Taylor Johnson
The topic switches to freemasonry and I could see this figure walking ahead of me on the sidewalk. I'm out.
Ben Garrett
And then you see this black hole teeth thing.
Taylor Johnson
And so I call him back and I'm like, hey, did you hear that? And my dad goes the demonic screaming. Yeah, I heard that, dude. And
Brian Save
foreign.
Ben Garrett
Hey, everybody. Welcome to this episode of the Graveyard Shift. My name is Ben Garrett, your host and I'm joined by my co host and good friend Brian Save.
Brian Save
I am. What I wanted to say something dramatic like, behold Destroyer Worlds. Did it not come off? No, dang it.
Ben Garrett
No, it really didn't.
Brian Save
So it made. So I didn't look really cool?
Ben Garrett
No. I mean, I guess Evan. I guess Evan's the judge of that.
Brian Save
Okay. Hey, listen, listeners like this video if you think I sounded really cool, comment if you also think I sounded really
Ben Garrett
cool, like, and subscribe if. If you don't think he sounded cool or if you do, any action you
Brian Save
take that's positive will take as I was cool. And any action that you take as negative will also be like, that is cool.
Ben Garrett
Okay. We're also joined by a special guest today. His name is Taylor Johnson. Taylor, say hello to the people.
Taylor Johnson
How you doing, everybody?
Ben Garrett
Yeah, see now that was cool. Hey, it was a bit of that Texas, like low key cool.
Brian Save
I'm right here.
Ben Garrett
I'm just saying you can take notes.
Brian Save
Ah, that's true. I need to be a little bit more like Taylor.
Ben Garrett
Yeah, yeah, I think we all do.
Brian Save
Okay, don't try so hard.
Ben Garrett
Now, everyone knows the rules. The graveyard shift is ideal if Brian has never heard the story and if I have forgotten the story, which in this case I have. So we are good to go. But before we hop into the story, we have an icebreaker question for Taylor so that we and the people can really get to know you.
Brian Save
Yeah. Need to know about you is going to be determined by this question.
Ben Garrett
And that that question is this. Now, I'm not going to say what city he lives in, but he does live in the state of Texas. And so the question is, what is your favorite American state. But you can't say Texas.
Taylor Johnson
I'm going to say I lived in Idaho. Loved Idaho.
Ben Garrett
Yeah, that's a really good answer.
Brian Save
Idaho is such an S tier state.
Ben Garrett
It really is.
Brian Save
It's amazing. It's got everything.
Ben Garrett
You got the Palouse, you got the sawtooth, you got. You got everything. There it is.
Brian Save
It's a beautiful climate.
Ben Garrett
Wood, Coeur d' Alene. Land o lakes. But like northern version.
Taylor Johnson
The northern part too.
Ben Garrett
Oh yeah.
Taylor Johnson
Boise. But yeah.
Ben Garrett
Heck yeah.
Taylor Johnson
Border Washington.
Brian Save
Oh, beautiful up there. So like so much rain and glory.
Ben Garrett
Like blood memories.
Brian Save
Utah, sad and dry.
Taylor Johnson
I've been to every state but Hawaii and Alaska, so I feel like I'm qualified to.
Brian Save
Yeah.
Ben Garrett
Wow, man. That was the. Providentially the perfect question.
Brian Save
That was. You tapped into it. Those are the skills right there.
Ben Garrett
Hey, glory be to God.
Brian Save
Yeah, Glory.
Ben Garrett
Okay, well, hey, let's hop right in.
Brian Save
Yeah.
Ben Garrett
We have a fascinating story here from Taylor. So Taylor, we're gonna let you take it away and Brian and I will try to interrupt minimally.
Brian Save
Ben, have you heard of the Jake Muller Adventures?
Ben Garrett
Ooh, what's that?
Brian Save
A Christian audio drama. Zombies, vampires, global conspiracies and faith at the center of. I was up all night on the edge of my seat.
Ben Garrett
Is it fully immersive sound effects and cast and everything?
Brian Save
Yes, full cast cinematic sound. It's like you can hear the danger coming.
Ben Garrett
Ooh, so kind of similar to Hana Cosmos but no your mom jokes and more drama.
Brian Save
No mom jokes yet, but yeah, tons of drama.
Ben Garrett
So it's kind of like your mom then.
Brian Save
Not quite. Check it out@jakemulleradventures.com haunted for 10% off. The nighttime is crawling with dangerous creatures. Bigfoot, sleep paralysis demons, the Mothman. Now imagine what would make them even more terrifying. That's right.
Ben Garrett
Guns.
Brian Save
Cryptids with guns. That's where Armored Republic comes in. They equip law abiding citizens to stand against the unthinkable. Even if it's a gun wielding devil worshiping Bigfoot. From combat tested coatings to high performance carriers, every piece of their ballistic armor and tactical gear is built to protect. Visit armoredrepublic.com or text join all caps J O I N to 88027 to get involved in the preparedness effort.
Ben Garrett
Brian, let me paint you a scenario. You wake up in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. The swamp ape has flooded your yard overnight. What do you do?
Brian Save
Ben, I wouldn't even know where to begin in answering this question.
Ben Garrett
Okay, well let me answer it for you. You call the good Old boys at Dr. Drain My Lawn, and they'll rush right over. These drainage experts are the swamp ape's greatest foible. They can remove his habitat in no time. Plus, their sister company, Fence My Lawn, can follow up the drainage with a fence that is scientifically proven to keep swamp apes out. And it also looks really good.
Brian Save
Wow. If you live in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, go to drainmylawn.com haunted and you'll get 5% off any service.
Taylor Johnson
All right, so I will try to share as few details as possible without losing the important parts, because the details kind of make it so. About one and a half, two years ago now, I was driving downtown where I live, and where we live downtown has one of the biggest Masonic temples that you're ever going to see. Huge. And so I'm driving, it's nighttime. I'm listening to a podcast about something else. And for some reason, the podcast, the topic switches to Freemasonry. And then I look up and I just so happen to be passing the temple, like right at the same time. And this might sound kind of cliche, but as soon as that happened, like, the combination of it somehow kind of filled me with like this really strong feeling of dread. And I didn't really have too much background info on Freemasons, like, at the time. And so I wouldn't say that there was anything that I knew that would warrant feel like any kind of strong feelings one way or the other. And so I'm like, wow, that's like this really intense feeling. And so I pull off onto this side road that kind of runs parallel, and I could see this figure walking ahead of me on the sidewalk.
Ben Garrett
I'm out.
Taylor Johnson
And it had like a. It had a hoodie on, so I couldn't see like any features, anything like that. And remember, it's like nighttime. So I just see him in the headlights. And so as I get closer, I'm going pretty slow. I'm like, he's like five feet from the passenger side window. And when I get close to him, all of a sudden it like whips around and it was. It kind of like took a big step towards my vehicle, almost as if it was like lunging at me. Didn't hear any sound, anything like that. But the. The shocking part was that it didn't have like, a person's face.
Brian Save
Okay.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah, it did it have like a person's face. And like, the best way that I can describe it is that it was like a black hole with teeth.
Ben Garrett
Okay, now I have a cup. I I'm sorry. I know I just said we're not going to interrupt. I have a couple questions. One, did you turn onto that road because of the sense of dread, or was that just the way you were going?
Taylor Johnson
That's the way that I was going.
Ben Garrett
Okay.
Taylor Johnson
It was the gps.
Ben Garrett
Okay. Okay. So you're just, like. You're already going that direction. You pass the temple, the. The podcast changes. You start feeling uneasy, and then you see this black hole, teeth thing.
Brian Save
Black hole face, teeth. Black hole teeth, face thing.
Ben Garrett
Was this.
Brian Save
Was the temple? A Masonic Temple?
Taylor Johnson
Yes.
Brian Save
Okay. I thought so. I was just like, I'm Utah. I thought Mormons, and I just wanted to make sure I was following.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah.
Ben Garrett
Wow.
Taylor Johnson
Yep. Yeah, it was. It was pretty. It was pretty jarring. And like I said, I didn't hear anything, but it kind of, like, just the look of it, it almost gave me the impression that it was, like, screaming at me. Like it was yelling. And so I don't know if it was just, like, if it wasn't or if it was and I couldn't hear it, like, over the sound of, like, the. The podcast or, like, whatever. But, I mean, so it wasn't this at all, but the. For reference, it's almost like. Like a Demogorgon from Stranger Things.
Ben Garrett
Oh, yeah.
Taylor Johnson
Without the flaps, essentially. Yeah.
Brian Save
Yeah, A flapless Demogorgon.
Ben Garrett
So it's like. It's like the face is a hole, and then. And then it's like the whole face is filled with.
Brian Save
Let me do an artist rendition.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah, there you go.
Ben Garrett
Evan, can you carefully craft an artist rendition? So.
Brian Save
So that's insane.
Ben Garrett
You see this thing? You kind of get the sense that it's. You don't hear it, but it seems like it's screaming or it's at least upset with you. It's hooded. It's still, like, a hooded figure. And then what do you just, like, slam on the gas?
Brian Save
What'd you do?
Ben Garrett
Get out of Dodge?
Taylor Johnson
So it was coming up, like, he was, like, right at this spot where I was already turning to the left.
Brian Save
Yeah.
Taylor Johnson
And. And so I was already kind of, like, in the middle of a turn a little bit.
Brian Save
Yeah.
Taylor Johnson
And then when I saw it, I just, like, swung the wheel, like, way too far and almost, like, went up onto the sidewalk on the other side of the street. Yeah, yeah, but that's. So I just, like, overcorrected.
Brian Save
Can I do another artist rendition of what I would have done?
Ben Garrett
Well, no, I was gonna say good instincts.
Brian Save
Yeah.
Ben Garrett
To not stop.
Brian Save
Like, wait a second.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah.
Ben Garrett
So it's Insane. But you miss.
Taylor Johnson
And thankfully I wasn't moving. Like, thankfully I wasn't moving very fast.
Ben Garrett
Yeah, yeah.
Taylor Johnson
Like at that moment it must have been like 15, 20 miles an hour.
Ben Garrett
So you missed the sidewalk though, and you were able to just keep going and the thing just like stayed back, didn't pursue, nothing like that.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah, yeah. So I kept driving. And see the thing about that spot, because I thought back on it and the thing about that spot is it's really dark back there. There's not really any street lamps on that side, anything like that. And so it's like pitch black almost. And so I did look in the mirror and I didn't see anything, but I was like, it is possible that like without any lights on it, that it was just, you know, in the dark. Yeah, I couldn't see it, but. Because I did just keep going.
Ben Garrett
Yeah, that's one of the more terrifying things that I've heard firsthand that.
Brian Save
Yeah, that's why. Have you. What do you think it was like, is this a. Was it connected to the freemason stuff? Is it like, wow, there are demons around this place? Like, what do you think?
Taylor Johnson
So the first thing that I thought was, okay, like, obviously, you know, in the headlights, it's dark, whatever. There was either like some kind of optical illusion or this person had a mask or it was just trying to scare me, something like that. And so like I said, I didn't really know all that much about freemasonry stuff before that. And so for the next couple of days, I want to say like two or three days I didn't say anything to anybody because I was like, still convincing myself that it must have been a mask. I pretty sure like that's what I settled on. Right. And. But then like two or three days later, I'm at my parents house and my mom just like out of nowhere goes, hey, did you know that your grandpa was a freemason, dude? And I was like, I had heard like a couple things about that in the past, but didn't really know any details. And so she said, I don't know what it is. And she said, but over the past like week or so, I've been getting this really strong impression that I'm supposed to pray about that. Like pray like pray over that. Essentially.
Ben Garrett
This is your mom saying this to you, dude.
Taylor Johnson
So.
Ben Garrett
Mother's instinct.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah. So she, she starts telling me like a few details and about like how he left and like when he was there, all of that. And she said that something happened that caused him to leave. And. And that he won't share, like, what it is. And that because my whole mom's side of the family, they're not believers. She's the only believer on her side. And so he. Which is weird because apparently you can only get into the Freemasons if you believe in a higher power. Yeah, but he. He doesn't. And so she said that when something scares him, he kind of shuts down and refuses to talk about it.
Ben Garrett
Interesting.
Taylor Johnson
And. And so we don't really know exactly what happened. Even he wouldn't share it with my grandma either. And so then we were looking it up, kind of like researching it and things like that. And. And I might be off about some of this, but this is just from, you know, like, what I gather. Apparently there are certain oaths that they take sometimes where if you leave the Masons under certain circumstances, then you're essentially cursed and that. And that the. The spiritual effects can follow to members of your family down the line. What? Yeah, that's what. That's what I was told. That's at least what one of the oaths involves, whether, you know, how much of that is accurate or not. And so she was like, oh, but, you know, look at, you know, your, like, my side of the family. And. And the thing is about them is that, like I said, they're not believers, but their lives seem to have been marked by an unusual amount of bad luck. Like, we've thought that over the years, you know, not even making any kind of connection to anything other than, oh, just like, really bad luck. And. And then she said. And then she's like. I was wondering. She's like, I don't know, you know, how true any of this is, but she said, you know, you're a believer. And she said, so obviously, if there were any kind of, you know, negative spiritual effects, it's not going to affect you, like, in the same way. And she said. But she was like, I have to be honest. She was like, I have thought over the years that there are a lot of really weird, unexplainable things that happen to you. And. And I was like, that's interesting. And I was like, because I've thought that many times as well. And she's like, yeah, things that seem to be, like, almost outside of your control. And I was like. I was like, yeah, I was like, I have thought that. And so, long story short, I ended up telling her about what happened when I was driving by the. The temple. And she was like, oh. She's like, well, she's like, do you want to, like, talk about that with somebody? You know? And. And so I want to say, like, three, four days later or something like that. I'm talking to a. A guy who's affiliated with our church. He's like a Christian counselor about something else. And. And then I. How did it go? I said, yeah. He basically was just like, hey, like, do you have any freemasonry in your family line?
Ben Garrett
You just randomly asked that?
Taylor Johnson
Yeah. Yeah, pretty much. Yeah. And I was just like, yeah, it's funny that you should ask that. And. And so I started. I started sharing, like, some of the details, and he was like, okay. He was like, because is like, I have, like, some experience with this, some background in this, and certain things that you've told me seem to kind of overlap with other people that I know who have either, like, come out of it, like, come out of Freemasonry or, you know, just somehow affiliated with it. And so it wasn't, you know, nothing really interesting happened. He was just like, okay. So, you know, you. If that's the case, you know, if there's, like, something, you know, affecting your family or whatever it is, he's like, let's just pray about it, you know, like, ask the Lord to remove it, like, take it away.
Brian Save
Yeah.
Taylor Johnson
So we just prayed. Like, I said, nothing happened. But then this is where it gets really weird. So I know the.
Brian Save
I know it hasn't gotten really weird yet.
Taylor Johnson
Organ was pretty interesting.
Ben Garrett
Now it's child's play. This.
Taylor Johnson
This kind of, like, brought it home, that there was, like, something real going on and what. However that looks. So I'm driving back to my house, and I call my mom, and I'm like, hey. I was like, you wouldn't believe what the counselor just, like, pulled out of nowhere. Um, and she was like, Freemasonry. And she was like. She just had, like, you know, she just had this sense that, like, that's what it was. And so I was, like, telling her, like, what we had talked about. And. And then it was almost as if, like, her voice started fading into the background. Like, her voice started getting quieter and quieter and quieter. And I'm, like, checking the volume on my phone, and I'm like, that, you know, something not normal is happening with the. My phone. And then. But, like, replacing her voice was like, this growing scream. Oh, dude. It was like the. It was like the deepest, like, most guttural scream no I have ever heard. And so I was like, okay, this. I was like, this has to be, like, static like, like something, you know, this isn't a scream. Whatever. I'm looking. So I look at my phone and the screen is swiping like right to left. And like apps are opening and closing. And I can hear the scream still, like through the speaker. And so I hang up. Like I hit the power button. It turns off. Turn it back on. And I didn't know that my dad had been listening to the phone call. And so I call him back and I'm like, hey, did you hear that? And my dad goes, the demonic screaming? Yeah, I heard that, dude. And. And I was like. I was like, okay. And I was like, it was. It sounded like a scream. I was like, it wasn't just me and he. See, the thing about my dad is that he is. I mean, he grew up Southern Baptist. Yeah. Like, he's not somebody who looks for, you know, super spiritual, not like a
Brian Save
wild Pentecostal kind of tradition.
Taylor Johnson
Right. Yeah, right, exactly. And he's. Yeah, he's not looking for things like that. He's going to assume there's like a natural explanation. But like his first thing was. Yeah, he's like, I heard the demonic screaming. And he goes, I don't know what that was. And he's like, but I heard that. And he was like, I started praying down angels.
Brian Save
Dude, good dad.
Ben Garrett
Dude, good dad response. That's crazy.
Brian Save
He's like calling in airstrikes. Michael, we're going to need you right now. There's a. There's a freemasonry demon. He's a flapless demogorgon. We're going to need you to strike. 3, 2, 1. Target engagement.
Ben Garrett
That's like the Taylor. Have you ever seen Skinwalker Ranch?
Brian Save
I was gonna ask the same thing.
Ben Garrett
Okay. Do you remember the part where they're at the mesa with Thomas Winterton? Thomas Winterton and the guy, he's some kind of like guest that they have on to test stuff. And his phone is going now there's no screams. That's an added, like terrifying detail.
Brian Save
Right.
Ben Garrett
But his phone is like wigging out, doing a similar thing, opening apps and swiping and turning itself. It turned itself off and back on again at one point. Like crazy how it interferes with that electromagnetism and stuff like that.
Brian Save
And they had even more where the phone would like all of a sudden do this weird line thing. And they could only replicate it by bringing the phone close to an extremely powerful magnet.
Ben Garrett
Yes.
Brian Save
It was like multiple technology related things and they never explained it.
Ben Garrett
That was the same time that Travis Taylor, he Got all swimmy headed and he was like about to pass out
Brian Save
and no one else.
Ben Garrett
There was a bunch of people around and no one else was feeling it. And he was literally pass. Passing out.
Brian Save
And then he got radiation burns.
Ben Garrett
Yeah, yeah, I forgot that.
Brian Save
Did you get radiation burns?
Taylor Johnson
I did not.
Ben Garrett
Okay, well, that's good. Yeah, that's good.
Brian Save
I'm glad to hear that.
Ben Garrett
It's interesting, like, kind of going back to the Demogorgon thing. The whole Masonic tradition is this esoteric, like Hermes, Trismegistus, Greek and Egyptian syncretism. And if you look at some of the pantheon, especially in the Egyptian tradition, there's so many just straight up monsters, terrifying monsters. If you were to see them, you would think that is a terrifying monster. It's like Lovecraftian. And it's crazy how you're passing this esoteric place and you see a cloaked being, this humanoid chimera monster thing. That really does. Like, if you. It doesn't. It's not a big leap to think that that's what, you know, that's what the Egyptians were seeing when they were doing these rites and rituals. And that's crazy to me how it was like that explicit of a connection for you. That's. That's wild.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah, it was. Yeah. Unlike. Both of those experiences were nothing that I had a reference point for.
Brian Save
Yeah.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah. But, yeah. And then what was interesting was, you know, my mind is still at that point thinking that there has to be, you know, like some kind of other explanation. Like I'm trying to explain it away. And. And so I forget what the podcast was. But like, that day, the rest of the day, I was. I was praying about it and I was thinking, okay, like, Lord, if there is something that you. If this was, you know, a spiritual thing and there is anything else that you, you know, want me to know or you want to reveal. I was like, then, you know, like, let me know. And like the next day I was listening to a podcast and it's. It's popular. I'm trying to. What was it? I can't remember which one it was, but there's a guy on there and he. They go and they investigate, you know, spiritual stuff, and they always start the episode saying that they don't believe in the supernatural and that everything has a logical explanation. And the guy. And they've done hundreds, possibly like thousands of episodes. It's a big one. And the guy starts the episode by saying, he's like, okay, guys. He's like, I don't know exactly what happened. He's like, but he's like, I want you guys to know that I had an experience. And he's like, I'm still trying to figure out exactly what it was, but I believe in the supernatural now. Wow. And he was like. He was like, so he's like, I'm on a journey, basically. And. And he said, there is a recording that I'm going to play at the end of this episode. And he's like. He's like, don't want to be dramatic. And he was like, but as you. As I said, it changed my perspective on the supernatural. And he's like, so listen at your own discretion.
Ben Garrett
Was it astonishing Legends?
Taylor Johnson
I think it was.
Ben Garrett
When they went to the Sally House.
Brian Save
Was it the Sally House?
Taylor Johnson
That's what it was.
Brian Save
The evp, dude.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah.
Ben Garrett
Was that what it sounded like on the phone?
Taylor Johnson
That's what it's.
Ben Garrett
Okay. Sorry, sorry.
Brian Save
Whoa, bro, let him cook.
Ben Garrett
Sorry.
Taylor Johnson
That. Yeah. So I listened to the whole thing, and then that came on, and I was like, boom. I was like, that's what I heard, dude. I was like, that's exactly what I heard. And. And then I. I went and I talked to my pastor and wanted to tell him, and he was like, okay. He's like, that's very interesting. He said, because he's like. Two or three months ago, he was like, I got the impression that I was supposed to start, like, learning more about this stuff. And. And he said, I have been. I have been learning about it, and things have been coming to me. Like, information's being presented to me without me, you know, like, going to. Searching it out. And he said, but he's like, you were the first person since then to come to me and tell me about, like, an experience that you've had. And he was like. So he was like, that's crazy. And he's like, thank you. He's like, I'm kind of taking that as, like, confirmation that I'm supposed to, like, continue, like, learning more about this stuff.
Ben Garrett
Wow.
Taylor Johnson
Interesting.
Ben Garrett
Well, yeah, I mean, it's.
Brian Save
It's a whole.
Ben Garrett
I. If you ask me, it's a whole aspect of even pastoral ministry that kind of. In our modern day, where, you know, we have fallen victim to some of the material materialism, even in the church. Like, I think that's an aspect of pastoral ministry that's. That's generally neglected, or maybe not neglected without with any malice, but just kind of, like, glossed over, not really thought about, kind of ignored out of ignorance, you know, more than anything else. That's really fascinating, man. I mean it, man. I lost my train of thought. I. There was something else that I thought of when you were saying that, but.
Brian Save
Hey, Ben, I just read that our great grandparents probably experimented with butter on their dry skin as a moisturizer. Is that why you look so radiant?
Ben Garrett
Maybe it's Grandma's Butter recipe. Or maybe it's Gray Toad Tallow.
Brian Save
Their tallow products are 100% organic and naturally contain the good stuff your skin craves. No mystery there.
Ben Garrett
So say sayonara Sammy to kitchen experiments. And say hello to healthier skin. Gray Totalo Trust Busted by Skin Envied by Great Grandma's Butter Recipe.

Oh, I remember what it was with the recording from that podcast episode and your phone demon scream. As your dad said, it always makes me think of when Christ is talking about the abyss and the place where there'll be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Particularly in Luke he talks about that and then Jude talking about false teachers and how they're reserved for utter darkness. And there's the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. And the first time I heard that episode. It's nice that there's a reference point for what was on your phone that I'm aware of. That was the first thing that came to mind is this is a hateful sound. It's also like agony. It's pure agony that just.
Brian Save
So we kind of buried the lead a little bit on it. The story behind the podcast episode is that Scott Philbrook and Forrest Burgess, who are the co hosts of Astonishing Legends, they go to Atchison, Kansas.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah.
Brian Save
And there's this house that's allegedly haunted. They tell the whole Story of it. We've done episodes on it, on the house, and some of the. It is crazy, some of the stories. But they had this one digital recorder. It's an early digital recorder, and ghost hunters swear by it. You get great EVPs with this. They say, electronic voice phenomenon. Don't do this, by the way. Don't go ghost hunting. Don't try to talk to demons. It's bad. It's all bad. I would have told Scott this too, Scott Philbrook, if he asked me. Scott, call me up. Can I call you Scott? I feel like we're friends, but they. They basically did this. They put the recorder on a table. They said, hey, you know, Sally, we want to talk to you. Do you want to have a message for us? I'm going to leave this recorder here, talk into it, and I'm going to leave the room. You hear him step out of the room, close the door. And then there's like eight or three minutes of the recorder being in voice activation mode.
Ben Garrett
Right.
Brian Save
Which only turns on when it registers sound.
Ben Garrett
Yeah.
Brian Save
And then you just hear this. They go over it. They. They literally send it to a forensic audiologist who works for like the FBI and have it analyzed. And he says, I can't replicate it in the recorder. I don't know how this sound got in, but what it sounds like is that it blew out the microphone, that it was the air moving, not just digital interference, which makes no sense because they were around. They were in the house when it happened, not in the room. And they know that there was no sound in that room. And the sound is like the most rage filled, guttural screaming mixed with this weird garbled sound of almost like a hundred people talking at the same time.
Ben Garrett
Yeah.
Brian Save
Don't go listen to it. It's actually probably horrible. And it's. I think it's demons.
Ben Garrett
It's horrifying to listen to, but it
Brian Save
is wild that you would hear that and go, that's what I heard, man.
Ben Garrett
Yeah.
Brian Save
That's terrifying because that's one of the only things I've ever listened to that genuinely scared me.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah.
Brian Save
Because I listened to it and I was like, this is. That was a demon.
Ben Garrett
I remember when I first heard it. I've told this story before, I think, on the show. I was at work, I was an engineer at the time, and I was just listening to the podcast in the background while I'm writing away at a report or something like that. And that came on and I literally stopped and went outside and was praying.
Brian Save
Yeah.
Ben Garrett
Because I Was like, no, that's messed up, dude.
Brian Save
And Scott had the same experience. That was a moment in his life. I hope that he comes to know Christ, because that was a moment in his life where it became like, yeah. Is the supernatural real? I don't know. I'm a real skeptic, too. It's real. He said, I don't care if somebody else thinks that they can explain that recording. We've tried everything. They went to ham radio specialists, everybody and said, what is this? They said, we don't know. That's a demon. And he was like, I don't care if anybody else tells me. I think it was this. I know it was a demon. I know that it was this.
Ben Garrett
There was also the added kind of baggage, and this is similar to your mom and dad interacting through this with you, Taylor. Like, Scott had his son with him on the trip. Now, his son was not in the house, but he was like, my son was in danger. Like, he, like, ran out of the house and he refused to go back in. That's an amazing story. And, I mean, one of the positives is just the testament to kind of the awareness of your parents and praying for you and being there for you, and even, like, that motherly instinct to just to listen for, like, what is my son needing me to pray for right now? Yeah, the spirit leads. Yeah. Like, that kind of covenantal power, negatively with your grandfather in the Masons, but then positively with your own mom and dad. Praise God for that. That's amazing.
Brian Save
Was there anything else to this or anything else happened since then or any other layers to it?
Taylor Johnson
No, I was just thinking that I was glad that there was somebody else who was there to hear what I heard. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that they can always be like, yep, that definitely happened.
Brian Save
That happened.
Ben Garrett
Yeah.
Taylor Johnson
I was there. The only other thing I can think of which isn't, you know, necessarily anything is that I never saw, like, Freemasonry stuff, symbolism, anything like that. Just growing up. And, like, since then, I've seen it for some reason, like, everywhere.
Ben Garrett
Yeah.
Taylor Johnson
Yeah. And if I pull up to the gas station and in front of me is a giant. Like, the whole windshield of this guy's car is the Masonic temp.
Ben Garrett
Yeah.
Taylor Johnson
Symbol.
Ben Garrett
Yeah.
Taylor Johnson
And. And so, yeah, I told my pastor that, and he was like. He's like. Well, he's like, maybe it's just now that you know that something like this is real for people, then it's like, opportunities to pray. Opportunities. More opportunities to share the gospel, you know, things like that.
Brian Save
Yeah, yeah.
Ben Garrett
Amen yeah.
Brian Save
Well, can I close this out?
Ben Garrett
Go ahead.
Brian Save
Before we end. Thanks. Thanks, Taylor, so much for your time. We really appreciate it. I just want to leave our audience with an exhortation on this because this stuff can be really interesting. One of the lures of the Freemasonry of the esoteric is this promise of secret knowledge. It's the Gnostic, you know, I will whisper secret, powerful truths into your ear if you will. Just take the. Go through the next door of initiation and the next rite and take the next vow and come into the next inner ring of spiritual influence and higher up the echelons. And this is Freemasonry. This is how they get you in this big front door and then they bring you up through it. And my exhortation and admonition is just don't go through those doors. There is no knowledge of benefit. There is no spiritual power on the other side of those doors that are going to serve you. They only seek to steal, kill and destroy. And they promise what they can't deliver. You see it even in this story, that it's the power of Christ that protects a line even from the sins of forefathers. And the demons keep trying to get in, but if we will trust the Lord and keep the door closed, then they have no real power over us. So keep taking up the sword of the Spirit, wear the full armor of God, but when you do, maybe the Lord in his providence weaves something like this into your story. Know that Christians, we don't just play defense, we play offense. Like 2 Corinthians 10, 3, 5 says that we don't, you know, we're not just wrestling with spiritual, you know, with physical things, but we have divine power to tear down strongholds and dismantle every lofty argument raised against the knowledge of God. So don't fear, don't go through the door, but also don't live in fear. The demons should fear the Christian. The demons should fear Christ, who is our king. So we hope that this was helpful and that at even points, you. What do we do with a story like this? That's what we do. We pray against the strongholds of Satan and we make war in the, in the spiritual places by faith and, and by the grace of God. So thanks for listening, guys. We hope this was a good episode for you. Thanks again to our guests for, for joining us and giving us this time. And we'll catch you in the next graveyard shift.
