A
From the beautiful Missouri Ozarks, greetings and welcome to the Gilbert House fellowship for Sunday, June 14, 2026. I'm Derek Gilbert.
B
I am Sharon Gilbert and welcome to our home, everybody. We're delighted that you've chosen to join us for the study this morning and pray that you're, you're having a glorious morning and that you're not windswept by yesterday's storms. I know that some areas got some really high winds.
A
We. Yeah, we did last night. Gusts upwards of 60 miles an hour. But this week has been kind of kinetic when it comes to the weather here across the central United States.
B
You never know what's going to happen here.
A
Yeah, Central Illinois got hit some with some pretty big tornado. Streeter, Illinois, a town that I've been to a few times during my time in outside sales covering the central and southern Illinois.
B
Well, I think yesterday there was a FIFA, the football association, we call it soccer because the finals are taking place in Canada, the United States and Mexico. And I think there was a game last night in Kansas City and they were under major tornado warning events, which probably surprised those football players who were there.
A
Yeah, not a thing in many other parts of the world. But here in the central United States, just due to the mixing of air coming up from the Gulf of America and coming down from Canada, springtime, summertime, we can get some pretty, pretty exciting weather from the deep south to all the way up to North Dakota. So, so we here in southwest Missouri, we're not what is often called Tornado Alley, but we're about a block over because Oklahoma, you know, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, down into Texas, Dallas, that area, that's really where that sort of begins. But Tornado Alley has kind of been shifting eastward in recent years.
B
I grew up in it, too. Southern Indiana got a lot of tornadoes.
A
Yeah. Even as far north as Chicago occasionally. So anyway, if you were affected by those last night or anytime this week, because I know Streeter, Illinois got hit pretty hard, you know, our prayers are with you because it's just one of those things that. This was not the original design intended by God. I don't think when, you know, mists would just sort of water the earth gently instead of rain coming down horizontally.
B
And the breezes were relatively gentle in most cases. I would think. No, and, and you and I have talked about this before. That the angel in the whirlwind.
A
Yeah.
B
That may be not more than just poetic. It may literally be an angel who controls certain winds. And we see this when the angels holding back the four winds. So that they no longer blow. There are things coming to the earth that I think have a lot to do with what we would just call meteorology.
A
Right. And interestingly, it's, I don't think, coincidence that in many of the pantheons around the world, if not most, that would be an interesting study, looking at the pantheons of the world and seeing how many have a storm God or a rain God, a weather God at the top of the pantheon.
B
I think it's almost all of them, if not 100%. By the way, if you are listening to this on YouTube, thank you very much for being here. Please hit the like button. And if you've not subscribed yet, please do that hype. If you have points left over, we'd appreciate that too. Helps the algorithm to push us up to other viewers. But also hit the notification bell because Derek and I went live a couple of days ago.
A
Yeah. Friday morning we went out to the barn, we did a live stream. Didn't give anyone any advance warning. We were just doing it as a proof of concept. And it was a little pixelated at times. That's just because of the slow connection we've got out there in the barn because goes from the router, which is here in the kitchen, through a repeater in the garage.
B
Two repeaters in the garage.
A
A repeater in the barn. Well, one in the garage and then a repeater in the barn, to another repeater in the barn.
B
I thought there were two in the garage. Maybe we just moved it.
A
Yeah, just one in the garage.
B
Bouncing, bouncing, bouncing.
A
Right.
B
And inside the garage we have. Sorry, inside the barn we have pretty decent. You know, you can definitely get your email, you can upload videos, things like that, if you need to download videos, if you need to. We've even got a place where we've watched television a few times. We've done a few zoom calls with other ministries.
A
Yeah. And those have worked out pretty well.
B
Those have worked out. So God has been good. But we'd love to have you join us next time.
A
Yeah, so we will do that again because it was a lot of fun getting the live interaction. And next time we will probably schedule it so that you'll get the notification that it's coming before we actually hit the live button. But that's the reason for hitting the notification bell. Not just every time we upload something, but if we decide to do another live, which we most.
B
We probably will.
A
Yeah. So that. That would be at Gilbert house. I'm sorry, YouTube.com@gilberthouse. So. Oh, and Just to make sure we don't get cancelled, we do encourage you to download our app. That's@gilberthouse.org app we've got a lot of things on our YouTube channel, including my podcast, A View from the Bunker. And the algorithm has gone back in time on a couple of those and said, no, we're going to, we're going to delete this video because it violates community standards three years after it was uploaded.
B
I know you and I try to be judicious in our language because this is a Mars Hill opportunity. We want to remain on this platform and any platform as long as we can. But yeah, download the app. You help to support us by doing that. It's totally free to you. It allows you to form to join the community that's on there. If you look at the top right of the app landing page, you will see a couple of talk bubbles and that's where you can go to interact with others. But also it supports a Christian company, Subsplash Designs, it maintains it and they store all of the content.
A
Right. So today we finally get back to the Book of Isaiah.
B
It's been a long time.
A
Yeah, we. And we're going to take a long time to get through Isaiah because Isaiah has got so much meat in it that we weren't even aware of the last time through.
B
No, we went through it pretty quickly and we thought we were going through slowly. As you will remember last two weeks ago, we were doing the first book of First Enoch, because we do that the last Sunday of every month. Last Sunday we did not. The first Sunday last Sunday we said first Sunday Last Sunday, on the first Sunday of June, we started recording the fellowship. And then the phone rang. And Joe Horn always gets through. No matter what, he always gets through. And we're glad for it because many of you are now aware that there was a great need that suddenly came up. It had been happening very quietly. But the folks, the good folks who take care of the numbers for Skywatch TV and Whispering Ponies Ranch had a meeting with Joe, who then called us. And Derek is on the board for Skywatch tv. So we were on the phone with him for over two hours. And by the time it was all finished, Derek and I started praying. And we just didn't feel like it was going to be the right thing to do to get right back into recording as if nothing had happened. Because as many of you are now aware, Whispering Ponies Ranch was going to go into the red before the end of this camping season. Whispering Ponies Ranch provides free Summer camps for children who are special because they are in situations that are grievous. Many of them have gotten to where they no longer trust adults at all. We'll just say that you can picture what I'm talking about.
A
They're in the system.
B
They're in the system. And so they're never the organization that brings them over. Never is charged even one penny, ever. Ever. For over nine years, it's always been free. So. But it was going to be difficult to make it free because it's your donations to Skywatch TV and your purchases to Skywatch TV that fund Whispering Ponies Ranch. Everyone's suffering right now. The economy is really slow, so donations have been dropping.
A
Yeah. And this is not unique to Skywatch tv. We're aware of other friends in Min who've seen similar things over the first half of this year. So we had thought that things were going to be secure for this camping season. And it became obvious within the last few weeks that it was not. So that was the discussion with Joe Horton. He was just sharing with us what he knew. And of course, me being on the board of directors was something that we were going to. I was going to find out the following day. Anyway, we had an emergency board meeting for Skywatch tv. But thankfully, because of the video appeal that Joe put out on Facebook and on YouTube and YouTube that you and many others stepped up and the financing, the funding for this camping season is now secure so that the ministries that bring children to Whispering Ponies Ranch for the children, formerly called Royal Family Kids and Teen Reach, which is for kids, children who've aged out of Royal Family kids, which is age 9 to 11. So 12 and up they go into Teen Reach. They will not have to make some hard decisions about who they can afford to bring and who they are going to have to leave home. And that is a true blessing. And I told Joe when we talked last Sunday that whatever happens, God was not going to abandon these children. And a miracle did really take place this week that funding has been secured. Now Skywatch TVs made a couple of changes too, that will save some money. Just say Skywatch TV has been on Christian television networks since its inception back in 2015, and that that is going to end within the next few weeks.
B
Right. Skywatch TV is a 501C3. So when you donate to Skywatch TV, you can take that off your taxes because that was set up the way, that way, intentionally. Skywatch TV essentially works with Whispering Ponies Ranch and gives a lot of funding to Whispering Ponies Ranch. Yes, yes, it's set up. It was set up by these amazing CPAs in a way that is absolutely wonderful. But when donations are down, it means Whispering Pony's Ranch doesn't have the funding. So you guys stepped up. Thank the Lord for doing that. Consider, if you haven't already helped out and you've got a little extra, consider donating to Skywatch TV. You can go to skywatchtvstore.com and contact us button. You will be able to find the phone number to call over there. There's a toll free number as well as a local number. Or you can email, or you can email us@infoilberthouse.org and we'll make sure that you are told exactly how you can go about helping.
A
And there's also a link directly@skywatchtvstore.com where you can donate through the Internet if you are comfortable doing that. So that's where the funding, as you said, the funding for Whispering Ponies Ranch comes from Skywatch tv and it is through your donations that that funding is secured. So that, that was the reason we weren't here last week. We were in the middle of a very deep and very serious discussion with Joe Horn about the way things were going. But again, because of Joe's appeal and your response to it, that the, the camping season for this year has been, I would say, saved.
B
It absolutely has been saved. Which means that the little lives that are affected, those, those lives are precious to the Lord.
A
Yes.
B
And he wanted to make sure and will always make sure that they are taken care of. So sometimes he does it through your intervention, sometimes he does so directly.
A
Yeah. And the need for this was, is, was emphasized by a story that was hit the news this week that the Department of Health and Human Services, I believe, or Homeland Security announced that they had found and rescued 186,000 children who had been released into the country under the Biden administration and then lost. These are migrant children who were brought into the country, unaccompanied minors, children who crossed the border without an adult and were then collected by a, quote, sponsor, unquote, and then disappeared, fell off the radar. And the Biden administration said, well, they're not lost, we just don't know where they are. Well, this is why HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Said early in his tenure that the previous administration was actually facilitating the trafficking of children, which is horrific. But the sad truth is that children are more profitable than prostitution or drugs. That is a sad reality in the world in which we live. And that is why we do what we do at Skywatch TV through Whispering Ponies Ranch, and only through your support.
B
Amen to that. So go to prayer.
A
The word of prayer.
B
Yep.
A
Father, we thank youk. And we know, Father, that yout have said, while youe walk this earth, suffer the little children to come unto me. And that whoever harms one of these children, it would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone around their neck. Then the punishment they will receive, the rewards that they will have earned for themselves in the next life. So, Father, we pray for your protection over these little ones. As you said, their angels are always before the face of before youe face. But we know, Lord, as we are youe image bearers in this earth, it is on us. To do the hard work of working to reach these children, to draw them, to pull them out of situations that they were never intended to endure and show them that there are. Show them the love that you have shared with us, just as you have pulled us out of the clutches of the fallen realm. Father, what a metaphor. These children are precious to you. So, Lord, how can we do anything but the work we try to do to make facilities like Whispering Ponies Ranch available to begin the healing process. Or ministries like Troy brewers, where they physically go into some of the darker places in this world and literally buy children and bring them to safety? Lord, we know this was not the way you intended for this world to be. So, Father, we pray for your spirit to work, to move, to stir up a righteous anger in those of us who have any kind of means to support the work of rescuing and healing children. And, Lord, as we study youy Word today, may we recognize in youn Word the truth of this spiritual war that has been going ongoing since before the garden. These spiritual forces that powers and principalities and cosmic rulers over this present darkness who tried to destroy what you created and call good. Father, we pray for wisdom and discernment to understand your Word to the best of our ability. And we ask this in Jesus name. Amen.
B
Amen. Amen.
A
So, if you're following along, we do have a calendar of upcoming readings posted both at our website, Gilberthouse.org and in the app under the calendar section. Bible Study. I did update it, so after we skipped last week. So you'll see we've got Isaiah 12. And then for some reason, we go to the Book of Micah. Well, that's because we're reading in chronological order, the order in which things happened. Things happen. Right. And so we find that because there were a number of prophets in Isaiah's day that were contemporary. We kind of skipped back and forth a little bit. So we're looking forward to getting to Isaiah 14, but it's probably going to take us two or three weeks to get through Isaiah 14. So Isaiah 12, you will say in that day. Nope. Remember last week we, we did, we
B
backed up to 11 because I think
A
that's a good idea because we could kind of get a running start at 12, which gives it more context, especially since it's been about five weeks since we were last in Isaiah.
B
It, it, there's so much in Isaiah 12 it begins with. Sorry, 11 it begins with, there shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. We get the, the spirits before the Lord. We get a number of wonderful familiar passages like in verse six, where the wolf will lie down with the lamb. No, it's not, not the lion. And believe it or not, it is. And the cow and the bear. We don't even think about the cow and the bear. Yeah, Calendar shall graze together, which is one. Dude, cows and bears, you know, let's all go eat some grass. Yeah, we know they go in the woods, but other than that, you know, there's that. But in here we get into verse 11 in that day.
A
Well, I was going to start with verse 10 actually.
B
No, then, then back up in that day.
A
The root of Jesse again, the descendant of David who shall stand as a signal for the peoples of him shall the nations inquire in his resting place shall be glorious. Yeah, basically. Meaning actually divine glory. Not what we think of as you know, oh, he's got a really nice
B
tomb there in the Septuagint, says in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall arise to rule over the Gentiles, in him shall the Gentiles trust and his rest shall be glorious. Now, can you imagine, can you imagine being the one who gets this message back in the day? Isaiah says, you know, this is what the Lord, the burden has been given to me and I've got to write it down. I've got to tell you about it. So you're talking about the root of Jesse, Jesse, the father of David, well known Jewish man. And you're saying in this person who's going to be coming and ruling over the Gentiles, and the Gentiles are going to trust him. What do the Gentiles have to do with us?
A
Exactly. Yeah. But even in the, the esv, which is Based on the Masoretic text, it says of him shall the Goyim the nations inquire.
B
Yeah.
A
Basically mean non Jews.
B
This is referring, of course, to. To not only the root of Jesse, but the branch of Jesse. It's the root of which is the Lord himself. And the branch being Yeshua, who is also the Lord. So that's why they're Alpha, Omega, both and.
A
Oh yeah, good catch. Verse 11. In that day, the Lord. And there, that's Adonai. When we see all caps L O R D, we say Yahweh just because. Seems to make it more personal. It's not a sacred name sort of thing.
B
No. And Yahweh, Adonai, there are many names. El Shaddai, many names for the Lord God, Creator Yeshua.
A
Yeah. And when it says in that day or on that day in the Old Testament, just a reminder, that's a reference to the day of Yahweh, the day of the Lord, which is when he comes down and puts a stop to all this foolishness.
B
Yep. Which hasn't happened yet.
A
Hasn't happened yet. In that day, the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people. From Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea
B
in the Septuagint says from Egypt, from the country of Babylon, from Ethiopia and from the Elamites and from the rising of the sun and out of Arabia.
A
Yeah. The Masoretes added a few other things. Pathros is southern Egypt on the border with Sudan. Ethiopia in that region, that Horn of Africa region. Kush is of course, Ethiopia. Elam is what is now part of western Iran, Shinar, Babylon, Mesopotamia. Hamath is northern Syria, the coastlands of the sea. Probably a reference to the Aegean, you know, western Anatolia.
B
That region, like I said in the Septuagint, it's really kind of different.
A
They would have had a different, I think, orientation by the time the Masoretic text was complete in the year 900 AD, the Septuagint was done by. Completed by about 200 BC.
B
Yeah.
A
So a little different. The Jews had not been scattered across the world at that point. He will raise a signal for the nations and assemble the banished of Israel and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
B
Would you say this has happened yet?
A
Well, given that it follows in that day.
B
That's where I'm going with this.
A
Yeah, I think because we discussed this last week before, Joe called and you actually persuaded me that you were correct. No, I think this is yet future, but we're seeing the beginnings of this now where Jews in Europe, in the uk, even here in North America are finding themselves thinking, hey, we're not safe here.
B
They are not. Since October 7th of 2023, the Anti Semitic strain that had been sort of hidden has now become mainstream and it's actually popular. I hate to say that, but it's becoming a popular ideology. And so I think we're going to see the dispersion return from the four corners of the earth.
A
Yeah. And I think that's essentially what Isaiah
B
is describing here, and that's what it literally says in the Septuagint.
A
Yeah, yeah. The jealousy of Ephraim shall depart, and those who harass Judah shall be cut off. Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not harass Ephraim.
B
That was verse 14, 13. Oh, okay.
A
Ephraim, of course, is reference to the. The northern tribes.
B
Oh, yes, yes.
A
Yeah.
B
Sorry, my eyes skipped down a verse.
A
But they shall swoop down on the shoulder of the Philistines in the west, and together they shall plunder the people of the East. They shall put out their hand against Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites shall obey them.
B
Verse 14 in the Septuagint is really interesting. And they shall fly in the ships of the Philistines. They shall at the same time spoil the sea and them that come from the east. And Idumea Edom fly in the ships of the Philistines. Isn't that interesting?
A
Yeah, it's curious, I know, because the Masoretic text is swooped down on the shoulder of the Philistines. That's a reference to the hill country west of the territory of Judah, but. Yeah. No reference to flying in ships. Yeah. Now, interestingly, the. The Lexham Septuagint, which is a more modern translation, says they will fly in foreigners ships. The Greek is allophylon. And I'm not sure if that's the Greek term for Philistine or not, to be honest.
B
Well, yeah, that is really interesting. I mean, if you want to take that into our modern concept of what that sentence says in this Septuagint. It's that they're getting on foreigners planes and making aliyah.
A
Yeah. And there is a reference in Isaiah 49 to, to that fact that the, the nations, the goyim, will bring the remnant of Israel back to the land. Carl Gallups has talked about that.
B
And there's also a verse that Talks about an eagle taking the woman who's in peril, the woman who's about to give birth.
A
Revelation.
B
Eagle taking her to safety.
A
Yeah. Edom, Moab Amon, the Ammonites. That basically is all part of the country of Jordan today. And Yahweh will utterly destroy the tongue of the Sea of Egypt and will wave his hand over the river with his scorching breath. That would be the Euphrates. Normally, although I think we saw in the.
B
It. It definitely says, we'll make desolate the Sea of Egypt.
A
Yeah. The notes and the Septuagint say the river actually refers to the Nile, so.
B
I think so, too. I think so, too, because we get a reference that in this verse in the Septuagint that makes it sound like it's a repeat of the escape from Egypt.
A
Right, right. The tongue of the Sea of Egypt will wave his hand over the river with his scorching breath and strike it into seven channels. That would seem to indicate the Nile, not the Euphrates.
B
Yes. So that men shall pass through it. Dry, shod.
A
Yeah. He will lead people across in sandals,
B
just like back in the day.
A
Yeah. And there will be a highway from Assyria for the remnant that remains of his people, as there was for Israel when they came up from the land of Egypt.
B
But it does not say that in the Septuagint. No, it says, and there shall be a passage referring back to verse 15. There shall be a passage for my people that are left in Egypt, and it shall be to Israel as the day when he came forth out of the land of Egypt.
A
Yeah.
B
Syria is not in here.
A
And again, I think this is just a difference in the geographic dispersion of the Jews. By the time of the completion of the Masoretic text, there were quite a few Jews who were still remaining in what was Iraq. What is Iraq and Iran today? Not so many. In Egypt, there was a rebellion by Jews in between the Great Jewish revolt in the year 67 and the Bar Kokhfa rebellion in the year 132. It was around year 115 AD, and the Jewish communities in Egypt were basically just wiped out. I don't know if they had been rebuilt or not, but I know that there was a much more robust Jewish community in Mesopotamia in Iraq and Iran than in Egypt after that period.
B
Bottom line is four corners of the earth, the Lord is going to make a way for all of his people to come home.
A
Right. And again, we're starting to see the conditions that would motivate Jews to head back to Israel when they realize that. Well, in fact, we were talking to our friend Ron Silberman, who was here
B
A
Yeah. A tour guide for Lipkin Tours. He was one of our guides on our 2023 tour. And we became very good friends. And he said, now Jews in Europe, Jews are afraid to speak Hebrew on the streets anymore because they get identified as a Jew.
B
Or wear a kippah.
A
Or a kippah. Right.
B
Heaven forbid you're wearing the tzitzit or have the little curls along your.
A
Yeah. They're getting physically assaulted. So this is. Is the kind of situation that Jews found themselves in the late 19th century when they began making aliyah. Okay, move now to chapter 12, Isaiah.
B
By the way, why Facebook? It doesn't appear to be working very well. I'm trying to find the post you mentioned, Ron Silberman. Oh, it's June 20th. Avi Lipkin is going to be here for one month.
A
Yeah.
B
Beginning on June 20th. So if you would like for him to speak at your church, let us know infoilberthouse.org or just send a message to Aaron Lipkin on Facebook.
A
Yeah, yeah. And they will get a message to Avi. Avi is. I've said before, and I'll say again, when I first. We first encountered Avi, first met him years ago at prophecy watchers conferences, and I heard him talking about, you know, the threat posed by Islam. I was still kind of early in the research here.
B
I know.
A
I thought, oh, he's pretty radical. I don't know if I should even have him on my podcast. And I've come to, and I've told him since that I've come to realize that Avi is right. He's been right about everything.
B
He's been right about everything. He knows his history. He knows his Bible, and he sees where it's going. And he wants very much to help the one new man.
A
Yes.
B
If you want Jews and Christians, Jews and Christians working together politically as well as theologically. So he's put together by the Bible block party, and he will talk about what's going on in Israel, the history of Israel, whatever you want him to talk about, because he can talk for hours on any topic.
A
Yeah. And if you've not been paying attention to the increasingly bold proclamations by Muslim imams here in the us, uk, Europe, you really need to start paying attention because they are making it clear that they intend. They do not intend to assimilate. They intend to dominate.
B
Exactly.
A
And that's what Avi's been saying. For decades.
B
But we have these promises. So now that we set up the beginning of chapter 12 again, understanding there were no chapter divisions back in the day, just various visions.
A
Yes. Isaiah 12, you will say in that day again, the day of Yahweh, I will give thanks to you, O Yahweh. For though you were angry with me, your anger turned away that you might comfort me. Behold, God is my salvation. In other words, God is my Yeshua. That's the. That's the word in Hebrew there. I will trust and will not be afraid for Yahweh. Yahweh. Yahweh. It's actually the Lord God, but it. In Hebrew, it's actually Yah. Yahweh. Yeah. Yeah. So that's. That's what it. That's what Isaiah wrote. Yah, Yahweh is my strength and my song, and he has become my Yeshua.
B
It's a Septuagint. I'm sorry, go ahead. I was just going to say, in the Septuagint, it is. Because in the Septuagint, the English translation, you don't see all caps, Lord, ever.
A
Right.
B
But it says, behold, my God is my Savior. Behold, my God is my Savior. Behold, God is Yeshua. Jesus is Yahweh. I will trust in him and not be afraid. For the Lord is my glory and my praise and has become my salvation. Those are radical words. Radical words. Because this is a civilization that they're used to atonement through their own activities.
A
Right, Right. Yeah. Which was part of the law, you
B
know, to be fair. Exactly.
A
God did tell them here, you know, sin, sacrifices.
B
Exactly. Because all of that was a picture of man's inability to fulfill the law.
A
Right.
B
Yeshua fulfills the law, and therefore, as a substitute, can become our salvation.
A
Right. Now, looking backwards through history, we can see what this was leading to, you know, the cross.
B
But at the time. At the time, they didn't probably thought, what. What are you saying here?
A
Yeah. Probably understood it a different way. I mean, even down to the first century, they were still. When John the Baptist came, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, that was radical. And that's why. And again, looking backwards, we can say, well, that all makes sense. That fits into what Isaiah was writing. And Jeremiah, your sacrifices mean nothing to me because your heart is far from me.
B
The rest of this whole chapter is. Continues on this theme. It continues to be somewhat radical, I think.
A
Yeah. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. Living water.
B
Yes, exactly. This is a Picture of the Lord in Israel, in Jerusalem.
A
And you will say in that day, give thanks to Yahweh. Call upon his name. Make known his deeds among the peoples. Proclaim that his name is exalted.
B
Hashem.
A
Yeah. And we'll say again that the name was not just God's reputation, it was another manifestation of God himself. Follow the angel of Yahweh, for My name is in him. Make known his deeds among the peoples. Proclaim that his name is exalted. Sing praises to Yahweh, for he has done gloriously. Let this be made known in all the earth. Shout and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion. For great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel, In Israel, in your midst.
B
Yeshua, reigning from Jerusalem.
A
Yes. And reference to Ezekiel 39, where God appears on the battlefield. The nations will know I'm the Holy One in Israel. Yes.
B
Isn't that wonderful? How did we miss all of this when we went through this before?
A
I. Well, we were young.
B
I know. We were so much younger and now we're so much older.
A
Yes.
B
We just have more context now, I think.
A
I think that's it. Now to the Book of Micah.
B
We have time, I think.
A
Oh, we do, yes. We're only at about 35 minutes, so. Or something 40. 40 minutes. So we got. We're not going to get all seven chapters of Micah.
B
No, we're not.
A
Let's see if I can find time stamping this. Micah was toward the end of the the 8th century BC he prophesied in Judah during the reigns of the kings Yotham, Ahaz and hezekiah. That's roughly 750 to 700 B.C. that's about the same time as Isaiah, which is why we're skipping from Isaiah 12 to Micah. The northern kingdom of Israel fell during Micah's ministry year 722 B.C. and the Assyrians, those dirty rotten Assyrians, almost captured Jerusalem in the year 701 BC so little historical context background for the
B
Book of Micah also gives more context to Isaiah, I think, since these are going on at about the same time.
A
Yes, yes. Micah, by the way, is a name that means who is like Yahweh. It's shortened form of the name Micaiah, who was the prophet who told Ahab that he was going to die because lying spirit had gone into the mouths of all of his prophets.
B
Verse 1, the Word of the Lord that came to Micah of Moresheth.
A
That's a town near Gath in the
B
Philistine territories in the days of Yotham Ahaz and Hezekiah, Kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem. Hear you peoples, all of you, pay attention, O earth and all that is in it. And let the Lord God be a witness against you. Now, I'm reading from the ESV and I've not seen any all caps. Tell me if I'm reading it at a Bible dog cup that hub.
A
Let the Lord Yahweh be a witness against you.
B
Okay, it just says let the Lord God. No caps. Let me go to the other one just to make sure. Give me a second here.
A
Yeah, the Lord God. Yeah.
B
The word of Yahweh came to Micah of Morisheth in the days of your time. Ahaz and Hezekiah, Kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem. It's interesting because at Bible Hub or BibleHub.com sorry, it does not put all caps. Oh, unlike it. Blue Letter Bible.
A
Okay, it's. It's a little more difficult to do in. Yeah, it's a little more difficult to do when you're using HTML.
B
I was reading. The reason I was@biblehub.com is because that is where I read the Septuagint. I like finding free resources or free racehorses if they happen to be in the backyard. The word of Yahweh that came to Micah in the days of Yatam, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, when he saw which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem. Hear you peoples, all of you, pay attention, O earth and all that is in it. And let the Lord Yahweh be a witness against you. The Lord from his holy temple. So is that the holy temple in Jerusalem or is this the one that we see in heaven? It's not clear. For behold, Yahweh is coming out of his place and will come down and tread upon the high places of the earth. And the mountains will melt under him, and the valleys will split open like wax before the fire. Like waters poured down a steep place.
A
Treading on the high places. I imagine that would also have a dual meaning. Mountains which were the domain of the gods and God would be reclaiming them for himself. You know, think Mount Hermon, Mount Zephon,
B
the Mount of Olives. When the Lord lands on the Mount of Olives, he is literally treading on high places. Those were put there by Solomon.
A
Yes, but in high places. In terms of the cultic high places.
B
That's what I mean. Yeah, but also that is going to split in two.
A
Right.
B
And the valleys will split open like wax before the fire, like waters poured down a steep place. Verse 5. All this is for the transgression of Jacob. Jacob, of course, refers to all Israel. And for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? Is it not Samaria? And what is the high place of Judah? Is it not Jerusalem? Therefore, I will make Samaria a heap in the open country, a place for planting vineyards. And I will pour down her stones into the valley and uncover her foundations. All the carved images shall be beaten to pieces. All her wages shall be burned with fire. Wages. It's hard to say what. What is actually meant by wages is more than just, here's your paycheck. Let me see what the original language here says.
A
I was looking at. I don't recognize the word images
B
in the. Sorry. Okay. Oh. Oh, interesting. Now, going to an alternate translation I've just been reading from the esv. If you go to the New American Standard Bible, you get this. In that verse, all of her idols shall be smashed. All of her earnings will be burned with fire, and all of her images I will make desolate, for she collected them from a harlot's earnings, and to the earnings of a harlot, they will return. Perhaps that's what's meant by wages in this. In the esv, all her carved images shall be beaten to pieces. All of her wages shall be burned with fire. All her idols I will lay waste. For the fee of a prostitute she gathered them for. From the fee of a prostitute she gathered them, and the fee of a prostitute to the fee of a prostitute, they shall return. There's nothing good in this picture.
A
No, no. The Net Bible, new English translation, renders it. All her carved idols will be smashed to pieces, and all her cult. Metal. Cult statues will be destroyed by fire. They render it that way because the. They're comparing the. The carved idols to the pieces of metal that a prostitute would receive for her services.
B
Oh, and that makes perfect sense.
A
I will make a waste heap of all her images since she gathered the metal as a prostitute collects her wages.
B
Mm.
A
Yeah. So basically, God's saying, I'm going to return the metal to its original, original form.
B
Yeah, that you actually, you know, took it out of the earth.
A
Right.
B
Verse 8. For this I will lament and wail. I will go stripped and naked. I will make lamentation like the jackals and. And mourning like the ostriches.
A
We can actually attest to the sound of jackals.
B
Oh, boy.
A
We heard jackals when we were in Israel in 2023. They followed us, it sounded like, because we heard them when we were at Gilgal Rephaim in the middle of the Golan Heights. But then we went to the Hula Valley, which is the valley the Jordan river flows through between Mount Hermon and the Sea of Galilee. And we could hear them again closer.
B
Yeah. Are they following us?
A
Probably not the same pack of jackals. But they do have wild jackals in Israel.
B
They do.
A
The sound they make is really eerie.
B
I want to just look at the. The word translated ostriches can refer to a description of character. But I thought for some reason it must not be this original word. It's. But. But that refers to females in. In. And it's the idea of the having the bat mitzvah. But ostriches, why is it translated ostriches?
A
I don't know.
B
But here's the thing. The word translated jackals is tannin.
A
Is it?
B
Yes. Which is dragon.
A
You are correct. Yeah.
B
Which. Which me and this. Why I looked up ostriches. Because sometimes that word actually refers to. Refers to a spirit entity.
A
Yes. The Septuagint renders it this way. Instead of saying, I will lament and wail. On account of this, she will beat herself and lament. In other words, Samaria, the northern kingdom,
B
makes so much more sense.
A
On account of this, she will beat herself and lament. She will go barefoot and naked. She will make lamentation like serpents. The Greek translation there is Dracon. Dragon.
B
Yes, exactly.
A
So you're right. It. The Septuagint translators, the Jewish scholars who translated this from Hebrew into Greek around the third century B.C. they saw this a little differently. Instead of jackals and mourning like the daughters of sirens. Sirens.
B
These are spirit entities that are being referred to. And it's so interesting, this idea of lamenting and wailing for the loss of your access to the so called ancestors.
A
Yeah.
B
And I do think it should. Should be in verse 8 for she will. Because in verse 9 we get. For her wound is incurable and it has come to Judah. It has reached to the gate of my people. I want to see what the word here that's translated wound is.
A
Septuagint renders it her blow. Her plague.
B
Yes.
A
Become grievous.
B
It. Yes, exactly.
A
Yeah. Basically it's a contagion that they're discussing here is spiritual contagion.
B
Verse 10. Tell it not in gas. Weep not at all in Bethleh. Bethlehem. Where is that? As in Bethlehem.
A
Ephratah names. The name means house of dust. It was between Lachish and Jerusalem, identified with modern et. Taiba.
B
Okay.
A
Taiba.
B
Yes, I see that.
A
House of dust.
B
Yeah. Our good friend Aaron Lipkin lives in Ofra. I just want to make sure it wasn't related to.
A
No, no. Anyway, other direction.
B
Yeah. Verse 11. Pass on your way and hit inhabitants of Shafir in nakedness and shame. The inhabitants of Za' Anan do not come out. Where is Za'? Anan? Any idea? Because these names are in here for a reason.
A
It's showing place of flocks. An unidentified city located in the Judean hill country. Probably modern day Xenon. Judean hill country would be south of Jerusalem, I think.
B
Is that that area where we went to Mount Azazel?
A
Very possibly.
B
Because trust me, that is a barren wasteland with very little but goats, Bedouins.
A
No other direction. Town like located in the Shephalah, the lowlands of Judah.
B
Oh, yeah. Okay.
A
The same district as Lachish, which is southwest of. Southwest of Jerusalem.
B
Okay. Pass on your way. Inhabitants of Shafir and nakedness and shame. The inhabitants of Zatnan do not come out. The lamentation of Beth Atzel shall take away from you it its standing place. Interesting. Let's take a look at that.
A
Beth Ezel, house of. House of the leader. Located in southern Judah. Getting down in the direction of the Negev.
B
Okay. And the original word there that says that is translated in the esv. A standing place might mean support or even a place to lodge for the inhabitants of Maroth wait anxiously for good because disaster has come down from YHWH to the gate of Jerusalem. Harness the steeds to the chariots. Inhabitants of Lachish. It was the beginning of sin to the daughter of Zion. For in you were found the transgressions of Israel. Therefore you shall give parting gifts. Lovely parting gifts. You shall give. Let me see what the alternate trend. Or give dowry. That's interesting. To Mooresh got the houses of shall be a deceitful thing to the kings of Israel.
A
Deceitful thing. Well, Aqib means deceptive.
B
I figured that must be something. I will again bring a conqueror to you. Inhabitants of Marsha. The glory of Israel shall come to Adullam. The cave of Adullam?
A
Yep. That's five miles south of Beth Shemesh in the hill country of Judah. Again, southwest of Jerusalem.
B
Isn't that in that.
A
That's where David fled.
B
Isn't that in that park?
A
The. The park.
B
Oh, gosh. What's the name of the area we visit? And there's a one falls waterfall down there and up on the hills. You can see all of the caves.
A
No, no, different caves. This is south and west of Jerusalem.
B
Okay.
A
And Getty is right on the shore of the Dead Sea.
B
That's right. Yeah. Yeah, in Getty. That is what I was thinking of.
A
But no, after David left gas, he went and fled to the cave of Adullam. So he was headed towards Jerusalem and stopped at Adullam. So what God is saying here is that the leaders of the glory of Israel, the leaders of Israel will hide at Adullam, just like David did.
B
I will again bring a conqueror to you inhabitants of Mareshah. The glory of Israel shall come to a dollarman. Make yourselves bald and cut off your hair for the children of delight. Make yourselves as bald as the eagle, for they shall go from you into exile. This is again, this is a prophet who is being given a vision and given the words of the Lord to speak at about the same time Isaiah was receiving the vision that we just discussed a little while ago.
A
Yeah.
B
Of the end days.
A
This could be. Well, yeah, this is an already, but not yet, because he had not yet seen the destruction of the northern kingdom. And he is prophesying the arrival of. Gosh, who was it?
B
Was it in the seventh century B.C? well, eighth century B.C. i mean.
A
Yeah. Who. Who was the conqueror? Verse 15. Sennacherib.
B
Oh, yes.
A
I was thinking Shalmaneser, but no Sennacherib. I knew it started with an S. He was the one who led the army against Jerusalem. And then they had 180,000 die in a single night outside the walls of Jerusalem. And then Sennacherib went home and was assassinated by his sons. So not a happy ending for him. But in the end times, there will be another who will come against Jerusalem. And so I think you could say that Micah1 here is a prophecy of not just the coming of Sennacherib in the year 701 BC, but the future Antichrist, Seneca being perhaps a type of Antichrist.
B
And he shall set up his tent between the glorious, beautiful city and the sea.
A
Yeah, so that's. Well, an interesting introduction to the book of Micah we had on the counter. We would go. When we got to Micah, we'd do all seven chapters in a week. Oh, my sweet summer child. Yeah, not. Not happening. Because we're already at one hour now,
B
so we haven't even done a question or the old geezer report. By the way, I think it would be kind of fun to do a. Perhaps just a question and answer session live one of these days.
A
Well, yeah, if we go out to
B
the barn and you guys log on and ask us some questions and, and we'll see if we can come up with answers.
A
We wouldn't even have to do it from the barn. We could do it right here. Doing audio only.
B
If it's just audio. Exactly.
A
Yeah. But yeah, that would be.
B
Wouldn't it be fun?
A
Yeah. Yeah. That's so almost like a live Bible study.
B
I know we, we could do it it right now. I think it would just have to be here on YouTube if you're listening on YouTube, because doing it on multiple platforms at the same time and seeing your questions would be difficult. But if we do it just on YouTube, we can easily see your questions.
A
Right, Right. And I think that would be. Yeah, thinking through the logistics. Easy enough to do. I'll think about that later.
B
Make it as simple as possible. That's my thinking.
A
We're not in the mood actually doing this thing. But yeah, that would be easy enough to do and I think we could, we could handle it without too much difficulty.
B
Yeah.
A
So. Well, speaking of questions, but we've got some, got some good ones here.
B
You guys always come up with the best questions.
A
You can forward these to us either through email infoilberthouse.org or you can go into our app, go into the conversations section and go on to either questions for Sharon or questions for Derek and then toss those questions there. And I try to remember to go through and grab questions out of there and got a good one this week from Kyla who says, I apologize if you've answered this in one of your books. I've been listening to the Gilbert House Fellowship for a few years and have listened to all the Unraveling Revelation series. Thank you so very much for you and Sharon serving the Lord and doing this. I've been greatly blessed by your ministry. Thank you, Kyla.
B
Thank you, Kyla.
A
I know Satan and Shemyaza translated differently by different scholars. Some spell it out Semjaza, but Shemyaza appears to be a better pronunciation.
B
Well, J is still a Y sound.
A
A lot of times Shemyaza are not the same. If Lucifer is Shemyaza and if he's the leader of of the Watchers rebellion, why and how are the Nephilim and Giants, seeds of the serpent, Cheravim and Seraphim, Cherubim. But our Israeli friends tell us it's pronounced Cheravim and Seraphim are different. Right? I am so confused. For a bit of context, I've read Birthright and I'm now making my Way through Gary Wayne's Genesis 6 conspiracy.
B
Oh God bless you Kyla.
A
900 pages. Yeah, yeah. I have read and listened to many of Ken Johnson's materials and read Donna Howells before Genesis. Some of these brothers and sisters make their cases saying that Satan is Lucifer and Shemyaza is Azazel or Azazel help. Well the simple answer is we're right and they're wrong.
B
No, we don't say that. May I jump in and suggest an answer to this question? And then you're more of an expert so I will let you have the last word on this. My first thought is, and I have to credit Elie Marzulli for this and it probably goes back before to others, so. But Marzulli is the first one I know of who suggested it. Shimyaza, the leader of the Watchers and the Watchers who descended to Mount Hermon and took wives for themselves and begat giants probably were sent here as a test and a trap. The Lord knew exactly what they would do. He sent them down probably to shepherd mankind, knowing full well they were going to enjoy themselves and accept worship. Test in a trap. He always knew. But he gave them the opportunity, the free will, opportunity to prove him wrong.
A
Yes.
B
And yet he was right, of course. Shimyaza as the leader, perhaps a higher level type of Watcher class angel. I think that when he arrived, Satan who was already here, Satan who had tempted Eve, Satan who is an Akash. What that means as far as angelic hierarchy or appearance, don't know. But then Akash may have been a serpentine dragon like looking entity who. Hey Shimmy, how you doing? Welcome to Earth. It's great here. You're going to really enjoy yourselves. I know that you've been given a job, but you know how he kicked me out for just doing my job?
A
Accusing, Accusing.
B
It was my job. Kick me out for that. You know it occurred to me that if we just had bigger numbers we could easily have taken him out and we'd be ruling there right now. So the fact that we can't make more numbers because Adam and Eve were told that they could actually make new versions of themselves. They can procreate. We've been denied that. But guess what I've discovered. We can change how we look and interact down here. It's different in this estate. Not the, not the estate in heaven where we were created, but here we can actually do things that. I've never personally done it, but I think you're the guy. And aren't they pretty and you know, if we were able to procreate with them and I'm pretty sure we can then here that we could create an army because angel plus human. Yeah, I don't think it's going to be a human product here. I think this is going to be something really great. New and improved hybrid race, you know, is going to be just even greater. So let's build an army and yeah, but Shimyasa says hey look, hold on, that's not the job. And. And he kicked you out. What do you think he's going to do with us? We are already here. He can't kick us out. We're already here. Well, I'll tell you what, if he does anything that is a punishment, there might be a possible imprisonment, don't know. But if that happens, I will get you out, I promise. Bust you out of prison on my word. Yeah, your word is a liar. My word. I'll totally get you out. And that may be why that happens. So in a way, Satan was not the direct procreator, but he was the one who sowed the idea of that new seed.
A
Right.
B
So in a way this is the seed of the serpent.
A
Yeah, that is the thing, Kyla. I think a lot of what and I was guilty of this. Our friend David W. Lowe about 15 years ago wrote a book called Deconstructing Lucifer. And I need to go back and reread that for the second or third time.
B
It would be my second time.
A
I think he made the case that Satan and Lucifer are not the same. And when I first interviewed him for A View from the Bunker back in, I don't know, 2009 or 10, somewhere in there, early in the days of A View from the Bunker, I kind of laughed and said, come on David, everybody knows Satan is Lucifer. But then when I did the research for the second coming of Saturn, I began to realize that a lot of what we think we know about Satan and Lucifer is not really in the Bible. It's tradition that's been handed down to us. And that also applies to phrases like seed of the serpent and who was in the garden in Ezekiel 28. So let me break this down. First of all, when in Genesis 3 God says there would be war between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent. It doesn't explicitly say that the seed of the serpent would be the giants or the Nephilim.
B
Right.
A
In the same way that when Jesus accused the Pharisees of being liars like their father the Devil, it doesn't mean that the Pharisees either worshiped Satan or were literal descendants of Satan. That's not what Jesus was saying, saying that those who were following in his behavior, lying, deceiving, manipulating, controlling, that's the seed of the serpent. I think he was not literally saying, you know, okay, maybe he was referring to a literal seed line. But again, it doesn't explicitly say the giants. That's an assumption made by those who are connecting the Nephilim to Satan. Secondly, We've always assumed that, based on the Masoretic translation of Ezekiel 28, that the rebel from Eden was the guardian cherub who covers. That's the way it's rendered in Ezekiel 28, I believe, verse 16, if I remember correctly. And why did I hit Ezekiel 29:16? Because my fingers don't go where I tell them to. Verse 14, you were an anointed guardian cherub, or in the King James, the guardian cherub who covers. But in the Septuagint translation, the Septuagint, which again was translated about a thousand years, eleven hundred years before the Masoretic translation, it reads this. From the day you were created, I placed you with the cherub in the holy mountain of God. You came to be in the middle of fiery stones. And we've talked in our earlier studies on the book of 1 Enoch, who around 1st Enoch 20, the rebellious angels in the netherworld are described as burning mountains. So there's this idea that, like the stars representing angels, burning stones. So the day you were created, I placed you with the cherub in the holy mountain of God. You came to be in the middle of fiery stones. You came to be blameless in your days, from the day you were created until unrighteous things were found in you. Verse 16, because of the abundance of, of your merchandise, you filled your treasuries with lawlessness, and you sinned and were wounded from the mountain of God, and the cherub led you out of the middle of the fiery stones. In other words, the guardian cherub kicked you out of Eden. So whoever this rebel was, it wasn't the cherub. So it could have been the nakash. It was, I think, more likely Shemyaza, but we don't know. Shemyaza might have been in Akash as well.
B
Exactly. We do not know what they looked like, right? But we do get a lot of imagery, including Leviathan, the Chaos Dragon, Tiamat, that appears to be a nakash of some kind. But getting back to the idea of the serpent seed in verse Genesis, chapter 3, verse 15, the word there is Sarah in the original Hebrew. But it can mean seed or offspring. So it doesn't have your spiritual father. Therefore the offspring can be blamed on Satan. Because even as you say, the Lord himself referred to your father, the devil. The devil, Satan, whom he identified with baal. Baal, the storm God. So this is a deity who's still on Earth at that time, not in Tartarus.
A
Yeah.
B
Which gets back to the idea that Marzulli floated that maybe he whispered to Shemyaza, said, let's build an army. We'll totally get him this time. And if for some reason it fails, I will bail you out. If you go to prison.
A
Right. There will be a jailbreak. And of course that hasn't happened. In other words, Satan was eliminating a rival.
B
Yes, but at the same time building an army and saying, I didn't do it.
A
Yeah, you can't throw me in Tartarus because I didn't do it.
B
Yeah, exactly.
A
Yeah. That's the other thing that we assume. In fact, I have started a new series of short videos called Just Five Things. And the first one went up this past month, Monday. Just five things you should know about Satan. And one of them was, one of the points was Satan is not the Lord of hell. Because nowhere in the Bible is he connected to the underworld.
B
No.
A
Now we assume that. Well, wait a minute. Yeah. Isaiah 14, he's thrown down a shale where the, the shades or the rephaim rise up to greet him. Yeah, but that doesn't say, say it's Satan that rebel in Isaiah 14. And Ezekiel 28 is not connected to Genesis 3 and the sin of the Nakash. Satan. The first Christian theologian To connect Isaiah 14 and Lucifer, this being who was thrown down a shale with Satan was a guy named Justin Martyr around the year 160, 65 AD. So 135 years after the resurrection.
B
And this is based primarily on a Latin version of the Hebrew. Yeah, the Hebrew actually says Hillel Ben Shachar.
A
Right. Although the looks. Pharaohs. That was, you know, the Lorigen, who was still like 60 years in the future for Justin Martyr.
B
But my point is that Lucifer is not in there.
A
Right, Right. They wouldn't even called him.
B
That's not his name.
A
Correct. Yeah, they wouldn't have even called him.
B
Lucifer is his name.
A
Right.
B
Which is very close to Kal El, which is the real name of Superman.
A
Yes. So, yeah, they wouldn't have even known the name Lucifer in the time of Justin Martyr.
B
Right.
A
It's. He, what he did was he looked at, was it Luke 11 where Jesus said I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning and said, oh yes, that must be Isaiah 14. But none of the apostles thought that. No, there is no writing prior to Justin Martyr in the year 165 that connected Isaiah 14, Luke 11. In other words, Satan and the rebel from, you know, Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28. So I think a lot of the assumptions that Satan is Lucifer are based on that tradition going back, you know, 1900 years to Justin Martyr and then reinforced by Origen, who's the first one who translated Helel as Lucifer. And then Jerome put it in the Vulgate, the Latin Vulgate, which then became part of the Roman Catholic canon for the last 1600 years.
B
You did a 13 part series series on the second coming of Saturn.
A
Yeah, and that's one of the, one of the episodes, 1320 minute videos. I will get those uploaded to YouTube this week.
B
Good. Because I think Kyla, that will help to answer if you want to understand Derek's point of view regarding Shimyaza. I think that will really help.
A
Yeah. There also the idea that some Shemyaza is Azazel. I think the fact that they're mentioned separately in first Enoch argues against that.
B
I think so too.
A
Because they were condemned for separate things. Shemiyaza for saying let's take these human women and create our army. And Azazel was singled out for teaching us forbidden knowledge like how to make weapons, sorcery and things like that. So little different thing there. But we welcome diversity of opinions and we're happy to tell Tim and Gary and Donna why we're right.
B
Here's the thing, we're all trying to figure it out because I think that's what a real scholar is all about. We're trying to dig in there and it's very rare that I will make a statement and say I know this to be true 100%. There are a few things that I will say about. One of those is that Jesus was 100% and is 100% human, is 100% deity, is 100% the Lord God Almighty creator, Yahweh himself. He is that and so many bags of chips that are just wonderful. And virgin birth, the fact that he was crucified, buried, rose again, sinless life, those and coming again. There are certain things that I will say, yes, I know this 100% but there are other things that are a little bit vague in the Bible, I think intentionally.
A
Yeah. And you know, I joke about, you know, saying, okay, well we'll explain to them why we're right and wrong and
B
they'll say the same thing about us.
A
Yeah, I will. Just to be clear, my opinion on these things, even though I make a very long case for it in the second coming of Saturn, is based on circumstantial evidence. There's nothing in the Bible that explicitly says these things. And while one Enoch is very interesting and helps to understand how the apostles would have understood the Old Testament, it's not in the Bible. And first Enoch shouldn't be in the Bible. We'll say that every time we do the first Enoch study because there are some inconsistencies and contradictions within that book. So we're not going to die in that theological hill. But as Sharon said, there are certain non negotiables which she just laid out. And those are the things that we will go to the mat for.
B
And we totally encourage everyone listening to this. Please read Tim Albarino's book, please read Gary Wayne's books, please read Donna's books. Please read. There are so many amazing authors out there, friends of ours who are. We're all trying to zero in on the target.
A
Yeah. And by triangulating, we'll get closer to it, but we won't absolutely get there until we get to, you know, peruse the heavenly archives. And Lord, we know you're listening. So please reserve jobs for us in the library.
B
So want to work in the library?
A
Yeah.
B
Or the museum, if there's a museum.
A
Well, the OG Report.
B

A
Exactly. So again, nothing behind the paywall there. God bless the. We now have quite a few folks who have chosen to donate. They make it easy to do through substack.

B
Thank you that my publication is called welcome to the Mind of a Writer. But it is Sharon K. Gilbert.substack.com and you call the one that we share together Giants, Gods and Dragons.
A
Giants, Gods and Dragons. Right. Trying to, you know, reach outside the choir.
B
Yep.
A
So there are quite a few folks out there who are looking for, you know, information on, you know, cryptids and the paranormal. If they happen to stumble across our stuff, then. Ha.
B
Yep. And there I think they're. Don't you put links to the. That stuff in the description of this video or this podcast.
A
Yeah. You'll find links to all of this when you go to the. The study notes for the. For the week.

B
Mike broke the Hubble.
A
Oh. If you get that reference, you're even. You're even stranger than we are.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay. Well, a few things coming up. We just a couple of weeks away and I mentioned you're doing better. Oh, forgot about that. Thank you.
B
From the OG Your memory is now slipping.
A
Yeah. Clearly into the future. The only update this week is that the. My neurologist once again put in an order for the intravenous immunoglobulin that he wants me to take, which is infusions of antibodies that would reset my immune system so my immune system stops attacking itself. It's like, why are you hitting yourself? Why are you hitting yourself? Why are you eating yourself? It's like, why are you chewing up my nerves and the muscles in my hands and feet? The insurance company did not approve it when he put in the order for it two months ago because they insisted on three months of high doses of corticosteroids, prednisone, which works about half the time in people if you start early enough in the diagnosis of cidp.
B
But it's not working in you?
A
It's not working in me. In fact, my symptoms have actually degraded. It's a slow, I'd say progression, but it's actually a regression. I'm starting to feel the numbness. My fingertips are about half numb at this point.
B
You're losing abilities in your hands, right?
A
Both because the nerves are shorting out, because they're losing the myelin coating around the nerves and because the muscles have been just. There's muscle wasting along with the nerve degradation.
B
We have found ways to deal with it. We've got a transport chair for you now, which I can lift in and out of the back of the car. We gave away our stoneware and we replaced everything with wheat straw based plates. They're really super light, it's almost like paper. But they're washable in the dishwasher, things like that to help ease the path. And you just got your walker, whom you, you named Chuck.
A
Yeah, Chuck, because it's a walker, like Texas Ranger, Chuck is pretty easy. So. Yeah, because I found over the last couple of weeks, recognize that my balance in the middle of the night when I have to get up is really not good, iffy. I mean, I can get around during the day with a cane just fine. But in the middle of the night I was really having to hang on to the wall, the side of the shower, the cabinet and the, you know, door frame basically to avoid falling over. So the walker makes it much safer for me in the middle of the night. And that is just, you know, the walker and the wheelchair, those are new, new additions to the. The household here. Sharon, or Sharon Nicole has said, our daughter, that we need to add racing flames to them.
B
So we're working especially to the transport chair.
A
Yeah, yeah. Since it is a nice bright red. It is, we're working on that. But the insurance company, my neurologist, given that we're six weeks into this 12 week protocol and my symptoms are degrading, put in another order for the IVIG and the insurance company once again said, nope, we're not doing that. So hopefully by mid to late July we will have completed the 12 weeks and shown the insurance company that things have not improved. They may require another.
B
You only have four more weeks to go by the way.
A
Oh, okay. All right. So by mid, mid July, and then they may require another nerve conduction test just to prove they will.
B
According to the rejection letter. They want that again.
A
All right, well, so I get to go get stabbed. And like a. Like in biology lab in high school, we're gonna stab the dead frog with and then run electricity through it. Just see what happens. Well, in my case, nothing happens, which is kind of the point. But then from there, hopefully they will allow or approve the. The ivig, which is expensive. So I can understand, I guess, from a financial standpoint why they're going this route. But you would hope that when the neurologist says, look, I've got a patient here, you've got him six weeks in on this. Normally improvement begins at three to four weeks. Six weeks in, things are getting worse.
B
That's not the reality.
A
That's not the reality.
B
Insurance world, Everyone we talk to who is in medicine, in healthcare in any way, they. They just really don't like insurance.
A
Do not say anything good about the insurance.
B
But now, moving away from the OG we just would love to meet you. So if you are able to meet us either in Ohio or in Springfield, Missouri. We're going to be in Ohio next month in Brookville for a conference that's just outside Dayton. Just outside Dayton. It's northwest of Dayton. You can fly in, rent a car, or if you live close enough, just drive over. Yeah, we would love to meet you. Please go to gothereforconference.com and register. You can also stream it if you want to.
A
Yeah, and the stream video will be excellent because the pastor there, Neil Peterson at the harvest revival center, is an old media tech geek.
B
So he's also crazy.
A
Yeah, yeah. Wonderful guy, Wonderful church.
B
Yeah.
A
And he will make sure that the streaming video. Excuse me, part of the autoimmune thing is this. The mucus that just collects in my lungs and on my vocal cords. It'll be high quality. So you can sign up for in person or streaming video@gothereforconference.com youm'll also see

And you want to meet him in person, you might consider going to that. But also, Kenny C. Will be speaking in Springfield, Missouri in August.
A
Yeah, that'll be August 7th through 9th at the Oasis hotel and conference center, which is on the north side of Springfield, close enough to the Springfield Branson National Airport that you can catch the hotel shuttle so you don't need to rent a car. But if you want to, there's plenty to do in the area. I know we talked about this, but I got to say, if you've not seen the wonders of Wildlife Aquarium and museum in person, you'll wonder how is this in a town the size of Springfield, Missouri?
B
I don't know. Springfield. Springfield is a relatively small city compared to 150,000 people. I know. It's a great little town. Boy, you could swim with sharks if you want.
A
Yes, yes. There is also the. There's a safari park just northeast of Springfield. And of course, Springfield is just 45 minutes north of Branson where there's plenty of family friendly and Christian friendly entertainment.
B
Yeah, there's so much to do around here. And if you've ever thought about moving, you can come here and visit and look around. Who knows, maybe you'll end up in the Ozarks one day. So please go to hear the watchmen.com yeah. Herethewatchmen.com and you can register there. The places that things are filling up very quickly at the hotel, by the way.
A
That's correct. If you want to stay at the hotel, there is a block of rooms that have been reserved that is special rate for the conference. But I think they're only down to about 40 left.
B
Yeah.
A
Out of, I think there was like 400 if I'm not mistaken.
B
Very few left. By the way, if you plan to stream it, which you can. Yeah, the, the deal for streaming, the discount ends tomorrow, right? Yeah, 15th.
A
Just $39 today and tomorrow and at midnight central time tomorrow night, that will go up to $59.
B
Yes.
A
So save 20 bucks. But you can also save $20 on in person registration.
B
Yes.
A
You can use promo code Gilbert20, Gilbert20 when you check out. And that'll get you $20 off each in person registration.
B
$20. That exactly. If you're bringing a group, that could save you a lot of money.
A
Yeah, 20 bucks. That's a meal.
B
Yeah, it's. It'll help get you into the museum. It'll buy you some donuts at Hertz Donut. It. It saved the money. Why spend more when you don't have to?
A
Yeah, yeah. So you'll find the information and registration@hearthewatchmen.com
B
and by the way, we have rescheduled our Israel tour. It is no longer scheduled for October of this year. It is now October 25th of 2027.
A
Yeah. That's the arrival date in Israel. October 25th through November 6th. And then there's an optional three day extension over to Jordan. The Israel tour is like no other few other. Anyway, prophecy watchers might come close, but we go some weird, weird places.
B
We're just odd.
A
Yep. Gilgal Rephaim. We will take you to the massive Shamir Dolmen. That's near the kibbutz Shamir in the northern end of that valley that we call the Valley of the Shadow of Death. And we will explain to you why we believe that valley is a literal place, not just figure of speech. So we'll take you to the gates of hell, the Valley of the Shadow of Death. Very, very pleasant, happy tour of Israel.
B
It is actually a very, very happy tour of Israel. It's a great time to go to late October. Take a light jacket. It's not quite into the big rainy season, but it's cooler there.
A
Yes. We've been there in May and in June and boy howdy, it gets warm. Yeah. Yeah. You want salt tablets?
B
Well, especially since we're also offering the extension into Jordan after the Israel tour. So if you go on that three day extension, Jordan's a little warmer, especially down.
A
Yes. Petra and Wadi Rum. That can be really, really hot. We've done that. And I nearly passed out at Petra.
B
You did.
A
Back in 2018. It was 18 or 19.
B
It was 19.
A
Because it was with Carl. Yeah, because Taylor was with us. Yeah, it was 2019.
B
Was it 2019?
A
2018 was when it was Mike. No, it was 20. It was 2019. Okay, I'm sure.
B
All right.
A
Because we've got our.
B
Something different than I do. But anyway, you will enjoy going there in late October.
A
Yes. Much, much more pleasant. And information and registration@gilberthouse.org travel and coming up in just a couple of weeks, talking about streaming to YouTube, we will be streaming the second Christian symposium on UFOs and alien alien Abductions from Roswell. We'll be doing that from our spare office over here now. I'm going to do it from the office.
B
Yeah, I think so.
A
Bruce Collins of the Bruce Collins show will be on the ground in Roswell. But we'll be connecting as well. So we can kind of expand the reaches. Guy Malone, Joe Jordan and Jackie Alnor will be answering questions about the UFO phenomenon, why it's different and separate from the alien abduction phenomenon and how we Christians can respond to questions about these phenomena. Which is especially timely with the Steven Spielberg movie just coming out. Yeah. So you can again subscribe to our YouTube channel. Hit the bell for notifications. And when we go live on that day, which will be 3pm Central Time on Thursday, July 2, you will get notifications and you can ask your questions in the chat or send those to us in advance@infoilberthouse.org that is right, by
B
the way, if 2019 is when Taylor was with us. I don't quite remember that, but you're right, it was 2019, because the really wonderful miracle of the Lord bringing along a driver with one of those little carts and a horse just in time, because I wasn't able to help you out. You were literally ready to fall.
A
Staggering. Yeah.
B
And. And that's in our second tour video, right?
A
Yep. Yeah, it. It can get really warm there even in May.
B
Yeah, it was about 115 degrees.
A
Yeah, it was so hot that we were. Yeah, we recorded those tour videos, which will also be uploaded to our YouTube channel, so you can watch those for free. This week, the iPhones and iPads were overheating, and it wasn't like they were in the sun that long. It's just. It was that hot outside.
B
It was very warm. And so I remember that dawn, who was Dawn Birch, very tall, like almost six feet tall. And she had an umbrella. And so she was holding the umbrella
A
over the iPad, trying to keep things from overheating. It was. And that was a challenge. It was really, really hot.
B
It was. But we got through it. It was so much fun. So please consider going to Israel with us. You will. You'll want to go back at the end of it. Everybody says, no, I don't want it to end. I want to come back.
A
Yeah, it was.
B
You form a family.
A
You do. And seeing the places where the events you've been reading about in the Bible your whole life took place makes it more real. And, yeah, especially getting up on the Temple Mount, realizing this is where Jesus cast the money changers out of the temple. This is where he conducted his healings. This is where Armageddon will end. This is. Is what the prize will be in Armageddon.
B
It's incredible.
A
Yeah, it is incredible. So we encourage you to take advantage of it. And so we're hoping that by next fall, things will have calmed down in the Middle east and perhaps the economy will have improved a bit.
B
So shall we pray?
A
Yes, Father, thank you for bringing us together over your word. Lord, we pray for your blessing and for wisdom and understanding. And again, Lord, we pray for peace, peace, the peace of Jerusalem, the protection of the people there. We pray for the people of Iran, the Persian people, who long to reclaim their Land from the foreign theocracy that has imposed itself on that nation since 1979. But we know that around the world, Lord, there will be no peace, no true peace until you return. So we pray for that day soon, Lord, but until that day, we pray for the courage and the words to speak, to share the hope that we have in you with gentleness and respect. Lord, we pray for your blessing on the children who will be arriving at Whispering Ponies Ranch for camp this week. We pray, Father, for your protection over that facility, over those children, over the counselors, and over the Horne family, Lord, many of whom are volunteering their time this week to make sure that everything must be done. Joe Horn, the CEO of Skywatch tv, the host of the program, spending every day running the zip lines, sweeping out the pool, working harder than anyone looking in from outside would ever know. Lord, we ask for your blessing on him and on his family for the time that he devotes to this mission, his time away from his wife and his children. So, Lord, we just ask for your blessing on that family and on the ministry. And we thank you, Lord, for calling us to this mission. All of us, Lord, have been called to this mission. And we pray for your spirit to grant us the wisdom to see the path that you would have us walk. Not all of us are called to do the same thing, but each of us has a role. We pray that you make it clear. You help us to find our purpose and ask us and find. Just lead us, Lord. Help us, Lord, to have the courage to take those steps, knowing that only the next step is illuminated, not the entire road before us. We pray, Father, for your blessing. And we ask it in Jesus name. Amen.
B
Amen.
A
Until next time. I'm Derek Gilbert.
B
I'm Sharon Gilbert. And we love each and every one of you, just as Jesus loves each and every one of you. Bye bye, everybody.

Date: June 14, 2026
Hosts: Derek & Sharon Gilbert
This episode marks a return to verse-by-verse Bible study after a brief hiatus prompted by urgent ministry matters. Derek and Sharon Gilbert dive into Isaiah 11-12 and begin the Book of Micah, exploring their prophetic context, end-times implications, and spiritual warfare themes. The episode is framed by updates on Whispering Ponies Ranch, current events involving at-risk children, and a deep Q&A about Satan, Shemyaza, and the “seed of the serpent.” The Gilberts interweave scripture, history, and personal experience, emphasizing hope and Christian action amid troubling times.
(00:14–13:36)
“A miracle did really take place this week that funding has been secured… the camping season for this year has been, I would say, saved.” – Derek (13:26)
(18:57–39:43)
“Can you imagine being the one who gets this message back in the day? ...And you’re saying, in this person who’s going to be coming and ruling over the Gentiles—and the Gentiles are going to trust him. What do the Gentiles have to do with us?” – Sharon (21:19)
“Behold, God is my salvation. In other words, God is my Yeshua. That’s the word in Hebrew there.” – Derek (35:44)
“Yeshua, reigning from Jerusalem.” – Sharon (39:03)
(39:43–58:30)
“Instead of jackals and mourning like the daughters of sirens—these are spirit entities that are being referred to.” – Sharon (51:03)
(60:23–78:32)
“In a way, Satan was not the direct procreator, but he was the one who sowed the idea of that new seed… this is the seed of the serpent.” – Sharon (66:49)
“My opinion on these things… is based on circumstantial evidence. There’s nothing in the Bible that explicitly says these things.” – Derek (77:41)
(79:13–87:07)
(87:07–96:56)
On mission in dark times:
“This was not the way you intended for this world to be. So, Father, we pray for your spirit to work, to move, to stir up a righteous anger in those of us who have any kind of means to support the work of rescuing and healing children.” – Derek (15:35)
On division and prophecy:
“The jealousy of Ephraim shall depart, and those who harass Judah shall be cut off… Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not harass Ephraim.” – Isaiah 11, discussed at (26:15)
On biblical interpretation:
“A lot of what we think we know about Satan and Lucifer is not really in the Bible. It’s tradition that’s been handed down to us.” – Derek (67:13)
On humility in scholarship:
“It’s very rare that I will make a statement and say I know this to be true 100%. There are a few things… Other things are intentionally a little bit vague.” – Sharon (77:33)
On the value of pilgrimage:
“Seeing the places where the events you’ve been reading about in the Bible your whole life took place makes it more real.” – Derek (96:18)
