Send us Fan MailHe grew up in Chantilly, Virginia, played a bunch of sports but fell in love with basketball (inspired by Kobe and MJ), and was homeschooled until high school—something he credits with building confidence, curiosity, and a willingness to make mistakes. In college he switched from business to communications, finally thriving because his professors could explain the “why,” and that questioning mindset later made corporate tech sales miserable—especially after a big commission dispute—so he left to build apps, move into product management, and create content/books. His biggest takeaways are to build habits by identifying as the person who does them (not the one who avoids them), define health as being congruent with reality and present in the moment, and choose belief because “nothing I knew wasn’t going to happen has ever happened.”

Send us Fan MailThis podcast is a deep, raw conversation tracing the guest’s journey from early childhood trauma and identity loss through sports, mental health struggles, and a near-suicidal breaking point, to rebuilding his life through running, discipline, and purpose. He explains how trauma rewires the brain, how environment and resilience shape outcomes, and how taking life “one step at a time” became both a survival strategy and a philosophy for ultrarunning and life. The episode ultimately centers on perspective, mental and physical health, and the belief that true health is having the ability—and mindset—to build the life you want, regardless of where you start.

Send us Fan MailThis episode traces the guest’s life from discovering track at age six through elite collegiate athletics, Olympic trials, and bobsledding, where repeated head trauma quietly set the stage for severe cognitive decline. Years later, he faced dementia-like symptoms, panic attacks, memory loss, and constant suicidal ideation before realizing he was suffering from CTE—a condition he couldn’t recognize in himself despite a background in mental health. The conversation ultimately centers on survival, purpose, and hope, highlighting hyperbaric oxygen therapy as a turning point and his mission to help veterans, athletes, and families recognize and treat brain injuries before it’s too late.

Send us Fan MailJeff shares how early family dynamics, a fascination with history, and a desire for belonging gradually pulled him into neo-Nazism, where he eventually became a national leader for 25 years. Over time, meaningful relationships, dialogue, and personal reflection caused him to question everything, leading him to leave the movement and rebuild his life from rock bottom. Today, he speaks globally about de-radicalization, empathy, and the possibility of transformation, proving that even the most extreme life paths can be reversed.
