I have a whole boot camp day dedicated towards your mindset as a Christian business owner. So I have just recently been dipping my toe into sports psychology, like learning about sports psychology and you know, how the mental aspect, the mental part of performing better at your sports because I have this kick butt new barrel horse and just really working on, you know, my performance as, as a writer and as a barrel racer. And so I've really been like putting a lot of thought and effort into the mental side of, of my, my hobby, my passion, that business, so to speak. And, but truth be told, I have always been fascinated by why we do what we do and don't do. And the truth of the matter is how we think about something greatly impacts how well we will do with whatever that thing is. Like Scripture tells us, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. And just from a, you know, sports perspective, like if you go into a game thinking, I'm gonna miss, I'm gonna miss, I'm gonna miss, I'm gonna miss, I'm gonna miss my shot and the team's gonna hate me and I'm gonna cost us the game, then you're gonna miss. Right? And the Bible is no stranger to talking about our minds and what we think about. Okay? For example, Philippians 2. 5 says, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ. Philippians 2. 8 says, to think on things that are true and pure and holy and lovely and of a good report. Okay? So our mindset matters. Our mindset matters in our sports, if we're into sports, our mindset matters in our business, our mindset matters in life. And the Bible has a lot to say about our mind. The Bible has a lot to say about our thoughts. Okay? Because as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Like Proverbs 23, verse 7 says, I think it's important to acknowledge a couple things here. The right mindset is more than a two second fix, right? Especially if your thinking's been really stinking for a long time. Like if you've had terrible thought patterns, terrible thought processes, like very negative, defeat minded thought process for a long time. Like, it's not necessarily a two second fix, okay? But this one shift that I want to break down today, it really can be an epiphany, a big revelation moment for you. So hang with me. Okay? Second thing, going into this, I want you, if you start to feel walls come up, I want you to take a pause and I want you to just be like, ah, I'm going to trust Faith for a minute. Because this podcast is not a name it and claim it, blab it and grab it. You have to have gold plated everything to be successful or obedient. Right? We're talking about your a mindset shift that you must make to succeed in business as a Christian business owner. Okay? And as I get into this, I want you to promise me, Pinky promise me or wrist promise me as my husband and I do, I want you to promise me that you're going to hear the whole thing out because it is scriptural, it is scripture based. I am coming from the heart of a servant here to help you and I truly want to help you honor God in your business. This is not a you have to have a bug, a jillion dollars to be successful type of attitude here. So don't let those walls come up. Okay? Or if they do come up, tell em they gotta hold on for another 10 minutes while this podcast is finished. Okay? So I'm gonna get into it. Obviously, I believe mindset is a huge thing. Okay? Mindset in business is crucial to your success. I have a whole air quotes day of the bootcamp coming up. 30 minutes. Right. Of mindset teaching about our mindset for success and sales in business. Okay? But if there is one thing that I could help you fix in your mindset to help you succeed in business, it would be this. I want you to stop believing this lie. And the lie is this, that money is the root of all evil. Now, before you're like, oh my gosh, faith. That's scriptural. Actually, no, it's not. That's misquoted. The scripture does not say that money is the root of all evil. No, sir. No, ma'. Am. The scripture actually says in First Timothy 6:10 that the love of money is the root of all evil. Big difference. Big, big, big, big, big difference. Okay? And here's what I wanted. Here's how I want to approach this topic. Okay? What does the Lord say we are to love? Okay. The Lord says in Mark 12, verse 30, 31, to love the Lord your God with all your heart, your soul, your mind and your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. The Bible also says in Matthew 6:21, that where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Money is simply a tool. Money is simply a tool. And Just like any tool, it can be used to build or to destroy. Depends on who's using it and how they're using it. We like to walk, watch fixer shows in my house. We're in the beginning stages of building our own house. And so fixer shows, like, heck yeah, that's fun. And my 5 year old little boy is very sad to find out that in our home building process there's not going to be a demo day. Because to him that's the epitome of, you know, building a house is you have to tear something down and then build it up and make it better. In his hands, a hammer is right now pretty destructive. Pretty destructive. In my five year old's hands a hammer is. But in my husband's hands a hammer is. He can build with it. He can take something that's nothing and make something. That hammer is a tool, just like money is a tool. Okay. And in First Timothy 6:10 where it says the love of money is the root of all evil, that's because our Father, our good, good Father in heaven knows that if we treasure money, we're not going to be treasuring him. If we treasure money, if money is where our treasure, our heart, our energy, our we're idolizing money, if that's where we're headed, then we're not going to be treasuring the Lord. He's not going to be on the throne of our heart. And ultimately we're not going to be using our gifts, our talents, our callings to glorify him and draw others to him. Because where our treasure is, there our heart will be also. And if we love money, if that's our treasure, then that's going to be the natural bent of our heart as well. So if money is not evil, it's the love of money that's evil. What are some biblical cases for using money for good? Well, first off, if you read through the Old Testament, which I think you should, we like to read through the Bible every year in my family, my husband and I, and the Old Testament is full of, okay, you give this for this offering. The money is supposed to be used here and for this. The Old Testament is full of examples of how money was supposed to be used to provide for the temple and the ministry at the temple, the priests and the Levites in charge of caring for the temple and the people. In Malachi 310 in the NIV, it says bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this says the Lord Almighty and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will be. That there will not be room enough to store it. So here's just a very. That's one example out of many in the Old Testament where it talks about money, bringing money to the storehouse, bring money to the temple to do the work of ministry. Okay, so that is one, one biblical case for money, right? The number two biblical case for money, that money is not evil, is to provide for your family. In First Timothy 5, 8, in the NASB version, it says, but if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. One of our jobs on this earth is to work. Work is not a cuss word. Work is actually part of our worship, and that work should bring forth a profit that we can then use to take care of our family. Speaking of Proverbs 14:23 says, all hard work brings a profit. But mirrored talk leads only to poverty. And then in Proverbs 10:22, it says. I think it's in the new King James. It says, the blessing of the Lord maketh rich, and he adds no sorrow to it. God is wanting to bless you. He wants to bless you to get a blessing through you, to help other people, to show forth his goodness and his nature and his kindness to those around you. You can't do that if you broke. If you don't have any money or and you can't grow to the place that you have more than enough to meet all of your needs, you can't grow to that place if you believe deep down that money is evil. Because like it says in Second Corinthians, chapter 9, verse 8 in the Amplified Classic edition, I'm going to read it to you. It says, and God is able to make all grace, every favor and earthly blessing come to you in abundance so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need, be self sufficient. Possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation, y'. All. I want to highlight that a little bit. Possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation, y'. All, that that's powerful. And when you get that mindset that money is not evil, the love of money is the root of all evil. Because I'm to love the Lord my God with all my heart, my soul, my mind, my strength. And that where My heart is, and my treasure is going to be also. So I want my heart to be about the Father's business in the throne room of God. That God wants to be on the throne of my heart alone. He alone on the throne of our heart. When we get that mindset that everything we have is from him, for him and to Him. And our money isn't really our money anyway, it's his. And it is a tool to be used to provide for the temple, to take care of our family, to take care of widows and orphans, and to have more than enough to give to every good work and charitable donation. When you have that mindset, when you get that mindset deep down in your soul, y', all, then work becomes a joy because it's a tool used to make money to be a blessing. Selling becomes easy because you don't believe that you're scamming somebody out of something. And money simply becomes a tool and a resource to use and allocate at the Father's discretion. So I have just like basically preached myself happy with this, with this podcast because y', all, I truly believe that if we are to see, if we are to see the End Times revival that is prophesied in scripture, that we have to see Christian men and women in the marketplace living like victorious Christian men and women who are blessed in everything they put their hands to. They are the head and not the tail. They are above and not beneath. That they, that they are truly victorious in every aspect of their life because the King of Kings lives inside of them, because they hear the voice of the Father, because they are united with Christ. If we are to truly see the End Times revival in the world and in the marketplace, we need men and women of God doing their job, using their God given gifts with the mind of Christ. So I just pray that this episode blesses you. I hope that you will join me in the sales. Sell More Without Sleaze three day boot camp. Day one is going to be all about mindset. If you’re a Christian business owner carrying unhelpful beliefs about money, this episode is a must-listen. Faith clearly outlines why money itself isn’t evil—only the love of money is—and shows from both scripture and practical wisdom how you can shift your mindset, embrace abundance for Kingdom purposes, and step boldly into your calling as an entrepreneur. This transformation, Faith argues, is essential not only for your business success but also for making a greater impact for God’s glory in the marketplace.
