Narrator
A fiery horse with a speed of light, a cloud of dust and a
Lone Ranger
hearty high O Silver.
Narrator
The Lone Range. Your rights again,
Lone Ranger
Sam.
Narrator
The Lone Ranger, mystery rider of the plains. The unknown hero of the greatest legend of the West. His face was masked. No one could get the inspiration for his life and self sacrifice. But everyone paid tribute to his strength and courage, his daring and resourcefulness. Here was a champion of right against might, the symbol of American justice and American democracy. The Lone Ranger. In a desolate Shawnee country, a heavily laden freight wagon stood beside a smoldering fire. On three sides, the hollow was surrounded by a high wooded ridge. On the fourth side lay a stream. Beside the fire, one man stirred and poked the man next to him.
Lance
Donna, come on. Now's our chance to wreck this wagon so they can't move the girls. I've been waiting for this, Lance. Shorty and Jasper went down to the water. Yeah, it's a good run back. Hey, give me that axe. I'll smash these wheels so the wagon can't roll. You get the horses ready for us to get away. I left a horse's saddle, Lance. They hobbled right yonder. Axes in your head, Darn it. Hurry up. I hear Shorty must be coming back. Where's that other axe?
Lone Ranger
Here it goes.
Lance
I got this weird this dog gun what is tough.
Lone Ranger
Hurry up.
Lance
Just once more, Kino Lance. That does for the front wheels. We won't move this cold without.
Lone Ranger
Hey. Hey.
Lance
What's wrong with Ruckus Them get her horses. I'll handle these two ombre. Remember, Lance, don't shoot. We don't want nobody to figure it was merc like I tell you. Get them car uses. I'll be right back with them. Hey, somebody shouting wood. Yeah, she like to put a bullet in them. But I reckon Donnie set the right. Howdy, Lance. Thought you was turning to sleep.
Tonto
Got plenty of work tomorrow.
Narrator
And down at the water.
Lance
It's a long way there too. All downhill on back at it. Hey. Hey. What's happened to the wagon?
Narrator
Shorty, look.
Lance
Well, I'll be. The axle broke too bad. Ain't it too bad? How are we gonna move this gold? How are we gonna get the town? Look at it. Split clean down the Tony. That axle didn't break. It was cut. Huh?
Lone Ranger
Look here.
Lance
Here's an ax. And look at the marks on the wood. Lance, is this your only way of getting even? Because you think I ain't been a good boss?
Lone Ranger
Well, speak up.
Lance
We don't want to label you skunk before we get all the facts straight. Did you do this? That's just me. Gents. Me and dawn are done it. What? We aim to get this gold for us.
Lone Ranger
Have he? Why you reach for your gun? I'm calling you right now. Sputn blazes. My gun's empty. And he pulled it in.
Narrator
Yeah.
Lone Ranger
Gents, me and Donna slipped the bullets out of your guns a little earlier.
Narrator
Don't move.
Lance
Savvy? My gun's got plenty of bullets.
Lone Ranger
Come on with them horses.
Lance
Down here.
Tonto
Get Mama.
Lance
Lance.
Lone Ranger
We better travel. Yeah, you pair of pole cats.
Narrator
Now stop.
Lone Ranger
If I have to do it by my bare hands. Hunter.
Selden
Hunter.
Lone Ranger
Get him. I got him.
Tonto
Shorty.
Lone Ranger
Shorty.
John
Are you hurt?
Lone Ranger
Come on, Lance. Let's travel. How do you Shepard. You and Shorty seeing us again? Why have I told you would be so pleased?
Selden
Are you all right?
Lone Ranger
John. At the wagon for Dar. You better stand feet of far away. Right at them. Shoot your gun into the air. They'll panic. Easy. Get up. Get real time. They won't come back this way. What do we do now? Shorty and Cha won't leave the gold.
Narrator
Connor.
Lone Ranger
They carefully move so they'll be here when we get back. You'll get the boys. Last time we was in town, I was told when to come out. Better be here mighty soon. Then we take up a ring around them two down below in the hollow and starve them out. Hi. Savvy. That way it looks like they run into trouble and just died, huh? Yeah. Then we take that wagon full of gold. Savvy? It's for us then. Clarence, you sure got smart ideas. Just one more thing. Yeah? What about Selden, the Wells Fargo agent way down the trail in town. Ain't he expecting Shorty and Jasper to show up sometime with that gold? We'll take care of Sheldon Donner. We'll see that nobody comes along that sounding trail without us knowing it. Savvy? I got my plans. And nobody stops him. Not even Sod. And wherever he is, Open up.
John
I've got to see somebody.
Lone Ranger
Open up the door.
Selden
They take a lot. Don't you know we got a sick man here? Hush.
John
I know what happened to the regiment that was camped yonder. The regiment that was spread along the river.
Selden
Go hold out.
Lone Ranger
Two days ago.
John
I got to get him back.
Selden
Mister. They got important business with border raiders. You couldn't get them.
John
Know how I'm heading for trouble. I know.
Selden
Wait a second. I didn't place you in the dark. You're serving me to the Wells Fargo.
John
I got no time for talk, Mag. I forgot to get a couple of soldiers to go along with me. But I reckon it can't be.
Lone Ranger
What's the trouble?
Selden
Where you heading?
John
I've been expecting two boys to bring in a freight wagon full of gold. Mag. I heard that they hired two hombres who are just plumb bad medicine.
Selden
Troublemakers, huh?
John
Two gents named Lance and Dar.
Lance
They're poisoned.
John
Shorty and Jasper. I'd be warned.
Lone Ranger
So they'll be on the guard rag
Selden
out and tell them. Besides, what could happen on a freak trail?
John
This ain't no ordinary trail, Meg. This here's desolate country. Empty. Ain't more than two or three people head into it in a month.
Lance
Meg.
John
It's the Shawnee country.
Selden
Shawnee country? Oh. Well, maybe you better come in, Sultan. Maybe you better tell this to the Lone Ranger.
John
That's about all there is to tell, Marshman. I gotta go out there. But I sure hate to travel by Maloozam.
Lance
Uh oh.
Tonto
You'll not talk yet, kimosabe.
Selden
I was right, masked man. The army surgeon improves your health, apprentice. But don't you overdo it.
Lone Ranger
Yep. He said anytime now you'd burk up. Be just as Lively as he ever was.
John
Burk up this dangerous country I'm going into. If you got any advice to give me about it, I assure.
Tonto
Why you not stay here?
Lance
I wish I could, Injun, but I
John
regard it as my duty.
Lance
Tonto. Mag, listen.
Lone Ranger
What is it, mister? You figured something?
Selden
Just move your lips, mask man. That's it. We'll savvy what you got to tell us.
Lance
That way.
Lone Ranger
What? What's that?
Tonto
Oh, me savage hobby.
Lone Ranger
Yeah, Mag, the masked man's saying that somebody's got to ride out with Selden.
Selden
But ain't only one of us can do that. As long as it ain't the Lone Ranger himself, that's well enough.
Lone Ranger
He's got me, huh? Me. I'm the right one to go. I know the trail. I know it.
Selden
I'm sorry, y'.
Lance
All.
Selden
Bag of winds, you can't go. Ain't that right, mister?
Lance
Yes.
Lone Ranger
Yeah, I reckon so. All right, Tono, you go.
Selden
Not me.
Lance
Guess I know it from the first adi mosadi.
Narrator
Tto leave right now with Selden.
Lance
Like you say. Thanks, Engine.
John
You and me, huh?
Tonto
That's right.
John
All right, Toto. But I got a funny feeling that
Lance
only one of us is coming back.
Narrator
Tonto and Selden left immediately, striking out into the desolate Shawnee country.
Lone Ranger
Get along. Get along, horse. Shut him up. Shall turn him off.
Narrator
They saw no signs of trouble as they traveled. But Selden's hunch was right ahead of them. At a point where the Shawnee trail narrowed down, two men sat their horses.
Lance
The two bad men, Lance and Donner. Nobody coming along the trail yet, Donner. Seldon's coming. He ought to show up soon. Maybe we ought to get back to the ridge where the rest of the boys are. No, not yet. They're keeping up a steady fire down on Shorty and Jasper. Just close enough to make him stay right where they are, but not too close. Savage Lance, Huh? Look yonder now, where the trail bends. You spot something coming over the rise. Yeah, there's a moon. Well, that must be Seld. He's coming fast. It's a good thing we got that rope strong across the trail. Get a gun lined up on that spot, daughter. As soon as the rope clips a horse, throw bullets into one.
Lone Ranger
Hey, Lance, is two horses, huh? Two, I tell you.
Selden
Can't you hear them?
Lone Ranger
All right, then we'll get rid of both of them, whoever they are. Here they come. One of them's an injured.
Lance
Line your sights up.
Lone Ranger
Any second, they'll be hitting that strung rope.
Selden
Now
Lance
they're Laying still. Ain't moving. I reckon we caught him. If the fall didn't. That engine saw the rope ahead of time. He might have had a chance to fall easy so as he wasn't knocked out and the bullets got him. But we'll make sure. Come on. We'll have a look. See?
Narrator
The outlaws spurred their horses toward the two still figures lying on the trail next to their horses. A dry wash intervened and the trail was out of sight for a few moments. And by the time they got there.
Lone Ranger
Hey, the engine's gone.
Lance
He was here a second ago.
Lone Ranger
Look for yourself.
Narrator
He's gone.
Lone Ranger
Him and his horse, too. You're local man.
Lance
He can't be far off. Maybe he roll down that slope yonder.
Lone Ranger
Hey, look. There he is. Look, he's still grogging. Look out. He's shoot. We better stop him. It's getting on his horse.
Selden
Shoot.
Narrator
Power to him.
Lone Ranger
Come on, you mangy caillou. Travel. It's no use, Lance. His horse is too fast for him. Yeah.
Selden
That paint covers ground.
Lone Ranger
Yeah. We might as well hook back into the can. Yeah, but maybe that engine will talk. Maybe you'll head for town. Be loco, Donna. You know how engines are. He won't talk to nobody about nothing. We got seldom. That's all we needed. Besides, that engine must be scared to death. He won't be backo did not leave.
Narrator
As soon as he recovered from the shock of the sudden fall, he circled back to the spot on the trail.
Lone Ranger
Oh, oka okay.
Lance
Oh, he bad sultan.
Tonto
Him go to happy hunting ground. Scout
Lance
too bad. Him say he got feel nappy trouble. Maybe we go back to mass plan now, huh?
Narrator
No, no.
Lance
That right. Scout has 10 want to know who do this. We take Harris out now. Then we go on.
Narrator
An hour later, Tonto rode Scout on the trail of the two batmen. In the moonlight, the Indian's trained eye easily picked out the hoof marks left by the outlaw's mouth.
Lone Ranger
They come this way. Can I not scout?
Narrator
Hour after hour across the rough country, Tonto urged the paint horse on until
Lone Ranger
in the distance, scout that sung like rifle fire. We go see. We go see and we go back. Hell mass sand.
Selden
Masked man. It's Tonto.
Lone Ranger
He's come back.
Selden
He's galloping up right now.
Lance
Missouri.
Narrator
Missouri?
Lone Ranger
How?
Narrator
Mask man.
Lone Ranger
I ain't doing fine, doc. Still doing fine, dear.
Selden
That masked man. First thing Tonto asks is how you are.
Tonto
Oh, ta, Kima.
Lance
Ty Tonto.
Narrator
He glad to see you again.
Lance
Ty.
Selden
Tono. What happened?
John
Where's Seldon?
Tonto
Seldon?
Lance
Him dead.
Lone Ranger
What?
Narrator
Him Dry ghost by outlaw.
Tonto
I'm sorry.
Lance
Isn't that right? He must not be.
Lone Ranger
You mean what Seldon was concerned about Tono? Was it Lance and Donna come to
Narrator
follow and come to see him?
Lone Ranger
I noticed scout had a rope barn on his leg.
Lance
Tonto.
Lone Ranger
Then how we cook you out. Where are they now?
Selden
T? What's going on out there?
Lance
You listen out. Log at 10, maybe 12 men.
Lone Ranger
They on High Ridge.
Tonto
All round Little Hollow.
Narrator
Chy.
John
Jasper.
Narrator
They in hollow wagon broken.
Selden
Surrounded by those thieves Shaglines.
Narrator
A river on one side, but not close.
Lone Ranger
Eager half hills.
Selden
Can't get the soldiers. Can't get the town folk neither. Somebody sure to brad to some hombre who'll go out and warn them rattles to finish off Shorty and Jack the Fast.
Lance
Look. He must have consummate map there ridge
Selden
near water with them poor Amber's cock her fair ass.
Lone Ranger
Man. You're studying that map awful close. You got some scheme for us to help Shorty and Jasper?
Lance
Yes.
Lone Ranger
Here's a pencil. You can write most of it out.
Tonto
No need to write.
Lance
Toto.
Tonto
Got a wagon ready.
Lance
Huh?
Lone Ranger
A prairie schooner, mister.
Selden
You ain't traveling out yourself, are you?
Tonto
I'm going.
Selden
No, wait, friend. Even traveling in a wagon taking it easy, it might not be the best thing for you.
Lone Ranger
You might.
Lance
Mask friend.
Narrator
Him make up mine.
Lone Ranger
Yeah. When the Lone Ranger makes up his mag. There's no two ways about it. Mag. You might just as well stop your arguing. The masked man says he's gone, and that means he's gone. Better get that wagon ready.
Narrator
They go on ahead.
Lance
Wagon.
Lone Ranger
Now, Mag.
Selden
We'll make out all right.
Lone Ranger
The masked man won't budge out of this wagon till he's got to. He'll sleep most of the way.
Selden
Friend. Be careful, won't you? You got to help folks. But just be careful for my sake.
Tonto
Don't worry, Mag. Don't worry.
Lone Ranger
All right, Tom. Here we go. Silver's right beside the wagon. Get up there.
Lance
Get up.
Lone Ranger
Gentlemen,
Narrator
Now to continue our story. Shorty and Jasper welcomed the coolness of night. It brought relief from the heat of the day. They were able to relax their vigilance, though their situation was becoming more desperate with each day that passed.
Lance
I'll stay awake and watch for Tom. Jasper. You get a little sleep. Well, I'm done with sleeping, Shorty. We ain't ever gonna leave this place alive. I don't want to waste the last few hours in sleep.
Tonto
Well, I ain't giving up yet.
Lance
You're foolish to live on hopes.
Narrator
There ain't no hope.
Lance
Now it's clear to me what them pole cats are doing. Starving us. Sure, they could have shot us if they wanted to. They didn't do it though. Just hightailed away and left us. If we starve, there won't be nothing to show we was murdered. That's their scheme. But maybe the Wels Fargo man will come hunting us.
Narrator
Well, if he's coming, where is he?
Lance
Oh, there ain't nobody worrying about us.
Tonto
I reckon you're right.
Lance
Oh, gone Them Jasper you fear. They don't want to shoot us. Not unless they got to do it. Well, we might make a break to
Tonto
the river and fill our canteens.
Lance
If we'd done that, they would shoot us. Their intention to starve us if they begin. But they will shoot if need be. I'd sooner live. As long as we can while we're here, we got a chance that something will turn out. Oh, gone. Slim chance if you ask me. Hell, I ain't asking you. I know with a slim chance, but. But once they drop us with hot lead, there ain't no chance at all.
Tonto
Well, if you don't aim to get
Lance
some shut eye, I think I'll stretch out for an hour or so. You might as well. I don't hack up asleep. Call me if you do get me up at dawn anyhow. I will.
Narrator
Miles away, a prairie schooner moved through the night along a trail that led upstream but far enough from the river so the outlaw band would not throw. The mysterious Lone Ranger and his friends were passing their camp.
Lone Ranger
Hello. And take looking back to see if our friend is riding comfortable.
Tonto
Oh, Jim.
Narrator
All right, Jim.
Lone Ranger
It's great the way he's regaining his strength on this year trip, ain't it?
Narrator
Lone Ranger get well soon now, army doctor.
Lone Ranger
Pick some. Plenty good. You know, Tondo, the greatest thing a
Selden
man can hear is that shouting of
Lone Ranger
an old ranger when he's himself and riding high. Wyan Handsome.
Tonto
We not hear that for long.
Selden
Reckon we will be hearing it soon though, don't you?
Narrator
Oh, Tado hope that right.
Selden
Oh yeah, you do.
Narrator
Three more day on trail, that right?
Lone Ranger
I'm afeared we can't get the place upstream where the Lone Ranger wants to be in no rest time.
Narrator
You wait here, Raina.
Lone Ranger
Raina? For what?
Tonto
Ride to river.
Narrator
Join you later.
Lone Ranger
But what are you going to ride toward the river for? Tono, you go right into that missed outro you made mention of.
Narrator
I mean, I go that close. How to send message to Fell.
Lance
Message who?
Lone Ranger
What sort of message?
Narrator
Tell Fell not Lose half.
Lone Ranger
Get them up, Scout. We ride the river. Join you by and by. Get them up.
Lance
Oh, poor Shorty. Still got hopes that something will happen. Like a miracle to save the gold.
Narrator
Jasper looked fondly at his sleeping friend.
Lance
Then his eyes moved toward the river. I might take a chance of going for water. Shorter never let me take the risk. If he was awake, ain't no reason why I can't make my sneak for water while he's sleeping. I'm gonna try it. I'll get the canteen. They're using lead skins now, shooting arrows at us. Must have eyes like ours. See me reaching for the canteen in the dark. Hello. What's this? Notice some sort passing of the era. Can I get a light and see what it is? Don't lose hope. Help it.
Lone Ranger
Why dog on it. Hey, Shorty. Shorty, you wake up.
Lance
Hey, stop shaking me.
Lone Ranger
Wake up, Shorty.
Narrator
Wake up and hear what I got to tell you.
Lance
Jasper, you going local? What's the matter with you?
Lone Ranger
Ruth is known to.
Tonto
I'm going local.
Lone Ranger
Read it, Shorty.
Narrator
It says it would have hang on.
Lone Ranger
What to do what's told us and
Narrator
there'll be help coming.
Lone Ranger
This notes from the Lone Ranger. Who there? Whoa. Whoa. Time from your saddle to this wagon. Taco, there's something for you to hear.
Lance
What happened?
Lone Ranger
Listen. Our friend has woke up and he's up.
Tonto
Hey, Kibble. Savvy friend? Did you get the message to those ambushed men?
Lance
Get it Them strike match. Read it. Read notes. Oh, good. Where's Silver? Or him?
Narrator
Follow behind him. Wait for master.
Tonto
That's my horse.
Narrator
Him hearing your voice, eh?
Tonto
I know I'm going to be able to ride the big white fellow again soon.
Lone Ranger
Jumping Juniper. It's great to hear your voice like that now. By thunder. Racing. It'll be a bad day for them outroers when we meet them.
Lance
Toto.
Tonto
I've lost track of time for sleeping so much.
Lance
You need plenty sleep.
Tonto
Yes, but how much longer will it take us to reach that upstream camp I told you about? Maybe one day more. Good. The sooner the better. How long can those men with the gold hold out then?
Narrator
Pollard no.
Tonto
You come help. Yes, Tono, but.
Lone Ranger
Hello. Don't you see what Tonneau means? Now that them two prospectors know you're on their side, they'll hold out till Kingdom Cops.
Tonto
Come on then, Missouri.
Lone Ranger
Get up.
Selden
Get along there. Get the movin's.
Narrator
The Lone Ranger's years of healthy living gave him a vitality that brought strength back rapidly. Once he was started on the road to full Recovery. When Missouri haunted the prairie schooner beside the river far upstream from the men in ambush, the masked man found that he could mount his great white horse
Lance
and ride a bit.
Narrator
Silver gave a mighty cry of happiness.
Selden
Listen to that, Donald.
Lone Ranger
Don't Silver know his masters on the men, though?
Narrator
That's it, Silver, old boy.
Lone Ranger
Now, don't you overdo it, mister. You just let the horse walk a few paces with you for a day or so.
Tonto
We'll soon be riding again, Silver.
Lone Ranger
Come on, Dotto. We got a raft to get built and we won't get it done by standing around. We fix wrath. There's a good treat and I'll go first. Where's my ax?
Selden
Let me in.
Narrator
Fishing into the task of constructing a large raft, Missouri Encanto dropped tree after trees, stripped off the branches and rolled big logs to the water. As each log was in place, it was lashed with ropes from the wagon. After the first day, the Lone Ranger himself felt strong enough to aid with the lashing. It was a huge undertaking for the three men, but they worked steadily. In an incredibly short time, the raft was ready.
Tonto
Now we can start it down. It will take some time for the raft to reach Shorty and Jasper.
Lone Ranger
All right, mister. I'll cut the line and let her go.
Narrator
Go ahead.
Lone Ranger
There she goes.
Tonto
You'll have to follow along the bank to make sure it doesn't get stuck on rocks or wash the shore.
Lone Ranger
And me and Tondo will attend to that, mister.
Tonto
We'll all attend to it.
Lone Ranger
Ain't it great to see the Lone Ranger moving about again, Tondo?
Lance
It's plenty good.
Lone Ranger
I'm still hankering to know how this year's scheme is going to work out.
Tonto
I'm counting on those outlaws doing certain things, Missouri.
Lone Ranger
But what if they don't do what you got doing?
Tonto
Then we'll have to shoot it out. But I don't think that will be necessary.
Narrator
Shorty and Jasper followed instructions that were contained in the Lone Ranger's message. And for the next day or so were encouraged by new hope of rescue. But then hunger and thirst assailed them again.
Lance
It was at night. Yes. I'm just about licked. Me too, Shorty. We'd done all we was told to
Tonto
do down there under cover of Dart.
Lance
But I don't see no sign of the help that was promised us. The Lone Ranger promised. I kept thinking that as long as I could. Now must be that Lance and Don in that part have got the Lone Ranger. I ain't heard no gunfire. Oh. But if we was to get the help we would. Kind of rare, didn't he? Yeah, that's what he said. There ain't been no raft floating downstream. We couldn't have missed it, could we? Let's see how. Hey. Hey, look. Huh? What's that coming, Shorty?
Lone Ranger
It does look like a ramp, don't?
Lance
It is.
Lone Ranger
You can see it clear now. We're to haul it ashore right under
Narrator
the noses of them dry ghosts. But let's go.
Lone Ranger
They're gonna shoot. They'll shoot. Come on.
Lance
Head for the water.
Lone Ranger
We'll at least get a drink of it.
Narrator
Shorty and Jasper rushed for the river to capture the raft and bring it to shore. They were clearly visible in the moonlight and could have been easily shot by Lance and Donner.
Lance
I'll show Donner. None of you boys fire. We'll wait and see what those two are up to. Yeah. Where'd they get that raft anyhow? Seems to come in a doggone convenient way. Something's in the wind, boys. We'll wait and see what. They're dragging the raft in close to the shore. Tying it there, ain't they, Gar? Yeah, tying it. Now watch Sharp. Don't let him do nothing we don't know about.
Narrator
Not far from the outlaws, the Lone
Lance
Ranger and Tonto crouched and watched Star Night.
Tonto
Tonto, the killers haven't fired. Now we know they aren't going to.
Lance
Plenty lucky Tonto got a rifle ready to shoot first.
Tonto
Follow the fire. I seen with the Missouri Narrow Kimosabi. They didn't take the horses into Shorty and Jasper.
Lance
Time to go. Give them signal. That's the answer. Yeah. Someone is fetching him a couple of horses now. I savvy. If that ain't playing right into our hands.
Narrator
How's that?
Lance
Well, don't you see?
Lone Ranger
Somehow or other they got word out
Lance
and help us come for him. They're hitching up to the wagon.
Lone Ranger
They're going to put the wagon on
Lance
that there raft that's hit. Let's stop them.
Narrator
Let's start shooting.
Lone Ranger
No, no. They won't get away at all.
Lance
We'll start the wagon down. See you on the left.
Lone Ranger
What we're going to do is follow along the river. For how long? Not for far.
Lance
Why? This is playing right into our hands. We'll follow along until there's a good place to attack. Then.
Lone Ranger
Lance, they got the wagon on the raft.
Lance
They're climbing aboard.
Lone Ranger
You see them? All right. Get your horses saddles. We'll go along with them and at the first chance we'll attack them. If we gotta Shoot him now. We'll shoot em. Then we can tell a story of the raft castizing spilling the gold in the river. And Shorty and Jasper along with it. We'll have the empty wagon and the raft to bear out the story we tell. Unload the wagon, huh? Sure, unload her and move the code whenever we want it. Get to your horses as soon as you can, boys. We'll keep that raft in sight.
Narrator
The raft moved downstream with the broken wagon clearly visible in the moonlight. Lance and Donner and their friends moved along the bank until shortly before dawn. Then Lance gave the signal.
Lone Ranger
Always the guest ready. Cats were inside the wagon, but we give them a surprise. This is a good place. A tackle of mine. Come on at us. Shoot the first one. The soldiers had it. Come on, Scottish. Come under or we'll get you. Get aboard the line. We'll show. Under with you last. Hey, this place is empty. Watch it. Where's them go? Hurry up. I want to press the horses. There's no one here at all. Where's the gold? Now I get it. Those two goons fooled us. They unloaded the gold from the wagon and it's back where they was ambushed. Now I see where the wagon could be moved. All right then go ashore. We're going right back where we come from.
Tonto
No, you're not.
Selden
Hey, who is that?
Lone Ranger
Look there on the shore. That man on the white horse and a prairie schooner. That's the Lone Ranger. The first man to leave that raft just shot.
Tonto
Unless he comes ashore with his hands over his head. There are several men who are barricaded in the prairie schooner who are ready
Lone Ranger
to shoot and answers for the chance. We got you all covered, Lance. Just surrender and we'll let you have it.
Tonto
The gold is going on to where it belongs. You murderers of the Wells Fargo man are going with it. And our prisoners.
Lone Ranger
Action. Oh, my head. Don't shut your gun away, Lance. The next shot might come from one
Tonto
of the men who'd shoot the kill.
Lone Ranger
You win. You got us.
Tonto
Bring them to town, Missouri. I'll ride ahead and take word that they're coming.
Lone Ranger
Go on. Old ranger doggo says you're ready to ride again. I don't away.
