Bart Hendrix was the sheriff in the nearby town of Lunar City. He also owned the restaurant which served as the sheriff's office. Between meals, his daughter Sally made the place attractive to the Topsy people. The girl looked up quickly when her father came in. Her face was flushed with excitement as she hurried past the table.

[The Lone Ranger]

S. Anything wrong?

[Sally Hendrix]

St. Parker was looking for you'd all excited. He wanted to tell you about Sam Dusty.

[The Lone Ranger]

What he know about that crew?

[Sally Hendrix]

Saw him.

Ain't Parker did? Yes, Dad. I don't trust Parker too far.

He'd have no reason to lie about this. He said that Sam Ducky and his gang were riding south on a lane horse clinic.

Now, Abner, you tell me all you can about the crooks who stole all your cash.

Three hours after Abner Grant had told his story to the sheriff, the suppertime crowd filled nearly every table of the restaurant. In one corner there were three townsmen named Macy, Tagard and Ross. No one suspected that these were three of the last men who had robbed Abner Grant. Macy was speaking to me. I was here when Grant was talking to the sheriff. He's convinced his gang that robbed it. He got nothing to worry about.

[The Lone Ranger]

Jagger, you sure know how to plan some things.

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

You boys follow my orders, we'll all be rich. Be careful you don't arouse suspicions by spending too much money.

[The Lone Ranger]

Sheriff has some kind of announcement. You hear anything about that nature?

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

Yeah. Paper doesn't come out till tomorrow, but the sheriff's got an advanced copy of him. Well, what would you say? Describe Sand. Dusky tells everyone to be on the lookout for himself.

[The Lone Ranger]

Now have some shorty stuff. Good idea. Hey, sir. Good evening. How. How are you?

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

Hey, Sheriff here. Sandusky's making more trouble. Yep.

And the Lone Ranger was there. Sandusky disappeared and dad, the Lone Ranger had an Indian stand named Charles. It's not a common name. Now, maybe the Indian who came here is the Lone Ranger friend.

I wouldn't know. I never saw that masked man's partner unless Unless he was the one who came in here today.

[Sally Hendrix]

Maybe after he left me with the food he met the lone range.

The lore had been in the restaurant wearing a disguise in place of his mask. He was waiting beside the great great horse Silver. When Sally and her father came out the kitchen door. When the moonlighted could be seen at the map was once more across his eyes and nose.

Then you did see the mystery. You knew didn't leave this cartridge.

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

Well, the fact is I wouldn't trust any one of them very far. If just Wanda told a story about being seduction, I might have taken it with a grain of salt. With so many reports, I reckon it must be the truth.

[Sally Hendrix]

Or Abner Grant would tell the truth. I could take his word anytime.

Yeah. Anyhow, why would anyone lie about seeing that out there.

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

That's what I'd like to know. How many were in Sandusky's gang?

Six, counting the leaders. Same as there were the last time they were in these parts.

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

Sheriff, the last time I talked to you, I was trying to get that gang.

Vandusky and all five members of his gang that have been dead for the last two months. After leaving the sheriff and his daughter, the Lone Ranger hurried to his camp near town where Tata was waiting. Briefly he summarized what he had learned while Alado saddled his horse. The sheriff couldn't believe it when I told him that Sandusky's men were dead. Oh, why him have doubts, G. Sandusky has been seen and identified by several men in town. Oh, that's not true. In the sheriff gave me the names of four men whose square they've seen Said Andusky. Maybe they make mistakes. No one could make that kind of a mistake then. Thus he had a face no one could forget. Who claimed to the thief four men. I have their names. I learned where they can be found. Two of them, Macy and Ross, are in the restaurant. The others are named Parker and Clive. Parker's house is nearest. We'll go to there first. What we do there?

[The Lone Ranger]

Ask questions?

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

No, no, Tado. I have another plan. I'll tell you about it on the way. Good. Let's go. The Max man and train near a small house at one end of the town's main street. Where Parker lives? Yes.

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

Now wait, Ross, you're wrong.

I didn't send anyone. I get your lie. I'm telling you.

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

That masked man shot us. Thought that for sure, didn't you, Ross? When you see Parker and Clive are tied and gagged in my house, Macy is fixed the same way. That man didn't shoot Macy.

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

Me and the boys were in that room. And when Macy was shoved in, we grabbed him. I thought he was killed.

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]

You thought I was playing the double cross game.

[The Lone Ranger]

So you came here and shot your mouth off just as you were supposed to do. Get mask lamp. Oh, I could just get another shot. No, he's leaving anyway.

[Sheriff Bart Hendrix]
