Here's adventure, here's romance. Here's the famous Robin Hood of the Old West.
Rufe Dunbar
Cisco. He's sheriff. He is getting closer this way. Pancho Foundo the Cisco Kids.
McGill
SA now.
Narrator
The Cisco Kid in our gripping story, Murder at the Triple S.
McGill
In the.
Narrator
Big flatlands territory of the Old west, outlaws took what they wanted with the six gun. Since law enforcement agencies were undermanned and widely separated, bad men laughed at the law. And by far the most powerful and ruthless of these bad men was the killer, Rufe Dunbar, who, as our story opens, is riding towards the Triple S spread with his henchmen McGill north and their gang.
Hannah Wesley
So you're going to take over the Triple H roof?
Cisco Kid
I sure am, McGill. That'll make a mighty nice base operations.
McGill
For us in this territory.
Hannah Wesley
Who owns the Triple H now?
Cisco Kid
Ah, some gal named Hannah Wesley from the East. Come out here a year ago and bought the spread.
Hannah Wesley
Gonna gun her down too?
Cisco Kid
No, no, not at first anyway. Her father's coming out here by train today. That's common talk around here. I aim to meet that train with the Triple S buckboard.
McGill
What for, Ruth?
Cisco Kid
Because I want his signature as well as hers turning the ranch over to me. I like to have everything legal, McGill.
McGill
Sure legal.
Cisco Kid
So for the time being, we'll let the gal live. Now listen, boys, boys. When we get to the ranch, she'll probably come out to see who we are. Her foreman and the two hands will come out too. When I give you the word, just gun them hombres down. By nightfall, I'll own me a ranch.
McGill
All legal.
Pancho
Waldo, have you got your list of.
Narrator
Supplies made out for your bunco?
Rufe Dunbar
Yes, mom made it out just for.
Cisco Kid
A harnessed up as your team.
Rufe Dunbar
Hey.
McGill
Oh, yeah.
Rufe Dunbar
Oh. Oh. Blasted team. Kind of skid agent. He ain't been exercising unpleasant.
Pancho
I hope they won't be skittish after we meet dad at the depot. I want everything to make a good impression on him out here for your story. He's never been west and I don't think he'll like it. He's fond of his ease and comfort, so I'm anxious to have him be pleased. Waldo.
Narrator
Yes, Ma.
McGill
I'll do my best. Who are these riders?
Pancho
I don't know. There are quite a few of them.
Rufe Dunbar
Well, great snakes. It's Ruth Dunbar and that gang here. Hey, Ed, Jack, come out here, will ya? We may have some trouble on our hands.
Cisco Kid
Howdy, ma'.
McGill
Am.
Cisco Kid
Howdy, boys.
Pancho
What do you want?
Cisco Kid
Well, we figured we'd save you the trouble of meeting your father, ma'. Am.
Rufe Dunbar
You mosey on, Dunbar. We got no time for you.
Cisco Kid
Yeah, and we got even less time for you, hombre. Open up on him, boys.
Narrator
No. No.
Rufe Dunbar
What you did.
Pancho
Oh, you. You beast.
Cisco Kid
Well, that takes care of the hands.
McGill
All right.
Cisco Kid
A couple of you boys grab that girl.
Narrator
Get away from me. Let me go.
Cisco Kid
Take her back in the ranch house and keep her there. You, Joey Patroni, get them bodies out of the way. Don't worry about your father, ma'.
McGill
Am.
Cisco Kid
Rest of us are taking this buckboard and meeting him at the depot.
Narrator
Who? Those hombres down there in the flatland, Cisco?
McGill
I do not know, Pancho.
Narrator
Nor do I know what those shots meant. After they arrived at the rancho, the distance was too great to see clearly.
Bad hombres.
McGill
No, perhaps not.
Narrator
The shots may have meant they were celebrating something. Let us wait here a moment, Chico, for the other ho logo.
Now the hombres drive back this way.
McGill
Cisco, one of them is driving a buckboard.
Narrator
Buckboard.
I may be wrong, Pancho, but I have the feeling that all is not well at avancho.
McGill
Let us ride down to meet those hombres.
Narrator
Come on, Elvisco. Yeah, Cisco. Say we go watch the train come in.
Oh, we will still have time to ride to the depot, amigo.
McGill
But do not forget the territorial marshal.
Narrator
Asked us to look over this country carefully for him. Especially with respect to the bandidos here.
Always bandidosisco.
McGill
That errand is of first important first.
Narrator
Train sentinel.
McGill
Yes.
Narrator
Tough looking bunch of hombres.
McGill
Poncho, let me do the talking, please.
Narrator
Go do the talking.
Cisco Kid
What do you hombres want?
Narrator
Our horses need water. Senor, Perhaps you would be kind enough to direct us to the nearest rancho.
Cisco Kid
Ain't any ranches around here.
Narrator
Oh, but as we rode down the hill over there, we thought we saw a rancho a short way to the north.
Cisco Kid
I said there's no ranches around here. I'll get going in that direction.
McGill
In spite of your order, hombre, mi.
Narrator
Compaero and I will continue to ride in this direction.
Cisco Kid
You want trouble with me, do you? And by thunder, you'll get it.
McGill
Yeah.
Narrator
Cisco, throw the gun.
McGill
Hey, holster that gun, stranger.
Narrator
Say, when you take your hand away from your gun.
McGill
Badombre.
Hannah Wesley
Hey, hold it. Roof. Better get going. We ain't got much Time.
McGill
Yeah, maybe so.
Cisco Kid
I'll let you off easy this time, stranger. But from now on, keep out of my way.
Narrator
We may meet again.
Cisco Kid
It's a good thing you remind me. We didn't have much time, Gill. Good thing for them too.
Hannah Wesley
Yeah, but that wasn't the reason. Don't you know who that big hombre was, Ruth?
McGill
No.
Hannah Wesley
That was a Cisco Kid.
McGill
The Cisco? You sure of that?
Hannah Wesley
Yeah, I've seen that umbre before. Gonna hang around here?
McGill
We better keep our eyes open, Rupe. Yeah.
Cisco Kid
Yeah, and maybe we had.
Hannah Wesley
What if he rides for that ranch?
Cisco Kid
And I hope he does. Joey and McRoney will get him and the other one from the ranch house. We'll keep on going.
Rufe Dunbar
Yeah.
Narrator
Come on.
Is bandido, Cisco?
They may be, Pancho.
Rufe Dunbar
Look like bandidos. Look like bandiros.
Narrator
Punch.
You think?
McGill
Well, as yet we have no proof.
Narrator
They are banderos, Chico. Now we will see if anyone is home at the ranch house.
Rufe Dunbar
Aren't you?
Narrator
Not see nobody, Cisco. Nobody home.
McGill
Yeah, we will see.
Narrator
Perhaps the owner is in the house taking a siesta.
McGill
Cisco. Cisco. Aren't you a king?
Narrator
You see somebody look out the window.
They're going to fire on you.
Rufe Dunbar
Santos. Down, Pancho. We ought to jump down this scale for warning the Madrid. Come on, Pancho.
Narrator
Break down that door.
Rufe Dunbar
They go to shoot again.
Narrator
Get the door, amigo.
Rufe Dunbar
Now once more. Drop that gun over it.
Narrator
Lucky for me your aim was poor.
Rufe Dunbar
Dropped it. I'll get the flat 120.
Narrator
Not. I just went. I dare you. Ah, why not? One down, chico.
Now see about this other one.
Rufe Dunbar
Do not know who you are, Hom.
Narrator
But I suspect you are one of.
Rufe Dunbar
That gang of hood I met to the south of here.
Narrator
Ah, too Dance.
Esco.
There.
Watch them both, Poncho. Gracious for your warning, senorita. Now perhaps you would explain all this to us.
Pancho
I'm Hannah Wesley. I own this ranch. And my foreman and I were just about to leave for the depot to meet my father coming from the east. When Ruth Dunbar and his gang rode up.
Narrator
I've heard of rude Dunbar, senorita.
McGill
Bad hombre.
Pancho
He. He just shot down my foreman and the two hands. And told his men to guard me till he got back. He's gone to the depot to meet my father. I think he's going to pretend he's from the ranch and dad doesn't know him. He'll think he is.
Narrator
What is his purpose, senorita?
Pancho
I don't know. You've helped me this much. If you could only Poncho.
Narrator
And I will ride to the depot at once. What time is the train due?
Pancho
In about 45 minutes. I want to go with me.
McGill
I would advise you to stay right here, senorita.
Narrator
Pancho will tie these homies securely, and then it will be well for you.
McGill
To keep an eye on them.
Narrator
Your foreman and the two hands, are they dead?
McGill
Yes.
Narrator
I'm sorry, senorita. Here, I'll help you with these two coyotes. Pancho, we have no time to waste, not even one minute.
Cisco Kid
Hey, Gil, any sign of the Cisco Kid back there? Well, chances are if they rode there, Joey and Madroni got them both. Oh, wait. Hey, what's that dust rising back there?
Hannah Wesley
Looks like riders coming this way.
Cisco Kid
Yeah, it's from the direction of the Triple S, too. By thunder. If Cisco went there and the boys.
Rufe Dunbar
Didn'T get them, maybe Cisco's found out what's going on. Hey, you, Aubrey. Couple of you get down out of sight in them arroyos on either side of the trail. A couple of more of you get out of sight up in this little pass ahead.
Cisco Kid
The rest of you get behind them boulders.
Rufe Dunbar
I want that Cisco Kid to ride into a pocket, understand? Once he gets in it, I don't want him to get out. McGill and I gotta keep on to the depot. Once you gun down Cisco and the other one catch up with us. Now, remember, I want that Cisco Kid killed.
Narrator
Way up ahead, Cisco.
Oh, not so far ahead now, amigo.
We catch up with them before they get to the depot, Cisco.
Looks as if we would, Pancho, but something is wrong. That buckboard and all those hombres riding with it were sending up a big cloud of dust.
McGill
There's not so much dust rising now.
Narrator
Maybe right on pebbles now, no maybe.
But I still do not like it.
I like it.
We are coming close, Nachico.
McGill
Let us stop and look this situation over. Look right ahead, Cisco.
Narrator
Say it looks all right.
McGill
But let us be sure what we.
Narrator
Are riding into, Poncho.
McGill
Something Diablo does not like.
Narrator
Local not like something neither.
McGill
There are two arroyos on either side.
Narrator
Of the trail ahead of us. I believe our horses are trying to tell us the danger is there, amigos.
McGill
Dry golf snow, perhaps.
Narrator
Let's ride toward that pass. Carefully, Poncho.
Carefully, Cisco.
Come on, Delo. Local.
McGill
Slow now.
Narrator
Carefully, Local.
McGill
Slow now.
Narrator
Slow.
McGill
Slow, slow, slow, slow.
Narrator
There's your guns away, Poncho do not.
McGill
Like the looks of this at all.
Narrator
But Cisco, Eh Punch are the world's best bachelor.
McGill
Wait. Wait for the hole. I thought I saw a flash sunlight.
Narrator
And a Gun barrel. Madrea.
Rufe Dunbar
That was right. Back, Pancho, back. Too close. You go either side of the trail as well.
Narrator
Down. Down.
Rufe Dunbar
Off your horse. Quickly.
Narrator
Down.
Rufe Dunbar
Quickly, Poncho. What we do now is go.
McGill
Yes.
Narrator
Around the poncho in an open face. All we can do is to dig out hollows in the sand and lie flat in the hollows. Come on, premier.
This is bad.
McGill
Dig.
Rufe Dunbar
Poo. Dig for your.
Narrator
And under the bandits. Heavy gunfire. Our friends have small chance of escaping unhit in just a moment when we turn to the Cisco Kid. Now back to the Cisco Kid in our dripping story. Murder at the Triple S. Riding to the Triple S ranch owned by Hannah Wesley Ruth Dunbar, bad man shot down the foreman of the two Hands. Then leaving two members of his gang to guard Hannah. Ruth took the ranch buckboard and started for the railroad station to meet Hannah's father, who was arriving from the East. Ruth's idea being to force the father and Hannah to sign over the ranch to him. But Cisco and Pancho arrived at the ranch, overpowered the guards. Then, learning the story from Hannah, set out in pursuit of Ruth, who, anticipating the pursuit, arranged his men in a pocket ambush. Now our friends are working frantically to dig hollow trenches for themselves out of the sand.
Let us take a shot at those hombres, Pancho. May disconcert them.
Why don't you take the shot, Kisko?
Now let us finish these trenches.
Rufe Dunbar
Almost.
Narrator
Dig the trenches.
Cisco Kid
Why not?
Rufe Dunbar
So have Icho.
Narrator
You hit bullets, drop sand and pass his face.
Then into your trench. I will get into mine. Now we keep our heads down, Pancho. The bullets cannot reach us.
Pancho showed you coyotes. Pancho showed you some bullets.
Save your ammunition, Poncho. There's no point in shooting at what you cannot see.
Make Poncho feel better, Cisco.
Santos, this sun is getting high.
There's no shade here.
I'm thirsty for a drink of water already.
McGill
You fat.
Narrator
You're ready too.
Rufe Dunbar
You better give up and walk in here with your hands up, Cisco. Suppose you try walking over here. Aubrey.
McGill
Hear that Sunday's hawk Poncho?
Narrator
Poncho like a gallon of wood at Cisco.
McGill
You better make a break for it.
Narrator
While we have our strength. Chico.
McGill
It's dangerous.
Narrator
But that is better than faking here in this burning sun.
P should do it.
Rufe Dunbar
Cisco.
McGill
Say, Cisco, we can call our horses.
Narrator
And Migo and make the flying mount if they go by.
Aren't you not good in the flying mount, Chisco? Far too fat, but fun to try.
Yeah, we better do that. I'll try to cover you as you ride away, see you ready, chico?
Ready, Chisco.
Very well.
Rufe Dunbar
Lobo.
Narrator
Those coyotes are shooting at our horses.
Rufe Dunbar
Come on, Yabo. Faster.
Narrator
Come, Lobo. Faster, Lobo.
Rufe Dunbar
Let's stop. Come on. Keep going. I have to try a flowering mound. Logo.
Narrator
Now I box that.
Make it, Cisco.
Hey, Pride.
Rufe Dunbar
Macho.
Narrator
I'll cover you as best I can.
Rufe Dunbar
Logo.
Narrator
Try again.
Give that ogre something to think about to do it.
Cisco.
Rufe Dunbar
Lolo, straight up to the pass. Pancho, this is the way we are going.
Narrator
Like hail now, Cisco.
Rufe Dunbar
Fire back, Pancho. Every time you see a flash, fire back.
Narrator
Think we are going to get away safely, Poncho.
First of the.
Rufe Dunbar
Buncho. Bueno. Now, let us get to that depot.
Narrator
As fast as we can.
Cisco Kid
I just about got to the deep on time.
McGill
McGill. Yeah.
Hannah Wesley
How are you gonna tell this man Wesley when you see him?
Cisco Kid
Hey, you're just gonna look for whoever's dressed like an Easterner.
McGill
Ain't many Easterners travel this line.
Cisco Kid
Well, here she comes. Keep your eyes open for a dude.
Narrator
Now.
Hannah Wesley
There he is. Just getting off that second tour.
Cisco Kid
Yeah. Yeah, I guess that's him all right.
McGill
Looks a lot like that gal. Now. Come on.
Cisco Kid
Your name Wesley?
Rufe Dunbar
Yes. Yes, that's right.
Cisco Kid
A couple of boys from your daughter's.
McGill
Ranch drove in here to get you.
Rufe Dunbar
Good enough. Beastly boy, that train ride was. Here are my bags.
Hannah Wesley
Here is bags, he says.
Rufe Dunbar
Hey, just what you think.
McGill
Easy.
Cisco Kid
Don't mind McGill here, Mr. Wesley. He's just plain lazy.
McGill
Hates the work.
Cisco Kid
But he'll carry your bags to the buckboard.
McGill
Won't you, McGill?
Hannah Wesley
Yes, sure, sure.
McGill
I thought you would.
Cisco Kid
Well, let's get going.
Rufe Dunbar
Just a minute. Are you too sure you're from the ranch?
McGill
Of course we are.
Rufe Dunbar
Why, you don't look like the sort of man my daughter would hire to work for her. However, things are different out here. Let's be going.
Cisco Kid
Put them bags in the back, McGill. Yeah, you can climb into the sea all right, Mr. Wesley.
Rufe Dunbar
Yes, yes, of course. I'm not helpless. Can't imagine living in these desert surroundings, old catch management at all. Have to persuade Hannah to come back east. Why didn't my daughter come to meet me herself, huh?
Cisco Kid
Oh, I don't know.
McGill
She didn't say.
Cisco Kid
Probably wanted to get a lot of cooking time. I've seen you is coming.
Rufe Dunbar
That's not like an at all t me she'd be sure to meet this decision. This outlandish country must have changed her.
Hannah Wesley
Taking a roundabout trail back.
Cisco Kid
Yeah, that's right.
Rufe Dunbar
Why roundabout trail driver, you mean this is A longer one.
Cisco Kid
Yeah, I figure it is a little longer.
Rufe Dunbar
I'm not interested in touring the country. I want to reach my daughter's ranch as soon as possible.
Cisco Kid
Well, I guess we're far enough out of town now, McGill. You'll reach your daughter's ranch all right.
McGill
Mister, but not the way you expect to.
Rufe Dunbar
My George, don't stand for such impertinence as that. I. Here. What are you doing with that revolver?
McGill
I'm pointing it at you. What do you think I'm doing?
Cisco Kid
All right, now get down out of this wagon.
McGill
Get down out of this wagon, I said.
Rufe Dunbar
Oh, very well, very well.
McGill
I get as valuables in the Guild. Sure will. Roof.
Hannah Wesley
Get your hands up in the air.
McGill
You.
Rufe Dunbar
So you two are hold up, men. You're not from the ranch. Come on, come on.
Hannah Wesley
Get them hands up.
Rufe Dunbar
Why, you insolent lout. I'll do nothing of the sort. Just let me get my hands on you and let.
Narrator
Hey, hey, let out.
Cisco Kid
By thunder, the old rooster's got spun.
Rufe Dunbar
Oh, I'll kill him for that.
Narrator
No, no, no, you fool.
McGill
Not yet.
Rufe Dunbar
Gun whippers, I will.
Narrator
Yeah.
McGill
There.
Cisco Kid
Next time he won't be so frisky.
McGill
All right.
Cisco Kid
Load him into the buckboard, McGill.
McGill
And when we get to the ranch.
Cisco Kid
We'Ll make him sign over them papers to me.
Narrator
Sound like the train committed the depot.
Rufe Dunbar
She's come.
Narrator
No, I'm afraid we are too late. The train is left for them.
Rufe Dunbar
Hold up.
Narrator
Hold up.
You want to see the train come in?
That is not important, Chico. The important thing is did the senor come on the train.
McGill
See no signs of that buckboard. Wait, wait.
Narrator
There are the wheel tracks.
McGill
Yeah.
Narrator
Wagon came into the platform here.
Pancho, go out there. No.
Say, won't you we will follow those.
McGill
Wheel tracks up the elbow. Come on.
Rufe Dunbar
Oh, look.
Narrator
We'll follow the wheel tracks. Those hombres might go far, chico.
No, they could not. Abigo, the train is not yet out of our hearing.
I'm bound to not to see the train.
McGill
Oh, cheer up.
Narrator
You can see a train within the next day or so. Chico, right now I want to see those hombres.
Pancho want to see them too.
McGill
Cisco, we will have quite a report.
Narrator
To give the territorial marsh of Pancho about the number of pantidos in this country.
Not be so many panchidos when it's he's going through with them.
Rush is for the compliment to makeover.
Rufe Dunbar
Ah, there.
Narrator
Look ahead, Poncho.
McGill
There's the buckboard.
Narrator
When I drive the buckboard and one hom Ride a horse.
McGill
See?
Narrator
Someone is lying in the back of the wagon. It might be the part of the senorita.
McGill
Monster.
Narrator
Me?
Rufe Dunbar
I've been shot at it up today. I will take the one on the horse first. Pancho, in your left, the Abercladia.
McGill
Go.
Rufe Dunbar
We will settle this matter quickly. Now we will see.
Cisco Kid
I'll get in on this, too.
Rufe Dunbar
Hurt yourself on it. When it's possible, I'll attend to you. By as soon as possible, I mean right now. Now for you, that I doubt. But you're all right.
Narrator
He's going to get down from the wagon.
Rufe Dunbar
Why not now, Grandito. One punch to the stomach. One punch to the gar. Put me on a foot, you. You won't get me though, you ruffian. I'll knock your head off.
McGill
Here, Here.
Rufe Dunbar
And you're not going to mad me.
McGill
I'm your friend.
Narrator
Do not wish to fight with you.
Rufe Dunbar
I am suspicious of everybody out here.
Narrator
Who are you?
McGill
I am called the Cisco Kid.
Narrator
This is me, componero Pancho. Let us be going on to your daughter's rancho, senor.
McGill
We'll take these two along with us.
Narrator
So they can give order to their bandidos in case they follow us.
May look like a dudis go, but he act like a bantam rooster, no?
McGill
You say your father likes the west.
Narrator
Better than he did?
Pancho
Oh, yes, he does. This way. He liked the excitement of being captured by those bandits. And it's been rescued by you and Poncho.
Narrator
In other words, your father likes excitement, senorita.
Pancho
Yes, he does. I've been wrong about him all these years. I really think, Cisco, that dads are born adventurers.
Narrator
Then out here is the place for him to find adventure.
Pancho
I've had enough to last me a long time.
McGill
Yeah, I understand. I think you will have no more.
Narrator
Trouble with Ruf Dunbar and Magil Norsengrita. Pancho and I are taking them with us to the territorial marshal.
Pancho
And what about the rest of the gang?
Narrator
They have left this part of the country.
McGill
They know the law is coming in here very shortly.
Pancho
Thanks to you, sister.
McGill
Not to me, senorita, to the marshall.
Pancho
You can say anything you like, but.
McGill
I know very well. Gracious.
Pancho
You're coming back soon to see dad and me, I hope. See, that's a promise now. But just in case you don't come back for some time. Just in case, sisco.
Rufe Dunbar
We go see.
Narrator
Big Maria very soon again.
McGill
No, see, we can go to see Big Maria. Migo, when did you last see her?
Narrator
About a month ago, Cisco.
About a month ago. Did you get along well with Big Maria then?
Or did you have a quarrel with her, Pa?
You get along fine, Cisco. Pa said the right thing that time.
McGill
And what did you say, Pancho?
Narrator
Oh, he go in the parlor.
McGill
In the parlor.
Narrator
See?
Pancho
Sit down on the couch.
Narrator
On the couch. Pot look that big, Maria.
You look that big, Maria. So what did you do then, Chico?
Pancho gave up his nerve. He leaned over very quickly kissed ignorance. You kissed her, Pancho.
McGill
Well, what did she say to that?
Narrator
She said, why, Pancho, you got no business to kiss Big Maria.
You had no business to kiss her. And what did you say to that?
Bound to say the right thing. She's ghost.
McGill
He said the right thing. But what was it?
Narrator
Father say it's not a business, Big Maria.
Rufe Dunbar
It a pleasure.
Narrator
Oh.
