Now the Cisco Kid in our exciting story Outlaw trail. Despite the vast reaches of the southwest of the 1870s, outlaws had certain trails they followed in escaping from the law. Certain territories in which they hid out. Law enforcement officers were quick to learn this. And so it is that hard bitten sheriff Dan Moley, a deputy and two men of a posse are riding along the river trail into the Gunstock Hills. A day out of the town of Apache Crossing. I sure hope your hunch is right, sheriff.

[Montana]

I figure it is.

[Narrator]

Yeah, but we ain't run across any tracks yet. Seems if we would by this time if them killers came this way.

[Montana]

Yeah. There's more than one trail into this country, deputy. Chances are them two took another one. But the trail's all meet up ahead.

[Narrator]

So you think that after they robbed the store and gunned down old Thompson, they let out for gun stock, huh?

Yeah.

[Montana]

George Hammond will most likely be prospecting somewhere around here. We run across him, we'll ask him if he's seen a couple of ombre as I pass.

[Narrator]

He's a plum unfriendly critter. George Hammond.

[Montana]

He'll answer my question, but I got a pretty good idea who. Bulldog that job. I got word two days ago that him and his partner are riding in this country.

[Narrator]

Who you talking about here?

[Montana]

The Cisco Kid. Let's be getting along. Get up. Get up. So we commit murder for a measly $92?

Ah, quit your belly again, Suggs. How did I know that was all the money the old buzzard had in the till?

[Montana]

I ain't kicking about the murder, Montana. I'm kicking because we didn't get more money.

Next time we'll make sure ahead of time how much money there's going to be in the job. I could use more money myself. Hey, wait a minute. It's like.

[Montana]

Boo. What do you see? Montana.

Get these glasses leveled.

[Poncho]

Yeah.

Somebody down there by the river? Yeah, it's a prospector. He's panning for gold.

[Montana]

Gold, huh? Maybe we better ride down there and call on him.

Wait a minute. Wait, Thunder. He is panning gold out of that river, Suggs. Well, look in his face. He's hit a rich.

[Montana]

Hey, look. Up in the bluff just beyond him, there's a couple of riders. Let me see them. Brash at Montana.

[Expedia Advertiser]

Okay.

[Montana]

Might be Sheriff Dan Moley. He's a sticker once he gets started, huh? No, it ain't him. Hey, your Cisco Kid and the fat one that's always with him, Cisco. And blast it all, they're riding will take them right down there with that prospector. Let's go down and get him on here.

Not me. I ain't mixing with that Cisco Kid at close quarters. I've seen him in action.

[Montana]

Yeah, but that goal, he'll get it.

We'll be smart about it. We both got rifles. We both know how to use them. All right, come on. Let's get down a little closer. Then we'll get all three of them easy.

[Montana]

For drinking water. Cisco. Robo. Say, Toasty. We'll be down at the river in a moment, Poncho. Then we can drink our fill. We fill our canteens, too. No, see, it was a hot ride across the desert, amigo. Very hot. From here to Apache Crossing, we can ride alongside the river. Where we ride to Apache Crossing, Cisco? Oh, just to see the town again, Chico. It's been a long time since we were there. Also to find out if the old storekeeper, Senor Thompson, got the money I left for those two boxes of cartridges. Do not pay the money to Senior Thompson, C. He was not in the store at the time. No one was there. So I took the two boxes and left the money on the counter along with a note of explanation. Ah, look ahead, Pancho. Someone's down at the river. Hunts for ghost. He's good. Hey, that is what he's doing. Water for you, Diablo. Help yourself. Help yourself, lobo. Nice day, senor. Nice day, senor. You got a good look? No.

[Narrator]

All right, that's near enough. What do you hombres want here?

[Montana]

We came to the river for water, senor.

[Narrator]

Well, you can go somewhere else on the river for your water. Now get out of here.

[Montana]

Be careful with your gun, hombre. You heard me. Get going. You do not own these rivers, senor. So Pancho and I will leave here when we are good and ready. Let us drink, Pancho. Yeah, we drink with one eye on that gonchisko. I said get out of here.

[Narrator]

In a minute.

[Montana]

Look how she's gonna careless of that gun, hombre. I will take it away from you, Madremer. What is this? Hombre Fall down. She's. Somebody shooted us, Cisco. Behind those rocks. Pancho, quickly. Yeah, quickly. Someone is shooting from up on that hill. One of their bullets hit the prospector. Who? The zombies up there? I have no idea, Pancho. They shoot at us or him? I would say they were shooting at the three of us, but I do not know for sure. The time being, we will stay right here behind these rocksco. Hey, let us be on our guard, amigo, huh? Uh oh. The sheriff in the deputy C school, say. And two other men. Keep your hands up. Sisco, you and your partner both. Put your guns on them, boys. As you wish, Senor Sheriff. Old Hammond did, huh? Gun down. I'll have a look at this. Gun on the shore. One bullet fired. What you got to say about this, Cisco? I have this to say, Sheriff. The bullet that killed him came from up on the hillside across this river. Yeah, from around the bend down river. Caught one glimpse of you and Hammond fighting. See, that is true. He tell us to go outside. We got a right to drink at the river and all.

[Narrator]

Keep em up, you two.

[Montana]

What about that store holder back in the Patrick Crossing? What about gunning down old man Thompson? We know nothing whatever about that, Sheriff. And how is it that old man Thompson told me more than once how you stole ammunition from him. That is not true. I left the money to pay for that ammunition. Cisco have the money.

[Narrator]

That's a mighty thin story if you ask me, Sheriff. Cisco here would cheat Thompson. He'd rob him and kill him.

[Montana]

Cisco not cheat nobody. Not rob nobody, not kill nobody. You are greatly mistaken, senor Sheriff. Pancho and I have not been in Apache Crossing for two years. And as for the death of this hombre here, I'm arresting you and your partner on suspicion of robbery and murder. What do we do, sister?

[Poncho]

Be ready to ride, Pancho.

[Montana]

I see. There's no use trying to convince you, Senor Sheriff. However, if you will take one look up on that hillside. No, Pancho. Now, Pancho. Too close. Continue. No, we cannot. No, p. We will not. We are going to stay and clear our names of that charge of murder.

Ah, that's mighty lucky for us, Suggs. Mighty lucky. I hadn't counted on that. On what? And the sheriff's riding into that setup down there. I saw the whole thing through these glasses.

[Montana]

He thinks Cisco got the prospector, huh?

[Expedia Advertiser]

He must. Anyway, he's riding after Cisco now.

[Montana]

Yeah, but what about this Montana? The sheriff was close enough to hear our rifle shots.

[Expedia Advertiser]

Yeah. Maybe he didn't hear him on account of the canyon walls. Maybe he was riding over rough ground. Or maybe the river rapids drowned out the shots. Anyway, he's after Cisco now, not us. This gives us a good chance to get that Cisco kit.

[Montana]

Come on.

[Expedia Advertiser]

Slide down to where that guy was prospecting.

[Montana]

Seems to me we ought to let well enough alone where Cisco's concerned. Come on, Mr. Kevin.

[Expedia Advertiser]

Look, Suggs, that Cisco Kid's smart. He's gonna hang around here now and find out what's going on.

[Montana]

Yes, Isaac.

[Expedia Advertiser]

Hurry up and listen, will you? As soon as he shakes off the sheriff, he's gonna ride back and look things over down there. Right then is when we dry gouge him and the other one. We'll hide their bodies and the sheriff will think they've skipped.

[Montana]

Listen, Pancho. Listen, Pancho.

[Poncho]

I think we've thrown out the pursuit, amigo.

[Montana]

Riding the beach circle sea scoop seeing for a while we rode in the shallows of the river so the sheriff would lose our tracks. Look back there, Poncho sheriff in the party rebox. He scoops, see? And they are on none of the trails. Now we can get back to the scene of that shooting. And not far from there. Now. Come on diagonal back to the shore, Sisko. See? Take one thing at a time, Pancho. First we find out what we can about the killing of the prospector. Then we find out about the murder of Senor Thompson. He said. I say, Senor Thompson, I'll get the money that you left with the cartridges. As much as said so, Chico. He's quite possible Senor Thompson did not. Someone may have come in and picked up the money and the note, see? You're saying that Thompson thinks we the bandidos. No? That is understandable. I should have waited and paid the money to him directly. What Pancho wanted Who fired those bullets in the hill? That is what I want to know too. That is what I'm going to know, if possible. Better go on the rest of the way on foot, Foncho. I there, Cisco. I think it would not be wise. Those hombres may have come down to the shore to find out the result of their shooting. If so, they may still be around here. Why don't you keep the eye open, Cisco? Keep both eyes open, chico. Both eyes open. All right, come on. Walk quietly, Cisco. Think these homies the ones that robbed the store and chasing your Thompson? I do not know.

[Poncho]

It's possible. Do you see any tracks ahead? No, I do not. Not as yet. Pancho, I may be mistaken about those umbrellies coming down here. Body of the prospector is lying just.

[Montana]

As it was before.

[Poncho]

Wait. Thought I saw a shadow move at the edge of those big rocks.

[Montana]

Down, Pancho. That's a dry gulches, Pancho. We'll see about that. Look out. She's going to shoot again. Watch it, son. Try to kill us, will you? Umbrella. Get away from Montana.

[Narrator]

Just what I'm aiming to do.

[Montana]

Ah, you, Montana and Suggs. I remember those names only. Yeah, you remember nothing. When I get through with you. It remains to be seen.

[Narrator]

Omri.

[Montana]

He's coming back. Just the right time FR to take the Aubrey to jail. I'm getting out of here, Montana. So am I. After them. Fighto the bull whip again.

[Poncho]

She's going to hurt.

[Montana]

Damn. Where you are, Cisco? You too. Fat one. Good. You could fat one. This time we mean business. Take just one step and we gun you both down.

[Poncho]

No, she's too far away, Pancho.

[Montana]

Sheriff. You saw those homies run away. Get them for questioning. You're the two I want. You're the two I got. But you can at least send two of your men after them, Sheriff. Madre mia, that is only the part of wisdom. Shut up. Deputy, you and Sam get down off your horses. Get these hombres guns and tie them up tight with that rawhide rope. Very well. Sheriff, why don't you and I will go with you. This time we have no choice. But I tell you, you are arresting the wrong one. I'll be the judge of that. You're a bad hombre, Cisco. And you're going to swing for these murder.

Now back to the Cisco Kids in our exciting story Outlaw Trail on their way to the town of Apache Crossing, Cisco and Poncho became innocently involved in the murder of a prospector by unseen gunman. Escaping from the sheriff and his posse, our friends circled back to the scene of the shooting and closed with the two killers, Montana and Suggs. Just then the sheriff returned and paying no attention to the real bandits, ordered Sisko and Pancho to throw up their hands.

[Montana]

Now tie them up good and tight, Jeff, you They sure will, Sheriff, if.

[Narrator]

They get their guns.

[Montana]

Sheriff, I tell you, you are making a big mistake. Those hombres who ran for their horses are the ones you want. Gee, you run after them, Sheriff. Oh, and let you two hombres get away again? Nothing beyond hold still now. We did not kill these prospector. We know nothing of the robbery and murder. That store in Apache Crossing. Might as well save your breath, Cisco. You're the ones I was after. And you're the ones I got. Go get the horses, deputy, and we'll start back for town.

[Expedia Advertiser]

We'll wait here for a minute, Suggs, and see what happens back there. You got some field glasses?

[Montana]

Yeah.

[Expedia Advertiser]

Now let me have them.

[Montana]

I don't see no point in stopping. You ask me, we'd ought to keep right on going.

[Expedia Advertiser]

I ain't asking you. Keep quiet. Well, they got Cisco and the other one pressed up like a couple of turkeys. I sure enjoy seeing that.

[Montana]

Mighty good thing for us, the sheriff think them two of the ghillie ones. Come on, let's Go.

[Expedia Advertiser]

I'll give the orders around here, Suggs.

[Montana]

But look, why don't we go get the gold at prospector work and get out of the country?

[Expedia Advertiser]

We'll attend to that in due time.

[Montana]

What are you planning now, Montana?

[Expedia Advertiser]

Look, you see this lump on my jaw, don't you? And this here black eye.

[Montana]

What about it?

[Expedia Advertiser]

That's Cisco's work. No man alive can hit El Montana like that and get away with it. Yeah, but that posse will have to make camp tonight. They can't make town for dark no matter how hard they ride. As soon as they're all asleep, I'm going into that camp.

[Montana]

But what for?

[Expedia Advertiser]

I'm going to kill that Cisco Kid.

[Montana]

Ah, you plumb crazy, Montana. They'll catch as sure.

[Expedia Advertiser]

Oh, no, they won't. I ain't gonna use a gun on Cisco. I'm gonna use this knife.

[Montana]

You're overplaying your luck.

[Expedia Advertiser]

I know what I'm doing. All right, come on. The ride's slow on the trail. It's only a couple hours till they'll make camp.

[Montana]

All right. You go ahead, Montana. Give me half the money from that store and I'll keep on going out of this country.

[Expedia Advertiser]

Oh, no, you don't. We're in this together, Suggs, and we'll stay together, you understand? I know.

[Montana]

Come on. I can throw some more wood on that camp high, Deputy.

[Narrator]

All right, Sheriff. Don't see much point in it, though. All going to turn in warm night.

[Montana]

Yeah, but might well have a better quarter ready when we get up in the morning.

[Narrator]

All right. There. That ought to keep it going, sir.

[Montana]

Take a look at the prisoners. Anything you hombres want for attorney? No, nothing, Sheriff. We want to be away from here, that's all. Yeah, wouldn't wonder. Come to think of it, there is one thing I would like Senior sheriff. Yeah? Well, what's that? I would like to be moved so my back is against that rock over there. Here I am lying on a tree root. Isn't that comfortable? All right. Give me a hand, Deputy.

[Narrator]

What's the matter, Sheriff?

[Montana]

Moving Cisco over so his back's against that rock. Move puncher, too. All right. Just a minute. Yeah, Flip the coffee. My thunder, you're heavy, Cisco. There. This all right. Say, Glasses.

[Narrator]

The other one will be heavier.

[Montana]

We have a cease form. Pass and ask to be here. Up with him, Deputy. Swear, I'd hate to have to lug this one a mile. Glasses. Glasses. You check that rawhide rope that ties them, Deputy.

[Narrator]

No, they won't get away, Sheriff.

[Montana]

Perhaps one of Your men had better stay awake, Senior Sheriff. Perhaps all of you better stay awake just to watch us. You paja sleepy pod. You can stay awake. Well, how do you feel now about confessing, Cisco? I cannot confess to something I did not do, Sheriff. We should have asked that four times now. Yeah, and I'm going to keep right on asking till you confess. Starting the first thing in the morning, you may ask. Until you are blue in the face, Sheriff, you will still get the same answer. The hombres you want are the hombres you let get away.

[Narrator]

He sure sticks to his story, Sheriff.

[Montana]

See, I do. He's the truth. Hey, you worrying? Come on, Deputy.

Let's get some sleep. There's that campfire up ahead, Suggs.

[Montana]

Yeah, I see it.

[Expedia Advertiser]

Yeah, Sheriff. And that possibly tired from riding and be rolled in their blankets by now.

[Montana]

Yeah, most likely.

[Expedia Advertiser]

You got a knife, ain't you?

[Montana]

Yeah.

[Expedia Advertiser]

All right, you take the fat one and I'll take Cisco.

[Montana]

Just one thing, Montana. What's the sheriff gonna say when he wakes up and finds out his prisoner's been murdered?

[Expedia Advertiser]

What's the difference what he says?

[Montana]

Plenty. He's gonna know somebody sneaked into camp and got him. He's gonna send out the alarm.

[Expedia Advertiser]

There's a deputy and two possums with him. How was he gonna know for sure? But what one of them got him. Well, anyway, by the time he wakes up, we'll be miles away, riding out of the country. All right, come on, Suggs. Be sure you make it good.

[Poncho]

Poncho is going to sleep and I wanted him to stay awake.

[Montana]

Poncho. Poncho.

[Poncho]

Mother of me. They can hear that snore a mile away. Look, I can move around enough to.

[Montana]

Poke him with a toe of my wake up noise.

[Poncho]

I tell you, keep your voice down.

[Montana]

What'd you do, sister? What did you do, huh?

[Poncho]

In another moment, your snoring would have awakened the whole camp. Now stay awake.

[Montana]

You're sleeping.

[Poncho]

You must stay awake. Few moments ago, two horsemen rode into the draw above us and stopped her. The sound carry here.

[Montana]

Who? The horse, Francisco.

[Poncho]

I do not know for sure. Probably the two hombres we had to fight with.

[Montana]

What they do up there? She's good.

[Poncho]
