Truth is stranger than fiction, and this is the proof. This is Ripley's Believe it or Not. The Curtis family of London maintained an unbroken line of doctors in the family for 224 years, until September 25th, 1927, when the last of this long line, Dr. William Curtis, died. Believe it or not. In a moment, I'll tell you about some girls who sure have a lot of lip. Beauty, of course, is a matter of personal opinion, but surely nowhere in the world do people have stranger opinions than the Saurus gingis of Africa. The large lips of their girls are the result of one of the most astonishing customs. Their lips are pierced with wooden discs of increasing size to stretch the lower lips. After some time, the overgrowth of lip becomes so enormous that the lower lip is distended large enough that a 14 inch soup plate can be worn. Believe it or not.
