The Cisco Kid in our exciting story Murder of a Nester in the turbulent days of the Old west, wars between cattlemen and homesteaders, or nesters as they were called, was common. More often than not, the opposing forces patched up their differences, but sometimes violent death resulted, especially when one faction or the other was dishonest. Take the case of Randy Moses Nestor on Willow Bend. As our story opens, Chuck Crane and Todd Walton, two small time cattlemen and rustlers, are riding towards Randy's place.

[Chuck Crane]

This might be a good way to get Randy and his wife off that place.

[Todd Walton]

Chuck, why sure it is. We'll just hide these here cowhides in his place and go tell the sheriff Randy's been rustling some of our cattle. Sheriff will look this place over, find that cowhide with our brand on him and you and me. He means at parties. He'll get first refusal of his place.

[Chuck Crane]

That's the law, huh?

[Todd Walton]

The way the law works around here.

[Chuck Crane]

Todd, you sure Randy and his wife are going to town today?

[Todd Walton]

All this do go once a week on this day.

Seems to me the quickest way to settle this matter of getting them off some mighty fine grazing land would be to gun that nester down.

[Todd Walton]

Trouble with you, Todd, is you used to be a gunfighter. And you came. Forget it. That wagon's going out there stable.

[Todd Walton]

Yeah, he's put in some hard work.

I reckon a place to take these cowhides. Todd is into that old dugout.

I thunder. It's Randy. He didn't drive to town.

I'll talk to him, Todd.

Now, according to the sheriff's directions, we take this right trail to get to Senor Andy's place.

The sheriff not seem to like us very well, Cisco.

He did look us over carefully when we called at his office to ask directions. Poncho see, this is the trail we want up. Yaba.

[Pancho]

Come on.

[Todd Walton]

Go now,

[Pancho]

Senor Auntie get married.

[Todd Walton]

Since the last time we see him, Cisco.

[Cisco Kid]

I believe that is true, Chico. But remember, we have not seen him for a long time.

[Todd Walton]

Not since he used to be a prospector.

[Pancho]

Look, Cisco, Willows grow ahead.

[Todd Walton]

I see.

[Pancho]

And there's a bend in a tail head. Must be willow Ben, though.

[Cisco Kid]

That is good thinking, Pancho. I would say that is willow Ben. There is the big hill on the right the sheriff mentioned.

[Todd Walton]

Yes, Senor Auntie's place.

[Cisco Kid]

Seems to be no one at home.

[Todd Walton]

But Matrona, did that send you around this?

[Cisco Kid]

I do not know yet, Pancho. But I am afraid

[Todd Walton]

see the Senor

[Cisco Kid]

Andy shot and killed.

[Todd Walton]

Not good, Cisco. Now, who could have done this?

[Cisco Kid]

I did not think Senor Randy had an enemy in the world.

[Todd Walton]

Both come this way, Cisco.

[Cisco Kid]

Say, it's probably Senora Mode, the wife of Senorande.

[Sarah Nestor]

Oh, boy. Hold it. What happened? Randy hurt.

[Todd Walton]

I am very sorry, senora, but Senor Randy is dead.

[Sarah Nestor]

Dead? He was all right when I left here to drive into town. He's been shot, senora.

[Cisco Kid]

I will tell you all Pancho and I know about it. We were the.

[Sarah Nestor]

You don't need to tell me nothing, you murderer.

[Pancho]

We not murder, Senora. Look out, Cisco. She can arrive from the book board

[Cisco Kid]

if you will listen for one moment. Senora Santos.

[Pancho]

Senora. And grabbed the rival, Cisco. Or she led the daylight through us.

[Cisco Kid]

Your pardon, senora, but we have no intention of being shot down.

[Sarah Nestor]

Call that rival Lick Goya.

[Pancho]

Kill her, Cisco. Not to kill her.

[Sarah Nestor]

Show you. I'll go back to town and get the sheriff on a potassium. Get up, boy.

[Todd Walton]

Did she not listen, Cisco?

[Cisco Kid]

No, she did not. I cannot blame her, though. That's the terrible shock of finding Signor Andy dead.

[Todd Walton]

Not blame neither, Cisco. But what we do now? Not stay here.

[Cisco Kid]

No see, Pancho, we will stay right here, huh? In the first place, we must clear our names from suspicion.

[Todd Walton]

From suspicious.

[Cisco Kid]

In the second place, we owe it to our old friend Senorani to find his murderer.

[Todd Walton]

We'll wait here for the sheriff. Good thing we waited here on the hill after we spotted that buckboard Todd.

[Chuck Crane]

Yeah, whoever them two hombres are, they sure didn't get a good reception from Randy's old lady. Where do you suppose she's gone, Chuck?

[Cisco Kid]

I don't know.

[Todd Walton]

But I say the natural place to head for under the circumstances would be the sheriffs.

[Chuck Crane]

Their mom braids are still down there.

[Todd Walton]

So I see.

[Chuck Crane]

I can't figure that out. I think they'd be pushing their horses to get out of here. Walking in on a killing the way they did.

[Todd Walton]

Well, you'll hang around here a while longer and watch what they do.

[Chuck Crane]

How to be if we went down there and asked him some questions, Chuck,

[Todd Walton]

that trigger finger of yours still itchy?

[Chuck Crane]

Oh, I just want to know what's going on.

[Todd Walton]

We'll wait up here for the time being. Then if we still figure them two are in our way. You better go round up some of the boys, Todd. Where do you look, Francisco?

[Cisco Kid]

I am looking for the tracks of two horses. Poncho

[Todd Walton]

here.

[Cisco Kid]

These tracks were made not long ago.

[Todd Walton]

Made today? Yeah, I would say so. Here is where the horses were stopped

and the riders dismounted.

[Todd Walton]

More here than one of the riders boosted.

And the heel Plate is that of a quarter moon. Turns up just a bit at one end. There is something to remember, Chico.

[Todd Walton]

This hombre is the one that killed Senor Andy, Cisco. No. Perhaps.

[Cisco Kid]

Perhaps not. Let's not jump to conclusions, Pancho. Now, one of the riders walked toward the dugout.

[Todd Walton]

The heel prints are a little deeper here, Pancho.

[Cisco Kid]

The hombre was carrying something fairly heavy.

[Todd Walton]

Pancho went to the dog out in sea.

[Cisco Kid]

Both would have dug out, amigo. I imagine Senor Randy lived here while he was building his house. Now, just why would that homic want to come into this dugout?

[Todd Walton]

Nobody living here for a long time says so. It's got all over the place. Say, what is this over in the corner?

[Cisco Kid]

Cowhides. No, no, wait, wait, wait. I want to light a match and see them more clearly.

[Todd Walton]

Cowhides.

[Cisco Kid]

So that is the reason that hombre came into these dugouts.

[Todd Walton]

Why?

[Cisco Kid]

Why?

[Todd Walton]

The reason why? Why?

[Cisco Kid]

Why to leave those cowhides, Poncho.

[Todd Walton]

He didn't.

[Cisco Kid]

You will notice there's very little dust on them. That means they were just left here. Now I begin to see a motive for the murder of Senor Andy.

[Sarah Nestor]

They're still around here somewhere, Sheriff.

[Todd Walton]

There's the horses Stay.

[Cisco Kid]

And the sheriff. Come on, Pancho. We got the party with him

[Todd Walton]

just as soon as not be here.

[Sarah Nestor]

There they are, Sheriff. Serve the scoundrels. Arrest them.

[Sheriff]

Get your hands up, you two.

[Cisco Kid]

See, Sheriff?

[Todd Walton]

As you wish.

[Cisco Kid]

The signora seems to think Pancho and I kill Seorande. But as I explained to you at your office, Seorande is an old friend of ours.

[Pancho]

We not kill him.

[Cisco Kid]

Sheriff, had that been our arrow, we certainly would not have stopped to ask directions of you. The sheriff.

[Sheriff]

I heard of you, Cisco. What I've heard adds up to the fact that you're a mighty hard customer.

[Todd Walton]

No, no, Sheriff. Cisco Dental is a little kitten.

[Sarah Nestor]

You say the Cisco keep.

[Cisco Kid]

That is what I'm called, Seor.

[Sheriff]

Is he an old friend of Randy's? As he says, Sarah.

[Sarah Nestor]

Well, I do seem to recall Randy speaking of him once or twice. I don't remember, though, whether it was good or bad. Probably bad.

[Todd Walton]

Cisco, why'd you look upon the hill?

[Cisco Kid]

I just saw a flash of sunlight on metal Poncho. Unless I was greatly mistaken, Randy never

[Sarah Nestor]

was much of a hand to talk. Garrett.

[Sheriff]

Well, we'll take these two in on suspicion of murder. Get the guns, boys.

[Cisco Kid]

One momento. See you, Sheriff. Poncho and I came across some clues before you got here. You might like to know about them.

[Sheriff]

I'll find my Own clues, Cisco Already

[Pancho]

got them for you, Shea.

[Sheriff]

Is this some kind of a trick?

[Cisco Kid]

At least you can listen to what we have to say, Sheriff. That will only take a moment.

[Sheriff]

Listen to you on brace after you're in jail.

[Cisco Kid]

Hey, boys, get ready to run behind the house puncher. We are going to get away from

[Todd Walton]

this ponce, aren't we? Ready to give a punch. And I'd like to run.

[Sheriff]

Come on, boys, get the guns. Hold out your hands, you two. I'm handcuffing you together.

[Cisco Kid]

It's a fine idea, Senor Sheriff, but in this case, it will not work.

[Pancho]

Hey, come on, Pancho. Why don't you go push the sheriff right in the rest of the party?

[Sheriff]

I got to get up with my feet first.

[Pancho]

Yellow,

[Cisco Kid]

keep the house between them and us.

[Pancho]

Poncho, until we mount our horses. We're leaving your county for good. You really need the county.

[Cisco Kid]

He.

[Pancho]

No.

[Cisco Kid]

I wanted whoever is up on that hill to hear me, Pancho. Now we will make a big circle and go up on that hill.

[Chuck Crane]

And Ombre sure got away fast, Chuck.

[Todd Walton]

Yeah, and that posse ain't even bothering to follow.

[Chuck Crane]

You heard where that ombre yelled out about leaving the county. That's all the sheriff would have to hear to call off the chase. He don't like to work no more than he has to.

[Todd Walton]

He's still down there talking with Randy's old lady.

[Chuck Crane]

But the posse started back toward town.

[Todd Walton]

Now's our chance to get down there and talk to the sheriff. Todd, we'll ride in. Just if we're looking for them cowhides. Come on, let's go. Look, this goes two umbrellas right down to the place.

[Cisco Kid]

I see them, amigo. They are probably the ones who are up on this hill.

[Todd Walton]

But are they down there? What they do up here?

[Cisco Kid]

I'm looking for their tracks, Chico.

[Todd Walton]

If they aren't, it is just exactly

[Cisco Kid]

what I hope to find. Now we can ride down there and make that sheriff listen to us.

[Pancho]

Where the party, Cisco?

[Cisco Kid]

There is something I cannot tell you, Pancho, for I do not know. I saw no sign of them behind us yet. I cannot believe the Sheriff would have them give up the chase as easy as all this. Keep our eyes open now with the barras, Pancho.

[Sheriff]

Well, by thunder, if it ain't that blasted Cisco Kid again.

[Cisco Kid]

See, Sheriff? Do not reach for your gun, you hombres. Do not reach for yours.

[Sheriff]

You're the Cisco Kid.

[Chuck Crane]

I've heard so much about you, Sheriff.

[Cisco Kid]

These two are the hombres you want to question in connection with the murder of seorande.

[Todd Walton]

Hey, what are you talking about?

[Chuck Crane]

You better be mighty careful what you say, Cisco.

[Sarah Nestor]

I ain't so sure now. But Cisco's right, Sheriff. After these two coyotes accusing Randy of cattle rustling.

[Pancho]

Come on boys.

Open up.

Flame.

[Sheriff]

Will Cisco be back here?

[Pancho]

The plastic on the surroundings. Yeah, Chuck and me's helping the posse.

[Cisco Kid]

Do not draw that gun hom or I will have to shoot it out of your hand. Seora, you're right in the line of fire. Go to the house at once.

[Sarah Nestor]

I'm going.

[Pancho]

The G's go behind you. I'll get him for you.

Boom.

[Sheriff]

You bet you. Get them hands up. Well, it's worked out pretty well after all. Pretty well.

And so Cisco and Pancho become prisoners of the sheriff. In just a moment we return to the Cisco Kid.

Now back to the Cisco Kid in our exciting story Murder of a Nester. Shortly after Randy Moses nester on Willow Bend was shot and killed by Chuck Crane and Todd Walton, small time cattlemen and Rustleighs. Cisco and Poncho arrived to find Randy's body. Believing our friends guilty, Randy's wife Sarah summoned the sheriff, refused to listen to Cisco's story, but proceeded to try to put Cisco and Poncho under arrest. But Cisco and Pancho got away. Riding back later to confront the sheriff and the two cattlemen who are at the ranch to demand that the sheriff take action against Sarah. Apparently the sheriff had set a trap. The posse opened fire from a distance and the excitement. Cisco was gun whipped now.

[Pancho]

All right boys, hold your fire. Hold your fire.

[Sheriff]

On in we got these two. I Guess Cisco and his partner fell

[Cisco Kid]

for that trap all right.

[Todd Walton]

Rolled right into it.

[Sheriff]

I guess they'd be back here.

[Chuck Crane]

And I was right.

[Todd Walton]

You're a smart hombre, Sheriff dear.

[Pancho]

You a big smart hombre.

[Sheriff]

What you gonna do with him, Sheriff? Throw him in jail on suspicion of murder, that's what I'm gonna do.

[Chuck Crane]

Chuck and me could take care of them for you.

[Todd Walton]

Shut up, you fool. Good idea, Sheriff. Throw him in jail.

[Sarah Nestor]

Sheriff, I want you to listen to me. First, I thought Cisco was guilty, but now I ain't so sure.

He still ain't got any proof and won't have. Funny hombres all over this part of the country are out to get Cisco. Could have been a couple of them. And then Chuck, after we get Cisco, it'll be mighty easy to get rid of Randy Moses.

Now that we are all back here, Senor Sheriff, let us start all over again after you put the handcuffs on those two killers.

That is the giveaway as far as these killers are concerned. That and the bundle of cowhides they planted in the dugout. I am sure, senor Sheriff, that in half an hour's time I can convince you that these are the two hombres who murdered Senor Randy.

[Pancho]

Cisco, dear Poncho, can you finally believe those banditos guilty? No.

[Cisco Kid]

He finally did, Poncho. But then it is better to have a sheriff who does not change his mind too easily, who has ideas of his own.

[Pancho]
