chance and see how they feel.
Hallie Batchelder
And is it easier to have like two of you in there? I feel like you're like more like the jokester.
Mike Maylak
And he's like, it's way easier. Especially when you get to a cadence like we have where we know exactly what's happening in the other person's mind.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
24 7. Where we, we use like completely unseen hand taps and signals and like looks that people would never pick up.
Hallie Batchelder
Oh, really?
Mike Maylak
Yeah, because we've been it for so long and we've done hundreds and hundreds of episodes. I know when he's starting to lull out, obviously, like, you know this, but like anybody who watches the show know, like I'm, I'm majority of the time doing the questioning and driving the direction. And then on moments where I feel like he really gets interested in the topic, he'll like pop in heavy. Like on an episode where we're talking about like Pokemon or collectibles or wrestling, we, when we interview wrestlers, you know, so it depends on his passion level. I'm passionate about everything. I can get into any.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I think you could talk to Wall.
Mike Maylak
I can. And how much of that you actually want to listen to, that's up to you. But you know, I try to, I try to. I don't know. I'm very long winded, which is why podcasts work for me.
Hallie Batchelder
Should we talk about Ibiza a little bit more? I feel like I want to like.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
Get into the weeds. What we're doing. Give me the schedule.
Mike Maylak
These programs are crazy. People spend a lot of money on them. Were arriving. We're settling into the house. We're going to be going to a lot of dinners. This is a, this is a special week in Ibiza because everyone is throwing parties. So like, normally speaking, for like any average person that's going to Ibiza that doesn't know people that are throwing million dollar parties, they would be going to clubs the majority of the time. Ibiza is the biggest club city on the planet. There's nothing even close. Maybe Berlin, maybe I don't know, but you've got Universe, which is the biggest club in the world. You've never seen anything like this before. It's like a music festival. Inside, it has multiple rooms. There's DJs in the bathroom. It is the craziest thing you've ever seen in your entire life.
Hallie Batchelder
What?
Mike Maylak
You've got their sister club, Hayabiza, which is equal ultra club. Like, we're talking about like thousands of covers. Like thousands and thousands of people in this place. You've got absolutely timeless places like Pasha and Amnesia. And then really kind of like insane, I guess, like what you would say, like gospel, kind of. Which would be DC10. So DC10 is where they host Circle Loco. It's very like, starts at 5am type thing. You know what I'm saying?
Hallie Batchelder
Am I gonna get hungover on this?
Mike Maylak
Yes, a hundred percent.
Hallie Batchelder
Trying to be good this week.
Mike Maylak
Be as good as you want. You'll. You'll meet some people out there that are sober.
Hallie Batchelder
Really?
Mike Maylak
Oh, yeah. 100 that are full that are fully sober.
Hallie Batchelder
It's like. Do people go to the beach during the day?
Mike Maylak
Yes. There's John. There's John doll. And there's Blue Marlin. And then there's. And then there's lunches on Formentera. I do want to tell you this. Formentera, in my eyes, is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. It's a boat ride from Ibiza. We have a boat. You're gonna miss it because you won't be there on Friday. So you. So none of this applies to you.
Hallie Batchelder
Oh, great.
Mike Maylak
But Formentera might be one of the most beautiful places on Earth. It's absolutely stunning. Blue water, big, like launch place is similar to what you do in San Tropez. But a bees is crazy. Make no mistake. It's the craziest place on Earth. Very, very, very late nights that go all the way till like 2, 3pm if you do drugs, which I don't, so I'm asleep by, you know, whatever.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Two at 4:00am, 5:00am I don't do drugs either. Yeah, well, then you'll. Then you'll be going to sleep at the same time as me, then I guess, you know.
Hallie Batchelder
All right. I have some questions for you that are just more like. Like for guys.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
Where are your stomping grounds in New York and where are you going out with your friends?
Mike Maylak
I'm out exclusively at Tao Establishments in New York City. So I am spending a lot of time at Crane Club.
Hallie Batchelder
And I, like, love Crane Club.
Mike Maylak
So do I. I love Crane Club, it's got great food. I love their burger. I love the team AT T. I love John Schwartz, obviously. And honestly, like, I know this. That's already sounds biased, but. Because I do love John so much, but they've been throwing some massive, like, really celebrity heavy parties club lately.
Hallie Batchelder
No, Crane Club's been, like, the spot.
Mike Maylak
We got kicked off our table by LeBron James last week.
Hallie Batchelder
We did?
Mike Maylak
Yes. You were already, like, already skirting around, but, like, remember that. Remember that table that we put together at Crane? Like, or like, a couple weeks ago?
Hallie Batchelder
Sometimes I forget to, like, look up.
Mike Maylak
It's fine. And I remember at the end of the night, we were sitting there and the staff at Crane came over and they're like, mike, like, we need you to move. Like, go. Go to a different table. And I'm like, what do you mean? Like, what table do you want to go to? She goes, any table. And I'm like, oh, my God, dude, who's here? The president. Like, what's going on? So I get everybody up and move over, and all of a sudden, I see a couple security guards walking. And then LeBron goes and sits, like, right where you were sitting.
Hallie Batchelder
Oh.
Mike Maylak
Which is Sony. So, like, Crane Club has really become, like.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, that.
Mike Maylak
Like, one of those places. But, dude, I. Obviously, I'm gonna give my flowers to Shay. Like, what Shay Margot has done in New York City like, over the past last year or two has been incredible. Shea's a great place. Everybody wants to be there. Shout out to everybody at Zero Bond. Will Mackers. That's not. I don't even look at that as, like, a New York spot. That's, like, a global place. I have a membership to the one in Vegas. Like, Zero Bonds. Obviously been incredible. So all those places, what is the
Hallie Batchelder
bad habit of yours that you don't care to fix?
Mike Maylak
Honestly, my food intake.
Hallie Batchelder
Really?
Mike Maylak
To be honest. Yeah. Because. Because even though I would love to, like, lose a few pounds, like, only like, 10 or 15. Thank you. I'm like 220. And I would love to be like 200. I'm six three. I don't know if I would be able to continue surviving without really enjoying the foods that I like to enjoy.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
I feel like that's kind of your thing with 10.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
10.
Mike Maylak
With 10. 10 burger and, like, all the other things that I do. And, like, I would love to, like, kind of, like, have abs, but I've also seen a lot of people that have, like, guys that have like, gone glp and they get, like, less girls and they get very like, like their face gets kind of like. Yeah. And they are exhausted.
Hallie Batchelder
They are exhausted.
Mike Maylak
That's the other problem too. And that scares me. Like, I don't want to not have the desire to go out and eat in New York City, which is the best food city in the world.
Hallie Batchelder
You think the food here is the
Mike Maylak
best number one in the world, hands down. There's 7, 000 plus restaurants here that are all vying for your money and there's nowhere close. I don't care if you're talking about like Tuscany or Rome or anywhere. Like, it does not matter. New York City is hands down the best food city in the world. Hands down number one. And, and any real chef or any real foodie will tell you the exact same thing.
Hallie Batchelder
I just saw a take. I forget who did it, but they were like, New York's like, the food sucks.
Mike Maylak
The most ridiculous thing you'll ever hear. Yeah, there's, there's, there's Michelin 1, 2, 3 stars here. There's. You've got, you've got the best pizza, some of the best pizza on the planet with, with exception maybe New Haven and, and you know, know some of these places in, in Italy maybe. By the way, I prefer New York pizza over Italian pizza, to be honest.
Hallie Batchelder
I like Connecticut pizza.
Mike Maylak
New Haven's a piece of capital the world. I would say that it's on our sign next time you drive into Connecticut. Welcome to the pizza New. You know, New Haven, the pizza capital of the world. I forgot you number one. Pepe Sally's. Modern number one.
Hallie Batchelder
Sally's is my favorite.
Mike Maylak
That's it.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Have you ever stayed in a relationship too long?
Mike Maylak
Yes. Every single one of them. Every single one of them. And any guy that says otherwise is lying to you.
Hallie Batchelder
And the reason why, locked in when you're in a relationship, I've seen it and I'm like, whoa. Like, you're like everyone else.
Mike Maylak
No girls, no liking pictures, no Instagrams, no dms. Every single time has gotten toxic. Most of it due to lack of commitment. When it comes time to over to really commit movements that next the real next step. And also when it starts to affect my lifestyle, which I do enjoy. I don't cheat, I don't take text girls, women in a relationship. I don't do anything. But both of my past relationships have been a little bit too stifling. And that's not, that's not nothing bad about either the girls, but they've just, it just didn't really.
Hallie Batchelder
They didn't like how Much. You were going out and stuff.
Mike Maylak
Which I get, I get, I also get that. And, and, and by the way, like, and this goes for you as well, and I think for anybody, there sometimes are changes you need to make in your personal life to find and facilitate the relationship that you want for a long term relationship. I am not the best me right now. I'm just not. I'm just, I'm still very childish in a lot of ways. I'm still very selfish in a lot of ways as it pertains to my time.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
And how much time I want to give to anyone besides myself or my family or a dog or whatever. Right. Like, that's just where I'm at. And it's something that I'm actively working on. I'm in therapy every single week. I'm trying to be the best me. It's just not happening at the speed that the Internet and the comments section would like to see. Yeah, unfortunately. But, but that's just where we're at. And so both of those last relationships, I stayed in too long. Things got toxic. Guys are not good. Many guys are not good at break, at breakups. They're just not. They. As Matt Damon said in the Departed, I'm Irish. I'll stay in this thing until, until one of us is like, dead, basically.
Announcer
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
You know what I'm saying? And, and sometimes it takes, I mean, this last, this last breakup, I mean, it's coming up on what, like probably two years now.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Since we broke up. I mean, it really took her just being like, I'm putting my foot down. Like.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I think you would have lingered a little longer.
Mike Maylak
I mean, dude, I was a shell of a human at that point.
Hallie Batchelder
I know. I was just gonna say, how do breakups affect you? But I already know.
Mike Maylak
Really bad. No, it's not even the breakup. It's that dead. It's that dead period where you're like, where you're like, you're with the person and you're, you're, your anxiety is so high and you are. And you have so much love for the person. Like, I loved both of my exes. I really did. Like, like, you know what I'm saying? Like, not to rank them, but especially this last one, you know what I'm saying? Like, I, like, yeah, you know, we had a real relationship. You know what I'm saying? And so I think. And I haven't dated since then. She's on like, I think boyfriend number three now. Since we were really. Yeah, but this one's pretty Serious.
Hallie Batchelder
I feel like she wanted to get married.
Mike Maylak
She does. She's a. She's a normal human.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
You know, like, if you. If you get in a relationship with me, you have. There are certain things you're just gonna have to accept, and I'm just not. Not the most normal person.
Hallie Batchelder
No, I agree with that. You're not normal at all.
Mike Maylak
You didn't even bring up my dick pic at all. This whole episode kind of messed up.
Hallie Batchelder
Should I bring it up now? Wait, because I saw that. That was the funniest clip I've ever seen. When I said sen.

Hallie Batchelder
That was so out of context. Yeah, I know it was out of context. It was in a group chat.
Mike Maylak
Did it for the clip. Well, Logan did that. He steered the clip a little bit when he said that you sent it specifically. But yeah, Zara was in there. And Zaza.
Hallie Batchelder
And Zaza. And you were showing us your favorite dick pic the night before at the LeBron table.
Mike Maylak
A little bit of context. A little bit of context. There was multiple consents before this happened. I think it would. There was.
Hallie Batchelder
He never sent it.
Mike Maylak
I think I. Well, because I don't like to send stuff like that. But I think there was an ask. Not from you. I think there was some sort of ask. And I said, I can show you, but I need, like, five yeses from each person. You know what I'm saying? And as soon as I got that. Yeah, as soon as I got that, I was like, all right, whatever. You could look at it. But no, I'm not sending my dick pic around.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Fine.
Mike Maylak
Although I probably should.
Hallie Batchelder
You should. You Love that dick pck. It's like, your favorite dick pck.
Mike Maylak
Do you have nudes that you keep. Keep in stock so that you can send them when needed?
Hallie Batchelder
I don't send nudes anymore.
Mike Maylak
When's the last time you sent a nude?
Hallie Batchelder
Probably not that long ago, but, like, I don't really send them unless I'm hammered.
Mike Maylak
Okay, so. So when you need to take it, when you need to take a fresh new.
Hallie Batchelder
I just get really scared. I got my Snapchat hacked and, like, all my videos of me, like, doing crazy to myself.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
Saved.
Mike Maylak
Oh, people have them.
Hallie Batchelder
So it's. They're out there somewhere, but they haven't landed on my desk.
Mike Maylak
Trying to think if I could tell that if I. I've always been, like, kind of sexual, like, even since, like, I was, like, 16.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I made a sex tape when I was 16.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Like, I'm talking proper sex tape. Like, and by the way, hold on. You have to hear this sex tape,
Hallie Batchelder
like, on. On like, a fact
Mike Maylak
sex tape.
Hallie Batchelder
You're so vintage.
Mike Maylak
Okay.
Hallie Batchelder
Was it black and white?
Mike Maylak
No, it was not. It was, like, just before phone phones. It was way before phones. I think the typewriter. I think the typewriter had just come out.
Hallie Batchelder
No, it was. Was it on one of those, like, camcorders?
Mike Maylak
Yes. Got it. Got stolen. I have no issue with the tape. The issue is that for the person who has it, is you possess something you should not from a legal standpoint.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah. Well, you're young.
Mike Maylak
Correct. Both of us are under 18.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
So it's like. So it's like this weird situation where, like, someone asked that Dave, and it's like, I don't. I would assume, unless it's just lost or has been destroyed.
Hallie Batchelder
Well, let's hope that I don't.
Mike Maylak
I personally, I mean, there's another person who it would. Could affect, but, like, for me, I mean, I don't. Where would it even go? It's just such a weird situation.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah. I don't know. I just feel like the whole nude sleeking thing scares me too much, so. Okay, so does it shock you I don't send nudes?
Mike Maylak
No, not at all. I think. I think they're kind of outdated a little bit bit. Like, if anything, like, maybe FaceTime or something. I don't know. But, like, I don't like doing that. So if you were to send it. If you were to send a nude to someone. What, you're not digging into an inventory of nudes that you have. You're. You're taking a new one yeah, I'm
Hallie Batchelder
like going to the bathroom and taking one in real time. Even if I'm like, see that's what
Mike Maylak
I was trying to avoid by, by having that pick that I have was because for a guy like, for us like getting a good well lit, well angled, fully blood flowed pick, like, you know what I'm saying? Like where you're like, you're like not 80, you're like at like a good 110.
Hallie Batchelder
You need to like update it or maybe. Yeah, just take like a half day and just. Really?
Mike Maylak
That's what I'm kind of asking you. Like, like, like, like dude, if you on a random Tuesday, right, You had an afternoon, like why wouldn't, why wouldn't you create some like epic like vignettes where like so like say you started talking to like a German hockey player. You got dressed in like one of those Oktoberfest fits, you know, like, do you know what I'm saying? Like why wouldn't you really?
Hallie Batchelder
Like like your own little photo shoot? Yeah, I just like, I don't like guys having those kind of photos of me on their phones when like I know they're probably saying, sending them up.
Mike Maylak
What about using an app that like it deletes from like Snap or something like that and just sending a single share. You think they're gonna screen it?
Hallie Batchelder
Probably.
Mike Maylak
I do not send dick pics.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Why?
Mike Maylak
Because, because of that reason and, and as a very adult, I get asked for them. It can sometimes dull the vibe because if the other person you're work like talking to is very overzealous about sharing stuff, like a lot of girls are.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Then they ask me, okay, let me get something in return. I can't because I don't, I don't, I don't know. Just as like a 41 year old man. It just is something that I just don't see being appropriate.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I can see that.
Mike Maylak
But also like someone in the public eye too.
Announcer
So you.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, that's also like another factor that goes into play. Like. Yeah, people could like probably send that out and like think that it would be valuable to other people.
Mike Maylak
Well, I have no issue with the image itself.
Hallie Batchelder
No, you want us.
Mike Maylak
Yeah, I have. No, it's more. So how is this obtained and like what did that conversation look like? Like why was he sending that? Do you know what I'm saying? Like, because like cuz it was asked
Hallie Batchelder
for, it was asked for like like I said, sen. Period.
Mike Maylak
Yeah, I guess I should have in that circumstance.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I need to warm up sometimes.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I need.
Mike Maylak
You know what I'm saying? Like, this is, like, it's messed up. Because, like, we should. Most podcasts are about an hour, and I'm. I'll really start heating up at, like, the hour 15 mark.
Hallie Batchelder
No, same where I'm like, okay, there's
Mike Maylak
flow, and I like, I'm comfortable. So what? You know what? Me and Logan do you. Before the show, for 30 minutes, we yell at each other to warm up so that in the first. So in the first, like, 10 minutes. No, we're good right now.
Hallie Batchelder
How do you yell at.
Mike Maylak
Like, we'll just talk and shoot a vlog or, like, mess around in the room and just, like, break. Like, whatever, dude.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Like, we'll just have a blast so that when. As soon as we sit down, we're more in a flow state versus, you know, I'll say this and then. And go back to superlatives when you stare at your phone all day. Like, we do the first three minutes of conversation with, like, an actual human or the first 10 minutes is wonky, dude.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah. I, like, don't like talking to strangers all the time.
Mike Maylak
Do you know what I'm saying?
Hallie Batchelder
Especially as an anxious person, because I'm always, like, kind of, like, teetering on anxiety side.
Mike Maylak
How less anxious are you right now, currently in this moment than you were when we sat down?
Hallie Batchelder
I think I'm less anxious right now.
Mike Maylak
Right now, I'm 70% less anxious. Okay. Because we haven't been staring at our phone. We haven't been locked in the silo of our mind with no one to talk to, which is where everyone lives nowadays, which is the most unhealthy thing ever.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
We've been having real interaction.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
You know what I'm saying? This is how we are supposed to be living.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Not with these microphones, cameras.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
But, like, having real discourse, like, with each other. You know what I'm saying? Like, go ahead. What do you got?
Hallie Batchelder
When you're in a relationship, how often do you should. Should you be texting and FaceTiming?
Mike Maylak
God, dude, this was a tough thing for me.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah. I feel like you're not a good text, actually. You are.
Mike Maylak
You're with you.
Hallie Batchelder
You're a good text.
Mike Maylak
Because a lot of. Because some of our stuff's work stuff.
Hallie Batchelder
Or.
Mike Maylak
Or you're like.
Hallie Batchelder
How do you mean? For, like, a code to something. Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Or something like that.
Hallie Batchelder
Please fill this out.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Fill out this rumor app.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I feel like I'm obligated to do it, so I do it.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Even though I'm selfish. If I lock in with you, I want to make sure that you're happy. I want to make sure that I'm doing a good job. And if I know that it makes you feel better to hear from me in the morning, even if it's just a good morning, I'm gonna send the text.
Hallie Batchelder
I feel like you'd be a good boyfriend.
Mike Maylak
I am a good boyfriend in some ways.
Hallie Batchelder
In like, the ways that I feel like are important except for maybe quality time.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
But I feel like you were always
Hallie Batchelder
with the last x. All the time.
Mike Maylak
All the time, everywhere in the world.
Hallie Batchelder
But she wanted a commitment phobe.
Mike Maylak
I'm starting to think about how much of it is based on how I live my life and my lifestyle.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I think that as I continue to settle down more. I say this on shows sometimes now you need to settle down before you settle down.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, that's.
Mike Maylak
You're not going out every night. You're not partying every night. You're not doing stuff. You're not. For me, it's not even partying. It's just straight up travel. This tonight when we leave to go to LHR, that will probably be flight 75 or 80 of the year for me. I'll do 130, 140 flights this year. It's disgusting. It's actually disgusting.
Hallie Batchelder
Ever, like, feel sick?
Mike Maylak
Not really.
Hallie Batchelder
It's all that nad pumping through your veins.
Mike Maylak
All these experimental.
Hallie Batchelder
You're gonna grow a tail in like five years. What's a secret, you know, in Hollywood that you can expose to me and everyone listening?
Mike Maylak
I've t on everybody. That's the secret in itself.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I know every single thing about how everyone ticks about everyone dt on me
Hallie Batchelder
that like really up my.
Mike Maylak
No, not really. You're very open.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Do you know what I'm saying? When. When you present the side of yourself that you do it, it makes life a lot easier. Do you know what I'm saying?
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
Cuz people can't be like, oh, you're trying to hide that part of your life. No, I'm good, bad and the ugly.
Mike Maylak
And yo, listen, everybody has skeletons. No one is perfect. Everybody has skeletons, dude.
Hallie Batchelder
I think being perfect, especially on the Internet is kind of out anyways.
Mike Maylak
Oh yeah. 100.
Hallie Batchelder
It is like that clean girl aesthetic. Except that.
Mike Maylak
Except for sweet, sweet page. There's a really messed up understanding of how much money people have.
Announcer
Really.
Mike Maylak
I think people. I think people really, like a lot of times over the kids nowadays, like, they're like brains. How they interpret like What a lot of money is is like so ridiculous. Like, like you tell a kid that you're making 100 grand a year now and they're just like, oh, sure, poor. Because they're. Because their brains are so tied into Aiden Ross and this person's earnings and that person's earnings, and this person makes a hundred million dollars a year that they think that's like. That's like what rich is. I guess we didn't really know what rich meant either at their age.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I think.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Depends.
Hallie Batchelder
If you asked me, like five years ago of a hundred thousand dollars is like a lot to make in a year. I've been like, that's like a lot. Dogs, like six figures is a lot.
Mike Maylak
Yeah. Now. Yeah, yeah, it changes. No, I just mean, like, people think it's like, these kids think it's like, poor.
Hallie Batchelder
These kids, like young kids. I don't think people really have, like, the full concept of a dollar at that age.
Mike Maylak
I don't really know, like a secret about Hollywood, to be honest.
Hallie Batchelder
No. Honestly, you don't want to arrow anyone out. All right. What's mistake you've made in the early stages of relationship that you won't repeat again?
Mike Maylak
This one, like, actually hurts me to say. I have like, like a tranche of videos from, like, past flings. Especially when I was like, doing. Hanging out with like, the P stars and I was not willing to delete
Hallie Batchelder
them for a relationship.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
How did they know you had them?
Mike Maylak
Don't know. I don't remember how it came up in discussion or. Or snooping. I regret that. That's ridiculous. That's. That's, that's like. That's like, actually ridiculous. But I'm aware and I. And I. I'll own up to it. And I'm sorry about that. You know, like, that's crazy. I think, like, I probably made that decision, as you said, early in the relationship, and then it was. It was like one of those things where I was just like, no, I'm not, I'm not. You're not gonna tell me what to do.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, yeah.
Mike Maylak
Like where I had that, like, overarching, like, manliness, like, thing that just was toxic to an extent. So I do regret that.
Hallie Batchelder
No, I was bad. Bad partner in the relationship.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
At least from my last relationship.
Mike Maylak
I also make mistakes in that pre exclusive gray area a lot.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Which has. Which has caused harm in. In some of my past.
Hallie Batchelder
Like you've gotten with someone like, in
Mike Maylak
the grass, like, where it's like, okay, we haven't had that conversation. Or like, one of my exes would claim that we had had the conversation, but, like, we didn't.
Hallie Batchelder
No.
Mike Maylak
You know what I'm saying? Like, where it's just like, okay, you're not fully exclusive, but, like, you've been hooking up a lot for like a month and you're the. And like, you.
Hallie Batchelder
It would be hurtful to the other person if they found. Correct. Yeah, that's bad. I don't know how I feel about that though, because I've definitely, like, hooked up with other people's and other people in that area as well.
Mike Maylak
I think you. I think, like, for like, people that are in new relationships, you have to have a very, like, specific and meaningful conversation.
Hallie Batchelder
Like, how soon.
Mike Maylak
When. Whenever you're ready to. Whenever one of the partners is ready to communicate with your partner. Don't be, don't be afraid to, like, say things that hur.
Announcer
You.
Mike Maylak
And like, here's another thing I slightly. I don't know if I regret this one. When I start to get battered down every day by things that I deem to be insignificant. Yeah, I. I'll tell you, I need you to stop with this.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I'm, I'm.
Mike Maylak
I am. I am done. And like, this is something that I've, I've had to think about whether or not I regret it. But, like, if there's a lot of everyday. Who was that girl? Why did she say hi to you? Why are you not here by this time x1 like, and I mean a lot of it where I can expect it to happen every time we go out or anytime we do anything.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I will start to not take your feelings about what I deem to be those things into consideration. I won't, I won't do it. I just won't, like, coddle in those situations.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah. Like, you don't want the be giving. Having to give, like, constant reassurance to a person.
Mike Maylak
Correct. If I like a girl's Instagram picture,
Hallie Batchelder
I think that's really that bad.
Mike Maylak
I think so. I don't think as a guy, you should be liking other girls.
Hallie Batchelder
What about, like, girls liking other guys?
Mike Maylak
Like, no, I don't think you should be doing that. I don't think you should be doing that. If your partner is uncomfortable with you doing that. If, if, if me and you dated.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Who the knows what that looks like? Like, it would be funny to hear you say, it's like, I gotta talk to you about your ex. And I'd be like, oh, God, here we go. Do you think that you can invite her over one night and we could like, see what happens.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
You know what I'm saying?
Mike Maylak
Like, and you would go the opposite direction. So I don't know even know how that would look like. But if your partner is uncomfortable with you liking other girls or other guys photos on Instagram because it publicly shows that they in some way appreciate their physique or their picture or whatever. With, with. With exceptions, of course.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah, I think there's exceptions. Like if like we were dating and you were liking like, like Lauren and another creator. Yeah.
Mike Maylak
But that's where it gets. That's where it gets gray. So I just stopped.
Hallie Batchelder
Like, I also, like, I don't think I'd care really about that stuff. So then, so I don't know. I haven't been in a serious relationship in so long, so maybe like, I just don't know. I'm like tap, though, when I like someone.
Mike Maylak
You really like, dial, like lock in.
Hallie Batchelder
And I lock in. But I can get like a little like possessive.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Possessive.
Hallie Batchelder
Maybe not, but like it like almost brings out like an insecure side to me where I'm like, like, you know, I. I feel more confident myself alone.
Mike Maylak
Okay. So I know exactly what you're talking about. And this is like, kind of goes back to like the conversation we were just having. You think that you feel more insecure in a relationship, but this. I'll get killed for the statement. It is partially the job of the man to make you feel secure in the relationship, I think.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
So if you are. Now there, there's a line.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
So if you're dating someone who is not doing a good job of that. Depending on what your love language is. Right. If they're not hitting that metric to satisfy you and make you feel like you're the only thing that he thinks like. Sorry, the only girl that he is looking at.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Or wants to be with, that can partially actually be the fault of the guy. I know it's going to make your audience happy to hear your audience, but I would say this on a, on a dude show too.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
You have to show up for your girls. You have to like, if you're not. If you're not making them feel to a certain level, appreciated, valued, and like they're the only girl that you care for in that way, then you're going to create an insecure, anxious female that is going to then wreak havoc on your fucking life. And so like, I know this from past experience because I don't always do a good job. And then I look at Someone like Logan, who does a great job of it every single day of his life.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
With certain exceptions. But like, but like 98 of the time he's showing up in the way that makes her feel like, like she has love and loyalty and those things.
Hallie Batchelder
What is your love language?
Mike Maylak
I don't even know. I'm, I'm like. I gotta be completely honest with you, Halle. I'm really messed up. Like, when it comes, I gotta, I gotta change my ways lot.
Hallie Batchelder
But like, do you even know the love languages?
Mike Maylak
Yeah. Time, gifts, you know, like, touch.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
I mean, I'm a guy, so I mean, like. Yeah, yeah. Like, it's like, definitely like a part of it, but, like, I don't know. I have like, I have like, just so many, like, complexities and like, have been like, burned and hurt in so many ways in my life that like, I'm just, I'm just so. I'm like a really chaotic lover.
Hallie Batchelder
Like, love to see what goes on in your. No, you wouldn't brain just for like 30 minutes.
Mike Maylak
You would. It's, it can be heavy. It can be really heavy.
Hallie Batchelder
Heavy.
Mike Maylak
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
Same with me though.
Mike Maylak
I'm diagnosed ocd. I have high levels of anxiety. I have issues with self worth from all of the things that I've did done in my life and the damage I've done to myself and others. I have issues with trust. I have a lot of issues. And I love myself. I'm very proud of the person I am and who I've become. I really consider myself to be a kind and good person. But I think that I have built walls around myself in a lot of ways.
Announcer
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
To protect your, Myself and others.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
You know what I'm saying? And it's very uncomfortable for me to, to take those walls down. And even in those, like, year and a half long relationships, like, they're still up in a major way.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Hallie Batchelder
I don't like being vulnerable.
Mike Maylak
Then you add on for me personally as like a man in 2026, like, a lot of access to like, really, really pretty cool, awesome women.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
And that is then like the, the multiplier effect where it's just like, okay, why am I gonna go back to this inability that I have to even do this anyways when I have the ability to have fun all the time and have all of my needs met without having to do that side of the puzzle.
Hallie Batchelder
Yeah.
Mike Maylak
Horrible thought, Horrible way to live life. And I don't ever, like, I, I, I post it as content, we talk about it on shows. It. It's such an ugly lifestyle.
Hallie Batchelder
Do you feel guilty about it?
Mike Maylak
No. Never feel guilty. I don't feel guilty about anything. It's just more so like. Like there's a hole. So much work has to be done. And that's the thing, like anything else in life, you're not going into work. I'm in therapy and I've been doing a lot better on as it pertains to, like, how I act and behave.
Announcer
Okay.
Mike Maylak
So it will. It'll. It'll get there. When it gets there. Yeah, that's it.
Hallie Batchelder
I think you'll be great and you'll be fine. And I love you.
Mike Maylak
I know we're gonna have a blast.
Hallie Batchelder
We're gonna have so much fun. Should we edit there?
Mike Maylak
Yeah. We'll get some sun and have a good time. And you could find. And you're flying business class.
Hallie Batchelder
I know. That's like my favorite part is like drinking at the airport.
Mike Maylak
I love flying. I love. Well, when I'm flying, like the way that we.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
We do.
Hallie Batchelder
Well, you're a whole other situation. And I don't even jealous.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yo.
Mike Maylak
Shout out to your audience. I love you guys. I love that you support hi because I love h. I appreciate your patience as sometimes the things that I say take a little while to say.
Hallie Batchelder

Mike Maylak
Yeah. Thank you. But hopefully you enjoyed today's episode.
Hallie Batchelder
Love you guys.
Mike Maylak

Hallie Batchelder

Sponsor/Ad Voice

Hallie Batchelder
I was like, peace.

Hallie and Mike discuss influencer culture, the tension between tradition and social media stardom, their own messy pasts and friendship, viral beefs (notably with Dave Portnoy), travel stories, relationships, and the realities and myths of internet fame. The tone remains candid, irreverent, and self-aware, with plenty of personal storytelling, behind-the-scenes context, and sharp banter.
