See you. Listen, if y'all have been around here a while, then you know, you know that when I first learned about SEO, I first heard what it was. I, one, didn't know what it was and two, I was like, ew, that sounds like exactly zero fun. No, thank you and goodbye. But then just strictly because of my competitive nature probably, and you know, just the Lord directing me, um, I started to dig into SEO and I realized if it's hard for me, it's probably hard for a lot of other people. So let's make this as simple and effective as possible. And thus, ah, the birth of this podcast and business, which is now at over 200 episodes. But there are still some just SEO myths that hold so many people back. And today we're going to tackle three of those SEO myths and just kick them in the teeth. All right, all right. The first SEO myth that I want to just kick in the teeth, okay, is that SEO is only for super techie people. Now, obviously, you need to know how to turn on a computer and use the Internet to do SEO, right? Like, I'm not trying to teach SEO to a caveman. But also, you don't need to be like Steve Urkel level pocket protector to learn how to use SEO to grow your own business. Now, I am not somebody who enjoys like the super, super, super technical side of SEO. Some of that, yes, is still kind of hard, not gonna lie. But to do the like 80% results things for your SEO, to do the things that are really gonna move the needle for SEO, it really isn't that hard. And thankfully we live in the world of YouTube where we can just Google little bitty things and we can learn so much amazing, valuable free information on the Internet, on podcasts, on YouTube videos. So really, if you will just kind of get rid of that, that block, should you call it that, that SEO is only for super techie people. If you will get over that, I promise you, if you can figure out how to play a podcast, you. You can figure out how to do SEO for your own website. Because thank the Lord, I figured it out. So I'm teaching you how to do it too. Okay? Okay. Now myth number two, okay, that I feel like it holds so many people back is this. People tell me I'm not a blogger, so I will not ever rank with blogs. Now, I get that. I get that I like to write, so writing is fun for me. But I still wouldn't consider myself an air quote blogger. Somebody who travels and takes a bunch of pictures and posts a bunch of pictures on their blog and does, you know, affiliate links and affiliate marketing on their blog. Like, that's just not how I want to live my life. And yet I still rank, right? And my clients stuff still ranks. Because the fact of the matter is gone are the days where you just have to take a bunch of pictures of your kids or, you know, your projects or all of your travels to rank within air quote blog. One of my favorite aspects of blogging, slash it is my favorite, is that blogs and blogging strategically can be used for your business. I'm not here to teach you how to turn your blogging into a business. I'm teaching you how to use blogging as a tool to grow your business. And because as a business owner, you know so many amazing things about your product, about how to help your people, your blogs are going to be more didactic in nature, meaning teaching in nature. And so they are going to be serving people and answering questions that are searched. So you don't have to take the blogger air quotes or influencer approach to blogging to be effective with your blogging. Because you're not trying to do that. You are trying to not get affiliate traffic from 900,000 ads. No, you're trying to use your blog to get traffic for your business. And leads for your business. And it's. It's a different mindset, and one that I honestly think is much easier. All right, and the third myth holding so many people back is this, that SEO and Google is too temperamental. And I'm here to tell you right now, y'all, I have my own website and multiple client websites that we manage and just check on in the back end. And if you build the right way, like we teach, like we do, like we try to do, you're gonna ride the al. The Google updates just fine. Like, I cannot tell you how many bloggers that I've read, post from and seen in Facebook groups that they are. They have been freaking out for the last two and a half years with the Google updates because, oh, their traffic dropped here. Oh, their traffic drop here. And so their affiliate, you know, money is tanking or whatever. But honest to goodness, we have seen no changes, like, no big drops or no big dips in any of our stuff or any of our clients stuff. And I honestly think that it's because the way that we have learned to do SEO is it's really steady. Right? Like, it's not gonna. You're not. I'm not chasing trends. I want to help you set up your website for SEO success long term, put the keywords in the right place. Yes. But you're also not trying to outsmart Google at its own game. You are helping Google index you for the right things instead of just trying to get vanity metrics, traffic that aren't. That isn't ultimately driving to a sale. So that myth that SEO is too trendy and Google is too temperamental, I just want to kick that myth straight in the teeth, because from personal experience and client experience again and again and again and again and again, it can be steady. All right, great. A great SEO strategy, a great, solid service. First, SEO strategy is steady.
