Benito Skinner
I'm Benito Skinner.
Mary Beth Barone
I'm Mary Beth Barone.
Benito Skinner
And this is Rye Ride. Rye, Rye, Rye Ride.
Mary Beth Barone
We're starting the episode with you silently texting,
Benito Skinner
bye, honey. That's me.
Mary Beth Barone
Bye, honey.
Benito Skinner
As if that's ever me. You know what I mean?
Mary Beth Barone
Also, it's just like.
Benito Skinner
I just. It's kind of sweet not to be.
Mary Beth Barone
Like, do a line Delivery.
Benito Skinner
I just FaceTimed with a mom at Smiley Cafe. Okay, don't play me.
Mary Beth Barone
Do a line delivery of Bye, honey. That's, like, mean.
Benito Skinner
All right, ready? Bye, honey.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah, I just. It's just not.
Benito Skinner
It's still not. You would think I was joking that
Mary Beth Barone
I'm not picturing that for you.
Benito Skinner
So you're really gonna wear Bombshell dress and not say anything?
Mary Beth Barone
I'm wearing the bombshell dress today. It's like, I wanted to wear a dress. Cause it's so hot out. Oh, yeah.
Benito Skinner
It had nothing to do with Amazon, mgm, casting the Bond movie right now? It had nothing to do with that. You are so fucking political.
Mary Beth Barone
Well, it's all a big game of chess.
Benito Skinner
My God, you're strategic.
Mary Beth Barone
Remember when you said. You told me to write this down because you had said to me, I want a day when we don't talk about work? And I said, maybe June.
Benito Skinner
Yeah. It was April.
Mary Beth Barone
That was April 11th. Yeah, it's June. Guess what? June is over very, very soon. Hasn't happened yet.
Benito Skinner
For a while, I wanted to take you to trapeze. And then I had this nightmare vision of you. I catch you, and then I actually fling you too far. It's very Batman and Robin.
Mary Beth Barone
Wait. But, you know, my goal, it's to be flung like that. And I just keep spinning until I go to space.
Benito Skinner
That's what I'm saying.
Mary Beth Barone
That's what I'm doing. And I wouldn't fall back down. I would just. I would float away.
Benito Skinner
It's because of these.
Mary Beth Barone
It's those guns.
Benito Skinner
Swans.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah.
Benito Skinner
They're not guns. They're swans.
Mary Beth Barone
Okay. I love that.
Benito Skinner
Yeah.
Mary Beth Barone
I don't know how PETA would feel.
Benito Skinner
I was about to say PETA, they kill me.
Mary Beth Barone
Speaking of PETA, eat crow. Oh, God.
Benito Skinner
I knew you were gonna say, eat crow. It's very. Knock it off. But eat crow is very heavens to Murgatroyd.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah. And vermicelli. Oh, yeah.
Benito Skinner
These are. It's like a blizzard. I actually always have a blizzard in one of these.
Mary Beth Barone
That's what they don't know in their lives.
Benito Skinner
You know, as a kid, I wanted to Work at Dairy Queen so that I could do that.
Mary Beth Barone
Well, you know what's crazy? As a kid, my dad's cousins owned several Dairy Queens in Ohio, and we went to visit them.
Benito Skinner
Big business.
Mary Beth Barone
Big business. They. They serve fries and burgers and all types of stuff. Yeah. Of course, ones from Northeast only served ice cream.
Benito Skinner
Oh, no, we have food on.
Mary Beth Barone
I was like, whoa.
Benito Skinner
And you don't have Jack in the Box, right?
Mary Beth Barone
No.
Benito Skinner
Whoa. So you've never driven your brother when he's drunk? Not to a Jack in the Box.
Mary Beth Barone
I've driven them drunk to other stuff.
Benito Skinner
Like, that's so cool. It's like, let me get in this Jetta, please.
Mary Beth Barone
Let me say. Please clip me accidentally saying, I've driven drunk. Please clip that.
Benito Skinner
Yeah. Wait, that's good. Oh, I have driven drunk. Can I tell you the story, please? So I was in high school, and I was so nervous. Well, I wasn't actually drunk. I had, like, one beer, but I felt drunk. Let's just. And actually, I probably was, to be honest.
Mary Beth Barone
I love that you're coming clean about this.
Benito Skinner
Yeah, I want to be more real on here.
Mary Beth Barone
Hey, Same. I'm so sick of being a goody two shoes all the time. I. I'm in my rebel era, like
Benito Skinner
I told you, for Rosalia. They go, what do you want to confess? And I thought, I've got nothing.
Mary Beth Barone
We. And I have. As I've been talking about for weeks, I have no vices, so I'm ready to just be a little bad sometimes.
Benito Skinner
Do you know what it's like to be a gay guy back out there? And I'm like, I know it's crazy.
Mary Beth Barone
So it's like, I guess just give yourself permission, as long as you're not hurting anyone, to be a little bad. If you're driving, you are. But, like, this is in the past.
Benito Skinner
What a bus.
Mary Beth Barone
So we're gonna be a little bit more human, a little more bad. And if you're doing it.
Benito Skinner
So we're doing trapeze.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah, we're doing trapeze over at Chelsea Beers. If you thought we've been being bad this whole time, then I guess, like, welcome to hell. Yeah.
Benito Skinner
Reputation, girl. The rest will be rep. Wait, there is no conversation. Reputation.
Mary Beth Barone
Reputation.
Benito Skinner
It was so fun clearing our Instagram. That was so.
Mary Beth Barone
Oh, people freaking out.
Benito Skinner
The first podcast in history to do a clear. Unless it was canceled.
Mary Beth Barone
Launching a new era.
Benito Skinner
Yeah, Sorry.
Mary Beth Barone
Go on about drunk driving.
Benito Skinner
So drunk driving. I turned the corner to my house after being at this party that anytime I would go to the party, Anytime I would go to the party.
Mary Beth Barone
The party.
Benito Skinner
Yes, that's right. I'm at the party, not going to tell you.
Mary Beth Barone
And what's mine is mine.
Benito Skinner
What's mine is mine. Why do you care so much? His dick I ride. Why?
Mary Beth Barone
Why?
Benito Skinner
So I turn the corner to my house and party in the USA came on on 103 Kiss FM. And I just thought, fuck, yeah, we did it. I fooled them all. All you cops. All you bastards. You missed one, by the way.
Mary Beth Barone
Yep. The streets were a little bit less safe that night.
Benito Skinner
You missed one? Oh, no. I wouldn't have hit anyone. I wasn't actually drunk, but I really felt it. And I was like, my whole life's gonna be ruined because of this.
Mary Beth Barone
But you had to get home for curfew.
Benito Skinner
Yeah. And I just was like, I can't tell my parents I've been drinking because my dad worked at the school. He was a history teacher. So then I would go to parties, and everyone would be like, does your dad know you're here? And I'd be like, no, I can't stress enough. He doesn't. Right. So I'm not proud. All I can say is I'm sorry.
Mary Beth Barone
I wish you'd have done that as your confession at Rosalia. That you drunk drove in high school, having drank one beer.
Benito Skinner
Yeah. One Heineken, and that's it.
Mary Beth Barone
That's a fancy one for a high school party.
Benito Skinner
Oh, sweetie, I've always been that girl. Me as well.
Mary Beth Barone
Bitchy.
Benito Skinner
Gay. Bye, honey. Bye, honey. Well, I told you, it's my favorite thing in the world. It's gay waiter. Ready?
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah.
Benito Skinner
Hi.
Mary Beth Barone
Well, it's gay waiter who knows something you don't.
Benito Skinner
Gay waiter who knows something you don't. Hi.
Mary Beth Barone
It's like, I always wanted you to post that.
Benito Skinner
I know, but then I just.
Mary Beth Barone
And you didn't.
Benito Skinner
Sketches got hard for me. I pissed off someone who I did a sketch of, and that message kind of ruined my life for a while. And then I'm just so scared of. Of fans. I think that's the thing.
Mary Beth Barone
Like, they're even your own fans. It can happen to you, girl.
Benito Skinner
The call is coming from inside the house. So speaking on the things we were gonna do, not work related as friends, I also thought of us in a pottery class. But then I thought about. I know after 15 minutes, we'd be
Mary Beth Barone
like, want to go? Should we go to the railroad class? But I would be sitting in your lap. We'd be making one bowl.
Benito Skinner
I said, pottery class. I mean, painting things that have already Been made. I'm not making a pot. That's not the art I do. No, I do makeup, but I want
Mary Beth Barone
to paint a bowl for my vermicelli.
Benito Skinner
Yeah. Do you have any bowls here that are specific to a vermicelli bowl? I would say you really have to. It's a basin. It's not a ramen bowl. It's a vermicelli bowl.
Mary Beth Barone
It's a big old bowl.
Benito Skinner
The T's are tight, the hair is short.
Mary Beth Barone
The boy is mine.
Benito Skinner
Oh, interesting car. Yeah.
Mary Beth Barone
Goopy car. You wanted to just touch on that? Curious George has been quiet.
Benito Skinner
Where is he? I've had this thing. Everyone agrees with me. Curious George was such a thing. It was like Jack Johnson. And the movie came out, and I just saw him everywhere. My nephews don't bring him up. My nieces. It's been so quiet. Where the fuck is Curious George?
Mary Beth Barone
Can I give my theory?
Benito Skinner
He's not curious anymore.
Mary Beth Barone
Well, first of all, he has no more questions. He's totally done.
Benito Skinner
Yeah.
Mary Beth Barone
But also, I think Paddington's success, maybe, like, he took a step back to, like, rebuild.
Benito Skinner
It's so good to know that there are rivals in every category. And you're so right. Well, you know, Pooh Bear found shot.
Mary Beth Barone
Pooh Bear. Pooh Bear. But you know what? Pooh Bear exists for those who know where to find him.
Benito Skinner
Exactly. But he's like. He wants to launch a smear campaign of Paddington.
Mary Beth Barone
Right. No, I know. I mean, I can't imagine. Especially. Cause they're both bears.
Benito Skinner
Exactly.
Mary Beth Barone
That's gotta be really stressful and just,
Benito Skinner
like, the destruction of the term bear for them.
Mary Beth Barone
Well, the bastardization.
Benito Skinner
Exactly. Has been, like, tough to all bears.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah.
Benito Skinner
Including Bear in the big blue house.
Mary Beth Barone
Well. And where the hell has he been, by the way?
Benito Skinner
Well, I realized recently I find him attractive.
Mary Beth Barone
Interesting.
Benito Skinner
Yeah. It was tough, but I do. And I'm just going to.
Mary Beth Barone
And that's okay.
Benito Skinner
As a kid, I just. I think I was like, yeah, he's hot to me. Yeah. Same with Balto.
Mary Beth Barone
Balto was universally sexy, though.
Benito Skinner
That's a sexy pup. What do you want?
Mary Beth Barone
Wasn't he, like. He did, like, emergency response and stuff?
Benito Skinner
Well, he got. He got amoxicillin. Right. For that girl that had pneumonia.
Mary Beth Barone
You can't string a sentence together. But you remember the plot of Balto. Shit. You really are that girl.
Benito Skinner
I really am. Isn't there a statue of Balto in Central Park? Or was that just in the movie? Because the movie starts with the grandma and the daughter. The grandma who's the one I think he saved. Maybe. Whoa.
Mary Beth Barone
If you're wrong, just know we'll find out.
Benito Skinner
I know, and I can't wait for that. But. But yeah, he was sexy. Also. The villain pup was kind of sexy too.
Mary Beth Barone
It was good animation. I. Have you seen Swan Princess?
Benito Skinner
We watched it together in a hotel in Portland. Are you actually. Are you serious right now?
Mary Beth Barone
I thought. But Odette, do you actually want to
Benito Skinner
do this or not?
Mary Beth Barone
Do you actually want to do this or not?
Benito Skinner
Do you actually want to do this or not? Here's my thing. That film, Odette was everything to me. That's a really scary villain.
Mary Beth Barone
I know. Really?
Benito Skinner
What's his name? Ball something.
Mary Beth Barone
Oh, bar.
Benito Skinner
Bar. It's not bar time.
Mary Beth Barone
It's not about the czar, but it's something like that.
Benito Skinner
It's Balthazar. It is Seafood Tower.
Mary Beth Barone
With that movie watching as an adult, I feel like there's like a few scenes missing. Like maybe they ran out of animation budget. Like it's so close to being a complete movie. It's just not quite there. But I still enjoy it.
Benito Skinner
I think it's like 75 minutes low
Mary Beth Barone
key, but not 91st.
Benito Skinner
As a kid, I was like, this is long.
Mary Beth Barone
Also, a lot of people are posting like them doing all the lines to It Takes Two. And I just want to go on the record as saying that I performed It Takes Two as a one woman show. June 2019. It was on the Olsen twins birthday. I will reprise my role as all the characters one night only at some point in the future. But I just want to say if I. If I ever make a video doing that like I did it first, that's
Benito Skinner
so important and say that.
Mary Beth Barone
So thank you.
Benito Skinner

Benito Skinner
So today I'll be riding for Banana.
Mary Beth Barone
And I will be riding for having wet nails. I think you should probably go first.
Benito Skinner
I think so, too.
Mary Beth Barone
As is customary.
Benito Skinner
Banana.
Mary Beth Barone
Banana, singular.
Benito Skinner
So Banana. Here's the thing about me and banana is it happened where I walked into this place called. Speaking of Balthazar or whatever his name is. I think his name was Balzacs.
Mary Beth Barone
Right?
Benito Skinner
There is a coffee shop in Toronto called Ball Sacks. It's Ballsacks, but I just can't believe. Yeah, but Ball sack, right? So to me, Ballsack. And I would go once a day to get my second coffee, and I walk in one day and it says, it's PBL season. And I thought, well, I've never heard of some shit like this. It was pistachio banana latte season. And then I thought, you're right. It did feel different outside.
Mary Beth Barone
It was. The leaves had changed, and it was officially PBL season.
Benito Skinner
I thought, no, you guys build. Yeah. Cause I'm like, no, it did. There's a change in the air, and I can taste it. And so I said, fuck it. I'm gonna put banana syrup in my coffee. Haters be damned. I'm do it. Fuck y'. All. And I said that to the barista.
Mary Beth Barone
You did.
Benito Skinner
I said, bye, honey.
Mary Beth Barone
I was there. I said, bye, honey. It was rare.
Benito Skinner
And then I tasted this banana, and I went, fuck, I love banana. And I just thought that I was like, wow, I forgot how much I love this. And as a kid, I used to love runts, those banana runts. And I liked that they kind of fit into your mouth and they just. But banana has been with me for so long. I love banana. Split. I love strawberry banana smoothies. I love a little milkshake when it's vanilla and banana. I love a banana. Recently I had. At Mashti Malone's in la, I had banana walnut vegan ice cream.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah, that was really good.
Benito Skinner
Delicioso.
Mary Beth Barone
Really good ice cream.
Benito Skinner
But banana is. This kind of slept on. But what I love about banana is that an actual banana tastes different than the banana flavor. But it's similar to watermelon, which I think it's amazing that we've made watermelons, like, fully sour in a completely different,
Mary Beth Barone
like, taste profile or whatever.
Benito Skinner
Taste profile or whatever. I love that. Or green. Well, no green apple feels consistent. But watermelon and banana feel just so singular.
Mary Beth Barone
That's so interesting.
Benito Skinner
But to me, right, isn't it? And this is why I, again, have a podcast and you fucking lames don't. But I. I really just adore this taste. It feels nostalgic. It feels diner to me. But banana. And I say banana because I'm not eating bananas. I'm eating a single banana if I'm having it right, by the way.
Mary Beth Barone
And in overcompensating time, we're honest about that.
Benito Skinner
There is a scene where I try to eat a banana. And it's. It's, I think, some of my best work as an actor.
Mary Beth Barone
I haven't seen it yet.
Benito Skinner
I can't wait for you to see it. It's really. You're really special on the show. We've cut a lot of your stuff, but you're good for sure. No, you're really, really good. Congrats. But I. Yeah, I just realized it's one of these. These flavors that I think goes by the wayside or people have really strong opinions on. And I'm here to fight for her and say it's PBL season. Like it or leave it. But I'm going to stay. I'm going to stick around a while.
Mary Beth Barone
You're staying, right?
Benito Skinner
And this thing that I'm dying to try, I believe it's in Japan. If I'm incorrect, shoot me. But it's. You get an iced coffee at like a 7 11, and then you put banana milk in it. And apparently it's like a total knockout banana milk. And you shake and you shakaradu, and I am, like, dying to have it. I'm just addicted to it right now. I think I'm pregnant.
Mary Beth Barone
Well, there's a short film in you flying to Japan, having one of those and then leaving, you know what I mean?
Benito Skinner
And it's called Banana.
Mary Beth Barone
I Am Okay. I. I have to have bananas in a very specific context. I like a banana and peanut butter. I can barely get down a whole banana. I can rarely get down a whole one, to be honest.
Benito Skinner
Banana with cashew butter. Well, God.
Mary Beth Barone
Oh, God. Buy me dinner first.
Benito Skinner
Well, you know, Duddy just throats it, takes it out and goes. I don't like the texture.
Mary Beth Barone
I didn't like the texture.
Benito Skinner
Yeah, she hates mushrooms, by the way.
Mary Beth Barone
Like, I need water with it, you know, because it's definitely like the palate's getting a little. You know what I mean?
Benito Skinner
Wow.
Mary Beth Barone
I do like. I do like banana. I just. If I'm going to eat one, I can cut it in half. It's sort of like a coffee. I only have half a coffee.
Benito Skinner
Have you had the run? The banana run?
Mary Beth Barone
I have had the banana run. I will say banana flavored candy. Not really for me.
Benito Skinner
Okay.
Mary Beth Barone
But I'm glad it's so. If we had a pack of runs, you could eat all the banana and I would eat the rest.
Benito Skinner
That's so good. The orange is like those. I remember cutting the roof of my mouth like my. It was just a scab. Well, I would say most of my childhood the roof of my mouth was a scab because of so much candy.
Mary Beth Barone
Crunch, too.
Benito Skinner
Captain Crunch. Reese's Puffs are my favorite. It's my favorite cereal.
Mary Beth Barone
Crisp.
Benito Skinner
Cool.
Mary Beth Barone
Cute.
Benito Skinner
Crisp. Yeah, of course I do.
Mary Beth Barone
I like a banana in. In a mix of other things for sure. Now. Raw banana. That's. That's desperate times. If I just have a banana raw. But that's when I'm really hungry and I need potassium or whatever.
Benito Skinner
Yeah, it has potassium and I believe fiber as well. I think they're really good for you. I love the. That everyone has a different way of opening them. I think that's so cool. Have it your way. Of course.
Mary Beth Barone
Isn't there something. There's some trick where, like this was from a movie where the banana is already sliced on the inside. They open it up and it's already sliced, but they won't like reveal their secret or whatever.
Benito Skinner
Yeah.
Mary Beth Barone
I don't remember what movie that is.
Benito Skinner
I know what you're talking about. And it's something. Yeah. The way that they're used sometimes it's like in media.
Mary Beth Barone
Bananas. The bastardization of bananas in media.
Benito Skinner
It's like. It's pissing me off.
Mary Beth Barone
It's going to be an overcompensating.
Benito Skinner
It is very much an overcompensating. They gave me the girthiest banana I've ever Seen. But I had the funniest thing ever. Did I tell you? So my sister and I used to take this kid to school in high school, and we picked him up one day, and I had to run to the door to, like, knock and have him come out.
Mary Beth Barone
I liked that you knocked. You didn't just honk the horn? It's those Idaho manners.
Benito Skinner
Bye, honey.
Mary Beth Barone
Bye, honey.
Benito Skinner
But, yeah, of course, I'd gallop up to the door. A friend of ours keep calling me a raccoon, and I do feel like one.
Mary Beth Barone
Right? I get that. I really get that, because.
Benito Skinner
What are you doing today? Dumpster diving. I thought, literally.
Mary Beth Barone
Wait, that's funny.
Benito Skinner
And today in the hotel, there were nuts all over the floor, and I thought, yeah. And I ran up to the door, and I knock. But I look in the window at him in his kitchen, and he's peeled a banana all the way down to
Mary Beth Barone
the bottom to the stove to a nub.
Benito Skinner
And he fully throats it in a way that he almost gags. And I was like, well, now's the perfect time to knock. So I knocked. And the look he gave me. I had just seen him naked.
Mary Beth Barone
Private moment. You saw him vaping, essentially.
Benito Skinner
Exactly. And we made full eye contact, which. Oh, I love a banana vape if. Oh, I'm gonna talk about that in a second, because I had one on overcompensating.
Mary Beth Barone
Ooh.
Benito Skinner
But so that was cool to me, too, to watch people's personal experiences with bananas. I think we all have a banana story.
Mary Beth Barone
I don't think we should be eating them in public.
Benito Skinner
I always think of the scene in Never Been Kissed where they put condoms on the banana.
Mary Beth Barone
No bananas in public, please.
Benito Skinner
No bananas in public.
Mary Beth Barone
If you open a banana on an airplane, too, that's crazy.
Benito Skinner
Oh, really?
Mary Beth Barone
The smell.
Benito Skinner
I don't think I've ever done it.
Mary Beth Barone
I don't think you've ever done that. That would be insane.
Benito Skinner
That feels crazy.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah.
Benito Skinner
I just keep coming back to banana splits. I love the. The taste of them. Chocolate banana milkshake. Come on.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah. Banana covered in chocolate. I really fudge with that.
Benito Skinner
Oh, I love. They have these. They're like. I got them in London recently. They're like, cut bananas and they dip them in chocolate, and they're like, sold us that.
Mary Beth Barone
And I. Yeah, I mean, I could eat those for a long time.
Benito Skinner
It's my favorite. I have this bit I've been doing. Have I done this to you yet? I think where I do girl on a date who, like, doesn't want to show her date that she's eating. So it's like
Mary Beth Barone
she holds the napkin up.
Benito Skinner
How much can she shield her? She gets under the belt.
Mary Beth Barone
I love that.
Benito Skinner
But yeah, banana. I want to stick one between my titties.
Mary Beth Barone
There's some fact about the DNA we share with bananas. I've misquoted it on this podcast in the past. I don't even remember the number I came up with to misquote it. But I know that we share a lot with them.
Benito Skinner
I know J.K. rowling could do something huge with one.
Mary Beth Barone
Oh, yeah? How about with a bunch? With a cluster even.
Benito Skinner
She's the one time where plural bananas work.
Mary Beth Barone
Or you will employ the plural bananas. Yeah, I wonder what she's up to.
Benito Skinner
That really tickled me. Sorry. I still got it.
Mary Beth Barone
Because you're picturing it, and I love that.
Benito Skinner
Well, I'm picturing everything, by the way.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah, no, I'm picturing it all.
Benito Skinner
I just thought about you falling on set again when you saw Tom. Oh, sorry. I've always had weakened ankles.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah, take my best.
Benito Skinner
You are so Magra from Hercules. It's crazy. Should we do that for Halloween?
Mary Beth Barone
I'm down. Oh, you and you being Hercules be so fun.
Benito Skinner
No, I'm Phoebus. Grow up. No, I'm Danny DeVito.
Mary Beth Barone
No, Pinky's Phoebus.
Benito Skinner
Oh, wait, no. Pinky's Pegasus.
Mary Beth Barone
I miss her.
Benito Skinner
I think about that horse sleeping sound more than I do the rallying cry from Hunger Games. Like, it's like. Because it's. It's me in a way.
Mary Beth Barone
It's you in a way.
Benito Skinner
Okay, so something about me is, if you're gonna boink me, it's gonna be on a Brooklyn Bedding mattress. Okay? Just deal with that. So I've started thinking about my mattress as a part of my recovery routine. So since switching to my mattress from Brooklyn Bedding, my spine feels supported, my body fully relaxes when I sleep, and I'm not fighting to get comfortable at night. I fall asleep faster and I wake up feeling genuinely restored. This shift has made a real difference in how I feel every day. And sometimes I wake up and don't want to slap the first person I talk to. Brooklyn Bedding designs and assembles every mattress in their Arizona factory. Zona girls rise. No middlemen, no no gimmicks. Just top tier quality, honest pricing and real American craftsmanship for a better night's sleep. Brooklyn betting is an all American success story. Just like Mary Beth Barone. A guy named John started a doll in Arizona. He learned the trade and trade and Built his business from the ground up without a college degree. Just like amb. Fast forward to today and it's still family run right here in the usa. Brooklyn Bedding no sleep isn't one size fits all. That's why they offer mattresses for everybody, every sleep style, even in hard to find sizes. Sleep hot Brooklyn Bedding uses Glaciotex, which is what I have. These are covers and they're copper infused foams and temperature regulating materials to help keep you cool and comfortable all night long. So daddy sweats and he wakes up in a pool of sweat and sometimes he thinks it's pee, but it's not. It's sweat. So Glaciotex really helps me. Not sure you can take Benny Drama's word for it. Well, Brooklyn Bedding has been awarded the best hybrid mattress by Wirecutter. Go to BrooklynBetting.com and use my promo code ride at checkout to get 30 off site wide. That's BrooklynBetting.com and promo code ride for 30 off site wide, exclusive with my code BrooklynBetting.com promo code no C D. Let's go. So, okay, relationships are intense. They make us care deeply, feel vulnerable, maybe even freak out a little sometimes. Sometimes that's human. But some people have relationship concerns that go far beyond standard ones. Like finding another person attractive, then immediately thinking, oh my God, does this mean I don't really love my partner? Or needing constant reassurance that your relationship is right or that you're not making the wrong choice because you never feel sure enough. Or asking yourself the same question hundreds of times a day, do I really love them? What if I'm wasting their time and searching for some feeling of certainty that never comes. Many people think these sorts of thoughts and anxieties are just overthinking or commitment issues, but they can actually be signs of relationship ocd. So many people think OCD is just about cleaning or organizing or making your books the kind of like, rainbow pattern. But that stereotype couldn't be more wrong. Real OCD is a serious condition. I have it where distressing, unwanted thoughts called intrusive thoughts get stuck on repeat and you feel compelled to do certain things, things mental or physical behaviors called compulsions to try to make the anxiety stop. With relationship ocd, compulsions might look like constantly seeking reassurance, replaying memories to see if you feel a spark, or comparing your partner to others. But what's given me so much hope is learning that OCD is one of the most treatable mental health conditions. When you get the right kind of specialized therapy. OCD needs ERP therapy, exposure and response prevention, which is proven to be the most effective treatment. And it did help me so much. NOCD is the world's leading OCD treatment provider and all of their licensed Therapists specialize in ERP therapy with NOCD is 100% virtual, covered by insurance for over 138 million Americans and includes support between sessions. So you never have to face OCD alone. Well, you never are anyway, because you're right here with me and my arms around you. If you consent to that. I love you, Stinky. To learn more about starting OCD therapy with no CD, go to nocd.com and book a free call with their team. That's nocd.com love you. In overcompensating, at one point in a scene, I am vaping and the flavor that they got me was banana and you're in heaven. Well, there's a. Apparently before a take, there's a scene of me smoking it with Holmes and Lucas Cage and we're all just passing it back and forth and while he's doing, like, smoke rings with it. And it's so cute.
Mary Beth Barone
I want a blooper reel. I.
Benito Skinner
We're going to try for a blooper reel this time. It's just like it is. Our editors have to make the show as well. Shout out our glorious editors Todd and Christian. I love you so much, but I, I. There's so many.
Mary Beth Barone
No excuses.
Benito Skinner
The one of I finally made Mary BETH BARONE Crack. Ms. Professional, Ms. Independent, Ms. Possessive, by the way. Yeah.
Mary Beth Barone
Season two, there's a lot of Expect the unexpected for sure.
Benito Skinner
Yeah. And I think Happier than Ever by Billie Eilish. She spilled on that song. That's all I'm gonna say.
Mary Beth Barone
Oh, I love that.
Benito Skinner
Yeah. That's just something. It's just, it's related to banana somehow.
Mary Beth Barone
I get that.
Benito Skinner
Yeah.
Mary Beth Barone
Can I just say I get that.
Benito Skinner
I know you do.
Mary Beth Barone
I want to talk about having wet nails as a concept, and then I want to talk about it as, like, an actual, like, state of being. So having wet nails is this beautiful experience for women and some straight guys.
Benito Skinner
Oh. When they're like, I guess I'll get a pedicure. And it's like, hey, Goblin, get one if you've got the. Hey, can I just say to anyone who's getting the dogs out, I have my dogs out right now. But here's the thing. I got a pedicure not a week ago. Like, I. If I'm gonna have the Dogs out.
Mary Beth Barone
You should get one.
Benito Skinner
We're gonna. We're gonna scrub, and I'm gonna giggle when they do it, and they're gonna laugh at me.
Mary Beth Barone
And it's a beautiful experience. Communal, I would say. You can get out of virtually anything by claiming that you have wet nails now, your nails. And this is something I've been actually bad at in the past, which is as soon as I'm done painting them, I'm on to the next thing because, you know, I'm going, going, going. But I'm really trying to live in the moment more. And I had to paint my nails constantly on the set of overcompensating because Grace has very dark nail polish. And so also, when you get gel, you really don't experience the joy and the beauty of having wet nails because they dry and underneath the UV lights. So I just think, like, there's something beautiful. It's like. It's womanhood to me. It's like giving yourself the time to just, like, sit. To just sit with your actions and your consequences of. I just got my nails painted. It's time for me to take a beat. Even texting, you can fuck them up.
Benito Skinner
I like when they just.
Mary Beth Barone
And I actually remember being at the nail salon. This was before they used to make you pay in the middle, where they would have you pay after you'd have to get your card out with wet nails. But then somebody, some genius had this idea that you pay in the middle.
Benito Skinner
Now, wait, that's like, God, women are genius.
Mary Beth Barone
I know. It's really beautiful.
Benito Skinner
Y' all really impress me.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah.
Benito Skinner
My favorite is when they put on those little flip flops that they give you for the road. Totally sneakers in and then putting those on. I am a little baby boy.
Mary Beth Barone
That solidarity with, like, your sisters. Do you get that? Like, they don't have to do that. They could just send you packing and with the socks on and, you know, you're taking them off, and it's a little crumbly.
Benito Skinner
Well, I know in that moment that they're girls. Girls when they do shit like that, that means the world to. But, oh, I love. I used to paint my toenails more. But then every now and then, I'd look down and seeing, like, the color pink on these, like, goblin toes with hair just felt, like, strange to me. So I've stopped yet.
Mary Beth Barone
You do full drag with Chester, But I get it.
Benito Skinner
That's very different. Those are my tatas.
Mary Beth Barone
That's actually very different.
Benito Skinner
That's my rackolina.
Mary Beth Barone
I think we, as women Just need to sort of enter the state of, like, mentally just thinking, well, my nails are wet. I can't do anything. I just have to, like, I have to exist where I'm at right now. I'm trying so hard to be better about that and not just be always on.
Benito Skinner
Live in the moment.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah. It's like, well, okay, I could start this thing that, like, I'm putting pressure on myself to do. You know how it's like sometimes you can just like be on a beach in your mind. I just have wet nails in my mind. I'm just like, no, I'm sitting still.
Benito Skinner
Good things come to those who wait.
Mary Beth Barone
Who wait.
Benito Skinner
That's the whole meal. When the guy's staring at daddy's titties,
Mary Beth Barone
she goes up here, up here.
Benito Skinner
My eyes are right here. And she points to her nose. Things come to those who wait. And then she eats three olives.
Mary Beth Barone
I know Daddy has a lot of nail art.
Benito Skinner
Or she eats a lychee from her lychee.
Mary Beth Barone
Oh, yeah.
Benito Skinner
Well, lychee is her fourth drink. Oh, of course. She's chewing it and has to go.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah,
Benito Skinner
I put too many things in my mouth at once at a meal. I've realized recently, like, I think dumplings are not a two biter for me.
Mary Beth Barone
Well, I've been having this really honest conversation about sushi lately, which is that I want a special roll. Okay. I want the one that has fish on top. Fish eggs and crunchy stuff. Okay. And spicy mayo.
Benito Skinner
Damn, girl.
Mary Beth Barone
Here's the problem.
Benito Skinner
Yeah.
Mary Beth Barone
It's not really a one bite situation. And if you try to bite it in half, make it two it, there's an avalanche comes out of your mouth. So I'm trying to figure out what's the best thing for me.
Benito Skinner
Do you want to date with Armie Hammer? He's your next one, by the way.
Mary Beth Barone
Oh, for sure.
Benito Skinner
Yeah.
Mary Beth Barone
I have a whole list of people.
Benito Skinner
Yeah.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah. And it's gonna just get worse and
Benito Skinner
worse, me having to follow Armie Hammer. I'm like, God, she's killing me. I'm like, she's killing me. Oh, fuck.
Mary Beth Barone
No, I. It crossed my. It's funny you say Army Hammer. It fully crossed my mind of like, oh, that would be a bad one. You know what I mean?
Benito Skinner
Well, of course. Yeah. We have to know the, like, the worst to get to the.
Mary Beth Barone
There's so many worse ones.
Benito Skinner
Ultimately, we just can't introduce the kids to anyone ever again.
Mary Beth Barone
And to be clear, I actually didn't that far. So I think this idea of living in the Moment. It's been huge for me especially. And I will say this has come up more because, like, when things are going kind of bad, you don't want to live in the moment, right? Because, like, you just have to get through it. Since things have started, like, going a little bit better, like, with work stuff, I'm like, oh, okay, I'm filming my Netflix special right now. Coming to Netflix July 28th. I just want to remember what this moment feels like. I want to be like, don't go on to the next thing. Just sit where you are. Sit with it. And okay, I'm here recording the second episode of the fourth season of Ride the Podcast.
Benito Skinner
You guys, like, what a gift. At Melrose Podcast.
Mary Beth Barone
At Melrose Podcast.
Benito Skinner
We gotta stop telling them when they're at. They're gonna.
Mary Beth Barone
At the Geneva Convention.
Benito Skinner
At the Gene. We're in Switzerland. I think that's beautiful. I think it's so hard. Well, Zara Larson once said that's the thing with the ambition. And I do think about that a lot because it's always go, go, go. And instead it's like, no, that moment is magical. This moment of having a new color on my nails is magical. And also, it's kind of hard to be patient. Wait. But as. As I just said, good things come to those who wait. You just have to, like, breathe through it. I saw this interesting interview. I wonder where it was. But it was Emma Watson, and she said something about, like, it can't always be the reaping. And I thought about that and I thought, fuck you, Emma Watson, bitch. You fucking bitch.
Mary Beth Barone
Sometimes it's the sewing.
Benito Skinner
It's the sewing. And you have to just, like, allow that. But, oh, my God, it's so hard because I'm in the phase, too, of, like, I just want the show done. Like, I want to be done. But it's like, how about I have some fun with editing and we're making music right now. And that's really fun to, like, get to play with that and see different jokes that work and try and. But yes, sitting in it. I think that's really beautiful. You should be so proud. The special is so good. But I didn't make this podcast. And, yeah, it's me who made it so that you could plug your
Mary Beth Barone
Go
Benito Skinner
and make your own money so that you have to leave me.
Mary Beth Barone
Wait. I wish that we could. I wish that we could be honest about financials on this podcast. Just like, what it looks like.
Benito Skinner
Oh, totally.
Mary Beth Barone
In our jobs, where it's going, can I say you're Wrong, incoming, outcoming, all that type of deal. I just wish we could have more
Benito Skinner
financial transparency, and I wish that it was across the board, because there are some people I'm seeing in things, and I'm thinking, I want to see your financials. What did you do right? I do think that the story of Rosemary's Baby is true, because there's a few people where I'm like, I do think you have a deal with the devil.
Mary Beth Barone
I agree.
Benito Skinner
And I've just seen darkness in people's eyes recently that has alerted me to it. And, like, I do think I'm one of God's witnesses here, and I'm. I'm sniffing some. Some Luciferians out.
Mary Beth Barone
I know it's like we'll never know,
Benito Skinner
but I just am, like, it's all not making sense to me. There's a different deal you've made.
Mary Beth Barone
Yeah, we. And with the deal we weren't offered, we never had a chance to even see.
Benito Skinner
I would love to be offered. Can I just say, I would give you up in a minute.
Mary Beth Barone
I know.
Benito Skinner
What? Nine months of pregnant, like, pregnancy. You get through it.
Mary Beth Barone
That's the deal.
Benito Skinner
Yeah, you get through it. You leave it with a pixie cut. Come on. C. File alert. Come on.
Mary Beth Barone
C. Oh, God.
Benito Skinner
What? You miss me?
Mary Beth Barone
The special is receiving Maha Mama Maha. Oh, and Ma Maribethe.
Benito Skinner
I will be riding for Ma very soon. That's all I'm going to say. I think Ma is like, it's as special as anything could be to me, but I just. I'm making Mary very bad lip sync
Mary Beth Barone
to Ma, and that's going to be explosive when it launches.
Benito Skinner
Yes.
Mary Beth Barone
I would say for me, I do ride for bananas. And something that just came to me.
Benito Skinner
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Mary Beth Barone
What?
Benito Skinner
I didn't ride for bananas.
Mary Beth Barone
Oh, sorry. Banana.
Benito Skinner
Thank you, honey.
Mary Beth Barone
It's very cool that we share a love of this food with the monkeys.
Benito Skinner
I am monkey.
Mary Beth Barone
I know, but it's like. It's cool that it's like, oh, we don't have to really do anything to it. Like, we. And we. And the monkeys are enjoying it. Prepared the same way.
Benito Skinner
In that moment, I realized I should have been in Planet of the Apes, because if they had a gay monkey, say, I am monkey, like, that would have been so.
Mary Beth Barone
Either way, they're gonna make those movies for the rest of time, so don't worry.
Benito Skinner
Those were really good.
Mary Beth Barone
When they were good, the Planet of the Apes focused on the LGBTQ community within.
Benito Skinner
Yeah, exactly. Well, it's mutant and proud in so many ways. There is a. A superhero. Sometimes I'm fan casted as because of my butt.
Mary Beth Barone
Oh, cool.
Benito Skinner
I don't know who it is, so if you know, tell us. I can't imagine anyone who listens to this podcast would know, but, hey, surprise me.
Mary Beth Barone
I think it's great that banana as a flavor is available for those that love it and that bananas are such a good snack if you have to have it on the go. But it's something you can just eat quickly. In my case, eat half of quickly. Or maybe put it on some toast with some peanut butter and honey if you're feeling sort of spicy that day.
Benito Skinner
I love that. I love putting it on a rice cake with. With cashew.
Mary Beth Barone
Oh, that's good.
Benito Skinner
Not almond butter. I've moved on from almond butter. I'm cashew butter.
Mary Beth Barone
I love sunflower butter.
Benito Skinner
Sunflower butter is so good. I also love pecan butter. Is like, you're not gonna find it. Or maybe even pecan butter if you're disgusting. But that is really fabulous nut butter. Episode Incoming.
Mary Beth Barone
Incoming. I look forward to when you get to go to Japan and have one of those coffees.
Benito Skinner
And I'm gonna have to film it because you have to film everything now, right?
Mary Beth Barone
Oh, okay. Thank you for saying that. Because I think for me, it's sort of like, it's sort of parallel to the idea of having wet nails. It's just like some things are just for. In person in that moment. Obviously, that's me coming from, like, filming a Netflix special that is a live performance that we're putting out there. But, like, every live performance along the way was for the people in that room. I'm trying to leave my phone at home more. I'm trying to not take so many pictures that I'll never look at again. Like, and I do want to remember moments. Of course I have my digital camera. That feels a little more intentional than, like, taking the phone out because it's just so easy. But even at the concert for Rosalia, it was like, I actually didn't really take that many pictures because I was just like, I just want to watch it.
Benito Skinner
Yeah.
Mary Beth Barone
This is for me right now in person. This is a memory I will have if I'm actually mentally and spiritually in this room.
Benito Skinner
It's the best show I've ever seen, I will say. And I saw Lord at the All Things Go festival, which was lovely. It's run by women. I didn't know that that full festival was. It was. It makes sense because it was the most beautiful, lovely, inviting environment I've ever been in. Met a lot of brownies that night. They were very cute. Lord set for these festivals is like the best thing I've ever experienced. I also love that she just leaked all the demos for Virgin.
Mary Beth Barone
I've been ripping something about that.
Benito Skinner
Oh, it's a dream. But I agree. I tried to do that on set where I'd be like, we could film something quickly and like kind of do the fun social thing, which obviously you have to promote the show and it is fun to do those with you guys, but.
Mary Beth Barone
And we did get a lot of that.
Benito Skinner
Yeah. But then I'm like, I had so many fun days on set when it was like, you or Connie or like just Tom. I mean, Tom and I are in it a lot together. So it just like chatting was really nice. And I think it is this thing where like, if I'm. If I'm posting a letter on my phone a lot, it means I'm like, probably not feeling great. Like I'm just trying to search for something and I just feel like, oh, it's after kind of also making a show that's like quote unquote about my life. I do think it's nice to have things that feel like, private and to not have to worry about like a photo or how you look or anything like that.
Mary Beth Barone
I know, it's just so stressful. And I saw this article that I didn't read, but someone explained it to me about like how life has gotten way too frictionless, like ordering stuff and not having to go outside and like, you know, not having to interact with people. And I'm actually craving that more. Like.
Benito Skinner
Yeah.
Mary Beth Barone
So instead of last night, for example, donut plant, it's open till 11pm I thought maybe they have some gluten free donuts left. I walked there at like.
Benito Skinner
You broke it.
Mary Beth Barone
8:30. I smashed the window.
Benito Skinner
Yeah. You took a bat to the window.
Mary Beth Barone
I held up one of the employees by their neck.
Benito Skinner
It's insane. My brain can picture all of this so vividly. You with pinky in one arm, by the way. Yeah, Beyonce.
Mary Beth Barone
Well, I've been working out the bat, so I went there and instead of getting it delivered, because I could have gotten it delivered, but I decided to walk and experience that outside in the heat and I'm just more experiences as opposed to like trying to live for the Internet because. Because the Internet's not real. It's not real.
Benito Skinner
It's not.
Mary Beth Barone
The people that come up to us and, and we meet out in the world, those are real and they're the babies. We know the beautiful women and gay men at Obsess Fest. The meet and greet was. It made the whole trip feels so worth it.
Benito Skinner
It was incredible. That was like, oh, my God. Also, Jade, I loved your letter. Sweetie, if you're listening, it was beautiful and I think you'll be a great writer.
Mary Beth Barone
Read it to me.
Benito Skinner
Send me the DM me your scripts.
Mary Beth Barone
Read it to me.
Benito Skinner
I was like, wait, you're talking about these scripts? I want them. Give me. Give me the pages.
Mary Beth Barone
Give me the sacred text.
Benito Skinner
But I. I totally agree. I love. I love waiting for. What's it.
Mary Beth Barone
Having wet nails.
Benito Skinner
I love having wet nails. I don't have it a lot. Well, the last time I probably had wet nails is when I tried to stop biting. But I loved the taste of the stop biting stuff. It was bitter and chic. It was herbal. So I'm like, oh, nice try.
Mary Beth Barone
Not gonna work.
Benito Skinner
Try again. I eat ass. Try again.
Mary Beth Barone
You do what?
Benito Skinner
Mutant and proud. But of course I write for it. I think it's amazing. I love watching my sisters coming home when they used to have nails done and, like, me driving them sometimes sitting in the chair next to them. My mom is a gel girl, so they're dry when that bitch hits the. The freaking Volvo.
Mary Beth Barone
I might do gel for press. I haven't decided. They just look so tidy and they don't chip, so we'll see.
Benito Skinner
I know they're not good for you.
Mary Beth Barone
Mess up my nails.
Benito Skinner
Sometimes seeing someone get the gels off their nails are a color of yellow. That's. I wouldn't say that's the banana I'm buying in the store.
Mary Beth Barone
No, honey. Well, I had to take mine off for overcompensating, and it. The color was fine, but the texture.
Benito Skinner
Oh. So after I just said that, I went lava. Like, I just completely stopped saying a word in the middle. And you can do that.
Mary Beth Barone
But I, you know, notice I didn't comment. That's another thing.
Benito Skinner
Hey, you can quit.
Mary Beth Barone
Let it go by. We hope you enjoyed this Return to the Clay ride the podcast, season four.
Benito Skinner
That is so true. That's what I've. It's so funny you said that I literally was going to ride for When Lord said, Return to the Clay. And also when she said, leave it out. Leave it all on the field. Because those are two things I've been thinking about a lot. I'm back in New York City, baby. And boy, does it feel, man. Fantastic. Je suis de la monde. Oh, my. Exit.
Mary Beth Barone
Benny, babe, eyes on the road. Benny, look.
Episode: Banana + Having Wet Nails
Date: July 22, 2026
Network: Dear Media
In this witty and fast-moving conversation, besties Benito Skinner and Mary Beth Barone gleefully launch into their signature blend of banter and cultural musings. The central theme: each host rides for a seemingly mundane but secretly profound "thing"—Benito with "Banana" and Mary Beth with "Having Wet Nails." Along the way, they riff on nostalgia, self-acceptance, friendship rituals, and living in the moment, blending absurd humor with unexpectedly genuine insights. The conversation is punctuated with memorable callbacks, inside jokes, and sharp cultural observations.
“I want to be more real on here.” — Benito (03:05)
“As a kid, I just—I think I was like, yeah, he’s hot to me. Yeah. Same with Balto.” — Benito (08:21–08:31) “Balto was universally sexy, though.” — Mary Beth (08:31)
“You can get out of virtually anything by claiming that you have wet nails.” — Mary Beth (28:24) “There’s something beautiful. It’s like womanhood to me. It’s like giving yourself the time to just, like, sit.” — Mary Beth (28:08)
“So I said, fuck it. I’m gonna put banana syrup in my coffee. Haters be damned.” — Benito (15:04)
“No bananas in public, please.” — Mary Beth (20:39–20:43)
“This idea of living in the moment. It’s been huge for me, especially… I just want to remember what this moment feels like.” — Mary Beth (32:41) “It can’t always be the reaping.” — Emma Watson, quoted by Benito (33:33)
“Some things are just for… in person, in that moment. Obviously, that’s me coming from, like, filming a Netflix special… But, like, every live performance along the way was for the people in that room.” — Mary Beth (37:28)
“The internet’s not real. It’s not real… The people that come up to us and, and we meet out in the world, those are real and they're the babies.” — Mary Beth (40:17)
“I do think the story of Rosemary’s Baby is true… there’s a few people where I’m like, I do think you have a deal with the devil.” — Benito (34:30)
True to form, the conversation is fast, irreverent, heartfelt, and frequently hilarious. Both Benito and Mary Beth riff off each other's quirks, maintaining a self-aware, bimbo-chic style while delivering sharp cultural observations. Even the silliest detours (“I am monkey,” “No bananas in public”) are delivered with sincerity and warmth.
This episode is a microcosm of what makes “Ride” so beloved: niche obsessions (bananas, wet nails), vulnerable confessions, pop-culture deep dives, and a clarion call to pause, unplug, and appreciate even the most ridiculous everyday moments. If you ride for friendship, food, and nail polish—or just want to hear two besties make each other crack up—you’ll live/die for this episode.
