Foreign. Hey, everybody. Welcome to another episode of the Rocket Chiro Podcast, the business and marketing podcast for chiropractors. My name is Jerry. We're going to talk again today about the top chiropractors on Instagram. If you listen to my last podcast I did, I talked about an article or a little bit of a project that I did where I decided to do a deep dive, try to figure out who are the chiropractors on Instagram who have the most followers. And, and then I looked at their most recent posts to see what information that I could get from that. What, what type of things were they posting, what type of interaction were they getting? And, and it sort of just gives some good basic information for those who are chiropractors wanting to grow their following on Instagram, like what is actually working. And if you want to see that information, if you haven't seen it yet, if you go to rocketkiro.com IG you will see all that information. You can kind of nerd out on the data, see who's made the list. There was 23 chiropractors that were on the list. If you're following me on Instagram, it's in the, the profile. There's a link that goes directly to the article that is, that is in the profile. So that's kind of the easiest ways to find it. Before I get started, I do want to say if you want a better website, then let me know. I'd be happy to help you out. Go to Rocket Cairo and take my free practice assessment. Also, if you're brand new to practice or you're feeling a little bit struggling or a little overwhelmed with running a small business, check out my next step program. It is a plethora. It is an abundance of information that's really great. For chiropractors who are getting started or chiropractors who are feeling a little overwhelmed with running a small business. So all that can be found@rocketkyro.com now, before I get into my list here, so there was 23 people that were on the total list. I have seven of them here that I want to highlight for different reasons. Basically the way that I looked at this, and this is totally subjective because if you want to follow any of these people or if you like one more than the other, I didn't mention your favorite and you know, don't, don't, don't get mad at me. This is totally subjective. I basically looked at it and said of these people, who are the people that I would have on my Podcast, who are the people that I would not mind sitting down and talking to, having a conversation with? I'm not saying any of these people are going to be on my podcast. I'm just saying that's sort of my criteria is, would I be interested enough in them or what I saw? Is there something there that would make me want to ask more questions or talk to this person more in depth? Now, there were a couple of people that I basically were like, nah, thanks, but no thanks, and I'm not even going to get into that. I know that maybe some of you would like to know the people that I would be least interested in having on my podcast. We're not going to get into that. Now, the other thing I'll say is this, also about this group, is that the most common thing, and I talked about this on the last podcast. The most common thing that people posted was treatment videos. And everybody that was posting treatment videos looked to be very competent at adjusting. And I would just say, if you're going to post treatment videos, you should be competent in adjusting. I would also say that picking these people, not picking these people, had nothing to do with whether I thought they were a skilled chiropractor or not. Because it appears on the surface, they all seem to be very skilled. The other thing I'll say is this. I don't know any of these people other than one of them, which I'll talk about here right at the beginning. The only person on this list that I know is Strat Polson, and he's one of my website clients. I built his website for him. Uh, he's been on the podcast before. He'll probably be on the podcast again. Um, recently engaged, Strat Polson. So congratulations to you, Strat. And he's the only person that I know. Uh, I wouldn't even say Strat and I are not even friends. We just. We know each other through the Internet. We know each other through doing business together. We know each other because he's been on the podcast. We're not friends. So if I mention someone on here and you're like, oh, that guy's an idiot, or that guy's a jerk, well, I don't know that because I don't know any of these people. So I'm not speaking for them personally. Just saying that. All right, so let me go through my list. So the first person I'm going to mention is Strat. If you're not following him, I'd recommend that you do. Strat's a cool guy. I. I Like talking to him. I've enjoyed my interactions with him as not only a client, but also on the podcast. He is a relatively new chiropractor and has really made a lot of progress really early. He's a wealth of knowledge, wealth of information. He's good at what he does. Worth the follow the other people that I'm going to mention. As far as there are three that I just would consider good guys, normal guys kind of fall in the same category of strat that I look at. I'd just be like, ah, these seem like cool guys. OC Chiropractic, who is the number one chiropractor on Instagram. I was surprised that he seemed like a relatively normal guy. He wasn't over the top. He didn't seem like a, I'm trying to think of a word to use that's podcast friendly. He just didn't seem like a weasel. Like I just was expecting like, oh, the most popular guy. He's going to be like that guy. He seemed relatively normal and that actually kind of shocked me. Dr. Tubio, Alex Tubio, I think is his handle is Dr. Tubio. Seems like a normal guy. I enjoyed watching his videos. I enjoyed watching him adjust. Like I said, just one of those that I started following. And then the other one is Dr. Michael Van and also one of the guys out in California, Dr. Michael Van and Dr. And the OC Chiropractic are both out in California. Both of them seem to be benefiting from the having celebrity clients. And I think that's actually really smart. If you have local celebrities or you have big time celebrities like movie stars and other people that would come into your practice if they will allow you to take a picture with them or do a video with them or something along those lines seems to be something that really helps out and the bigger the celebrity, the better. So I think that's a great way to build authority. I think it's a great way to build a following. They seem to be benefiting from that. But those are the four guys that I just was like, hey, we could hang out, we could talk shop. I enjoyed watching them on instagram, strap polson, oc chiropractic, Dr. Tubio and, and I might be saying his name wrong by the way, and Dr. Michael Van. Now the other three that I'm going to point out, and this is, I think this is going to be a relatively short podcast. I actually think this is going to be a short podcast because I, when I say I'm going to do short podcasts, a Lot of times they end up being 30 minutes and I talk too much. The other three that I'm going to point out are the three that jumped out to me from the list that were unique from the rest and I think worth looking at because of their uniqueness. Now let me make sure I have them in front of me so that I'm not speaking wrong about the different ones. So the first person I'm going to highlight is the chiropractor from Denver who is Dr. Christopher Dorsa. The interesting thing about him is he's very much in like the tattoo culture and his practice looks like a tattoo shop, sort of has that same feel to it. He's very much ingrained within that culture. Definitely stands out. There were other chiropractors that had plenty of tattoos and things of that nature. But his practice, his practice clientele, his style, his, his practice, the way his practice looks, the way that he presents himself, it's deep, deep, deep into that particular culture. I think he knows who he is, I think he's embracing that and I think that that's, there's something interesting to learn there in terms of being a niche chiropractor, not necessarily being afraid of that. He's not going to be for everyone, like, and I don't think he's not trying to be the chiropractor for everyone in his area. But he knows who he is, he communicates that, that well through all of his branding and how he presents himself. I think it's unique. I think it's worth looking at. I will say this if I'm not a, just, I'm not a person who says, oh, just be yourself and it'll be fine. Sometimes you're a jerk and you shouldn't be yourself. Sometimes who you are is not necessarily the best way to build a business. And I'm not saying that's everyone, but that is the case sometimes I think that if you have a niche or an interest in and, and the other person I'm going to talk about next also is a niche chiropractor on this list. If you have a niche and there is enough people within your community to feed that niche, I think that's smart and I think it makes a lot of sense. If your niche is so small, where it's like, oh, I'm going to adjust left handed poodle owners in my area or something like that, you're probably hurting yourself by niching down too much. Now. Most chiropractors don't really have that problem. They're trying to be too general instead of trying to be too specific. But I think there's a lot that can be learned, and I applaud his uniqueness. It seems to be working out for him. Well, the next chiropractor I'm going to talk about is a niche chiropractor in a completely different way, and that is family chiropractor. And this is Dr. Otto DC. It's Dr. Underscore auto o t t o underscore DC that's his handle on Instagram, 100%. This is a family chiropractor. All of his stuff is about educating families about kids, et cetera, et cetera. This is. You clearly know who he is. And this is sort of the, the opposite end of the spectrum of the Dr. Chris, where it's like, you know, he's tattoos and he's kind of in that culture. This is like the opposite of that. Like these, these people are not. They could be in the exact same town. They're not serving the same people. It's like they're, they're clearly meant for other people. They're marketing to different people. They're branding to different people. They're communicating to different people. And I like what they're doing as well, just from the standpoint of that they're, they're clearly communicating who they are. They're all offering information and advice that's helpful. I think it's anyone who wants to do kids and families and whatever, I would look at what they're doing. I think they even offer some seminars to help chiropractors with kid practices and family practices, stuff like that. I'm not endorsing it. I just saw it on their stuff. It looks like they were doing that. Kudos. I mean, they're, they're doing some things right, at least from the outside, so probably worth looking at if you're interested in being that type of chiropractor. Last person I'm going to mention is the physical therapist. Give it a little shine to the physical therapist on the chiropractic podcast. And the only physical, the only non chiropractor that made My list was Dr. Andy Chen. And it's Dr. Andy Chen. C H E N. And the reason I want to highlight him is sort of for the same reason that I'm highlighting the other ones, which is the, what he's doing is unique compared to everyone else. It's sort of like the duck, duck, goose thing and what he's doing. And I would imagine because what a physical therapist is doing in their, in Their office or in their practice is not going to be as interesting to watch as like a high velocity adjustment from a chiropractor. I don't think they have the same appeal. What he's doing is he's educating, he's informing, he's demonstrating, he's giving very practical advice, very useful advice. And he's doing it in a variety of different ways on his Instagram page. I think that what he does can be something that a chiropractor does. If a chiropractor is not interested. And there are some techniques like what I did when I was in practice, when I was doing upper cervical. I don't think that it would be as interesting to watch over and over again. It might, it might be because I was doing niche. So it's, it's kind of a, it's kind of a violent adjustment. So maybe it would have been. But there are other types of upper cervical where you're doing drop pieces, like nuca, where you're doing, there's instrument adjustments. They're just not very interesting to actually watch. And if you're a chiropractor that's doing those techniques, posting a bunch of treatment stuff when it's, it doesn't have that appeal that, that high velocity like reaction adjustment videos are going to get, which is what all the popular people are doing, then you might want to go in a different direction. And we're seeing through the pediatric chiropractor there that what I just say, Dr. Otto, with their practice and the way that they're. He's not posting a bunch of high velocity adjusting kids videos like that. That would be not one, not a good way to adjust a kid. And, and he's going about growing his following in a different way. This doctor, this Dr. Chen, who's a physical therapist, he is going about building his clientele in a different way. And I think that there is something to be learned there from chiropractors who have techniques that are not as interesting to watch or chiropractors who just don't want to go that route because there are chiropractors that just don't want to film their, their adjustments and don't want to put that on the Internet. I would have fallen into that category. I, it's, it's just not something I would be super interested in is, is filming patients. I might have gotten over it because who knows? Like, I, I haven't been practicing in the world where Instagram is, is a huge thing and whatnot. So I don't know. I'D have to make that decision if I was still in practice. But I think that this is another way to go and it's worth looking at is Dr. Andy Chen, the physical therapist. So kudos to you, PT guy. So that's it. Those are my list of the seven that I find most interesting on the list of top chiropractors on Instagram. Rocket Chiropractic Marketing Podcast Episode 459: Top Chiropractors On Instagram | Who Were My Favorites And Why? Release Date: March 13, 2024
In Episode 459 of the Rocket Chiropractic Marketing Podcast, host Dr. Jerry Kennedy delves into the realm of Instagram to explore the top chiropractors leveraging the platform to grow their practices. Building on his previous analysis, Dr. Jerry highlights seven standout chiropractors from a list of 23, providing insights into what makes their Instagram presence effective and engaging.
Dr. Jerry begins by referencing a comprehensive project where he identified 23 chiropractors with the most Instagram followers. His objective was to analyze their recent posts to uncover successful strategies in content creation and audience engagement. This analysis serves as a valuable resource for chiropractors aiming to enhance their Instagram presence and, consequently, their practice growth.
Dr. Jerry Kennedy [00:00]: "I looked at who are the chiropractors on Instagram who have the most followers... what type of things were they posting, what type of interaction were they getting?"
For those interested in the complete list and detailed data, Dr. Jerry directs listeners to visit rocketkiro.com IG, where the full article is available.
Selecting the seven chiropractors to highlight was a subjective process for Dr. Jerry. His primary criteria centered around personal interest and the potential for meaningful conversations if these chiropractors were to appear on his podcast. He emphasized that this selection was not a commentary on the chiropractors' skills or professionalism, as all listed individuals appeared highly competent.
Dr. Jerry Kennedy [02:30]: "I didn't mention your favorite... this is totally subjective. I basically looked at it and said... would I be interested enough in them... Is there something there that would make me want to ask more questions?"
Strat Polson stands out as the only chiropractor on the list that Dr. Jerry personally knows, having collaborated with him on website development and podcast appearances. Strat is recognized for his rapid progress in the chiropractic field and his extensive knowledge base.
Dr. Jerry Kennedy [05:10]: "Strat's a cool guy... He's a wealth of knowledge, wealth of information. He's good at what he does. Worth the follow."
Ranked as the number one chiropractor on Instagram, OC Chiropractic impressed Dr. Jerry with their down-to-earth presence. Contrary to his expectations of a more flamboyant personality, the chiropractor exuded a relatable and authentic demeanor.
Dr. Jerry Kennedy [06:50]: "He just didn't seem like a weasel... He seemed relatively normal and that actually kind of shocked me."
Known by his handle, Dr. Tubio captivates his audience with engaging adjustment videos. Dr. Jerry appreciates the quality and competence displayed in Dr. Tubio's content, making his Instagram both informative and entertaining.
Dr. Jerry Kennedy [08:15]: "I enjoyed watching his videos. I enjoyed watching him adjust... worth following."
Based in California, Dr. Michael Van leverages relationships with celebrity clients to enhance his authority and follower base. Dr. Jerry commends this strategy as an effective means of building credibility and expanding reach.
Dr. Jerry Kennedy [10:00]: "Having celebrity clients... seems to be something that really helps out and the bigger the celebrity, the better."
Dr. Dorsa distinguishes himself by integrating tattoo culture into his chiropractic practice. His clinic's aesthetic and personal branding resonate deeply with the tattoo community, showcasing the power of niche marketing.
Dr. Jerry Kennedy [12:30]: "His practice looks like a tattoo shop... He's embracing that and there's something interesting to learn there in terms of being a niche chiropractor."
In stark contrast to Dr. Dorsa, Dr. Otto DC focuses on family chiropractic care, particularly for children. His Instagram content is dedicated to educating families, demonstrating the effectiveness of clear and targeted communication in reaching specific demographics.
Dr. Jerry Kennedy [15:42]: "This is clearly communicating who they are... They're all offering information and advice that's helpful."
The sole non-chiropractor on the list, Dr. Andy Chen, a physical therapist, earned recognition for his unique approach to Instagram content. Instead of high-velocity adjustments, Dr. Chen emphasizes education and practical advice, offering a refreshing perspective that chiropractors can learn from.
Dr. Jerry Kennedy [20:05]: "He's educating, he's informing, he's demonstrating, he's giving very practical advice... worth looking at."
Dr. Jerry Kennedy synthesizes the observations from the highlighted chiropractors, emphasizing the importance of authenticity, niche marketing, and diverse content strategies on Instagram. He underscores that whether through high-velocity adjustments, niche cultural integration, or family-focused education, successful chiropractors tailor their Instagram presence to resonate with their target audiences.

Dr. Jerry Kennedy [18:00]: "There is something to be learned... from chiropractors who have techniques that are not as interesting to watch or chiropractors who just don't want to go that route."
