1) We can choose to do right even when we do not feel right.

A) Emotional outbursts can reflect our lack of ability to maintain the peace, joy and contentment thermostat of Christ in our lives.
B) A Christian should be guided by Biblical principles, not by feelings.
C) The joy of the Lord is our strength in every situation and circumstance (Ephesians 3:20).

2) We can spend as much energy on getting right before the Lord as we do being hateful and vindictive to others.
A) Our emotional balance is a reflection of our personal connection to Jesus Christ.
B) Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 5:9-10).
C) Our feelings are not “the truth.” They simply reveal our comfort level in life at a given moment.

3) Paul says to take every thought and make it obedient to Christ (I Corinthians 10:5-6).
A) We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13).
B) Paul encourages us not be anxious about anything but to present our requests to God with thanksgiving.
C) James says we are to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry (James 1:19).
