Hello Seekers! First off - thank you for all of the birthday wishes :) Secondly - OOOOH BOY! I think we may have found our next podcast mini-series: Occult Relics: Where Are They Now? First up: Codex Gigas, John Dee's scrying mirror (or "shew stone), and The Spear of Destiny Enjoy and thank you for getting weird with us!

Hello Seekers! Ooooooohhhhmmmaaaaannnn! Today's a good one! On multiple levels! Some of you know, some of you don't but I've been living in the Netherlands for the past four years. It's a beautiful country and I enjoy it very much however, one of the tougher adjustments that I've had to make is that I've had a tough time finding the more "mysterious and weird" aspect of the Netherlands. The occult angle here is always a pretty solid given, what with the Ritman library being here, a rich history of practicing alchemists and artists, as well as a castle supposedly inhabited by Faust. But it wasn't until my neighbor told mw about the UFO sighitngs over the area of Soesterberg that the doorway to "weird Netherlands" finally opened a crack! I can't wait to go on this adventure with you - both talking about this particular UFO sighting but also as we explore all the additional esoteric, paranormal and outright weird aspects of my new neighborhood. I feel like we have a brand new playground to run around in! As always, I hope you enjoy the episode and thanks for getting weird with us, -J

Hello Seekers! We are in a MASSIVE heatwave out in Europe right now - so much so that everythig is closed due to the heat and my computer's fan sounds like a commercial airplane trying to take off. Everything is melting, so I thought a good way to keep up the pace is to debut our first ever OSP (technically, Bizarre States Ressurected) re-run! For those that haven't listened to my old Bizaare States Ressurected podcast - DON'T! They're terrible! However, I listened through it myself, cleaned up and edited my audio and found that the bones for a wonderfully weird history episode are there and worthy of a retread. With that, I hope you're cooling your legs in a pool and sipping on some sort of tropical beverage as we take a short weird history podcast break with The Mysterious Magician of World War II - Jasper Maskelyne. As always, thank you for getting weird with me (and stay cool)!

Hello Seekers! First off, two things: 1.) I am so so sorry for the quality of my voice in this episode. I got hit with a MASSIVE cold that wiped me out for about two weeks (including during the entierty of my vacation), and I'm just not bubbling back up to the surface. My apologies that I sound all snotty and sniffly. 2.) What do Virginia Woolf, Aleister Crowley, W.B. Yeats, Peter Warlock, a mysterious death on a Cornish hillside and my vacation a few months back have in common? Way more than you'd think. This week on Occulture Shock, I explore the hidden connections between the Bloomsbury Group, the Mermaid of Zennor, my personal roadtrip out there and the occult's over-exposed bad boy, Aleister Crowley and his supposed connection to all of it. As always, I hope you enjoy and thanks for getting weird with us! Ps: Do you know we have a Patreon where you can get episodes early and ad-free? Interested? Hello Seekers! We've got a compilation podcast today which I think does a pretty decent job of covering some intriguing occult, esoteric and borderline paranormal topics, as well as, talking about some occultists/mystics and scientists that you may not have even known were occultists/ mystics and scientists. (sometimes you just have to go beyond the steretypical, and well-beaten path of the SEO and algorithim loving top of the pop version of occult "superstars" to keep it interesting - ya' know)? Also - did you know we have a Patreon? subscribers get early and ad-free access with tiered members getting extra goodies as they become available (such as our Spinnin' Spells live stream music hang-sesh). Does that tickle your fancy? If so, come join us st: patreon.com/OccultureShockPodcast Hope to see you there and thanks for getting weird with us!

Hello Seekers! IMPORTANT - DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST IF YOU DON'T WANT WIDOW'S BAY, SEASON 1 - Ep. 1-4 SPOILED!!!!!!! If you are anything like me, you have been obsessed with Apple TV's latest show, Widow's Bay (it's so damn good. Total early X-files vibes kinda' sorta') Combination 1980s horror flick + every IP Stephen King has ever come up with + The Office? = my eyeball entertainment loyalty.....but.... ...it also makes me wonder - what are the REAL mythos behind the islands lore? Come with me as we go over what's happening in Widow's Bay (and where it all really comes from); Season 1, Ep. 1-4). Enjoy & thanks for getting weird with us!

Hello Seekers! Today's topic is in honor of the recent U.S. UFO document(s) release which, once again, says everything without saying ANYTHING. Considering it is one of the largest UFO/UAP cases in history - and involved the U.S. military personnel - why haven't all of these disclosed UFO docs never really seem to touch. this particular case? Also, nwhat else is going on in that section of England, eh? Why is it just so dang .....weird? As always, enjoy the show, thanks for getting weird with us and see you all for Spinnin' Spells this Sunday!

Hello Seekers! Here in the Netherlands we just celebrated Liberation Day (when the Allies came and freed the Dutch from German occupation during WWII) and because of that, my mind started wandering about what weird WWII history would make sense for this show... Enter the conspiracy surrounding Hitler's right-hand man, Rudolf Hess. Enjoy the show and thanks for getting weird with us!

Hello Seekers! Oh man, I'm pretty fired up about this one (mostly because I feel I actually was there for a little bit of these Gardnerian, mysterious England vibes while I was visiting the King Arthur hot spots throughout the english countryside. Don't worry 0 I ramble on about all of it in today's intro - which you are free to skip if you can't deal with my double dose of word salad this week). So, back to buisness, not only is Disney's Bedknobs and Broomsticks one of my favorite classic live-action Disney movies of all time but after a rewatch this past week, it got me thinking: Why did a 1971 Disney movie feature an incantation using the real, toxic pharmacology of Hellebore, Henbane and Aconite, and what does it all have to do with Algol, The Demon Star? In today's OSP episode, we explore the possible involvement of Walt Disney in Rosicrucianisim and how the "Dark Disney" era of the 70s and 80s smuggled genuine 17th century Goetic demonology into a family friendly matinee. As always, I hope you enjoy and thanks for getting weird with us!
