Usually United States Marshal Wild Bill Hickok and his big deputy, Jingles hunted the most dangerous game in the Old West. The bad men who preyed on the honest settlers and ranchers. But once in a while, they went after other game. And they found excitement and danger on the trail of the grizzly bear.
Jingles
Been a long time since I was up here in the White Mountains, Bill.
Wild Bill Hickok
It sure is nice country. Lots of trees, plenty of water and some mighty fine hunting back in here.
Jingles
That's just what's wrong with it. Last time I was here, I was on a hunting trip. And I'm the one that got shot.
Wild Bill Hickok
How'd that happen?
Jingles
Well, I crawled into a cave and when I was backing out again, I met a porcupine that was coming in.
Wild Bill Hickok
Oh, so that's it.
Jingles
Yeah, but this time we're not hunting porcupine.
Wild Bill Hickok
Not this trip. This time we're after grizzly bear.
Jingles
Yeah, that's not so bad. Grizzly bears. Oh, now, Bill, you know I don't like those big varmints.
Wild Bill Hickok
Why not?
Jingles
Oh. Cause they're big and tough and mean. And why, they'd just as soon tear your head off with one of those big paws to look at you.
Wild Bill Hickok
The trick is to keep from getting that close, Jingles.
Bartisian Advertiser
Yeah.
Jingles
Anywhere in the same county is too close for me. How come we're taking time off to go hunting?
Wild Bill Hickok
We're not. Sunshine Smith asked us to come up and help him kill a big grizzly that's been raiding his cattle herd.
Jingles
That's a new excuse. He's always got some kind of trouble to worry about.
Wild Bill Hickok
That's why they call him Sunshine. He worries about everything.
Jingles
Yeah.
Wild Bill Hickok
Well, come on, Jingles. Let's get there before suppertime.
Jingles
Now you're talking. Move out, Joker. Let's.
Sunshine Smith
Hope you had enough to eat, Jingles. Because if you haven't, I better send the cook out the meat seller for another side of beef.
Jingles
No, don't do that, Sunshine. I guess I'm about full now.
Sunshine Smith
Well, thank heaven for that. I had visions of going broke.
Wild Bill Hickok
Jingles has been eating kind of light on the trail. He's making up for it now.
Sunshine Smith
Sunshine don't see how you pack enough grub for him without trailing the pack mule to toad.
Jingles
Oh, now, I don't eat so much. I. Hey, what was that?
Wild Bill Hickok
Sort of an uproar down there by the corral. Come on.
Sunshine Smith
It sounds like that big bear again.
Jingles
Well, now, don't tell me that grizzly comes right up here to the house.
Sunshine Smith
Yeah, pretty near. He's killed a couple of calves from the pen down there.
Wild Bill Hickok
That's a bear, all right. But he's heading off into the woods.
Jingles
Well, let him go. I ain't trailing no grill these through these trees in the dark.
Sunshine Smith
Yeah, maybe Jingles is right. But I sure hate to let that big hunk of trouble get away with this.
Wild Bill Hickok
Here's your calf pen. Let's see what he's done. Quite a match, will you, Jingles?
Jingles
Yeah, as soon as I stop puffing.
Sunshine Smith
Well, look at that. Busted down the fence and smacked her yearling steer deader than a doornail.
Jingles
I told you them beast was just as big and tough as anything.
Wild Bill Hickok
We scared him off right after that. Hey, take a look at those tracks.
Jingles
He must be the granddaddy of all the grizzlies.
Wild Bill Hickok
He's a big one, all right.
Sunshine Smith
And now what do we do?
Jingles
I don't know what you're going to do, but I'm going back to the house and lock the door. And then I'm going to crawl into that feather bed and sleep till daylight.
Sunshine Smith
Yeah, but what about the bear?
Jingles
Oh, let him sleep where he wants to.
Wild Bill Hickok
Jingles is right, sunshine. Hunting him through those woods in the dark would be mighty dangerous.
Sunshine Smith
Yeah. Yes, maybe you're right. But I sure hate to see him get away.
Guy Madison
Hey.
Sunshine Smith
Hey, wait a minute.
Jingles
Now what?
Sunshine Smith
Now, where's Oli? I haven't heard a peep out of him.
Wild Bill Hickok
Who's Oli?
Sunshine Smith
In one of the hands. I had him guarding these pens with a shotgun.
Jingles
I didn't hear any shooting or any yelling or nothing but the bear and those cows.
Wild Bill Hickok
Let's have a look around.
Sunshine Smith
Wait a minute. There's a lantern hanging on one of those posts.
Jingles
There's a match.
Sunshine Smith
Oh, he's a good man. Hope nothing's happened to him.
Jingles
You go ahead and hope, but I don't think it's going to do much good.
Wild Bill Hickok
I don't think so either.
Jingles
Bill. Look over there.
Wild Bill Hickok
Yeah. Hold the lantern up high, sunshine.
Sunshine Smith
That Ollie, it sure is.
Wild Bill Hickok
Turn him over easy, Jingle.
Jingles
Something hit him awful hard, Bill.
Wild Bill Hickok
Yeah, looks like he might have some broken ribs, but he's still alive. Come on, let's get him up at the house.
Jingles
Now you can see why I don't want to tangle with a grizzly bear. Never.
Sunshine Smith
Hey, what's that?
Wild Bill Hickok
Shots from the house.
Bartisian Advertiser
Come on.
Sunshine Smith
Now, what's that for? And who in the heck is doing the shooting?
Jingles
Well, there's one thing for sure, it ain't the be.
Guy Madison

Things happened fast at the ranch of Sunshine Smith. A grizzly bear attacked the cattle pens while Bill and Jingles found only the hired hand with his side smashed. A tremendous blow. And as they stopped to help him, a volley of shots was heard from the ranch house.
Sunshine Smith
Chico's the only one in the house. He was washing dishes when we left.
Wild Bill Hickok
He could be doing the shooting.
Jingles
Yeah, but I never knew a cook that could shoot with a darn well.
Sunshine Smith
I want to know why he was shooting.
Jingles
Well, he'll know in a hurry. I've done so much running I'm getting hungry again.
Sunshine Smith
Oh, no, none of that. I got enough trouble now. Chico. Chico. Here I am, Senor Smith.
Chico
Did you got him?
Jingles
Huh?
Sunshine Smith
Did we get who? What's going on? The bear. The bear.
Chico
I shot him through the head. Right through the window.
Jingles
Oh, now, simmer down. You ain't making sense. Did you shoot him through the head or through the window?
Wild Bill Hickok
You're the one who's excited, Jean.
Jingles
No.
Wild Bill Hickok
What Happened, Chico?
Chico
Oh, that big bear. He come to the window and he look in. Boy, he was 9, 10, 20ft tall. I grabbed the rifle and bing, bang, I shoot him right to the head.
Jingles
Then what?
Chico
Hey, the bear, he's not stopped. He reached to the window and took the box off of the table.
Sunshine Smith
The box? What box?
Chico
The tin box, Senor Smith.
Sunshine Smith
My strong box with the cattle money in it.
Wild Bill Hickok
The bear did this?
Sunshine Smith
Oh, see?
Chico
Then bing, bang, boom, again. I shot him right in the head. But he ran away in the night.
Jingles
Doggone. Now, that's too bad, Bill. A nice feller like Chico just going plum loco.
Sunshine Smith
Just like Bill. That strong box had all the money in it that I just got for my shipment of cattle. $12,000.
Wild Bill Hickok
Now, wait a minute. Something's local here, but I don't think it's Chico.
Jingles
Bill, bears don't steal cattle money. And when you shoot them five times in the head, they don't run away.
Wild Bill Hickok
Yeah, I know that, Chico. You sure you hit him in the head?
Chico
Maybe I missed once or two times. But, boy, I hit him sometimes. I told you, I see his head jerk from the bullets.
Jingles
Oh, I don't believe it. I never saw a cook that could shoot good enough to hit a whole bear, let alone his head.
Chico
But, Senor Jingles, he was right here in this window.
Wild Bill Hickok
It's pretty hard to miss with a rifle at 10ft. Chico must have hit him at least a couple of times.
Sunshine Smith
Yeah, and if he did, there ought to be a dead bear outside.
Geico Advertiser
Come on.
Jingles
I still say bears don't steal money.
Chico
With my own eyes, I see him.
Sunshine Smith
Come around here by the window. We'll soon find out.
Wild Bill Hickok
Hold that lantern up high, Jingles.
Jingles
Don't worry. I want to see what I'm running into just as bad as you do.
Sunshine Smith
All right. Here we are.
Jingles
Don't see any dead grizzlies.
Wild Bill Hickok
No, but I see some footprints.
Sunshine Smith
Those or they aren't bear tracks.
Wild Bill Hickok
No, they're cowboy boots. Here's where he stood and looked in the window. And here's where he stepped up on his right foot and reached through to get the money.
Jingles
See? I told you so.
Sunshine Smith
How about that, Chico? You still sure it was a bear, Senor Smith?
Chico
I'm absolutely sure.
Jingles
I hate to say this, Chico, because you're a real good cook. But that story of yours just don't make sense.
Sunshine Smith
I begin to think so, too.
Wild Bill Hickok
Wait a minute now.
Jingles
What'd you find, Bill?
Wild Bill Hickok
Right here. Caught in a splinter. Yeah?
Sunshine Smith
What is it?
Wild Bill Hickok
A little patch of gray fur.
Jingles
Gray fur?
Wild Bill Hickok
Yeah, and it Looks to me like the hair off of a grizzly bear.
Jingles
Now, just a doggone.
Chico
You see, I knew I was right. Senoros. It was a bear.
Jingles
Oh, sure. A great big ten foot grizzly bear.
Sunshine Smith
Wearing cowboy boots with my cattle money tucked under his yard.
Jingles
And with five bullet holes in his head.
Wild Bill Hickok
Well, if that's what we're after, it ought to be easy to find.
Jingles
Sure, there can't be many of those. Oh, now stop it, Bill. This is serious.
Wild Bill Hickok
Sure it is, Jingles. What do you say we get Dolly in the house and see how badly he's hurt? Maybe he can shed some light on this mystery.
Jingles
Well, good morning, everybody. Breakfast already?
Sunshine Smith
Morning, Jingles. Chico's fixing it for you.
Wild Bill Hickok
Hiya, Jingles. You sound like you feel real good this morning.
Jingles
Oh, I do, Bill. That's the finest feather bed I've been in for years.
Sunshine Smith
Feathers didn't do me any good. I didn't sleep a wink worrying about that dad burned grizzly bear.
Jingles
Hey, now, that's right. I forgot about him. How's Oli this morning?
Wild Bill Hickok
Pretty good. His ribs aren't broken, but he sure got smacked hard. I talked to him for a while, but now he's going to sleep again.
Sunshine Smith
We took another look at the cattle pen, Jingles. No boot tracks down there. That was a bear and a big one.
Jingles
And you figured the bear smacked Ollie down?
Wild Bill Hickok
He must have. Oli says he doesn't remember a thing until he woke up in the house.
Jingles
Yeah.
Chico
Here is your breakfast, Senor Jingle.
Jingles
Thank you. Thank you, Chico. Little nourishment in the morning and I can think better.
Wild Bill Hickok
I've been doing some thinking too, Jingle.
Jingles
On an empty stomach.
Wild Bill Hickok
Yeah. Oh, There's a bear after those cattle. And it was a man that stole the money.
Sunshine Smith
So now I got two things to worry about instead of one.
Wild Bill Hickok
That's right. So we'll split up, Sunshine and I'll try to trail the man who got the money.
Jingles
Now that's a good idea. Now but Bill, that leaves me to go after the bear.
Wild Bill Hickok
That's the idea, partner.
Jingles
But I don't like bears.
Sunshine Smith
Oh, now, don't worry, Jingles. I'll send Blackie with you.
Jingles
Blackie? Now, who's that?
Sunshine Smith
He's a new hand. Been with us a couple of weeks.
Jingles
Oh, well, what should I do, Bill?
Wild Bill Hickok
That grizzly probably follows the same trail to the cattle pen. You and Blackie go set a trap for him.
Jingles
What kind of a trap?
Wild Bill Hickok
Take a bear pit and cover it over with branches. When he comes down the trail, he'll fall into It.
Jingles
Well, sounds like it might work.
Sunshine Smith
Yeah, Best way there is to catch bears, Jingles. Meantime, me and Bill can try to find out whoever it was that scared Chico last night and got away with the money.
Jingles
Well, just pile on a few more branches, Blackie, and we'll have the slickest bear trap that was ever built.
Chico
It's a lot of darn foolishness, if you ask me. I suppose that grizzly is going to jump in here and trap himself.
Jingles
Well, that's the idea. Now, put a few leaves on top of the branch.
Chico
Oh, it's good enough where it is. Look, I got to get out of here. I got things to do.
Jingles
No. Now, this won't take long.
Chico
I'll hurry it up, will you? Hey, what are Smith and Hickok up to? They went hightailing it out of the corral in an awful hurry this morning.
Jingles
No, they're trailing the man or the bear. Well, whatever it was, it scared Chico and stole the cattle money last night.
Chico
They are which way they go now?
Jingles
How do I know which way they went? They picked up the trail outside the kitchen window and wherever it went, they went. Well, now, there's the trap. All finished.
Chico
All right, I'll see you later.
Jingles
Jingles.
Chico
Got a ride down trail, check on a couple of things.
Wild Bill Hickok
Steady, boy.
Jingles
Oh, wait a minute till I pick up these tools and I'll be with you.
Chico
Oh, no, I'll go alone. See you later.
Jingles
Hey. Hey, wait now. Come back. Oh, doggone. Now what's got into him all of a sudden? Leaving me with all these tools to lug back to the ranch. Oh, shut up, Joker. Don't you go and get in a hurry, too. And stop jumping around. Doggone it. You act like you was scared or something. Hey, something's coming through the trees. The grizzly. My rifle's slung on the saddle. Joker, hold still till I get my rifle. Dad blame it. Forgot about that bear trap. Now, how am I going to get out of here? Now, don't you come down here, you big ball of fur. There ain't room for both of us. What'll I do if I shoot him with a six gun, I'll just make him mad. And if I don't shoot him, he's liable to jump in this hole right on top of me. Go, Bill.

Jingle Surprise by a tremendous grizzly bear fell into the pit trap he had just dug to catch the bear. Meantime, Bill and Sunshine Smith, the ranch owner, have been following the trail of the bandit who made off with the cattle money the night before.
Sunshine Smith
Well, we found where that robber stopped, but we still don't know where it went. Or where my money went.
Wild Bill Hickok
I thought you knew your ranch better than that, Sunshine.
Sunshine Smith
What do you mean, Bill?
Wild Bill Hickok
Can't you see where the trail's taken us?
Sunshine Smith
Well, let me see. Well, I'll be. Dad burned. We're heading right back from a home corral.
Wild Bill Hickok
We sure are. Whoever stole the money, took off into the woods, hit them to cash box in the hollow tree where we found it, and then headed back toward your ranch.
Sunshine Smith
Yep. And you know what that means?
Wild Bill Hickok
It means one of the men working for you might have been the robber. We haven't got any proof yet.
Sunshine Smith
I think maybe we have.
Wild Bill Hickok
Hey, wait a minute.
Sunshine Smith
Hey, watch up, Bill.
Wild Bill Hickok
I just saw a rider heading up this way through the trees. Come on, get back in the woods till he sees what it is.
Sunshine Smith
Get around here, boy. Get around.
Wild Bill Hickok
All right, back, Chuck.
Sunshine Smith
Now, who'd be riding up through here?
Wild Bill Hickok
I don't know.
Sunshine Smith
Hold that, boy. Hold. You reckon this might be the man we're trailing, Bill?
Wild Bill Hickok
I don't think so. He's heading the wrong way.
Sunshine Smith
Yeah, I'm gonna keep my gun in my hand just in case.
Wild Bill Hickok
All right. Here he comes.
Sunshine Smith
Hey, Bill, that's Blackie. I thought he was with Jingles. Hey. Hey, Blackie.
Jingles
Hold it.
Sunshine Smith
Who is that?
Jingles
Oh. Oh.
Chico
Hello, boss. What are you and Hickok doing out here?
Sunshine Smith
Yeah, we've been.
Wild Bill Hickok
We're just on our way back to the ranch. Blackie. Where's Jingles?
Chico
I left him after we finished the bear trap. Guess he went back in. You two find anything?
Sunshine Smith
This thing slung on the back of my saddle ain't no papoose, worm.
Chico
Look at that grizzly bear's head.
Wild Bill Hickok
Yeah, look at the holes in it, Sunshine. And I finally got the bear that's been after his cap.
Sunshine Smith
Hey, but, Billy.
Chico
Yeah, but that's the stuff. Bears head.
Sunshine Smith
That?
Wild Bill Hickok
Yeah. What else, Blackie?
Chico
I mean, it looks just like the one. The one that used to hang in the bunkhouse. Fool me for a minute. What's that?
Sunshine Smith
Hey, Bill. Hear those shots? Somebody's in trouble.
Wild Bill Hickok
Yeah, it's on down the trailer ways. Let's go. It might be jingled.
Sunshine Smith
Get up there, Blackie.
Wild Bill Hickok
You're right out in front where I can watch you. And don't try anything funny until I get a chance to ask you some questions. What for?
Chico
I ain't done nothing.
Wild Bill Hickok
I said right out in front. I want to find out what you know about this stuffed bear head in an empty cash box. Where'd you set that bear trap, Lucky?
Chico
Just around the next turn.
Wild Bill Hickok
Was Jingle still there when you left?
Chico
Yeah, but he wouldn't be there now. Yeah, there's a trap.
Sunshine Smith
Hey, Bill, there's that big grizzly.
Wild Bill Hickok
Yeah, and he sees it.
Sunshine Smith
Whoa, there. Oh, I'll get that no good cattle.
Wild Bill Hickok
Put out that six gun. You'll never stop him with that.
Sunshine Smith
Oh. Oh, yeah.
Wild Bill Hickok
Use both arrivals and don't miss.
Jingles
Look out. He's gonna charge us. Let him have it. He's still coming.
Bartisian Advertiser
Shoot him.
Sunshine Smith
My guns, Jamie.
Jingles
Get him, Bill.
Sunshine Smith
Yeah. Yeah, that did it. Thanks, Bill.
Wild Bill Hickok
It took plenty of lead. I just got in the last shot.
Jingles
Hey.
Sunshine Smith
Help.
Jingles
What's going on?
Wild Bill Hickok
Listen.
Jingles
Help. Get me out of here.
Wild Bill Hickok
That's Jingles. Sound like he's over there by that bear trap.
Sunshine Smith
Yeah. Come on.
Wild Bill Hickok
You're coming too, Blackie.
Chico
All right, all right. But I ain't done nothing.
Wild Bill Hickok
Here.
Sunshine Smith
Shut them crash through the top of that trap, Bill.
Wild Bill Hickok
Sure looks that way.
Sunshine Smith
Well, look at there. We just shot one grizzly bear and here's another in the trap.
Jingles
Well, that's real funny, that is. Now get me out of here right now, Sunshine Smith or I won't give you back one cent of your cattle money.
Sunshine Smith
Cattle money? Jingles, don't tell me that you.
Jingles
I didn't steal. Your dad burned money. I had Blackie's poncho on my arms when I fell in here and it busted open and all the money come out.
Wild Bill Hickok
Oh, there, Blackie. You're not going anywhere.
Jingles
Is that signed Whitener up there, Bill? I want to talk to him about running off and leaving me face to face with a grizzly.
Wild Bill Hickok
He's up here all right, Jingles. And on Sunshine's saddle is a stuffed bear head that he used to scare Chico with last night when he stole the money.
Sunshine Smith
Yeah, he figured while we were out chasing the bear and finding Oli, he'd make off with the cash.
Chico
Oh, well, you couldn't approve the thing if I hadn't got excited about your being on my trail and left that poncho here with jingles.
Wild Bill Hickok
Trucks like you usually get excited, Blackie.
Jingles
Well, stop jabbering about it and get me out of this bear trap.
Wild Bill Hickok
All right, partner. Better take Blackie's gun away from him, Sunshine.
Chico
You're not taking nothing.
Sunshine Smith
You're crazy trying to draw on Hickok, Blackie.
Wild Bill Hickok
Tie up his arm, Sunshine. And you might as well rope him up while you're at it.
Jingles
Now, what's going on? I'm down in this hole where I can't see nothing and all you do is shoot and holler and carry on up there.
Wild Bill Hickok
All right, all right. Keep your shirt on, Jingles. Yeah? Grab my rope and I'll help you out.
Jingles
Oh, that's better. I was beginning to think I missed a few meals before anybody found me.
Wild Bill Hickok
Speaking of meals, Jingles, how many bullet holes do you think were in that stuffed bear's head when we found it?
Jingles
The one Chico was shooting at last night? No, I'll say three.
Wild Bill Hickok
There were five. Chico hit it every time.
Jingles
Well, what do you know, Bill? We finally found a man who's a good cook and a good shop too. Hey, let's make him a deputy and take him along with us. Man like that would be real handy to have around.

Podcast Information:
In this episode of the Old Time Radio Westerns podcast, host Andrew Rines presents a thrilling adventure from the Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok series. The story, titled "The Trail of the Grizzly Bear," features the legendary Wild Bill Hickok, portrayed by Guy Madison, and his trusty deputy, Jingles, voiced by Andy Devine. Set against the rugged backdrop of the Old West, this episode delves into a suspense-filled quest to protect Sunshine Smith's cattle from a menacing grizzly bear, only to uncover deeper mysteries lurking in the shadows.
[02:05] The episode kicks off with Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy, Jingles, responding to a distress call from Sunshine Smith, a ranch owner troubled by a grizzly bear attacking his cattle. Despite Jingles' apprehension about hunting bears—a sentiment rooted in his previous mishap with a porcupine—the duo sets out to address the threat.
[05:10] Upon arriving at Sunshine Smith's ranch, they survey the damage left by the bear: a broken fence and a slain steer. As they investigate, Jingles recounts an encounter where he allegedly shot a massive grizzly bear five times, yet no carcass is found—a discrepancy that raises Wild Bill’s suspicions.
[09:33] The plot thickens when Chico, the ranch's cook, arrives with a mysterious bear head and insists that he successfully shot the bear. However, Wild Bill remains unconvinced, pointing out the lack of physical evidence and the implausibility of Jingles' story. This leads the trio to discover inconsistencies in the narratives presented.
[14:27] As tensions escalate, Wild Bill deduces that the bear attacks might be a cover for a more nefarious scheme—possibly involving someone within Sunshine Smith’s own ranks. The investigation reveals that the supposed bear might actually be a human culprit exploiting the situation to steal cattle money.
[17:54] In a dramatic turn of events, Jingles attempts to trap the bear with Chico’s hastily constructed bear pit. The trap unexpectedly ensnares Jingles instead, heightening the stakes and urgency of the situation.
[20:19] Tracking the trail leads Wild Bill and Sunshine Smith to suspect that Chico may be the orchestrator behind the thefts. Confrontations ensue, culminating in the revelation that Chico had manipulated events to divert attention and steal the cattle money, all while masquerading his actions as bear attacks.
[25:00] The episode concludes with the apprehension of Chico, whose deceit is uncovered through the accumulated evidence and Wild Bill's sharp instincts. Wild Bill considers Chico's skills valuable, hinting at his potential role as a deputy, thereby restoring peace and order to Sunshine Smith's ranch.
Wild Bill Hickok (Guy Madison): The stoic and astute U.S. Marshal whose keen observation skills drive the investigation forward. He remains skeptical of Jingles' accounts, showcasing his leadership and determination to uncover the truth.
"I don't think so either." ([11:12])
Jingles (Andy Devine): The affable and somewhat bumbling deputy whose stories add both humor and mystery to the narrative. His conflicting accounts serve as a catalyst for the unfolding drama.
"Bears don't steal money." ([11:57])
Sunshine Smith: The anxious ranch owner whose cattle are under threat. His constant worries and interactions with Wild Bill and Jingles highlight the pressures faced by those in the Old West.
"That's why they call him Sunshine. He worries about everything." ([04:54])
Chico: The cook whose actions are central to the plot's mystery. Initially appearing as a victim, his true motives are revealed through careful investigation.
"I shot him through the head. Right through the window." ([10:17])
Initial Assignment and Apprehension
"I don't like those big varmints." ([04:20])
Discovery of Inconsistencies
"Bears don't steal cattle money. And when you shoot them five times in the head, they don't run away." ([11:16])
The Trap and Escalation
"There ain't room for both of us." ([16:09])
Revelation of Deceit
Wild Bill confronts Chico with evidence:
"Where'd you set that bear trap, Lucky?" ([22:00])
Chico's admission and Wild Bill's conclusion:
"Bulls like you usually get excited, Blackie." ([24:15])
"The Trail of the Grizzly Bear" masterfully intertwines suspense, humor, and classic Western motifs to deliver an engaging narrative. Through sharp dialogue and character dynamics, the episode not only entertains but also underscores themes of trust, deception, and justice inherent to the Wild West era. Wild Bill Hickok's unwavering pursuit of the truth ultimately restores harmony, leaving listeners with a satisfying resolution.
