No purchase necessary VGW Group void where prohibited by law. 21/ terms and conditions apply. Wild Bill Hickam. Hiya, folks. Hold on to your hats and pass those Kellogg's Corn Pops. Cause here comes Guy Madison as Wild Bill and his pal Jingles. Which is me, Andy Devine. We got another Rootin tootin Wild Bill Hickok adventure story for you from that great new cereal with the sweetening already on it. Kellogg's Corn Pops.
Narrator
Kellogg's Corn Pops brings you Wild Bill Hickok, starring Guy Madison as Wild Bill and Andy Devine as his pal Jingles. And now to the western town of Hangtree. It is late at night with only the sound of laughter from the Golden Dollar Saloon, tinny music from the ancient player piano. If the citizens could know what's happening at the local jail right now, they'd be singing a different tune. At the barred window, a large but quietly moving figure steals up, slips a rope around the bars and ties it fast. Then he runs silently to his horse, ties the other end of the rope to the saddle horn.
Andy Devine
Yah. Yah. Yank.
Narrator
The bars in the jail give way and the prisoner leaps through the open window. He's on his waiting horse and riding off with his rescuer as the excited patrons pour out of the saloon in confusion.
Andy Devine
Gee whiz, Bill, I'm getting tired.
Guy Madison
We'll pull up here, Jingles.
Andy Devine
Good.
Guy Madison
Across the river to cover our trail.
Andy Devine
Across the river? Right on the hard ground. Don't tear your clothes on the brush. We wouldn't have to do all this if Wild Bill Hickok hadn't gone and got himself arrested.
Frank Perry
Whew.
Andy Devine
Bill, what'd you do it for?
Guy Madison
People say things in front of an outlaw they won't around a U.S. marshal. Jingle.
Andy Devine
But I was.
Guy Madison
Hold it.
Andy Devine
Huh? Now what?
Guy Madison
Quiet. Off your horse, Jingles.
Andy Devine
Head cover. Oh, me? Trouble, trouble, trouble. I should have stayed a stagecoach driver.
Guy Madison
Go get him, Jingles. He's your size.
Andy Devine
I'll get him.
Guy Madison
All right, Jingles, you've got him.
Andy Devine
Holy gee. What occurs hey, it's just a boy. A little rascal of a squealing boy. Looks like a drowned mouse.
Tad Lawson
I'm not squealing. And you look just as drowned, fatso.
Andy Devine
Hey, now, no smarty stuff. Now, mousie, I'll throw.
Guy Madison
Hold it, Jingles. What's your name, son?
Tad Lawson
Chad. Chad Lawson.
Guy Madison
And where do you hail from?
Tad Lawson
Hang Tree. My father's a sheriff there.
Andy Devine
Oh, me. Shall I throw him back in the river? Bill.
Tad Lawson
Bill. Hey, I knew I was right. He called you Bill.
Guy Madison
He talks too much.
Andy Devine
Oh, no, no, no. You see, I. I made a mistake. Mousey, this is the Missouri Kid.
Tad Lawson
Oh, no, he's not the Missouri Kid. I knew it when the deputy arrested you. That's why I rode out after you. Gosh, Wild Bill Hickok. My dad sure talked about you. He saw you in Abilene once.
Guy Madison
Where's your dad?
Tad Lawson
He's out combing the hills for the real Missouri Kid. Over near Big Rock. He never would have let him arrest you if he'd been in town.
Guy Madison
Ted, are you sure you weren't followed?
Tad Lawson
No, I don't think I was, Bill. But we could move on. Hey, I'll show you a good hideout. The old Skeleton Mine.
Andy Devine
I hate hitting leather again. I'm tired.
Guy Madison
Show us away, Ted.
Tad Lawson
Okay, but like I was telling you, that deputy that arrested you. Well, I never did like him. I don't think my dad trusts him either.
Guy Madison
Who does your dad trust?
Tad Lawson
Well, I reckon the only real honest man in town is Mr. Perry. Frank Perry? He runs the newspaper.
Guy Madison
Go on.
Tad Lawson
Well, naturally there's others. But not that deputy. He's always hanging around with. Marty Slade, that owns a saloon. My dad's had a lot of trouble with them boys.
Andy Devine
Well, maybe you ought to have a talk with this man Perry, Bill.
Guy Madison
Yeah, I guess so. Jingles. Tad, you show us where the old skeleton Mine is, will you?
Tad Lawson
Oh, sure.
Guy Madison
Then I'll ride into town and see Perry.
Andy Devine
Well, what about me?
Guy Madison
You stay at the Skeleton Mine.
Andy Devine
Skeleton Mine? Well, I'll. Who, me.
Guy Madison
Mr. Perry, eh?
Frank Perry
Oh, that's right.
Guy Madison
Pleased to know you.
Frank Perry
Who are you?
Guy Madison
The deputy that arrested me. Figured I was the Missouri Kid.
Frank Perry
You? You're the man that broke jail.
Guy Madison
But I'm not the Missouri Kid, Mr. Perry.
Frank Perry
Well, of course you wouldn't admit it.
Guy Madison
Her name is Hickok, Mr. Perry. Bill Hickok.
Panhandle Jim
Hickok?
Frank Perry
Wild Bill?
Guy Madison
I've been called that.
Frank Perry
Wild Bill Hickok, the United States Marshal?
Guy Madison
Right again, Mr. Perry. I've been told I can trust you.
Andy Devine
Why?
Frank Perry
Why? Why, of course Bill, I. I'm always on the side of the law. What do you want from me?
Guy Madison
Think you can find out why somebody tried to pass me off as an outlaw, get me hung?
Frank Perry
I. I could try. Start asking questions around town if I get some information. Bill, where can I find you?
Guy Madison
I'm holed up with my partner in an old mine outside of town.
Frank Perry
Not the old skeleton mine?
Guy Madison
That's the one. Tad Lawson led us to it. You can find me there.
Frank Perry
Ted Lawson, huh? Well, fine, fine, Bill. Glad you told me. And I'm sure I'll be able to bring you something soon. Can you see him down there by the mine? Slade? What's keeping that fool deputy?
Marty Slade
Oh, take it easy, boss. Takes time to plant dynamite. Besides, it has to go off just right to blast the mine entrance. Close it off.
Frank Perry
He'll make sure they're in there. You warned him about this Bill Hickok?
Marty Slade
He's heard of him. But when we're through, nobody else will ever hear of him or his partner either.
Frank Perry
I wish he'd hurry. We far enough away here?
Andy Devine
Sure.
Marty Slade
Relax, Perry. Nobody's ever gonna find the real Missouri Kid. These two marshals will disappear just like the last one.
Frank Perry
We killed one already. Let's get rid of these two.
Marty Slade
Don't be so nervous.
Frank Perry
Hell, I'll see you better when I hear that explosion.
Marty Slade
You'll hear it.
Frank Perry
What's the devil's keeping him? You should have gone yourself, Slade.
Marty Slade
What were you saying, boys?
Frank Perry
Yeah, well, that's more like it. Hey, you're all right, Slade. All right. So long, Mr. Wild Bill Hickok. You can add two more to the old skeleton mine.
Panhandle Jim
Say, this mystery of Wild Bill's got old Panhandle Jim on the edge of his chair. I'm feeding my face with Kellogg's Corn Pops fast as I can grab them. Yeah, sure is a good thing these Corn Pops are a two way cereal. That's right. You can eat Kellogg's Corn Pops two ways. One way is right out of the box. Like I'm eating them now. Yes, sir, they're a real tasty snack with the sweetening already on them. Now, the other way to eat Corn Pops is out of a bowl with milk. But remember what I said about the sweetening. Don't go dumping a lot of sugar on Kellogg's Corn Pops. They're already sweetened for you tasty puffed up hearts of corn all ready to go. They're not only good, but mighty good for you. Why, partner, they're a real two gun, two way cereal with B vitamins. Vitamin D. And with important minerals and food energy, too. That's important to all you youngins who want to grow up big and strong and you can eat all you want. So if you aren't already settled back enjoying Kellogg's Corn Pops right now, you better sashay down the store tomorrow and get a load of them. You'll need plenty. Because the whole family's gonna be gobbling your Kellogg's Corn Pops all up. Now, listen to this little saying. Kids love Pops. Moms love Pops. Pops love Pops. Well, sir, I'm busting to get back to the show. How about you? Let's go.
Narrator
Now back to the adventures of Wild Bill Hickok, the deputy who blew up the mine for Slade. And Perry rides away from the scene, unaware that high on the ridge, two figures have been watching his every move.
Andy Devine
Bill, that ornery, potent cat tried to blow us to kingdom come. I seen him with my own eyes. I seen him plant that dynamite in the opening of the mine.
Guy Madison
That's right, you did. But there was someone else around we didn't see.
Andy Devine
What, you mean?
Guy Madison
You heard that horse when he across the canyon, didn't you?
Andy Devine
Say, that's right. And it wasn't the deputy's horse either. Hey, you think somebody else was up there watching?
Guy Madison
And maybe that somebody told the deputy what to do?
Andy Devine
Hey, Bill. Bill, I just thought of something. How'd that deputy know we was staying in the mine? Only Tad and Frank Perry knew about it.
Guy Madison
That's right.
Andy Devine
You don't think that boy told anybody, do you?
Guy Madison
Without meaning to, maybe.
Andy Devine
Oh, now, I don't reckon he'd tell anyone except that maybe his pa. And we know the sheriff's over at Big Rock, do we? Huh?
Guy Madison
Maybe he's back.
Andy Devine
Oh, now, Bill, you ain't seen.
Guy Madison
Let's go get the horses. Come on.
Andy Devine
All right. Come on. Now, here, listen, Bill.
Guy Madison
Saddle up, Jingles. We'll ride over to the other side of the canyon and see what we can find.
Andy Devine
Oh. Any signs of them, Bill?
Guy Madison
Over here. According to the tracks, looks like the party split up.
Andy Devine
Sure does. One of the writers headed back to town.
Guy Madison
Deputy, probably. He must be real anxious to tell the citizens in Hangtree that the Missouri Kid got killed in a mine cave in.
Andy Devine
Hey, look, Bill. Look over here. The other riders must have headed up the road into the hills.
Guy Madison
Sheriff Lawson lives over that way, doesn't he?
Andy Devine
He sure does.
Guy Madison
Let's go, hi H.
Andy Devine
Well, there's the sheriff's place down there in the hollow, Bill. But I. I don't see Anybody around?
Guy Madison
Didn't expect anyone.
Andy Devine
Well, I reckon you was right, Bill. Them riders must have turned off where we lost the trail back then. Hey. Hey, look. There's somebody coming out on the porch.
Guy Madison
Sheriff's wife, maybe.
Andy Devine
Sure hope she's got breakfast going. I got me an appetite something fierce.
Guy Madison
Morning, ma'am.
Tad Lawson
Morning. Heard you coming down the road. Figured it was the sheriff.
Guy Madison
He's not back from Big Rock yet?
Tad Lawson
No, but I'm expecting him back soon. Won't you come in? Coffee's on.
Andy Devine
Well, thank you, ma'am. That's real nice of you.
Tad Lawson
Say, hadn't I seen you somewhere before?
Guy Madison
Me, ma'am?
Tad Lawson
Well, yes.
Andy Devine
Yes.
Tad Lawson
Your face looks right familiar.
Guy Madison
Could be maybe an Abilene. That's where your boy said.
Tad Lawson
Bill Hickok. Wild Bill Hickok. Of course. Tad was telling me about what happened last night and, well, I reckon he shouldn't have told me, not after he promised.
Guy Madison
That's all right, ma'am.
Tad Lawson
Well, I really can't blame the boy. He was all fired. Excited about meeting you and all. Wow. Bill.
Guy Madison
Morning, Ted.
Tad Lawson
And Jingles.
Andy Devine
Howdy, son. Say, ain't you all dressed up?
Tad Lawson
My, my, real pretty ma and me's fixing to go to church picnic after a while. Gosh, what are you doing here? I thought.
Andy Devine
Oh, now, there was an accident at the mine, Tad. Some dirty varmint. Excuse me, ma'am. Some dirty skunk tried to blow us up. What?
Guy Madison
That's right, Mrs. Lawson. Say, Tad, you didn't tell anybody besides your mother about us being up there at the mine, did you?
Tad Lawson
Oh, no, no, honest, Wild Bill, I didn't tell anybody.
Andy Devine
Oh, well, now, come on, let's get inside. I sure could use a cup of coffee.
Guy Madison
Hold it, Jingles.
Andy Devine
Just one cup and, well, maybe some bacon.
Guy Madison
Look over there.
Tad Lawson
Yeah. Fire. Hey, look, Ma, Smoke's coming out of the canyon. Come on, let's go see.
Guy Madison
No, Ted, you better stay here with your mom. Jingles and I'll ride over and have a look.
Andy Devine
Oh, all right. And, ma'am.
Tad Lawson
Yes?
Andy Devine
Keep that coffee arm. Hey, look there, Bill. He ain't much of a fire at all, but sure, a lot of smoke.
Guy Madison
I got a hunch that fire just didn't start by itself.
Andy Devine
What you mean?
Guy Madison
Get back, Jingles. Here, behind these boulders.
Andy Devine
Hey, what in tarnation's going on around here?
Guy Madison
That fire was set to get Tad up here. I reckon they were surprised to see us.
Andy Devine
Hey, look, Bill. There they go. Come on, we'll head them off.
Guy Madison
After seeing us, they'll probably be on their Way to the sheriff's house. It's Tad they want. Come on.
Andy Devine
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. There they are, Bill. Just pulling up to the house. I'll take the one on the pinhole.
Guy Madison
Careful, Jingles. You don't want to hit Mrs. Lawson or Ted.
Andy Devine
They're breaking for the trees.
Guy Madison
Let's get inside the house. Mrs. Lawson. You all right?
Tad Lawson
Yes, yes, I'm all right.
Guy Madison
Bill, where's Tad?
Tad Lawson
He's right here.
Guy Madison
Down, down, all of you. Jingles, take that side of the house.
Andy Devine
I'll take it.
Tad Lawson
Who are those young men? Who are they? Wild Bill.
Guy Madison
Well, I'm right sure. One of them is Frank Perry, ma'am.
Tad Lawson
Perry? But I don't understand.
Guy Madison
He and slade want us, Mrs. Lawson. And they want Tad.
Tad Lawson
Ted.
Andy Devine
But why?
Guy Madison
Because Tad knows that I was up in the mine, not the Missouri Kid.
Andy Devine
Watch your Bill. One of them sneaking around the barn.
Guy Madison
I see him.
Andy Devine
Doggone it.
Guy Madison
What's the matter?
Andy Devine
Oh, look at what one of them skunks did, Bill. Shot a whole pump through the coffee pot.
Guy Madison
Hold it, Jingles.
Andy Devine
Hey, they're getting away, Bill.
Guy Madison
We'll get them. But first we got to see to it that Nothing happens to Mrs. Lawson and Tad.
Tad Lawson
Oh, we'll be all right. I got Dad's rifle. I can take care of things.
Guy Madison
Sorry, son, but I don't think you and your mother ought to stay here.
Andy Devine
If there's someone you could stay with for a spell, man.
Tad Lawson
Well, yes, there's the Crowleys. Their place is just at the edge of town.
Guy Madison
Plenty of men folk around?
Tad Lawson
Oh, plenty.
Guy Madison
All right, let's ride, then.
Tad Lawson
Oh, I hate to put you to all this trouble, Wild Bill.
Guy Madison
No trouble at all, ma'am. Jingles and I have business in town.

No purchase necessary. VGW Group void. We're prohibited by law 21 + terms and conditions apply. Bill, this is plum loco. You walking right into town this way in broad daylight. Too many folks still think you're the Missouri Kid.
Guy Madison
Sure they do. But the Missouri Kid is supposed to be dead.
Andy Devine
Well, there ain't nothing to stop him from Shooting at his ghost.
Guy Madison
Well, in that case, you cover the other side of the street and keep a sharp eye on the windows.
Andy Devine
You ain't told me yet where we're going.
Guy Madison
To the saloon. That's where we might find the deputy.
Andy Devine
Good. That's one hombre I'm hankering to have a few words with.
Guy Madison
Now, you let me handle him.
Andy Devine
Oh, just let me bang his head against the wall a few times, Bill. Just a few teensy weensy times. That's all I have.
Guy Madison
Oh, all right. Let's go. In.
Andy Devine
The Missouri kick. I thought he was dead.
Marty Slade
Howdy, strangers. What'd it be?
Guy Madison
Seen the deputy sheriff around, bartender?
Marty Slade
Why, no. No, I, I.
Panhandle Jim
Hello there. Couldn't talk for a spell. I was eating Corn Pops. You know, it's bad manners to talk with your mouth full. Especially when you got nothing to say. I got something to say, though. Something big. It's about Kellogg's Corn Pops, that wonderful eating cereal that's already sweetened for you. Now, listen close here. Corn Pops are hearts of corn, all puffed up big and crisp, with plenty of tasty sweetening on them. Now, you can eat Kellogg's Corn Pops the way I eat them when I listen to Wild Bill the Hickok. Right out of the box, by the handful. But come breakfast time, pour them out in a bowl and add a little milk. But don't go putting any sugar on Kellogg's corn pots. No, sir. Because like I just said, Corn Pops already got the sweetening right on them. Every single Corn Pop. Now, if you're eating them right now, look at the bag inside the box. Well, that bag is pure aluminum. Keeps Kellogg's Corn Pops fresh up to 10 times longer. And your mom will want to know this. That bag's wonderful for storing things in the refrigerator for wrapping sandwiches in. Now, don't go fussing with one box of Kellogg's Corn Pops. Get your mom to load up big and keep them on the pantry shelf. Then out of the box or out of the bowl, you can have all the Kellogg's Corn Pops you want. Now, let's tell everybody who loves Corn Pops. Kids love Pops. Moms love Pops. Pops love Pops. Now you're talking.
Narrator
Now back to Wild Bill Hickok, who ran straight into gunfire when he started looking for the deputy in the saloon.
Guy Madison
You must have a bad memory, bartender. Or bad eyesight.
Tad Lawson
Yeah.
Andy Devine
That deputy was standing right behind the piano.
Guy Madison
Get him on his feet, Jingles. He's not hurt.
Andy Devine
It'll be a pleasure, Bill. A pleasure.
Marty Slade
Gee, stranger, you ain't I mean, you.
Guy Madison
Couldn'T be the Missouri Kid. What do you think?
Marty Slade
I know you ain't. Not with a draw as fast as that one. The Missouri Kid, I hear tell, ain't much of a gunfighter. He gets others to do his killings for him.
Guy Madison
So I heard too.
Marty Slade
There's only one man I ever hear to have had a draw as fast as yours, stranger and that's Wild Bill Hickok.
Andy Devine
And that's just who he is. Bartender, Wild Bill is sell. Come on, deputy. Come on, now. Leave me alone. Well, what'll we do with this critter, Bill?
Guy Madison
Ask him a few questions first, and.
Andy Devine
I'll bet he answers too. Won't you, Deputy? Won't you?
Frank Perry
Where's Frank Barry?
Guy Madison
Where's Frank Barry, Perry?
Marty Slade
I don't know.
Guy Madison
He doesn't know, Jingles.
Andy Devine
Oh, sure he does. Sure he does.
Panhandle Jim
Wait, wait, wait.
Guy Madison
Where is he?
Andy Devine
Maybe up at the cabin, Lone river way.
Frank Perry
I don't know.
Guy Madison
All right, Jingles, that's enough.
Andy Devine
Oh, Bill, just one more time around, please.
Guy Madison
No. Oh, we'll take him down to the jail, then. We're riding after Slade and Perry. And I've got a hunch we'll find the Missouri Kid too.
Andy Devine
Now, them hombres sure made it easy for us to trail them. Bill. Look at them tracks here along the river. Can see them a mile away.
Guy Madison
Yeah, maybe they made it a little too easy for us. Maybe they're expecting us.
Andy Devine
You reckon so?
Guy Madison
Pull up a minute. Listen.
Andy Devine
Don't hear a thing except the river.
Guy Madison
Sure you do.
Andy Devine
Hey. Hey, you're right. Horses somewhere in back of us.
Guy Madison
Not far behind, either.
Andy Devine
Them varmints double back on us.
Guy Madison
Let's give them a surprise. Jingles, get behind those rocks.
Andy Devine
Must be Perry and Slade.
Guy Madison
Yeah, that's right. Here's where we meet the Missouri Kid.
Andy Devine
You're sure one of them is the Missouri Kid?
Guy Madison
That's right. And I want to hear him say so.
Andy Devine
Oh, don't worry. I'll make him talk.
Guy Madison
Quiet. Here they come. All right, boys.
Andy Devine
Reach, Hickok. Hit him.
Guy Madison
I said reach.
Andy Devine
Slay.
Guy Madison
But not for your gun. Now, both of you, get off those horses. Drop your gun.
Marty Slade
Look, Hickok, let me take care of my hand. It's bleeding bad.
Guy Madison
See what you can do for sleigh, Jingles.
Frank Perry
You can't get away with this. Hickok. I'm a respectable citizen.
Guy Madison
Save your breath, Barry. I know you're the Missouri Kid.
Marty Slade
That fool deputy must have talked, boy.
Frank Perry
Shut up, you fool.
Andy Devine
Look out for him, Bill.
Guy Madison
Come back, Barry.
Andy Devine
Shoot him.
Guy Madison
Bill, he hasn't got a gun. Jingle. I'm going in after him. Give up, Barry.
Frank Perry
Get away from me.
Guy Madison
That's as far as you go.
Frank Perry
Let it go.
Andy Devine
Let go.
Guy Madison
Who killed the marshal?
Frank Perry
I don't know.
Guy Madison
Okay, underwater with you. Who killed him?
Frank Perry
The deputy.
Andy Devine
Who's the deputy?
Guy Madison
On your orders.
Andy Devine
No, I had nothing to do with it.
Guy Madison
You had him killed because he was pretty sure you were the Missouri Kid.
Frank Perry
Yeah, sure, sure.
Andy Devine
Now let me go. Let me go.
Guy Madison
All right, Perry, let's go back to shore. I got some more questions.
Frank Perry
I know, I know. I'm finished. I told the deputy to grab the first stranger coming into town. Let it get around. He was a Missouri Kid. I didn't know it'd be you.
Guy Madison
Then there'd be a lynching. The Missouri Kid would be dead. The law would stop looking for you.
Frank Perry
Yeah. Yeah, I'm the Missouri Kid.
Guy Madison
I thought so.
Andy Devine
Jumping catfish. Bill. I thought you was both gonna drown.
Guy Madison
So did Perry.
Andy Devine
Hey, did he say he was a Missouri Kid?
Guy Madison
Yeah, after I held him underwater.
Andy Devine
Hey, you know something, Bill?
Guy Madison
What's that, Jingles?
Andy Devine
Well, we started out hunting. And then you went swimming and, well, you wound up fishing.
Guy Madison
That's right. And here's what we caught. A big fish who thought the law wouldn't catch up with him.
Narrator
And now here are the stars of Wild Bill Hickok, Guy Madison and Andy Devine.
Guy Madison
Andy and I sure hope you enjoyed our adventure today and that you'll be with Wild Bill and Jingles again next week.
Andy Devine
Yeah. And I guarantee you I won't take care of more than 30 or 40 bad men.
Guy Madison
If I know you, Andy, you'll have enough trouble just taking care of yourself. Meanwhile, Andy and I hope you'll be eating Kellogg's Corn Pops like we do.
Andy Devine
That's right. It's the great new cereal with the sweetening already on it.
Guy Madison
We think Kellogg's Corn Pops are great. So long.
Andy Devine
See you next week.
Narrator
Yes, sir. Be sure to listen. Next week, this same time, same station. When Kellogg's Corn Pops again bring you Wild Bill Hickok starring Guy Madison and Andy Devine in person. Summary of "Wild Bill Hickock ep002 The Missouri Kid" – Harold's Old Time Radio
Podcast Information
Introduction "Wild Bill Hickock ep002 The Missouri Kid" transports listeners back to the thrilling days of the American Wild West, where legendary figures and cunning outlaws roamed the frontier. Hosted by Harold's Old Time Radio, this episode spotlights the adventures of Wild Bill Hickok, portrayed by Guy Madison, and his trusty sidekick Jingles, voiced by Andy Devine. Set against the backdrop of the tumultuous town of Hangtree, the episode weaves a tale of mistaken identity, betrayal, and redemption.
The Arrest and Escape ([02:24]–[03:06]) The episode opens with Wild Bill Hickok and his jovial companion Jingles amidst another of their escapades in Hangtree. As the townsfolk revel in the night at the Golden Dollar Saloon, Wild Bill is unexpectedly arrested under the mistaken belief that he is the notorious outlaw, the Missouri Kid.
Determined to clear his name, Wild Bill and Jingles orchestrate a daring escape from the local jail. Using a cleverly tied rope, they slip out unnoticed, leaving the confused patrons of the saloon behind.
Introducing Tad Lawson ([03:11]–[05:02]) As Wild Bill and Jingles flee, they encounter Tad Lawson, the young son of Sheriff Lawson. Tad reveals his father's distrust of Deputy Frank Perry, the man responsible for Bill's wrongful arrest.
Recognizing an opportunity, Wild Bill enlists Tad's help to navigate the treacherous terrain and gather information about the true identity of the Missouri Kid. The trio heads towards the old Skeleton Mine, a strategic hideout that promises safety from their adversaries.
Unveiling the Conspiracy ([05:20]–[07:19]) At the Skeleton Mine, the plot thickens as Deputy Frank Perry and Marty Slade, the saloon owner, conspire to eliminate Wild Bill and Tad. Their plan involves planting dynamite to seal the mine entrance, ensuring that Wild Bill is silenced forever.
However, as they proceed with their nefarious scheme, two mysterious figures observe their every move, hinting at deeper layers of betrayal within Hangtree.
A Web of Deceit ([09:36]–[13:21]) Wild Bill and Jingles discover that Deputy Frank Perry is not only deceitful but is also actively hunting them down. Tad Lawson's mother, Mrs. Lawson, becomes an unwitting accomplice, leading to a heightened sense of urgency.
The tension escalates when Wild Bill realizes that someone close to Tad may have inadvertently tipped off Perry, complicating the pursuit.
The Climactic Confrontation ([21:03]–[23:19]) The episode reaches its peak as Wild Bill and Jingles track down Perry and Slade.
