Narrator
A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust and a hearty high O Silver the Lone Ranger.
The Lone Ranger
Sam.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Este cuatro de Julio and loves. Sharp Royal Performance Series Ahora dosientos noventa y nueve dolares Nuestra Mejor Selection.
Narrator
Wild horses roamed the mesas in the early days of the western United States, and wranglers made a good living catching them and breaking them to the saddle. But the rough and broken country also gave protection to bands of outlaws, and it was above the rim rock that the Lone Ranger met some of his most exciting adventures. Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear. From out of the past come the thundering hoof beats of the great horse Silver. The Lone Ranger rides again.
Tonto
We're heading for Crooked Canyon Sound waiting for us.
Narrator
Pete Lacy and Pedro Martinez were building a corral across the canyon that sloped from the mesa to the valley. It was a makeshift affair. Stakes had been driven in the ground and ropes strung between them. Then rags had been tied to the ropes. But driving the stakes was hard work, and Pedro complained.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
This is no work for Pedro Martinez de Javadi Runega Seems to me that
Pete
I'm the guy with a sledgehammer. All you're doing is hold mistake.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Every time you hit, it hurts my hand. Next take will be my turn with the hammer.
Pete
We don't need another one. This open at the upper end has to be Big, so the horses won't shy away from it.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
You make it too big, they will turn around and come right out again.
Pete
No, they won't. We'll get rope strung across the open prado.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
I hope you know your business. There are many fine horses up there on the mesa. But they are as well as the antelope.
Narrator
How can rope and rag stop him?
Pete
Just look at that lower fence. The rags are flooded in the breeze. Those wild mustangs will be scared of them. That fence is just as good as if it was six foot tall. And me, the doobie.
Red
Senor, we are visitor.
Pete
Oh, yeah. Coming down the canyon, a couple of them.
Red
Yes, There is something on their face
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
that Pedro does not like. You'll give him a gun? No.
Pete
The Lone Ranger gave me strict orders. I don't let you carry a gun unless I'm sure you need it.
Dan Miller
What do you two think you're doing?
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
I am sure.
Pete
So am I. Answering me. We're building the corral. What's it look like?
Dan Miller
What's the idea?
Pete
We aim to catch you some horses. Break them and sell them to the army.
Dan Miller
All those horses on the Mason belong to me.
Pete
Your name happened to be Uncle Sam.
Dan Miller
I'm Dan Miller and I own the Sickle M ranch. All the cattle grazing up in the mesa are mine.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
But we do not go after cattle. We go after the horses.
Dan Miller
They're mine, too.
Pete
We've had a look at them, mister. They don't carry any brand. And the law says I make the
Dan Miller
laws for this rage. Besides, I don't believe you be driving my steers into that corral.
Pete
If we want to rustle your beef, we wouldn't bother with no corral. There's plenty of box canyons we could drive them into and change the brand.
Dan Miller
Sure. You know how it's done, eh? Sure.
Pete
I've hunted rustlers in my time.
Dan Miller
Well, your time ain't gonna last long around here. Give me a knife, Red.
Red
Yeah.
Dan Miller
I'm gonna cut these ropes and then I'm going to.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
You'll not make a move. Senor. Pedro Martinez de Salvador gave you cover.
Dan Miller
It's your fancy name for a gunman.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
It is my own name, and I am not a gunman.
Pete
I guess everybody's got a right to protect this property. You see, a corral belongs to us. Just like the cattle on the mesa belongs to you. We're going to give anybody who touches the same kind of treatment you'd give rustlers.
Dan Miller
I've been losing steers for the last month.
Pete
Don't look at Us? We just got here day before yesterday.
Dan Miller
I'll give you a warning. If you don't get out of this country in 24 hours, I'm giving orders to men to drive you out.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
And they will know they have been in a fight, senor.
Pete
And if it's a fight you want, we're ready for it.
Dan Miller
Your mood, rich Jeep.
Pete
All right, Pedro, give me the gun back.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Oh, no, Pete. We will not always be together. And the gun stays with me.
Pete
But the mask.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Man that I was to have a gun only when I needed it. That will be all the time from now on.
Pete
Uhhuh. I guess maybe you're.
Dan Miller
Breeze moving on this mesa without getting leave for me.
Red
It's open range, Dan.
Dan Miller
I'll drive him out if it's the last thing you do.
Red
It might be.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Yeah.
Red
They could have the sheriff put you in jail.
Dan Miller
He's 50 miles away.
Red
That's only a day's ride. Wouldn't it be better to keep on the right side of the law?
Dan Miller
What do you mean?
Red
The Texan said a man's got a right to protect his property. That applies to you just as much as it does to them. If they was to come to the home ranch a gunning for you, well, the sheriff ain't gonna say nothing about shooting in self defense.
Dan Miller
But they won't come to the home ranch.
Red
Sure they would if something was to happen to that corral. Just give me the word, boss, and I'll mess it up a little tonight. You don't have to worry about the gun fighting. When they start making trouble, me and the boys will take care of it.
Dan Miller
I'll fight my own battles. I'll get an even draw.
Red
Yeah, but two of them.
Dan Miller
There's two of us. That's enough.
Red
Shall I going to take care of the corral tonight?
Dan Miller
We'll take care of them upstairs tomorrow.
Narrator
That night, the Lone Ranger and Toto were riding up another canyon to the west. Unlike the one where Pete and Pedro had built their corral, the walls were broken here and there by smaller box canyons. And it was at the entrance of one of these the masked man reigned
The Lone Ranger
up t. You hear cattle? They seem to be in here. We better take a look.
Tato
You think maybe something wrong?
The Lone Ranger
Well, it's easy to understand how steers might wander down from the mesa. There's plenty of grass and water in these box canyons. But if they're circle M cattle, they're a long way from home.
Tato
That's right, Tado. What you find, you can see for yourself.
The Lone Ranger
Someone's Built a fence across the opening of this canyon. They've turned it into a natural corral.
Tato
Miller not do this?
The Lone Ranger
Of course not. There's only one answer, and that's rustlers.
Tato
You go inside. Yes.
The Lone Ranger
Hello.
Tato
I want to look at the cattle Now. Come to open gates.
The Lone Ranger
There's some just ahead.
Tato
Maybe them try to get out gate.
The Lone Ranger
I don't think so.
Tato
You want light?
The Lone Ranger
We could use some.
Pete
Here.
Tato
Pine splinter onto a make torch.
The Lone Ranger
Good idea. Wait. You don't have to light that. Just hold the match over closer to this deer. The brand's been changed with a running iron. And not very long ago.
Tato
You want me to light out the match?
The Lone Ranger
We found out all we need to know. Rustlers are driving Circle M steers down here and changing their brands. They keep them here until the brands are healed and they drive them on down into the valley.
Tato
We pine rustler.
The Lone Ranger
We'll do our best. Their camp must be fairly close.
Tato
Plenty canyon.
The Lone Ranger
We'll investigate them all if we have to. Come on.
Tato
I don't know, Red.
The Lone Ranger
With you working as the old man's foreman and tipping us off just when to make our raids, things are going along pretty well as they are.
Red
Small potatoes. Lance, I tell you, the old man's got no kin. Once he's dead, we can fake a will leaving the spread to me. Then every cow on the range belongs to us.
Dan Miller
It's risky business.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Yeah.
Red
Shut up, Lefty. He won't take any chances at all. The way I get it figured out, the old man's giving me orders to bust up that corral. Yeah, and when he's found dead tomorrow morning, I'll accuse the wranglers of doing it.
The Lone Ranger
But there might be somebody around the ranch who'll tell the sheriff the truth.
Narrator
Then you'll be in hot water.
Red
The old man's all alone. Told four of the boys, including the cook, they're going to town tonight. Told the other two they'd have to ride her tonight and watch out for rustling. Well, what do you say?
The Lone Ranger
You don't know who these wranglers are. You might have friends who'll try to help them out.
Red
Yeah, they're just a couple of saddle bums trying to get a steak.
Pete
You can take my word for it.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Well, put it up to the boys.
Tato
Well, that's fair enough.
Lance
I'll guarantee every one of you that
Red
just as soon as the old man's out of the way, you'll be living in style. You won't have nothing to be afraid of.
The Lone Ranger
What's your answer, boys?
Pete
Good.
Red
I'm heading east for the corral. I'll meet you at the big cottonwood in two hours.
Tato
You could do the job and the old man alone.
Red
I thought you might suggest just that. But it's no good.
Pete
Why not?
Red
We're all going to be in on this. Or none of us are. Will you meet me at the Cottonwood or not?
Tato
Yeah, we'll be there.
The Lone Ranger
Get moving.
Dan Miller
Horses, Pete.
Pete
Yeah, two of them. They're coming fast.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Let him come, Pedro. Martinel di Zavali. Runega is ready for anybody.
Pete
Steady on that trigger finger. Might be a messenger from the Colonel. Did you hear that? Sounded like Todo.
Lance
It is Tonto and the mask man.
Tonto
Hello, Pedro. How are you, Pete?
Pete
Riders, rein. Mister.
The Lone Ranger
Got your horses saddled? You're riding with Totto and me.
Narrator
What is wrong?
The Lone Ranger
Dan Miller's foreman is on his way to break up your corral.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Hey.
Pete
Well, thanks for warning us. We'll teach it armory. A lesson he'll never forget.
The Lone Ranger
I don't want you to try to save the corral.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
What do you say?
The Lone Ranger
It won't take you long to build another one.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
And not you do not know.
The Lone Ranger
And if we let Red go through with his plan, we can brand him as a crook and round up a gang of outlaws.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Not long to build another, you say? How you think I got these blisters on my hand?
Pete
Quiet, Pedro. What plan do you mean?
The Lone Ranger
Mass man, I'll tell you about as we ride.
Pete
We're with you. Get your coyote saddle, Pedro.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Must be it, my friend. The masked man does not understand. But the corral.
Pete
Oh, never mind that.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Never mind.
Pete
There's more important things in the wind than your blisters.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
My blisters are not on the wind. They are in the hands. Look.
Pete
Oh, listen, senor. The mask man's got work for us to do. Are you going to turn him down?
Dan Miller
No.
Tato
But.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
No. That is something Pedro Martinez de Salvador Renega would never do.
Pete
And cut out the palaver and slap a saddle on your pony. We're with you, mask man. Whatever you say.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Go.
Dan Miller
Foreman tried to murder me. You're loco, mister. If you ask me, I think you four are the crooks. I don't know what your game is, but it ain't gonna work with me.
The Lone Ranger
You'll soon find out we're telling the truth, Miller.
Pete
And watch your talk as here's a Lone Ranger.
Dan Miller
Hey, there's plenty of armrest in the waist to wear a mask. But there's only one Lone Ranger.
The Lone Ranger
We haven't time to argue. We got you out of bed and that's where Red will expect to find you. Not the lamb. Toto.
Dan Miller
Did you see Toto?
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Si, senor. That is the name of the Indian.
Dan Miller
Well, now, wait a minute.
The Lone Ranger
We can't. Miller. Red was to meet the outlaws at the Big Cottonwood. Which way is that?
Dan Miller
To the west. You can almost see it from here.
The Lone Ranger
Then we'll watch for them at these windows.
Tato
A full moon it plenty bright.
The Lone Ranger
Red won't bring them all inside the house. And the five of us should be able to handle those he does without any trouble. The leader of the gang is Cor Lance, and he'll be one of them.
Pete
We get the leader in red and it won't be hard to round up the rest of them.
The Lone Ranger
That's what I'm hoping. They'll expect a certain amount of noise in here so they won't be warned of what's going on.
Dan Miller
They've been an old fool to trust that owner's skunk the way I have. Helping wrestlers make off my cattle plan to murder me in my bed.
Pete
It's really get my hands you anyway, Kimasabe.
Dan Miller
Hey, where's my gun?
The Lone Ranger
Yes.
Red
Hello.
Tato
You look out there. That not miss that dust. Then come now.
The Lone Ranger
You're right. Pete, you and Pedro stay on one side of the door. Tato and I will be on the other.
Tato
Hunter. See, men.
Red
Now then.
Dan Miller
Stop.
The Lone Ranger
They're stopping. What are you opening that window for, Miller?
Lance
Yes.
Narrator
Duty.
Dan Miller
You can't see good. They've stopped.
Narrator
All right.
Tato
Now, six men ride this way.
Dan Miller
That's Red in front. I recognize his horse.
The Lone Ranger
You understand, everybody. Let them get well into the room before you make a move.
Pete
Sure thing.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
He's in your.
Tonto
What have you done?
Dan Miller
I wanted to get that Red hit myself. I guess you wasn't in range here.
Pete
Ah, you've spoiled the masked man's plan.
The Lone Ranger
What are they doing? Kimasabi?
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Now we cannot surprise him.
The Lone Ranger
They can't see our horses.
Pete
That's right. The trees in back give him plenty
The Lone Ranger
of COVID so they don't know we're here. They must know you're awake.
Tato
Then other men ride up and start the circle house.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
They all well, Bundan.
Lance
Over a face.
The Lone Ranger
Now you're awake and on guard. Red knows he can't bring those men up to the house without calling out an explanation. He isn't going to try it.
Dan Miller
It's your fight, huh?
The Lone Ranger
Yes, Dan. They're going to try and smoke you up.
Dan Miller
I'm sorry, my man. My temper got the better of me. I just couldn't keep my finger off that trigger.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
You would not be in this like this if you had not lost your temper with us today.
Pete
And we wouldn't be here with you.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
That is the part that hurt most. We are five against 20.
Tato
I'm close in now.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
These outlaw get you after all.
Red
Done.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
It is only what you deserve.
The Lone Ranger
That isn't true, Pedro. Dan may act and talk before he thinks, but he's honest. He's one of us. And we're all against that gang out there. This is a fight for justice. And forget about the difference of opinion you had today. If we're going to win, we'll have to fight together. All right then. They'll start firing soon. Don't waste your ammunition.
Tato
Pedro.
The Lone Ranger
You and Dan take the other side of the back. You'll stay here with me, Pete.
Pete
That suits me fine.
The Lone Ranger
It's any minute now. There's no telling how long it will last. They're getting well in range.
Pete
Do we let them start it?
The Lone Ranger
Yes, please.
Lance
That's it.
The Lone Ranger
Open. Fireman. Drive them back.
Narrator
The curtain falls on the first act of our Lone Ranger drama. Before the next exciting scenes. Please permit us to pause for just a moment.

Narrator
Now to continue Our story. When Dan Miller fired on Red and Lance as they rode toward the ranch house, the outlaws were warned of the Lone Rangers trap. They attacked in full force and the little band inside the house was faced with a fight for their lives. Under the leadership of the masked man, they drove the outlaws back time after time. The siege continued for two hours. And then suddenly the firing stopped.
Pete
What happened? I can't see them anymore.
The Lone Ranger
They might be massing for an attack on the other side. Pedro. Where are they?
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Senor, they're either way.
Narrator
Can it be all over?
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Will they try escape now?
The Lone Ranger
I can't believe it. They may be trying to draw us into the open. Can you still see them? Dan?
Dan Miller
Here. They're splitting up. Somebody heading for Crooked Canyon. The others are going further west.
Pete
Well, I'm sure glad to give this gun a rest. So hard I could fry an egg on it.
Red
You do not speak the truth.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
We will get an egg and see.
Pete
It's no time to eat yet.
The Lone Ranger
Now, Crooked Canyon, that's the shortest way to town, isn't it?
Dan Miller
It's what we use all the time.
The Lone Ranger
The other canyon to the west, that's where they have their hideout. There are really only two trails to town.
Dan Miller
Unless you wanted to travel about 100 miles.
The Lone Ranger
And they know that. If we were to try to get the sheriff and a posse, we'd have to use one of those two canyons. There aren't enough of us to round them up alone. We'll have to get the sheriff sooner or later. Unless.
Pete
Unless what?
The Lone Ranger
Unless we made them think we were going after him and didn't.
Pete
What you just said.
The Lone Ranger
I know. If they believed a posse was on its way here, they'd have the choice of clearing out or finding some place where they could hold off a superior force.
Dan Miller
Trouble is by now they got boots. Those canyons guarded? Couldn't get through either one of them.
The Lone Ranger
Tato, come here a moment.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
You have some plan, senor?
The Lone Ranger
It depends. You want you know the rustlers canyon.
Red
Uhhuh.
The Lone Ranger
Is there any way you and Dan could get below their hideout?
Tato
Maybe. So it take a long time. 12 hours on horseback.
The Lone Ranger
I mean you'd need your horses.
Tato
12 hour.
The Lone Ranger
Good. Now then. There should be guards posted at the opening of Crooked Canyon. But if I could get past them.
Dan Miller
You couldn't.
The Lone Ranger
Let's say I can manage it.
Dan Miller
Then you can ride on to town without nothing to stop you. You can get the shear for the
The Lone Ranger
Porsche and bring them back by tomorrow night.
Dan Miller
Yeah, it'll take that long for sure.
The Lone Ranger
What I want to know Is this. Is there any way I could climb back to the mesa once I'm inside the canyon?
Dan Miller
Well, there's a trail just beyond that little waterfall. But it's awful dangerous. Only a few feet wide. I wouldn't try it at night.
The Lone Ranger
Silver can manage it.
Pete
I don't savvy at all. Once you're past the guards, you got nothing to worry about.
The Lone Ranger
Pete, you and Pedro are going to round up your first wild horses tonight.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Round of the wild horses?
The Lone Ranger
Have you picked out a herd yet?
Pete
Oh, yeah. There's one that beds down by the creek about the two miles from here.
The Lone Ranger
I know the place you mean. I'll meet you there in two hours.
Pete
Will you just answer me this masked man. Why don't you go on and get the sheriff if you can get past the guards?
The Lone Ranger
Because I don't believe the gang would be here when I got back.
Pete
Yellow, you mean?
The Lone Ranger
Yes. They're killers, but they take no chances. I believe that once they think the law is on their trail, they'll break camp and get out of here.
Lance
But how can wild horses stop them?
The Lone Ranger
We'll drive them straight into that box canyon where they have their camp, see?
Tato
Now you want ban me below camp, turn horse into canyon.
The Lone Ranger
That's the idea.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
They will think an army is off to the.
Dan Miller
Yes, Pedro, it sounds all right. Except you're part of it. M man, you can't get through the opening of Crooked Canyon. And if you can't do that, they won't be worried about the sheriff.
The Lone Ranger
I'm going to try, and I'm starting right now.
Lance
Good luck.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Hang on.
Red
I'll get this. Lefty. You gotta keep watch both ways. Dan will try to reach the sheriff. He won't get by. If he does, you'll answer for it. But you gotta keep watch the other way, too. There's just a chance that those four waddies I let off tonight will come riding back about dawn. They won't get by either. We don't want Dan to have any more help. You said he didn't have any at all. I still can't figure it out. It must have been those two wranglers in there with him. But why Dan and them should be working together is beyond me. Maybe Dan is dead. Maybe those two killed him just before we got there. It was Dan who fired the first shot at me. I saw him.
Lance
Well, you're the one who's supposed to
Red
have the brains, not me. You can't figure it out.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Why should I try?
Red
Don't waste your time. Listen, I can't hear nothing. Get your ear down the ground, you will. Somebody riding this way. Lance? Yeah. He's setting a guard at the other canyon and we'll try. Anything there? Just one horse. Can't see him yet. This light's sort of funny.
Lance
Hey, you boys over there. Watch out. Somebody coming.
Red
The opener's pretty wide.
Pete
Wouldn't it be better for some of
Lance
the boys to stand outside? Will you do it?
Red
Oh, not me. Shut up. Whoever it is will be riding straight into a crossfire. He can't get past.
Lance
Look, a white horse.
Red
That don't belong to Dan.
Tonto
There's the canyon.
Lance
He's coming like the wind. That homage. Wearing a mask. And he called his horse Silver.
Red
What's the matter?
Narrator
You seen it?
Lance
Goes. Who? Worse than that. Get him. What's the matter with you? Coyotes over there. He said no way or let any. You can't hit him now you can. What happened to you? You didn't fire a shot. Well, I gotta tell lan.
Red
You gotta tell him what?
Lance
Don't you know who he was? A man's man and a white horse. He called that horse Silver. Well, that was the Lone Ranger. Lone Ranger? He's poison red. I gotta tell Lance. The Lone Ranger was in the house with Dan. He was the one shot the gun
Red
out of my hand that time.
Lance
And now he's on the way to the sheriff. When they come back, we won't have a chance. There's only one thing to do if we want to save our skins.
Red
We can stop any posse that comes up here for us.
Lance
Not with the Lone Ranger in the lead. Here, boy. Hey, where do you think you're going? Back to camp. You can stay here if you want to.
Red
Yeah, maybe you're right. We'll talk it over with Lance and then decide.
Lance
I know what he'll decide.
Red
Hey, we got time anyway.
Lance
He can't bring a posse before tomorrow sometime. You saw that white horse travel, no
Red
matter how fast he is.
Lance
All right, you marriage. Over there. We're heading back for camp.
Pete
You made it, mash man.
The Lone Ranger
Thanks to Silver. That was only the beginning.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
You cannot see the horses from here. But they're just over there. Right.
Pete
Come on, get up.
Lance
Get up there.
Tonto
Silver and I'll take the north.
Pete
Well, that's the way they'll try to break. You've had a hard ride already.
Tonto
Look at Silver Pete.
The Lone Ranger
He isn't even breathing hard.
Pete
That's right.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
It's magnifical.
Pete
There's the herd. I'd bless the leader. There must be a hundred hens at the Bow, Senorita.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Wild horses, they cannot be driven like a copy.
The Lone Ranger
But they'll stay together and they'll follow that black.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
It'd be our job to drive them into town when you want.
The Lone Ranger
I think we can do it.
Pete
It sure be tough if we managed it and the rustlers weren't there.
The Lone Ranger
It's worth a try. You two stay here. I'll start them moving. Come on, Silver.
Narrator
As the Lone Ranger in Silver reached the north side of the herd. The scent of danger reached the black leader. He we need a warning. Instantly his wild followers were on the alert. The black started toward the west, slowly at first. Then a volley of shots rang out of the right flank of the herd. The leader broke into a dead run and changed his course a little toward the south. But Pete and Paper were waiting for him there. Once more the black headed west, flying straight across the mesa toward the outlaws hideout on the wild horses raced across the mesa in the first light of dawn. The opening of the Rustlers Canyon loomed ahead. Now came the moment when the herd must be turned into it. The Lone Ranger rode closer and closer to the black leader. Little by little, the black changed his course until he was heading straight for the opening. When he saw it, his eyes rolled white. For a moment it seemed that he would stand and fight. But then, trusting to the speed that had brought his band through other dangers, he plunged ahead.
Tonto
We've done it, Silver. They're heading down the trail. Keep them moving, Silver. Faster, boy. Faster, sir.
Narrator
Lower on the trail. Tonto and Dan could hear the thunder of hoops as they echoed between the canyon walls.
Tonto
Coming.
Dan Miller
The outlaws can hear him just as well as we can. There we go for the guns.
Tato
Then let's come out here.
Dan Miller
I can see the horses.
Tato
Turn over.
Dan Miller
Christian ears. Can we stop them and turn them aside? Looks like nothing could stop now. They're run overs.
Tato
Use 10 crowns.
Dan Miller
I can't manage my horse. Security. He wants to get out of here.
Narrator
The black leader broke his stride when he heard the shot from yelling ahead of him, the Lone Ranger. Pete and Pedro were quiet now. Sam slowed down with the Black. Would he try to turn back? Would he go on? A break in the wall of the cliff showed to the left. Here was escape from the danger in front and behind. Once more the black Winnie is defiant. Then he plunged straight into the box canyon where the outlaws had their camp.
Tonto
We follow men match man as fast as you can. Good work, fellow. You turn them just in time.
Narrator
They think FY has come for them.
Tonto
Those horses are better than any posse.
Dan Miller
We could Find they sure don't care for nothing.
Tonto
That's right. D, you and T go after him. We'll get the leaders as we planned before. Come on.
The Lone Ranger
Those l trying to get out the big one.
Tonto
Yes. Pedro, here's a chance to prove you're
The Lone Ranger
the best man with a lariat in Texas.
Red
Fire.
Lance
Got him. Don't tr.
The Lone Ranger
I've got a gun I lost tonight.
Tonto
Surrender.
Dan Miller
He's r mas man.
Lance
Hey, you got a tough number. We give up.
Tonto
Tell your men to throw down their guns.
Lance
Yeah, they have. What do you think? They're yelling? They're giving up.
Pete
Here go the wild horses. They're heading for the clear.
Tonto
Can we try and stop them?
The Lone Ranger
No. Hedro, you and Pete collect all the guns and then start tying the gang up.
Pete
Hands enough.
The Lone Ranger
That'll be fine, but work fast. Getting lighter every minute. They'll soon find out there's only five of us here.
Pete
I come to help.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Yeah, we were so busy.
Lance
Yeah, it was a trick. You throw wild horses in here. We thought it was a party.
Dan Miller
That's right, Red. You can thank the Lone Ranger. I spoiled one of his plans to get you. But there was nothing wrong with this one. You and your whole gang are going to jail for a long, long.
Pete
That's some possession going down the trail, masked man. I'll bet the sheriff never made a bigger hall of crooks in his life.
The Lone Ranger
You won't have any trouble getting them to town?
Dan Miller
Sure.
Pete
Not all of Dan's men are riding with him.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Do you leave us now, senor?
The Lone Ranger
Yes, Pedro. I suppose you and Pete will stay here and get your horses. Well, I don't like to interfere with your business, but there's one favor I'd
Pete
like to ask you.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
Anything at all.
Pete
I'd like to, but I'm not going to.
The Lone Ranger
Perhaps you can figure it out for yourself.
Pete
You must tell him, senor.
The Lone Ranger
Let's go, Tallo.
Tonto
Adios, boys. Get him up. Come on, Silver.
Lance
Adios.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
We cannot let him go, Pete. We must find out what he wants.
Pete
Don't worry about it.
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
See, I will be thinking circles till I find out what it is.
Pete
Well, it's got something to do with our business. Huh? We're out to catch horses. But that one herd with the black leader did us an awful good turn. I got an idea the masked man would like us to leave him alone.
Lance
That is it for sure.
Pete
You think we ought to?
Narrator
Ought to?
Pedro Martinez de Salvador Runega
If you want to stay partner with Pedro Martinez de Gerardo, renegade, you will not even mention the black leader again.
Pete
Oh, wait now. Don't get riled, senor. They're black, safe, and so is every other mustang in his band. As far as I'm concerned, they're friends. The Lone Ranger. That's enough for me.
