A
Oh, yeah.
B
It's like, I don't even know what I did.
A
You should use like a lacrosse ball.
B
Yeah, get in there.
A
That's a good idea. When is this gonna go up? Like next week. I can bleep foreign. Oh, my God. Wait. You guys are so cute together. We pull this closer to you and then talk into it.
B
Testing, testing. One, two, three.
A
Perfect. Perfect. Wait, that's fun. Okay, well, how are you?
B
I'm good. You know, you know better than most what's like, in my position right now with dancing, so.
A
Oh, my God. Did you. Do you think it's like, harder? Less hard?
B
Way harder.
A
Right?
B
Way harder. Yeah, I. I like going in. I was like, oh, I need to like, like work out and stuff and just kind of like make sure my body's prepared. That first week was such a, like, wake up call that I had been doing nothing before. Like, my like 15 minutes of jump rope.
A
The dumbbells are not working the same muscles.
B
It didn't help at all.
A
Yeah. Did you feel it in your back?
B
Oh, my.
A
Like being in frame or whatever.
B
Yeah, everywhere. My legs mostly because I think our first two were the cha cha and then samba. So it's just like going from not never moving my hips to like doing.
A
A hula hoop skipping leg day. This thing isn't on me. Okay, that's fine. It's on our main camera. But no, that's crazy.
B
I like. What was the. Because I know you had dance experience, but, like, was it Easy for you or was it hard? Like, what was. What was it? What was your experience in the beginning?
A
It wasn't like, it wasn't easy, but it's probably not as hard as yours. It helps a lot, just even being able to count the music.
B
Oh, yeah, I can't do that.
A
You know, I'm not gonna count.
B
I just do it off. The lyrics.
A
Yeah, like that. I remember, like, after every practice, I'd go back to the AKA get high. Yes. Are you there?
B
Yes.
A
And I'd listen to the music, and I would try and, like, find the rhythm.
B
That's good.
A
So. Yes. Think.
B
Cause, you know, like, see, I listen to audiobooks instead of. I need to stop doing that.
A
Oh, right. Like, I cannot do this anymore.
B
Well, that. Okay, that makes sense.
A
Yeah.
B
And did you feel like you were doing good or were you, like. Yeah, but, like, when you showed up every week, you were like, that. That was as good as I could have done it. Or. Or do you think you were. You were.
A
No, no, I had bad days for sure.
B
Okay.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay.
A
Yeah. No, there was. There was one when Val was sick, and then Alan had to jump in, and I swear to God, he messed me up.
B
Yeah.
A
So aggressive.
B
If Danny got swapped out, I'd be so lost.
A
Yeah, she knows.
B
She's like, I just. I know how. She teaches me. If it was someone else, I'd get so lost.
A
Oh, my God. I know. I know this. I had to switch out my memory cards, so this one isn't working, but this is our main camera, and this is Dylan. I know. It's like, what. This is. This is what it is.
B
Technology. Yeah. We're good. Wait, so you were with Val. He's really funny.
A
Yeah, you guys would get along.
B
But I wanted to say, like, I. When I first showed up, everybody asked about you. Like, they love you.
A
Oh, my God.
B
It's actually shocking like. Like, how much like, Danny. Like, she's like, oh, she loves you. I was like, hey, she's not that cool. Danny, come on.
A
What about me?
B
Exactly.
A
I'm here.
B
No, but they. They really do. Like, they. They all rave about you. It's really cool.
A
Oh, my God, that's so sweet. No, I know. When I found out your partner was Danny, I'm like, she's the best.
B
She is.
A
She's just like. She's magical.
B
She works. She works. Like, I. I'm hard on myself, so I. I want to give it a hundred percent. She is up for that test. Yeah.
A
She works me.
B
Like, I know some people are like, oh, we're taking the day off because. And I'm like, the day off. Like, if anything, we do double sessions.
A
Right? Yeah. What's that like?
B
But it's. It's been so fun. Did you think Dancing with the Stars was harder than Traitors?
A
Than Traitors.
B
Because that's a question they asked me every week.
A
Right. Like, mentally, no, but physically, yeah.
B
Yes.
A
Right.
B
I could see that.
A
Yeah. Just because there's, like, less manipulation.
B
Yeah.
A
You know?
B
Yeah. And when the mental and I guess the counting and stuff was easier for you.
A
Yeah.
B
That stuff takes a toll on my brain, for sure.
A
No, totally. It's like my. When friends come to. Like, when they came to see, they'd be like, how do you remember everything?
B
Yeah.
A
Like, it's actually impressive.
B
It's not like. And it makes me, like, I've always appreciated dancers and performers and stuff. It makes me even appreciate it more because, like, yeah, I do. Like, I do still think I'm. I'm becoming a dancer, as David says, but.
A
But I'm still getting better.
B
I still feel like I'm faking it in a way, because it's like. Yeah, I don't have that same musicality of, like, the pros. It's insane. Yeah, it's a really cool talent.
A
No, me either. I mean, they're, like, in a league of their own, obviously, and they've been doing it forever, but it is. It's such, like, a skill. Are you and Danny doing, like, crazy lifts?
B
So this week's contemporary, so I think this will come out after it.
A
That's what she's, like, known for.
B
And it's. It's. It's different. Like, we haven't done any lifts or anything. And Danny's the kind of person that's going to shoot for the moon, so she immediately is like, do this overhead press and stuff. I was like, danny, I don't know if I can. Like, I've dislocated the shoulders, like, 20 times. Yeah. So, like, we. We tried. Like, she told me the spot. I whip her around my head, and she's like, all right, now press. And I'm like, are you sure this is right? And it's like, my hands down here, I'm just, like. It feels so vulnerable. I text her that night. She's so vulnerable. I text her that night. I was like, danny, like, it's hard for me to even say I can't do this, but, like, I don't think I'm gonna be able to overhead press you.
A
I have something to tell you. I Don't think I can bench press a full human while I'm standing.
B
I felt so guilty about it. Cause I don't want to.
A
Like, she's like, don't work.
B
And then, of course, the next day we show up. She's like, so we don't have to do that. But I'm like, all right. Like, I'm warmed up. Like, let's see. And we did it.
A
Oh, my God.
B
So I'm like, all right, now it's like, it's one thing to do an overhead press. And you're like, yeah.
A
Literally she's going up at different depths the whole time. You're like, stop the music. Let me get up there.
B
Yeah. So, like, how am I supposed to do this on beat? So now it's like, that's my goal today, is like, all right, how can I get her to my shoulders and actually make it look good? And so hopefully by show day, we can pull it off.
A
No, you will. Yeah, because you have. You get so much. The learning the dances in a week is so hard. It's like, I just got here.
B
It's a new style every week. But, yeah, so far, contemporary has been kind of fun.
A
It's like, yeah, it's like animalistic.
B
Yeah.
A
Interpreted.
B
That's so unnatural to me. She's like, in this part, just act like you're throwing a temper tantrum. Like, I want your head to go up and down. It's like, okay, so like, body roll.
A
Oh, I can't wait to.
B
If I do it well, it'll be fun. Otherwise, I dislocate my shoulder and fall.
A
Have you been seeing pt?
B
I have, yeah.
A
Okay.
B
And that's been helping a lot.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
B
They, like, especially in the beginning because it was like when your body's not used to it at all. Now it's like, I'm feeling better each week.
A
Okay, good. Yeah, no, same. I did something to my shoulder because Alan again wanted to do some crazy, like, lift. It wasn't even that crazy, but my arms are long and, like, got stuck and I'm. And I felt it for so long.
B
Well, I can't. I can't imagine, like, if, like, for Danny, she's professional. She. She's like, can trust to get thrown around. Like, I can't imagine what it's like to be thrown around and, like, have to stay, like, literally all the positions you're are like this and your head's, like, whipping around.
A
Like, I can't imagine, like, Val and I didn't do that many cuz we're like, the same height.
B
Yeah.
A
But I. I literally, like, broke his cervical vertebrae.
B
Oh, my God. Your hip or something.
A
Like, at the end, he wanted a lift so bad. Like, Charlie and I were doing, like, a dance off to the salsa. He's like, okay, let's try this. So I literally had my legs wrapped around his neck like this. And he's like, now lean back. And I was like, okay. And then we were spinning in a circle, and we did it so many times. And literally the next time I saw him, he had a huge scar. He's like, I needed surgery. Yeah. He would never blame me, but I know it was me.
B
I need to watch this. Yeah.
A
Because I'm like, we're the same height. Like, I'm not. You know, I'm full of muscle. Not light. But it was. It was fun for me. I was having a great time. I was like.
B
I feel like the lifts, like, Brandon and Alan are like, the two that, like, they're. They're. They're strong. Like, I'm like, they can. They can do that easy.
A
Yeah. No, you'll get there. But the girls just, like, crawl all over you and then, like, make it look good.
B
Yeah. I just have to trust. And that's. That. That's been the hardest part is, like. Like, to. To start that, like, from here to here. That's the part that's scary, is because, like, I don't know if she's gonna wobble. If I'm gonna wobble her, and then we're gonna go backwards. Like, that's the part that has the, like, fear for me. And it's like, if I can break through there, I can get it.
A
This isn't scarier.
B
No. When. Once you're locked out, that's easy because.
A
Yeah, that's wild.
B
I just have to, like, look cool.
A
And now throw a tantrum.
B
They're gonna be like, make eye contact with the audience.
A
I'll be like, right. You turn into Arnold. You, like, Shapeshift.
B
Also, did you have trouble looking at the cameras? I have, yeah. I look at the wrong camera every time. It's like the intro, and it's like. Like, this last week, I was supposed to be in the garage looking at the camera. Of course I looked at the wrong one. It's like, every time that one's not on, they're all on. There's, like, 10 cameras. Like, how do you find the one that you're supposed to look at?
A
No, they're so good at it. The pros, they're, like, always, like, switching Their heads like this.
B
After week one, we tried, and Danny was like, don't. Moving forward. Don't. Don't worry about the cameras.
A
We can't handle one more thing.
B
Yeah, don't. Don't even try after that.
A
No. It took me a while. Yeah. To, like, really give on stage. Like, do you get nervous?
B
Oh, still. Yeah, absolutely.
A
Same.
B
Did it ever get easier?
A
No, no, no, it got worse.
B
It got worse.
A
Yeah. So good pressure, right? Yeah.
B
Well, we haven't even started, like, the challenges and stuff. Like, that's gonna be hard for me.
A
Yeah.
B
Learning one dance, I can. I can just grind on. But if it's like, all right, now start. Cha cha. I'm going to be like, what do we even do that week?
A
I thought we were just in the wall.
B
Yeah. I'm like, what? That'll be really hard. So I could definitely see how it doesn't get easier.
A
Yeah. How is. How is everybody? Are you, like, clicking?
B
We are, but I said, I kind of, like, that's the. The biggest change from the Traders is we all were so in it together. Like, when we're not shooting, we're still in the castle together. We're talking real life and, like, becoming friends.
A
Yeah.
B
This one, we're all, like, at different times and stuff, so we see each other show day. We see each other Monday.
A
Yeah.
B
But it's not like we see him every day, which. I wish there was more community in it.
A
Yeah, totally. I know. You're just kind of, like, stuck with your pro.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, maybe a few others, but it's hard. And then, like, it's not like you really have time to go chat with them when you're in the studio, so.
A
Yeah. And everyone's so serious. We got to get to work. Like, Mark Ballas. Get out of here. He's, like, rolling his, like, hip for the 15th time. Like, F D. That's literally Danny. Yeah.
B
Ezra walks in. He's like, can we film? And he sees Danny, and he's like, never mind.
A
I'm like, mom's here. I love Ezra.
B
He's so. He's. He's hilarious.
A
He's naturally.
B
Naturally fun. He would be fun on Traders. Yeah, he would be a good one.
A
Oh, my God. Yeah.
B
I don't know if you'd win, but you would ruffle someone's win.
A
He'd be a good trader.
B
Yeah. Yeah.
A
Cause you, like, wouldn't expect.
B
Totally. But you would. He would add to the drama. For sure. He'd do something.
A
Stir some shit up. I know. He's a Good gossip.
B
Yeah.
A
That's why I like him, because I can count on him to, like, talk shit.
B
Yeah. But he would hold his own, too. Like, if someone came after him, he'd be like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Right.
A
Yeah. You can give it back.
B
Yeah.
A
Do you know Farrah Bunch, who does makeup? I think she does. Whitney.
B
I think so.
A
Blonde hair. She's. She was. She did my makeup on the show. And we would gossip the whole time. It was amazing. People would. We'd have to keep the door closed because people would watch and be like, we were just talking about you. But I think I love hair and makeup for that reason.
B
I think the hair and makeup is so, like, that's, like, actually one of the hang times because there's always so many people in there.
A
Yeah. Yeah. Would you do, like, a crazy costume?
B
Yeah. We've been talking about Halloween and, like, what we want to do for that, but, yeah. There's also Wicked Night, which has been announced.
A
Oh, are you going to be Glinda.
B
The song? Like, like. Okay. So, like, I'm not a huge Wicked fan.
A
No, me either.
B
So that I already knew this week was gonna be a challenge. And, like.
A
Yeah.
B
So I told Danny. I was like, danny doesn't. Isn't a huge Wicked fan either. So I was like, we need to, like, this season's so talented. We can't just, like, take it easy this week and be, like, upset that we're doing a song we don't know.
A
Right.
B
So I was like, let's take it serious. So then we're like, all right, well, we want to do this style of song so that we have, like, between these options. I was like, danny, I trust you. Just choose it now. It's like, Getting Closer. I was like, what song are we doing for Wicked again? She's like, oh, it's. It's.
A
Is it the loathing?
B
No, it's. It's.
A
You're like.
B
I was like, wait, what's this song about? I was like, how does this work? And I was just like, all right. I was like, we better come up with a good creative.
A
Yeah. And you guys should be. Because I watch it for the first time. You guys should do one of those dance numbers with Bo and Yang in it where he's in the back and, like, jazz shoes.
B
Oh, my God, I would love it. Yeah, he might be. He might come out.
A
Literally. Yeah, get him in there.
B
Did you see him in the full dobby outfit?
A
Yes.
B
I love his outfits.
A
It was so. I know. Same. I was like, is that actually Him.
B
He's so good.
A
He's so good. 1. One time we did what it was like Disney Night or something. And I was. We were Guardians of the Galaxy. So I was. What's her name? She's green.
B
Did you do the. That's the Guardians of the Galaxy song. Like the one that's like, ooka chucka. Chucka.
A
There was no ooga chucka. Yeah, no, but I love that song.
B
Yeah, we thought of that. I was like, that would be such a banger to do.
A
We had. It was, like, kind of fast. We did a quick step to it, which I loved. But, yeah, I was fully green with face prosthetics. And it was like the same team that did her.
B
See that? Dani's so. Not that. As soon as this started, she's like, dylan, I'm not wearing green. And then the whole creative pitch, I'm like, I think this only works if Dani's the witch and she has to be green and Dani's. Dylan, I'm gonna kill you.
A
Yeah. I'm literally gonna murder you.
B
But I kind of wanna. I wanna keep pushing it, right?
A
You're like, I need you to be green.
B
I'm doing. You better be green.
A
Right? Yeah. We gotta meet in the middle.
B
Yeah.
A
That's crazy. But no, that's what. Val was kind of pissed, too. Cause he was like, should we redo the quick steps since you were a big green bitch? I'm like, I loved being the green bitch. What do you mean? Like, I had so much confidence.
B
It's fun. It's like, it. Character. A little bit like Alan. Alan was like, oh, he loves it.
A
He's such a ham.
B
It was. I didn't. The first few times he walked by me, I just didn't even know it was him. And I was just like, who is like, weirdo? Yeah.
A
Wait a second.
B
I realized it was him when he was out there. I was like, oh, I've been ignoring him this whole time.
A
Okay. Yeah, good. Sorry. I'm freaking out because my memory card. Wait, will you talk? Okay. Yes. No, we're good.
B
Testing.
A
Yeah. Thank you.

A
Treat, cure, or prevent any disease. No. Alan's such a ham. Have you gotten to talk to him much?
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. He's funny.
B
I really like him.
A
Yeah, he would like you, I think.
B
Because they're talking about tour. I know. Like, I know. I. Did you go to tour?
A
Did I.
B
How long?
A
The whole time.
B
The whole time?
A
I co hosted.
B
Whoa.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
B
And it's. It's four months.
A
Yeah, it was. When I did it, it was like three. I think they extended, but it was brutal for me. I don't know.
B
Yeah.
A
But are you gonna go?
B
I. I'm gonna go for some.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah. I. Trying to figure out how long and everything like that. Yeah.
A
I didn't have anything else going on, and it was like in Bachelor had us in such a tight contract, that literally is my only option.
B
Yeah.
A
So that's why I did it for so long. But you'll probably like it if you're there for, like, two weeks or something.
B
Exactly. Whoa.
A
Yeah.
B
I could see. I could see it being really. Because, like, that was one of the things that I thought about, like, we're right now. I'm so in it and I'm so 100 dedicated to it, that as soon as I'm off the show, it's like. There is part of me that's like, man, I want to keep dancing like that. Like, I actually really enjoyed it. And I know myself. Like, I'm gonna go back and I'm not gonna dance unless someone makes me. So it's like, it is nice to have that second chance to dance again.
A
And it's way more fun. It's Way less pressure. Like, you're doing the same number every night. Like, the crowd goes wild. It's so much better than just. Just doing it, like, with the judges and being so freaked out every week. I could see that the judges love you.
B
Yeah, they were. They were nice to me the last. Last two weeks.
A
Yeah.
B
So we'll see this show as soon as they're nice to you, then.
A
Right. They're like. And actually, you stop at contemporary, so I just gotta.
B
I gotta take it in stride. Yeah, I know. It's not always gonna be like that.
A
No, I know. I was on with Vinnie Guadagnino from Jersey Shore. He got eaten up every week. He's like, this is not even the sl. Fun anymore because they were so mean.
B
You know how, like, the judges, the. The. Like, I love when they give me something to work on because it helps me set a goal. Like, Derek said this, like, do more sharp head movements, which is, like, something I've noticed. Like, all the good dancers are always like.
A
Yeah.
B
So, like, I. Like when they give me, like, feedback like that, but Right. Ultimately, end of the day, I know, like, if I did my best out there or if I messed up, like, so. So then when you know you messed up and someone tells you you messed up, it's not a great feeling.
A
Right? Totally. You're like, I'm my own hardest critic. Like, up. They're like those movements over there. Your feet got cut up for the five and the six.
B
Oh, like when I tripped. Yeah.
A
Right.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. Don't believe you me. I wanted to kill myself.
B
Yeah. That. That really is it. It's like a weird balance of being proud of yourself and not. Not trying to be hard on yourself, because.
A
Yeah.
B
As at the end of the day, like, so. So far, I am really proud that I'm showing up and giving it my all.
A
Yes, I know.
B
I could be better. I want to be better.
A
Yeah. And you'll get there. I. Because are you halfway.
B
We're. This will be our fifth week.
A
Okay. And how many weeks do you.
B
I don't know.
A
It kind of goes for a long time.
B
Yeah. I think there's 11 weeks, maybe.
A
Yeah. Yeah. But you'll find yourself. Keep getting better and better and better. Like, at the end, I was like, why couldn't I do this at the beginning?
B
Yeah.
A
My dance coaches came to see me from Broncos, and they were like. They said out loud to my other friends. They were like, where were those legs? When she was on the team, I.
B
Remember you told me that you guys, you got shredded After. After the whole season, didn't you? You said it was, like, the best shape of your life.
A
Oh, my God. I had back muscles I never even recognized before. Like, I went like this and there was, like, multiple V's.
B
Yeah, that's so cool.
A
And my posture was so good for me.
B
I lost weight so far. Like, I. I definitely am getting stronger because I'm not so sore anymore. But, like, I. I remember it was like I had a pant size. They take all your measurements?
A
Yeah.
B
Week two, they put the pants on. They're like, wait, what happened? Yeah, they were like, what happened? You lost, like, a whole size already disappearing.
A
It'.
B
But yeah, no, I'm really enjoying it so far.
A
Yeah, no, you look like it. It is. It's like. And it's pretty low stakes. Like, the judges kind of ruin it. But it's like, not even about the judges. Yeah, it's like, fun learning a new skill.
B
Yeah, that's. That's literally all it is at the end of the day.
A
Yeah.
B
And it's like that practice and performing. Like, I've never performed, so it's like I'm still figuring that out.
A
Toad. No, it's terrifying. They would always tell me to kind of, like, loosen up and put my shoulders back and be more expressive. I was like, so nerv. But one time, before our samba, I took a tequila shot.
B
I bet it worked.
A
Oh, my God. It was the best dance I'd ever done. My face was going crazy again. That was the one that my dance coaches came to. My friends were like, what is she doing? I was like, singing the lyrics, like, getting so into it. Yeah.
B
I. I don't know if I've told this story in public before, but there's. Have you ever seen the movie the Last. What's it called? Another Round? No, it was an Oscar nominated movie, but, like, for foreign film or something. Yeah, but the whole concept is that like. Like the human body based on philosophy and all the greats of our world or whatever, like all the old kings. Our bodies work best on a little bit of alcohol. It's like 0.0.
A
Yeah.
B
Like 0.06 or something. Yeah, it was like. So these. These professors try it. They're all, like, hating their lives. So they're like, all right, let's wake up at 8. We'll do 0.06 alcohol till 8pm yeah. And then we cut it off. And then so they just have a little bit all throughout the day and their lives drastically improve.
A
No way.
B
So I watched the first half of that movie and went to Europe, and, like, there they have so much wine. So. So I'd, like, have a glass of wine while I'm, like, wakeboarding on the boat. And it.
A
Right.
B
And I was like, oh, this actually does loosen you up. And then I watch the rest of the movie, and they all become alcoholics.
A
Right.
B
Immediately was like, all right, this is bad. I'm like, you bamboozled me.
A
You trapped me.
B
That's why you have to watch the whole movie, the whole lesson.
A
I always stop halfway. He's like, no, the ending is actually so important.
B
It is. If I would have only watched the first half.
A
Still be living your life like that. You're like, one sec. They said they recommended you, like, go out a little glass with a wine.
B
The movie told me this fiction movie told me that. That I should be doing this.
A
You should try it. Maybe not. It took me a while to get through the season because I was like. I didn't want to do anything different that might mess me up.
B
Yeah. But, like, you start getting superstitious.
A
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
I've already started to get.
A
What are your superstitions?
B
There's, like, a dumb one that I have right now that I. There's, like, a bottle. Like, I don't know. This is so dumb.
A
No, just say it. Just say it. Robbie's so superstitious.
B
There's, like, a place in my car where I have these bottles. And I noticed there was three bottles. And it was the third week. And then I was like, wait, I need a fourth bottle for the fourth week. So I'm, like, accumulating bottles.
A
Yeah, it's like your gold star.
B
But I liked. I was like, oh, my God, I'm gonna run out of room after six. So I was like, I need to, like, either figure out a new superstition or, like, my car's just gonna be.
A
Covered literally by the end.
B
Yeah.
A
No, but it's like, if you don't do it, you get in your head, you're like, oh, my God, it was the bottle. I swear.
B
I know. And, like, so far, I. Like. I said I am proud of how I've gone out every week. So it's. Now if I have a bad week, I'm throwing those bottles away.
A
Totally. Then start fresh.
B
Yeah. But right now, it's like, I feel like I'm doing better each week. Week. So let's keep the bottles there.
A
Bigger and bigger and bigger. Like, this gallon. No, Val, that. Well, like, all, like, the Russians are very suspicious. Yeah. Yeah. So he was. He would like, wipe my feet. Wipe his feet. Do some little number. And I'm like, lay off the feet. Like, this isn't for me, it's for you.
B
Did you guys have, like a pre dance ritual or anything?
A
Like, right before you went out, we would scream.
B
Oh, that's actually good. Like, just let it out.
A
Yeah, just like scream a bunch. And then I would never watch the package.
B
Yeah, that's. That's.
A
Yeah.
B
It's hard not to, though.
A
I know. Because you're like, well, I look good.
B
Exactly.
A
The lighting's really hitting.
B
No, like, it's like you're, like, trying to warm up, so I'm like, not listening. But then you also hear your voice and you're like, oh, right.
A
What am I saying?
B
Yeah, what do they say? Why'd they say? Use that?
A
Yeah, yeah.
B
It is like we're in the same boat. Danny's like, trying to distract me, so I'm not watching the package.
A
Totally.
B
I'm just trying to, like, focus before the dance.
A
Yeah, yeah, no, the distraction is great. And then when you hear the clicks, you like your pants.
B
Yeah. Oh, that. Week one. Oh, my God. Yeah. Week one is a feeling that was. I. I don't even remember really.
A
Wait, what? I started at week two, I think. What was your week? Ah, that's right.
B
I was so nervous.
A
Oh, my God, that's hilarious.
B
I really, like, I knew I was gonna be nervous. I knew it was going to be, like, so out of my comfort zone. So I was like, let's just do a funny song.
A
Yeah.
B
Try to make people laugh.
A
Yeah, no, that's smart.
B
And it, like, it worked. But it was like, who am I? Yeah. I was all over the place. Everyone's like, oh, this guy is a goofy, straight white male. You can tell as soon as he moved.
A
But vote for him. We love it. No, that's awesome. And you should. I remember because you. You send in, like, your music preferences or whatever at the beginning. None of mine were used ever.
B
Really?
A
Yeah. But I remember one being like, birthday sex. I was like, what are your favorite songs? Like, he's like, we're not dancing to birthday sex. I'm like, why? I don't know what we would do a contemporary.
B
I do feel like they've been good with us, like, really letting us choose the music this week. Besides. Besides, like, wicked. Wicked was.
A
Yeah.
B
There's only like 13 songs there.
A
Yeah. But like, what's your song this week?
B
This week we're doing Rewrite the Stars Every. Everybody. That's my brother's song. The Greatest showman.
A
Oh, cool.
B
So that, that'll be nice because it's.
A
Yeah.
B
I'm doing it with my little sister, so it's gonna be really.
A
Oh my God.
B
It was like that, it was definitely extra fuel to like last week I was like, I do want to do this, like, really special.
A
Yeah. And bringing in people you love is like the best part about it.
B
And it's cool because, like, I feel like been the student this whole time. Like Danny's talking me through everything.
A
Yeah.
B
Now it's like my turn to bring her out.
A
Becomes the teacher.
B
Exactly.
A
Like point your toes.
B
I'm like, don't worry. Like, you got this. I guess like, it'll be nice to like switch it up.
A
Yeah. Is she dancing?
B
Yeah.
A
Oh my God. The whole time?
B
No, not the whole time. The first like 15 seconds.
A
And how old is she?
B
Five.
A
Oh my God.
B
She's in dance school and she's like, she knows how to. Yeah. Like I, I hadn't shown her, her what she's doing yet, but she's like, I can do a lot of splits. So like if you lift me up, I think I can do like a splits and stuff.
A
I'm like, I love her.
B
Yeah.
A
She's like, this is what I'm good at. These are my strengths and you work with them.
B
I'm so excited for her.
A
Who comes to see you.
B
So far it's been my family every week. So like my Olivia and my dad's side has been there every week. My mom's come every show but once, so. Yeah, we only get six tickets still. And then my girlfriend, my girlfriend comes every week too.
A
Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, that's fine.
B
So it's pretty been, it's been nice because Olivia too, it's like, like that same way that I, I'm excited to help her. Like.
A
Yeah.
B
There was that real thing where I saw her in the stands and was like, oh, like I'm her big brother out here.
A
Like, yes.
B
Like I need to like, yeah.
A
Show up.
B
Yeah, show up.
A
Yeah.
B
So I, I, I'm really excited for that.
A
Yeah.
B
It's gonna be a, a tear jerking episode for sure.
A
Oh my God. I almost cried watching Ezra's and who's his partner again?
B
Jordan.
A
Yes.
B
Oh my gosh. When they did the anxiety song.
A
Yeah, I know. She was getting so emotional. She did so good. I'm like, there's something about it. You just are so proud of everybody else and yourself. Like it's trivial because it's dance, but it just like gets to you.
B
Jordan's. Awesome.
A
That's what Ezra said.
B
Yeah, she's. And she, she shows up. She's. And she's also just like, so talented.
A
Yeah. Like, she's gymnast.
B
Yeah. I think she can, she could go pro in any sport she wanted.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, if she was like, oh, I just want to run the 40 yard dash or whatever 100 meter, she would.
A
Right.
B
She'd become an Olympian. Like, I know some people drive, right?
A
They're just like that. They can do everything. I'm like, I don't really have the hand eye coordination either.
B
I've got like a 10. Like I'm like 90 athletic. There's 10% clots in there getting in the way.
A
Great for dance, great for the ball change.
B
That's why I have all these scars on my shins. Like, I'm a little clumsy, but. Yeah, no, the, the, the cast has been that. I wish there was more that we got to see them, but. Yeah, but it's fun to see their journey.
A
How are the Mormon wives? Is there any tea?
B
Is there any tea? Like, my first, I didn't know much about them and right when I met Whitney, I, like, loved her immediately. Like, it was like I met, I met her once. I was like, oh, like, I feel like I've known her forever.
A
Yeah. Oh, that's awesome. That's such a good feeling.
B
And then Jen, I didn't, I didn't meet. I think I didn't meet her right away. And then I've gotten to know her a little bit more and they're both like, it's hard to imagine because they have so much gossip on those shows, but they're just so normal too at the same time.
A
So it's like, it's just not that kind of show.
B
Yeah, it's like, how, how are you? How are they? Like, how's Whitney the villain on this? And like.
A
Yeah. Is she the villain?
B
She was. She used to be, I think not so much anymore, but I feel like they're just like normal people. So much stronger.
A
Right. What's going on back here that you're not telling me? Because I'd like to be in on it.
B
Yeah.
A
Whitney's such a good dancer.
B
Oh, my God.
A
Yeah, it's incredible.
B
And this is no shade to mark, but like, they both look professional. Like, if I was watching the show as not a dancer, it's like, oh, yeah, they're both professional.
A
No, I, I watch her like when they're together, it's like I'm watching her.
B
It's so good. Yeah, it's so.
A
Well, they breed dancers, the Utah people. And she went to byu, which is, like, known for the dance. So, I mean, I was a cheerleader. Like, can't say, but I didn't have that kind of dance training.
B
It's, it's, it's impressive. Like, the dancing is impressive, but it's the stage presence. Like, yes, she does have a career in. Oh, yeah, like going on Broadway or something. It's like the facial expressions and like, she actually just, like, emotes it on stage and that's what makes her look like a pro.
A
Totally. She can, like, really get lost in it.
B
Yeah, it's, It's. It's really cool to watch.
A
Yeah. You can tell what I'm thinking. Like, I'm really thinking right now. Like, what the fuck comes next? But, like, they. She doesn't. Yeah, she's like, doing hair whips. I'm like, oh, my God. On those heels.
B
Yep. No, that was my biggest thing with going into this. I was like, I know. I'm like, like, even in the rehearsals, like, my face every. Every dance before, I'm like, like, just thinking about my steps. I was like, I need to not do that.
A
No, literally. So I know you watch yourself back and you're like, is that me? It felt way better.
B
And also, like, the smiling. Like, I'm always smiling. But then when you ask to smile while you're dancing, it's not natural.
A
It's like, one thing at a time.
B
Ye at a time. I can't. I can't be like, thinking about all this stuff. Then my smile is like, turning into a cringe. I'm like, that's not. I forgot how to smile.
A
Your face is contorting like, okay, you're trying.
B
So many people too. They're like, dude, you're doing great. Just remember to smile.
A
I'm like, I'm dead. Yeah, like, it's easier said than done.

A
No, it's hard. There's so much going on. But back to the family thing. Like, say, my family would come as much as they can because they lived in Colorado, but seeing them in the stands, it's the one show that they can really be, like, invited into, which I love.
B
And it was. I remember, like, we knew for a little bit that we might be able to have them on stage. And I remember I asked Olivia was like, would you come on stage with me? Immediately, like, no. And she's like, hiding. And then she, like, comes to week one and was like, maybe I will. Like, this looks pretty fun. Week two, she's like, dylan, I have something to tell you. Like, I'm not afraid of anything.
A
I can do it.
B
I was like, yeah, it was so cool to, like, see. See that growth on her already.
A
Yeah, totally. And it's, like, good for her because who knows what she's gonna do to get comfortable on stage and stuff. Cause it's so scary. So, like, starting early is good.
B
Yeah. I didn't. I didn't hold a mic till I was like, until after trainers. I also just figured out when they first hand you the mic that you're supposed to, like, when they're giving you judges scores.
A
Yeah.
B
If you've watched, I've never really held it. I'm just like, yeah. Like, I think it was the first walkthrough they were. They told me it was just like, just hold it. Like, it's not to be talked into.
A
Yeah.
B
So then I. I just thought that's how it was. I was like, oh, I'm not supposed to talk. It's just listening.
A
Yeah.
B
And then I get. I get over and they're like, dylan, you have a bad habit of, like, dropping the mic. Like, make sure you talk into it. I was like, oh, I didn't know.
A
Yeah. You're misinforming me. You're like, what do I do with my hands? I've never been on earth before.
B
It's like, this is the judges time.
A
Yeah. Yeah. No, I know when to listen. How's Julian have. Has she said anything crazy to you?
B
No, but her interviews after so hard because it's like you're feeling a thousand emotions, and then you ask the question so that it's always like, she probably has 10 seconds to ask a question.
A
Right.
B
I'm frazzled. I have no idea what to say. So it's just like a recipe for, like, what the Heck, right now. Yeah. But I just did her podcast, and it was actually really nice.
A
Okay. Yeah, no, she does. She also has such a stage presence. You can tell she's a dancer, too.
B
And she was talking about that, too. She was like, I've been performing my whole life, so it's like, I'm so. I'm so, like, on. On when I'm on. And she's like, I'm trying to. To not be that way. I wanna. I, like. I mean, I wanna be authentic and just like.
A
Yeah.
B
And be real. And it was cool to hear that.
A
Yeah, totally. I can see that. I was listening to something the other day because, like, we were talking. I'm doing that scripted show or maybe. I don't know. I was watching the Charlie Sheen documentary also, but somebody. Two completely different things. We can get into that if you're interested.
B
I must see your Netflix algorithm.
A
Literally, it's like, Charlie Sheen, K Pop Demon Hunters. But somebody was like, yeah, they. They talk like actors do. Like, they're so aware of themselves that you can't just be normal. I'm like, I never want to be like that. Not that I'm gonna, like, I get one acting job, I have one line, and I'm like, I'm not gonna be able to ever be myself again.
B
No, I see that, though. I think that's what makes reality so hard, is it's you at the end of the day, where actors are, like, playing someone.
A
Right.
B
And. Yeah. Yeah, it's. It's. It's one thing to play a character on screen. It's another to put yourself out there that's. It's hard to put yourself out there to.
A
I love it. It's like, the only thing I know how to do. So now going backwards, but actually, I think it's good practice because then I've seen myself on TV enough that I know a little bit how to be normal and, like, keep some of the isms, you know?
B
Yes. No, but the. And that's.
A
That's.
B
It's so funny. Like, when we do the packages on Dancing with the Stars and stuff. Like, the producers are like, dylan, like, we love how you talk and how you're so real. But, like, could you not. Could you not, like, say something really impactful and then fade out? They're like, it's just how you talk. And I'm like, I'm being myself.
A
Right.
B
What do you want me to say? Like, I'm so excited to dance tonight. Yeah.
A
No, literally, no. Watching those Disney packages were so funny.
B
Yes. They I. A few of them were a little.
A
But I thought you did good.
B
Yeah, I actually had fun out there. So, like. Yeah, I think our package was pretty good.
A
It was so good. And, like, the adventure thing, tying it back, that was great.
B
But some of them were like, we are at Disneyland. I love Disneyland.
A
No, that was Val. I'm like, val. I know because I know him. I'm like, this is like. Like, he at least should have broke character or something, because he was, like, saying it through Girded Tooth. He's like, oh, you've been to Disney.
B
It was honestly, the opening of valves. It got a little bit better. It was the first 10 seconds, literally. That was take 20.
A
No, I'm like, I know this guy, and I know what's happening.
B
We had to say that. I forgot what it was. It was like. It was Disneyland, California or. No, Disneyland Disney. California Adventure. And whatever the name of the ride was, it was like Roaring Rapids Racers or something.
A
Yeah.
B
Oh, it took us over 100 times. The sound people were just dying. And I'm like, stop laughing.
A
Yeah.
B
It was so bad.
A
But you said it.
B
I think. I think I ended up trimming it down. Okay.
A
I remember you kind of saying it, and I'm like, okay. Yeah.
B
I was, like, in tears. Like, it was. It would. Everything that could go wrong went wrong, and I just mess it up in one place every time.
A
Because when you have to say something that's like that, you're like, there's just no way. There's so many words. So much pressure about adventure.
B
That's what acting can help, though. It'll help if we did a little bit of both. It might help. Help us even week one, though. I remember they were like. It was like we had to say a line that was like, and that mirror ball trophy is mine. And it was like, my first day on set, and I'm like, they. There were. I, like, walk, and there's a. Just, like, this white screen behind me. And they're like, all right, Dylan, just, like, dance a little bit. And I'm like. Like, I've always said, no, but I'm on a dance show. I was like, what am I supposed to do?
A
Like, this isn't my copy contract. This is where I draw the line. I can't dance.
B
Exactly. I was like, I don't know how to dance. So what you do? I screamed for Danny. I was like, danny, give me something. And luckily she helped. But then it was like. The next thing was like, all right, so hold them. Hold this disco ball and say, like, that. That Len or. Yeah. Mirror ball trophy is mine. And I say it how I would say it. And they're like, no, like, get. You're at a 10. Bring it to 100. And I was like, you pretty much just said, I'm at a 1 and.
A
Bring it to 10. Like, don't start at 10.
B
You're 100. Bring it to a thousand.
A
Right?
B
You're not making me feel better.
A
No, it's making me feel worse.
B
And then I saw Daniella do it, and it was like. Like, just. She's been acting forever, and she, like, gets into it like, that trophy is mine. And I was like, oh, yeah, you.
A
Need to see one, do one, teach one. Yeah.
B
That's how you're supposed to do it.
A
You're like, okay, my turn. I got this up to a.
B
Just copy exactly what she did.
A
Yeah. The same tone and everything.
B
I was just like, oh, okay. Like, that's. That's a pro.
A
Yeah. Or when they try and pull you for interview, like, mid practice.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
You're like, I'm so sweaty, I can't breathe.
B
Yeah. And, like, pit stains. I'm just like, yeah. At first I was, like, getting prepared for practice and, like, doing my hair. And then by, like, day three, I'm just like, bed head. Like, exactly.
A
You're not gonna get any more than this, but.
B
Yeah. What other funny things are there? Did Val have any, like, weird, like, intricacies or something? Like. Like, Danny has a really sharp sense of smell.
A
Oh, really?
B
And not that I smell, but, like, I picked up on it early.
A
That, like, how did you pick up on it?
B
Like, it was just everything. Like, we'd walk into a room, and she'd be like, oh, someone just microwaved cheese.
A
Oh, my God.
B
And then she'd walk in and be like, oh, this place smells like. Like, old carpet. And it was just like, there's always something about smell. And I was like, I need to not stink, because otherwise this is gonna be. This will be. This will be our first fight right now.
A
It's like, it smells like garlic and red onion.
B
Yeah.
A
Right where your shoulder meets your torso.
B
She's, like, complimenting everyone's cologne, and I'm like, do you want me to wear cologne?
A
Yeah. Like, is this a sign?
B
But luckily.
A
Maybe she's pregnant again.
B
No. No, I hope not.
A
Is it? Yeah. Like, the baby. It's a little shaken, but it's early.
B
We have lifts this week. I don't need to think of anything else, right? Yeah.
A
No, put an extra bottle. Forget about that.
B
I have two people's hands.
A
She's with child.
B
It is crazy, though. Like, the lifts are interesting because, like, the first time we tried it, it's like, it's so instinctual to not drop, like.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, there's time. Yeah. Like, it's no matter. I could hurt myself trying to catch her, but I. Yeah, it's instinctual to not drop her.
A
Yeah.
B
It's really weird feeling.
A
Totally.
B
Like, I remember, like, our first one. Like, I was like, oh, that felt like crap because I, like, went over and we almost fell.
A
Yeah.
B
But I was like, there's no chance I was going to drop her, which is. It's a weird.
A
Yeah, that's really interesting. It's like a mother instinct.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. When you're responsible for somebody else.
B
Yeah.
A
I guess I can't, like, head first.
B
Exactly. I think that's the extra. A little pressure when you're doing those.
A
Yeah.
B
I'm sure it'll start to feel normal.
A
Yeah, totally. And at least you're, like, aware of it now. If it was the opposite, like, the. Probably does not give a. Who he drops, how he drops.
B
It's. I guess it is.
A
Yeah.
B
It's good to unlearn it rather than need to learn it.
A
Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Work with it.
B
Yeah. Danny has this other move, too, where it's like, we could do a single. There was, like, spins involved, and I was like, yeah, the single. Sick. Let's do that. She's like, no, we're doing a triple. I'm like, what?
A
A triple?
B
Oh, like, she'll spin three times. I'm like, what are you talking about? We're gonna do triple. It's like, she would. She shoots for the moon. And I'm just like, all right, let's try it.
A
And how does she teach you how to do a lift? Is she, like, engage here. Now do here. Because she has to know everything.
B
No, this is like the. Like, Dan, like, everyone says that Dani's incredible.
A
She's.
B
She's one of the most, like. Like, choreography, everything. She. She's dedicated her life to dance, so she knows her shit.
A
She.
B
She's so humble and lifts. Like, she's like, Dylan, like, this isn't my expertise. Like, I don't. I don't really know. She's like, when I. Everyone loves to do lifts with her, and she's like, I go straight and I just trust.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, she's like. But she's like, I'm not the one that would be able to tell you what you need to do here, so.
A
Did you have someone, like, come in, like a dude, help you?
B
Yeah, she. We. We went on a FaceTime and, like, had had some help for a few, but she. And she knows. She knows enough. But it's like, if I'm that, like, when I was like, talking about how, like, it just feels vulnerable, like, with my left hand having more weight in here. Like, she's like, I don't know what to do about that. So that's where we would, like, FaceTime her friend and be like, why. Why does it feel, like, so shitty here? It's like, oh, it needs to be more here or something like that.
A
Oh, yeah, yeah. Like, a lot of alignment. Yeah, yeah. Ezra is really good at. I feel like, teaching lifts too, and stuff.
B
Ezra's strong.
A
Yeah, he's really strong.
B
Yeah, he looks super tall and lanky, but he's actually just, like, really strong and athletic.
A
Yeah, that's what we like to see in a man. I guess you're, like, asking about Val. Like, I wish I could. I mean, he's amazing. He's so funny. But him, he was so sweaty. Do you get sweaty?
B
No, not really.
A
I swear. Him and Alan. Well, probably not him, but Alan mostly would try and compete with Val on who's the sweaty. I mean, I could barely. If we had any kind of move where my hand was on his chest or anything. Like, we did a rumba where I was like this and I'm like, ew. Like, how do you have this much perspiration?
B
Yeah, I've noticed that. Hugging people after they perform. Like, there was. There was a hug that I did. I'm not naming names.
A
Name it. Name, name. Is it Alan?
B
And I immediately got the smell and the smell, a skin contact. And I, like, went over, like, the interviews going on. I'm like, rubbing it on the awning. I was like, oh. But I. Yeah, I. I don't think. I think I've been good. I think Danny would have told me by now if I sneak.
A
Yeah, no, she would know. She's got a nose like a canine.
B
She does.
A
She really does. What I would give. I feel like I smoke too much weed. Like, it just.
B
It's. Kills your nostrils.
A
Yeah, I don't know. I can't smell anything, actually.
B
What about flavor? Flavor then. Can you taste? Huh? I think.
A
I think so. I had Covid once and I really lost it. So I was like, smelling essential oils.
B
To try to bring it back.
A
Yeah, it didn't work. Don't try it. It's just really expensive.
B
Not how it works.
A
They cost an arm and a leg, so you're safe around me.
B
I know. I feel like I was getting shit right after Traders, where everyone thought I didn't shower, too. So I was like, that's the last thing I need is for Danita.
A
People thought you didn't shower?
B
Yeah, it was like some. Some random interview where they were. I was like. They were like, name something that is a hot take. I was like, oh, I think people take too many showers, like, a day. And then everyone's like, he doesn't shower. He smells.
A
No, people take that really offensively. Yeah. Robbie did, like, an article once, and she has really dry skin, so I think she linked, like, a lotion or something. She was like. And I shower every other day. And, like, it's fine. It's not like she's sweaty all the time, you know? Yes. But people came for her. They, like. It's like, what's.
B
Yeah, it's like. I think we're just. I don't know. I don't know if it's like this anymore, but, like, I remember growing up, it was like my friends would shower twice a day. They'd scrub their face with, like. Like, acne lotion, and it was like, we had to cover. Yeah. I think it makes it all worse.
A
Yeah.
B
It's like, we weren't doing this 100 years ago.
A
Back to the caveman. Yes. This is how I'd like to live. Yeah. That's how you respond. You're like, actually, our ancestors stop shaving. They don't have what we have now.
B
I've got my next answer. If I get in that corner again.
A
What has been, like, your favorite part?
B
I think the show day is actually really fun. Yeah. I'm starting to wake up Tuesdays. Like, I don't know. I'm not a morning person, so when I wake up, it's always like, oh, I hurt Tuesdays. I've noticed. I. I'm like, it's show day. And I'm like, like, ready. So I think that's. That's special. I think the hardest day of the week is, like, the one right when I've learned the steps, and then I have to, like, do it all the way through with technique. That day is, like, by far the hardest. Mentally, I'm like, right.
A
Heavy on the mind.
B
Yeah. I'm, like, one step away from a meltdown because I'm like, I. I can't. I can't do it. I'm just like, I know I'm doing everything wrong again. I know.
A
I'm Like.
B
And it feels like I'm never gonna get it. And then there's, like, the next day is a breakthrough.
A
Totally.
B
It's a cycle every single week.
A
Yes. Then it clicks.
B
So I. I think those are my favorites. It's. Yeah. I. It's. I think the stuff. Yeah. What. What else do I love? I think I just love. Love. Like, the constant overcoming challenges. So, like, the lift, like, again, I said, like, I. I'm. It was hard for me to admit I wasn't gonna do a lift. Yeah. Now all of a sudden, we're doing.
A
It the next day I'd be like, no.
B
So I think it's just that every week it's like, oh, I'm not gonna be able to do this. And then we do it. That's the best part of it.
A
Yeah. Yeah, I can see that for sure. I, like. Do you, like, like going somewhere every day and, like, practicing? Do you like the busyness? You want. You want to break?
B
No, I think it's weird because, like, I can see it being. It's one of those things that is so exhausting in the moment. Like, every day, like, I have no time for anything else. So I love that, like, dedication.
A
Yeah.
B
It's like, if someone writes me a work email right now, I'm not going to look at it for a week. So it's like, I'm. I'm so all in that as soon as it ends, it's going to feel really weird because now it's a routine.
A
Yeah.
B
So I. I think while it may not be like, I love that routine, it's still, like, fun.
A
Yeah.
B
And I think that's, like. That's what's weird. As soon as it's gone, I'm gonna miss it.
A
That's what everyone says. Yeah. They, like, kind of. I didn't go through depression. I was in the last, like, I remember I was. I was ready to be done because I started packing my stuff early.
B
Well, you. You were there a long time, too, though. I'm.
A
Yeah.
B
Five, four and a half weeks in, so.
A
Yeah, no, totally. I think, by the. But it is. It's such a special skill and, like. But are you staying in? Are you commuting? Okay, good. No, that's good.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. Because it's like. It kind of keeps you in a bubble.
B
Yeah.
A
So I didn't see anyone either.
B
That's it.
A
And, yeah.
B
Even, like. So, like, I'm really excited for, like, my old routine of, like, Right. Living with my girlfriend and, like, seeing my dog. Like, I'm really excited for that stuff.
A
Does she stay with you sometimes? No. Because the dog.
B
Yeah. Like. Yeah, like once a week, maybe.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, I. I'm excited for my real life to come back, but right now it's like, you know, it's like, it's so fun to just be fully in it.
A
Totally. And like, you're not on TV all the time and I don't. There is something. Yeah. About just like the physicality and working so hard and seeing what your body can do. That's actually like, fun.
B
Totally. We never get this, like, it's so weird.
A
Get paid for it.
B
It's like such an incredible opportunity to. To actually learn a new skill. And even if. Even if.
A
A fun skill.
B
Yeah, yeah. Like, even if I was taking dance lessons, like, how many dance lessons? I would get a 10. A 10 pack Groupon. I'd use it over like a year. I wouldn't remember anything. It's like I would never be able to actually, like, if I could do this same crash course in anything, I would love it if it was.
A
No. Literally any skill. Yes. Yeah. No. That's how I feel. Plus, like, being on tv, you know, it's like, best case scenario for everything.
B
Here's a question. If not like the masked singer, but if it was Dancing with the Stars singing version, like, you had to do vocal classes.
A
Oh, my God.
B
Would you do it?
A
Would you imagine I would 100% do it. I'd get kicked off the first week. My vocal fry does not allow for carrying a tune, but you bet your ass I tried.
B
But I think that's like, real, like. I know, like, singers have to, like, prep their voices and like, like they. To hit those higher octaves. It's like you're working out a muscle.
A
Yeah.
B
So it'd be pretty cool to see, like, imagine Boston Rob, like, he's like.
A
And his cap.
B
Yeah. It's like week one, buddy's like, terrible. The week Teddy's doing like, ho, ho, like, full opera.
A
Yeah. No, actually, I would love it. We went to see Dua Lipa.
B
I wanted to so bad. In October, right? The one in la.
A
It was so good.
B
That was. I had tickets and I couldn't go. It killed me.
A
Oh, my God. Why are you having tickets?
B
I know. It was like. That was like the one, like, again, we're so into the show.
A
It gets in the way of everything.
B
I can't go to the Dua Lipa concert the two days before the show.
A
Damn. Dylan's a huge DO A fan. She was amazing.
B
I believe it yes.
A
No, she was so good. Like, I liked her before, and they were like, do you want to go? I'm like, I don't say yes to anything. But I'm like, yeah, for. For Dula Peep. Yes. And then, like, she. She can really sing. I feel like at the beginning. Yeah, she can. And she's so hot. And it's.
B
Yeah, it's the Persona. I saw her in Austin. It was the same way.
A
Yeah, but I feel like her vocals have gotten better. Such a vibe. I feel like she's underrated.
B
I. I rate her so high. I don't know.
A
Not in my book. Okay.
B
Yeah, but no day. That's so funny. You were there.
A
Yeah, no, we had such a good time.
B
Yeah. Spotify was probably. I think it was a Spotify concert or something like that.
A
Oh, okay. That makes sense.
B
Is that. I don't know, something? I was thinking maybe you got your tickets from them.
A
They were like, do you want to go with Bumble and Bumble? I'm like, sure. Do you want to get your hair done? I'm like, no, Nobody's touching these locks. You bet your ass.
B
That's a nice perk. Is the weekly haircut.
A
Oh, do you get a weekly haircut? What? I didn't.
B
You didn't get a haircut every week?
A
Who cuts your hair?
B
Who is it I'm so bad with? I kind of swap around.
A
Oh, yeah. I don't have, like, a dedicated. Don't matter.
B
Yeah, I kind of just walk in and. Whoever's free. Yeah, I know. I know. The. My makeup girl once was makeup artist online. I don't know. I forgot her name, though.
A
Yeah, like, makeup hardist. I'm back.
B
Exactly. Just call her my Instagram handle.
A
Yeah.

A
What's your, like, post, like, show routine? Like, do you run to the trailer and take a shot?
B
Well, actually, no. This. This last couple weeks, Pasha and Daniela, or, like, we all go to, like, we. We got burgers and. Oh, and Courtney, too. My bad. I said that.
A
Oh, wait, who's Danielle then?
B
Yeah, so Danielle Fischl.
A
Oh, okay.
B
So after the show, we. We.
A
I can cut I'll fix it. Yeah, yeah.
B
After the show, the last two weeks, it's Pasha, Daniel, Danny, Courtney, and Danielle Fisher.
A
Okay.
B
Fishell.
A
Fishell. Is she on the cast?
B
Yeah, she's, she's, she's incredible.
A
She's.
B
She's the boy meets world.
A
Oh, Topanga. Yeah, Topanga. Yeah. Yeah.
B
So we, we have that little, like, you mentioned, like, that little, like, deep debrief session, slight trash talk, like, whatever. It was like, we had that at the, like, in her trailer. And that was really fun. Just, like, talking about, like, the whole. All the stuff we saw on the show and.
A
Yeah.
B
And we went to an Italian restaurant once. But then I'm so, Like, this is so dumb, too. But, like, I'm so, Such an audiobook person.
A
Yeah, you love audiobooks.
B
I do. So, like, after this last show, we had the burgers. It was so fun. I gotta get home to my book. I was so happy to lay in my bed and listen. I had, like, an hour left on my audiobook, and I was just like, something's wrong with me. That, like. No, we just danced on stage. We just had this crazy moment. I'm just like, I need to finish this book.
A
Wait, what book? It must have been good.
B
It's this fiction one. It's called the Faithful and the Fallen. Because I was, like, super into romantasy for a while, and I was like, maybe I should stop romantic for a second, go back to, like, fiction. And I found this series, and it's so good.
A
Oh, my God. But that's also. That's the best feeling when you're, like, really into a TV show or, like, reading something that you're like, oh, I get to go back to it.
B
Yeah. It's like, that's my little bit of comfort after something so crazy.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
B
I did have that moment where I was like, something's wrong with me. I'm like, yeah, I just had, like, the night of my life.
A
So. Dramatized. Yeah.
B
Listening to an audiobook. Quick. In the bath.
A
No, literally in the bath.
B
Yeah.
A
Candles lit. Right.
B
Essential oils.
A
Yeah. See, he bathes. Heard it here first. No, we would, we would always go to this Russian restaurant. That's so good. Because Danny is Ukrainian or Russian.
B
I, I, I've heard.
A
Yeah.
B
I think Pasha has family in Ukraine.
A
Okay. Yeah.
B
And then. And she. She was born in the US but has family in Russia maybe.
A
Okay. Yeah. They breed them.
B
It's so funny. Like, all the other, like, dance studios, they're all, they're all Russian. And it's like, yeah, they have A Monopoly. I joked with. What did I say? Because Sasha is.
A
Oh, yeah.
B
He also speaks Russian. And I was like, whoa. He saw. He speaks Australian and Russian.
A
He speaks Australian.
B
And Danny looks at me like, what?
A
You're like, can't you. You're like. You can't speak Australian, Danny. Only I can.
B
But it was funny. I'm, like, hearing his Australian accent. All of a sudden, he, like, busts out Russia. I was like, he's Russian, too.
A
Yeah. And they all speak Russian to each other. Do you know divai?
B
Is that one of the words?
A
Does Danny say that to you? It means let's go. No, the boys are more. I feel like. Like, they put it in more slang. Yes. Yeah.
B
Alan does it a lot. Alan will say bye and say something slang to Danny, and she always gets offended.
A
Yeah. Probably because he's being an asshole.
B
He said something that was like. Someone translated it for me. They were like, it translates to pig, but it's much worse.
A
What the fuck?
B
Yeah, he's an ass. Yeah.
A
Yeah. He's a lovable asshole, though. He's not an asshole. I know. He'll get so butter. But what else? There's. Val would always be like, blet. I can't say it right, but it means, like.
B
That's a good one.
A
Yeah, yeah. It's like, phonetic. Like, it feels like what it is.
B
Yeah, totally.
A
Yeah.
B
Text me a few of these. I'm going to use.
A
Impress them. Yeah. The next time you see Val, next.
B
Time I get her above my head, I'm.
A
She like, what you.
B
She's gonna just, like, fall on her own. Get out here.
A
I don't know this man.
B
Okay, maybe I won't do it, though. I'm gonna be the one that gets hurt. That is another thing that randomly happens too, though, is like. Like, did you ever get beat up with like. Like, I took an elbow to the. Danny's elbow to my nose last night.
A
Oh, my God. No.
B
Like, I feel like we're. Most of the time, it's Dani. Like, we'll just bang knees and, like, I don't feel it, but she's like. It'll be like my knee to her thigh. And she's like, ah. But there's so much spinning and stuff. Like, I'll get a claw to the face and a. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like, I feel like every dance we're just beating each other up.
A
It's probably the boy. I'm sure I beat Val up, you know, and the boy, they don't take it as well. I'm like, sorry. Sorry. He's, like, needing to pout. Yeah, I'm not that sorry anymore. Let's get back to it.
B
No, that was the nose one. I. I was like. Danny's like, no, I heard the crack, and I was like, yeah, it cracked. I was like, I'm totally fine. My eyes are gonna.
A
I don't know.
B
And then I. But I was like, let's go, let's go. And then I woke up this morning. I, like, touched down, was like, oh, what's so. Oh, my God. Is it like, what happened?
A
Oh, my. Yeah, you're like, is it broke?
B
Is it broken?
A
Now's not the time. I gotta dance.
B
No, it's. Yeah, it's. It's fun. It's so hard.
A
Yeah. Were you, like, happy when you got the call?
B
It took me some convincing.
A
Oh, really?
B
I wasn't. I wasn't sold right away. And then I had, like.
A
What were you. What? Your hesitations just about dance in the.
B
Performance, it was just like. It's so. Like, doing this. Doing the Traders was scary because it was my first reality show. I'd never been on TV and anything like that, so it was like. Yeah, it was hard. And then by the end, I saw how fun it was, and, like, I really enjoyed it. So I. I knew I. I could do another one.
A
Yeah.
B
But this was so out of my comfort zone.
A
Yeah.
B
So it was just like. Like, I. I legit didn't know if I could move to music. Like.
A
Yeah, right.
B
Like, I know I'm. I can learn sports. I know I'm pretty athletic. Athletic.
A
Yeah. And to do a whole show around it.
B
Yeah. And I'm like, is it. Is it gonna be just, like, I show up week one, I'm embarrassed myself, and I'm gone week two.
A
Right.
B
I. I, like, that's a. That's more likely than me being really good at this. Like, so. So I was just like, I don't know if I can do this. And then. Yeah, I talked with Dina, and she just, like, told, like, when she spoke about the show, she was so passionate about it.
A
Yeah. And she's the best.
B
And she was on Traders, too, but it was like, I love Traders creators, but Dancing with the Stars. Yeah. She's like, this is, like, changes lives. It makes it. And. And was just saying all these things and, like, how it's a big family and. Yeah, I. I was like, all right. And I, like, kind of drink the Kool Aid.
A
And then. Yeah.
B
And then I showed up and I was like, damn, she was right. Like, Everything she said has been true so far.
A
Yeah, totally. I love her. She's the best.
B
She's been incredible. So.
A
Yeah, I still. She texted me the other day because there's like, an anniversary night coming up or something, but I'm gonna be gone. But I'm still like. Because I'm leaving for the show, and I'm like, it's all because of you.
B
Would you have danced that night?
A
I don't think so, but I would, maybe.
B
I wouldn't be surprised if they threw curveballs like that and bringing people back.
A
Any chance I get to dance now, I will. I'm like, now I'm happy to be playing the dance coach because maybe I can, like, throw in some moves.
B
Yeah, Like, I need a real New Yorker.
A
Yes. Yeah.
B
What was your favorite style?
A
Hands. I kind of liked it all. I. I liked the samba.
B
You liked the samba?
A
It was hard. We did ours much later, though.
B
Okay.
A
Yeah.
B
I saw Whitney Samba and I was like, oh, geez. Like that. That, like, that's what's supposed to look like.
A
No, right?
B
I'm like, yeah, sorry, I can't twerk. Even Mark's hips. Mark. Mark's hips are insane.
A
Insane. Yeah. His hips can really move.
B
Yeah.
A
Val's can, too. Or not as much, but he, like, really. He'll get into this move, you know, which I love when they just, like, shake their ass.
B
I feel like Val can do everything and it looks like steezy and cool.
A
Yes.
B
Mark is just like, oh, watch my hips go.
A
He's just like, yeah, this is technical.
B
That would see a move that Mark does and be like, that does not look cool. I'm not doing that.
A
Yeah, no, literally, him and, like, getting dressed in wardrobe. He's like, I will wear this. I will never wear that color.
B
Val is, like, cool to a T. Mark is like, all right, watch this. Go. He's a performer, literally.
A
And now Val's wearing his hair out, like, more. But on my season, it would always be slick, slick, slick. And, like, I don't know what happened. It was the season premiere. I don't know. My hair was not doing what it was supposed to do. He's like, come here. I'm doing it. And he literally, oh, my God. Gave me. I have a photo or a video I'll have to show you. Because when I took out the ponytail didn't move. Like, it was so helmet head. He was like, on the blow dryer, on the hairspray, on the gel, like, fully doing my hair. Like, I'm a 5 year old.
B
Why'd you trust him?
A
Because his hair was so slicked back. No. And, like, I took it out, and I went like this, and it literally did not move.
B
Oh, my God. Yeah.
A
Like, but he doesn't do that anymore. He's like, his. His hair looks good, like, out. It's a good cut.
B
They wanted me to, like. They're like, would you ever do some fun stuff with your hair? And they, like, stuff started to straighten it. I was just like, no, it's too much. It's too much.
A
Yeah.
B
I don't think it's right.
A
No, it's easier for the girls. And when. Like, when I was there, you know, whatever. When I did it, I was like, this is the one chance to really get, like, costumey. And sometimes I'd look back and I'm like, what the was I doing with my makeup? Like, that doesn't even look like me.
B
That was my week one. I had, like. I had, like, beard color and stuff. I was like, all right, I'm never doing that again. I'm going to way less makeup.
A
Right? Like, I want to look like myself.
B
I was just like. I just sat in the chair. I was like, sweet. Go for it.
A
That's me all the time. Always regret it. Like, look alive.
B
Week one, I wasn't thinking about anything, and I was like, oh, like, I'm actually on tv. I should, like, look like this.
A
People are gonna see you. Yeah.
B
I shouldn't wear blush.
A
There's rosy cheeks. I had contacts once, like, for a vampire role, which I actually really fucked with with that.
B
That's what I'm. That's really. I want to. I want to do vampire for Halloween.
A
Yeah.
B
I think it would be fun.
A
They do really good vampire makeup. And, like, I wore the fangs or whatever. I was so into it. No, I loved it. Halloween, it's like, you can go all out.
B
Exactly. That's what.
A
Yeah.
B
I want to bring one of my. The books that I've been reading, and they're vampires.
A
Show them Inspo.
B
Yes. Bringing the audiobook to it.
A
Yeah. As you should. People get behind that, literally. Who's the. Who's the one from Acotar that. The dark angel?
B
The guy or the girl?
A
The guy.
B
Nesta. Is that. No. Is that the difference?
A
Her love interest now that Talon or whatever the fuck.
B
Gosh. I read these, like, four years ago. Is Nesta the sister? Is this.
A
Nesta's the sister?
B
The main girl's name is Feyre. Feyre.
A
I know. It's like, what is this sound like?
B
And then so which one are we thinking about?
A
Love interest. No. People are gonna be like, are you guys actually okay?
B
Yeah. I love that you remembered the tallow guy.
A
I know.
B
He's like the Spring Court.
A
No, but he was in the book for five seconds. Feyre and Love Interest. There's no Rhysand recent every sand. Yeah. Yeah.
B
We're so fake fans.
A
I read one book, I'm like, I love it.
B
That was the first one I read, but it was. It was genuinely four years ago now.
A
Oh, really?
B
Yeah, I was early.
A
Yeah.
B
But the. The one that I would base this off is Crowns of Naxia. It's like vampires and humans. And the. The love interest that I would do is one vampire, one human, but the human is, like, blind. So Danny would wear this, like, red thing on her eyes. It would look really cool.
A
Would she, like, be blind?
B
I. I think it would probably have to be she. Right? Yeah, I don't think. Yeah, but she would have, like, a sheer red band around her eye.
A
Yeah. Oh, that's sick.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah, that's really fun.
B
But she's not blind. Like, she's blind, but she just can't use her eyes. But she has, like, better vision. Yeah, she has better vision than any other human. It's like. It's a fantasy book.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
It's fake.
B
Yeah.
A
She's like. Yeah, she sees the. They smell with their nose.
B
She sees all the impulses.
A
Yeah. Well. Oh, yeah. Yes. I think we're good. Yes. Thank you so much. Where can we find you? Everybody we know, but just Dylan up front.
B
Instagram.
A
Okay, great.
B
Whatever it is.
A
Okay, perfect.
B
So good to catch up.
A
Thank you. I know. So good.

This episode dives deep into competitive dance reality shows, specifically “Dancing with the Stars,” with special guest Dylan Efron. Hosted by Gabby Windey, who brings her own multifaceted TV, athletic, and nursing backgrounds to the table, the conversation is fast-paced, honest, and flooded with humor. Dylan shares his experience on “Dancing with the Stars,” comparing it to his time on “The Traitors,” talking backstage rituals, the intensity of performance, injury mishaps, cast camaraderie, and the vulnerable joy of learning a new skill on a huge stage. The discussion is loaded with relatable anxieties, love for the process, and tons of behind-the-scenes color.
On Surviving the Intensity:
“I still feel like I’m faking it in a way, because… I don’t have that same musicality as the pros. It’s insane.” – Dylan (06:07)
On Family Motivation:
“I saw her in the stands and was like, oh, I’m her big brother out here… I need to show up.” – Dylan (30:11)
On Wardrobe & Character Nights:
“Val was kind of pissed too. ‘Should we redo the quickstep since you were a big green bitch?’ I’m like, I loved being the green bitch. What do you mean? I had so much confidence!” – Gabby (16:47)
On Receiving Feedback:
“I love when they give me something to work on because it helps me set a goal. But ultimately, end of the day, I know if I did my best out there or if I messed up.” – Dylan (21:01)
On Pre-show Nerves:
“Did it ever get easier? No, no, no, it got worse.” – Gabby (11:56)
On Post-show Rituals:
“After this last show, we had the burgers. It was so fun. I got to get home to my book… I was so happy to lay in my bed and listen.” – Dylan (57:04)
On Reality TV vs. Acting:
“It’s one thing to play a character on screen. It’s another to put yourself out there… it’s hard to put yourself out there.” – Dylan (38:10)
In true “Long Winded” style, Gabby and Dylan’s banter is fast, vulnerable, and delightfully self-aware. They oscillate between poking fun at dance-world absurdities and revealing the genuine, often tender, hardships of high-pressure performance. The episode is a feel-good, real-life peek behind the “mirror ball” at the work, humility, and heart behind reality show dancing—all delivered in Gabby’s irreverent, relatable signature voice.
Where to find Dylan:
