I used to feel stuck googling anxiety remedies at 2am, cycling through the same panic attacks with no real relief until God walked me through a plan that finally broke the cycle for good. In this episode of the Get Free From Anxiety podcast, I'm opening up about my own years-long battle with anxiety and panic attacks (we're talking multiple attacks a day), and the faith-based framework — I call it "Get a GRIP" — that helped me find lasting peace without medication or a therapist. We talk about: Why so many believers feel shame around struggling with anxiety, and why that shame is a lie What Romans 12:2 really means when it says "be transformed by the renewing of your mind" Why faith without action won't move the needle on anxiety The four-step GRIP method that helped me go from years of panic attacks to freedom in just a few months If you're tired of fighting anxiety the same old way and ready to try God's way instead, this episode is for you. Grab your journal, your coffee, and let's get into it. I'm sharing something a little different this week: a clip straight from my beta course, where I get real about a phrase we've all heard a million times- "protecting your peace" -and why I actually don't believe in it. Oof. I know. We talk about the difference between hiding from discomfort and actually living through it. I open up about my own struggles with anxiety and food, share a personal (and honestly kind of funny) story about rediscovering joy in the kitchen, and walk through a simple exercise to help you reconnect with the things anxiety has quietly talked you out of. If you've been surviving instead of living, this one's for you. Grab your journal — you'll want to take notes on this! Do you ever catch yourself trying to "fix" everything for your kid, only to feel like they're pulling further away from you? Or maybe you're the one who grew up feeling like you had to be the perfect Christian kid, holding it all together so your parents wouldn't worry? If either of those hits close to home, this episode is for you. I brought on my friend Kristen Phillips, a Christian teen anxiety coach and high school counselor, for a conversation that honestly wrecked me in the best way. We got real about the pressure moms carry, the pressure teens carry, and the stuff nobody really talks about out loud in church. Grab your coffee for this one, you're going to want to sit with it a while. If you have a teen daughter heading back to school this year, stick around to the end, Kristen's got something special for her too! You guys know my story. I used to have four to five panic attacks every single day, and I've learned a lot on the other side of that. One of the biggest things I've learned is that the way we think about panic attacks is actually a huge part of why they keep happening. And once I understood that, everything started to change. In this episode, I'm teaching you the two core things you need to understand if you want to stop the cycle of panic attacks for good. I walk you through what's actually going on when panic attacks keep repeating, why your baby faith is more powerful than you think, and what God's Word has to say about renewing your mind in a way that is practical and makes real sense for your healing. If you're ready to stop the cycle and be free, press play! Okay, let's be real for a second. You didn't ask for anxiety. It just showed up one day and decided to move in like a roommate nobody invited. And if you're anything like I was, you've spent way too many days wishing it would just leave you alone. The good news? You actually have the power to get rid of it. And in this episode, I'm walking you through exactly how to do that through four steps, all rooted in the Word of God, and honestly so practical you can start today. Here's what you need to understand first: anxiety is driven by your thoughts, and your thoughts are repetitive. Your brain has something called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) (I like to call it the office manager of your mind.) It takes in whatever you feed it and keeps handing it back to you. So if you've been feeding it fear and panic and worry, that's exactly what it keeps producing. But here's the thing, you get to decide what goes in. Tune in to hear all four steps, sis! They're simple, they're practical, and they work. I promise you, you don't want to miss this one. As a mom of two, wife, and woman wearing several hats, I am completely familiar with feeling like there isn't enough time in the day to help ourselves! These aren't just feel-good tips; they're tools that will actually help you renew your mind and take back control of your peace. Believe it or not, each hack is probably something you're already doing! What I'll do today is show you exactly how to use each one to actually start quieting anxiety for good. If you've ever felt what I can only describe as exhausterwhelmulated — that bone-deep mix of exhausted, overwhelmed, and overstimulated all at once — tune in. I know that feeling intimately. There was a season in my life when I was working full-time, coming home to a three-year-old, breastfeeding a six-week-old who came to work with me every day, cooking, cleaning, and quietly falling apart inside. Panic attacks were daily. Peace felt like a luxury I couldn't afford. But here's what God showed me: rest doesn't have to be separate from your life; it has to be woven into it. In this episode, I'm sharing the exact mindset shift and practical tips that helped me stop waiting for a vacation to breathe and start finding peace in the pockets of my everyday life.
